Tokui-Waza Guide - Guide for Dragon Ball Z: Collectible Card Game

In this card game there are 6 Tokui-Waza(fighting)styles. They are 
Blue,Black,Red,Orange,Saiyan,and Namekian fighting styles. The only time you 
can declare a Tokui-Waza is only if you have ONE type of fighting style in your 
deck(ex. Red). Also if you have the right cards in order to declare it as well. 
If you have won a mastery card you can use the mastery card for your customized 
deck to declare your fighting style but it has to match what Tokui-Waza your 
declaring. For example I created a deck that has nothing but "red" style cards 
in it. So in this case I'm only able to declare a Red style Touki-Waza. In 
reverse terms there may be times that you can't declare a Tokui-Waza either 
because of "conflicting" cards(ex. orange cards in a "blue" style deck) which 
you have to remove the "conflicting" cards in order to declare a Tokui-Waza or 
because of your Main Personality. Sometimes your Main Personality can't declare 
a "certain" type of fighting style because that style is "useful" only to them
(ex. Gohan can't declare a Namekian style Tokui-Waza).


Now I will mention who will be able to declare the Touki-Waza, cards 
recommended (of the fighting style or cards needed to add), is it recommended 
(by 1-5 star rank), how its mastery is used, who can use it, best person(if 
any) to use it and my personal opinion towards the fighting style.

Ok let's get started!

Saiyan Style Touki-Waza

How Mastery is used: Draw a card when entering combat, If that card is a Saiyan 
Style card, you may show it to your opponent and your opponent loses 4 power 
stages to a minimum of 0.
Recommendation: **
Who can use it: Saiyans (Goku,Vegeta,Gohan,Trunks)
Best Person: (Goku)
Cards Recommended: (Saiyan Cross Punch/Defensive cards)
Opinion: well this isn't the most recommended deck to use for the other saiyans 
but goku proves to be the best to use it. it focuses more on the offensive so 
try to add more defensive cards into the batch. the Saiyan Cross Punch is one 
of the good elemental beams in the game, it causes 5 power stages of damage but 
if declared this Touki-Waza it will do 10 power stages instead! so if your 
opponent has less than 10, be perpared to discard life cards! i recommend using 
that card last.


Red Style Touki-Waza

How Mastery is used: Once per combat, in place of an attack, you may remove the 
top card in your discard pile from the game to raise your anger 1 level. If it 
is a Red Style card raise your anger 2 levels instead.
Recommendation: ****
Who can use it: Any
Best Person: (Gohan)
Cards Recommended: (Red Overbearing Attack,Red Gravity Drill,Red Back 
Kick/Anger cards)
Opinion: this deck is still most needed in terms of anger, which leads to a 
MPPV (Most Powerful Personality Victory). if this is your first time playing 
the game add anger cards into your deck to ensure the victory along with this 
style. this style focuses more on defense yet this is somewhat of an average 
size deck to me. the Red Back Kick will stop ANY energy attack even if the card 
fails. the Red Overbearing Attack is another elemental beam that will do +4 
power stages of damage and give you +2 anger when declared this Tokui-Waza. the 
Red Gravity Drill will make you discard your hand to stop any Physical/Energy 
attack performed against you. use that only when you have NO other defense 
cards to stop the attack in which you need to have at least one card in your 
hand to do so.


Orange Style Touki-Waza

How Mastery is used: All energy attacks performed by your Main Personality do 
+1 life card of damage if successful or cost 1 less power stage to perform to a 
minimum of 1. Orange Style energy attacks do +1 life card of damage if 
successful and cost 1 less power stage to perform to a minimum of 1 instead.
Recommendation: ***
Who can use it: Any
Best Person: (Frieza)
Cards Recommended: (Orange Scatter Shot, Orange Joint Restraint Drill,/Good 
Defense cards)
Opinion: Second most (somewhat) recommended deck. this deck focuses more on 
energy attacks than physical attacks. yet again the Orange Scatter Shot is 
another elemental beam and does five life cards of damage (six life cards and 
minus one power stage) and STAYS in your hand to be used one more time if 
declared this Tokui-Waza. since there are few physical attack cards in the 
orange style deck, there is a lot of defense cards that suck. I suggest that 
you slap some good defense cards in this deck. Also the physical attack cards 
really feel like weak slap punches. when that Orange Joint Restraint Drill 
comes into play, all of your physical attacks do +4 power stages of damage 
making them weak slaps feel like sucker punches. whenever Freiza is your MP, 
boy toss in that drill and punch their face in! 


Blue Style Touki-Waza

How Mastery is used: Your opponent must now reach 6 anger to gain a personality 
level. All successful Blue Style attacks also lower you opponent’s anger one 
level.
Recommendation: *
Who can use it: Any
Best Person: Any
Cards Recommended: (Blue Cradle Drill, Blue Foot Smash,/Good Offense or Defense 
cards, Anti-Anger cards)
Opinion: this deck is a great counter to a Red Style Tokui-Waza. Sadly it’s not 
used as much. I suggest that you slap some good offense/defense cards in this 
deck. Also tossing in some Anti-Anger cards would help too in order to stop a 
MPPV. The Blue Cradle Drill is a very good drill in which any life card that 
you take; your foe loses that many power stages to a minimum of zero of course. 
The Blue Foot Smash is another elemental beam and this physical attack does +4 
power stages of damage. If declared this Tokui-Waza, it lowers your opponent’s 
anger to zero.



Namekian Style Touki-Waza

How Mastery is used: When entering any Combat, you may draw the bottom card 
form your discard pile into your hand: if that card is a Namekian Style card 
raise your Main Personality to its highest power stage.
Recommendation: **
Who can use it: Piccolo, Nail
Best Person: Any of the two
Cards Recommended: (Namekian Dash, Namekian Attack Drill/Good Offense or 
Defense cards)
Opinion: this deck is a good use to only a Namekian. Sadly it’s not used as 
much but can be useful since you can get 80 cards with this Touki-Waza. I 
suggest that again you slap some good offense/defense cards in this deck. The 
Namekian Dash is another one of these elemental beams. Also it’s a physical 
attack doing +5 power stages of damage. If this card is declared this Touki-
Waza, you can choose to raise any personality to it highest power stage and 
takes the top four discarded cards and shuffles them back into your life deck. 
Very sweet deal but to really put on the hurt, toss in the Namekian Attack 
Drill and it will do +2 power stages more with each physical attack.


Black Style Touki-Waza

How Mastery is used: All of your successful attacks do +1 life card and + 1 
power stage of damage. Black Style attacks do +2 life cards and + 2 power 
stages of damage instead.
Recommendation: *****
Who can use it: Any
Best Person: Freiza
Cards Recommended: (Black Body Destruction, Black Energy Deflection Drill, 
Black Arm Bar Drill)
Opinion: this deck is the most devastating and the most recommended deck in the 
world! I mean you can really serve up real good sucker punches that the 
opponent either goes flying in the air or gets his ass handed to him…REAL HARD! 
Anyway this deck is a real fast way to win. Black Arm Bar Drill will stop the 
first energy attack performed against you in a combat but will be immediately 
discarded that is if ANY Orange Drills come into play. Likewise if any orange 
drills are in play—it can’t be played until the orange drills are discarded. 
But if you can’t play it the Black Energy Deflection Drill will take an energy 
card (that is if you have one) from your hand that you can use to stop an 
opponent’s energy attack against you. In which you have to pay its cost in 
order to stop it and your opponent discards one life card; it’s very useful 
indeed. Also the Black Body Destruction card is again another elemental beam. 
It’s a physical attack that does +4 power stages of damage or stops a physical 
attack. If declared this Touki-Waza, you are able to discard a chosen card from 
your opponent’s hand. Pretty sweet deal don’t you think? Also if your MP is 
Freiza, again this will make your opponent beg for mercy after you 
RRRRREEEEEAAAAAALLLLLLLYYYYYYYY kicked his ass!
