==================
Introduction [INT]
==================

This is my first MMBN guide so bear with me if you would. MMBN 5 has a new twist:
Liberation Missions. Basically Nebula decides to screw up the peace by taking
over sections of the net, then putting you through hell to make things normal again.
Liberation Missions make things normal. The nice things about liberation are that
you get
to use some cool Navis (Proto man, Napalm man, Search man), and you get to
save. Basically it's like saving in the middle of fighting a boss. When your
 half way there it doesn't matter if you lose, so long as you saved. Quite
awesome. Oh so now you wanna have fun with this now?

DO NOT EMAIL ME ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN LIBERATION MISSIONS!

Okay:

==========================
How Liberation Works [HLW]
==========================

Liberations Missions are confusing and annoying the first time around, you'll like
it
after while though.

-=Laws of liberation=-

How to win - Liberate ALL dark holes and beat the darkloid (what a dumb name).
How to lose - everyone's hp drops to zip, don't lose it sucks...

-=Turns=-

Your Turn - it's your turn 'player phase'. You do something with each Navi:
 Liberate a Panel 'liberate'
 Special Move
 Heal / do nothing 'pass'
 Save (Only Protoman has this [except for the mission without him then Meddy
does]) 'save'
Evil Guy Turn - The bad guy's turn 'Darkloid phase' he usually does nothing unless
your near by
 in which case he'll attack you somehow. Then the fire doggy/swordy/hawk will do
something along the
 lines of hurting you or moving.

These will alternate until you win or lose.

-=Panel Types=-

Normal - Walk around on these.

Dark - Liberate these and they become normal panels. Gyroman can go across these.
Can have an item designated by a grey
square.
Dark Hole - Liberate these and they become normal panels, when liberated all panels
around them are also liberated. No one
can travel across these panels.
? - These have a nice random effect, it always helps you somehow.
Barriers - Find the key and these indestructable panels will dissapear.

-=Goal=-

After he briefs you Protoman (except for the mission without him) will tell you the
goal, how many turns to finish in.
You'll get a chip finishing within that time, and money finishing a few phase
beyond that time.

-=Battle=-

In order to liberate you'll fight battles.

Factors of the Battle:
a. chip screen comes up automatically
b. if you don;t win in three turns you fail the liberation
c. ifyou win in 1 turn you liberate 8 panels around the original panel, doesn't
work    for special abilities.
d. if there are panels beind you, you fight on both sides
e. if there are panels beside you you'll have a decreased area to fight in.

Well you should get the gist of it now onto the fun stuff.

==============
The Team [TEM]
==============

The good stuff, the team. My favs are Napalm, Search, and Protoman. You know about
mega man so Ill start with our leader:

--------
Proto Man
--------

Joins: Mission 1
LSC (Liberation Special Command): Wide Sword - Liberates three panels horizontally.
Charge Shot - Wide Sword (1)
Special Chip: Step Sword (2)

Advantages:
His HP is usually considerably ahead of the game.
He's Protoman.
Step Sword is the only long range sword.
Wide Sword is nice when enemies are isolated or nearby.

Disadvantages:
Becomes less useful toward the end of the game.
No long range attacks.

1. Wide Sword 2. Step Sword
[ ][ ][ ] [H][ ][ ]      [ ][ ][ ] [H][ ][ ]
[ ][ ][P] [H][ ][ ]      [P][>][>] [H][ ][ ]
[ ][ ][ ] [H][ ][ ]      [ ][ ][ ] [H][ ][ ]

P= Protoman
H= Hit Range
>= Movement

Strategy:

I like to use protoman as though he were were mega with out a charge shot for the
most part. But if he's in one of the situations where you gotta look both ways I
Use his charge shot almost exclusively.
----------
Magnet Man
----------

Joins: Mission 2
LSC: Magnet Barrier - Makes a barrier around team blocking attacks.
Charge Shot: Magnet Shot - Shoots a magnet that turns once.
Special Chip: NS Tackle(1) - moves forward until it hits an enemy or the edge of
the  field.
Blue magnet man may appear behind, doubling damage.

Advantages:
Awesome HP
Seeking Charge Shot
Barrier good for Shade and Cosmoman
Good for dark hole battles

Disadvantages:
less useful toward end of the game

1. NS Tackle
[ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ]
[M][>][>] [>][>][>]
[ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ]
M= Magnet man
>= Move

Strategy:

I use Magnet also as though he were Mega only always using the chrage shot
regardless
of the situation. NS Tackle is a brilliant utility with him as well.

--------
Gyro Man
--------

Joins: Mission 3
LSC: Bomb Liberation - bombs a panel and liberates it without any battle
Charge Shot: Whirlwind(1) - 3 panel whirlwind
Special Chip: Air Force(2) - bombs row of enemy panels

Advantages:
Skips over dark panels
Good for key finding

Disadvantages:
sorta low HP

1. Whirlwind          2. Air Force
[ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ]   [ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ]
[ ][G][1] [2][3][ ]   [G][>][>] [H][H][H]
[ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ]   [ ][ ][ ] [ ][ ][ ]

G= Gyroman
#= Number of Hits
>= Move
H= hit

Strategy:

Gyro and Napalm are the only two I don't use like Mega. Gyro I'm VERY careful
with HP for the fact his is sorta low. I never use the charge shot and I never
use him for the Bosses is I can avoid it. Very very evasive with Gyro.

-----------------------
Napalm Man (is awesome)
-----------------------

Joins: Mission 4
LSC: Napalm - Liberates 6 panels in the shape of a cross
Chargeshot - Holding b does an infinite machine gun. He has no charge shot. Cannot
be  done while moving.
Perces through panel hit.
Special Chip: Napalm(is awesome)(1) - Launches Napalm FIVE squares ahead. Exlodes
and does damage
to all surrounding panels IF it lands on the panel.

Advantages:
Fair HP
Napalm (chip) is good for fast deletes
Charge Shot is good for stationary viruses
Napalm (LSC) is excellent for Liberation.
He's Napalm Man, he's purple and good, that doesn't happen often.

Disadvantages:
...

1. Napalm
[ ][ ][ ] [H][H][H]
[N][ ][ ] [H][L][H]
[ ][ ][ ] [H][H][H]

N= Napalm Man
L= Where shot lands
H= Hit Range

Strategy:

I prefer hgis charge shot over using the folder any day just 'cause its so good. I
use Napalm(chip) when enemies are spread out and away from the center square and
there's no area disadvantages.

-----------------------
Search Man (is awesome)
-----------------------

Joins: Mission 5
LSC: Search Liberation - liberates any row of item panels forward
Charge Shot:
Lock and Unload - Cross hair appears on an enemy then fires a machine gun.
Special Chip - Satelity: Cursor appears and moves around, press A to stop it.
Cracks and damages that panel and damages the adjacent 4 panels.

Advantages:
Fair HP
Machine Gun anhilates stationary enemies somethin' nasty
Satelity is good for fast deletes

Disadvantages:
Pretty useless LSC until later missions

Strategy:

Charge shot, charge shot, charge shot. 'Nuff said.

-------------------
Meddy (is terrible)
-------------------

Joins: Mission 6, not that it matters
LSC: Twin Liberation - Meddy uses twin liberation and liberates a panel befoe her,
 then another navi liberates the other green square and all else panels between are
then liberated without
 need of a seperate battle for ech.
Charge Shot: Throws a pill that IF it lands it explodes vetically
Special Chip: Meddy Cap - Stronger version of charge shot

Advantages:
... (the soul isn't AS bad as the navi, I will give that, and only that.)

Disadvantages:
EVERYTHING!

Strategy:

I simply don't use her for anything unless I have to. But if I must I fight as mega
without
charge shot regardless of any underlining circumstances.

==============
Missions [MIS]
==============
Here I'll explain how I organize and do things, understand?
-=My Liberation Wisdom=-

- Every time proto's turn comes up save
- Napalm, Mega, and Magnet is awesome for liberation and battle
- Search, Proto are awesome for battle
- Meddy is totally worthless
- Gyro skips over panels
- Whenever there's a cluster of panels choose the LSC and Navi that will
effectively liberate a path forward

-=My Strategies=-

MY strategies are designed loosely, as in feel free to deviate for healing or item
panels I don;t mention to get
or that type of thing. But, for the most part the strategies are made to finish
under the desired time.
To get the SP chip that I know you want. So...

-=My Maps=-

My maps are for navigation and knowing what's what and where. When I refer to a
place on a map in my strategy I use
Coordinate pairs: For example - Liberate the Dark Panel (9,7) with Megaman. 9 is
across 7 is up so you would move across
9 spaces then up 7, and that would be the panel Mega would liberate. Simple enough?

My maps, due to the required web format, must be maximum 27 squares across so some
maps I'll will be unable to provide at
this time.

In my common lack of time some maps will be incomplete, It'll say so at the map in
some way.

My maps use a key. Since I don't feel like retyping the key over and over I'll post
it here and put a control + F code.

Key [KEY]
[-----------------------------------]

 S - Start            N - Enemy Navi
 a - Key 1            D - Dark Hole
 b - Key 2            1 - Barrier 1
 c - Key 3            2 - Barrier 2
 ? - Bonus Panel      3 - Barrier 3
 # - Dark Panel       H - Heart
 C - Battle Chip      Z - Zenny
 F - Bug Frags        ! - Trap
 O - Order Points     M - Mini Boss
 x - Item Panel yet to be discovered

-----------------------------
Mission #1 - Blizzard Man [1]
-----------------------------

You just Joined team Protoman, and it's your first mission. Basically you have to
get to BlizMan, let's go beat him up.
Target: 7 Phases

Team Members - Megaman Protoman

Virus Forecast:
Viruses - Mettaur, Champy, Powie, Cangard

Panel Info:
Darkholes - 5
Item Panels - 7
Mystery Panels - 2

Strategy
--------

1 Take Mega to the dark panel on the left. Save, move Proto beyond Mega to the item
panel.

2 Take Proto (save) to the fire dog, beat the life out of him, try to get a 1 turn
liberation. Item is 3 order points.
Take Mega to the dark hole. You know what to do.

3 Take Mega up the path and use Long Sword LSC. Item is a heart. Save, take Proto
up the path PAST the ?
to the item panel to the right. Use wide sword Item is Buster Up *

4 Take Mega to the Fire Dog, finish him, try for a 1 turn. Take Proto (save) to the
hole. Nail it.

5 Go get the mystery panel via the path you just cleard yp. Hope for a Major Hit
with someone.
Then take proto over to the panels in front of our good friend Bliz, wide sword.
Now take mega over and make soem noise.
If you can make 400 HP worth of noise - which I doubt - in this phase you'll get
BlizMan SP B.

--------------------------
Mission #2 - Shade Man [2]
--------------------------

Last game Shade Man exploded a record 6 times. Oddly he's requested another beating
this game. Not hard,
just go beat him up... Target: 9 Phases

Team Members - Magnet Man, Protoman, Mega Man

Virus Forecast - Drixol, CanGard, MettEX, Batty, Cactikill, The Little Beetle Thingy

Panel Info -
Dark Holes: 3
Item Panels: 8
Mystery Panels: 3

Strategy
--------

1 Magnet's HP is to high to waste a turn on his LSC so my strategy won't include
it. Take Mega to the panel on the right.
 Liberate it. Take Proto up to the horizontal row. Save and use widesword. Item is
2 order points. Take Magnet right.
pass the vertical row to the horizontal row. Take the farthest left out. Try for a
1 turn liberation.

2 Take Mega tothe Item Panel and use longsword. Item is HiCannon D. Take Proto to
the row on the right of the fire dog.
Use widesword. Have Magnet do the Dark Hole.

3 Have Proto Widesword it, Item is a Heart. Have mega longsword the row beyond
protoman. Item is order points x3.
Have Magnet do the bird. in the battle pick the NS Tackle Chip. Don;t move. once
you see a yellow flash below you, step back
and when the bird lands use NS tackle, good stuff.

4 Next have Mega Longsword the row 3 left and one up from Magnet Man. Than have
Proto widesword the three panels
between the dark holes. Have Magnet take the hold on the right side.

5 Then have Mega do the left Hole. Then have Magnet take one of the two planels
blocking shademan. Than take proto
to widesword the horizontal line left over.

6 Pick your best two Navis, then take the third one and have it Liberate the Middle
Panel. Have the Remainders beat
Shade. Those who manage the above in exact time of the above you'll be done 4 PHASES
(!!!) early. Receiving ShadeMan SP.
Good Job!

Mission #3 - Cloudman [3]
-------------------------

After a long chase you got Gyroman. He's good and quite useful today. Cloudman's a
sarchastic Jerk. Go beat him up.
Target: 9 phases.

Team Members - Protoman, Gyroman, Magnetman, Mega Man

Virus Forecast - Trumpy, Handi, MettEX

Panel Info:
Dark Holes - 4
Item Panels - 8
Mystery Panels - 2
Barrier #'s - 1, 2

Strategy
--------

1 Gyro skips over Dark Panels, so he's your best friend right now. Take Gyro to
the ? pane; on the left
(since he skips dark panels), then bring him back. Have proto widesword the row of
panels and mega long sword the column.
Have gyro do the mini boss and have magnet do the hole.

2 Have mega do the panel on the left and and have magnet do the miniboss. Use NS
Tackle =).
Now take Gyro through the winding path til it stops winding. hit the item panel for
barrier key 1.
Have proto go up now and use widesword at the end of the cleared path.

3 Next take Gyro to the area fathest back and bomb liberation to get a panel
adjacent to the item panel in the back.
 Assuming the beird cam up close have magent use NS on it =) to 1 turn it.
Hvae mega use longsword to enpty the colum so fire dog (who's been upgraded) has no
panels before him. Have proto 1 turn it.

4 Another fire dog might appar leave him alone and get the hole liberated with
mega.
then have proto widesword the row blocking the other hold and have magnet liberate
the hole. Gyro can liberate the
item panel for the second key.

5 Have proto go left to liberate the row. Have mega take the firedog and Magnet
liberate the hole.
You can havegyro bomb the Panel in front of cloudman but you won;t be able to use
him because of cloud's ability.

6 Take everyone to beat up cloudman and save the day, if done on this turn without
fail you get Cloud's SP.

Soon to Come Updates [STC]
==========================

In order of priority:

1. New Missions & Maps
2. Boss Strategies (for now check out the boss FAQ at gamefaqs.com)
3. A "Stuff That Has Nothin to do with Liberations" Section so you people will
leave me alone in my email!

Note: About every 4 days I'll have another mission up for you lest things are
running slow in my life (or iniative), and about 2 days afterward I'll have
a map up on that mission. So about every 6 days a full mission will be up. If
your unhappy with that too bad! I have a life!

  A: Look over the whole guide and if it's not there and this isn't a non

don't.

2 Q: Question that has nothing to do with Liberation Missions
  A: Find another guide, your unworthy to see mine =)

3 Q: This is a question that has nothing to do with the purpose of this guide.
  A: -_- imbecile...

4 Q: Why do you expect such high accomplishments in your strategies.
  A: I don't, I said that they were loose strategies, feel free to deviate.

5 Q: Why are you so sarchastic all the time?
  A: It's fun shut up!

The subject MUST say MMBN5 Liberation (x). x being what it is, question
comment suggestion blah blah blah. If you DON'T I'll delete it without a second
thought.
If it's not about Liberation missions I'll hate you and delete it.
Understand me? What that means is I don't answer non Liberation mission questions,
I'm not a walking walkthrough (the pun does NOT remove the seriousness of my words
=) ) don't ask me about stuff out of my
expertise understand?

I don't have time to talk to you, feel free to message me about the game but
