What's New ============== [Version 1.1] - Added a hint/tip. [Version 1.0] - Finished the FAQ. ============================================================================== 3. Story ========= Long ago, in the Kingdom of Hyrule, there appeared a Wind Sorcerer named Waati. Vaati could bend the wind to his own will and used this aweful power to terrorize many villages of Hyrule. In his assaults on the villages, Vaati would kidnap any beautiful girls who caught his fancy. Many knights from the castle and other brave men set out to subdue the sorcerer and rescue the girls, but each one fell in turn to Vaati's awesome power. Just as people had begun to lose hope, a lone boy traveling with little but a sword at his side appeared. When this boy heard what was happening, he said only, "I will defeat this sorcerer." He boldly entered Vaati's palace, mystically trapped the evil sorcerer inside the blade of his sword, and returned the young girls to their villages. The boy then went deep into the forest and disappeared. The villagers asked the girls how a boy so young could have saved them all and defeated the sorcerer when no one else could. The young girls told a story of how with just the wave of his sword, the small boy's body shattered into four pieces, each of which then formed a completet copy of the boy. These four young boys then worked together to defeat the sorcerer. The people did not believe the story, but they called it the Four Swords nonetheless. As rumors of the blade's power to divide a person into four entities spread, the people buit a shrine to protect it. Princess Zelda of the land of Hyrule was a beautiful young girl born with the mysterious power to sense approaching forces of evil. For this reason, she was assigned with the sacred duty of protecting the shrine of the Four Sword and the blade itself. One day, Zelda was in Hyrule Castle when she sensed that something unusual was occuring at the Four Sword Shrine. She asked a boy named link, whom she trusted above anyone else, to accompany her to investigate the happenings at the shrine... ============================================================================== 4. Getting Started =================== Four Swords is a game for 2-4 players only. You will need: - A Gameboy Advance (SP) for every player there is. - Four Swords / A Link to the Past game pak for each player. - 1 link for 2 players, 2 links for 3 players, and 3 links for 4 players. Connect the game link(s) depending on how many players you are playing with. Then turn on the Gameboy Advance system(s) and go to Four Swords. You can then choose to watch or skip (By pressing start) the cut-scene. Once done, choose your world and begin playing. ============================================================================== 5. How to Play =============== There are 4 stages, each with there own features. You may select which stage you want at the stage selection screen. The four stages are listed here: Death Mountain: Lava and ash filled stage. Talus Cave: Covered with ice. Very slippery. Sea of Trees: A stage filled with trees, grass, and bushed. Chamber of Insight: This is only the tutorial for learning the basics of Four Swords. ============================================================================== 6. Four Swords Rule ==================== Work in a team to collect as many rupees as you can. Downed: When a player dies (also called getting downed), you have to pay a certain amount of rupees to revive the player. Everytime a player is downed, the rupees you have to pay will go up. Game Over: Unfortunately, if you are downed to many times, you get a game over and the game ends for everyone. Three Keys: There are three keys, one for each stage, that you get from a fairy everytime you beat a stage. When all three keys are collected, you can then enter Vaati's palace. Medal of Courage: These are awarded to the player who did the best (or collected the most rupees). The Metals of Courage you receive will be viewable at the file selection screen. ============================================================================== 7. Roc's Cape: This item allows you to stay in the air for a longer period of time than normal. Use it to jump over gaps or other obstacles. Hints and Tips ================== Sumbitted by Justin York: Go back to the level select screen again if you have beaten the game and choose a level. If you beat that level and you have 3000 or more rupees you'll get a gold key. Do this for every level and you'll probably get something in Vaati's palace. Do that again and this time try to get 5000 or more and you'll get the hero's key. I do not know exactly what will happen if you get the gold key and the hero's key. ============================================================================== 9.Ending Credits / Special Thanks ================================== Nintendo: For making this great game and a system to go with it.
