2.) WALKTHROUGH

/------------------\
| Before You Begin |
\------------------/

The game asks you to set the time. You can set it to whatever you want. However,
this may effect the gameplay. Some trainers, items, and Pokemon can only be seen at
a certain time. If you want to know what to set it to, do the following:

Scroll down until you come to the one that says 4:00 Morn. I usually set the time
to 4:00 morning.

Once the clock is set, you will see Professor Oak. He tell's you that "a world of
dreams and adventure awaits..." blah, blah, blah. You will be asked your name. Any
name will do, but can only be 7 letters long.

The Menu-

| New Bark Town |
\-----------------/

Pokemon:
Chikorita
Cyndyquil
Totodile

Items:
Pokegear
Everstone
Masterball

You start off in your bedroom. You can turn on your computer and decorate your
room. You'll get more decoration options as the games continues. For now go
downstairs. Your mom will come talk to you. She will give you the Pokegear and
show you how to use it. Then she'll ask you what day of the week it is. I usually
choose Friday, because you'll probably get to Golderod city on Sunday, and you'll
get a free TM. ;)

Exit the house and go to the big building next door. This is Professor Elm's
Laboratory. Go up and talk to Professor Elm an he'll ask you to run an errand for
him. You have no choice. He'll give you a partner. You can choose from Chikorita,
Cyndiquil, or Totodile.
It doesn't really matter, but the 1st place cup goes to Totodile, 2nd place cup goes
to Cyndiquil, and the 3rd place cup to Chikorita.

Exit the lab and the Aide will give you a potion. Go left and enter Route 29.

and head left until you find a strange tree. Check the tree and you'll receive a
berry. Keep walking left and you'll hear a music change. Welcome to Cherrygrove
City.

Talk to the old man and answer yes to his question. He'll show you around and then
he'll take you to his house. He'll give you the map card for your Pokegear. Go
inside the building that says Pok`e on it.

This is a Pokemon Center. It will heal your Pokemon for free. Heal your pokemon if
you need to. (I would.) Exit the center after your done healing.

Head North form Cherrygrove, and you'll eventually see house and a berry tree. Pick
the berry of the tree, and go in the house. Talk to the guy and he'll give you a
berry. Exit the house and head north. You'll come to another house. This is Mr.
Pokemon's House. Enter...

Mr. Pokemon will give you an egg. He'll tell you that you need to take that back to
Professor Elm. And is that... PROFESSOR OAK!

Professor Oak gives you a little speech he's been working on, and he gives you the
POKEDEX! He'll leave for Goldenrod city and Mr. Pokemon will heal your pokemon.
Leave his house. Go back to Cherrygrove.

NOTE: MAKE SURE YOUR POKEMON IS AT LEVEL 8, BEFORE GOING BACK TO CHERRYGROVE. IF
NOT, MAKE SURE YOU TRAIN IT UP TO LEVEL 8.

Enter Cherrygrove. Heal your pokemon right away!!! Now exit town...

Your rival... What? He strolls into town like he owns the place, and tells you that
he stole a Pokemon. So...

You start to battle. For the those of you who have never played Pokemon before,
here is how the trainer battle stage works:

Your Pokemon will gain more experience if you are in a trainer battle. You cannot
run from a trainer battle, and you cannot catch the trainer's Pokemon.

---- Rival --------------------------------------------------------
Name: ???
Pokemon:
Chikorita = ??? \
Cyndiquil = ???  - Level: 5
Totodile = ???  /
Prize: $300

This battle should be pretty easy. He has a type advantage over you, hence: You
take Fire, he takes Water. You take Water, he takes Grass. You take Grass, he
takes Fire. But you have a level advantage. He only has one Pokemon. His Pokemon
is level: 5. Yours should be level: 8 or higher.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
With that in mind, tackle, scratch, razor leaf- whatever your main attack is. After
you beat your rival,(or did he beat you?) go heal and head back to New Bark.

Professor Elm is talking to a Police Officer. The officer will tell you a Pokemon
was stolen here. He'll ask you for the name of your rival. (You can name him
whatever you want, only 7 letters though!) Go talk to Prof. Elm. He'll take the
Mystery Egg from you and send you on your Pokemon Journey. Go talk to the Aide.
He'll give you five pokeballs! Go talk to your Mom. She'll start saving money for
you! It kinda helps, she'll buy stuff for you. Usually it's decorations for your
room. Sometimes not. Now let's go to Violet City!
