A Good Start

The best beginning that you could get is by taking over Australia first. Doing so you have the continent with the best defense and a extra two soldiers than any other player. So this is the best battle strategy for the beginning.

Extra Troops

When cashing in cards (optionally, not being made to do it) pick the cards you want and back out to the menu. Select to cash in your cards again, make sure you pick the same three cards. Do this as many times as you want. It will not show up as doing anything until you back out of the menu to the game. Each time you cash your cards in by doing this it adds more troops as if you were cashing them in normally but all on one turn.

Uniforms

To unlock secret character's uniforms, defeat them to win a game.

Unlocking Characters

To unlock Secret characters, beat the game by killing someone that had contact with that secret character in real history. For Example, Catherine the Great fought Napoleon, so to unlock Napoleon, beat Catherine the Great to win a game. Simon Bolivar kicked Ferdinand out of South America. So beat Ferdinand to win a game unlocks Simon Bolivar.
