  NOTE: Open the chests around the corner from ANNA's desk in the Guild Hall

  + Look on the Bulletin Board.
    - Two Quests are probably available.
      * There seems to be some randomness in Quests appearing.
      * But the following Quests should appear before you start getting "NOT YET"
        Quests
    - Accept BOTH if they are there.
      * You can have a maximum of 12 Quests accepted (but that number will not
        be available until later in the game).

~ QUESTS:

1. ANNA (guild Receptionist) needs medicine (5 x Heal Jars)

2. PUKKO in the Beastmen Quarters needs help to find a particular beautiful lady,

+ 1-1.A. QUEST: "MEDICINE DELIVERY" +
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

~ Do this one first, as IRIS will learn her first spell.
  + Make sure you talk to ANNA (receptionist).
    - You need more information.
    - The recipe will NOT be in IRIS's Workshop until you have talked to ANNA.


~ Goal:
  + Deliver 5 X HEAL JARS to YACH.
    - YACH runs the General Store.
    - After delivering them, Yach will have them available for sale.
    - He will charge: 290 Cole.

  + While makning the required five, you might as well make at least four extra
    (total of 10).
    - EDGE is going to need them soon.

  + INGREDIENTS Needed (makes 10):
      10 X SPINACHERB ....... Mana Item bought from the Grocery Store (or found).
      10 X  ... Ingredient picked up beside Workshop or the Fountain.
      10 X  ....... Ingredient dropped by Puni.


~ Outside the door to the Guild:
  + CHECK THE INVENTORY OF ITEMS (PRESS [TRIANGLE] and choose ITEMS.
    - There are seven lists of different types of items.
      * Mana Items .... These are used for healing, attack, or as ingredients.
      * Ingredients ... Use to make a variety of items when you have the recipes.
      * Weapons ....... Currently there are two; grey because they are equipped.
      * Armor ......... Also grey because they are equipped.
      * Accessories ... PAW GLOVES   [equip on EDGE]
                        HEALING ANKH [equip on IRIS]
      * Key Items ..... Iris's (chained) book.
      * Recipes ....... ? Medicinal Idea. The '?' indicates it is just an idea and
                          not a recipe yet.

  + IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 PUNIBALL, GO BACK TO THE FOREST OF VALTESSA AND FIGHT.

~ Return to the workshop
  + You'll see a floating icon of IRIS's head (called an "Inspiration Icon"):
    - Go close and get the recipe on the right of the room.
      * "? Medicinal Idea" becomes "Restorative Medicine".
      * The item made is HEAL JAR ... Medium heal (one).

  + IRIS also comes up with new ideas (it may be a while before they become
    recipes):

    ? Ceramic Inspiration.
    ? Dirt Research.
    ? Cheer for Boom.


~ Make the 10 X HEAL JAR.
  + You'll see three 'Cards" for each item needed for this item.
    - Her Alchemy Level is bottom left (it is empty).
    - Bottom right is a box showing:
      * Switch Items ... Don't do it yet as you won't have enough ZUFTUFF WATER.
      * Synthesize ..... Choose this to make the HEAL JAR.
                         - Change the amount to 10.

  NOTE 1: HEAL JAR gives Medium Heal to one.

  NOTE 2: Her Alchemey Level gauge now has the beginning of a pink bar.

~ SAVE!	before leaving.

~ Take the medicine to the General Store and give them to YACH (behind the
  counter).
  + As you leave, he tells you to See Anna.


~ Talk to Anna:
  + You now have enmough Guild Points to:
    - Access a new alterword (Castle of Grimoir through the Scripture Library).
    - Get some supplies from the Guild Worker just beyond the Bulletin Board.

      5 X Green Soup ..... Small heal over time (repeats during battle).
      3 X Nectar ......... Restore HP after Knockout.
      2 X Sweaty Fruit ... Give one each to EDGE & IRIS to increase defense.


~ Talk to Anna again to finish Quest.
  + You won't get any more QUEST CARDS on the Bulletin Board until you do.

  + Anna tells of a new type of Quest (Retrieval).

  + Quests with a boot icon give Quest Pts.

~ When the QUEST CLEAR information is finished,:
  + YOu'll find another recipe at the decorative pot on the floor across from ANNA.
  + The idea: '? Ceramic Inspiration' becomes 'Pot'.


~ cHECK THE BULLETIN BOARD.

  + There should be two or three notices on the board.
    - One you already have accepted.

  + Here are the possible Quests:

    - Your name .............. Go to the Beastmen Quarters.
    - Everyone's Dream ....... Go to the forest to defeat bears to get the meat.
                               - You'll need at least three.
                               - This Quest may be repeated later.
    - Uniting the Beastmen ... Go to the Beastmen Quarters.


  + Complete the "Everyone's Dream" first as this allows you to buile EXP.

    - You can do them in any order    +
    - This FAQ will present them in the recommended
      * Following will save unnecessary journeys.
      * Which will save you time.

+ 1-1.B. QUEST: "EVERYONE'S DREAM" +

~ GOAL:
  + EVA (Tavern) has a customer who wants:
    3 X  ............ An ingredient dropped by Bears (in the Forest).

  + PRIZE:
    1000 Cole
      10 X  ... Used in  many synthesis recipes.

  NOTE: NO QUEST POINTS FOR COMPLETING THIS QUEST.


~ The only way to complete this Quest:
  + Get .
    - A complete trip through the forest should get you at least five 

  + Get enough for Eva, and go back several times to get as many as possible.
    -  is used to make some stronger healing items.
      * You'll get the recipe soon.
      * So the more you get the better.


~  Go to the FOREST of VALTESSA.

   + Explore more places while finding the Bears.
     - You'll find BEARS in the RED Glob Critters.

     - Difficult to defeat at EDGE & IRIS's current EXP Levels.
       * Fight every GLOB you meet to gain EXP.
       * Return "To Town" whenever your HP is low and you run out of SPINACHERB.

   + You'll need to fight at least 3 RED GLOBS.


~ At EXP LEVEL 6:
  + EDGE can defeae Mini Puni with one blow.
  + IRIS Still cannot defeat even a Mini Puni with a single blow with Battle
    skill.
    - But her magic skill "ELEMENTAL CONVERSION" will take out one monster at a
      time.
    - You need to fill the MANA POWER Guage.

    - Use to make 2 X-Jars (for a later Quest)

  + She gets increments on the pink alchemy bar, whenever she makes somethin NEW.


~ Go to her workshop and press [X] in front of the cauldron.

  + The "ITEM SYNTHESIS" screen displays Items first.
    - You have already made the Heal Jars.
      * Making more is helpful in the game but won't affect the Alchemy Level Bar.

    - She can make GREEN SOUP but not until they get some .

  + Go to the INGREDIENTS List (press [Right]).
    - There are two items listed:
      1. X-Jar ............... Need .
      2. Philosopher's Ash ... Make this first.

    - Press [X] on the item to be made.
      Need:

      Flour + Worthless Stone + Meruze Water.

  + YOU CAN SWITCH ITEMS:
    - Some items will not make a difference to what is made, others will...

    - Press [X] on "SWITCH iTEMS":
      * Examine the cards; Note that:
        ...  adds CHARGE+ (M) to the item being made.
            = May be important if making a weapon or armor.
        ...  adds CRIT+ (M)
            = Incresaes the chance of critical hits (medium chance)
      * Whichever item you use, this recipe ONLY makes .

    - This is a Weapon and you can choose Properties (same with Armor).
      * Two more Tutorials are added.
      * Essentially:
        ... Select "Property Reviews"
        ... Choose which Properties you would like to add to the weapon (you'll be
            asked to confirm).
      * There are two slotsand three Property choices.
        ... HP+ (S) .......... This add a small amount to IRIS's total when
                               equipped.
        ... Atk+(S) .......... Increases her attack a small amount.

      * Select two of these properties.

  + NOw make one more item:
    - Go to the ARMOR List.
      * Mist Armor is equipped oin EDGE.
      * Raven Cape can be equipped on IRIS.
    - Select Raven Cape as it will improve her defense.

    - Spinacherb will give you a new recipe (called a "derived" recipe).
      * Whatever it is, requires a Raven Cape AND Chrome Crystals to make.
        ... Chrokme Crystals will be found in a later Atlterworld.
      * But you do have the recipe.
    - So go back and select Tufts.
      * You only have Nicro Cloth.
      * But you have three choices on the last Card:
              ......... Adds Stun+ (S) (small increase in chance of
                                   stunning a monster).
              ............. Adds Block+ (increases chance of completly
                                   blocking a physical attack)
              .......... Shroom Power (heals a lot of HP every turn but
                                   slows speed)

      * I CHOSE "SHROOM POWER" because IRIS will be healed a little each time she
        has a turn in Battle.

  + Make the item and IRIS' s Alchemy Level increases to one star plus a small
    amount on the Gauge.
    - Her Magic Attack increases by 5.
    - Her Magic Defense increases by 5.

    - She also comes up with some new ideas:
      ? Delicious Food.
      ? Flowery Tempotation.
      ? Cute Clothes.
      ? Magical Item.
    AND ...
    - Next time you go into the FOREST OF VALTESSA there will be a new recipe in
      a patch of flowers (third part of the map, just past a RED GLOB).

  + You still have to choose a property, one only (I chose "Shroom Power").
    - Each turn in the bBatle, some HP will be restored.


~ One more: To make :
  + You must have at least two POISON SHROOM (from the Nethershop).

  + Making this item gives you a "derived" recipe.


~ Steps:
  + Choose HEAL JAR recipe.

  + Use "Switch Item".
    - Choose Poison Shroom from the first card.
    = Choose whichever type of water you have the most of (maskes no real
      difference).
    = Choose .

  + Now Synthesize and make two.

   
  NOTE: MEDICINE X IS AN INGREDIENT.
        - You'll find it on the Ingredient List.
          * So its recipe will be in the Ingredient List when you synthesize more.

        - Once you have a derived recipe:

      * Very helpful for the more difficult enemies.

       - Then have IRIS use ELEMENTAL CONVERSION on the POT SPIRIT.

  2. Two POT SPIRITS.

     + Have EDGE use WINDMILL (if IRIS has fist turn, just hit, use WINDMILL on
       the critter jhit by IRIS).
       - Ttwo hits from the Cross=Blades should finish them off.

        Glansen Ore to make this weapon.
