London-

It's April 14, 1942 and the world is at war.....again. You were in the British
Secret Service until the beginning of the last war. You were fired 6 days after
World War One had started but it wasn't the war that lead to your dismissel-it was
the R.M.S. Titanic.

You are in your London flat at 9 Stanley Cresent, listening to the news on the
radio. It is not a pretty sight. It hasn't been for a long time. Going on two years
of German air raids and the rest of the world isn't doing great either, as you hear
on the radio. The radio is saying,

ONCE AGAIN, TODAYS TOP STORIES. LONDON HAS ENDURED ANOTHER NIGHT OF GERMAN BOMBING.
MOST DAMAGE WAS CONCENTRATED IN THE EAST END. THE R.A.F. HAS STRUCH ENEMY AERODROMES
IN LE HAVRE AND THE LOW COUNTRIES. IN RUSSIA, FURTHER GERMAN LOSSES ARE REPORTED
AROUND LENINGRAD. IN ASIA, THE AMERICAN FORTRESS AT CORREGIDOR IS STILL DEFIANT, BUT
JAPANESE FORCES ARE REPORTED NEARING THE BURMESE OIL FIELDS. NOW WE WILL BRING YOU
BACK TO REGULAR BROADCAST.

You aren't to worried about that at the moment. You have another problem-the
rent.the voice of your landlady obtrudes over the voice of the newsreporter on the
radio. She says, "About time you are awake. You're twoweeks late with your rent. War
or no war, a tenant in arrears is not a tenant I'll put up with.If you don't pay by
today, it's the street, I promise." Shutting her voice out of your mind, you wander
around the flat. You don't need to look at the model of the Titanic to remember what
had happened. That day has been stuck in your brain for the past 30 years. The
memories rise up to haunt you, awake or asleep. The book on the armchair cannot be
opened but you look at the headline used as a bookmark that reads, "Lady Georgia and
Lord Charles Lambeth Dead" on the desk, lye more reminders of your ruined life. 3
postcards-the sum total of your personal correspondence. And, in the desk
drawer...It took them 2 years to get to it but you were eventually sacked. You pick
up the pocketwatch and recall the words of your superior in the Service. "Someone
must shoulder the blame. We can't be held responsible. You were the scapegoat." You
can't help wondering whether you could have made a difference. Can one man's actions
truly affect the course of events? Pointless speculation, really. As Jack said in
the postcard, "You can't change the past. You must look ahead," Just then you hear
the air raid warning go off. You are used to this. Nothing to be done really. You
walk up to your windows and the bomb hits the flat and you just have enough time to
think, "Good heavens! That one was close!", before the flames engulf your building.

It is over. Or is it.....?

The past. Forever locked in regret. But what if the past could be changed?
30 years have come and gone since the night that saw the end of the world, my world.
The Service needed someone on the Titanic. They chose me. I was to wait for a signal
from my contact. So, I remained in my cabin. I left only once. Georgia was onboard.
And that's when it came. There'd be no second chance. it was Sunday, April 14, too
late, you see, for the Titanic, for me. What if I'd met with my contact, prevented
disaster? What if the past could be changed? What then?

Titanic Afloat-

It's been four days now. When you boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg on April 10, you
went directly to your stateroom-c-73-and stayed there ever since. You were told to
wait for a signal from your contact. Despite the note from Georgia, you still wait.
The waiting is getting hard. You hear a knock on the door. It's Smethells, your
steward. He asks you if you've been seasick. You think of a way to explain why you
haven't been out of your stateroom for four days. He hands you a note on a silver
salver. It reads,

APRIL 14, 1912

MEET ME BY THE ELCETRIC CAMEL.....NOW!
                          -P.P.

Electric camel...What the hell? Smethells tells you it's an exercise machine in the
gymnasium. You also receive a map of the ship. When he leaves, you pick up the
pocketwatch on the bureau. Open the drawer to see the note from Georgia. You shake
your head. No time for her now. Georgia will have to wait. You have to meet with
your contact. Smethells describes P.P. as a "most insistent young lady." This
meeting is going to be interesting. You grab the bed off the bed and leave the room.

You are finally out of your room for the first time in four days. It feels good. You
turn left and walk down the corridor and through the double doors to the Grand
Staircase. You notice the purser's office to the right. Useful source of
information. You wonder if should take the lift but it feels to good to be
moving. Passing Smethells, you go up the stairs until you reach A-deck. You meet a
fellow named Trask who claims to be a psychic but that is nonsense. You walk up the
last flight of stairs and you see the clock with the fancy wood carvings of the two
angels. You wonder what they represent. You head out of the staircase on the
starboard side and into the gymnasium. There you will meet your contact, Penny
Pringle. She shows you a picture of the German, named Zeitel. He has in his
possesion a prized copy of the Rubaiyat, a book with poetry in it. Pringle sugguests
you get into the wireless room and look for a telegram from Zeitel. When you leave
the gymnasium, go around to the port side of the ship where you will here a man
say "C'mere," Go talk to him. His name is Max Seidelmann. He will invite you to go
to the Cafe' Parisian. He says there is a man named Zeitel there. Just the person
you want to meet. Agree and you will be warped to the Cafe' Perisian where you will
meet Zeitel and his partner Willie Von Haderlitz. You have a feeling those two are
up to something. His word of advise at the end of the chat to not wander the ship
makes you think he suspects you being an agent. When he leaves, Max will ask you if
you want to go to the Smoking room.
Whether you say yes, or no, you will have to walk there yourself. Before you go to
the smoking room, you will notice Zeitel left his pipe on the table. Drag it to your
bag and then leave. The Smoking room is on the landing of the aft grand staircase.
When there, Max will introduce you to a french card player, Buick Riveria. You can
play blackjack with him. When you're done, head to your cabin, C-73 and open the
trunk using the key in your bag. In the bottom 2 drawers there is a cryptograph.
Flip the bottom switch to decode. Attach the green and red wires together and drag
the message to the bottom of the screen. Enter the message and the numbers and "AM"
and press decode. A note will come out saying,

RUNYIAT HIDDEN IN BOILER ROOM 3, COAL SHUTE 4. SB WILL DELIVER PAINTING AFTER
PICKUP...WILL CONFIRM....-ZEITEL..

Go out to the boatdeck and head astern and go into the Second Class Stairs. Go down
to F-deck. On the E-deck level, you might run into Reverand Edgar Troutt who will
talk to you about Scotland Road, a cabin hallway on E-deck. Don't worry about that
and just enter the F-deck cabins and talk to Penny. She tells you the stairs to G-
deck are close by. Turn left at her cabin and go down the stairs until you reach a
door that says, "Turbine Room". Enter. Walk through the Turbine room and into the
Control Room. A seaman is there. He will no let you into the engine room unless you
fix the controls for him so say this to him,

"Perhaps I can solve the problem for you,"

"I'll help,"

TO FIX THE CONTROLS

1-TURN THE 3 RED KNOBS ALL THE WAY COUNTER-CLOCKWISE.

2-PUSH THE MIDDLE LEVER GENTLY UNTIL THE NEEDLE GOES INTO THE GREEN ZONE.

Once the controls are fixed, the seaman will let you go into the engine and boiler
rooms. Walk through the Engine room, then walk through Boiler 1 and 2. In room 3,
you will meet Vlad. Say to him,

"What do you want?"
"What are your troubles?"
"Can't you get it yourself?"
"What's your friend's name?"

Vlad will ask you to get a package from Sasha Barbicon for him. Barbicon is in
cabin, A-14. Before you do the favor, go down the catwalk and open coal shute 4. The
rubyiat is there. Don't leave with it or Vlad will shoot you. Instead, move it to
coal shute 5 then go off to Barbicon. When you get to Barbicon say to him,

"I'm looking for a Mr. Barbicon,"
"I'm to receive a package from Vlad,"
"What will he do in America?"
"What happened to his family?"
"Good night,"

Barbicon will give you the package. Deliver it to Vlad in Boiler Room 3 and he will
leave. Go down the catwalk again and get the Rubyiat!!! Head to Pringle's cabin and
tell her you got the rubyiat. She tells you to leave it with the purser. The purser
is in the booth by the Staircase on C-deck. He will be saying, "Thayer.....Thayer..."
Say to him,

"What about Mr. Thayer?"

He tells you he needs someone to send a telegram. Agree to help him. He will give
you the message. Before you do that, you should visit Georgia in cabin B-70. Talk to
her until her husband, Lord Charles Lambeth comes in. Charles sends you out. Go to
the smoking room and talk to Charles there. He tells you he is in dept with Andrew
Conkling and that Georgia's necklace is fake.(Like I said) He tells you he left the
real one with Sasha Barbicon. Head towards Barbicon's cabin A-14. There is a
crewmember that tells you A-deck has been having problems with the electric. The man
leaves to go get his screwdriver. Open the fusebox and shut the power off in A-14.
You will see him leave his cabin. Turn his power back on and enter his room. On the
dresser there should be a russian doll. It is a safe! The combination is,

5

                                  0 1 1 2 5 3 7 4

The doll's head should come off. Retrieve the real necklace and put the fake one in.
Click on your map and warp to the Grand Staircase or you can walk out and be shot by
Barbicon. Now you can go to the wireless room to send the telegram.

TO TURN THE MACHINE ON

1-FLIP THE LEFT SWITCH TO "TRANS'

2-ON THE DEVICE WITH THE YELLOW FACE, TURN THE DIAL TO THE LEFT UNTIL IT REACHES 200.

3-TURN THE LAST DEVICE TO 'ON' POSITION.

Type in the message and leave the Wireless Room. Go back to the Purser and tell him
you sent the telegram. He will leave his post to go tell Mr. Thayer that his
telegram is sent. Look at the book that is on his desk. On the second page and it
should say, "Barbicon Galleries,". Exit the Purser's office and go back in and he
should be back at his post. Say to him,

"I need to get into the cargo hold,"

"Can I find the cufflink for you,"

Go down to the D-Deck stairs. The cufflink should be on the chair next to the
painting. Give the Purser the cufflink. He will leave his post open this time. Go in
and grab the keys with the fancy handle. Go down to the Forecastle deck and enter
the door that says, "Cargo Bay,". The seaman will stop you but let you in when he
sees the keys. When you are in the Cargo hold, go forward 3 times then go into the
door on the right. Open the door to the car and turn on the headlights. Go to the
box they are shining on and open it and get the painting.(if the painting is not
there, please see Extra's Section) Go to Penny's cabin to tell her you have the
painting. She tells you that Smethells want to speak with you. Go to the C-deck
stairs and speak to him. He tells you that Willie Von Haderlitz wants to fence with
you.. Ask Smethells for directions to the squash court. Follow them. once there,
fence with Haderlitz. it doesn't matter if you win or lose. He will still tell you
some useful information. Head back to Smethells after you are done fencing and he
will give you Willie's ring. Go to Penny and speak with her. Then go to the grand
Staircase where you will meet Trask, a physcic. Ask him if he will read the ring for
you. He will tell you about a girl named Claris Limehouse, a friend of Haderlitz's.
Go and visit Claris in cabin D-19. She asks you if she can keep the ring.
Say "yes,". Go to Penny's cabin and she will tell you that Haderlitz was killed in
the electric bath. She will give you a gas pen for defence but don't use it until
later. Go talk to Morrow and ask him if you can investigate the electric bath. He
will say "yes,". Go down to the Turkish bath and enter the door by the faucet. Go
down the hall and into the door on the right. Next to Haderlitz's body is a peice of
paper that says,

AND MANY KNOTS UNRAVEL'D BY THE ROAD.

This is talking about Scotland Road. (the cabin hallway on E-deck) go onto the
Second Class Stairs and exit onto Scotland Road on E-deck. Head aft until you see an
axe and a rope. Examine them. Jack hacker will show up and give you another peice of
paper that says,

BUT STILL THE VINE HER ANCIENT RUBY FIELDS.BUT STILL A GARDEN BY THE WATER BLOWS.

This one is talking about the Parisian Cafe' so head there. Go to the table Zeitel
was sitting at before. There is a pack of Old Red Ancient Ruby Cigarettes. Go to the
Smoking Room. Give the cigarettes to Max. He'll tell you Haderlitz is on the 4th
smokestack. But is that possible?! Isn't he dead?!

Go to the Purser's office and leave the Painting and Necklace with him. Go to Penny
and then to the Engine room where the guy wil ask you to fix the controls again. In
the engine room, go up the stairs to the left and vlad is picking a fight. It
doesn't matter if you win or lose though it is easier to lose. Climb the ladder and
retrieve the notebook at the top. Zeitel will appear and demand the notebook. During
your conversation, Titanic will hit an iceberg. Give it to him and use the gas pen
to stun him. Run down the stairs . You meet Vlad at the bottom who knocks you out
cold with a giant wrench.

TITANIC SINKING

After you change the CD...agian, you wake up in your cabin, C-73. Penny knocks on
your door and gives you the necklace, rubyiat, and the painting. The ship is sinking
fast so you have one hour to get the notebook and get off the ship before she sinks!
Go to Zeitel's cabin, C-59. He will leave the notebook and lock you in his cabin.
Open the briefcase on the couch. It's a bomb. You can do 2 things.

1-Disarming the bomb by setting the middle switch to 3, left switch to 2, wait until
the clock goes to 0. It won't blow up. Set the middle switch back to 2 and the left
to 3. You can get the key and leave with the notebook.

2-You can just open the briefcase and get the key and walk out with the notebook.

Go up to the boatdeck and you will run into the Gorse-Jones'. They will offer you a
spot in their lifeboat. Say yes only if you have the necklace, rubyiat, painting and
notebook. You get to see the Titanic sink. You return to your aprtment in London.
There is a different painting on the wall. CONGRAGUlATIONS! YOU BEAT THE GAME!!!

Extras

If the painting wasn't in the box in the Cargo Hold, you can speak to Daisey
Cashmore, she'll ask for a favor. Go to the Purser and ask him what the initials GQC
stand for. In return she will tell you Andrew Conkling wants to see you. He is in
Scotland Road aft. He will tell you Jack Hacker wants to meet you on the poop deck.
He tells you he wants money for the letter. Tell Conkling in cabin B-59. When the
Titanic is sinking, you can find Beatrix Conkling with a baby. Take the baby to the
Hackers in cabin F-59 and they will give you the painting for it. Now go to the
Smoking Room and bet the real necklace for a boat pass againced Buick riveria in a
game of Blackjack. Then give it to Officer Morrow for a place in a lifeboat.

If you are lost in the middle of the game, you can ask the lift attendant for
directions. He is always by every elevator except for when the Titanic is sinking.
