CheatCodes.com is the Internet's #1 destination for video game cheats, codes, hints, tips, FAQs, guides, and walkthroughs. We support all the latest video game platforms, and we post new stuff every single day, including holidays!
CheatCodes.com publishes new cheat codes as soon as we find out about them. We don't keep extra codes lying around waiting to be published. If we know about a cheat code, it's already our site.
No, we do not email individual codes. All our codes are formatted for display on our Web site. If you want updates via email, then you can become a CheatCodes.com Member (membership is free), add a game to your Watch List, and then choose to be notified by email when we add new content for that game.
If we know of a Web location to purchase a game title, we link to it on the game's information page.
A cheat code® (referred to in its generic form as either a "cheat" or "code") is a key sequence, password, or series of steps to be entered within a video game that will provide the player some object, ability, or access to a level or location within the game that is secret, hidden, or that would have otherwise been unobtainable or unavailable to the player. For example, a cheat could be a series of controller buttons that would allow the player to jump to a different level, unlock a new car, or turn or activate a special "mode" (such as being invisible, God Mode, super speed, etc.).
A "hint" or "tip" is a piece of information that helps you figure out where to go or how to accomplish something difficult in a game, such as which weapon is most effective against a specific opponent, where to look for certain inventory items, etc.
An "unlockable" is a piece of information that tells you what to expect if you reach a certain level of a game, such as what score or achievement you need to reach in order to unlock a certain costume, car, weapon, etc.
"FAQ" stands for "Frequently Asked Questions." So technically, a video game FAQ should answer specific questions about a game, but the definition has expanded to mean any text document that address a certain game, or in some cases, specific aspects of a game, to help people play them better. In this expanded sense, the terms "FAQ" and "Guide" can be used interchangably. They are authored by generous video game experts who want to share their knowledge with the rest of the world.
A "walkthrough" is a special kind of FAQ that is mostly useful for strategy-type games that involve a series of complex interactions to complete the game. A walkthrough essentially "walks you through" all the elements of a game to help you complete it.
We realize that most video game players like to print out codes and then take them to their video game console to use them. To make this easier for you, we've created a special print function on each of our game content pages. You can select "Print All" to print all the codes or hints listed on a page, or you can check the box next to the codes hints you're interested in, and then press "Print Selected."

First, make sure that the code is for the game you're playing. Some codes are designed to work only for import or domestic versions of games, or you might be trying to use a code on a newer or older version of a game (Tekken 2 vs. Tekken3, for example).
Codes must be entered exactly as listed, or they will not work. If you are certain that you are entering a code correctly, and it still doesn't work, please report the code as broken by clicking the broken code link where the code is listed on our site.
We have chosen only to support the latest and most popular game systems, which means that we leave out some of the older systems. We agree that they are still lots of fun to play, but we have decided to concentrate only on the systems we currently list.
We are currently developing our GameShark codes database and will release it in the near future.
