Left Shoulder Buttons: More commonly referred to as L1 and L2, these two buttons are usually pressed with your left index finger and left middle finger. L1 and L2 have an imprinted 1 and 2 on them, respectively.
Right Shoulder Buttons: More commonly referred to as R1 and R2, these two buttons are usually pressed with your right index finger and right middle finger. R1 and R2 have an imprinted 1 and 2 on them, respectively.
Directional Pad: Also known as the D-Pad, this pad can be pushed up, down, left, and right. When a cheat says to press "up" without being specific as to which part of the controller to use, it's usually this one.
Select Button: Can be used either before or during the input of cheats.
Square, Triangle, X, and O Buttons: Popular buttons used in many cheats.
Start Button: Can be used either before or during the input of cheats.
Left Thumbstick: Also known as the Left Analog, this stick can be pushed either up, down, left, right, or pressed as a button.
Right Thumbstick: Also known as the Right Analog, this stick can be pushed either up, down, left, right, or pressed as a button.
