Welcome to my Sonic R FAQ. This FAQ only covers the first level of the game, 
it may be small but still hard if you don’t know what to do. This mini guide 
will show you the best shortest way to get all sonic coins and chaos emerald 
in order to unlock Metal Sonic. Enjoy.

1. About the Map                                                          [MAP]
*******************************************************************************
This is the first map in the game. It may sound easy at first but you will
have hard time getting everything and finishing in top 3, but don’t worry if
you stick to what’s in this mini guide you will discover that its possible
and can be easy too after some time.

Any way this map has many short cuts and the best character than can take
advantage of them is tails as he can fly and cut many water areas that other
will have hard time getting trough so I suggest playing as him.

2. Sonic Coins                                                            [SCN]
*******************************************************************************
1. From the start of the map head forward until you come to rings and the road
is turning to the right. Don’t turn instead jump up the mountain and get the
first sonic coin to the right.

2. Next go forward, drop down, and turn to the left to enter between the next
mountain and get the second sonic coin.

3. Keep going forward and get any rings you can.  Run passed the ruins and
into the main road. Don’t run along it, instead fly strait to the mini island
ahead. Keep following the road that goes from it to another mini island with
the third sonic coin.

4. Fly to the main road and follow it till it splits into tow directions.
Take the right/Straight one and get your forth sonic coin.

5. By now you should have at least 20 coins. Run all the way to the ruins
but before you enter it there should be a door on the left with 20 coins
interns fee. Go trough it and get your last coin.

Now run to get in the first place and use every short cut
(see metal sonic challenge).

3. Chaos Emerald                                                          [CEM]
*******************************************************************************
From the start of the map run forward, along the main road and try to get all 
the coins along the way. stay with the road  and just before the splitting 
ways area there will be a door on the left with 50 rings interns fee. By now 
you should have 50 coins, enter and the emerald will be there. If you don’t 
have enough coins you still have tow more laps.

4. Metal Sonic Challenge                                                  [MTS]
*******************************************************************************
Metal sonic is really fast but with the short cuts used well he can be a joke. 
Stick with Tails for the best results.

From the start run forward and just before the road turns fly to the right 
and there should be a small island to land on. Far away will be the ruins, 
you cant miss it because the big door will be visible.

Fly there. Now jump on the main road and just before the road turns fly to 
the right and turn right into an area full of treas. Cut through and you will 
come to the area just with a lop before the finish line. 

Fly passed the lop and into the finish line. Repeat this steps for the next 
tow laps and metal sonic will be yours.
