Triple Play 2000's more-responsive hitting gives you the control to hit for placement or power -- lift a bloop single over the shortstop's head, drive a double into the gap, or jack a monster home run into another time zone. Triple Play 2000's variety of game modes and styles provide you with the perfect platform for playing a game with ultimate Major League realism -- all the situations and intensity of the big leagues. Or, you can set up and play an Arcade mode game with more hits and more home runs. It's a hitter's dream. From the first pitch to the final out, Triple Play 2000 delivers great big league gameplay. Triple Play 2K is by far the best Baseball game ever created! It has graphics and anything else you ever wanted on a baseball game! The controls are a bit odd the first time you play it, but nevertheless is a great improvement over the last game. EA Sports has always been known as making great sports games, but with Triple Play 2K, they hit a grandslam! Now, many people talk about MLB 2K being the better game, but in my opinion both games are outstanding. Triple Play 2K is more like a fun version of baseball, and MLB is more to the realistic style of play. One of the best features of this game is it's Home Run Challenge. You play against a friend or the computer in a home run race trough 9 long innings to see who hits more home runs. This game mode is long since some people choose Sammy Sosa and then just start hitting Home runs over, and over again. What's more fun about this feature is that you can also choose the stadium you want. Maybe you'd like to play in Boston and try and beat the BIG MONSTER, or choose Coors Field and see how the balls leaves the stadium with the slightiest swing. All of this and more are what make this game so great. If you are a baseball fan, go buy the game dammit! More Control, More Action, More Power GAME FEATURES .Head to Head Home run Challenge .Multi Season Play and Full Fantasy Draft .New Camera Angles-See the Action, Make the Plays .Create, Trade, Sign, and Release Players REAL EMOTIONS AGGRESIVE GAMEPLAY MONSTER HOMERUNS PRECISION BATTING 1 or 2 Memory Card Analog Controller Players 7 blocks Compatible ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ ________ Controls NOTE: If you own a version of Triple Play 2000 for N64, please (inmidiately) send me the controls in those versions, since I only own the game in PSX and it makes it difficult for me to write controls for the other 2 versions. Also, I'm looking for someone to write the rosters for me. I would give FULL credit to anyone who can do that. Batting [Controls] Square: Power hit. X: Normal hit. Circle: Bunt. L1/R1: Move batter. He will hit homeruns over and over again. Maybe it's all because he's the official endorser of the game. I guess EA Sports are huge Sammy Sosa marks. One thing I noted is when you step up to the plate. A lot of people tend to move the batter with the L/R buttons all over the plate and sometimes change the direction to where they are heading. This is not GOOD! Don't move the batter since that's the way he knows how to bat and that's the way you'll get better results. Don't try to hit Home runs with normal base hit players. It is very hard for them to hit home runs. Use Heavy hitters like Mo Vaughn, McGwire, Sosa, Griffey, etc..... You won't a lot of homeruns by Edgar Renteria, or any pitcher at all. Also, shortstops are the least home run hitters in the game. Maybe Derek Jeter and Barry Larkin can hit a few, but otherwise don't spect a home run from any shortstop. Always use aggresive throw. Your player will throw faster to the base. Imagine what can happen if you throw to first base with normal throw, or try to do a double play with normal throw. You won't see any outs! Always use aggresive throw, and never normal throw. Always keep your finger on the [] button (PSX Only). When the opposing team trys a bunt to move a runner to second base, DON'T throw at second base! Instead get the easy out on first. It's way more safer. Always use the Square button to hit at the ball. It's better than normal. The ball will go harder and move to the outfield. Remember that it's a bitch to play outfield in this game. When your pitcher comes to the plate, use Bunt. It's the best a pitcher can do. Don't try homeruns or doubles, go for a nice bunt. But, you can try and lob an infield hit over the shortstop's head by pressing down+X button (PSXC Only) when batting! Don't try and hit homeruns all the time. You will fly out a lot. Too many outs are wates this way. When you least expect it, the opponent makes an outfield hit and 2 runs score! That's frustating! However, when you do it, it looks great. When using a lefty pitcher against a lefty batter, pitch down and in. It's very hard to bat against a lefty batter if you are batting left. That's one of the reasons why Randy Johnson is a hell of a pitcher. If you get hit by a pitcher with 2 outs, nobody on base, what do you do? You go ahead and STEAL the base! When using pitchers like Pedro Martinez, try and pitch with the high fastball, followed by a low change. When using Randy Johnson always use his slider! Or get yourself a pitcher with a nice sinker or splitter. Charles Nagy sucks in this game! I once went 6-7 with Richard Hidalgo of the Houston Astros with 6 home runs, 10 RBI's and 7 runs scored. If the count is 3-2, that means a full count, I recommend you throw a change. One way to strike out the batter very easily in this game is by having a pitcher with a good arm, and a great sinker. This tactic only works against a human opponent, so here's what you got to do: If your pitcher has a change, simply throw a low change outside the strike zone. This makes the battter think the ball is good and will most likely try to hit hit! However, if your friend/human opponent is not falling for that anymore, throw a hard slider inside, just next to hi elbows. He'll also swing like a fool! Another tactic, which is rather good because it always worked for me against my friends, is to throw a high fastball! BUT I MEAN REALLY HIGH! Way outside the strike zone! If you do this, the batter will THINK that the ball is good and swing at it early while the ball is still moving up. This is hard to do, but you can do it against most of your friends. The only problem of this is that sometimes your pitcher will screw up and throw it slowly and the batter will see that it's a ball. So too keep this tactic working all the time, simply throw a sinker up like if it was the high fastball but this time, pitch INSIDE the strike zone. The batter will watch it go up, and the come down! Don't try this with splitters though, since the splitters moves a little bit to the side and the batter will swing and possibly hit a home run. NOTE: This is done with "Aftertouch" option turned off. If you are losing in the scoreboard, and your pitchers steps up to the plate, use a pinch hitter instead. Also if you get on base with a Pitcher, use a pinch runner. When you are about to substitute a pitcher, be sure to warm up the releiver or closer pitcher you whish to use first. You may substitute a starte with another starter when you really need to win a game! It doesn't really matters! When trading players, look at the free agent pool. There are some good pitchers in there like Ramon Martinez (Pedro's BIG borther [thanks to Thunderbird 20002 for correcting that mistake) and Orel Hershiser. Try and steal bases when the other team's pitcher throws a low pitch. Don't use sinkers. ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ _______ Secrets ,---.| | | o |---'| ,---., .,---.|--- ,---.|--- .,---.,---. | | ,---|| |`---.| ,---|| || || | ` `---'`---^`---|`---'`---'`---^`---'``---'` ' `---' ----------- Hit a Home Run When batting, hold all four shoulder buttons then press Triangle, Square, Triangle, Circle, X, Square, Left, Right. ----------- Easy Strikeout When pitching, press and hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and while holdin these buttons, press Up, Down, Triangle, Square, Triangle, Circle, X, Square. ----------- Batter Info While playing either field or batter, hold all four shoulder buttons and press Left, Square, Up, Triangle. While doing this hold down the left button so that the ball will go down the left field line. The pitcher will pick up the ball and throw it to first but don't worry, chances are you will make it safely. All you have to do is hold down B while running to first which will make dive. Most of the time you will succeed but dont expect to every time. This is good play when you are in need of a base hit. Make sure not to do this while the bases are loaded because the pitcher will throw it home and get him out. ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ _______________ Gameshark Codes ______________________________________________________________ | ,---.| | | o | | |---'| ,---., .,---.|--- ,---.|--- .,---.,---. | | | | ,---|| |`---.| ,---|| || || | | | ` `---'`---^`---|`---'`---'`---^`---'``---'` ' | | `---' | | | | | | | | Joker Command D0052F7E-???? | | Away Team Score Modifier 30058111-00?? | | Home Team Score Modifier 30058111-00?? | | Always Hits A Homerun D0058262-0100 80058234-0003 | | Infinite Strikes 300583E1 0000 | | 1 Strike And You Are Out D00583E0-0000 300583E1-0002 | | 2 Strikes And You Are Out D00583E0-0000 300583E1-0001 | | Infinite Balls 3000583E2-0000 | | 1 Ball And You Walk D00583E2-0000 300583E2-0003 | | 2 Balls And You Walk D00583E2-0000 300583E2-0002 | | 3 Balls And You Walk D00583E2-0000 300583E2-0001 | | Infinite Outs 300583E3-0000 | | 1 Out And You Are Out D00583E2-0000 300583E3-0002 | | 2 Outs And You Are Out D00583E2-0000 300583E3-0002 | | | | 0 Outs, 0 Strikes & 3 Balls (Press L1 + L2) D0052F7E 1200 | | 300583E3-0000 D0052F7E-1200 300583E1-0000 D0052F7E-1200 | | 300583E2-0003 | | | | 2 Outs, 2 Strikes, & 0 Balls (Press R1 + R2) D0052F7E 2400 | | 300583E3-0002 D0052F7E-2400 300583E1-0002 D0052F7E-2400 | | 300583E2-0000 | | | | All Runs For Home Team 800FB588-0000 800FB58A-2402 | | All Runs For Away Team 800FB588-0004 800FB58A-2402 | | All Runs Worth Modifier 800FB5A4 00?? | | | | Home Run Challenge | | | | Infinite Outs 80058482-0000 | | Away Team Home Runs Modifier 8005846C ???? | | Home Team Home Runs Modifier 8005846E ???? | | Away Team Always Hit Home Run 80058466-0206 80058468-0101 | | | |______________________________________________________________| _______________________________________________________________ | | | , .o | | ,--.| | | | |\ |.,---.|--- ,---.,---.,---|,---. |--.`--| | | | \ ||| || |---'| || || | | | | | | ` `'`` '`---'`---'` '`---'`---' `--' ` | | | | | | Master Bryan's Activator 1 P1 D00A5294 00?? | | Master Bryan's Activator 2 P1 D00A5295 00?? | | Master Bryan's Dual Activator P1 D10A5294 00?? | | | | Infinite Strikes 800B8FFF 0000 | | | | 1 Strike And You Are Out D00B8FFF 0000 | | 800B8FFF 0002 | | | | 2 Strikes And You Are Out D00B8FFF 0000 | | 800B8FFF 0001 | | | | Infinite Balls 800B9000 0000 | | | | 1 Ball And You Walk D00B9000 0000 | | 800B9000 0003 | | | | 2 Balls And You Walk D00B9000 0000 | | 800B9000 0002 | | | | 3 Balls And You Walk D00B9000 0000 | | 800B9000 0001 | | | | Infinite Outs 800B9001 0000 | | | | 1 Out And You Are Out D00B9001 0000 | | 800B9001 0002 | | | | 2 Outs And You Are Out D00B9001 0000 | | 800B9001 0001 | | | | Home Team Score Modifier 800B8D11 00?? | | Away Team Score Modifier 800B8D0D 00?? | | Home Team Hits Modifier 800B8D12 00?? | | Away Team Hits Modifier 800B8D0E 00?? | | Home Team Errors Modifier 800B8D13 00?? | | Away Team Errors Modifier 800B8D0F 00?? | | | |_____________________________________________________________| ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ _____________ Best Pitchers Credit to Aquatic Tums Split Fingers, Splitters are the best pitches. 2nd best pitches Curve and Slider.
