Intro(intr) After you start the game and set up everything for the first time, you hit new game (right?) After that, a screen comes up and you see a barren wasteland and the words "Dream World." This is your very first mission. You start with all the weapons you can ever hope to get in the game, Sting, your trusty walking stick, and the rocks.(or stones, I refer to them as both.)Fight well, young grasshopper, and may the Force be with you! Just kidding. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Bilbo Baggins' Weapons(bbwe) This guide focuses mostly on Bilbo's weapons. If you can't figure something out when it comes to actual gameplay, please go to another FAQ, 'cause this one won't give you too much help. If you want to know about the weapons and the rating I'm giving them, stay here. I rate the weapons on a scale of 1-10. The total is an average of all the scores. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3a. The Walking Stick(wkst) This weapon(if you can call it that) is the first weapon you get and use. You find it in your Hobbit Hole, the Bag-End. Get it out of the chest and it's yours to use forever. It has some advantages over Sting, but it's weaker. The hobbit can use the stick in a pole jump(run in any direction hold L and quickly press the A button once) to jump long distance. Another thing it has is its long reach. This is great if you're fighting an enemy you don't want to get real up close to. And yet another is its Jump Attack. after you find some scrolls relating to the Walking Stick, sometimes your attack radius for the Jump Attack will increase. Attack Power: 4.5 Defensive: 10 Reach: 8 Jump Attack Radius: 10 Time Weapon can be Used: OO (or N/A) Total: 8.13 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3b. Throwing Stones (ston) This is another item you get while you're still in the Shire. They are in the only accessable apple orchard in the Shire. Pick them up and economize them, for you can only carry 10 of them for now. Later you can upgrade your rock bag, but that's a different story. Attack Power: 4 Defensive:N/A Reach: 10 Jump Attack Radius: N/A Time Weapon can be Used: OO Total: 7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3c. Sting, the Elven Blade(steb) The last item (the best, in my opinion) is the short sword, Sting, the Elven Blade. Its cool blue glow is probably its most valuable asset outside of combat. But, it has other things I need to talk about also. It is found outside the entrance to the Dwarf Caves in the mission Troll Hole. Bilbo names it Sting, and the mission ends, so you don't get too much time to play with it in that level. Actually, you don't get any time to play with it. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a pole jump, or a high JAR( Jump Attack Radius), but it is the strongest of the three weapons. Its only major drawback is its not so long reach. Attack Power: 8 Defensive:10 Reach: 5 Jump Attack Radius: 3 Time Weapon can be Used: OO Total: 6.5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3d. The Ring of Power(trop) If you think the Ring of Power, commonly known as the Ring, isn't a weapon, then that's OK, 'cause this is a free country. But if I think it is, then it's going into this FAQ. Too bad. You(Bilbo)find the Ring in the Riddles in the Dark mission near the end.(I think!) If I'm wrong, tell me about it. So, as I was saying, after you find it, the mission ends. You can't see where it is, the computer decides if you find it where you do or not. Don't ask me why, but that's just the way it is. In the next mission, the game explains to you how to use it. But I'll do that right now. To use the Ring, (after you have gotten it, of course) press "Z." There will be a flash of blinding light, and you will've donned the Ring, making you invisible to almost everybody, except people that you can talk to. But why would want to make nice people think that you are a phantom? The best way to use the Ring is to equip it, and sneak around using the "L" and control stick. This way, the person(or thing) can't hear you OR see you. Double whammy!! Another thing I feel like I have to tell you is, when an enemy sees looks at(through, what ever!)you, Bilbo will glow a reddish color. Also, you can't wear the Ring for more than 20 seconds, give or take 5. Attack Power: N/A Defensive: 10 Reach: N/A Jump Attack Radius: N/A Time Weapon can be Used: 5 Total: 7.5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Miscelleneous(misc) This is just some stuff I feel I need to write(type, whatever). I want to thank Cheatcodes.com for having an author program. Also, I am NOT responsible for any mishaps (if at all) that happens while using this information. On another note, I have given my E-Mail adress only for advice and tips on how to make this FAQ better, NOT for harrasment. It will take a while for me to answer your question or comment, so don't worry if you don't get a reply for some time. Any harrasment will be delt with seriously. Later ^_^
