HEART CONTAINERS
.................

Throughout the game, Link can collect heart containers to increase his energy meter
to fill it up to a total of 20 hearts. Heart pieces come in either _ pieces or full
heart containers. By completing each dungeon and defeating the boss, you can get a
full heart container. As for the 36 other heart pieces… well that’s where we come
in. Below is a listing of all of the heart pieces in the game, where to find them,
and how to get them… in a somewhat linear order.

*Note: the seed dealer is located at Zora’s River as a child.

GREAT FAIRY FOUNTAINS
.....................

Throughout your quest, you will be able to find many hidden fairy fountains through
hidden passages. The fairy will give you helpful power-ups and magic spells that
increase both your offensive attack and your defense.

Spinning Sword Attack
Items needed: Hylian shield, slingshot, slingshot ammo, bombs

Climb up death mountain trail and take a left at the red flag. The rock on the left
isn't in the way of anything but you can blow it up for a blue rupee. Blow up the
rock on the right and climb up. You'll have to jump to the other side but you
won't be able to with the rock across the way blocking the path. Throw a bomb so
that it gets stuck up there or time it so that it blows up on contact (bombs have
about a five second fuse). Cross down the path until the volcano starts
erupting. Make sure you have your Hylian shield equipped and press "R" to duck
down. Once the rocks stop hitting your shield, you’ll have a few seconds to walk
down the mountain until it erupts again. Once you get to the end, kill the
Skulltula on the wall and climb up. Continue to the top, killing the other two
Skulltulas as you work your way up. Once you get to the top, place a bomb next to
the cracked wall. The fairy inside will give you a new spin attack.

Din’s Fire
Items needed: bombs

Get past the Hyrule Castle gate by going around it or paying the guard off. Go
right at the fork and blow the rock up with a bomb.

Farore’s Wind
Items needed: bombs

Go to the partially frozen lake where Jabu-Jabu used to be. Located on the opposite
end (bottom right on your map) is a rock that can’t be blown up or hammered. Place
a bomb near it anyway and the wall behind the rock will blow up instead.

Longer Magic Meter
Items needed: hammer

Go through Darunia’s throne room to the entrance of Death Mountain. Use your hammer
to break the two rocks on the right of the entrance.

Nayru’s Love
Items needed: bombs

Warp to the entrance of the Spirit Temple. Find the cracked tree and blow it up
with a bomb.

Half Damage
Items needed: Golden Gauntlets

Get the Golden Gauntlet from Ganon’s Castle and lift up the giant pillar outside of
the castle. The pillar is around the same area where you found Din’s Fire as a child

BOTTLE LOCOTAIONS
..................
Bottle Number One
Collect seven chickens and put them in the lady's pen. All seven chickens are
located in the following areas:

1.) Directly in front of you when you first walk into Kakariko Village.

2.) In the box in front of the stairs. Ram into it by pressing forward and "A" at
the same time.

3.) At the top of the second set of stairs near the entrance to the Death Mountain
Trail.

4.) Grab chicken number three and run off the red roof next to the big tower. Climb
up the stairs in front of the well and turn the corner up to the next set of
steps. Jump off the ledge to the other side where the chicken is next to the house.

5.) Near the chicken pen in front of the stairs.

6.) Grab a chicken from the pen and walk up the nearby steps. Get as close to the
fence as you can and jump to the other side. You need to get at a diagonal angle
and take the shortest distance to jump the fence. Throw your chicken over the fence
and pick him up later. Jump down below and get the chicken in front of the
ladder. Go up the stairs and throw him to the other side.

7.) Go up the ladder where you got chicken number six from and get the chicken from
the top.

Bottle Number Two
Play Talon’s Cucco Game at Lon-Lon Ranch. Find the three special chickens in the
pile and he will give you a bottle with Lon-Lon Milk in it.

Bottle Number Three
Princess Ruto leaves a bottle under the water with a letter in it. Retrieve the
bottle by diving down to it (you will need the silver scale.) Once you show the
letter to King Zora, he will let you keep the bottle.

Bottle Number Four
As Adult Link, collect Poes from Hyrule Field. Take your captured Poes to the one-
eyed ghost in the Hyrule Castle Town. He is located inside the first door on the
right when you first walk in from Hyrule Field.

GETTING EPONA
..............

1.) Talk to Malon in the field of Lon-Lon Ranch as a child. She will be playing
Epona’s song; show her your Ocarina and she will teach it to you. Note: she will
not be in the field until after you meet with Princess Zelda.

2.) As Adult Link, collect 70 Rupees and go talk to Ingo at Lon-Lon Ranch. Pay him
10 rupees to ride a horse; instead of using the provided horse, call Epona using
Epona’s Song. Get some practice with Epona until time is expired. Pay 10 more
rupees to ride Epona but talk to Ingo while you are riding her this time. He will
bet you 50 rupees that he will beat you in a race.

3.) When racing against Ingo, stay on the inside of the track for the shortest
distance to the finish line. If Ingo tries to cut you off, go around him on the
other side. Use your carrots, but never use all of them; the more you use, the
longer it takes for them to come back.

4.) If you beat him, he will challenge you to another race. The wager this time
around will be the ownership of Epona. Win the second time around and you will have
your horse.

5.) Although Ingo is a man of his word, he refuses to allow you to leave Lon-Lon
Ranch. Build up Epona’s speed and jump over the gate to escape the Ranch. If you
don’t hit the gate head on, Epona will not jump it so avoid turning at angles.

MASK TRADES
.............

1.) Get the Egg from Malon outside Hyrule Castle.

2.) After one day, the Egg will hatch into a chicken.

3.) Wake up Talon just outside the side of the castle.

4.) Go through the castle and get the Letter from Zelda.

5.) Show the Letter to the guard outside the Kakariko Village Death Mountain
entrance.

6.) Get the Keaton Mask from the Mask Shop in the Market and talk it to the
Kakariko Village Death Mountain entrance guard while wearing it to sell it.

7.) After you give the Keaton Mask, go back to the Mask Shop and get the Skull
Mask.

8.) Go to the Lost Woods and take your first left. Stand on the short stump with
the Skull Mask on and talk to the weird guy dancing on the taller stump in front of
you.

9.) Go to the Mask Shop, and get the Spooky Mask. Go to the Kakariko Village
Graveyard during the day and talk to the kid while wearing the mask.

10.) Go to the Mask Shop and get the Bunny Hood. Find the man running around Lon
Lon Ranch (appears after beating Jabu-Jabu) and chase him until he stops. When you
leave the Market, try going to the right side of Lon Lon and you may see him
running in the distance. Don't worry if you don't see him right away, after a few
laps he'll be there. While wearing the mask, talk to him and he'll buy it.

11.) Now you'll have access to the Mask of Truth, the Goron Mask, the Gerudo Mask,
and the Zora Mask. The Mask of Truth lets you talk to the time-keeping statues, and
the other masks are just for fun

1.) Talk to the Cukko lady in Kakariko village as an adult. She will give you an
egg. Let the egg hatch overnight and give it back to her. She will give you a blue
cukko in place of it.

2.) Take the blue cukko to the Lost Woods. Take the first left and find the weird
guy sitting next to the tree.

3.) Take the weird mushroom to the potion shop.

4.) Go back to the lost woods and give the potion to the lady where the weird guy
was. She will give you the poacher saw in place of the potion.

5.) Give the poacher’s saw to the carpenter at Gerudo Valley. He will give you a
broken sword in place of it.

6.) Go to the top of Death Mountain and give the broken sword to the Goron. He
can’t see too well because of the recent volcano eruptions. He’ll give you his
prescription to fill his eye drops.

7.) Take the Big Goron’s prescription to King Zora. He will give you the frog
eyeballs.

8.) Run to Lake Hylia and give the eyeballs to the scientist at the Lake laboratory.

9.) Take the eye drops to the Big Goron as fast as you can. Wait three days and get
the Biggoron Sword.

arrow upgrades
...............

Here's how you get your hands on both arrow upgrades and the big quiver.

Big Quiver
As an adult, go to the shooting gallery at Kakariko Village. Play the game for 20
rupees. If you shoot all of the rupees, you’ll get the big quiver. If you miss one
or two, you’ll be given a free second chance. Each of the different colored rupees
has a different pattern. The four red ones swing by the line above; keep your arrow
in the middle of the screen and shoot them as they come by. The green ones pop up
from the hole in the middle. One of them stays at the top of the hole and the other
jumps up from the hole and goes back down once it reaches a certain height. The
blue ones come from the left side and the right side. One set comes at the same
time but the other set comes from the left and then the right or vice versa, but
they are always after another. If you see a single blue rupee come from one side,
shoot it and change your sights to the other side.

Fire Arrows
Once you beat the water temple, stand on the island above the entrance to the Water
Temple. Near the warp point is another tomb-like area with two pillars on an island
in the distance. Wait till morning and shoot the rising sun with your arrows. The
fire arrows will drop down across the lake where you can collect them.

Ice Arrows
With the Silver Gauntlets in your possession, you can head to the Gerudo Training
Ground. Talk to the guard in front of the gateway to the training grounds to get in
for some Rupees.

Go inside the Lion' mouth to your right. Kill all the enemies in here, grab the
key, and go through the newly accessible door. Using your hover boots, go to the
platform on your left. Now go to the one with the switch, step on it, and go back
to the platform you came from. Now go to the platform in front of you with a silver
Rupee. Now go to the middle platform and go to the following platform with a silver
Rupee on it. Now hookshot the target above you near the door, and you'll grab the
last Rupee, unblocking the door you'll want to go through now.

Here, stand on the red part of the floor and play the Song of Time. With your Iron
Boots on, go down to the floor, kill the clams, and using your hookshot on the
targets, get all the Rupees. Now grab the key and go through the same door.

Now hookshot the torch to go to the next door. Hammer the statues and step on the
switch that's under one of them. Grab the key from the chest, and shoot the gold
eye that's behind one of these statues, and go through the door that's now
unblocked.

Now shoot the eyes of the statues in a row. Hookshot to the chest that now appears,
to grab another key.

Now go to the starting room and go through the Lion's head on the other side of the
room. Kill the two Stalfos here and grab the key. Now go through the door, and
you'll start collecting more silver Rupees. Take two lefts for one, go up the
incline for another, and go back and to the left and then to the right for another.
Hookshot for another one, and go down the incline, take a right and a couple more
rights for the last Rupee. Now go up the incline again, take a left, take a right,
and Hookshot the target past the fire wall to get to the next door.

Kill the enemies in this room, and bomb the next door because it's fake. Using the
Lens, Hookshot to the place above the door, step on the switch, and go through the
door. Go through the other door and grab another key. Now go to where you saw the
fake door, and push the big block and enter the next room. Using the Lens, you'll
see a chest with another key in it.

Go back to the starting room, and take the door on the right. Go down until you get
another key, Now go back and go through the other locked door. Use the Lens to see
the secret hole, climb up to it, and grab a key. You finally have enough keys to go
through all the locked doors to get the ice arrows!
