My name is Kambel and I enjoy creating guides and walkthroughs that help other succeed in playing various games. Now, I would like to thank you for choosing my walkthrough as your how-to guide. I'me very pleased. Before we start on the game's step-by-step, I would like to mention that this game is highly addictive. If you do not wish to be hooked on this game, feel free to delete the app. If you are brave enough to try it, then welcome to the awesome Strategy game known as Arcane Empires. Starting a game [Walk3.2]------ ---------------- Remember, once you start the game, you will be under Beginner's Protection, this will last for 7 days or until your Citadel reches level 5. I would not upgrade my Citadel to level 5 until a few minutes before your Beginner's Protect runs out. This way you will be given 7 days to build your city before you are vulnerable to attacks. But we will discuss this later on. Now to start a game, you will have to follow the in-game tutorial. You can turn off the tutorial later on. Once you have finished the tutorial, the first thing you should do is to give yourself a new name. To change your screen name, you must click the "Level/Power/Name" button found on the city screen in the top left-hand corner. Once you have opened it up, a new screen will appear. This creen will have three tabs. The tabs are "Details" "Cities" and "World". The main screen will have the "Details" tab open. The other two tabs we will discuss later on. If you look near the bottom of this screen, you should see a white bar. Click on this. Now insert the screen name you wish to use for yourself. Once done, press the "Use" button. Congrats, you have just changed your name. Now, the next thing we need to do is build some Homesteads for your townspeople. To do so, click on an empty lot anywhere in the city. Now click on "Homesteads" and now click on "Build". You are going to need at least 4 Homesteads. Level up those Homesteads to level 2. Leveling up your buildings [walk3.3]------ -------------------------- To level up your buildings to a higher level, simply tap on a Homestead or a Training Grounds or any building of your choice. If you have the correct amount of resources and you meet the proper requirements, a blue button will appear. It will say "Upgrade" on it. Tap it to upgrade your building. After you have upgraded your Homesteads to level 2, you should go build some ressource Farms. To access your resource fields, you can tap on the little button found in the bottom left-hand side of the screen. You are going to want more resource buildings. First, upgrade your "Farm" to level 5. Once you have a level 5 Farm, you will be able to build Managerie. Next build 3 more Farms in the empty lots next to your first Farm. The next thing you are going to wanna do is to build a couple of Sawmills Once you have finished, scroll the menu bar, found at bottom of the screen (it will show "Shop", "Missions", "Alliance" and "Mail"). Scroll the menu bar to the left. You will now see 4 new menus. The one we are going to need is "Settings". Once you have opened the "Settings" menu, click on the "Kabam ID". Next, click on "Create a new Kabam ID account". You will need to register this game with an email and password. Doing this will allow you to save your game progress and be able to participate in in-game events. You will also be able to continue your game on a different device, should you decide to. Once you have finished registering, return to the city screen. By now you should be a Level 3 player. If your not a Level 3 player yet, simply continue to build and upgrade your buildings until you have leveled up. Now, the next task is to build yourself an Embassy. This will only take you 15 seconds. When you have built your Embassy, you will be able to Create or Join an Alliance. To join or create an alliance, scroll the menu bar to the right, if you haven't already done so. Now I recommend Joining an alliance for now. This is the biggest challenge you must overcome... Choosing the right alliance to join. Choosing the right alliance can be very difficult. Each alliance has their own set of rules and have some requirements that must be matched before anyone can join. You are going to need an Active and helpful alliance, one that can also help you by donating extra resources for you so as you won't go dry while you are building your city. Finding one Alliance that matches these demands out of many can be frustrating. You don't wanna go joining one because they have a name that you like, that can sometimes in itself lead to danger. Choosing the right Alliance [walk3.4]------ --------------------------- When choosing an alliance, you will need to make sure that they can meet your needs. To choose the best alliance, it may be wise to send a message to their Chancellor or any other player within the guild. When sending the message, it would be best to ask them some of the following questions, as to make sure that your making the right decision. Remember, they have to be willing to help you through and through. The questions you should ask are: You must search for an alliance that is as active as your going to be, so your first question should be: 1. How active is your alliance? Next, you will need members who will be willing to help you grow strong and powerful, so your next question should be: 2. Would your alliance be able to provide me with help whenever I am in need, no matter what the issue may be? You are going to need an alliance that will have your back when your in trouble, so you need to ask: 3. If I get attacked by someone, depending on how big the attacker and his troops may be, would you be willing to reinforce me or at least attack him back, should the occasion ever arise? Next, you need to make sure that they can supply you with adequate resources so your next question aught to be: 4. If I run out of resources while I'm building or Training, would your alliance be willing to supply me with an adequate amount? You need to know if an alliance is at war with any other alliances, so you'll want to ask: 5. Is your alliance currently at war with two or more alliances? Now the following will be categories on which you may have to make a preference on when it comes to choosing an alliance. 1. Do I wanna be a might hugger or do I wanna use my powerful army to attack other players? 2. Do I care about being a top ranked player, if so do I need to be in a Top 10 allliance? 3. Do I want an alliance that's always chatting about in the chat room or do I want an alliance that will sit back and take action over peace ? Remember, when choosing an alliance that's right for you, they have to meet your criteria. Never forget that each player is different, so their views on what a perfect alliance for them will always be different. Now the next section I will cover will be how to train Troops and grow your power. Gaining Power [Walk3.5]------ ------------- First off, ask yourself this: "What is Power?" The answer "Power is the total calculation of how many troops you have at your disposal. Power is an indicator of how powerful you are. Power will determine who will win in an all out war or in a one-on-one battle royale. Power is your friend. When gaining Power, you first must have the following requirements: - You must have at least 4 Training Grounds built. The more Training Grounds you have, the faster your troop training will be. Also, the more Training Grounds you have built, will allow you to train more troop sequences. For example, if I have a total of 5 Training Grounds built, I can set up a queue of 5 different troops to be trained all at once. - One of those Training Grounds must be at least level 4 or higher. You only need 1 Training Ground to be a high level. The higher the level, the better the troops you can train. There are 3 Tiers of troops. To train the 1st tier, you need at least a Level 1-4 Training Ground. to train the Tier 2 troop set, your Training Ground need to be at least a level 4 - 6 Training and to train a Tier 3 troop set, you will require a level 7-10 Training Ground. How the more Training Grounds you have built thing works is: If you have one Level 9 Training Ground and three Level 1 Training Grounds, then using the Level 1 Training Ground you can still train any of the 3 differ- ent Tier troops. - You will need to have the following researches at Level 4 or higher: - Ancient Wisdom; Mythic Lore; Levitation Charm, Crystal Fusion; Crystal Mastery and Weapon Charm. - You will require to have a Rampart built to build Defensive Troops. However, I would not recommend building any kind of Defensive Troops. They may be the fastest to build, but they are the easiest to lose. Troops [walk3.6]------ ------ Your troops are used to protect your city from being plundered, and for attacking Islands, Imperial Forts, and other players. Each troop type has a Power value that contributes to your overall Power in the game. Increase your Power to become the strongest rebel in the free cities! Unit Stats ---------- Each unit in the game has stats that you can see by opening the Training Grounds. Here is what they mean: * Attack: This is how much damage each unit can deal. * Life: This is how much damage each unit can absorb before it is destroyed. * Speed: This stat determines how quickly that unit can move accross the Map. * Load: This is the amount of resources the unit can carry. Units are divided into 3 tiers. Troops in higher tiers have superior stats to those in the lower tiers. * Tier 1 (Rebels, Pegasus Knights, Centaurs, Supply Mules) * Tier 2 (Vanguard Warriors, Hawk Riders, Minotaurs, Supply Carts) * Tier 3 (War Mage, Griffons, Basilisks, Air Barges) Unit Types and Modifiers ------------------------ There are 4 distinct types of troops, divided into 3 tiers: * Ground (Rebels, Vanguard Warriors, War Mages) * Air (Pegasus Knights, Hawk Riders, Griffons) * Mythical (Centaurs, Minotaurs, Basilisks) * Supply (Supply Mule, Supply Carts, Air Barges) The unit types all have specified strengths and weaknesses against each other (with the exception of Supply Mules, which have no attacking power). Air Troops have a bonus against Ground Troops; Ground Troops have a bonus against Mythical Troops; Mythical Troops have a bonus against Air Troops. Higher tier troops will defeat lower tier troops even if they are weak against the opposing troop type. Captains and Research --------------------- The outcome of a battle is also affected by the level of the opposing Captain and the research completed by either side. Specifically, the higher the level of your Captain assigned to march, and of your Weapon Charm and Healing Charm the better your chance of winning. Hide Troop Option ----------------- The Hide Troops feature is located inside your Citadel. You can turn on Hide Troops if you would like to avoid losing troops to an enemy attack. This allows you to build up your troops and fight another day. Defending with troops can significantly increase your defensive capabilit- ies, but is a risky strategy. Defending troops can be destroyed by a superior attacker, and the cost of replacing them might be greater than the value of the resources looted in the attack. Buildings [walk3.7]------ --------- In this section I will we will be discussing the different type of buildings you will be using during your game-play. We will start with the most important building of the game, that is the Citadel. Citadel ------- The Citadel is the center of your City! Each upgrade allows you to conquer one more Island and use three new Resource fields. Tax Rate and Happiness ---------------------- Silver is required for a variety of in-game activities including Research and paying salaries to Captains assigned to Roles. Your Tax Rate determines the amount of Silver you can collect from your Population. The higher it is, the more Silver you collect. Be careful though - the lower the Happiness of your city, the harder it will be to raise your Population. Hide All Troops Option ---------------------- The Hide All Troops feature is located inside your Citadel. You can turn it on to avoid losing troops when you are under attack. This allows you to build up your troops and fight another day. Defending with troops can signifficantly increase your defensive capa- bilities, but is a risky strategy. Defending troops can be destroyed by a superior attacker, and the cost of replacing them might be greater than the value of the resources looted in the attack. Beginner's Protection --------------------- Every new player is granted a protection period during which they cannot attack other players and they cannot be attacked or scouted by other players. This period lasts for the first 7 days of play, or until your Ci- tadel reaches level 5, whichever comes first. Use this period to build up your city and your troops so you are prepared for battle! You may put your troops to the test by attacking Imperial Forts and un- occupied Islands. This will not end your Beginner's Protection. You may opt out of the Beginner's Protection before the 7 days are up. Once out of Beginner's Protection, your cities can be attacked by other players in the game. Cities can be defended by two types of units: Rampart defenses and troops. You may extend this peace period or declare peace at anytime by using a Truce item. These can be won in Mikko's Market or purchased from the Shop. Warehouse --------- The Warehouse protects your Food, Wood, Crystal, and Iron from being plunder- ed. Upgrade it to protect more Resources. Resources --------- Resources are used to upgrade buildings, train troops, and complete re- search. There are five main resources: Food, Wood, Crystal, Iron, and Sil- ver. Food, Wood, Crystal, and Iron are produced by Farms, Sawmills, Crys- tal Mines, and Ironworks respectively. Your resource production can be in- creased by building on more Field plots, conquering Islands, appointing a Captain to the Quartermaster position, conducting Research, and using Pro- duction Boost items. All resources except Silver can be protected from looting by your Warehouse. The higher the Warehouse level, the greater the protection limit. Silver is produced by taxing your Population. You can adjust your Tax Rate in your Citadel. Increasing the number and level of Homesteads raises Population, which also helps generate more Silver. Resources can be transfered to Alliance members, or between your own cities. Treasure -------- Data not yet available. Embassy ------- The Embassy allows you to join or create Alliances, and also houses reinforc- ing armies. Upgrade to house more reinforcements. Alliances --------- You need friends to survive in Arcane Empires. Join an Alliance to share Resources, coordinate attacks, socialize in the game and share tips and tricks on how to play more efficiently and effectively. Protect yourself from this dangerous world by joining an Alliance today! Join ---- To join an Alliance, simply tap on the Alliance tab and then the Find an Alliance button. You'll see all Alliances listed in order of Power. Tap the envelope icon to send a request to join. You will be notified via an in-game message if you are accepted into an Alliance. Create an Alliance ------------------ You may want to create your own Alliance, become Chancellor and climb up the Alliance rankings by acquiring members and working with them to defeat others! Reinforcements -------------- You can only reinforce and be reinforced by players in the same Alliance. You can receive individual reinforcements up to the level of your Embassy. In other words, if you have a Level 5 Embassy, you can receive five rein- forcing marches, each conatining an unlimited number of troops. Remember, all reinforcing troops in your city will consume Food. Reports ------- As a member of an Alliance, you can view all of the scout and march report for every member of your Alliance. However, if the individual player has deleted a march report in their Reports folder, it will also be deleted in the Alliance Reports folder. Alliance Chat ------------- One of the biggest advantages of being a member of an Alliance is the abi- lity to socialize and coordinate with your fellow Alliance members. To vi- ew Alliance Chat, tap on the Chat bar and then the Alliance tab at the top Alliance Messaging ------------------ Alliance Officers can send mass messages to all alliance members by tappin Alliance and then the Message Everyone button on the Info tab. Diplomacy --------- Alliance officers can set diplomacy for other Alliances in the world. The three options for diplomacy are Hostile, Friendly, and Neutral. All Friendly settings must be reciprocated. In other words, if an Alliance A marks Alliance B as Friendly, Alliance B must reciprocate with the same setting for Alliance A for the official Diplomacy setting of Friendly to take effect. A Hostile setting will take effect immediately and does not require reci- procation. Relief Station -------------- The Relief Station helps your troops move faster to and from your Cities and those of your allies. Upgrade to move even faster! The Relief Station increases your troops' march speed between your cities and to your allies' cities. This means a decrease in the amount of time it takes them to transport, reinforce or be reassigned. The more you upgrade the Relief Station, the faster they will march. Watch Tower ----------- The Watch Tower gives you early warning of incoming attacks. The higher its level, the more detailed information you gain. Levels ------ You will be provided information on incoming attacks based on the level of your Watch Tower: Level 1: Warns you of an impending attack Level 2: Increases your scouting efficiency Level 3: Tells you the time until arrival of an impending attack Level 4: Tells you the level and alliance of the player attacking you Level 5: Tells you the estimated number of troops involved in the attack Level 6: Tells you the troop types involved in the attack Level 7: Tells you the estimated number of each troop type involved in the attack Level 8: Tells you the exact number of each troop type involved in the at- tack Level 9: Tells you the level of the Captain leading the attack Level 1o: Tells you the exact research levels of the player sending the attack Incoming Attack --------------- If you are in the game and an attack is launched against one of your cities or islands, you will see a red icon with crossed swords at the top left of the game window. To see the deatails of the incoming attack, tap on the icon or the Watch Tower abd then on the Incoming Attacks tab. On the next screen, tap the '>' button to see the details of a specific attack. The information provided will be based on the level of your Watch Tower. Please note that if the attack is targeting an occupied island, informa- tion will be provided based on the Watch Tower level of the city that oc- cupies the island. Smokescreen ----------- If you want to prevent enemies from scouting you, buy the Smokescreen item It protects you for 24 hours. Ramparts -------- Ramparts protect your City and allow you to build Defenses. Upgrade to unlock better defensive units. Defensive Units and Ramparts ---------------------------- Defensive units are used to defend your city from incoming attacks. Build- ing up your Ramparts and defenses is a good way to defend your city, boost your Power and intimidate other players. Thesr defenses are not troops, but they do have their own Power Values. Unlike troops, these defenses cannot be set to Hide or Defend: they are always active. Defensive units are divided into 3 different types: * Ground (Wolf Pits) * Air (Crystal Spikes) * Mythical (Fog Horns, Bolas Throwers) Air defenses jave a bonus against Ground troops; Ground defenses have a bonus against Mythical troops; Mythical defenses have a bonus against Air troops. Homestead --------- Homesteads provide homes for your Population. Upgrade them to raise your Population. Population ---------- Population consists of the people in your city. Building Homesteads adds to to city's Population Limit. The happier the Population, the closer the Population value will come to the Population limit. You can boost your Population to the limit temporarily by using the Refu- gees item. Idle Population is the number of people available to put to work in fields and to train for troops. Idle Population still contributes to tax income. Training Grounds ---------------- Train your troops at the Training Grounds. Better troops require higher level Training Grounds. Build more Training Grounds to speed up training. Troops ------ Your troops are used to protect your city from being plundered, and for attacking Islands, Imperial Forts, and other players. * Life: This is how much damage each unit can absorb before it is de- stroyed. * Speed: This stat determines how quickly that unit can move accross the Map. * Load: This is the amount of resources the unit can carry. Units are divided into 3 tiers. Troops in higher tiers have superior stats to those in lower tiers. * Tier 1 (Rebels, Pegasus Knights, Centaurs, Supply Mules) * Tier 2 (Vanguard Warriors, Hawk Riders, Minotaurs, Supply Carts) * Tier 3 (War Mage, Griffons, Basilisks, Air Barges) Unit Types and Modifiers ------------------------ There are 4 distinct types of troops, divided into 3 tiers: * Ground (Rebels, Vanguard Warriors, War Mages) * Air (Pegasus Knights, Hawk Riders, Griffons) * Mythical (Centaurs, Minotaurs, Basilisks) * Supply (Supply Mules, Supply Carts, Air Barges) The unit types all have specified strengths and weaknesses against each other (with the exception of Supply Mules which have no attacking power). Air Troops have a bonus against Ground Troops; Ground Troops have a bonus againts Mythical Troops; Mythical Troops have a bonus against Air Troops. Higher tier troops will defeat lower tier troops even if they are weak against the opposing troop type. Captains and Research --------------------- The outcome of a battle is also affected by the level of the opposing Cap- tains and the research completed by either side. Specifically, the higher the level of your Captain assigned to march, and of your Weapon Charm and Healing Charms, the better your chance of winning. Hide Troop Option ----------------- The Hide Troops feature is located inside your Citadel. You can turn on Hide Troops if you would like to avoid losing troops to an enemy attack. This allows you to build up your troops and fight another day. Defending with troops can significantly increase your defensive capabili- ties, but is a risky strategy. Defending troops can be destroyed by a su- perior attacker, and the cost of replacing them might be greater than the value of the resouces looted in the attack. Rally Point ----------- Assemble your troops at the Rally Point to attack enemies, reinforce allies, or transport resources. Upgrade to send more troops. March ----- Marches move your troops around the Map. There are 3 types of Marches: At- tack, Reinforce, and Transport. Attack: You can attack Islands, Imperial Forts, and other players. Each attack must be led by a Captain. The number of troops you can send and the number of simultaneous marches are determined by the level of your Rally Point. Reinforce: You can reinforce your Islands and allied cities. Reinforcing troops consume Food while in allied cities. The number of armies allowed to reinforce an allied city is determined by the level of the Embassy in that city. Transport: Support an Alliance member with resources, or move them between your cities. Transport marches do not require a Captain. Scout ----- Scouting gives you vital information about locations on the Map. Scouting is free, but you are limited to launching one Scout at a time and it takes time for information to be collected. Research higher levels of Second Sight to yield more information with each Scout. Alternately, you can pur- chase Instant Scout with Gold: it produces Scout reports with information equivalent to level 10 Second Sight. Map --- The Map is where the action is. Attack and conquer Islands, loot Imperial Forts, attack enemies, and help allies. Swipe with your finger to move around the Map. Tap on an individual tile to bring up that tile's details, tap the tile again to close the details pop-up. Tap with two fingers to toggle on/off individual tile levels. The buttons at the top of the screen allows you to (from left): center the map on your city, open your saved Bookmarks, and jump to specific coordinates on the map. There are three types of map tiles: Islands, Imperial Forts, and Cities. Islands help boost your resource production. Different Islands boost different resources: for example, owning a level 6 Verdant Isle will boost your food produxtion by 30%. To own an Island, you must attack it and win the battle. You can own a number of Islands equal to your Citadel's level. You can abandon an Island that you own by going to the Citadel and select- ing the Conquests tab. Imperial Forts are owned by the evil Prince Dessen. Attack them and return home with vauable resources! Higher level Imperial Forts are harder to beat, but also hold more resources. You cannot own an Imperial Fort. Cities are owned by other players. Attack them to loot resources, or send resources or reinforcing troops to cities owned by your allies. Cities represent other users in the game. If you are in an Alliance, your Alliance cities will be displayed with a blue flag, hostile alliances will have a red flag displayed. Combat Mechanics ---------------- In Arcane Empires, players can train troops and use them to attack Islands Imperial Forts, and other players. Conquering Islands can help boost your resource production, while attacking Imperial Forts and other players can be a good source of additional resources. Attack and Scout (b4975) ---------------- How to send an attack: 1. Find your target in the map view 2. Tap on that tile 3. Tap Attack 4. Choose a Captain to lead the attack 5. Choose the type and amount of troops tjat you would like to March 6. Select Use or Buy combat boost items if desired 7. Tap Attack 8. You may tap on Speed Up or Instant Finish Marxh, or wait for your troops to reach the target. 9. After the troops are done fighting, you will receive a battle report under Mail - Report. You may also choose to scout first, and learn about your target before at- tacking. Scout reports are also placed inside your Mail under Reports. Re- member, you can gather more information by researching higher levels or Second Sight. Laboratory ---------- The Laboratory allows you to research new and better technologies. Upgrading allows you to engage in more advanced research. Research -------- The Laboratory lets you research technologies that improve Resource pro- duction, strengthen your troops, reduce building time, and more! Foundry ------- The Foundry creates steel for weapons and armor. An upgraded Foundry unlocks more advanced troops. Aerie ----- The Aerie trains flying creatures such as Hawk Riders and Griffons. Officers' Quarters ------------------ The Officers' Quarters is where you manage your Captains's roles and experi- ence. Upgrade it to unlock more Captains. Captains -------- Captaons lead your armies into battle and give valuable boosts to your troops and city. To recruit more Captains, upgrade your Officers' Quarters Captains earn experience points (needed to level up) from battle and via certain combat Items available from the shop. You can also assign your Captains to a role in your city. As long as a Captain is assigned to a role, your city receives bonuses in proportion to the Captain's level. Captains assigned to a role need a salary in Silver and are not available for marches. Menagerie --------- The Menagerie's workers raise and train mythical creatures such as Minotaurs, and Basilisks. Arcane Spire ------------ The Arcane Spire holds Relics. Find Relics by attacking Imperial Forts. Fin- ish Relic sets to earn special items. The Relics feature is coming soon. Stay tuned! The Arcane Spire is where you store your Relics, and where you can combine them into useful items such as Second City Deeds. Upgrading your Arcane Spire increases your chance of discovering Relics when you attack Imperial Forts. Farm ---- Farms produce Food, important for buildings and for feeding your troops. Higher levels produce more Food. Resources --------- Resources are used to upgrade buildings, train troops, and complete re- search. There are five main resources: Food, Wood, Crystal, Iron, and Sil- ver. Food, Wood, Crystal, and Iron are produced by Farms, Sawmills, Crystal Mi- nes, and Ironworks respectively. Your resource production can be increased by building on more Field plots, conquering Islands, appointing a Captain to the Quartermaster position, conducting Research, and using Production Boost items. All resources except Silver can be protected from looting by your Ware- house. The higher the Warehouse level, the greater the protection limit. Silver is produced by taxing your Population. You can adjust your Tax Rate in your Citadel. Increasing the number and level of Homesteads raises Po- pulation, which also helps generate more Silver. Resources can be transfered to Alliance members, or between your own ci- ties. Sawmill ------- Sawmills produce Wood, which is necessary for building and for training troops. The Game Screen (City and Field view) [Walk3.8]------ ------------------------------------- The following is a text-view screen shot of the game's main City and Field view screens. There will also be a legend associated with the image. In the City and Field view section of your screen, the main focus will be concentrated on building and upgrading your Buildings, Researching Technologies, and Training Troops. On these two screens you will also be noticified about incoming attacks. _____________________________________________________________________ || Twilight... || Shadow... || || || 19 Power: 756300 || (666, 663) || 8 || || Lv. ============= || || Get Gold || |'------------------------''-----------------------''----------------'| | > 21:12 [ F 6.18m w 9.94m C 6.33m I 5.69m S 2.96m ] < | |---------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | Free Gold Every Day | | | |_____________________________________________________________________| | _____ _____ | || | | | | || 2 | 01x | 1 | | ||_____| |_____| | | _____ _____ | || | | | | || 4 | | 3 | | ||_____| |_____| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | _________ ___________ ___________ __________ ____| | | Islands | March | Train | Building | \/ | | _____ .----------------------------------------------------| || | | Laboratory (Lv.6) 4h7m6s | Speed Up | || 5 | |-----------------------------------------+----------| ||_____| | Crystalworking (Lv.5) 2h30m54s | Speed Up | |---------------------------------------------------------------------| | ... | Global Chat, Private Chat | | | & Alliance Chatrooms | |---------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | | 6 | | | | Items Missions Alliance Mail Chance Train Resear| '---------------------------------------------------------------------' .----------------------------------------------------. | Legend | |----------------------------------------------------| | 1 | Buff Info | |-----+----------------------------------------------| | 2 | Incoming Attack Warnings. | |-----+----------------------------------------------| | 3 | Mystery Chest Events. You can also use the Map to attack and conquer Wilds and Plains, attack other player's cities and attack Pictish Camps. Screenshot in progress. will be available in next update. Researching New Technologies [walk3.10]----- ---------------------------- To progress further in the game, you must Research new technology. By researching new technology, you can improve your Life and Attack of Troops, build Buildings faster, Increase Scouting speed and much more. The following is a list of all the Technologies that you will need to research as well as the requirements that need to be met in order to access them. All researches can be accessed via the Laboratory. By default, all technologies can be researched to level 9 through standard game play. They can reach level 10, which is the maximum level, only through the help of a level 10 laboratory and the necessary level 10 buildings that are required to perform said research. What is a Captain? ----------------- A Captain is the person who will lead your troops into battle. A Captain can be assigned to help with the resource production, building times, training times and research speed. A Captain is one of the most used and important character in Arcane Empires. Sending your Captain into battle will allow him to gain experience, other than using items. When using battle to level up your Captain's experience, he will gain them like so: * By being successful in battle, your Captain will earn 20 points at a time; * By failing in battle, your Captain will only gain 10 exp points. Here is a list of items that you can buy or win through an event that will help level up your Captain's level and add to his experience. .------. / Items | .---------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Item | Description | Cost | |-------------------------+------------------------------------------+------| | Seasoned Commander | Gives 1,ooo experience to one Captain. | 8 | | | | Gold | |-------------------------+------------------------------------------+------| | Veteran Commander | Gives 1o,ooo experience to one Captain. | 30 | | | | Gold | |-------------------------+------------------------------------------+------| | Military Genius | Gives 5o,ooo experience to one Captain. | 100 | | | | Gold | |-------------------------+------------------------------------------+------| | Captains Glory (L235) | Raise any Captain of level 234 or less to|EVENTS| | | level 235 | Only | |-------------------------+------------------------------------------+------| | item name coming soon. | Item.Desc coming soon. | - | '---------------------------------------------------------------------------' __________________ / Captains Listing | .------------------------------------------------------------------------| | In this chart, I will be listing the names of the Captains, in order of| | appearance, in the City that they are available in. | .--+------------------------------------------------------------------------| |LV| City 1 | City 2 | City 3 | City 4 | |--+----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | | Sprocket | | | | | 1|----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | | Masdar | | | | |--+----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | 2| Avara | | | | |--+----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | 3| Garu | | | | |--+----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | 4| Shaddig | | | | |--+----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | 5| Harnbeck | Leoman | | | |--|----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | | Gandar | Jassen | | | | 6|----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | | Brianne | Anya | | | '--|----------------+-----------------+------------------+------------------| | | | | | '------------------------------------------------------------------------' Mikko's Market [Walk3.13]----- -------------- Mikko's Market is a game of chance. Everyday starting at 0:00 UTC, you will receive a free Mikko's Token. Use it to receive a prize. To play the 'classic' Mikko's Market, you will require 1 Mikko's Token. You have a choice of selecting 1 of 9 chests. Each chest contains a different prize, and is never the same twice. You can win almost anything that can be found in the shop and then some, with the exclusion of Third City Deeds, Chest sets, and the Event items. In the Classic Mikko's Market game, there is a 1 in 100,000 chance of winning troop sets. The other Chance game is Mikko's 'Premium' Chance. In this Premium game, you will need a total of 6 Mikko's Tokens to receive one play. However, in the Premium chance game, you can win better prizes, like a Crystal Architecture, Troops, Second City Deeds, and much more. The following is a text-view screenshot of the Mikko's Market chance game. .--------------------------------------------. | .----. .------------. | | |home| Mikko's Market | 8 | | | '----' | Get Gold | | | '------------' | | .-------------------. .------------------. | | | Chance | | Premium Chance | | |.------------------------------------------.| || --------------------------. || || | || || Use Mikko's Tokens | || || to Play! | || || | || || | || || | || || --------------------------' || || .--------------------------------------. || || | | || || | .--------. .--------. .--------. | || || | |---[]---| |---[]---| |---[]---| | || || | | | | | | | | || || | '--------' '--------' '--------' | || || | | || || | .--------. .--------. .--------. | || || | |---[]---| |---[]---| |---[]---| | || || | | | | | | | | || || | '--------' '--------' '--------' | || || | | || || | .--------. .--------. .--------. | || || | |---[]---| |---[]---| |---[]---| | || || | | | | | | | | || || | '--------' '--------' '--------' | || || '--------------------------------------' || |'------------------------------------------'| '--------------------------------------------' As you can see from the text-view screenshot above, you are supplied with 9 chests, each containing a different item hidden within. Good luck and best of chances with your selections. Items and the Shop [Walk3.14]----- ------------------ We are sorry. This section has been removed from this walkthrough and placed into a seperate guide. Please refer yourself to the site where you found this walkthrough or to http://miyustory.com/faqs/arcaneempires for access to the "Items Guide". The "Items Guide" is available in both English and French lan- guages. Once again we are sorry for this inconveniance. Thank you. Alliance diplomacy and settings [walk3.16]----- ------------------------------- One of the biggest rules about being in an alliance is to know how to read the flags found on the map. There are two color flags: blue and red. As you may have already guessed, a red flag indicates a tile that is being occupied by an enemy of an alliance whose diplomacy is set to hostile against your alliance. Those occupying a red flag, are an imediate threat to you and to your allies. These players must be attacked without warning and without permission from your alliance leaders. As for the tiles that are marked with a blue flag, these are players are belonging to an alliance whose diplomacy is set to Friendly against your alliance. Blue Flags also indicate the location of a city or wild that is being occupied by one of your alliance members. Remember, an easier way to find out who you are friendly and hostile with, tap on the 'Alliance' tab found at the bottom of the screen, then tap on the 'Your Diplomacy with other Alliances' button that is found on the main window that appears. Now look at the list of all the alliances that you are Firendly or Hostile with. Finding your enemies [walk3.17]----- -------------------- There are many ways to find out the location of your enemy's City or Wild. One of the best ways that I prefer for doing this, is to access the map database found online at http://arcane.map.weezeewig.com and select your world. Now once you have access to the map, enter "user:" followed by the name of the player you are looking for, ex "user:TwilightGoddess" into the Search box. Now select "Search". If all goes well, you should see a list or a cluster of the user's current city and conquered wilds locations in relation to its position on the map. Another way is to wait for them to attack you, then read the Attack Report to see who attacked you, where they attacked you and where the attack came from in relation to the map, i.e. the Coordinates. One last way of finding your enemies is to thoroughly check each section and segment of the map by hand. Doing this last one, will take about 6-8 hours, if doine non-stop. I wouldn't recommend it. The Global and Alliance ChatRoom [walk3.18]----- -------------------------------- There exists currently two types of Chatrooms in the game, one is known as 'Global' and the other as 'Alliance'. If you have not yet figured it out, the Global chat room allows you to connect and communicate with all players from around the globe, whereas the Alliance chatroom only allows you to comunicate with players in realtime sho belong to your alliance. Using these chatrooms, you can obtain massive information about all the players and some will even occasionally spill secrets through whisper fails. To whisper someone, there are two ways of doing so, one is to click on the player's name, then tap on the Whisper button. Another way is to type in the user's name like this: "@TwilightGoddess" or like "\TwilightGoddess". Whispering someone is a way of communicating messages in chat that are not visable to the other players. As you may have already guessed, my in-game name is TwilightGoddess. How to 'Farm' another Player [walk3.25]----- ---------------------------- It is important to know how to Farm. Farming is the term we like to use when you are sending troops to another Player's Cities to obtain their loot. To Farm someone, you must first have at least 100 T1 troops and at least 10 Supply Carts or Barges. You also must take into fact, the level and power of the player's city you wish to farm. It is recommended that you attack a player who is no more than 100k might more powerful than you. If you wish to succeed at obtaining the player's loot, you must also send a high leveled Captain to lead the attack. The higher the level of the Captain, the higher the chances you will succeed in battle. There are two ways to farm someone. The first is to manually hunt for your target via the map. If you know the location x,y of your target, then you will want to insert them manually at the top of the map screen. Now tap on your target city. Now click on attack. Select your Captain, if any are available then select the troops you wish to send. Once that is done, tap on send attack to finish the proccess. If you are successful, you will be rewarded with your target's loot, if they had extra in the first place. Sometimes your attack will be successful, but you won't receive any loot. This is normal, so do not panic or worry. The second way to send an attack, is via the Rally Point. It is not recommended that you use the Rally Point when sending attacks, as it can take a little longer to perform than it would using the map. The First thing you do with the Rally Point, is to select 'March Troops. Then you will want to select 'Attack' from the list of options found below. Now, at the top you will see two blank text boxes, insert coordinates x,y and then tap on 'Next.' Now choose the Knight you want to lead the attack. Once that is complete, tap once again on 'Next'. Now select the amount of troops you wish to send. Now tap on 'Send'. Now you know how to attack/ Farm someone. These techniques can be transferred for Reinforcing, transporting and reassigning troops and resources to other cities. You can also use these techniques to attack and conquer Wilds and Pictish Camps. Do not attack Bogs as they cannot be attacked in the first place. Push Notifications [walk3.33]----- ------------------ Push Notifications are optional for use of the game, but they are turned on by default. You can turn them off by selecting 'Settings' tab found on the second section of the main Menu, also known as Hidden Menu mentioned above. I don't know how to describe the use and definition of the Push Notifications , so I will try my best and if I cannot succeed in giving you the proper in- formation, then I will remove this section from the walkthrough in one of the next updates. Push Notifications, when turned "on" inform the player that a particular project has been completed, such as Building finished being constructed, Research finished being researched, incoming attacks and incoming mail. Some of these features work, but others don't. If you have the Push Notifications turned on, you will be notified on the 'Lock Screen' or via a banner on your iOS device. There are currently three Push Notification options: City, March and Mail. The Mail Notification is very buggy so 99.9% of the time, you will NOT be notified of incoming mail. As for the City Notifications, Kabam, INC. has removed notifications of incoming attacks from the game as it was causing some major technical difficulties for the development team when they we're making the game Android and Mobile compatible. As for the rest of the City notifications, you will be informed when you have successfully finished building, researching and when you have finished training Troops, and you will even be notified when your City has run out of Food. Very Handy, eh? Now for the 'March Notifications', you will be notified when you have finished sending an attack, reassigning troops, or finished transporting resources. Push Notifications are a great way to keep yourself informed about anything that goes on in you're City. In my opinion, you should keep the Push Notifications turned on at all Times. Kabam ID [Walk3.34]------ -------- In order to participate in In-Game events and contests, you must first, if you haven't already done so, create a Kabam account. By creating an account, you will be able to save your game progress, be eligiable for in-game contest and special offers. But the most important factor of creating a Kabam account is you will earn an instant 75 Gems, free of charge. Game Center [Walk3.35]------ ----------- The Game Center feature is only availble on iOS devices. This feature allows the user to connect their current game account to their Game Center account in order to achieve certain pre-set achievement goals. These Achievement goals can be found in the next section of this Walkthrough. Once an account has been synched with the game, it cannot be undone. Please choose this option carefully. To sync your kabam game account with your Apple Game Center account, please follow these picture instructions below. 1. Locate your main menu at the bottom of your screen. One of the most commonly used methods is the "v-mail." The "V-mail" is similar to the e-mail we use in our everyday lives. This is very simple to use. The following figures will highlight how to use v-mail as to better understand it yourself. To access the v-mail, simply click on the "Mail" tab found on the Main Menu bar found at the bottom of the screen. The main Menu bar looks like this: |-----------------------------------------------------------------------| Regular Menu Hidden Menu |----------------------------------------|__________________________________. |.----. | | ||view|Items Quests Alliance Mail Chance Train Rsrch Rank setting share Gear| |'----' |__________________________________| '----------------------------------------' figure 3.37a First I would like to point out that there are 3 sections to the v-mail messaging systems. These are: a. Mail: The Mail folder contains all of your in-coming messages from the Game Developpers, your Alliance messages and mail sent to you from other Players in the game. It also contains all the Invites you receive asking if you want to join an Alliance. The Mail folder can hold and store up to 1,000 messages. Any new messages after that, an older one will be deleted. b. Reports: The Reports folder is used specifically for holding all of your In-coming and Out-going Scouts, Attack data, transportation and re-assignment of your Troops information. Additionally, your Reports folder can only hold up to 1,000 Reports. For every new Report that comes in, an older Report will automatically be deleted. c. Sent: The Sent folder contains a copy of all the mail you have sent to other players within the game. The sent folder also holds up to 1,000 messages. The following figure shows us the Main Mail Screen. .--------------------------------------------. | .------. .------..------.| | | home | Mail | stgs || Edit || | '------' '------''------'| | .----------. .-------------. .-----------. | | | Mail | | Reports | | Sent | | |-------v------------------------------------| |____________________________________________| | Feb 15, 20:17 PM | | Arcane Empires \ | | Welcome to Arcane Empires / | |____________________________________________| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |____________________________________________| | .-----------. .----------.| | 1 Messages | Empty | | Compose || | 0 New '-----------' '----------'| '--------------------------------------------' Figure 3.37a ______________________________________ | Click on the 'Empty' button to delete| | every message you have in the box you| | currently have open. | |________________ ___________________| |________________________| /_________________| __________________________ | .-----|/----. .----------._| Click on the 'Compose' | | 1 Messages | Empty | | Compose <_ button to create a new | | 0 New '-----------' '----------'|| message. | '--------------------------------------------'|__________________________| Figure 3.37b .--------------------------------------------. | .------. .------.| | | Back | | Send || | '------' '------_|______________________ | ________________________________________/ Insert the name of the | | | / Player you wish to | | |_______________________________________\ message here. | | \________________________| | .----------------------------------------. |_________________________ | | |/ Insert the title subject | | '----------------------------------------'\ of your messafe here. | | .----------------------------------------. \_________________________| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ________|_|_________________ | | / Insert your message here | | | \____________________________| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | '----------------------------------------' | '--------------------------------------------' Figure 3.37c Notes: This game requires the use of standard ASCII lettering, such as the letters A-Z, 1-9+0 and standard side text, such as: !@#$%&*()-_=+^ Any other text or emoticons will not work and therefore cannot be seen during anypart of the game.
