III.Advice on Techniques
1.The Beauty of HMs
Any water type pokemon should know surf. Do not teach it waterfall instead because waterfall
is exactly like surf only weaker. Strength and Cut are good moves to teach to pokemon in
training. Strength is also a good move for normal types like Slaking and Exploud. Fly is
another good HM for battle. Natu, Gyarados, Zubat, Golbat and Ninjask are the only flying type
pokemon I know that can’t learn Fly.
2.Being cautious with TMs
Whenever you use a TM, be sure that it will be put to good use. Another thing about TMs is
that they might learn on their own what you might teach them. For example, you might have a
Kirlia(a psychic type) at LV 24 that stinks, so you would want to teach it Psychic. That would be
a complete waste of a good TM because Kirlia learns Psychic on its own at level 26.
3.Personal favorites
I like to buy TMs. The moves that I probably use the most are Hyper Beam, Blizzard, Thunder,
Psychic, and Fire Blast. One of my trademarks is to teach all of my pokemon the move Hyper
Beam because of its power. But to other trainers, I recommend that you should only teach your
pokemon Hyper Beam if its attack is high(about 100 or more attack at LV 50).

PS. I know that there is a way to catch Latios in Sapphire and Latias in Ruby, but I don’t know
what it is. I will try to find out.
