Choose your prefered class wisely, and to the style of which you wish to play. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.1.1] Scoundrel | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: A skillful rogue that gets by on stealth and guile. The Scoundrel is a good class for those who don't want to enter into a lot of combat. As the Scoundrel, you will be able to sneak by enemies, silently kill some of them, and get around by scrounging whatever items you can find. This class is a balance of the Scout and Soldier. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.1.2] Scout | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: An explorer most at home on the fringes of space. The Scout is a good class for exploring. The Scout has a bit faster starting stats, and chooses not to fight. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.1.3] Soldier | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: A battle-ready fighter with no equal in combat. The Soldier, the bread and butter of any RPG. As the Soldier, you will have access to all the powerful weapons, armor and items. As a Soldier, your feats are more important than Force Powers, and as such, your Power Points will not climb as high as the other classes. STARTING FEATS: Armor Proficiency: Light Armor Proficiency: Medium Armor Proficiency: Heavy Power Attack -> Power Blast Weapon Proficiency: Blaster Pistol Weapon Proficiency: Blaster Rifle Weapon Proficiency: Heavy Weapons Weapon Proficiency: Melee Weapons =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.2] Sex | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ While you may not think it, your choice of gender has a fairly big impact on the game. Certain people may be more willing to talk to a female, but a male may be able to threaten people more successfully. Dialogue is also different, as more people seem to hit on the females, while people talk more meanly toward males. =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.3] Portrait | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ This is a cosmetic choice only. Pick one you like, since you'll be staring at it for the entire duration of the game. =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.4] Attributes | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: The attributes of your character apply bonuses or penalities to everything from combat to skill checks to Force powers. Check each attribute to see which assets of game play it can affect. Basically, you should choose what you want to focus on. If you are a soldier who wants to focus on two-handed fighting, be sure to invest points into two-hand proficiency. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.4.1] Strength | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: Strength measures physical power. A high Strength adds modifiers to melee damage and chance to hit, which is important for characters that use close-combat weapons (vibroblades, lightsabers). If you plan on being a melee fighter, put a fair amount of points into this. Melee weapons includes fighting bare handed, lightsabers, vibroblades, swords, knives, and anything that requires you to be right next to your opponent. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.4.2] Dexterity | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: Dexterity measures agility and reflexes. A high Dexterity adds modifiers to ranged attack rolls (blasters, grenades) and increases a character's Defense rating, making them harder to hit. You should put some good points into Dexterity, since it increases your chances of successfully hitting a target, and makes you harder to hit, which will come in very handy. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.4.3] Constitution | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: Constitution represents health and resiliency. A high Constitution adds modifiers to the vitality points gained at each level-up. This is important for everyone, but essential for soldiers and Jedi guardians. Vitality = health. The more health you have, the longer you can fight before going down. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.4.4] Intelligence | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: Intelligence represents knowledge and reasoning. A high Intelligence adds modifiers to the number of points a character has to spend on essential skills. The higher your Intelligence, the lower the points you have to spend. With a high Intelligence level, you may be able to upgrade a skill that requires three points for just one point. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.4.5] Wisdom | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: Wisdom represents willpower and perception. A high Wisdom adds modifiers to Jedi Force Points and Force Power saving throws. The Force Powers of a Jedi with high Wisdom are also much harder to resist. With high Wisdom, your Force Powers have a better chance of hitting and a less chance of being blocked, while Force Powers used against you will have a better chance of not connecting. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.4.6] Charisma | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: Charisma represents personality and the ability to lead. A high Charisma adds modifiers to Force-related feats and powers that are very important to all the Jedi classes. It is also central to any persuasive talker. The higher your Charisma, the better your chances of pursuading someone to see things your way or to give you things. =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5] Skills | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: Each of your character's skills has a number associated with it. This is the skill "rank" and determines how good the character is with that skill. When using a skill to perform an action, the rank is compared against a Difficulty Check (DC) number. For example, to open a lock with a DC of 15, take your skill rank in Security + Wisdom modifier to +d20 roll. If the total is 15 or greater, the lock is opened. Do you want your character to be a skilled hacker? Put points into Computer Use. Do you want to be able to recover mines? Demolitions is your answer. Do you want to sneak around? Go for Stealth. Do you want to pick locks and steal any goodies? Choose Security. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5.1] Computer Use | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Related Attribute: Intelligence Computer Use allows a character to slice computer programs using disposable lobic rams called computer spikes. A character might disable gun turrets or flood a patrol area, with more complicated tasks requiring more spikes. A high rank in this skill reduces the number of spikes required by 1 (to a minimum of 1) for every 4 points total, including attribute score modifiers. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5.2] Demolitions | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5.3] Stealth | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5.4] Awareness | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5.5] Pursuade | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5.6] Repair | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5.7] Security | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.5.8] Treat Injury | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.6] Feats | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Description: Some feats allow you to use special items like heavy armor or implants. Other feats modify saving throws and skill checks during the game. And some feats (POWER ATTACK) are used during combat. Check the description for details on a specific feat. =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [6.7] Name | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ What do you want to be called throughout the game? For this walkthrough, I chose the name Ferc Degana. It was one of the pre-selected ones. =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [7] XP Points and Level-Up | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [7.1] XP Points Requirement Chart | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [8] Party Members | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [9] Force Powers | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [9.1] Dark Powers | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [9.2] Light Powers | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [9.3] Universal Powers | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ** Coming Soon ** =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [10] Walkthrough Introduction | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ For this walkthrough, I choose a MALE SOLDIER. He will be going down the path of the DARK SIDE, therefore his answers and actions will be EVIL and NASTY. As a result, some dialogue will be directed toward the soldier class and may differ in your game. For best results, use the same character so you can follow the walkthrough exactly. If you are looking to go down the Light path, please look elsewhere. I threaten, kill and steal in this game, and those are definitely not qualities of the light side. Whenever you encounter text wrapped in *******, it means it is dialogue. You will find your possible answers. The next box in ******* will show the answer I selected, as well as the character's response. Text that is NOT wrapped in anything is your walkthrough. Whenever you encounter text that is wrapped @@@@@@@@@, it means it is entries from your journal. This is usually found in the section of the walkthrough at the same time as it updates in the game. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [10.1] Area 1: Endar Spire | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ The game opens. That's pretty rare in a new recruit, but it * * should come in handy while we're stranded on a foreign world. * * * * Carth: There's no way the Republic will be able to get anyone through the * * Sith blockade to help us. If we're going to find Bastila and get off this * * planet, we can't rely on anybody but ourselves. * * * * CHOICES * * Why is it so important to find Bastila * * Bastila? She's the one from the Endar Spire, right? * * * ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* * * * ANSWER: Why is it so important to find Bastila? * * * * Carth: That smack to your head did more damage than I thought. Bastila's a * * Jedi. She was with the strike team that killed Darth Revan, Malak's Sith * * master. * * * * Carth: Bastila is the key to the whole Republic war effort. The Sith must * * have found out she was on the Endar Spire and set an ambush for us in this * * system. * * * * Carth: I believe Bastila was on one of the escape pods that crashed down * * here on Taris. For the sake of the Republic war effort, we have to try and * * find her. * * * * CHOICES * * How can one person, even a Jedi, be so important? * * If Bastila's a Jedi, she can probably look after herself. * * How do you even know Bastila's still alive? * * Forget it! I'm not risking my life to try and save her! * * Any idea where we should start looking for Bastila? * * * ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* * * * ANSWER: Forget it! I'm not risking my life to try and save her! * * * * Carth: I don't think you understand the situation. We can't hide on this * * planet forever. Eventually the Sith will find us... and, trust me, you * * don't want that. * * * * Carth: Getting off this world isn't going to be easy... we'll probably need * * Bastila's help. Not to mention that without her, the whole Republic war * * effort is doomed. * * * * CHOICES * * How can one person, even a Jedi, be so important? * * If Bastila's a Jedi, she can probably look after herself. * * How do you even know Bastila's still alive? * * So what do you suggest we do next? * * * ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* * * * ANSWER: So what do you suggest we do next? * * * * Carth: Bastila's going to need our help. Many of Darth Malak's followers * * can use the dark side of the Force, and the Sith have already killed more * * than their share of Jedi in this war. * * * * Carth: Nobody will be looking for a couple of common soldiers like us. And * * if we're careful we can move about the planet without attracting notice; a * * luxury Bastila won't have. * * * * Carth: She's going to have half the Sith fleet looking for her. They know * * how important she is to the war effort. * * * * Carth: The whole planet is under quarantine. No ships can land or take-off.* * So if Bastila's going to escape Taris, she's going to need our help. And * * we'll probably need hers. * * * * CHOICES * * Any idea where we should start looking for Bastila? * * What's in this for me if I help you out? * * I think I'll take my chances on my own. * * If it means getting off this planet, I guess I can help you out. * * * ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* * * * ANSWER: I think I'll take my chances on my own. * * * * Carth: Don't be a fool! You're not getting off this world without help, and* * you can't hid here forever. Do you have any idea what will happen when the * * Sith find you? * * * * CHOICES * * Okay, you made your point. I'll help you out. * * If you want my help, you better make it worth my while. * * * ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* * * * ANSWER: If you want my help, you better make it worth my while. * * * * Carth: Oh, I get it. Never mind that the Sith will destroy the Republic and* * ravage the galaxy. You're only in this for the credits. * * * * Carth: Don't worry. The Republic pays its mercenaries well. You help me * * find Bastila and the'll make it more than worth your while, I'm sure. Plus,* * it might be your only chance to get off Taris. * * * * CHOICES * * Okay, you made your point. I'll help you out. * * * ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* * * * ANSWER: Okay, you made your point. I'll help you out. * * * * Carth: Good. We need to work together if we're going to survive. * * * * Carth: While you were out I did some scouting around. Ther are reports of a* * couple escape pods crashing down into the Undercity. That's probably a good* * place to start. * * * * Carth: But the Undercity is a dangerous place. We don't want to go in there* * unprepared. It won't do Bastila any good if we go and get ourselves killed.* * * * CHOICES * * I want to ask you some questions. * * The sooner we start looking for Bastila the sooner we find her. Let's go. * * Come on. I want to scout this planet a bit. * * * ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* * * * ANSWER: Come on. I want to scout this planet a bit. * * * * Carth: Good idea. We can use this abandoned apartment as a base, and we * * can probably get some equipment and supplies in the Upper City. Just * * remember to keep a low profile. * * * * Carth: I've heard some grim stories about the Dark Jedi interrogation * * techniques. They say the Force can do terrible things to a mind. It can * * wipe away your memories and destroy your very identity! * * * * Carth: But I figure if we don't do anything stupid we should be okay. I * * mean, after all, they're... they're looking for Bastila, not a couple of * * grunts like us. Alright, soldier, let's move out. * * * ******************************************************************************* Receive 350 XP points. **** STAY TUNED **** =============================================================================== /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | [11] Questions & Answers | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Have a question you need answered?
