Spider-Man 2 for GameCube Hints and Tips

This page contains ALL the hints and tips we know of for Spider-Man 2 for GameCube. Please DO NOT contact us asking for additional Spider-Man 2 hints. Getting To The Statue Of Liberty
You will have to start on top of a tall building. Try to be as close to Liberty Island as possible. Look towards the island and you will eventually see two helicopters that cross paths with each other. Watch for the one that flies towards you. You will need to jump up when it is overhead and snag it with your webbing. This copter will take you out over the water. You will eventually cross paths with another copter when you are about halfway. Jump and hook onto that copter so it can take you the first island. From this island you will need to take one more copter that will deliver you to the Statue of Liberty. It may take a few tries to get it right.

Fight Calypso (Hidden Character Boss)
Kraven the Hunter's love interest, Calypso, is the fourth boss in the Boss Challenges mini-game.

Chapter 2
Beat the game once completing the Story mode, and Bruce Campbell will announce "And now for part 2". This opens up new civilian missions and new random challenges.

Switch Locations
During the final battle with Doc Ock, you must locate all of the 9 switches. 1 is located in a hole in the ground. Locate this one first due to the possibiltiy of falling into the water. 3 are located in the rooms on the first floor. 3 are located on the platforms 1 is located on a wall, near the catwalks

All Your Base Are Belong To Us Reference
During the fight with Mysterio he says "You have no chance to survive....Make Your Time!"

Mary Jane's Apartment
Located in Soho. Look for a purple dot on the map.

Peter Parker's Apartment
Located in West Village as a white square on the map. Look for a balcony.

Beat Mysterio's Orbs
Swing to one of the platforms that takes you upward. Once you are high enough, jump off to land near an orb and continue pressing the attack button. Continue this method as fast as possible. Once all 8 orbs are destroyed you MUST make it to the brain and attack it within the allotted time or the orbs will respawn. Tip: Use Spider Sense mode when attacking the brain. If you are having trouble with this, join the club.

Lock On Mode
You can target and lock on to enemies by pressing Up on the D-Pad.

Flag Pole Spinning
When near a flag pole, jump and press the X button to spin around it. Continue to hold down the X button for 5 revolutions and Spider-Man will sit on the pole.

Vulture Reference
If you go to one of the gargoyles located on the Chrysler Buidling, you will find some of Vulture's feathers. This is a reference to the Vulture boss battle from Spider-Man the movie game in which Spider-Man fought the Vulture on the Chrysler Building.

Fight Lizard
Beat Battle Arena (once you complete story mode). Look for the open manhole cover near the pizza parlor. This will be accessible only at night between the game hours of midnight and 3:00 AM.

Wall Sprinting
If you want to run on the wall (Wallsprinting), swing toward a building while holding L. Let go of the web so that you fall. (Do this from a high building for longer wallsprinting) Still holding L, hold X. You should start running immidiatly.

Alternate Costumes
Locate all Secret and Skycraper Tokens. Look for the Costumes store in the Garment District. This store is ONLY accessible between the game hours of 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. The game clock can be located near the FC area on a building that does NOT face the water. Alternate costumes include symbiote suit, Peter Parker, Wrestling suit, Alex Ross suit, Alternate prototype Spider-Man suit from 1st movie (Power Rangers), Ben Reilly, Scarlett Spider, Battle Ravaged Spider-Man, Unmasked Spider-Man.

Thug Glitch
This happened when I was fighting a bunch of thugs in a gang war. First make sure you have thug hanger upgrade. Then make sure your surrounded by thugs. When surrounded start the thug hanger combo on an unconsious thug. Another thug should hit you and stop you in the middle of the combo. The glitch is you'll have an unconsious thug tied to your arm you can still do everything like before such as crawling, swinging (even the slingshot trick), you can even turn around and beat him up if you want. To get rid of him either die or fall in water.

Defeat Rhino
To defeat the Rhino, make sure you dodge his attacks. To do this, when your head flashes, press the "X" button to dodge his attacks. Then, when he's done with his attack that you have dodged, he'll become dizzy and you can attack him with the "B" button. Continue this until you defeat him.

Save The Reporters
At the News Conference, chaos happens. You must save all 6 reporters from Mysterio. First, save the two reporters that are hanging from balconies. Press "Y" while on the balcony to grab them and swing back to the balcony which you started out on. Drop them off there and defeat the aliens that are flying around with a couple presses of the "B" button. Then, get the 4 reporters on the stage near Mysterio. Swing your way back to the balcony with the exit with them.

The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life
If you defeat Dr. Octopus for the last time, you get to see the ending movie, the credits, and you open a new chapter. In this chapter, you have only 1 thing on your to-do list: earn 50,000 hero points, so help as many people as possible. You can also get the level 7 swing upgrade, the movie theater, and the fight arena from the spidey store. If you get the 50,000 hero points, you open the final chapter cleverly titled:The Second Day of the Rest of Your Life. All there is left to do is to buy the level 8 swing upgrade for 50,000 hero points.

Find Secret Tokens
If you look on the mini map and find a group of buildings with a hole in it go to the hole. Fall in and look around the groung to find 1 of the 75 secret tokens.
