This is my first FAQ so I am sorry if it is not that good!

1. Introduction

Welcome to the world of Harvest Moon. Just so you know, there are maps of the game 
and a short FAQ in the pamphlet inside the game box. When you start the game, there 
will be a long moving introducing you to the Forget-Me-Not Valley. A man named 
Takakura, who is a friend of your late father, will be waiting for you when you 
arrive. He will show you around your new farm and the valley, introducing you to 
most of the people in town. First, he will show you around your farm, and he will 
eventually take you into the barn, where he suprises you with a cow that is waiting 
in there. He will ask you to name the cow, then he will take you back outside and 
ask you to name the farm. He will then take you around the valley and introduce you 
to a lot of people. Then, he will take you back home and leave. Then, Harvest 
Sprites appear and talk to you for a little bit. You will then walk inside your 
house and the screen will go dark. You will then wake up a few days later at 5 am. 
You should wait a little bit before going outside, because it will be dark and a 
little hard to see. From personal experiance, I would advise that you explore a lot 
on your first day during the daylight, because it can be hard to find your way 
around at night even after the street lights come on ant 7 pm. Dont forget to feed 
your cow your cow! Eventually, you will have bought enough fetilizer from Vesta, 
Marlin, or Celia to have your whole field full of grass. Now that you have gotten 
started, you can learn more about the game. 

2. Cheats for the game

For most of these cheats you will need 2 controllers. Insert one of the controllers 
into port one, and insert the other into port three. If you press the start button 
on the controller in port three, it will appear as if nothing has happened, but each 
time you press it, you are actually getting 10,000g. But, if you make too much 
money, the game will register as you having no money at all. Next, if you press Z on 
the controller in port 3, you will recieve lots of items. These items can be hard to 
manage, but you can make abour four million g each time you do this. But, be warned, 
that this will replace all items you had in your backpack before doing this.

3. Getting Married

One the first day of summer in year 1, Nic, Nac, and Flak will summon you to their 
tree. Nic and Nac will be fighting over a blue feather, and Flak will yell at them 
to stop it, and then he will talk to you. He will explain that the BLUE FEATHER is 
like an engagement ring in the valley, and you give it to the person that you want 
to marry. Later, Takakura will put it on the shelf. 
To get married to a person, you will have to have four hearts in their diary. You 
can find their diary in each of their homes. For a little bit, you can't just 
propose and have them say yes. You have to have the final heart event with them, and 
then they will say yes. You will then have a short video sequence, and you will be 
married at the end of year 1. 

4. Making Friends

In order to make friends, you must give them gifts. They won't just accept any old 
item, though. You have to give them something they like. You can also become friends 
by giving them discounts at your shop that you can set up. You can tell if somebody 
is your friend by walking by them. If they turn their head and look at you, they are 
their friend. If they plow through you like a Nascar driver, you aren't their 
friend. If you are someones friend, you can get items from them. Some of these items 
cannot be obtained any other way. Others will just be items that you can get for 
free from them instead of paying. 

5. Conclusion

Now that you know a lot of stuff about the game, you can get started. There are six 
chapters of the game, spanning over 30 years of life. Things will not always be the 
same in the valley, though. Nearly everybody will age, including you. People will 
move, and some people will die. For more about this, read the spoilers section.

6. SPOILERS

Here are a few spoilers of the game. After the first year, Nina, the old lady 
married to Galen, will die and be buried in the valley. Galen will move out of his 
house and move into a smaller house near Vesta's farm. Nina is buried near there. 
Dr. Hardy will move into his old house.

A new family will move into a house between Chris, Wally, and Hugh's house and Dr. 
Hardy's house. Your son will possibly fall in love with the daughter of this 
household. 

At the end of the game, you will die, and everyone will mourn your death.
