                                ROUTE 4
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing much to do here except getting TM05(roar) and the two Move Tutors
who teach Mega Punch and Mega Kick.At the end of this route you will
reach the next city.

                              Cerulean City
=============================================================================

After a really long walk you finally arrive at the city.This is Viridian
City the home to the second Gym.At the north of the city you have an 
unpleasant surprise waiting for you and I think you can guess what.
Go to the north of this town and towards the nugget bridge.Here you
will meet your "dear old pal" Gary.Here are his pokemon:-

Pidgeotto lv.17
Rattatta  lv.15
Abra      lv.15
Starter   lv.18

A Pikachu might be help ful as it is powerfull against Pidgeotto and also
a Squirtle if you chose Charmander as your starting pokemon.
After the battle Gary will give you a Key Item known as a Fame Checker
which is used to identify trainers who you have previously battled with.
Go back town heal your pokemon and continue up the Nugget Bridge.

                             Route24
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are five trainers on the nugget bridge whom you must defeat.At the end 
of the bridge there is a Team Rocket member who you will have to defeat.
He gives you a nugget which you can sell for 5,000$! Neat huh?
At the end you will find TM45 Attract.You may now want to go to the next
route or you can challenge the trainer in the grassy area.

                             Route25
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you observed the conversation you had with Gary you will see him mention
a scientist named Bill.He is the main reason you came on this route.There
are tons of trainers on this route whom you can battle.You will also find 
TM43Secret Power.Go to the end of this route and enter the house you will
see a Clefairy who is actually Bill.He was transformed in some freak 
accident.He will ask you to help him.Go to the PC and initiate the process.
He will come out and thank you and give you a S.S ticket for the ship
S.S.Anne in Vermillion City.Now it is time to go back to Cerulean City and
challenge the Gym Leader Misty!! I suggest your pokemon is lvl 27.

                        The Hydro Battle
________________________________________________________________________

The Gym contains all water pokemon trainers.You have to defeat 2 trainers
before facing the leader.The Gym leaer Misty has a lvl.17 Staryu and a
lvl.18 Starmie.If you chose Charmander you might have some problems in
the battle.You must have a Grass or Thunder type ready.If you have an
Ivysaur it is totally different.You can whopp her.After she is defeated
she will give you TM03 Water Pulse and a Cascade Badge!

You can now exit the city by going through the house with the policeman
in the front.Go through the house and you will and you will see a Team
Rocket Grunt.Defeat him and he will give you TM28 Dig,a good way to 
escape a tunnel.

                         Route 5
------------------------------------------------------------------------

So now that you have exited the city go south and you will find a day
care center and the man inside will raise the level of your pokemon 110$
each.Your pokemon might learn new moves and forget old ones.I suggest you
seaerch in the grass for a Meowth that has an item attached to it.
You will see that the entrance to Saffron City is blocked so you will
have to take the underground path.There is a girl near the entrance who
will trade you her female Nidoran for your male Nidoran.Go and have a
long walk in the underground path and you will reach another set of stairs.

                        Route 6
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here you will find six tainers waiting to battle you but if you are tired
of battling you only need to battle two of them.Lots of grass but no new
pokemon here.

                        Vermillion City
===========================================================================

Here are some things which you should do first.The top left corner house
of the town has a man who will give you an Old Rod.A fishing rod that
helps you to catch Magikarp.Go down and you will find two houses.One
of them has a girl that will trade her Farfetch'd for your Spearow.
The other house is the Pokemon Fan Club.Talk to the President and he will 
give you a bike voucher.
In the pokemon center you will find a purple haired lady in front of the
counter who will give you a VS.Seeker an item which tells you about 
trainers who want to battle you again with stronger pokemon this time.
Go to Cerulean City and get a bike and come back to Vermillion City.

   The S.S.Anne
-----------------------------------

When you see the S.S.Anne you will think what a small ship but actually
it is pretty big once you get inside.The rooms are filled with many
items and trainers.If you will go to the kitchen you will find some
berries.(I found them by trial) .Go to the second floor and once again
the snobbish Gary will meet you.This battle he will have evolved his 
starter which will be more difficult.After defeating him climb the
steps and you will meet the ship's seasick captain.Talk to him and
he will give you HM01 Cut.Now that you have Cut,leave the ship and it
will sail away.It is time to face the Gym Leader!

                   The Thundering War
___________________________________________________________________

Cut the tree blocking the Gym and enter it.As you enter you will see
that the whole place consists of trash cans.First thihg you want to
do is to defeat all of the trainers.Then go to every trash can and
press"A".You will have to activate two switches to remove the
barrier to the Leader Lt.Surge.The trash cans containing the switches
are right next to each other.By some trial and error brake the
barrier and confront Lt.Surge.He has a lv.21 Voltorb,a lv.18 Pikachu
and a lv.24 Raichu.If you have a good ground type pokemon you can 
easily dominate the match.After the battle he will give you
TM34 Shock Wave and a Thunder Badge.

                    Digglet's Cave
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Go right of Vermillion City you will find Diglett's Cave on Route 11.
Go into the cave.It is not very tough to navigate as there is only one
pathway.You will find only Digglets or if you are lucky even a Dugtrio.
When you will reach the other end you will be back at Route 2.You are
here for something very IMPORTANT.

                 Back on Route 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You will notice that this is the other half of route 2 which you were
not able to explore before.Go down and you will find a house in which
a guy is wiling to trade his Mr.Mime for your Kadabra.Go further south
and you will reach a house with Prof.Oak's aides in it.Now I hope you
have been cathing your pokemon because only if you have caught 10
different species of pokemon will he give you HM02 Flash.Trust me you
will need it!

                   Route 11
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Go back through the tunnel and head right for a few items and battles
and a lot of grass.You can go into the house and do a pokemon trade.
You cannot go further after the house as you will notice a huge pokemon
sleeping which will not wake up.This is a Snorlax.For now go back to
Cerulean City and cut the tree blocking the way.You now reach ROUTE 9.

                  Route 9

Get ready for a hell load of battles,you have all types here.You will
also find TM40 Aerial Ace.Just keep battling and going right when you
will reach Route 10.

                   Route 10
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Route 10 is not very long.You will see some water and when one of your
pokemon have learned surf you can surf south of route 2 for something
very special mentioned afterwards.Go down and you will see a pokemon
centre where you can heal your pokemon.Here is another Aide which will
give you an Everstone if you have caught 20 different pokemon.Remember
the HM Flash you had got? Teach it to a pokemon and go into Rock
Tunnel.

                    Rock Tunnel
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This a tunnel is like a maze. You will find lots of trainers and items.
You will encounter a pokemon every eight to ten steps which is very
irritating.You might use a repel to......well repel pokemon.When you
finally exit the tunnel head south and you will reach the spooky city.

                      Lavender Town
=======================================================================

No Gym here so nothing much to do here.The tall Pokemon Tower has lots
of ghost pokemon which you can catch later.You need an item called a 
Silph Scope which helps you to identify ghost pokemon.If you think you
can face Gary go to the second floor and fight him.His team changes
depending on your starter.Now you can visit the name raters house who
can change your pokemons name.Go to the pokemart and get some Super
Balls.After that go left on Route 8.

Here you will have a few battles including your first double battle.
Some new pokemon are here too.You still can't reach Saffron City so
take the Underground Path.
