I. Introduction
This is a FAQ/Walkthrough for the Android game Bad Piggies. It contains
solutions for all the puzzles, the locations of all the hidden skulls, and a
mini-review.

II. Basic Gameplay

A. Object
The object of each stage is to build a vehicle that can carry your pig from
the starting point to the map piece.
...............................................................................
B. Building a Vehicle
In each stage you will have a set number of empty slots where you can place
vehicle parts. To place a part, simply drag it from the bottom of the
screen to the desired slot. You can change the orientation of a part by
tapping it. When you are finished building your vehicle tap the checkmark to
proceed.

C. Earning Stars
Like Angry Birds, it's possible to earn up to three stars per stage. You earn
one star just for reaching the map piece. Other stars can be earned by
completing specific objects such as hitting a star box or finishing a stage
within a certain amount of time. You can view the star criteria for a stage
by touching the magnifying glass icon while you are building your vehicle.

Activate the cola first. When the front wheel reaches the flowers, hit the
button to activate all three lime sodas at once. If you timed it right,
your vehicle will flip and hit the star box then crash into the map piece.

Activate the cola to jostle the pig over to the right. As soon as his eye hits
the corner of the TNT activate it. You have to time it JUST right.

This one requires a lot of coordination! Start of by closing the umbrella then
activating the left fan. Right before you go off the cliff you need to open the
umbrella, turn off the left fan, and turn on the right fan.
The second you land close the umbrella and activate the cola. Before you go
off the cliff you need to open the umbrella, turn off the right fan, and turn
on the left fan.

Start off by closing the umbrellas. When you are about to go off the cliff
simultaneously open the umbrellas and start the right fan. As soon as you
land close the umbrellas. While you are going down the hill activate the cola.
Right before you hit the star box open the umbrellas. If you timed it right
you should land on the ledge above the TNT. Turn off the right fan and turn on
the left one.

Turn on your fan. Turn it off when you are about to hit the wall. Once you
rise above the hill and are about to reach the big group of crystals turn the
fan back on and pop one of the balloons on the right. You should be heading
straight for the star box. As soon as you hit it release the sandbag on the
right. Once you are over the map piece pop all your remaining balloons.

Turn the fan on. Once you rise above the hill and are about to reach the big

process. Your momentum should then carry you to the map piece.

Turn on the rotor. Once you are over the hill turn it off. After landing
on the hill let yourself roll to the bottom. Then turn it on until you are
over the hill above the star box. Land on that hill then use the rotor as
needed to reach the star box. After hitting the star box, turn off the
rotor and let yourself roll backwards then alternate the rotor on/off
until you reach the hill with the map piece. Land and roll to the goal.

Start off by simultaneously activating the rotor and the
fan on the left. Alternate using the left/right fans as needed to make it
through the vertical shaft. Once you are clear make sure the left fan is on.
As you near the ceiling repeatedly turn the rotor on/off so that you
SLOWLY begin to descend. Use the left/right fans to line up with the star box.
BE PATIENT, if you graze the TNT you'll have to start over. Once you are
directly over the star box pump the rotor so that you gently land on it.
After collecting the star box, turn on the rotor. Once you are clear of
the TNT turn on the right fan the pump the rotor so that you start to
descend into the vertical shaft. Use the fans as needed. Once you are level
with the map piece use the left fan to reach it.

way down the shaft. You may feel tempted to just turn off the rotor
to fall quickly but this is a mistake because it will actually take longer to

Alternate turning the propeller on the left on/off so that you slowly make

the right propeller. The instant you hit the star box turn on the rotor and
turn the left propeller off. Once you're back on level ground turn everything
off and come to a complete stop.
Activate the propeller on the right. When the back wheel reaches the tuft of
grass turn on the rotor. Your vehicle will proceed right and will repeatedly
bang against the ceiling (that's okay).
Once you are over the shaft leading down, turn on the left propeller and turn
off the right propeller. Pump the rotor on/off till you land then turn it off.

Use the bellows to move your vehicle right. Pop a balloon when you reach
the second stalactite. Continue using the bellows to move right and hop the
gap with the TNT. When you fall off the ledge activate the fan. Once you hit

Use the bellows and fan to navigate the tunnel as you ascend. Grabbing the
left star box is definitely the trickiest part; as soon as you can you need to
start pumping your bellows to reach it then activate the fan so you can move
far enough to the left to avoid popping your balloons.
Once you have reached the uppermost ledge, pop one balloon on the left and one
on the right. Land on the ledge next to the star box, let the fan push you
into it then pump the bellows to hop over the ledge so you can continue down
to the hat.

Use the bellows to get over the "hump". If necessary turn the fan off for a
second if it looks like you'll hit the overhang. Use the fan as needed to
land on the star box. Once you've hit it, make sure your fan is on then drop
your first sandbag.
Once you are over the next hump, pop one balloon on the left and one in the
middle. Your goal is to drop your second sandbag between the second and
third TNT, use your bellows as needed. Once you are above the hat quickly
pop your remaining balloons.

the star box. Once you are there, pop your remaining balloons and turn off the
propeller. Activate your cola right before you reach the skull. If you timed
it right your vehicle should fall down and hit the skull.

Start the propeller to move forward. Once you are above the "ramp" pop one of
the balloons on the right. When you get near the top of the ramp you need
to turn off your propeller till you stop climbing then turn it on again. Your
goal is to make it over the hump without popping any balloons on the ceiling.
Once you reach the next smooth section turn it off again. You want to land
on top of the star box so use the propeller as needed. Once you've landed
turn the propeller on till you near the next star box. After landing on the
star box you can turn your propeller back on for good.

There are three "paths", we are taking the bottom one. Start the propeller
then use the rotor to hop the speed bump. We want to go up onto the ramp
above, use the propeller as needed.
Continue heading right over the TNT box. Now descend towards the star box.
There is a TNT box beside it but don't worry, you can detonate it with your
rubber wheel and not sustain any damage.
After collecting the star box you need to descend. Turn off the propeller
and pump the rotor. Take your time, you need to go ALL the way down and it's
easy to get caught on the ramp and flip.
Once you've landed, use the propeller to roll forward then use the rotor to
ascend towards the goal.

We need the rocket here, but not for the reason you may think we do. The
rocket actually stabilizes your vehicle better than the tail, that's why
we're using it!
Start off by activating the propeller and the rotor. There are three "paths",
we are going to take the middle one. Use the propeller and rotor as needed
to make it through. One you reach the wall, turn off the propeller and pump
the rotor to descend. Take your time, you need to go ALL the way down and it's
easy to get caught on the ramp and flip.
Once you've landed, use the propeller to roll forward then use the rotor to
ascend towards the goal.
Now for the tricky part, the skull is up and to the left of the goal. It's
very easy to accidentally hit the goal and end the stage so you need to be
careful. Turn off the propeller and pump the rotor so that you are level
with the skull. You'll slowly inch your way left towards the skull.

This one is tough. The trick is being able to land upright after the first
jump with your rocket intact.
Activate your propeller. When you jump the ramp, count "One Mississippi" then
turn off the propeller. You should graze the star box then do some tumbles.
If you land upside down OR lose your rocket then restart.
Activate your propeller. When you are just about to reach the last stalactite
before the vertical incline activate your rocket. If you timed it right you
should go flying and end up landing on the hat.

Really tough to get the timing right; if you are having trouble you can try
getting just one star box at a time.
Turn on the propeller. When you reach the first hill turn the propeller off
then back on again. Your goal is to fly in a 'U' shaped path so that you
go down then turn the propeller on so you graze the star box on your way up.
Use the propeller as needed so that you reach the ledge with the second star
box. After hitting the box turn your propeller on and use it as needed to
reach the goal.

Close the umbrellas and activate the propeller. Turn the propeller off when
you start going up the small hill. You'll go down a large hill then hit a
ramp. When you land, activate your propeller and both rockets.
Now for the hard part: while in the air you'll do a back-flip, when you do,
open your umbrellas. If you timed it right you should land upright. Use
the propeller as needed to make it to the tall hill near the end. Turn off
your propeller and coast down the big hill. When you start to go uphill again
turn the propeller back on. You should have enough speed when you hit the
ramp to jump the gap and reach the goal.

Activate the propeller and motorized wheel, turn them off when you reach the
small hill. You'll head down a large hill then hit a jump. When you are about
to land turn the propeller and motorized wheel back on.
There is a series of four jumps. The trick is to turn off the propeller and
wheel right before you land then turn them back on after landing. You'll come
to a large hill with a tiny ramp near the top, you will need to turn your
stuff off to avoid flipping.
Now for the tricky part: when you start going down the hill, turn your
propeller and wheel back on. When you reach the bottom, activate both rockets.
If you timed it right, you'll go flying off the ramp and land right on the goal
with plenty of time to spare.

Activate the propeller and motorized wheel, turn them off when you reach the
small hill. You'll head down a large hill then hit a jump. When you are about
to land turn the propeller and motorized wheel back on.
There is a series of four jumps. The trick is to turn off the propeller and
wheel right before you land then turn them back on after landing. You'll come
to a large hill with a tiny ramp near the top, you will need to turn your
stuff off to avoid flipping.
Let gravity pull you down to the bottom of the hill then activate your gear
to start climbing. When you reach the top of the hill turn everything off.
Inertia should carry you into the tunnel with the skull. When you hit bottom,
you may need to activate the wheel to hit the skull.

Activate both rockets and the motorized wheels. You'll eventually hit a ramp
and do a back-flip, turn off your wheels. Let gravity carry you to the star
box, right before you hit it turn the wheels back on. While you are going up
the hill you will need to turn the wheels off then back on to avoid flipping
over.

D. Sand-Box
The Sand-Box consists of five extra-large stages each containing 20 star
boxes. You have a large number of parts and quite a bit of flexibility to
use your imagination here. More parts can be acquired by completing as you
progress through the game.
Two important things to note:
- As soon as you hit a star box it "counts", even if you pause and restart the
level it registers as being collected.
- Once you collect a star box, it disappears for good.

Activate the motorized wheels. As a general rule, close the umbrellas when
you are going up hill and keep them open when going downhill. About halfway
through the course is a star box nestled under a ledge. Turn off the wheels
as you near the top of the preceding hill then turn them on/off to get onto
the ledge. If you then turn them off you should roll backwards into the
star box. Activate the colas as you start up the final incline, if you timed
it right the nose of your vehicle should hit the final star box.

V. Game Review
Bad Piggies is a spin-off of Rovio's extremely popular Angry Birds. In Bad
Piggies you take control of the pigs as they try to recover pieces of a map
that will lead them to the Angry Birds' eggs.
In each stage your object is to build a vehicle capable of carrying your pig
from the starting point to the map piece. Like in Angry Birds, it is possible
to earn up to three stars in each stage. You earn one star for reaching the
map piece, others can be earned by completing various objectives such as
hitting a star box or reaching the map piece in under a certain amount of time.
Unlike Angry Birds, it's possible (and often required) to attempt a stage
multiple times in order to earn all three stars.
The game is divided into three parts. In Ground Hog Day you build ground
vehicles. In When Pigs Fly you take to the air. The Sand Box contains five
large stages where you are given lots of parts and leeway to build anything
you can imagine.
I have two major complaints about this game. This first is about the ads: they
are by far the most obtrusive I've ever encountered in an Android game. They
are full screen and will usually appear when you begin a level. However, they
will sometimes appear while you are building your vehicle or even after you've
started moving. To make matters worse, there is no ad-free version for sale
in the Google Play store.
My other complaint about the game is that the Angry Birds aren't in it.
After all that time spent killing pigs it would have been fun to be able to
turn the tables.
Bad Piggies is another great casual game from Rovio and is perfect for killing
time on your mobile device.
