VS Mode
At the title screen, hold L1 + R2, then press Right + Square to unlock VS mode.

All Skills In VS Mode
Pause the game in VS mode, then hold R1 and press Left(2), Right(2), L1(2), L2 (2), L1, Right, Left. All skills of the equipped sword will now be available.

Change Characters (Japanese Version)
Highlight the name entry prompt for the main player at the character selection screen, then press L1, R1, L2, R2, L2, R1, L1, Left(4), R2 + Square. Press Left or Right to choose a character.

Increase Sword Hardness (Japanese Version)
Pause the game, then hold R1 + R2 and press Right (7), Left, Down, Up, Square. The main player's currently equipped sword will increase in hardness by one. Repeat as needed to reach the maximum hardness of five. Note: This cannot be done in versus mode.

Restore Health
Pause the game, then hold L1 + L2 and press Down, Up, Down, Up, Right, Left, Circle. For the Japanese version of the game, pause the game, then hold L1 + L2 and press Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Square. Note: This cannot be done in versus mode.

Light Up Your Surroundings (US VERSION)
Hold down L1+L2 and rotate the left anolog stick around and around. Your Samurai's eyes will flash and light the surroundings up.

Increase Sword Hardness (US VERSION)
Hold down R1 and R2. Then push on the directional pad: right, right, left, left, down, up circle. The endurance of your equipped sword should be increased by one.

Versus Mode
At the title screen, hold L1 + R1 and press Square + Circle. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. Alternatively, kill the sword smith to unlock versus mode. For the Japanese version of the game, hold L1 + R2 and press Right + Square at the title screen.

Pause the game in versus mode, then hold R1 and press R2(2), L1(2), L2(2). Release R1, then press R2. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. For the Japanese version of the game, hold R1 and press Left(2), Right(2), L1(2), L2(2), L1, Right, Left.
