Easy Essence
If you can't find an essence, try talking to the sim who asked for it.

Relationships
Every morning go to Hotel and talk to all the guests. That way they will show up in your Relationships book and you will be able to invite them to move to town when you want. In fact once you make the invite, you will get a message saying that so and so is now at the hotel!

Circles
If you hold the C button on the nunchuck, and run down, your sim will be running in circles.

Lots Of Essence
If you want a lot of essence go to a citizen's house and become best friends with them. Then say "Give Stuff" and then click on the furniture (that's theirs) and hit B. The item will now belong to you! (Warning: If you want to actually stay Best Friends with the person don't do this they get mad at you)

Saving Time
If your doing something like watering or growing a plant, after two or so seconds just walk away and the action will be done

Get More Secret Essences
There are some more "secret" essences. One is if you kneed the dough in the pizza place, gingerbread men might pop out. And if you use the pizza oven you could get bacon.

Secret Essences
If you use the sink enough, every so often, you will get blasted by water! (not that you used it too much) You will also get some Octopus Essences. Build a TV and watch it. Sometimes you will get some Robot Essences. Build a refrigerator. If you eat out of it, you will sometimes get some Red Apple Essences, and if you drink out of it, you will sometimes get some Green Apple Essences. Lastly, (for now) build an Arcade Game and play it. If you defeat the "Evil Eye" you will get some Video Game Essences. You won't always defeat the Evil Eye, so keep trying until you do.

What's The WOOD?
Chop or melt down the flowing trees to get an essence. 1. Dead Wood ~ Alive - Thorn, eyeball, ghost, black rose, black apple, jack-o-lantern. And all dead trees. 2. Light Wood ~ Alive - Red apple, green apple, lemon, orange, lime, cherry blossom, hearts, spades, clubs, diamonds. 3. Dark Wood ~ Yellow Blossom, rose, plum, sun flower, rook, knight, pawn. 4. Metal ~ Alive - Gears, robot, springs.
