[MS1] Hey! I’m back with another walkthrough! Ya know, I spend all day on these
things, and I normally get done one in 2 days cuz I’m constantly working on
them. I have gotten lots of emails from readers! (THANKS YALL!) Most are
comments, but some are questions. So, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, what
a great game! This will be my third walkthrough! I never thought I’d get this
far… but none the less I feel very proud of myself, but not proud because I keep
putting off homework! Oh well, who cares! I’m just glad to be helping out fellow
gamers. What’s special about this walkthrough, is that it is also an FAQ. Wicked
right? I’ve spent a bunch of time on this, so enjoy! This will be my last
walkthrough by the way…JUST KIDDING!!-*Andi*

                                Controls

************************************************************************

Okay, some controls in the game. There are lots of different movement involved,
so I’ll try to explain it the best I can!

Move the Wii Remote:
-Move the cursor. Used in the Main Menu, when an event is paused, Archery &
Shooting Skeet Event.
-Move the Wii Remote in various directions in certain events. You can move it;
-Left and Right in Table Tennis and Dream Table Tennis to hit the ball
with your racket.
-Forward in Fencing and Dream Fencing to stab with your epée.
-Upwards in Long and High Jump to make the character jump.
-Quickly shake the Wii Remote in Trampoline and Dream Platform in
certain sequences.
-Spin the Wii Remote in a vertical clockwise direction in Hammer
	 Throw to gain power.
-Shake the Wii Remote downwards in Pole Vault to plant the pole. Hold A & B
while doing so in Javelin Throw to throw the javelin.
-Backwards while holding A & B in Archery to start aiming the arrow.

Move the Wii Remote & Nunchuck:
-This is perhaps the most used action. You can move them;
-Up & down to simulate running. Used in all Track events, Javelin
Throw, Long, Triple, and High Jump, Pole Vault, Dream Race, Vault, and with
characters with Dog Paddle in Aquatics events. Can also be used in Long and
Triple Jump after the jump to increase distance slightly, and in Vault again
if you land spinning to regain balance. Used in Pole Vault to gain recoil.
-Up one at a time(Remote first, Nunchuck second) in High Jump and Pole
Vault. Raise Remote again in Triple Jump to simulate the third jump.
-Left & Right to draw applause in certain events, and for characters with
Breaststroke Swimming Style in Aquatics events.
-Forward & Backward for characters with Crawl Swimming Style in
	 Aquatics events.
-Both upwards repeatedly for characters with Butterfly Swimming Style in
Aquatics events.
-Left & Right simultaneously for characters with Crocodile Paddle Swimming
Style in Aquatics events.
-Backwards simultaneously in Rowing to make the character row,
assuming you already pressed the sequence.

Move the Nunchuck alone:
-This is another movement action. It sees significantly less use than moving the
Wii Remote. It can;
	-Aim the arrow in Archery.
-Move your character slightly upwards in High Jump and Pole Vault to get
your character's body over the bar.

A: Accept an option in the Main Menu, pause screen, and 'before event'
screen, hold A and move the Wii Remote downwards in Table Tennis/Dream Table
Tennis to create a 'chop' shot. Hold A and move the Wii Remote in any direction
in Fencing to parry. Hold A in Hammer Throw to start the throw, and press it
after the throw to perform a shout. Used in Rowing, Trampoline, and Dream
Platform sequences. Press A & B simultaneously in Dream Fencing and Dream Table
Tennis to do a special attack.

B: Used in menus to return to the previous screen. Press B in Fencing to
do a 'feint', a fake stab, or in Hammer Throw to release the hammer. Hold B
while moving the Wii Remote to do a 'slam' shot in Table Tennis/Dream Table Tennis.

Z: Used in Rowing: Single Sculls
as a sequence.

C: Nothing.

+: Pause events.

-: Nothing

************************************************************************

Now it’s time for the character section! Silver and DK aren’t in this section,
because I know nothing of them. Sorry!

Take note that the majority of the characters have no variety or uniqueness in
their selection cry. Pretty much every Sonic character is like; "Let's do
this!", while every Mario character says their name.

Mii

Swimming Style: Crawl

The Mii is a weird character. They wear the same type of outfit that Peach and
Daisy wear. You can select from 6 'demo' Miis in the game, the ones you made in
your console, or any you stored in the Wii Remote. The
Mii's stats are not displayed, but as they share the same event 'discipline' as
Mario(i.e. They move the same way Mario does), I would say it's a safe guess
that they play similar to the plumber. Miis also do not have any missions. This
is only here for completeness.

[MS6]
                               Events

************************************************************************

Okay, events. Here are all the events, the ones you can automatically play, and
the Unlockables, and how to unlock them. I’ll also say a little help tip for
winning the event.

[MS6.1]
                         *Off the Bat Playable*

Athletics (Track)

100m:
Kick off from the starting block and sprint along the 100 meter stretch to the
finish line in as short a time as possible to win. The key to winning is to
perform a perfect starting boost. I find a good character to win this with is
shadow. But that’s just me.

110m Hurdles:
Kick off from the starting blocks and sprint toward the finish line as fast as
you can, leaping across the hurdles positioned along your path. You won’t be
penalized for knocking down the hurdles, but it will cost you valuable seconds
each time. Try to jump over the hurdles at just the right moment for a small boost.

Athletics (Field)

Long Jump:
Sprint down the runway and jump just before the foul line as far as you can into
the sand-filled pit. If your leap begins with any part of your foot in front of
the take-off mark, it will be a foul, and the distance will not be recorded. The
best of three attempts will be your final score.

Triple Jump:
Sprint down the runway toward the designated take off mark. Take a hop, step and
jump into the sand-filled pit. Start your first leap before the take-off maker
to avoid a foul. The best of three attempts will be your final score.

Hammer Throw:
Take the hammer in hand, spin on the spot to build up momentum, and release the
hammer in the direction of the landing area before the countdown runs out. The
further away it lands, the better you score. The best of three attempts will be
your final score.

Javelin Throw:
Sprint down the runway to build up momentum and throw the javelin as far as you
can into the landing area. Time your throw carefully to avoid crossing the foul
line, or the attempt will not be recorded. The best of three attempts will be
your final score.

Aquatics

100m Freestyle:
Dive in on the start signal and swim two lengths of the pool in the fastest time
to win. Don’t forget to breathe, or it will cost you valuable seconds in
recovery time.

4 X 100m Freestyle:
Four team members take turns swimming two lengths each. Each player should touch
the wall before the next player dives in. the first team to have all four
players’ complete two lengths wins.

Gymnastics

Trampoline: use the trampoline to propel yourself high into the air and perform
complex spins and somersaults. Your performance is judged how precisely you
execute. As you land, be sure to prepare yourself with a good high jump for the
next set of moves.

Shooting

Skeet:
Make your way through eight stations firing high and low airborne targets as
they’re released. You only have enough ammunition for one short per target, so
aim carefully. The player with the most total hits wins.

Fencing

Individual Epée:
Brandishing your epée, aim to touch your opponent anywhere on their body with
the tip of the blade to score a point. Use your defence skills to prevent your
opponent from doing the same. The first player to hit their opponent 15 times
wins the round.

Table Tennis

Singles:
Use your paddle to bounce the ball across the net into your opponents side, and
score a point if they fail to return it, allow it to bounce twice, or if their
shot doesn’t hit the table. The first to 11 points wins the round.

************************************************************************
[MS9]
                             Missions

************************************************************************

Okay, on to missions. I have a difficulty rating, (*= Super Easy. **= Easy.
***=Not Real Hard. ****= Hard. *****= Stupid Hard.) and a little tip on
completing the mission.

[MS9.1]
                      *Knuckles’ Missions*

Knuckles Mission 1: Athletics: Field: Javelin Throw
Throw the specified distance!
Difficulty: ***
Tries: 3
Distance: Between 40m and 50m

In this mission, you have to get the javelin to the specified distance within 3
tries. A bad throw is near-mandatory to get the distance you need. You can
experiment a little to see what the most optimal time to flick the Remote down
will be. Also, try to get the lowest speed possible. These aspects are the key
to intentionally getting low.

Knuckles Mission 2: Fencing: Individual Epée
Win after parrying!
Difficulty: **
Times to Parry: 5

In this mission, you have to parry your opponent 5 times during the match. A
parry consists of holding A and moving the Remote. The timing can be a little
hard, so look at your opponent. If their eyes flash, and they grunt, parry. This
will stun the opponent. You may also want to distance yourself slightly so that
the opponent won't score points.

Knuckles Mission 3: Shooting: Skeet
Shoot the fast targets!
Difficulty: ***
Targets to shoot: 2

You must shoot 2 fast targets out of the number that appear. This one will take
some practice with skeet. Try to get a Good if possible, to increase your
crosshairs. An OK can work, but a Good is easier. You may also want to try this
mission a few times to see the timing of the targets.

Knuckles Mission 4: Athletics: Track: 400m
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Vector

400m can aggravate you, if you don't know what you're doing. In general, high
Stamina characters do well in this event. Usually, what works for me is lightly
'drumming' the Remote and Nunchuck so that your character uses a very small
amount of stamina. Stamina only reduces if the character's blue energy in the
corner gets into the red area. At the final stretch, keep drumming slightly, and
when Vector gets tired, hold A and sprint ahead of him.

Knuckles Mission 5: Table Tennis: Singles
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Rival: Blaze

The only strategy here is to practice at Table Tennis. Blaze has the same AI as
a normal Table Tennis player. Abuse that.

Knuckles Mission 6: Dream Events: Dream Fencing
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Dr. Eggman

Dr. E is disadvantaged here. His fencing seems to be slightly slower than most
others, so use that to your advantage, and don't let your hit points drop.

[MS9.2]
                         *Bowser’s Mission*

Bowser Mission 1: Athletics: Field: Pole Vault
Recoil to clear the bar!
Difficulty: *
Times to do so: 2

In this mission, control is automatic until Bowser actually reaches the vault.
He will always plant a bad pole, so you have to get as much recoil as possible.
There's no strategy in this mission. Just shake the Remote and Nunchuck as fast
as possible and you'll be fine.

Bowser Mission 2: Athletics: Field: Javelin Throw
Throw the specified distance!
Difficulty: ***
Tries: 3
Distance: 50-55

Strategy is the same as Knuckles' Mission 1, except with a bit more luck
involved, as the distance it has to be thrown is smaller.

Bowser Mission 3: Athletics: Track: 400m Hurdles
Don't knock down any hurdles!
Difficulty: ****
Time to aim for: 45-53 sec.

This one is a bit intimidating, as you have to aim for a specific time, and not
hit any hurdles. With Bowser, it can be a bit difficult, as he can block a good
portion of the track with his size. But if it makes it any easier, 45-53 seconds
is about a 4th or 3rd place time, and place doesn't matter.

Bowser Mission 4: Athletics: Field: Hammer Throw
Throw the specified distance!
Difficulty: ***
Tries: 3
Distance: 50-55m

Same type of mission as Mission 2's Javelin Throw, except different. What you
should do here is not to build up power, and time it so that it will be thrown
in the center regardless. Too much to the left or right will result in you just
falling short, or possibly a foul.

Bowser Mission 5: Table Tennis: Singles
Smash the ball to win!
Difficulty: ***
Times to Smash: 7

Same as Knuckles' Mission 5, except hold B and time the opponent shots. I
wouldn't hold B if the opponent smashes back, though.

Bowser Mission 6: Dream Events: Dream Fencing
Knock your opponent out of bounds!
Difficulty: **
Times to do so: 2

This mission is easy, if you're good at parrying. The opponent tends to be
fairly aggressive in this mission, which is bad if you're trying to get him or
her over to the other side. Parry when the opponent strikes, and then push him
or her forward by tapping forward twice. When you get enough power, and your
opponent is right at their end, use your special, or even better, parry and then
use your special, because your opponent will be stunned and unable to react when
parried.

[MS9.3]
                          *Vector’s Missions*

Vector Mission 1: Aquatics: 100m Freestyle
Get the specified time!
Difficulty: ***
Time: Between 48 and 51 sec.

If you're good at swimming events, you're probably going to hate this mission.
You have to move at a bit more of a restful pace and sometimes even miss-time
stamina boosts purposely.

Vector Mission 2: Rowing: Single Sculls
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Bowser

Even if Bowser doesn't, it's easier to get first in the race to guarantee
victory. Acceleration is determined by the remaining blue energy when you push
backwards. Press the buttons and push back quickly for the maximum acceleration.
(3 music notes.)

Vector Mission 3: Aquatics: 4x100m Freestyle
Get the specified place!
Difficulty: ***
Place: 2nd

Same strategy as Vector Mission 1. This can be a little hard if the computer
opponents are close fighting for first. If they aren't, move just behind the
computer in first place, but with caution, as you might overtake it and fail the
mission.

Vector Mission 4: Dream Events: Dream Table Tennis
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Rival: Yoshi

Yoshi has the same AI as a normal Dream Table Tennis player. Try not to let him
get a rally, and use your specials when he uses his.

Vector Mission 5: Shooting: Skeet
Shoot the fast targets!
Difficulty: ***
Targets to shoot: 3

Same as Knuckles' shooting mission, except you have to shoot 3 targets
instead of 2. Same strategy applies.

Vector Mission 6: Dream Events: Dream Race
Get the specified place!
Difficulty:
Place: 2nd

There's truly no strategy for Dream Race. It's entirely based on randomness. But
stay close to the first place racer, or the racers in general, and use any item
you can.

[MS9.4]
                           *Wario’s Missions*

Wario Mission 1: Table Tennis: Singles
Continue a rally!
Difficulty: ****
Rally: 12 passes without a miss

This is harder than it sounds. Practice at table tennis, and return all the
shots. This is easy. The hard part is getting the computer to co-operate. Try to
keep the shots easy to return, like a chop once or twice. Be careful when using
the chop, though. Sometimes you can overshoot and lose the mission.

Wario Mission 2: Athletics: Field: Long Jump
Jump perfectly from the foul line!
Difficulty: *
Tries: 2

There are some hidden things in this mission. In order to jump perfectly, you
not only have to jump near the foul line, but run at maximum speed, and get at
least a 'Good' on your jump form. If it helps, raising the Wii Remote at about a
90 degree angle a bit before the foul line can at least get a good.

Wario Mission 3: Dream Events: Dream Table Tennis
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Rival: Mario

Just a simple game of Dream Table Tennis. Use your specials to counter
Mario's, and make sure your backhand gets registered in the game. If it's too
soft, you'll whiff the ball.

Wario Mission 4: Athletics: Field: Javelin Throw
Throw as close to the foul line as possible!
Difficulty: *
Tries: 2

This one isn't all that daunting. Just throw any way you want, but make sure you
end up close to the foul line. If it helps, if you're at full speed, the time to
hold A & B and flick the Wii Remote down is at about 3/4 or so of the running area.

Wario Mission 5: Fencing: Individual Epée
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Mario

Fencing? This one's easy without specific goals. Generally, what I do is rush
backwards until Mario does a thrust, then rush forwards and stab him. Rinse and
repeat 14 more times.

Wario Mission 6: Athletics: Track: 110m Hurdles
Win and jump through the hurdles perfectly!
Difficulty: ****

This is one of the more annoying missions. You have to win the race, which is
easy, but you have to jump every hurdle so that Wario gets a speed boost each
time... which is hard. But for jumping perfectly, it's about a 1 second wait for
each hurdle, if you're going maximum speed. If you can't follow that, try
jumping as late as you can, when Wario nearly touches the hurdle, but not late
enough to make the hurdle fall down.

[MS9.5]
                            *Mario’s Missions*

Mario's Mission 1: Athletics: Field: Long Jump
Jump perfectly from the foul line!
Difficulty: *
Times to do it: 1

This one is easy. Just flick the Wii Remote upwards before the foul line, and
make sure your speed is maximum.

Mario's Mission 2: Aquatics: 100m Freestyle
Finish in the specified placing!
Difficulty: *
Place: 1st

The Crawl consists of moving the Wii Remote & Nunchuck (Or just the Wii
Remote, if you're Chuck-less) forwards and backwards repeatedly. But even then,
the key is the timing of your stamina. Press B when your stamina heart gives off
the bubble with the B button for the most optimal boost.

Mario's Mission 3: Shooting: Skeet
Shoot targets with the small crosshairs!
Difficulty: **
Targets to shoot: 1

Take advantage of the fact that you only need to shoot 1 target. When the target
gets into the crosshair area, quickly press B to shoot it. If you succeed, feel
free to waste your shots. Fantastico!

Mario's Mission 4: Gymnastics: Trampoline
Perform difficult moves consecutively!
Difficulty: **
Times to do so: 5

Tricks in trampoline consist of 3 things. A button, B button, and shaking the
Wii Remote. The criteria for performing a successful move is to pass the
sequence to perform the trick before the character lands on the trampoline
again. Do so 5 times in this case.

Mario's Mission 5: Dream Events: Dream Fencing
Win with a Special Move!
Difficulty: **

Play Dream Fencing like you normally do. Then, when the opponent's energy is
low, use your Special Move, assuming you have enough energy for it. If you
don't, build up power by parrying and feinting repeatedly.

Mario's Mission 6: Athletics: Track: 100m
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Rival: Sonic

Lots of people tend to have trouble with this mission. For me? I didn’t find it
that hard. Remember that the secret to running is based on the frequency of the
shaking, not the strength behind it. A perfect boost helps matters a lot, too.

[MS9.6]
                           *Amy’s Missions*

Amy's Mission 1: Aquatics: 100m Freestyle
Start at exactly the right time to win!
Difficulty: *

No problem here, aside from learning the breaststroke. Just moving the Wii
Remote and letting go of B when GO! appears should be enough for a good start.

Amy's Mission 2: Dream Events: Dream Platform
Get through the rings!
Difficulty: **
Specifics: 5 rings, you must hit the water first

Simple. Move Amy quickly to gain speed to hit the water, and slow down to hit
rings if needed.

Amy's Mission 3: Athletics: Track: 100m
Win with a starting dash!
Difficulty: **

Also simple. Just gain energy by holding B, and move the Wii Remote down and
release B at 'GO!' to get a good start.

Amy's Mission 4: Dream Events: Dream Table Tennis
Finish with a Special Move!
Difficulty: **

With this mission, you simply have to win the match by having Amy use one of her
Special Shots in Dream Table Tennis.

Amy's Mission 5: Fencing Individual Epée
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Peach

Any fencing strategy applies.

Amy's Mission 6: Athletics: Track: 110m Hurdles
Win with all perfect jumps!
Difficulty: ****

Exactly the same as Wario's mission. I suppose the difficulty in this mission
makes up for how simple the other ones were.

[MS9.7]
                          *Luigi’s Missions*

Luigi's Mission 1: Athletics: Field: Triple Jump
Jump perfectly from the foul line!
Difficulty: ***

You know the drill. Maximum speed, near the foul line, at least 'Good!' jumps.
The reason this is a 3-star is because you have to do good on ALL the jumps.
Which is harder than it sounds.

Luigi's Mission 2: Aquatics: 4x100m Freestyle
Aim for the specified time!
Difficulty: ***
Time: 3 minutes, 21 seconds to 3 minutes, 25 seconds

This mission seems simple, but like the previous swimming missions, you have to
slow down for the timer. If it helps, the time given is a rough 4th place behind
the other swimmers.

Luigi's Mission 3: Dream Events: Dream Platform
Destroy the blocks!
Difficulty: *****
Specifics: Destroy 6 blocks, hit the water first

Luigi's hardest mission by far. You have to hit 6 blocks by running into
them, and hit the water first. This is much harder than it sounds, because each
time you hit a block, you lose speed. While it can be hard to get to the water
first and hit 6 blocks, here are 2 ways you can do so without losing speed.

1. Use a Shield item. With this, you can potentially break 2 blocks at a time.
2. Perfectly move Luigi in an area with a ring next to a block. If you aim Luigi
right, you can hit the block and the ring at the same time, and not lose speed.

Luigi's Mission 4: Athletics: Track: 400m
Stagger to the finish line!
Difficulty: ****

This one can be annoying. You have to get low enough stamina to make Luigi slow
down right near the finish, and he staggers for very little time. Luck, and
practice are the keys. If it helps, try keeping Luigi's stamina around
half-full, or slightly less, then use it all up by the final stretch.

Luigi's Mission 5: Dream Events: Dream Table Tennis
Win and score ten points in one rally!
Difficulty: ***

Similar to Wario's Table Tennis mission, except with fewer points to gain.
Remember, the biggest problem comes from having the computer co-operate to
continue the rally.

Luigi's Mission 6: Dream Events: Dream Fencing
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Waluigi

Even if Waluigi's ability may be different, the strategy for him is exactly the
same as most fencers. The 'Rushing and Retreating' strategy works.

[MS9.8]
                           *Blaze’s Missions*

Blaze's Mission 1: Aquatics: 4x100m Freestyle
Finish in the specified placing!
Difficulty: *
Place: 1st

These missions are hard... unless you have to place first! Just do your team
swimming styles as fast as possible, and time your stamina boosts as good as you
can.

Blaze's Mission 2: Athletics: Field: Triple Jump
Jump perfectly from the foul line!
Difficulty: ***

Yes, we know. Full speed ahead, good jumps, before foul line.

Blaze's Mission 3: Athletics: Track: 400m
Pass your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Specifics: You get a 2 second handicap to wait before you start.
Rival: Amy

Most people find this mission hard, but I didn‘t find it real intimidating. You
have to wait two seconds, getting a boost is almost mandatory though, and race
up to Amy, pass her, and win. It may sound a little difficult, but it’s a lot
easier when it gets done.

Blaze's Mission 4: Gymnastics: Vault
Recover from a stagger on landing!
Difficulty: *
Times to do so: 2

No strategy needed. This is almost exactly the same as Bowser's Mission 1, where
control is automatic until the moment of truth. And the same technique applies,
what with the shaking the Wii Remote and Nunchuck as fast as possible.

Blaze's Mission 5: Athletics: Track: 110m Hurdles
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Rival: Peach

Fairly simple, assuming you're good at hurdles. Like in most non-final
missions, Peach has the same AI as in a normal Single Match of this, so she
isn’t a threat, if you keep a good speed.

Blaze's Mission 6: Dream Events: Dream Race
Win without colliding with other racers!
Difficulty:

This is a real annoying mission of Blaze's. Like most Dream Race missions, this
one is based entirely on luck. Just be careful, and try to get ahead as much as
possible, so that you won't have to worry about other racers.

[MS9.9]
                         *Sonic’s Missions*

Sonic's Mission 1: Athletics: Field: Long Jump
Jump perfectly from the foul line!
Difficulty: *
Times to do so: 1

Easy, easy. Maximum speed. Good jump. Before foul line.

Sonic's Mission 2: Athletics: Field: High Jump
Clear with jumps only!
Difficulty: **
Times to do so: 1
Specifics: Sonic has full power. (4 Music notes) Bar is 2.20m high.

Also easy. Gain high speed by shaking the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Flick up the
Wii remote by the end of the blue area.

Sonic's Mission 3: Dream Events: Dream Race
Finish in the specified placing!
Difficulty:
Placing: 2nd

Dream Races are very random. You could be literally seconds away from winning
and a barrage of several items from enemies, like a Boo, thunderbolt, and
another Boo will strike, and everyone will pass ahead. This event is all about luck.

Sonic's Mission 4: Dream Events: Dream Platform
Reach the specified speed!
Difficulty: ***
Speed: 170 mph
Specifics: You must hit the water first. However, you do not need to maintain
the speed of 170 mph and hit the water. You can simply reach it once and it will
count.

Hit as many rings as you can. This will increase your speed. You should hit 170
mph by about 2-3 rings hit. After that, feel free to lower your pace, but you
still have to hit the water first. If a koopa shell threatens that, move in a
large circle to avoid it. By the way, have you noticed that Sonic always wears a
life jacket in sports that involve water? Can he not swim or something?

Sonic's Mission 5: Athletics: Track: 400m Hurdles
Stagger to the finish line!
Difficulty: ****
Specifics: You must also win.

Manage your stamina carefully. Be wary, though, Sonic's stamina isn't too good.
You could run out easily.

Sonic's Mission 6: Athletics: Track: 100m
Win with a super starting dash!
Difficulty: ***

A 'super starting dash' is different from a normal starting dash. Rather than
throwing the Wii Remote down when 'GO!' appears, you have to do so at the same
time it appears. I counted about 3 and a half seconds after the 'Ready' to 'GO!'
sequence, so count that out, and hope for the best.

[MS9.10]
                         *Daisy’s Missions*

Daisy's Mission 1: Athletics: Field: Javelin Throw
Throw as close to the foul line as possible!
Difficulty: *
Times to do so: 1

Yeah, if my repetition says anything, you should know this by now. Full
speed, 'Good!' or 'Great!' jump, all before foul line.

Daisy's Mission 2: Shooting: Skeet
Shoot the fast targets!
Difficulty: **
Targets to shoot: 1

This mission is fairly easy, because you will be at station 8. Anticipate a
target and shoot it, because in these missions, all
targets are fast. Take advantage of the fact that you only need to hit one disk.

Daisy's Mission 3: Athletics: Track: 400m Hurdles
Finish without knocking down hurdles!
Difficulty: ***
Specifics: Finish within 45-53 seconds.

This mission can be hard if you don't know the timing for hurdles. But to lower
the pressure, when I tried it, the time was about a 4th place or lower time, so
no pressure to get first.

Daisy's Mission 4: Gymnastics: Vault
Recover from a stagger on landing!
Difficulty: **
Times to do so: 2

Very simple. Just shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuck as fast as possible and hope
for the best.

Oh, and don't be fooled by Daisy's "NO!" I gave this 2 stars for a reason.

Daisy's Mission 5: Athletics: Field: High Jump
Clear with jumps only
Difficulty: ** and a half
Times to do so: 2
Specifics: Daisy has full power. (4 Music notes) Bar is 2.20m high.

Bring up the Wii Remote when Daisy hits the blue area. Bring it up subtle enough
not to lose much energy.

Daisy's Mission 6: Table Tennis: Singles
Smash the ball to win!
Difficulty: *****
Specifics: Points with other balls don't count. You must smash the ball 5 times
to win.

Looks can be deceiving. This mission is a perfect example. You do not need to
win with a smash. Instead, the only points you can gain is with a smash. And you
win the game when you reach 5 points.

[MS9.11]
                        *Shadow’s Missions*

Shadow's Mission 1: Aquatics: 100m Freestyle
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: *
Rival: Tails

Simple. Crawl ahead of Tails and press B when the B bubble appears. Easy
enough.

Shadow's Mission 2: Dream Events: Dream Fencing
Win by knocking your opponent out of bounds!
Difficulty: **
Times to do so: 1

If you aren't aggressive, you won't be able to push your opponent. Even then,
the opponent almost never wants to co-operate. Parry them, and push them by
pressing forward twice. Get enough power for a Special Move, and use it on them
when they've backed up as far as they can go to get them out of bounds. You do
not have to win this way. You may simply do so early in the match and then play
normally.

Shadow's Mission 3: Athletics: Track: 110m Hurdles
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Blaze

Easy enough. You don't have to focus on the hurdles, as long as you're
careful not to run into them. Just keep ahead of Blaze.

Shadow's Mission 4: Rowing: Single Sculls
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Vector

Wow, Shadow must have a lot of rivals. Anyway, the AI for characters in all
non-final missions is the same as in a normal event. Just try not to get too
many button combinations bad, or else Vector will pass you.

Shadow's Mission 5 Athletics: Track: 400m
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Rival: Sonic

Shadow must not be too friendly or sportsmanlike to get this many enemies.
Anyway, this mission is similar to Sonic's but slightly harder. Shadow has the
lowest stamina of the game, and thus, even the tiniest of drumming movements
drains about half of his energy. Make sure he regains his energy before drumming
along again, and when Sonic gets tired near the end, sprint ahead of him so that
he'll never catch up.

Shadow's Mission 6 Athletics: Track: 100m
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Rival: Sonic

Again with the rivals. Oh well. Shadow’s been through a lot. This mission is
exactly the same as Mario's. I actually found this one little easier, because
I’m used to using shadow in these events. Though you may find Mario’s mission
easier. You may need a ‘Super Starting Dash’ to win this one, unless your
awesome at 100m, then a starting dash should be enough.

[MS12]
                           *Yoshi’s Missions*

Yoshi's Mission 1: Athletics: Field: Hammer Throw
Throw right in the center!
Difficulty: * and a half.
Times to do so: 1
Specifics: To get a good throw, you must be at full power.

Nothing special. A lot of these aren't all that special to write for. Just do
the normal technique for hammer throw.

Yoshi's Mission 2: Athletics: Field: High Jump
Jump from the blue zone!
Difficulty: **
Times to do so: 2

Simple. Jump flick the Wii Remote upwards when he reaches the blue area, and
lift the Nunchuck as he goes upwards.

Yoshi's Mission 3: Fencing: Individual Epée
Win after parrying!
Difficulty: **
Times to parry: 6

Keep at a distance enough to parry the opponent, and avoid damage if you fail
and he or she strikes. When you successfully parry, attack. These mission
descriptions are misleading. Again, you have no need to win the match directly
after a parry. Just parry 6 the enemy 6 times at the start, and then play normally.

Yoshi's Mission 4: Table Tennis: Singles
Continue a rally!
Difficulty: **** and a half
Rally: 15 shots

This is the hardest Table Tennis Mission, mostly because the computer isn't the
most co-operative partner out there. Don't slam, and only do a chop every 6 or
so shots or you might overshoot.

Yoshi's Mission 5: Aquatics: 100m Freestyle
Finish in the specified time!
Difficulty: ****
Time: 48-50 seconds

The block of time here is very small to get. The earliest time can be
attained if you move just ahead of the person in 2nd place(not too much), so try
that.

Yoshi's Mission 6: Athletics: Track
Win with a perfect relay!
Difficulty: ***

A 'perfect relay' consists of getting all 'Great!'s in passing the baton. It can
be hard to figure out the timing at first, but roughly, a baton length between
the characters is the optimum time to move the Wii Remote down.

[MS9.13]
                          *Peach’s Missions*

Peach's Mission 1: Aquatics: 4x100m Freestyle
Finish in the specified time!
Difficulty: ***
Time: 3 minutes, 21 seconds - 3 minutes, 29 seconds

This one was annoying for me to practice. You have to really swim with
attrition, and be careful not to go too fast or too slow. But again, if it
helps, getting the fourth swimmer to the end at about 2:55+, and then
returning at a normal pace should get you within the time.

Peach's Mission 2: Athletics: Hammer Throw
Let out a shout!
Difficulty: *-***** depending on if you know how to do it.
Times to do so: 3

Oh yes, this is the super magical mission which everyone asks about in the
message boards. Then again, the instruction book doesn't mention how to do so.
Anyway, in order for Peach to let out a shout, you must press A after you
release the hammer. However! You must be at full power to throw the hammer good
enough to shout.

Peach's Mission 3: Rowing: Single Sculls
Win by rowing with max. acceleration!
Difficulty: **
Specifics: You must row 10 times with maximum acceleration(3 music notes.)
during the race, not winning with one.

This is easiest to do near either the beginning or the end of the race. In the
beginning, just press Z and B and pull the Wii Remote back. If you do it right,
you'll get 3 music notes of acceleration. Near the end, too, when the game just
asks you to pull backwards, doing so quick enough will also yield a maximum set
of music notes.

Peach's Mission 4: Athletics: Track: 400m
Stagger to the finish line!
Difficulty: ***

Yeah. Just use your stamina as well as you can until the end, then sprint to get
your energy lowered faster, and move closer to the finish.

Peach's Mission 5: Archery: Archery
Hit that circle!
Difficulty: ****
Specifics: 6 pt. circle, moderate winds. (about 4-6mph.)
Tries to do so: 2

These archery missions suck. I might just be bad at archery, but you really have
to study the patterns of the winds. What's more, in my practice run of this
mission, Peach proved to be an oddly good archer, and shot her arrows as close
to the center as possible. There's no real solution than to practice the
placement of the arrows in wind, and aim accordingly.

Peach's Mission 6: Gymnastics: Trampoline
Perform difficult moves consecutively!
Difficulty: ** and a half
Times to do so: 10

This is what they call a final mission? Hah! Then again, I'm pretty good at
trampoline, so it's easy for me. But seriously, this mission is a joke. A huge,
elaborate joke, compared to mission 5. All you have to do is press all the
buttons in the sequence before Peach lands. It doesn't matter if you make errors
on the way, either. The game will accept a 'Good'.

[MS9.14]
                          *Tails’ Missions*

Tails' Mission 1: Gymnastics: Trampoline
Jump 7m high!
Difficulty: *

Easy. Just move the Wii Remote up every time Tails hits the trampoline.

Tails' Mission 2: Athletics: Field: High Jump
Jump from the blue zone!
Difficulty: *
Times to do so: 1
Specifics: You must also clear the bar.

Easy. Flick the Wii Remote upwards when Tails reaches or is in the blue zone.

Tails' Mission 3: Athletics: Field: Hammer Throw
Throw right in the center!
Difficulty: ***
Times to do so: 3

Ea... not quite. Anyway, you have to throw in the center of the open area to
succeed in this mission. The characters all have a slight delay in Hammer Throw
when they throw, so time it correctly so that it ends up in the center.

Tails' Mission 4: Athletics: Field: Triple Jump
Jump perfectly from the foul line!
Difficulty: ***
Times to do so: 3

Normally, these missions could be done in your sleep. Doing it three times, with
three jumps each time, and all have to be good, well, it's a bit harder. Don't
flake the jumps, and make sure you make them all behind the foul line.

Tails' Mission 5: Athletics: Track: 4x100m relay
Finish in the specified placing!
Difficulty: ****
Placing: 2nd

These types of missions where you have to give the CPUS a chance are annoying.
There, I said it. Anyway, you should slow down near the end of the mission, in
order to let the computers catch up. I don't recommend doing this in any other
of the baton passes, though, because you can lose control of the game instantly
when the speed locks.

Tails' Mission 6: Archery: Archery
Hit that circle!
Difficulty: ***
Specifics: 2 pt. circle, strong winds. (7-9mph.)
Tries: 1

To be honest, all I did for this mission was aim accordingly a far distance from
the circle based on the wind and hoped for the best. If you're good at archery,
you could try to aim it accurately, but for those who aren't gifted in archery,
just try the method I did, and persist until you win.

[MS9.15]
                         *Waluigi’s Missions*

Waluigi's Mission 1: Athletics: Field: Javelin Throw
Throw the specified distance!
Difficulty: **
Distance: 30-50m
Tries: 3

I got this one in a practice try by gaining maximum speed. As soon as it said
'Speed Locked', I moved the Remote fast enough to get a 'Bad'. This got a bit
above 30m.

Waluigi's Mission 2: Athletics: Field: Pole Vault
Jump from the blue zone!
Difficulty: ***
Times to do so: 3

This one can be tough if you can't build up recoil. But if anything, just shake
the Wii Remote and Nunchuck for running, move the Remote down in the blue. If
you do so late enough, you'll get a 'Great', which is much easier to keep recoil
than a 'Good'.

Waluigi's Mission 3: Gymnastics: Trampoline
Perform difficult moves consecutively!
Difficulty: **
Times to do so: 7

Easy. Since 'Good' counts as well as 'Great', your only goal is to press the
button sequence before Waluigi lands.

Waluigi's Mission 4: Aquatics: 4x100m Freestyle
Finish in the specified placing!
Difficulty: ***
Placing: 3rd

Seeing a pattern here? You have to slow down for these things. Just stay
slightly ahead of 4th place, and hope that the other players are competing for
1st instead of 2nd.

Waluigi's Mission 5: Rowing: Single Sculls
Beat your rival!
Difficulty: **
Rival: Luigi

Simple enough if you are good at rowing. Just press the button sequences
quickly, and pull back for as good acceleration as possible.

Waluigi's Mission 6: Athletics: Track: 400m Hurdles
Pass your rival!
Difficulty: ***
Rival: Luigi
Specifics: Luigi will have a 4 second handicap.

This final mission is like Blaze's mission, but it's made slightly easier,
because Waluigi's stamina is good. You can also speed up with a good hurdle
jump. If you time everything right, you can sprint to the end, and leave Luigi
in the dust. I actually did this one on my first try, because Waluigi has good
stamina.

                            *Dr. Eggman*

Dr. Eggman's Mission 1: Archery: Archery
Hit that circle!
Difficulty: **
Specifics: 9 pt. circle, Weak winds(0-3 mph.)
Tries: 3

This one is easy. Just aim at or near the 9 point circle. You have 3 tries to do so.

Dr. Eggman's Mission 2: Rowing: Single Sculls
Finish in the specified placing!
Difficulty: ***
Placing: 2nd

You can go any speed you want. The easiest time to slow down or speed up to get
near the other rowers is near the end, where all you have to do is pull back.
Just be careful, as even the weakest of strokes near the end can bring you into
first.

Dr. Eggman's Mission 3: Athletics: Field: Hammer Throw
Throw the specified distance!
Difficulty: **
Distance: 50-55m
Tries: 3

Sometimes this mission is hard, but if you know what you're doing, it really
isn't. Same as Bowser's mission. Don't gain power, and throw right in the
center. It should just fall short of 55, which is what you want. Too far left or
right will make it just fall short of 50, which is not what you want.

Dr. Eggman's Mission 4: Fencing: Individual Epée
Win without being parried!
Difficulty: **
Times to be parried: 6

Again with the terribly worded missions. You do not need to avoid parrying to
lose. Eggman has a number of parries in the corner of the screen that he has. If
he gets parried that amount of times, he loses. So counter that, and parry back,
to stun the opposing fencer(I'm running out of ways to say opponent.) and hit.
By the way, have you noticed Eggman always aims for the opposing fencer’s crotch?

Dr. Eggman's Mission 5: Shooting: Skeet
Shoot targets with the small crosshairs!
Difficulty: *** and a half.
Targets: 3

The small crosshairs make it hard to shoot without good accuracy. Just
practice the event, and hope for the best.

Dr. Eggman's Mission 6: Dream Events: Dream Table Tennis
Win without using Special Moves!
Difficulty: ***

Eggman really sucks in this event. His reactions are delayed, and it takes a
little longer for him to hit the ball than the other characters. (Not nearly as
bad as the fencing lag, though.) But get used to Eggman's timing, and be lucky
enough not to play a Skill character. Their special can turn the ball invisible,
and your only clue of its location is the bounce on your court. The other type
of specials are manageable, so that's good. I found this mission quite easy, my
score was 50-6 against Yoshi.

                       A Few Hints & Unlockables

************************************************************************

Okay, here are just a few little things that can’t get their own section, they
all have to share a section.

Crowns: Get gold medals in all the events with a character to unlock his or her
crown.

Alternate ending sequence: Finish the Big Bang Circuit in first place to view an
alternate ending sequence.

Super Mario Sunshine reference: When in a 400 meter running race, notice the
flags, balloons, and tarps with drawings. At the beginning before you start the
400 meter running race, you should see a tarp with FLUDD on it, which was the
cleaning device that Mario uses to clean with in Super Mario Sunshine.

                                FAQS

************************************************************************

This little bit has some questions from gamers like you and me. I had much more,
but these were the ones that gave me permission to post their questions. Some of
these questions might help you, oh reader whose name I probably don’t know, so
read carefully.

Question: Are Silver and DK in this game?-Jake

Dear Jake: Actually, yes. Although the way to unlock them is almost impossible
to achieve. You have to set a world record in all events. I haven’t personally
unlocked them myself, but my friend said she read that you can in one of those
Nintendo Power magazines.

Question: I hate those Jump events. I can't get the timing right.-TIRED OF THOSE
DUMB JUMP EVENTS!

Dear TOTDJE: That's alright. It takes practice. But if it helps, I tend to get
good jumps by raising the Wii remote around an arm length in height for the
jumps. Try shaking the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to gain distance slightly.

Question: What does applause do?-John

I'm not sure. Apparently it increases the chance of doing well in the
event they clapped in.

Question: I can never seem to win the 100m dash. What character is the best for
it?-Hater Of 100m!

Dear Hater of 100m: I just barely won one time with Blaze, but now I always win
with Shadow, and smoke 2nd by 0.200-2.000 seconds. Try either one of them! A
helpful way to win with anyone is to perform a super starting dash.(Like a
starting dash, but releases energy exactly when ‘GO!’ appears)

Question: What's the difference between the characters?-Paul

Dear Paul: Short answer: Absolutely nothing.
Long answer: There are some miniscule ones, but the only really notable one is
with special attacks that characters use in Dream Fencing and Dream Table Tennis.
-Skill Characters have a Table Tennis shot that turns the ball invisible, and a
projectile special attack in Dream Fencing, with low knock-back.
-Power Characters have a strong shot in Dream Table Tennis which 'stuns' the
ball on the opponent's field for a few seconds, and an extremely high
Knock-back and high damage stab in Dream Fencing.
-Speed and All-Around characters have roughly the same type of shot in Dream
Table Tennis, where they send the ball at the opponent quickly. In Dream
Fencing, however, Speed characters have a quick array of sword strikes, while
All-Around characters have the worst special stab in the game, where they lunge
forward, with moderate damage and very low knock-back.

Question: What do you get after beating the missions?-Mission Guy

Dear Mission Guy: You get an emblem based on the character you beat the mission
with. Mario characters get their emblem on a Mario star, while Sonic characters
get their emblem on an icon similar to that which appeared on the old Sonic
title screens. Their only use is on your save-file. And for completeness.

Question: What set of missions did you complete first?-Mission Guy

Dear Mission Guy: First I completed Tails’ missions.

Question: What are your favourite events?-Mario Fan 101

Dear Mario Fan 101: First is totally both Aquatics, Javelin throw is wicked, and
trampoline, and Pole Vault and high jump. There are others, but I’ll just
mention these ones.

Question: Who are your favourite characters?-Josh

Dear Josh: Oh gosh, that’s a toughie. Um Shadow first because he is da bomb, in
track, uhh Blaze is pretty good, Sonic, and I use Bowser a lot too. I use a
variety of characters, but I use these ones the most often. (Hey, Josh and Gosh
rhyme! I just noticed that)

Question: What's your Wii friend code? Add me to friends!-Shane

Dear Shane: I’m sorry, but currently I don’t have Wi-Fi. But maybe I’ll get it
sometime. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get it today? Oooooo!

Question: How can Mario beat Sonic in a race? Isn’t Sonic supposed to be the
fastest game character alive?-Sonic is Awesome At Running And Can Totally Beat
Mario!

Dear SIAARACTBM: Have you seen Mario's running speed when you hold down B in the
old games?

Question: I'm sick of using the Nunchuck.-Julie

Dear Julie: Lots of events have the option of using the Wii Remote only. But for
others, you're out of luck, as some have the Nunchuck as mandatory for use.

Question: YOUR WALKTHROUGH ON MARIO KART WII WAS AWESOME!!-Shane Again

Dear Shane Again: Thanks, it’s good to hear people are actually READING my
walkthroughs. I thought no one was going to! Thanks for reassuring me!

Question: Are there any cheats in the game?-Cheat Code Fanatic

Dear Cheat Code Fanatic: None that I know of that work. I saw three, but they
didn’t work for me. If you want to try them here they are:

Gold Medals: At the main menu, press A, A, B, 1, 2, 1, 2.

Unlock All Games: At the main menu, hold 1 and 2 and hit up, down, down, left,
up, up, up, right, right. After, let go of 1 and 2.

Mario Can Run Faster: At the main menu, hit 2, 1, Down, Up, 2, 1, 1, 2

Question: What other FAQs have you done?- Joey

Dear Joey: I have done one on Mario kart Wii and Mario Party 8.

Question: What took you so long to publish this?!- Damsel in Distress

Dear Damsel in Distress: Cute. Well I have to do a book report and memorize play
lines, and homework, plus I spend so much time on these walkthroughs that I get
in trouble for hogging the computer. And right now my big bro’s sick, so I can’t
do much with my game.

Question: Why does Sonic wear a life jacket?! It's weeiirrdd how he does and
noone else does.-Confused?!?!

Dear Confused?!?!: He hates water, but not to the point were he wont go near it.
Thats why he's in the water events. In one trailer for this game, Mario sprays
Sonic with a hose to (in my opinion) piss him off.

Question: Whose Crown Did you get first-First Got Peach's Crown

Dear First Got Peach's Crown: I got Shadow's Crown first.

Question: When will you make a new walkthrough?-*Andi*

Dear *Andi*: When more people e-mail me! LOL!
