How to Play Spherebreak - Guide for Final Fantasy X-2

Here's how spherebreak works.

Menu

Here you must select 4 different coins and use them as entry coins. You can
get them by digging in the desert. You then go to the Game Screen.

Main Game Screen

Ok. The number in the very center is the core. The orange coins around it
are the entry coins you chose. The outside coins are the border coins.

Upper Left Hand Corner of Game Screen

Time is how much time you have left until you lose. You must make a
successful move to reset the time and end your turn. The quota is how many
"points" you have to make within he given amount of turns to win. Turns is
your current turn/total turns. You must make a spherebreak (see below) to
end your turn.

Optional Info

Below the above info, you may see MULTIPLIER ECHO and COIN COUNT ECHO. These
echoes are found on some entry coins. MULTIPLIER ECHO is an echo that is
activated when you make continuous spherebreaks that multiply the core by
the same amount. For example, the core is 2 and you select an entry coin of
1 and a border coin of 3. Next turn the core is 5 and you select an entry
coin 4, a border coin of 4, and another border coin of 2. If done properly,
you will see the words ECHO BONUS appear, which adds a bonus to your quota.
COIN COUNT ECHO is an echo that is activated when you make continuous
spherebreaks that use the same amount of coins. For example, the core is 2
and you select an entry coin of 1 and a border coin of 3 again. The core is
5 the next turn, but this time you select an entry coin 4 and a border coin
1. If done properly, you will see the words ECHO BONUS appear, which adds a
bonus to your quota. Each time you consecutively activate echoes, you will
see the multiplier (starts at x0) rise up one. The higher it is, the more
quota you will receive as a bonus. If you miss activating an echo, it will
go back to x0. Note that you must use border coins to get any quota at all.

Rules

To win in spherebreak, you must meet your quota by the end of the given
amount of turns. Quota is obtained by using border coins (the purple coins
on the outside). But to get any quota at all, you must make spherebreaks. To
make one, you must first choose an entry coin. Then you can choose another
entry coin or a border coin. Add up the numbers on both coins. Then, keep
adding up coins until it makes a multiple of the core number. Reach the
quota and you win!

Tournament

There is a tournament in Chapter 3 in Luca. You could get a dressphere as a
prize! See my FAQ (every dressphere) for details and look under Lady
Luck.

Misc. Info

Every turn, the # on border coins goes up one. They will disappear after 9.
They will also disappear after you select them for a spherebreak.

My Secrets

1. You can rarely get a couple of Garment Grids while playing spherebreak!
These are obtained by activating some border coins that say ITEM as an
effect. Such Garment Grids include Treasure Hunt.
2. Go to Kilika in Chs. 1 & 3 and go to east side of the docks. There is a
camera man there and he will let you see the new Youth League base. Talk to
him again in Ch. 5 and he'll take you there. Have you heard about the
Invincible accessory in the chest there? You probably haven't heard this
one! Your view is messed up, but believe me, go all the way to the left, go
up, go right and you'll be going up stairs. There is a yellow X on the map
moving around. Talk to it and the person will bribe you with 5 Georaperella
coins to leave. These are the ultimate coins! If you select it and choose
border coins, it will multiply the quota (not echo bonuses) by 4!
