First off, I would like to give a very special thanks to Square Enix, for an amazing game (Even though I'm ten years late), Brandy Games, for making a very fine guide on the technical aspects on the game, but a downer on the boss battle guides, since they leave out some useful info. Sometimes they actually make fights harder than they need to be. And lastly, a shout out to James Arnold Taylor, voice actor to Tidus, Rachet from Rachet and Clank 2 and on, and the dog in a random Anti-Weed commercial. PART TWO: SEYMOURE BATTLE ONE (SMG) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Place: Machalania Temple-Antechamber -Phase One: A Mayster And His Guardians(MP1) Seymoure Guado HP: 6000 Guado Guardian HP: 2000 Guado Guardian HP: 2000 The fight starts off. You should have Tidus and Yuna in your party, and then your third character. I think it automatically put in Khimari, although it doesn't really matter. This first phase is fairly simple. The trick is knowing what element Seymore casts when. The order is Ice, Lightning, Water, Fire. THIS ORDER IS THE MOST CRUCIAL ELEMENT IN THIS STRATEGY TO BEATING SEYMORE! Knowing this cycle makes life very easy. It means that you are virtually invincible against Seymore Guado! On the first round have Tidus use the Trigger Command to talk to Seymoure for a nice Strength boost. You can pretty much ignore Yuna's Trigger Command. You'll be using Yuna this fight for two things. Her almighty Nul Spells, and to summon Shiva after Seymoure calls Anima in the second phase of this fight. Have Yuna, on her first turn, cast NulFreeze to render Seymoure's first attack useless. With your third character you're going to switch in Rikku and then use Steal on one of the Guado Guardians to cancel out thier Auto-Potion abilities for the rest of the phase. If you weren't able to switch Rikku in before Yuna's turn, hope for the best. Hopefully either you were able to get Rikku in before Yuna's turn, Yuna has a second turn before Seymoure goes to use NulFreeze again so Riku gets the Immunity, or Seymoure just doesn't hit Rikku. On the second round, have Tidus start attacking the Guado Guardian you used Steal on, Yuna should continue to support with NulShock, and Rikku should Steal from the other Guado Guardian. If you get a small jolt from one of the Guardians, don't sweat it. It will only be a small amount, not worth healing. On the third round Tidus should continue to pelt the weakened Guado Guardian while Yuna uses the next NulSpell as needed following the cycle, and Rikku is switched out for a heavy hitter. Continue to follow the cycle and end this round by pelting the Guado Guardinas, then attacking Seymoure directly. I highly suggest you store all Overdrives you may have on this phase. Once Seymoure is weakened he will summon Anima to trigger Phase Two. -Phase Two: Freezing Hell (MP2) Anima HP: 18000 This round is another easy one. When it comes around to Yuna, do as they say and summon the new Aeon. Proceed to fight Anima by using Heavenly Strike, which tends to be more damaging than regular attack, getting hit by Anima's Pain Attack, which helps your Overdrive Gauge fill by a lot, and using the Black Magic spell Blizzara to heal when Shiva's health gets lower than one thousand. When the Overdrive Gauge is ready to go, blast Anima with Diamond Dust. A tip, though: make sure Shiva is in healthy condition, or she'll get killed off while she's resting from her attack! After her first Overdrive, repeat the steps until you get overdrive with her again, which should kill it off. -Phase Three: Proof Of Purchase (MP3) This is usually the hardest round because this is when Seymoure introduces Doublecast to the fight, preforming Multi-Element spells. The cycle that he uses dose not change, but it dose start over, so have Yuna cast NullFreeze to open and proceed through the cycle. If you end up needing health, use one of your other characters to use a potion or revive a comrade. Just have Yuna using her NulSpells following the cycle. Unleash all Overdrives you might have with Tidus, Khimari, Auron or Wakka now and it will make the last phase of this battle a simple task! PART THREE: SEYMORE BATTLE TWO (SMN) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Place: Bevelle City-High Bridge -Phase One: Hardly A Simple Task (BP1) Seymoure HP:32000 Mortibody: HP: Varies This Seymoure fight is fairly easy compared to the last one, I think. Here's how it goes: Use Tidus to cast Haste on at least himself, if not the whole party, while Yuna casts Reflect. REMINDER: CAST HASTE ON A CHARACTER BEFORE REFLECT! IF YOU DO IT THE OTHER WAY AROUND, YOU WILL HASTE SEYMOURE OR THE MORTIBODY! Untill the whole party is reflected, attack the Mortibody. Once it hits zero HP it will siphon some from Seymoure. Once the whole party is reflected, however, you can attack Seymoure directly, because his Flare counter attack will be Reflected back at him or the Mortibody. During this stage, also use Tidus's Trigger Command to give him another Strength bonus, while you only worry about Yuna's when your party is reflected. You also want to cast Reflect on Seymoure himself to, so when the Mortibody tries to heal him, it is bounced to one of your characters. Also, keep Rikku handy with her Al Behd Potions, or Esuna, or Softs. You may suffer some set backs from Petrification, where you need to recast Haste and Reflect. This fight is really as simple as keeping your health up, Haste on at least one attacker, and Reflect on. Support as needed, and just powerhouse Seymoure with Overdrives. It's a simple fight. PART FOUR: SEYMOURE BATTLE THREE (SMF) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Place-Mount Gagazet-Precipice -Phase One: Battle 10,000 Feet Above Sea Level (GP1) Seymoure Flux HP: 80000 Morticharis HP: Varies This fight can be tedious between Seymoure's new found skills and the levels of your characters. For starters use the Trigger Command for anyone who can, while Tidus starts up with Hastega. Proceed then to cast Reflect and Protect on the party as needed, and when you are dispelled, recast it all again. Equip your characters with anti-Zombie armor, or pack a lot of Holy Waters and Remedies. This is because Seymoure will hit a character with Lance of Atrophy, and on his next turn cast Full-Life on that character to kill it, so you need to get rid of Zombie before he can do it. Also note that you can use Bio effectively in this fight. Keep Protect casted on all party members during this fight, particularly when he starts Charging up, which triggers the second phase in the fight in my book. Phase Two: Guns Don't Kill People, Spikes, Swords and Energy Beams Kill People. (GP2) Seymoure Flux HP: 80000 Morticharis HP: Varies When Seymoure starts charging up and preparing for his big attack, guard with Triangle, make sure Protect is on ever member in the fight, and hope Lady Luck is on your side if your characters have low HP, because chances are when his attack is over, no one will be left standing, save for those like Auron who's HP is off the charts, and of course the damage is reduced with Protect, so hopefully that helped. If you need to, revive your party, Haste up, heal up, and continue to pelt Seymoure after Reflecting your party. Keep in mind that he can pull off his Mac Daddy attack again, so stay prepared for that, and that he will Banish you Aeons right away, so you only get one turn out of them. So if you do summon make it count. PART FIVE: SEYMOURE FIGHT FIVE (SMO) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Place: Inside Sin-Fated Stairway -Phase One: Stairway To The Destined Duel(SP1) Seymour Omnis HP: 80000 Seymoure stands alone in this last showdown, but he is big, strong and very unhappy. Haste up, Reflect up, use Trigger Commands and engage the enemy. The four rings behind him signify his elemental strengths and weaknesses by the inner most points, the one right below him, right above his head, directly right and directly left. Use this with your black mage and weapons to score stronger hits through weaknesses, or keep Yuna handy with her NulSpells. Keep all your health high and your fight strong, use Overdrives when available and defeating Seymoure Guado for good should be fairly simple. PART SIX: COPYRIGHT (N/A) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This guide was written by me, with some help from my memory and the useful Scan ability. I did need to look on FFInsider.Net though for a refresher on how much HP Seymoure had in the third fight. They have a good guide there to the full game. If you need something else other than the Seymoure battles, head there, I suggest, even for the International Version. Thanks, FFInsider.Net! To contact me E-Mail me at [email protected]
