MARIO and SONIC at the WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES TABLE OF CONTENTS Intro Updates Characters Events Dream Events Festival Mode Party Games Shops Badges Records VIPs Blue Coin Locations Secrets Credits INTRO Hello this is my FAQ on Mario and Sonic at the winter Olympic Games. No one is allowed to put this on their site or copyright in any way. I also do not care about grammical or spelling errors so don't email me telling me about them. You can email me if you have any tips, records or questions at [email protected] Now back to the Olympics. To me this game is much better than the original: much more dream events, new characters and easier to play events. I am a Mario fan and have never played an only Sonic game so bear with me if my Sonic character descriptions are terrible. UPDATES These are all the things I updated in my FAQ. First I added stats to the character section. 2nd I did a best time to use special actions in each olympic event. 3rd I added a best character to use at for each event. Finally I finally got every single VIP for the FAQ. Lastly I got better at the game and got lots of better records. CHARACTERS All the characters come in 4 types: skill, all around, power, and speed. The stats that I listed are not 100% perfect so bear with me if the numbers are 1 or 2 points off. I also added stats for the costumes for characters that aren't playable(Dry Bowser, Birdo, Big, Espio etc.) in the mii section. My abbreviations are SD-speed, A-acceleration, P-Power, SK-skill ALL AROUND TYPE All Around Characters have all around stats obviously MARIO Everyone's favorite plumber is back to win some medals and show his team of people is lots better than Sonic's. He can jump super high, can turn into many different forms, and loves to eat mushrooms. He is rounded with acceleration, speed, skill, and power. Action button: spin around. Symbol: Red M STATS: SD:8 A:7 P:6 SK:7 LUIGI Mario's brother is back to play the Olympics. Good thing Boos are only in Festival mode otherwise he would freak out. Mario might be braver but that doesn't mean Luigi isn't either. Luigi is also an all around player but is a little bit stronger than Mario. Action button: torpedo. Symbol: Green L STATS: SD:8 A:6 P:6 SK:8 BOWSER JR. The twerp is back to help his dad win huge medals. As usual he is wearing his mask with the teeth. He fights Mario with all kinds of robots or monsters and rarely does the fighting himself. Bowser Jr. is an all around but has very high strength. Action button: spins on shell. Symbol: Bowser Jr. Face. STATS: SD:6 A:6 P:8 SK:8 BLAZE The guardian of the chaos emeralds. She is the princess and is very athletic. She has a imaginary bubble but under that has hidden emotions. Action Button: swirls around surrounded by fire Symbol: Blaze face STATS: SD:6 A:8 P:7 SK:7 AMY The girl friend of Sonic. Or that is what she thinks anyway. She has a nice attitude and always brings people out of bad moods. Apparently she is very good at using a hammer (according to the Sonic character book at the secret shop) Action Button: Spins around like Mario. Symbol: Amy face STATS: SD:7 A:6 P:7 SK:8 MII Your own personal character. You can make him/her like you or some strange looking person. He/she have all the same cheers as other all around players (which is pretty lame). He/She can not talk. Action button: spins like Mario and Amy. Symbol: the word MII DRY BOWSER-Power character SD:9 A:6 P:10 SK:5 DRY BONES-AA character SD:9 A:8 P:7 SK:8 BIRDO-Speed character SD:9 A:10 P:6 SK:7 Diddy Kong-Skill character SD:6 A:8 P:7 SK:9 Fire Mario-Skill character SD:8 A:7 P:6 SK:10 Bee Mario-Speed character SD:9 A:9 P:6 SK:6 Rouge-AA character SD:8 A:7 P:6 SK:8 Omega-Skill character SD:9 A:6 P:7 SK:10 Charmy-AA character SD: 8 A:7 P:8 SK:9 Espio-AA character SD:7 A:7 P:9 SK:9 Big-Power character SD:9 A:7 P:10 SK:6 Super Sonic-Speed character SD:10 A:9 P:6 SK:5 POWER TYPES Power characters have great speed and power, have OK Acceleration, and bad skill BOWSER The tyrant himself. It seems that his speed has increased a ton since the past Olympic Games. He always is trying to defeat Mario with bom-ombs, koopas, goombas, shy guys, hammer bros, spikeys, and cheep cheeps. He has very high strength. Action button: Tuck in shell and spin. Symbol: Bowser face STATS: SD:9 A:6 P:10 SK:5 DK Everyone's favorite monkey is finally here and is full of surprises. DK has a love for bananas and likes to throw barrels. His best friend Diddy Kong loves them too but Diddy is quick and DK is strong. Action button: Leaps in air. Symbol: Yellow DK. STATS: SD:9 A:7 P:10 SK:4 WARIO Enemy of Mario. Wario is very disgusting. He loves garlic and loves to fart at people. He has his own games like Warioware Inc. and Warioland shake it. He also is greedy and will do anything to get money. Action button: Fart to gain speed. Symbol: Purple W STATS: SD:9 A:6 P:9 SK:6 VECTOR The chief of his troops. He likes to listen to music because he is always wearing headphones. He is greedy too because he wears gold chains around his hands, feet, and neck. Action Button: Lies on the ground and squirms like a crocodile while music is surrounding him. Symbol: Vector Face STATS: SD:8 A:7 P:10 SK:6 KNUCKLES The power buddy of Sonic. His fists with the spikes on them can break almost anything. He is too confident of his own skills. Obviously because of his giant fists he is very strong. Action Button: twirls through the air. Symbol: Knuckles face STATS: SD:8 A:7 P:9 SK:7 SPEED TYPE Speed Characters have great speed and acceleration, OK skill and bad power YOSHI Yoshi is the loveable cute dinosaur who is normally found in spotted eggs (yoshi eggs). He loves to eat fruit and give Mario rides and something usually happens if Yoshi eats fruit while Mario is riding on him Very fast. Action button: Flutters in air. Symbol: Yoshi egg. STATS: SD:9 A:9 P:6 SK:6 DAISY Princess Peach's sister. She is the princess of sarsaland. She is in love with Luigi (I think). She is fun-loving and always is trying to prove she is better than Peach. She can run fast too. Action button: Leap on flowers. Symbol: Orange flower STATS: SD:9 A:8 P:6 SK:7 SONIC The speed demon of the entire world. He is always caring for others and collects rings. He mostly beats Eggman again and again and again. He can run super duper fast. Action button: rolls up in to ball. Symbol: Sonic face. STATS: SD:10 A:9 P:6 SK:5 SHADOW The enemy of Sonic. He was created by Dr. Eggman's great grandfather and he has pretty good stats. He is always saying he is the ultimate and looks exactly the same as Sonic. The difference is that he is black and red while Sonic is blue. Action Button: leaps surrounded by red and black stuff. Symbol: Shadow face STATS: SD:9 A:10 P:5 SK:6 METAL SONIC The exact copy of Sonic only metallic created by Dr. Eggman. Metal Sonic has all the same stats as normal Sonic except Metal Sonic has less skill and more power. To me Metal Sonic is better than Sonic mostly because he is cooler. He is cooler because of his sinister laugh. Action Button: blasts like a rocket. Symbol: Metal Sonic face STATS: SD:9 A:9 P:7 SK:5 SKILL TYPE Skill characters have great acceleration and skill, have OK speed and bad power WALUIGI Enemy of Luigi. He is Wario's sidekick who helps him cause trouble and play tricks on people. He is tall and thin unlike Wario who is short and fat. He is very graceful (or pretends like it). Action button: Swim in the air. Symbol: upside-down yellow L. STATS: SD:7 A:6 P:5 SK:10 PEACH Princess of mushroom kingdom. She is always kidnapped by Bowser and she wears a pink dress. She has a sister named Daisy. Peach is always saved by Mario and has developed a love of him. She isn't always kidnapped though; she is the star of Super Princess Peach where she saves Mario and Luigi from Bowser. Action button: Leaps and is surrounded by hearts. Symbol: yellow crown STATS: SD:8 A:7 P:6 SK:9 DR. EGGMAN The bad guy from Sonic. He is trying to turn the world into EggmanLand. Sonic always beats him though (but it would be interesting to see EggmanLand). Dr. Eggman is very tall and isn't that great of a character. Action Button: spins like tornado. Symbol: Eggman face STATS: SD:8 A:6 P:6 SK:10 TAILS Sonic's flying friend. He can fly with his two spinning tails and he has pretty decent speed two. He is pretty shy and is yellow. He apparently is a mechanical genius and can fix anything. Action button: spins his tails speeding him up. Symbol: Tails face STATS: SD:6 A:8 P:7 SK:9 SILVER A psychic silver hedgehog. He looks pretty similar to Sonic. He comes from the future and can fly and make other objects fly to. Action Button: jumps and is surrounded by psychic green power. Symbol: Silver face STATS: SD:7 A:7 P:6 SK:9 EVENTS There are many events in this game some can be played single or team. There are 27 events not including the events that are played team that can be played singular. At every event you can do a start dash by swinging the remote down when it says 0 or Go. I did not include any controls with the nunchuck. Sorry but I never played with it. In any event except Figure Skating Skeleton, Bobsleigh, Ice Hockey, and Curling you can use the action button at any time. In any event with skis except ski jump if you are going slowly you can swing the remote down to accelerate. Whenever I say swing I mean the remote. ALPINE DOWNHILL Description: a race through flags. How to win: Have the fastest time Controls: Swing Wii remote up=brake, left/right=turn Tips: As long as you go through all the flags you have a guaranteed win, but if you miss 1 or 2 it won't matter because the com is very bad at this game. You can do a small speed boost if you touch the inner side of flag. WARNING: you lose time for missing a flag and going through a flag does not count Best special action use: at the beginning to give you max speed the entire race (unless you miss a flag) Best characters to use: Sonic, Shadow, Metal Sonic, Daisy, Yoshi for their high speed and acceleration if you crash into a flag ALPINE GIANT SLALOM Description: race through flags How to win: Have the fastest time. Controls: Swing Wii remote up=brake, left/right=turn Tips: same as DOWNHILL Best special action use: same as DOWNHILL Best characters to use: same as DOWNHILL INDIVIDUAL SKI JUMP Description: a competition to get the farthest distance How to win: get the most points. Points are earned for distance and balance. Controls: Swing Wii remote up=jump and keep balance by turning the Wii remote left if high wind pointing right, right of high wind pointing left or keep still if arrow pointing up or down. Tips: If the wind is 3.9m or lower no significant change will happen so you can hold the wii remote straight. If it is 4.0m or higher turn the remote the opposite way the wind is pointing. Leap at the tip of the ramp. At the end swing the wii remote down like a rocket dash. Best special action use: right after you jump Best characters to use: Any character will do the job but the ones who jump the farthest are the light ones(Bowser Jr. Tails, etc.) TEAM SKI JUMP Description: a competition to go the farthest distance and get the most points. How to win: get the most points. Controls: same as above Tips: same as above except you jump 4 time: 1 for each person Best special action use: same as IND. SKI JUMP Best characters to use: same as IND. SKI JUMP MOGULS Description: a competition to get the most turns points How to win: get the most points. Points are earned by how many turn points you get, how fast you go, and how many tricks you do. Controls: swing remote left/right to collect turn points. Swing up=jump. Swing the remote in the pattern to do tricks. Tips: turn as quick as you can. If you get 18, 19, 20, 21, or 22 turn points you will win and if you get 22 points you get a badge. Best special action use: never or at the very end because if you go too fast you will miss some turn points Best characters to use: Any character SKI CROSS Description: a race to the finish on skis. How to win: have the fastest time. Controls: swing wii remote up=jump and left/right to turn Tips: You might think about going through the patches of snow with the flags as a shortcut. You are wrong. I used to think that too but I got faster times going around than going through the shortcut. Best special action use: near the beginning to give you the most max speed time Best characters to use: Sonic, Shadow, Metal Sonic, Daisy, Yoshi, (Wario*) for their high speed and acceleration. *On 3 of my 4 accounts I have gotten Ski Cross records with Wario so it could just be me but I think he is a good ski crosser HALFPIPE Description: a competition to get the most points How to win: have the most points. Points are earned by performing tricks. Controls: swing remote up=jump, while in air swing remote in any direction to perform tricks. Press any directional button and swing the remote in the pattern to do a super trick. Tips: This to me is the hardest event in the game. What my strategy is to do three normal tricks and then a super trick. It works for me it may or may not work for you but as I said I am not good at this event. Best special action use: never becaus eif you go too fast you won't perform as many tricks. Best characters to use: Any characters SNOWBOARD CROSS Description: to race to the finish on a snowboard How to win: have the fastest time Controls: swing up=jump, left/right turn shake wii remote in air to perform tricks Tips: same as Ski cross except you can perform tricks. Best special action use: near the beginning to give you the most max speed time Best characters to use: Sonic, Shadow, Metal Sonic, Daisy, Yoshi for their high speed and acceleration SPEED SKATING 500M Description: a race to see who can get the fastest time How to win: have the fastest time Controls: swing the Wii remote left/right in rhythm. At the end shake it as fast as possible Tips: If you get a number of perfects in a row you get a speed boost depending on your character type. Speed 5, All Around 4, Power 4, Skill 5. Also the higher the number the longer the speed boost. Best special action use: either during the beginning straight(no swinging remote) or the ending straight Best characters to use: Sonic, Shadow, Metal Sonic, Daisy, Yoshi because if you get 5 perfects in a row with them you get a very good speed boost. Do that over and over and you will get a good record SHORT TRACK 1,000M Description: a race to get the fastest time How to win: have the fastest time Controls: tilt the remote left on the yellow path, shake remote on normal ice. Tips: Once you learn how and when to tilt the remote you get into rhythm and you start going really fast. Best special action use: never or the very last tilt Best characters to use: Sonic, Shadow, Metal Sonic, Daisy, Yoshi for their high speed SHORT TRACK RELAY Description: a race to get the fastest time as a team How to win: have the fastest time Controls: the exact same as Short track 1,000m except when you pass the baton swing down at the right moment. Tips: The same as Short track but when you pass the baton if you do it at the right time you will get a speed boost. Best special action use: same as SHORT TRACK 1,000 Best characters to use: same as SHORT TRACK 1,000 FIGURE SKATING Description: a competition to get the most points How to win: get the most points. Points are earned by performing tricks. Controls: Swing up/down on yellow spots depending on the arrow, spin on green swirl spots, and swing up to jump on red star spots. Tips: If you swing in the center of the star and yellow spot you will get a perfect which will give you more points. You can also swing the remote like a composer's stick (not sure what called) and you will get bonus points. Do it at every opportunity and you will get very high records. Best characters to use: Peach, Waluigi, Dr.Eggman, Silver, Tails. Not sure if this is true but I think skill characters get more points than other characters or I just get good records with them SKELETON Description: a race down a pipe track alone to get the fastest time How to win: have the fastest time Controls: Press the wii remote up towards your shirt and lean left /right or you could do the easy way just move the remote left/right. Tips: No matter what under any circumstances ever go off the yellow path. If you do you will go slow and have a bad time. If you stay on the path you can go to very high mph and go super duper fast. WARNING: If you go very fast and crash into a wall you will get knocked off your board and you will have to shake the remote to gain balance. Best characters to use: Bowser, DK, Wario, Vector, Knuckles. Power characters can turn easier letting them stay on the yellow path longer BOBSLEIGH Description: a race down a pipe track as a team to get the fastest time How to win: have the fastest time Controls: same as SKELETON Tips: Same as SKELETON but the path is bigger so it is easier to stay on hence the faster record. Best characters to use: same as SKELETON ICE HOCKEY Description: a competition to get the most points. How to win score the most goals Controls: On offense: Press 2 to pass, 1 to change players, shake to shoot. On defense: 1 to change players, 2 to steal the puck, and shake to do a steal. Tips: 1 trick I use is to shoot at the goalie to make him/her dizzy then get the rebound and shoot and it always goes in. You can also pass a lot of times until it is yellow and is covered in sparks and then you can shoot a power shot. It differs between character types. The shot will fail if it hits an opposing teammate. Speed: puck gets light speed but can be caught sometimes makes goalies dizzy. Power: puck gets surrounded by fire and normally goes in or makes goalie dizzy. All Around: my least favorite one it is covered on yellow-green and almost never goes in. Skill: This can go in if you are on the opposing team's side. What it does is cover the ball in green stuff and goes towards the goal at a strange angle and can go in. Best characters to use: Bowser, DK, Wario, Vector, Knuckles, Sonic, Shadow Metal Sonic, Daisy and Yoshi. I tend to like to have 2 power characters because of their often dizzying shots and great power shot, and have a speed character bring the puck up and pass to the power characters. I use AA characters or Skill characters for goalie CURLING Description: a competition where players roll stones offensively and defensively to get the most points. How to win: get the most points. Points are earned by how many of your color stones are closest to the center. Controls: In the beginning Hold A and swing the remote like bowling. Then tilt the remote in the direction you want it to go. Then shake the remote to keep the speed and power that you want. Tips: You can knock your opponent's stones out of the circle by hitting it with your stone really hard. You can block 1 of your stones by rolling 1 in front of it. Best characters to use: Bowser, DK, Wario, Vector, Knuckles. Power charcters can easily knock opponent stones away making them an important part of any team in some cases DREAM EVENTS Dream events are many of the same events played with items and playing in Mario/Sonic locations with some very strange ones too. I will also include item descriptions. In any event with coins or rings collect 5 of them and you get another action button move! The best characters are the same as their olympic counterparts except for SNOWBALL FIGHT and GLIDING which don't have olympic counter parts. I am not listing special action uses because you get more than 1. SINGLE DREAM ALPINE Description: same as Downhill and Giant Slalom How to win: same as Downhill and Giant Slalom Controls: same as Downhill and Giant Slalom Items: Shoe: speed boosts, Star: invincibility, Bomb: set bombs in front of opponents, Green Turtle shell: shoots turtle shell that bounces off walls to hit opponents. Red Turtle shell: homes in on opponents. Lightning: hits opponents with lightning. Fake item boxes: look like item boxes but are not and will make you. Re-action button: lets you use the action button again. Tips: This is much more fun than downhill. Firstly, you don't need to go through the flags. They do give you speed boosts though and red gives a big speed boost and yellow=small speed boost. Secondly, you get to use items. TEAM DREAM ALPINE Everything is exactly the same for team and single except for all your teammates times combine d and added up for a final score and 2 items the warp ball and star panel. Warp balls if you are in 1st will teleport the person on your team in last up to you and star panels you must collect as many as your number of teammates and you all become star SINGLE DREAM SKI JUMP Description: Fly through space collecting star bits and star panels How to win: get as many star bits as you can. Controls: Jump same as ski jump, tilt up/down/left/right to go left, right, up, down. Items: same as Dream alpine New items: Star panel: collect 3 for score times two. Tips: Star bits come in many different ranks; Green 10 pts, Purple 30 pts, Orange 50 pts. For Star panels I recommend getting 3 near orange star bits because they are worth 100 pts in star panel mode! At the end for the giant star shaped planet that you finish on land on 40 pts and you will slide over to the 100 pts. You MUST be accelerating not slowing down otherwise it does not work. TEAM DREAM SKI JUMP Same as top but your team collects star bits and you add up the totals and that is your score. SINGLE DREAM SKI CROSS Description: compete in a Mario kart match and aim for the fastest time. How to win: have the fastest time. Controls: Same as Ski cross but you can perform tricks Items: same as dream alpine Tips: Watch out for Goombas and Piranha Plants. Also when you have a choice of coins or items always go for the items. To me items are more worth it because you can get a running shoe which is much better than an action button. TEAM DREAM SKI CROSS Just like Dream Alpine the same items and everything. SINGLE DREAM SNOWBOARD CROSS Description: a race on snowboards for the fastest time How to win: have the fastest time Controls: swing up=jump, swing left/right=turn, shake while in air to perform tricks. Items: same as dream alpine Tips: GRIND!!! There are so many places to grind and it is faster than normal snowboarding. My strategy is when there is springs near the end that bounce you really high turn left/right whichever you are closest to. Then keep your balance and you are grinding. TEAM DREAM SNOWBOARD CROSS Same as single dream snowboard cross except all participants' times are added up for a final score. DREAM SHORT TRACK Description: a race through Eggman's base on skates How to win: have the fastest time Controls: swing remote back/forth on green and straight areas. Tilt it left/right whichever the curve goes. Swing down to pass the baton. Swing up=jump Items: same as dream alpine Tips: Just play this like a short track match and watch out for screws and crates. DREAM FIGURE SKATING Description: a competition to get the most points How to win: get the most points Controls: exact same as Figure Skating Tips: This is very fun. It comes in 2 versions: Mario and Sonic. Mario's is when everyone teams up to get a star that is flying away. Sonic's is when everyone teams up to collect the 7 emeralds and defeat an evil monster. Use the same strategy as Figure skating: use the baton strategy and you will get a high score. NOTE: the com. gets the same score you do. DREAM BOBSLEIGH Description: a race through space and time down a pipe track How to win: have the fastest time Controls: same as bobsleigh Items: same as dream alpine Tips: collect as many colored balls as possible. After you get about 200 or so you will get a speed boost and when you get more you will go very fast! DREAM ICE HOCKEY Description: a competition to get the most goals using Bowser Castle obstacles. How to win: have the most goals Controls: same as ice hockey New Items: Mega mushroom: make bigger. Auto charge puck: turns the puck automatically to charge shot. Bomb puck: explodes after a certain amount of time. POW button: makes everyone on the opposing team stagger. Turtle shell: makes the puck a turtle shell. Tips: get the question mark swirl! It can give you a lot of help like make each goal worth 3pts. Also the charge shots are better. These power shots can not be stopped by crashing into opponents. Speed: same as Ice hockey except it moves around the stage before going straight to the goal making it confusing. Power: same as Ice hockey except more powerful. Skill: goes slow at first and then suddenly speeds up a lot like Speed. All around: zigzags to the goal. DREAM CURLING Description: a competition to get the most points How to win: knock down the most pins Controls: same as curling New items: Bomb: turns stone into bomb. Red turtle shell: turns stone to red turtle shell with homing qualities. Tips: use the walls as much as possible they can help you get much more pins. Knock down the goomba to get 5 points DREAM SNOWBALL FIGHT Description: a competition to get the most points How to win: get the most points. Points are earned from hitting opponents or the giant snowman or the bricks (sometimes). Controls: use arrow to move, swing to throw snowball, press B to lock onto target. New items: 15 snowball: gives you 15 more snowballs. Charge snowball: gives you a special throw depending on your type. Tips: watch out for Bullet Bills. If they crash into you they will make your team lose 5pts. You can throw a snowball at it to make it change direction. I like to stand at the line so you can get the items which help a lot. The types of charge shots are: Power: a red snowball that auto kills opponents. All Around: shoots 3 yellow snowballs. Speed: shoot 3 continuously blue snowballs. Skill: shoots a green snowball that splits and homes in on characters NOTE: while in Mega or using charge shots the points will keep going higher up to 5 per shot. Charge shots always kill the target if all snowballs hit the opponent. Best characters to use: Bowser, DK, Wario, Vector, Knuckles, Peach, Waluigi, Dr.Eggman, Silver, Tails. Power characters because they have the most snowballs and Skill characters because they have the best special shot DREAM GLIDING Description: a competition in the sky to get the most points. How to win: knock down the most robots/opponents Controls: lean remote towards you to go up and away to go down. Lean the remote left/right to go left and right. You can also shake the remote to turn the opposite direction. Tips: This to me is the hardest dream event. Also it is very hard to find the VIPS here. Knock down opponents to get 10pts, red robots 2pts, and yellow robots 3pts. Best characters to use: Any characters TEAM DREAM GLIDING Same as Gliding except you don't have separate scores you only have a big total one FESTIVAL MODE Festival mode is a 17 day competition to get the most points. You can get points by taking 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in events or by beating rivals or beating training sessions. The max score to get on single is 281 and on team 221. Look above for strategies for events. Tips: For your rank you get a certain amount of turns: 1st=12, 2nd=10, 3rd=8, and 4th=7. Shoot as fast and accurately as you can and then block other people's shots with your crosshair. WHEEL CHALLENGE Description: a competition to get the most points How to win: have the most points. Points are earned either by beating the leader, being the leader and taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Or you can get points by winning a team event. Controls: If it is you turn press A to stop spinning the wheel. Then you all play an event and whoever's face the wheel landed on is leader. Then you get points depending on either of anything listed in the how to win section. Strategy: If you are a high experienced player (like me) you always want to be leader. Being the high experienced player means you probably win every event so you get 30 points. If you are not high experienced hope that you are not Leader. Because if you are and you take less than 1st you will get 10pts taken away from you for each person who beat you. PANEL FLIP Description: a competition to get the most panels covered with your color (red, blue). How to win: cover the most panels with your color red (if you are battling the com). Controls: whoever's turn it is picks an event. Then you play. Finally you use the arrows to move Items: Chao: makes a whole row or column of your color. Lightning: makes an opponent lose his/her turn/ Lakitu: picks up a character and places him/her to any designated area. Running shoe: gives you one more mobility. Boo: steals opponent's mobility. Tips: Go for the item boxes without a thought. Even if you get no panels covered it is still worth it. SHOPPING Shopping is a good change of pace from all of the events. There are 5 stores Secret, Music, Sports, Boutique, and Library. You should buy everything in every store because there are 5 badges for getting all items. I will not list every thing in the sports shop, boutique, music room, or library. MUSIC ROOM You can buy any music that you have heard from the game here. Also you can buy some Mario/Sonic songs too. Those Mario/ Sonic songs can be played during events after you buy the music request item (look at the Secret shop section). SECRET SHOP Here you can buy many things. Music request item lets you play any Mario/Sonic song you have bought from the Music Room (above). King ghost pass lets you race the best time.
