The suit slightly improves stats, but you will not be able to make records or gain medals while wearing the suit.

Unlock Robot Special Outfit
Earn a Gold Medal in the Trial Mode in all men's and women's events to unlock the metal robot alternate outfit. To select the outfit, press the R button at the character select screen, and the robot will be the first hidden outfit listed.
