Got your Wii or PS3?
The two most recent video game console systems were launched four months ago now, and chances are that those of you who looking for a Sony PlayStation 3 have been able to find them. I see piles of them available at local stores. What I don't see, however, is piles of Nintendo Wiis. They are slightly easier to find than they used to be, but still a much more rare entity than a PS3. Does this mean that Nintendo has won this round? Maybe... but this fight looks like it's going to be far from a first round knockout. Sony and Nintendo are both video game industry heavyweights, with lots of proven stamina. Nintendo had the advantage of better release titles, with the smash hits Zelda: Twilight Princess, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, and the uber-popular Wii Sports. Sony is just getting warmed up with their showcase titles, and while Call of Duty 3 may be a killer game on the PS3, you can get that title on both the Xbox 360 and the Wii, so it still remains to be seen what game Sony can deliver that makes buying the console worth it just to play that game (like Halo was for Xbox). Round one may have gone to Nintendo, but Sony still looks plenty ready to rumble.
