Written by: Wolf and Fox Table of Contents I. Walkthrough II. Chocobo Raising Guide III. Getting the Final Weapons IV. Defeating the Weapons V. Hidden Materia VI. Credits, Special Thanks and Legal Stuff =============================================================================================== I. Walkthrough =============================================================================================== Items will be listed in blue and monsters will be red. Materia is in green. People will be colored gray. Party members will be colored teal. Towns are listed in purple. Key items are listed in olive. Note: Do not fill every character up with materia. Materia weakens you by many stat points and HP. Use strategy when deciding what you are going to equip. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Midgar City - Destroying the First Reactor ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As soon as you gain control of Cloud check the soldier's body for two potions. Run forward and you will get into a battle. Kill the two MPs. Go through the door on the left at the end of the sidewalk. You will talk to Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge. They'll ask for your name (we are gonna call you Cloud.) Barret (who we will call Barret) will talk to you. In the next area, you will see Biggs. Follow him. Avoid random battles. Follow Jessie, Biggs, and Barret. Talk to Barret. He will join your team. Talk to Biggs. Then talk to Jessie. Go to the right and check the chest for a phoenix down. Now talk to Jessie. Push the button with your square hand. Listen to Barret talk about the dying planet. Follow Jessie down the stairs. Enter the room. Jump over the hole and talk to Jessie. Jump onto the ladder. Take the potion that is on the ground. Now go down the ladder on the right. Make your way to the next ladder and climb down. Save often (check the rules of RPGs on our website!). Now go to the right. Take the Restore materia. Check the reactor. You will enter a boss fight. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Boss Fight - Guard Scorpion ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guard Scorpion HP: 800 The Guard Scorpion is very easy. The bolt magic is effective. This is true for any mechanical monster. When it uses Search Scope, it'll show you which character it will attack next. Use this to your advantage (heal the character if he gets low in health.). Don't attack it when its tail is up. Just wait until it lowers its tail. Equip the Assault Gun that you will receive to Barret. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Midgar City - Escaping Reactor 1 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You will have ten minutes to escape the reactor. The time will run even in battles so hope you don't get extremely unlucky and run into a battle every step. Talk to Jessie on your way out. Make your way back to Wedge (the chubby guy). When you gain control of Cloud again follow Barret. After talking to the flower girl, go down. Go down and pick up the potion on the left. Go down. Some MPs will call out to you. You don't have to fight them, but you can gain some extra experience and money this way. You will jump onto the train. Inside, Barret and the rest of the group will be talking. You will open the door and do a fancy flip into the cart. Everyone will jump into the next cart. Jessie will play with your face and jump into the next cart. Follow her. Talk to Jessie in the next cart. She'll talk about Midgar. After the red lights move forward some and Barret will speak with you. A cut-scene will fade-in and you will arrive at the train station. Everyone on the train will get off and talk away. Talk to Barret. Now follow everybody. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Midgar City - Destroying Reactor 5 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you need to save, go to the next screen and go up. Now go to the left. Talk to Barret. Go inside and you will see Tifa (who will we call Tifa.) Try to exit the bar and Barret will run in. Go to the pinball machine. Check it. Talk to Barret. He'll throw Biggs into the camera. Now check the pinball machine again. Try to leave and Tifa will come up and talk to you. Eventually Barret will come out and give you 1500 gil. You'll rest and get fully healed. Go to the first floor and talk to Barret. (Learn how to use materia if you need to.) Tifa and Barret will join your party. Equip Tifa with the Restore materia. Go to the weapon shop which is the large building in the bottom right corner. Speak with the lady at the counter. Buy three Iron Bangles and equip them to each character. Sell your old equipment for extra money if you want to. A save point will hop away. Take the All materia that is on the ground. Talk to the guy and a big chest will appear. Open it for an Ether. Talk to the posing guys to learn how to fight if you need to. The children will show you how to use your limit breaks. Speak with the little girl to learn about save points. The dog will show you how to use buttons. Go upstairs and into the room at the top of the tower to rest in the bed. You don't have to. Go back to the ground floor and go outside. Go to the building next to the weapon shop and buy any materia or items that you need. Now follow the group in the top right corner. Go back to the train and go inside. Barret will yell at the guy on the train and point his gun arm at him. Tifa will stop him. The train will begin to move. Talk to Tifa. Something will happen at the ID Checkpoint. Go into the next cart. You will have only a limited amount of time to get into the next cart. Run through to the next. Don't let the guy steal your gil and then run into the next cart. If the guy steals from you, run after him and say "That's right." Talk to Tifa. Now run forward into the tunnel. Run until you get to a green field. Check the vent and select "Go down." Take the ether. Now go down the ladder. Go down the next ladder. Climb up the ladder on the left and go through the vent. Take the potion in the corner to the left of the vent. Go down the ladder on the left. Take the tent. Save if you want to. Go up the ladder on the left and you will be in the reactor. Go down the slide. Make gleeful noises while you are doing so. Do the same thing you did in the first reactor. Save limit breaks for boss fights if possible. Magic is an option when saving limit breaks. Set the bomb in the same place you set it in the first reactor. Head up the stairs on the way out. After leaving the elevator, open the chest to receive an ether. go to the room on the left and you will have to hit the three buttons at the same time. Hit the action button after three seconds. Now go through the door you opened. It would be wise to save because there is a boss in the next room. From now on, it will be up to you to save when neccessary. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Boss Fight - Air Buster ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Air Buster HP: 1500 Unleash your limit breaks if you have any. Then use bolt magic to deal high damage to him. If all of your characters have full limit gauges, he should die instantly. Equip the Titan Bangle to Cloud. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Midgar City - Aeris' bodyguard. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You'll wake up in a church with a girl in it. You will talk to her for a moment and she will start fixing the flowers. Talk to her. She will tell you her name (and Wolf called her Aeris, and it was so.). Reno will walk in. Talk to Aeris. After Reno talks to you, go up. Jump the gap and run up the stairs. Reno and some MPs will chase after you. Jump the other gap. Aeris will fall down to the bottom. You can make Aeris fight for experience if you want to, but it'll lessen your chances for a date at the Gold Saucer later in the game. See the Gold Saucer section for details. If you want to help Aeris, tell her to "Hold on a minute." Then go up to the attic. There are four barrels here. Hit the one by the ladder when you enter. Then hit the the top left corner to knock the second one down. Hit the top right corner to knock the third one down. Aeris will be with you now. Go upstairs and to the gap in the ceiling. Go through it. You and Aeris will be on top of the church. Jump from rooftop to rooftop until Aeris asks you to wait for her. Continue moving to the left and you will come to another area. Aeris is a magic-user so it it best to have her in the back. Equip her with some restore materia also. Now go to the left past the save point and to the next area. Go up as soon as you can and enter the town. The first door to the right is a materia shop. The one next to it is an item shop. The building on the right is a house with some guy in it. Go upstairs and there is a boy who mentions something in the room. Now check the top drawer and the bottom drawer. Then check the hidden drawer. There is 5 gil in the drawer. However, if you don't take the gil, later on in the game you will get a really good item. The trailer at the top of the screen is an armor shop. Buy enough Titan Bangles for 3 characters. Equip Aeris with one. Now exit the trailer and go to the right. You will come to Aeris' house. There is some Cover materia and an ether in the garden. Aeris will talk with her mom. Talk to Aeris' mom. Then go upstairs and Aeris will speak with you. The screen will fade-out and go to a scene. Once you gain control of Cloud check the bag for a potion and a phoenix down. When you exit your room, walk slowly and away from Aeris' room and head downstairs. You can run then. Go to the left. Go to the other side of town and go left. Go left again and Aeris will be waiting for you. Make your way to the top of the map. Go up and you will come to a playground. Follow Aeris and talk to her again. You will climb up the slide and sit by her. A door will open behind you and a chocobo pulling a cart will come by. Aeris will get up and follow after it. Follow her. You will come to Wall Market. Talk to her here. Go right to the Honey Bee Inn. Talk to the fat guy in the red vest and select choice 1. Go left and go up two screens to a house in the back of the map. Talk the guy at the door. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Midgar City - Cloud's Crossdressing Adventure! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go down two screens and enter the room with the picture of a heart on it. Talk to the guy laying down. You have to help this guy. Stay at the inn. In the middle of the night you will have a choice. Select the one for 200 gil. Now go back to him and give him the item. He'll give you the Diamond Tiara. Go to the diner and sit at the empty seat. Pick a food item. You will get Pharmacy Coupon. Now go to the Pharmacy and select the digestive. Now go to the pub one screen up and talk to the person in the bathroom. She'll take it and will give you the sexy cologne. Leave the pub. Go down one screen and enter the building directly to the left. Talk to the lady at the counter. Now go up one screen and into the pub. Talk to the old man at the counter. Make a dress that feels soft and shimmers. Leave the pub and go to the dress shop. Speak with the old man to get the silk dress. Go to the gym and speak with the girl. You'll have to do more squats then the guy so press square, x, and circle as fast as you can. Practice to get a steady rhythm and stick with it. After you beat him you will receive the blonde wig. Now go talk to the guy in the corner by the Honey Bee Inn (not in the screen at the Honey Bee Inn). Speak with the guy standing at the door and he'll let you in. Now select the Group room. This room is wrong, but you'll get some bikini briefs for doing it. Now go to the dress shop and get dressed. Now go two screens up and talk to the guy at the door. Go inside and upstairs. Go through the opened door and downstairs and you'll see Tifa. Talk to her. Don't forget to take the ether. Talk to Tifa. You'll be called to be tested for Don Corneo's bedchamber. Go upstairs and into the center room. The fat guy is Don Corneo. He will select Cloud. You will go to his bedchamber... Go up to his bed and speak with him. Answer yes to all of the questions. A short scene will happen. When you get to select between the three choices, choose any. They all lead to the same thing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Midgar City - In the Sewer ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Collect the potion on the left and talk to Aeris and Tifa. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9. Boss fight - Aps ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aps HP: 1800 An easy strategy. Just hit him with any limit breaks you have and then use magic to deal high damage to him. Heal whenever necessary. After a few rounds he should be dead. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10. Midgar City - Saving Sector 7 (Hahaha... saving.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go up the ladder and make your way towards the exit. Pick up the steal materia on your way out. Steal materia is very useful. Refer to our Bestiary for a list of items to steal. Go into the next room and go up the ladder. You will be at a train graveyard with a bunch of wrecked trains. Go inside the train and check the barrel for a hi-potion. Now climb onto the train and grab the hi-potion and follow the one way path to the other side of the map. Check the barrel to find an Echo Screen. No go inside the train on the right for a potion. Continue walking down in the train until you come out on the other side. Now climb the ladder on the right and go up until you get to the second ladder and climb down. Go inside this train and to the left and pick up the potion. Now go up. Continue moving up until you get to a train with a ladder on it. Climb up and get the hi-potion. Climb down the ladder and go inside the train with the open door. It'll push one of the trains out of the way. Now go around the train and go into the second train. Climb onto the ladder and hop onto the train and go to the left. Climb down this ladder and go left. Cotinue moving left and you will run up automatically. Aeris will leave your party. Go through the gate and head up the stairs. Run to the top of the tower. Talk to Barret. Equip everyone with a Titan Bangle. Prepare for battle. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11. Boss battle - Reno ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reno HP: 1000 Use any limit breaks you have. When Reno uses Pyramid on a character, attack that character to get rid of the pyramid, the character won't take damage. Ice magic is effective against Reno. You'll know when you've beaten him because he'll look at his watch and then run away. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12. Midgar City - Shinra Tower, Part 1. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talk to Tifa and check the console. The plate will begin to fall apart. Talk to Barret and you will jump off the ledge. You will be in the playground. Go down until Barret calls you. Go back up and grab the Sense materia. Now go up and to the left. Go up again and you'll be in Wall Market. Go up screen and find the weapon shop. Talk to the guy on the left and buy the batteries. Equip your characters with the best items in the shop. Now exit and find your way back to Aeris' house. It shouldn't be too hard since it's a straight line. Stop by the kid's house (the one with the drawers and gil) and he'll give you a turbo ether. Now go to Aeris' house. You'll find out about where Aeris came from. Go upstairs and talk to Barret. Go back downstairs and try to leave the house. Now return to Wall Market. Once you are in Wall Market, go up near Don Corneo's mansion and follow the kids. Talk to the little girl. Start climbing the wall. Use the batteries to progress. Before you swing across, go up and get the ether. Now go down and swing to the other side. At the top you will be at Shinra Tower. The only place seperating you from the outside world. Go towards it. You have a choice between busting in or sneaking in. By sneaking in, you will get more items. (Wolf chose this direction so it's the way we will follow.) Go to the left. Walk down that path and enter the door on the right. Walk all the way up the stairs. At the top of these stairs, you'll have to climb some more. Once you get to the stop of these stairs, you'll have more to climb. And again. And again... Collect the elixer here. Then go up to, oh! More stairs... Once you get to the top of those, you have some more climbing to do. And again... And again... However, you will reach the top this time. Go to the right and kill the Mighty Grunts. After you kill those, you will receive Keycard 60. Go to the right and you will be in an elevator. Go to floor 60. Run to the left and enter the door with the red light above it. Go to the right and hide behind the statue. Wait for the guards to let their guard down and use O to move. Don't let them see you or you have to fight them and will start over from the beginning. Go upstairs and exit through the door. Talk to the people until you get a choice between "Where's Aeris?" or "......." Pick the choice "......." and you will receive Keycard 62. Now go upstairs. Walk through the doorway. Enter each of the libraries and find the book that doesn't belong in each library. Then, on the book, match the number with the letters in the title of the file. So if a file starts with a 4, then check the fourth letter. Find all four letters and talk to the Mayor. Unscramble the password you got and tell him the answer, which is random. You will get Keycard 65 and Elemental materia. Now go to the 63rd floor. Exit the room and go down into the room with the computer. You can only open three doors so don't waste it. Go around to the top and open the door on the left (not the one below.) then move to the left by the two doors and go down. Now go into the room with the A coupon and enter the vent. Climb through to the first opening and go down and grab the B coupon. Now exit the room and open the door to the left and ground the C coupon. Now climb through the vents and go right. Drop down into the computer room and exchange the coupons for items. You will receive Star Pendant, Four Slots, and All materia. Now go to the 64th floor. On the 64th floor you will find a phoenix down in the locker room. You can also rest and save on this floor. When you are ready, go to the 65th floor. Exit the room and go to the left. Keep checking chests until one opens and you will receive Midgar Parts. Take these to the central room and place them before attempting to open another chest. Do this until you have placed all parts. Open the chest in the room with the stairs to get Keycard 66. Go to floor 66. Go to the bathroom and climb onto the stall. Climb forward and look into the grate. After everyone is done talking crawl back to the bathroom. Follow Hojo to floor 67. Follow him into the room. After he leaves and you gain control of Cloud go behind the boxes and find the Poison materia. Go up the elevator and you will see Aeris. She will be in trouble. Barret will cause the door to open and the cat-like creature will attack Hojo. You will have a choice to send either Tifa or Barret away. Red XIII, who will be henceforth be known as Nanaki, will join your party. Now it's time for a boss battle. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 13. Boss fight - H0512 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- H0512 HP: 1000 H0512-opt x3 HP: 300 Focus on destroying the boss with limit breaks and ice magic. Heal as often as you can since you will probably be taking quite a bit of damage unless you are well leveled. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14. Midgar City - Shinra Tower, Part 2. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You will have a chance to switch out party members now. I suggest having Barret and Nanaki stay on your party, but choose whoever you want. Pick up the Enemy Skill materia in the chamber behind you. There are only two of these in the game so it's best to pick it up and equip it now. Start learning those skills. Make your way to the second floor of this room and grab the two potions. Talk to the guy standing across the room and you will receive Keycard 68. Go back to the stairs and go up to the 67th floor again. Take the two potions and go to the 66th floor and go to the elevator. Rude will come in behind you. Tseng will also enter the elevator. You will be taken to the Shinra President and he will tell you his plan like all good evil villains should. You will be taken to a prison cell. Check the door to see what other characters are doing. See what everbody is doing. When you wake up, the door to your cell will be opened. Check the body to the left and talk to Tifa. Wake Barret and Nanaki up. Now talk to Tifa. Follow the trail of death and blood. Eventually you will find the President of Shinra dead with a sword in his back. Follow Palmer out to the helicopter. Remove Cloud and Tifa's materia when you have the chance to. Go to the elevator and you will enter a boss fight. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 15. Boss fight - Hundred Gunner and Heli Gunner ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hundred Gunner HP: 1600 This boss is weak against lightning. Limit Breaks if you have them, obviously. Recover when necessary. Have Barret use regular attacks while Nanaki and Aeris use magic. After you defeat it, another boss will appear. Heli Gunner HP: 1000 This boss is weak against lightning and wind. Same strategy as Hundred Gunner fight. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 16. Boss fight - Rufus ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rufus HP: 500 Dark Nation HP: 140 Heal yourself when necessary. You should get a limit break fairly quick in this battle so use it whenever you get a chance. Take out the Dark Nation before you attack Rufus. Just hit him with whatever you've got. He'll be down in no time. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17. Midgar City - Escape from Midgar ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go downstairs and talk to Tifa. When you take control of Aeris, head for the front door. You'll be stopped by a short talking scene. Tifa will come downstairs. Cloud will be shown on a motorcycle. It's up to him to protect Tifa and the others from attacking Shinra Soldiers. Use the directional pad to control the bike. Square and Circle are used to attack to the left and right. Prevent enemies from attacking the truck until the mini-game is over. Form your party before you start the mini-game because there is a boss fight at the end. I suggest Barret and Nanaki. The more damage the truck takes, the less life the team has in the upcoming battle. Beware because you can take damage too. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18. Boss fight - Motor Ball ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Motor Ball HP: 2600 This boss is weak against lightning. Any character with lightning should start using it unless he has a limit break. Be sure to heal whenever necessary. Some Restore materia connected to All materia is very useful in this fight. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19. Leaving Midgar ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After you defeat the boss you will be standing at the end of the highway. Everyone will agree to leave Midgar. You will all climb down a rope and will be on the other side of the walled city. Speak with everyone if you want to. Barret will suggest appointing a group leader and will nominate himself. However, Aeris says that she would like Cloud to be the group leader. You will now get to choose 3 of 5 characters to use in combat. Again, I suggest Barret and Nanaki. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20. World Map - Traveling to Kalm ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keep fighting until you fight a Custom Sweeper. Let it use Matra Magic so you can get the enemy skill (be sure to have Enemy Skill materia equipped to the one getting hit.). Now make your war to Kalm which is northeast of Midgar. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21. Kalm City - Cloud's Flashback ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you enter Kalm, your party will enter the Inn. Now found the weapon and materia shop and get your team fully equipped. Don't forget to buy Cloud's second weapon, the Mythril Saber. Once you are ready, go to the Inn and speak with the Innkeeper. Now go upstairs and move forward some. Everyone will complain about you being late. Cloud will tell his story. This will be the only time Sephiroth will ever be in your party. If you want to, you can check out the houses. It's not important, but you learn more about Cloud's past. Play the piano and you will be shown a tune. Remember this tune for later if you want to get Tifa's level 4 limit break, the Heaven Drive. She must have all of her other limit breaks learned for you to get it.(Do...Re...Mi...Ti...La...Do...Re...Mi...So...Fa...Do...Re...Do... is the tune you will have to play.) When you are ready to continue the storyline, go to the Inn and speak with Sephiroth. In the morning you, Sephiroth, and Tifa will have to travel to the Mako Reactor. Follow Tifa across the bridge. And it will snap causing all of you to fall. Enter the cave and walk to the right. Now follow the path and walk through the door you will see. After the small scene you will arrive at the reactor. You and Sephiroth will go inside. Follow him deeper into the reactor. Once you gain control of Cloud go upstairs and to the right. You will see an MP. Go to the right and up to the stone wall. Go through and head down the stairs. Make your way to the library on the right. Sephiroth will be reading. Leave the library. You will wake up on a bed. Go back to the library. He will be in the back of the library. Leave the mansion and talk to the Zangen. Then go into your house. You will come back out and appear at the reactor a few seconds later. Tifa is inside. Follow her into the next room. Now talk to Tifa. Now go upstairs into the Jenova room to see Sephiroth acting like a madman. The screen will white out and you will be back in Kalm inn. Talk to Tifa to receive the PHS. Exit the inn and walk into house above it. There will be an old man inside. Go upstairs and check the dresser to find an ether. In the house next to this one, there will be an ether in the closet on the first floor. You will find the Peacemaker at the top of the house next to the first house you entered, there is also a guard source on the second floor. Use any and all sources on Cloud. Go up the stairs and into the house next to the bar. Check the closet for an ether. Exit Kalm and travel east. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22. Chocobos, Caves, World Travel, and the Condor Tower. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go to the Chocobo Ranch near the swamp. Speak with the Chocobos and select the choice, Wark. You will get the Choco/Mog Summon materia and will be able to find another summon materia on the ground later in the game. Go inside and speak with the old man. Select "Yeah." You will need a chocobo to escape the Midgar Zolom so speak with Choco Bill's grandson. Select the choice "Give me one." He will tell you that you will have to catch one. Pay for the Chocobo Lure since you have to in order to see chocobos. Purchase some Gysahl Greens and exit the ranch. Run around in the chocobo tracks until you get intos a battle with one. Do not attack the chocobo! Give it a Gysahl Green and kill the other monsters. You'll know when you are in a battle with a chocobo because the battle music will be different. It might take a few tries, just be patient. Once you catch a chocobo, run across the marsh while avoiding the zolom. You will see another one that has been impaled on a tree by Sephiroth. Leave that area, dismount your chocobo, and enter the cave. When you run into an Ark Dragon let it use flame thrower on the character equipped with the Enemy Skill materia. Go to the right and you will find an ether on the ground. Move up a little further to get a tent. Climb up the vines to get the Long Range materia. We suggest you equip it to Cloud and put him in the back row. He'll do front row damage with back row defense. He can also hit enemies that are too far away for other characters to hit. Go to the left and you will eventually run into Rude and Elena. Tseng will come into the room also. Now go into the room to Cloud's right. It's got a blue background. Check the chest for an elixer. And grab the hi-potion on the ground. Now go to the door that Tseng came through and leave the caves. Optional Quest - If you don't want an extra party member then skip this quest. Travel to the large forest by the ocean and fight until you get into a battle with a ninja girl. Beat her and a small scene will come up. Do exactly as we say and she will join your party. You can encounter her instantly or end up fighting for quite awhile. It's good to fight anyways, you'll gain lots of experience and money this way. Bolt magic is effective against monsters in this area. When you beat her, ignore the save point and talk to her. Say "Not Interested." Talk to her again. Tell her you're "......petrified." Say "Wait a second." Then say "That's right." Tell her "......Let's hurry on." She'll join your party and tell you her name (let's just call her Yuffie.). Yuffie is a fairly good part member, I suggest switching Barret out for her. I suggest giving her the Steal materia. Make your way to the Fort Condor. You'll know you are at it when you see the large golden condor at the top of the tower. Go inside and talk to the guy. Say "We'll help you." Talk to the guy at the table and say "I guess so." Then say "Alright." Buy any necessary items. Optional Quest - The Battle at Fort Condor Climb to the top of the fort and speak with the guy looking through the window. Learn anything you need to know and then select contribute gil. Contribute enough to make the guy stop whining. Then say your ready. Everything you need to know will be explained. When you win you will receive an item. Now travel to Junon. You'll see it on your map. Go to the left and you will see a small beach. A young girl wil be there calling out to a dolphin. Suddenly, a monster will appear. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23. Boss Fight - Bottomswell ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bottomswell HP: 2500 This monster is weak against wind. Flame thrower is also an effective skill. Whenver he creates a bubble around a character, attack that character with magic to break the bubble. It will slowly drain a characters health so be as quick as possible. Recover whenever possible. It'll be dead within a few rounds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 24. Junon City - The Parade ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cloud will have to administer CPR to the little girl. Press square once to start the CPR gauge. Push it again to stop the gauge. Stop it at the top of the meter for the most air. Do this until she wakes up. If done properly, it should take no more then five tries to save her. Now go left one screen. Go to the house with the old lady standing outside of her door. She'll let you stay there for awhile. When you wake up, there will be a parade in Rufus' honor. Head outside and go up the stairs where your party is and Prescilla will come out and give you the Shiva Summon materia. Follow Prescilla back to the beach. She will call Mr. Dolphin. Now you have to find a spot where you can grab onto the metal bar above when the dolphin knocks you out of the water. Behind the bar in the middle area is where we got up. Now run to the left. You will see Cloud climbing onto the airstrip. Now go to the elevator platform and check the control box. Now go down. You'll be in a hallway. Go to the left and you will be in a locker room. Get a Shinra uniform and wear it. Follow the soldiers out to the main street. Talk to the soldier in red. This parade is being broadcast on live TV so make it look good. Join in the crowd and stay in line with the other soldiers. There are several different items you can get depending on how well you do. Time to learn the drill. When the red soldier yells out an order, you follow it with the other soldiers. Make it look good and you'll get a good item. Save beforehand if you want to get the best items. Now enter the first house with a light inside. This is a materia shop. Buy some Revive materia. It'll come in handy in the future. Now go into the next house. Speak with the lady at the counter for an item shop. In the next house you can find an Enemy Skill materia on the ground downstairs. Go upstairs for a 1/35 soldier and a Mind Source. In the next room you will find a Luck Source. Now continue going upstairs. You will find a Power Source and a Guard Source. Now exit the house and go left one screen. Go up through the tunnel. Go across the room (not to the left) and walk left. Now enter the second house on the right. You can rest and save here. Go upstairs and you will find another materia shop. This one sells attack materia. Go upstairs again and you will find an accessory shop. Now exit this house and go to the next one. You will find a speed source on the first floor. Go upstairs and you can get another 1/35 soldier. In the next house you can find a weapon shop. Now go into the tunnel. Now do everything the soldier in red says on time to get Rufus' mood up. He'll give you a good item if you do it perfectly. (Wolf got a score of 170 and received a Force Stealer, the best item you can get from Rufus. It's Cloud's third weapon so I suggest you get it.) You'll be on a boat to Costa Del Sol. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 25. The Ship Massacre ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Immediatly grab the chest for an ether. Now go up to the ship's deck. A sailor on the deck serves as an item shop. Speak to him and buy things you need now. Talk to the soldiers on the deck. After you talk to all of your party members, speak with Aeris and then go back to the deck. The guy who was standing next to the ladder will be gone so go to the left. Talk to the black version of Bluto who's look through the window. Go to the right one screen and walk into the middle of the deck. Your team will all come together. Select your party. I suggest Yuffie and Nanaki. Go downstairs and grab the All materia. Now go to the Engine room. Go up the ladder and grab the Wind Slash weapon which can be equipped to Yuffie. Make sure everybody in your party is fully equipped. Now go down the ladder and talk to the guy who is still alive. He'll die and Sephiroth will appear out of the ground. You will now fight Jenova-BIRTH. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26. Boss fight - Jenova-BIRTH ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jenova-BIRTH HP: 4000 Don't be discouraged just because she has 4000 HP. She can use several dangerous skills such as the Stop spell which freezes a character for a certain amount of rounds. She also does a W-laser that hits the a character for 40-180. Tail Laser will hit the whole party for 50-120. Use limit breaks as soon as possible. Heal whenever anyone gets weak. Regular attacks and Magic attacks are equally effective so stick with regular attacks so you will have more MP to heal with. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 27. From Costa Del Sol to the Golden Saucer ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't forget to pick up the Ifrit Summon materia while you are on the boat, it'll be your only chance. Now go down and to the right and exit the map. You'll see a helicopter land and Rufus will come out of the boat with Heidegger and get on it. Rufus will fly away and the screen will fade out. Go into the villa and go into the basement. Grab the fire ring from the chest and the power source in the bag, and the motor drive in the bag. There is a weapon shop in the bar. There is a materia shop under the umbrella to the right of town. You will see Hojo by the beach. Talk to him. Now travel in the straight line to Mt. Corel. Walk up the path and you'll come to another mako reactor. Go down the stairs towards the reactor. Once there, walk towards the camera. You'll be in Mt. Corel. Hop onto the train track and start running to the right. When you fall off the track, try to move as far to the right as possible. You'll receive a Star Pendant. The chest you find at the top of the track is a W Machine Gun. The second time you fall, move as far to the left as you can you'll get a Wizard Staff. Continue going right. Grab the Turbo Ether and Transform materia. Now take the the higher path and continue running down the train track until you get to a shack. Check the shack to let the bridge down. Then climb up the mountain and you can get ten phoenix downs after a battle. Now go back to the bridge that you let down and you can continue. Follow the straight path until you get to a fork in the path. Turn left to get to a small house that has a tent, a mind source, and a power source inside. Now go right and you should come up to a bridge where you are running towards the camera. Watch out for Bombs while you run across the bridge. On the other side of the bridge you will be in North Corel. Stock up if you need to and make your way to the Gold Saucer. Once you are at the Gold Saucer there are many mini-games you can play. First you will need a ticket. Ticket Prices are listed here. Tickets Price Lifetime 30,000 Regular 3,000 Go to the Wonder Square and speak with Cait Sith (who we will call, Cait Sith.). Go to the trailer in the bottom left corner and speak with Mr. Coates. Go to the house next to his trailer and Barret will run in. After a few seconds the rest of the team comes in and Barret will tell you about his past. Barret will now join your party so switch Yuffie out for him. Now go behind the large tower and you will see an area where the ground is separated by a huge crack. Go around to the top of the crack and go right from there. If Barret gets a limit break in battle, save it for the upcoming boss fight. Follow the path where you'll meet Dyne. He and Barret will talk for a moment and Dyne will challenge him to a fight. Be sure to have your Cure materia equipped beforehand. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 29. Boss fight - Dyne ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dyne HP: 1200 Use limit breaks whenever possible. Just keep pummeling him with normal attacks, healing when necessary. Watch out for the Molotov Cocktail, as it does about 100 to 150 damage. He should go down in a few rounds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 30. Escaping Corel Prison ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the battle, Dyne will give you a pendant and jump off the cliff. The screen will fade out and fade back in at Mr. Coates' office. Barret will give him the pendant. After a moment, Ester, the chocobo racing manager will walk in. On the elevator select "All right" to learn how to ride a chocobo. In the racer area you will see some summon materia on the ground. Take it, it's the Ramuh Summon materia. When the bell chimes, wait for the other racers to exit and then talk to Ester. Win the race. You'll be freed and will be given a buggy. Use it to escape the pit you are in and go across shallow water in the rivers. It will be south of the Gold Saucer. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 31. Cosmo Canyon ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make your way to the mountains and find the Cosmo Canyon. In the forest nearby, fight unitl you run into a Touch Me and learn the Frog Song enemy skill from it. Your buggy will break down by Cosmo Canyon. Talk to the guard and Nanaki will run off. Go up the stairs and speak with Nanaki. Now follow him. Go up the ladder to find him. After a short scene, get two party members to accompany you. I suggest Barret and Yuffie. Upgrade your equipment when you have the chance. Go back to Bugenhagen and talk to him. He'll show you a special chamber. After the cutscene, leave the observatory and go downstairs. Go to the campfire. Speak with everyone and then speak with Nanaki. Choose your party and follow Bugenhagen. Magic attacks are effective against monsters here. Go down the ladders and ropes until you reach the bottom. Go to the right and check inside each of the doorways for extra experience and to find the switch to open the door. Be sure to get the Death Sentence skill from the Gi Spector. Sneaky Step can also teach you the Death Sentence skill. Once you open the door, Bugenhagen will come through and say something to you. Go through the door he came from. Walk on the oil that is covering the ground because if you run you will slip and land in spikes which will damage your party. Go to the left on the oil and down to get the Added Effect materia. Having Poison and Added Effect is a good way to deal extra damage to enemies. Once you reach the stairs go down and get the Black M-phone. Then go through the hole next to the stairs to get to a chest with an ether in it. Go back up the stairs and continue on. At the top of the screen, Bugenhagen will come out and talk to you again. Keep moving. Go to the second path on the right and kill the Stinger. Take the left path and go down to get to the chest that contains a Fairy Ring. Make your way back to the fourth passageway. Get the X-potion and go back. Save the X-potion for the boss. Now take the third passageway and follow the path. Walk along the left wall to get a turbo ether. Now go through the center door. Walk up to the big face and it'll attack you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 32. Boss fight - Gi Nattak ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gi Nattak HP: 5500 Soul Fire HP: 1300 Immediately use the X-potion you have on Gi Nattak. He's weak against holy attacks, so it will kill him with one hit. Victoly! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 33. Nibelheim and Sephiroth's Reunion ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Nanaki out, picking the Gravity materia up on the way. Nanaki will stare up at his father. Cloud and his party will leave Bugenhagen and Nanaki alone for a moment. Max out your equipment if you haven't already. Leave town and Nanaki will follow after you. Put Nanaki into your party and get in the buggy. Nanaki will have the Seraph Comb. None of the slots are linked but it is 28 points stronger than the best weapon you can buy for him in the Cosmo Canyon. Continue on the path until you reach Nibelheim. Talk to the guy wearing a black cloak in the back of the inn to receive a luck source. In the building next to the inn, there's another black-cloaked man. Talk to him and he'll give you an elixir. Another cloaked man is in the kitchen of Tifa's house. Talk to him for a turbo ether. Upstairs, by Tifa's room is another one. He'll give you a Platinum Fist to equip Tifa with. In the next house, two cloaked children will be upstairs. They'll give you a luck source. Go up to the mansion and go inside. In the back, there's a Twin Viper and a Silver M-phone in the two chests. Upstairs and to the left, there's an Enemy Launcher for Barret in a chest in the greenhouse. Check the safe and input the combination: Right to 36, Left to 10, Right to 59, Right to 97. You only have 20 seconds, so do it quickly. If you succeed, the Odin Summon materia and a key to the basement will come out of the safe, as well as a boss. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 34. Boss fight - Lost Number ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lost Number HP: 7000 Start out with magic attacks until the purple side disappears and he's all red. Then finish him off by pummeling him with normal attacks. His attacks are stronger now, so heal when necessary. You'll get Cosmo Memory, Nanaki's level 4 limit break after the fight. (Personally, I think it's useless. His second level 3 limit break, Earth Rave, does more damage. ~Wolf) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 35. Nibelheim - Mt. Nibel ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Optional quest - Again, if you don't want an extra party member, skip this quest. Go into the room next the the secret door and take the Magic Source from the chest. Now go into the secret room and go down the stairs. Walk towards the camera. Now walk into the room with the coffin and a person will come out of it. Talk about Sephiroth with him. After Cloud finishes he will go back to sleep. Open his coffin and ask "Who are you?" He'll tell you his name (And lo, Wolf thought about a name as he fell asleep and one appeared in the clouds of his nightmarish dream. And that name was Vincent.) He will go back to sleep. Now leave the basement and he will stop you and join your party. Go to the library and you will see Sephiroth. After he talks to you he will throw Destruct materia at you and fly away. Leave the mansion and head for Mt. Nibel. Follow the path and go up at the fork. A Rune Blade for Cloud will be in the chest at the top. Continue on and go up at the next fork. A Plus Barrette for Nanaki, will be waiting for you at the top. Go back and cross the bridge. Once you are on the other side, go down the second pipe to get a Powersoul. Take the fourth pipe to get the All materia. Go back up and go through the door. Pass the reactor and follow the path until you get to a cave entrance. There is a Sniper CR in the chest. Go to the other side of the cave and exit through the other door. Pick up the Elemental materia next to the mako fountain. In the next room there will be an elixer. Trudge back to where you got the Powersoul and All materia and fight the Materia Keeper. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 36. Boss fight - Materia Keeper ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Materia Keeper HP: 8400 It can do an attack called Hell Combo which does around up too 800 damage.. It's regular attack can do around 90-120. Fire Magic heals the Materia Keeper. When it starts getting low on health it'll use the Trine skill which you can learn. He uses Cure2 often. Be sure to have lots of Phoenix Downs and at least one Revive materia. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 37. Rocket Town - Getting the Tiny Bronco ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pick up the Counter materia and go down. You will be on the other side of Mt. Nibel. Make your way to Rocket Town. Speak with the old man and look at the leaning rocket to get Yoshiyuki. In the house on the far right you will find a Power Source. The house next to that has a Drill Arm. Go into the backyard of that house. After you finish talking go back inside and exit through the front door of the house. Go to the leaning rocket. Go up to the top of the rocket and go inside. Talk to the Captain named Cid. (I'd call him Vulgarman but Cid will do.). Ask him if you can borrow the Tiny Bronco and go back to his house for a cutscene. When Palmer walks in, go outside. Shera will have you come with her. Go to the backyard and talk to Palmer. You will have to fight him. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 38. Boss fight - Palmer ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Palmer HP: 6000 Use regular attacks until a truck runs him over. Heal when necessary. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 39 - Yuffie and the Stolen Materia ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 39 - 42 are completely optional. You must have found Yuffie to do this quest. You will get onto the Tiny Bronco and start to fly away. Cid will chase after you and jump on only to have the tail get hit which causes the Tiny Bronco to fall into the sea. Cid will join your party now. I suggest having this team for the rest of the game: Cloud, Nanaki, and Cid. Get off the Tiny Bronco at the island. Yuffie will say she knows this area very well and Shinra Attack Squard will attack you. They are only a 'threat' if they put you to sleep. You will be unable to use materia since it's gone. Equip the Seraph's Feather for now. Avoid battles since Yuffie has stolen everyone's materia. Chase after her! Head for Wutai while avoiding battles. Once in Wutai you will see her run to the left. Speak with the Turks at the restauraunt. Now go to the item shop and check the chest. Some MP Absorb materia will be inside but Yuffie will steal it from you. Go to the house on the far right and check the screen. Yuffie will be behind it and will run away. Go back to the bar and check the moving pot. Punch it three times and you will catch her. Some Shinra Soldiers will go to the restauraunt and talk to the turks. Elena will leave. Follow Yuffie to get your materia back. Talk to Yuffie and hit the switch. It will trap your team. Flip the switch again to raise the cage and follow her upstairs. Go through the room on the right. Now go one screen left and hit the gong. A secret door will open. Enter it. Two ninjas will kidnap Yuffie and Elena. Don Corneo will be inside. Grab the Swift Bolt and Elixir and go upstairs. You will have to fight three Shinra Attack Squad. Go through the door and enter the last room on the right. Check the wall to enter a secret room. Get the Hairpin. Now exit the secret room and go to the left. Rest in the room on the right in the next area if you need to, then go through the door in that room to get a Magic Shuriken. Go down the hallway and you will exit the house on the right. Now go to to the Da-chao Statue. Talk to the turks and make your way up the statue. At the top go around to the left and speak with Rude. Go inside the room he entered and grab the Dragoon Lance. Leave that room and go down. You will see Corneo and you will enter into a battle with Rapps. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 40. Boss fight - Rapps ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rapps HP: 6000 Go into battle with full limit gauges and have the fury status ailment on your party. Have plenty of hi-potions and phoenix downs and use nothing but regular attacks and limit breaks. Beware of Rapps' Aero3 attack because it does 1500+ damage to one person. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 41. The Pagoda ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You will now have a choice but they all lead to the same thing. Yuffie and Elena will be turned upside down. Corneo will be knocked off of the statue to his death. The screen will fade out and you will be given all of your materia. Re-equip everybody. Go back into town and go back to the house with all the cats in it. Take the stairs and get the HP Absorb materia. Before you enter the Pagoda, go outside and get into a battle with some Razor Weed. Manipulate one and have it use Magic Hammer on a character with the Enemy Skill materia equipped so that you learn it. Then go to the beach and fight an Adamantaimai and manipulate it. Have it use Death Force on the character with the Enemy Skill materia to learn it. Now equip that materia to Yuffie for the upcoming fight. Now go to town and go to the screen on the left and enter the Pagoda. Challenge everybody on each floor with Yuffie. At the top of the Pagoda you will meet Godo, Yuffie's dad. Before you challenge Godo, it's a good idea to have these materia equipped: Long Range, Counter Attack, Chocobo Lure, Cover, Enemy Skill, Sense, and Restore. If you have trouble, equip Yuffie's armor with the Added Effect materia and Poison or Lightning materia. The White Cape is also good to have equipped. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 42. Boss fight - Godo ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Godo HP: 10000 Use your limit break if you have it and heal anytime you get below 500 HP. Then just attack normally until you can use your limit break again. You can get Trine from Godo if you don't already have it. Watch out, though, because Trine can do 900+ damage. If you use Magic Hammer you can drain all of his MP away so he won't be able to do anything but attack. For winning you will receive Yuffie's Level 4 Limit Break, All Creation. and the Leviathan Summon materia. Now go back to the Tiny Bronco. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 43. Gongaga ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Head to the large island at the top of the map. Go to Bone Village, the town that looks like a dinosaur skeleton. Talk to the guy digging and he'll tell you that you need the Keystone to get into the Temple of the Ancients. Head back to the Gold Saucer. On the way there, stop at a place that looks like a pile of jagged rocks surrounded by dirt. There, you'll meet the Turks and they'll challenge you to a fight. Just take out Reno and Rude will follow him once he's defeated. Head to the left and go left again at the next screen to get the Deathblow materia. After picking it up, go right and you'll arrive at Gongaga. Go to the house at the top of the screen and you'll find a White M-phone in the chest. In the house next to it, there's an X-Potion in a chest. Leave and go back to the first fork and head right to the ruined reactor. Once there, Scarlet and Tseng will land in a helicopter and you'll hide while they talk about "huge materia" and "the perfect weapon." When they leave, check where Scarlet was looking and "Reach for it" to get the Titan Summon materia. Now leave and continue to the Gold Saucer. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 44. The Keystone ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the Gold Saucer, go to the Battle Square and go to Dio's Show Room to the right. The light blue stone on the pedestal is the Keystone. Check it and Dio will come in. He'll tell you that he'll give you the Keystone if you entertain him. Select "What'd you want me to do?" and he'll send you to the Battle Arena. Just fight as long as you can and he'll hand it over afterward. Head for the exit and someone will tell you that the Tram is out of order. The screen will fade out and back in at the hotel. Everyone will go to bed and the screen will fade out and back in at your room, where the date sequence will start. Depending on the choices you made throughout the game, Aeris, Tifa, Yuffie, or Barret (So I've heard...) will come in. You'll automatically go to the Event Square and be selected to star in the play. After the play, you'll go to the Round Square. Push left on the directional pad to look out the window when your date speaks and you'll see some cool FMVs of the Gold Saucer. After the ride ends, you'll see Cait Sith with the Keystone. Follow him around the park and at the Chocobo Square, Tseng will fly in on a helicopter and Cait Sith will give him the Keystone. After he leaves, Cait Sith will explain to you that he's a Shinra spy. (Durr.) You'll go back to your room. Open the cabinet to get an Elixer. Downstairs, Barret will say that the Temple of the Ancients is "east towards the sea." Aeris will join your party automatically, so choose one other to go with you. I suggest Nanaki or Cid. You'll now be able to leave the Gold Saucer. Go back to the Tiny Bronco and head east to the small island under the first continent. Once there, head for the pyramid looking place. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 45. The Temple of the Ancients ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside, you'll find a wounded Tseng. He'll tell you that Sephiroth is not searching for the Promised Land and give you the Keystone. Check the altar and you'll enter the Temple. Make your way through, picking up the Trident, Turbo Ether, Rocket Punch, Mind Source, Silver Rifle and Luck Plus materia on the way. In the room with the rolling stones, time it so you pass under the gaps in the stones so you don't get sent back to the start. Pick up the Morph materia in the middle and continue. After the cut-scene, continue on. In the clock room, move the hands to get to the other rooms. Don't let the second hand knock you off and don't go in the VI room until you do the others first or you won't be able to get to the other rooms. There's a Megalixer in the VIII room, a Trumpet Shell in the VII room, a Princess Guard in the IV room, and a Ribbon in the V room. The rest either have enemies or are dead ends. In the VI room, chase down the little blue guy until you catch him. At the bottom of the room, there's a chest with a Work Glove in it. Go up to the door when it unlocks and you'll be in the room where Sephiroth attacked Tseng. . After the cut-scene, you'll fight the Red Dragon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 46. Boss fight - Red Dragon ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Red Dragon HP: 6800 A fairly easy battle. Normal attacks will work fine here. His Red Dragon breath does 700+ damage, so keep an eye on your HP. Be especially careful of his normal bititing attack. It can do anywhere from 500 to 1000+ damage. Be sure to pick up the Bahamut Summon materia afterwards. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go to the right to the altar and check it. You'll learn that the Temple itself is actually the Black Materia. While you try to figure out how to take it, Cait Sith will call you and tell you he can solve the puzzles and let his toy body be crushed. Select "I guess we have no choice" and head out when you gain control of Cloud. Go up to the XII room and you'll fight the Demon's Gate. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 47. Boss fight - Demon's Gate ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Demon's Gate HP: 10,000 Slightly harder than the Red Dragon, but still easy. Magic attacks are not very effective here. Just wail on him with normal attacks. Watch out for his Demon Rush. It can do 500 to 1000+ damage to your entire party. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 48. Black Materia ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the battle, Cait Sith will enter and bid you farewell, going off to his doom, so to speak. Outside, the Temple will shrink and become the Black Materia. You'll jump down to get it, but Sephiroth will appear and take control of Cloud, forcing him to hand it over. After he flies away, Cloud will flip out and smack Aeris around. Cait Sith 2, who we'll just refer to as Cait Sith, will appear, and the party member you brought with you will knock Cloud unconscious. You'll wake up in Gongaga. Leave and go to the Tiny Bronco, then head back to Bone Village. Talk to the guy sitting in a chair and have his crew look for the Lunar Harp. Go to the top of the screen and place a few of them around there and ignite the bomb. Dig in the area they're looking at. It shouldn't take more than one or two tries to find it. Once you get it, go back to the top and enter the Sleeping Forest. Find the little red speck floating around and chase it down to get the Kjata Summon materia. In the next screen, pick up the Water Ring in the chest. Make your way through to the Forgotten Capital. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 49. Forgotten Capital ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turn left at the fork in the path and go into the house to find a save point and a Magic Source. In the room with the huge crystal in the center, go down the stairs to get the Aurora Armlet. Go back to the fork and head right. In the house to the right in the next screen, there's a Guard Source in the chest. In the next house, there's an Elixir and a place to rest. Rest and go back to the fork, heading down the middle. Go into the spiky house and pick up the Comet materia. (If you still have Cloud equipped with the Lightning materia, I suggest switching it for Comet and putting Lightning on Cid, paired with All. ~ Wolf) Go down the stairs and proceed to the Forgotten City. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 50. Death of the Flower Girl. You are a puppet, Cloud... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equip the Water Ring to Cloud if you haven't already, and go to Aeris. When you talk to her, you'll take out your sword and try to kill her, but one of your party members will stop you. Then Sephiroth will take matters into his own hands in this now classic cut-scene. After Sephiroth kills her, you'll fight Jenova-LIFE. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 51. Boss fight - Jenova-LIFE ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jenova-LIFE HP: 10,000 A little bit harder this time around. If you have the Water Ring equipped, her attacks will heal the character who has it. Be sure to get the Aqualung enemy skill before you kill her. Use hard hitting summons like Odin and Bahamut to drain her HP. Titan works well too, since she's weak against earth attacks. Heal when necessary and Keep an eye on your limit gauges. She should go down within 10 rounds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 52. Funeral - End of disc 1 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the battle, you'll bring Aeris to the lake in front of the spiky house and bury her, giving your party somewhat of a pep talk afterward. Now celebrate! You've completed Disc 1! Only two more to go! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 53. Follow Sephiroth! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go to the right at the top of the screen, where you couldn't go before. Go up the spiky stairs after you get the Viper Halberd out of the chest. In the next room, be sure to get the HypnoCrown, Bolt Armlet, Megalixir, and Magic Plus materia before you leave. Get the Power Source in the next room. You'll come out in a field of snow. Make your way to the town. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 54. Icicle Inn ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get the Glacier Map from the house next to the kids building a snowman. Don't forget the Hero Drink and Vaccine behind it. Go into the house in the top left corner and play the videos to learn about Professor Gast and Ifalna, Aeris's real mother, among other things. It's not required, but why would you want to skip out on the storyline? Plus, there's a Turbo Ether downstairs. Go outside and talk to the guy in blue at the top of the screen. He'll try to tell you now to go down the hill. Say "I'm still going." Elena will appear with two Shinra soldiers and attack you, accusing you of killing Tseng. When she tries to punch you, push either direction and she'll go rolling down the hill. After that, go to the house where the kid got hurt and talk to him. He'll give you his Snowboard. Talk to the guy in blue again and he'll tell you how to ride the Snowboard. He'll move aside and you can proceed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 55. Snowboarding Mini-Game ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Push up on the Directional pad to start. Use L1 and R1 to turn sharply, Square to slow down, and X to jump. I'm not sure what grabbing the balloons is for, other than for points in the Gold Saucer game. Dodge the snowmen and debris. You'll now be able to play the Snowboarding game at the Gold Saucer! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 56. Great Glacier ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The check on your map is where you need to go, but there are items to get here. Don't take too long to get them though, because you'll freeze and pass out. Near the place in the center of the map is a potion. Further ahead there is a simple puzzle to get across the icy water. Jump on the big blocks of ice to make your way across. Be careful. If you get surrounded by small blocks, you'll sink and have to start over. In the cave, there's a Safety Bit. In the small cave to the left of the map is an Elixir. Make your way to the area on your map with two lakes and a path between them. Touch the hot spring and head for the area on the bottom right corner of the map, to the right of the sign. In the cave, there's a girl in blue sitting down. Talk to her and she'll get mad at you for touching the hot spring and trying to touch her. Then you'll have to fight her. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 57. Boss fight - Snow ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snow HP: 4000 A simple fight. Just beat her down with normal attacks and fire magic if you've got it. She does the same attacks as the Snows that you fight all over the place. Once you beat her, pick up the Alexander Summon materia that she drops. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now make your way to the check mark on your map. In the blizzard at the top of the map there is a small cave with an All materia in it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 58. Gaea's Cliff - Cloud, the Mountain Climber ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the top, you'll meet an old man who'll tell you a story, as well as how to climb the mountain. When climbing the mountain, push the action button to confirm your route and the Square button repeatedly to raise your body temperature when you reach a ledge. Don't let your temperature fall to 26 degrees or you'll freeze and pass out, and you'll have to start over. As you climb higher, your temperature will drop faster. Just like in real life! Inside Gaea's Cliff, there's a Javelin in a chest in the first room. Push over any rocks you see. They clear path's with ice in the way. Be sure to get the Magic Breath enemy skill from the Stilva. It's one of the best enemy skills in the game, dealing up to 3000+ damage. In the next cave, there's an Elixir in a chest in the first room, as well as a Speed Source. In the room where you fight the Icicles, get the Fire Armlet from the chest to your immediate right and keep fighting until you get to the chest across the bridge. There's a Last Elixir in it. Go back to the first room and you'll be able to proceed. Pick up the Enhance Sword in the chest in front of you. Continue on and climb the last part of the mountain. You'll eventually come into a corridor with a green entrance. You'll see a guy in a black cloak get tossed and die. Run forward and you'll enter a boss battle. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 59. Boss fight - Schizo ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Schizo (Right) HP: 18,000 Schizo (Left) HP: 18,000 The right head uses fire attacks, while the left uses ice. If you don't have resistance against those elements, they can do up to 900+ damage, so be careful. Just use high-damage summons and pound on him with normal attacks and limit breaks. When a head goes down, it'll use a dangerous final attack that deals 1000+ damage, so keep your HP up for that. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 60. The Crater ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Continue forward and you'll reach the top of a crater, where you'll see the gushing fury of the Lifestream. Move down into the crater. Tifa will catch up to you and demand that you take her with you, if she's not already in your party. Continue on and pick up the Neo Bahamut Summon materia in the next screen. Just past the save point, you'll look up and see Rufus in his airship. Check the dead bodies in the next screen to get a Hi-Potion and an Ether. Cross the bridge when the wind isn't blowing or you'll get knocked back. Check the chest in the next screen to get a Kaiser Knuckle. To cross the next bridge, use the same strategy as before Wait for the wind to stop and run forward. In the next screen, you'll see Sephiroth kill more cloaked people. After he attacks you from the sky, you'll fight Jenova-DEATH. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 61. Boss fight - Jenova-DEATH ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jenova-DEATH HP: 25,000 Unleash any limit breaks you have and immediately use those high-damage summons right after. She may seem tough with all that HP, but she's a push over. Just watch out for her Red Light attack. It can do 900+ damage to a character if they don't have any fire resistance, and she hits everyone in your party one by one. After the battle, you'll get the Black Materia back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 62. Weapon Emerges! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Give the Black Materia to Barret, since no one else will take it and move forward. Pick up the MP Turbo materia along the way, as well as the Poison Ring next to the save point. Again, wait for the wind to stop and run. Take care not to get blasted by the lightning either. When you reach the top of the screen, it'll flash white and you'll be in Nibelheim. You'll see part of the same cut-scene from Cloud's flashback, except a black-haired character will appear instead of Cloud. Talk to Tifa. The screen will flash white again, and you'll see the town in flames, with the same black-haired character coming out of the mansion. Sephiroth will appear in front of you and tell you that your memories are just an illusion. Talk to him. He'll then say that you were constructed by Hojo to be a Sephiroth clone. Talk to Tifa again. Soon, the screen will fade out and you'll see Rufus enter a place with walls made out of materia. He and Hojo will talk for a moment and the place will shake, and an eye will open in the wall. The screen will fade back to Barret and the others. He'll run off and the screen will fade back to Rufus. Cloud and your party will appear and he'll tell everyone to leave. Barret will enter and Cloud will act weird. He'll take back the Black Materia and float into the air. Hojo will explain his experiment and Cloud will talk to himself. Then, the blueish-green crytsal in the ceiling will lower itself, revealing Sephiroth's torso. Cloud will give him the Black Materia and all the Weapons, including Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, and Ultimate will fly out of the crater, scattering across the world as Rufus's airship flies away. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 63. Escape from Junon ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The screen will flash white and Tifa will be on what seems to be a hospital bed of some sort, Barret sitting on the other side of the room. They'll talk for a while and Barret will open the windows, revealing Meteor in the sky. You'll now have control of Tifa. Talk to Barret. Rufus will walk in and tell you that you're to be executed. You'll now have control of Barret. Follow Tifa and the guard. Tifa will be locked in a gas chamber and some sirens will go off because of Weapon's approach. The fat reporter will gas Scarlet, knocking her unconscious, and reveal himself to be...Cait Sith! You'll enter a battle with two Attack Squads. Deal with them and check the door to the chamber. Keep doing so until Barret states the obvious. The screen will fade to Rufus's office. He'll give the orders to use the big cannon. The cannon will prove to be useless and Weapon will speed toward Junon in a fury. Soon, you'll have control of Barret. Talk to Cait Sith and leave the room. Head to the right and you'll see a reporter outside. Run over and talk to her and she'll reveal herself to be...Yuffie! (Assuming you got her earlier in the game.) She'll join your party. Continue on. Make your way to the airship. You'll reagin control of Tifa. Free yourself from the chair and turn off the gas by hitting the switch to the left of the chair. Now check the door. Weapon will tear a hole in the chamber and meet a very anticlimactic end by having his head blown off by the cannon. You'll climb out through the hole. Climb down and Scarlet will follow you. Run to the end of the cannon. Scarlet will appear behind you and slap you. Don't stand there and take it! Smack that bitch up! After your catfight, the airship will decend and Barret will throw you a rope, saving the day. You now have control of Rufus's or rather, Cid's airship, the Highwind! Now any area on the world map, except for a select few, will be easily accessible. You'll also be able to raise Chocobos now. (See Chocobo Raising guide for details.) Head for the cockpit. Talk to everyone and go to the operation room when Cid tells you to. Form your party and go back to the cockpit. Talk to the Pilot in training and say "We're going." While you're out flying around, go to the area where the Chocobo Ranch is and fight the Midgar Zolom. Have him use the Beta enemy skill on you. Be careful though, because it does up to 1300+ damage to your whole party if you don't have any fire resistance. You can also go to Goblin Island, the tiny speck at the top right corner of the map to fight a Goblin and get the Goblin Punch enemy skill. Go to the Northern Continent. Near the cave, there's a house with a green roof. Go inside to meet the Chocobo Sage. He can sell you things that are vital to getting the Gold Chocobo. Talk to the green Chocobo in the stable and he'll give you an Enemy Skill materia. Now leave and go to the island in the bottom right corner of the map. Go to that town. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 64. The New Leader - Save Corel! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go forward and talk to the cat. Someone nearby will mention a "pokey-headed boy holding a really long sword." You'll find out that it's Cloud and run to the clinic, where a nurse will wheel him out in a wheelchair. He'll start making weird noises, like the guy in the tunnel in Midgar. Oh no! Cloud has Mako poisoning! Tifa will decide to stay behind and the screen will fade back to the Highwind. Cait Sith will say that Heidegger and Scarlet are plotting something and offer to eavesdrop. The screen will fade to the board room in Shinra Tower. Heidegger and Scarlet will talk about their plan to gather Huge Materia from every region and smash it into Meteor. Fade back to the Highwind. Barret will nominate Cid to be the new leader, and he'll reluctantly agree. You'll now have control of Cid. Go to the operation room and form your party. Head for Corel when you've made your preparations. Head for the Mako Reactor. Kill the Attack Squads. After the battle, a train will drive by, carrying the Huge Materia. You'll steal a train and follow them. Alternate between the levers by pressing Up and Triangle. Catch that train! After a minute, you'll catch up to the train and jump on. Make your way to the front. You'll have to fight an enemy on each cart. You're timed, so don't take too long! If you make it in time, you'll get a Huge Materia. You'll also receive the Ultima materia from a kid. Equip it immediately and keep it until it levels up so you can use it. Before you leave, go to the tent in the top left corner of the screen and talk to the woman. She'll give you Barret's level 4 limit break, Catastrophe. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 65. Save Fort Condor! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now go back to the Highwind and go to Fort Condor. Go up the ladder and talk to the guy. Select "Okay, ready." Set your units and prepare for battle. If you manage to stop Shinra's assault, you'll see a cool FMV of the condor getting fried by some kind of fire bird. Go outside and pick up the Phoenix Summon materia. Go back inside and go downstairs. Talk to the guy at the table and he'll give you another Huge Materia. Now leave and go back to Mideel. Before you visit Cloud, go to the weapon shop. Talk to the little white Chocobo and give him some greens. Then "Tickle behind his ears." He'll give you Contain materia. Now go and talk to Tifa. The ground will shake and Weapon will fly around outside. Cid will shout obscenities at it and it'll fly down and fight you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss fight - Weapon ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapon HP: ???? Weapon cannot be sensed, so just wail on him until he flies away. Watch out for his Ultima Beam. It can do up to 1700+ damage. Other than that, he's not that tough. He should go down in a few rounds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 66. The Lifestream - Pull Yourself Together, Cloud! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the battle, the ground will stop shaking for a moment and start back up. Tifa will wheel Cloud out of the hospital just as the ground collapses, but will ultimately fall into the Lifestream. When you regain control of Tifa, go up and talk to the Cloud sitting in front of Nibelheim. Next talk to the one sitting in front of the well. When Young Cloud appears, go talk to the one sitting in front of Tifa's window. Then talk to Young Cloud. You'll see some of Tifa's past. When you regain control of her, talk to the Cloud-shaped shadow. Next, follow Cloud back to Nibelheim. You'll see the scene where Sephiroth cuts Tifa. The black-haired character, who will be revealed as Zack, will run in and chase Sephiroth. A Shinra soldier will run in, take Zack's sword and stab Sephiroth. He'll take off his helmet and reveal himself to be...Cloud! Soon, Cloud will be back on the team. Reform your party and head for Junon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 67. The Underwater Reactor ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pay the guard 10 gil to get on the elevator. At the top, make your way across the long road, like the first time you were here. When you get to the tunnel, go up to the guy in red, blowing a whistle. He'll tell his squad to attack you, but they'll turn around and run the other way, being the inept soldiers that they are. Follow them. Take out the two Submarine Crews on the elevator. When you get off, two more will attack you. Move forward. Go down the elevator past the save point. Head down the coridor and you'll reach the Underwater Reactor. Proceed through the tunnel. Be sure to fight a Ghost Ship while you're here and Morph it into a Guide Book. Give it to the old man in Kalm later to get the Underwater materia, which is good to have for fighting the Emerald Weapon. Push the red button in the elevator. Proceed across the catwalk. Make your way through the reactor, killing any guards along the way. Eventually, you'll see the huge materia being loaded into the red submarine. Reno is standing is front of you. Talk to him and he'll run off, leaving you to fight the Carry Armor. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 68. Boss fight - Carry Armor ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carry Armor HP: 24,000 Right Arm HP: 10,000 Left Arm HP: 10,000 The Carry Armor is weak against lightning attacks, so the Trine enemy skill and Bolt magic will be effective here. Watch out for the Lapis Laser. It can do up to 1500+ damage to your whole party. Its Arm Grab will take hold of one of your party members and damage him/her every once in a while until they die, only dropping them afterward. A held party member won't be able to attack. Focus on the main body. It'll take too long to kill each arm first. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 69. Follow the Submarine! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the battle, run to the other submarine and kill the Shinra soldiers. Don't forget to grab the Scimitar from the chest under the stairs. Just past that is another chest with Leviathan Scales in it. With this, you can get past the flames in the Da Chao statue back in Wutai and get the Steal as Well materia and the Oritsuru. In the submarine, you can choose to take the Shinra soldiers in the cockpit prisoner or fight them. It doesn't matter either way, but if you fight them, you'll get a little extra experience. Check the console and learn how to pilot the submarine. "Sit in the seat" and "Start the mission!" You'll have 10 minutes to catch up to the Red Leader Submarine and sink it. Watch out for the mines scattered around the ocean. If you lose track of the enemy sub, push R1 and use the radar. The mission is very easy. Just find the red sub and blast away until it sinks. Ignore the others. You'll now be able to play the Submarine game at the Gold Saucer! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 70. Cloud's Space Adventure ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the mission, you receive the Shinra Sub. With this, you'll be able to travel underwater and fight the Emerald Weapon later on in the game. Head for Junon Airport. After you see the Gelnika take off, go back to the Highwind and head for Rocket Town. Run to the rocket and you'll see a bunch of soldiers at the top of the stairs. Run up to them and kill them. Climb the ladder and you'll run into Rude. Dispatch him and his soldiers and enter the rocket. The technicians will tell Cid about their plan to send the Huge Materia at Meteor with the rocket. They'll also say that they planned to use the auto-pilot, but it's broken. Cid will offer to take over and send them away. Listen to Cid's speech and the rocket will start shaking. Palmer will come on the radio and tell you that the repairs on the auto-pilot are finished and that he launched the rocket. The rocket will lift off, with you and your party inside. Go back to Rocket Town when you get the chance and talk to the old man that gave you the Yoshiyuki. He'll give you Cid's ultimate weapon, the Venus Gospel. You'll see that the rocket is locked in a collision course with Meteor. Just when all seems lost, Cid will announce that he kept an Escape Pod on the rocket for such occasions. Head to the right and climb the ladder. Check the panel and select "Yes." You'll have 3:00 minutes to figure out the pass code and open the capsule to get the Huge Materia. Here's the code, if it's too hard for you. Circle, Square, X, X. If you manage to open up the capsule, you'll get the Huge Materia. Now go back down the ladder and go down from the cockpit to head for the Escape Pod. Something will explode and Cid's leg will be caught under the debris. He'll realize that Tank Number 8 exploded, meaning that Shera was right when she said it was malfunctioning before. Shera will come in and help you free Cid. Follow her to the pod. You'll eject from the rocket moments before it plows into Meteor. There will be a huge explosion and everyone will look up to see that Meteor is still there with barely a scratch. After Cid gives another speech, go to Cosmo Canyon and talk to Bugenhagen. After talking with him, Cloud will ask to leave the Huge Materia there. When you go upstairs, have the Bahamut and Neo Bahamut summon materia with you and check the blue Huge Materia to get the Bahamut ZERO summon materia. Now go back to the Highwind and head for the Forgotten Capital. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 71. White Materia? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go to the place with the huge white crystal in the center of the room. Bugenhagen will say something and float to the crystal. Go to it. You'll learn that the "key" to stopping Meteor is in "a place where even sunlight can't reach." When you regain control, go back to the Highwind. Fly back to the sub and go under. Float around until you see the a small chasm. Watch out for the Emerald Weapon floating around down here. Odds are you're not ready to fight him yet. When you reach the chasm, go in there and go through the small tunnel to the left until you reach the end and go back up. There should be a crater with a waterfall inside. Get Vincent in your party and go into the waterfall. A voice will say Sephiroth's name and Vincent will run forward. The voice will be Lucrecia, the woman Vincent was in love with. You'll see parts of Vincent's past, when he was still a member of the Turks. Come back on Disc 3 to get Vincent's ultimate weapon, the Death Penalty, as well as his level 4 limit break, Chaos. Further into the chasm, there will be an object that looks like a tree branch. Go to it and you'll discover that it's the Key to Ancients. You'll take it. Now go back to the Forgotten Capital and speak with Bugenhagen. He'll take the key and put it in the Music Box. A waterfall of some kind will fall onto the crystal. You'll find out that the water is a screen for images. You'll look at the water and see Aeris praying. You'll see that she prayed for Holy to come and that her prayer was answered, but Sephiroth is stopping Holy from appearing. Leave and Cait Sith will call you and tell you that Rufus has moved the big cannon from Junon (Now known as the Sister Ray) to Shinra Tower. Go back to the Highwind. The ground will shake and the screen will fade to Midgar and pan out to the ocean, where something will emerge and let out a roar. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 72. Save Midgar! Defeat the Diamond Weapon! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh no! The Diamond Weapon is headed for Midgar! Fly ahead of him and meet him at the shoreline. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 73. Boss fight - Diamond Weapon ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Diamond Weapon HP: ???? Normal attacks are pretty much useless against the Diamond Weapon. Use high-damage spells and summons to defeat him. Beware his Diamond Flash. It can do up to 2000+ damage to your whole party, as well as cause Silence. His stomp attack can do 1100+ damage to one person. His blue projectile thing does 700+ damage to one person. If you go all out, it shouldn't take more than 10 to 12 rounds to defeat him. Enjoy the 35,000 experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 73. The Fall of Rufus ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the battle, the Diamond Weapon will turn around and walk away. Rufus will give the order to fire the Sister Ray, triggering the start of a very cool, but somewhat sad cut-scene. The Sister Ray will gather Mako energy, causing all of Midgar to black out, and fire, blowing out the windows of Shinra Tower with the sheer magnitude of its power. The Diamond Weapon will retaliate, unleashing a flurry of missle-like projectiles. The Sister Ray's beam will swallow up some of the missle projectiles, but a few will get by. The beam pierces cleanly through the Diamond Weapon, knocking it on its back. The beam will continue, heading for the barrier surrounding Sephiroth's crater. It'll hit, causing it to disappear. Then the operator will notify Rufus of some high energy reading flying toward Midgar. They'll crash into Shinra Tower, engulfing Rufus in flames. For great justice! Head for the Northern Cave. During the cut-scene, Hojo will be shown trying to operate the sparking controls of the Sister Ray and Cait Sith will be revealed as Reeve. (What a surprise...) Head for Midgar. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 74. Midgar Revisited ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the way down, you can push the directional buttons to do spiffy flips through the air. Follow Cait Sith when you reach the ground. Go down the ladder. Be sure to check every chest you find. One of them contains Barret's ultimate weapon, the Missing Score, and this is your only chance to get it. When you go down the chute, the chest on the left contains a Starlight Phone. The one on the right has an Elixir in it. The chest highest above the others contains a Max Ray. While you're here, fight a Behemoth and get the ???? enemy skill from it. When you come out into the tunnel, go all the way down and get the W-Item materia. With this, you can use the Item Glitch. Equip it to someone and get in a battle. Choose an item you have at least two of and use the first one. Choose the same item, but cancel the action. You'll now have an extra item. Repeat as desired. This way you can get 99 Megalixirs, Phoenix Downs, etc. Don't forget to check the chests along the way and get the Power Source, Guard Source, Mind Source, and Magic Source. Now go allll the way back up. The Turks will catch you and challenge you to a final battle. You can accept or decline, but you can get some great items, as well as some extra experience for fighting them. Before you kill them, be sure to steal the Minerva Band from Elena, the Touph Ring from Reno, and the Ziedrich from Rude. Head up until you reach Shinra Tower. Cait Sith will run out and tell you that the Sister Ray is not that way, but go in anyway. Go to the 64th floor and check the lockers until you find the HP Shout, Cait Sith's ultimate weapon. Now go back down and follow Cait Sith. Go town three screens from the ladder and turn left at the fork. Climb up the ladder. You'll be confronted by Scarlet and Heidegger in their anti-Weapon mecha, the Proud Clod. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 75. Boss fight - Proud Clod ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proud Clod HP: ???? Jamar Armor HP: 20,000 Use hard-hitting summons and magic. Be sure to have some Turbo Ethers on hand to recover your healer's MP, because the Proud Clod can take off some good chunks of HP. The Wrist Laser can do up to 500+ damage to one party member. Its vulcan guns can do 900+ damage to one party member. Heal your party when it gets on its hand and knees. The Beam Cannon can deal up to 1000+ damage to the whole party. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 76. The Sister Ray - Stop Hojo! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Run up and get the Elixir and Mystile from the chests in the next screen. Climb the stairs and follow Cait Sith. If you have Barret in your party, you'll find a green chest at the top of the stairs with the Missing Score in it. Talk to Hojo at the top. He'll reveal himself to be Sephiroth's father. You'll have to fight him now. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 77. Boss fight - Hojo ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hojo HP: 13,000 Bad Rap Sample HP: 11,000 Poodler Sample HP: 10,000 At the start of the battle, Hojo will use Capsule and summon two monsters to fight alongside him. Ignore them and focus on Hojo. It shouldn't take too long to take out his first form. Second Form Helletic Hojo HP: 26,000 Left Arm HP: 24,000 Right Arm HP: 5000 Ignore the arms and conentrate your attacks on Helletic Hojo. The arms will just grow back if you kill them. Use hard-hitting spells and summons to take him out. Final Form Lifeform Hojo NA HP: ???? Same strategy as before. Be careful of his Combo. It hits up to six times and can poison you as well as put you to sleep. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 78. Personal Reflection - End of Disc 2 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone will meet on the bridge of the Highwind and Cloud will give a speech about why he's fighting, other than to save the planet. He will have everyone leave to figure out why they're fighting as well. Everyone will leave and Tifa will remain with him. The screen will fade to a cliff just outside the Highwind and they'll talk, having nowhere to go. The next morning, they'll get back on the airship and comment on how it's too big for the two of them. It'll move and they'll run to the bridge, seeing the rest of the party there. After they all talk, Cid will pull some levers that were bugging him, casting off the propellers of the airship and revealing jet engines. The end is near! Pop in Disc 3 and prepare for the final battle! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 79. The Northern Crater - Defeat Sephiroth! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go down the ladder and head down into the crater. Once you get there, there will be a Save Crystal in the chest to the left. (I suggest saving this until right before you fight Sephiroth. ~Wolf) You'll be able to leave the crater for whatever reason by going into the opening right next to the chest. Make your way down, picking up the Guard Source on the way. Be careful when fighting Gargoyles. If your party members' levels are a multiple of four and they use L4 Death, you're in trouble. While you're here, you can manipulate a Dark Dragon and have it use the Laser and Dragon Force enemy skills on you. In the next screen, go to the right and climb all the way down to get to the chest with a Guard Source in it. Then go a little further to reach the Mind Source. Climb back up to the top, picking up the Magic Source and the Elixir along the way. At the top, go left and climb up to get the Power Source in the chest and the HP Absorb materia to the right of it. Now head back down and proceed to the next screen. Be careful when fighting Scissors. Their Scissor Attack can instantly kill a party member if it hits. Immediately head to the opening to the left and go in, getting the Power Source and Guard Source. Go back to the top. Run all the way to the right and you'll fall through. Pick up the Mind Source to the left. Go a few steps to the right and jump up to the ledge above you. Go all the way across and jump off the other side. Go in the opening and get the Megalixir. Go back across the ledge and make your way down. Don't forget to grab the Hero Drink in the chest. You'll find the rest of the team in the next screen. How does everyone keep managing to get ahead of you anyway? Go to them and Cloud will state the obvoius, saying that the path splits into two. Choose either direction. It doesn't matter. But if you want more items, you should go through both of them at least once. We'll start with the right. Have everyone but the party members you want with you go the opposite direction. Everyone will say something and head off in their respective directions. If you run into a Master Tonberry, a little green guy wearing a cloak and a star floating over his head, RUN! Unless you're incredibly strong, this guy will tear you apart with it's Knife attack. He may look weak, but he has a lot of HP. (I suggest waiting until you're about level 65 to 70 before fighting them. ~Wolf) Make your way down and pick up the Mystile, the Elixir, the Speed Source, and the Megalixir. Head down the skeleton bridge. Ignore the stone steps for now and go into the opening to the right. In the next screen, make your way up, grabbing the Turbo Ether, the Speed Source, and the X-Potion along the way. To get the MegaAll materia, hit the action button the second you land on the step it's floating over. In the next screen, there's a Vaccine and a Turbo Ether. In the next one, there's an X-Potion, a Remedy and an Elixir. Head to the right in the next screen. This room is the best place in the game for AP and Experience. After getting the Magic Source and Remedy, you may want to hang out here for a while and fight the Magic Pots. You won't be able to hurt them unless you give them Elixirs. Fighting two of them will give you 16,000 EXP and 2000 AP. Movers, the little red bouncing balls, don't give you any EXP, but killing three of them will get you 2400 AP. This place is Heaven if you have some triple growth weapons and armor. When you're ready, head up. In the next screen, get the Vaccine, Imperial Guard, and the Shield materia. Head to the right and grab the Hero Drink on the way to the next screen. Head for the bright light in the center and pick up the Counter materia. Continue forward and you'll end up back in the room with the stone steps. This is the end of the line. Pick up the Luck Source in the chest and use your Save Crystal. Start moving down into the crater and choose your party members when you're given the opportunity. Make your way down to the platform in the center. If you run into a Dragon Zombie, just use Life 2 or a Phoenix Down to kill it instantly. It'll use the Enemy Skill Pandora's Box before it dies, so you can learn in if you have Enemy Skill equipped. At the center platform, you'll run into Jenova, who'll challenge you to a final battle. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 80. Boss fight - Jenova-SYNTHESIS ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jenova-SYNTHESIS HP: ???? Normal attacks will work fine against her. Especially if you have 4x Cut on Cloud with his Ultima Weapon. Just beat her down until she dies. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After killing Jenova, the platform will break into several pieces, leaving Cloud and his party to fall into an abyss of light. He'll land in a strange glowing area along with the rest of the team. Sephiroth will appear and knock everyone around with the sheer power of his energy. Cloud will notice that the light behind Sephiroth is Holy. Form your parties, giving careful consideration to your choices of materia. Everyone will be fighting for the next battle. Once you're ready, select "Let's go, everyone...!" and everybody will say something brave and heroic to Sephiroth before the battle begins. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 81. Boss fight - Bizarro Sephiroth ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bizarro Sephiroth HP: ???? First, attack the head. It's weak, so it'll go down easily. Switch parties when you're offered the chance to. You'll appear on Bizzaro Sephiroth's right side. This time, don't worry about switching parties yet. Don't switch until you've killed every part. You'll then appear on Bizarro Sephiroth's left. Again, kill every part, then switch. Once you return to Cloud's party, repeat the process one more time to finish him. Time for the final battle! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 82. Final Battle - Safer Sephiroth ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Safer Sephiroth HP: ???? Safer Sephiroth is not as tough as his theme music suggests. Regular attacks will work fine, but you may want to be at least lvl 85 or higher and have everyone's Ultimate Weapons to fight that way. He'll immediately cast Wall on himself, but it can be removed with DeBarrier. If you manage to get your Limit Gauges filled, don't hesitate to use them. Safer Sephiroth has quite a bit of HP. The only attacks you really need to watch out for are Heartless Angel, which lowers you down to 1 HP, and Super Nova, which can do up to 9000+ damage. Even at lvl 99, this is a dangerous attack. If Cloud has Omnislash and you use it, this fight should take no longer than five minutes. Afterward, Sephiroth will dissolve into nothingness. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Epilogue ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cloud and the rest of the team will be back where they started before the final descent into the crater, battle-weary and exhausted. Having completed their mission to defeat Sephiroth, they leave the rest up to the planet. As everyone begins to head back to the Highwind, Cloud senses something and stops. Tifa asks him what's wrong and Cloud tells her that the fight isn't over yet. Sephiroth is still alive. He falls to his knees as Tifa shouts his name and then...has an out-of-body-experience. Cloud falls through a black void, surrounded by a strange aura, and at the bottom of the void he finds Sephiroth, sword drawn, waiting for him. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 83. Final Battle II - Sephiroth ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Actually, this is more of an interactive cut-scene than a battle. Your limit gauge fills up automatically, which is a glaring hint that you're supposed to use it. Whether you got it or not, you'll have Omnislash. Use it and you'll finish Sephiroth for good. (Even if you let Sephiroth hit you, you'll automatically counterattack and win the fight. So make it look good and use Omnislash. It's there for a reason! ~Wolf) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After delivering the final blow to Sephiroth, he'll vanish in a flash of light, returning to the planet. Cloud will see Lifestream and a hand reaching for him from the sky. He sees Tifa reaching for him from a ledge and jumps to her, grabbing the edge just as it begins to crumble and saves Tifa as he climbs to safety. They rejoin the party and the Highwind comes crashing down from the top of the crater. They escape the crater just as it erupts with energy, the force of the explosion forcing Cid to pull an emergency switch to trigger another transformation of the airship. Meanwhile, at Aeris's House, Marlene looks out a window to see Meteor as it begins to demolish Midgar with it's tornadoes. Suddenly, Holy rushes to Meteor and stops under it, trying to stop the collision. Just as it seems to be failing, the Lifestream will come out of the ground and head toward Meteor and Holy. As it crashes into Meteor, attempting to destroy it, the planet shakes and there's a flash of light before Aeris's face is shown. The credits roll and a short scene taking place 500 years later is shown. An aged Nanaki is shown running through a canyon followed by what appear to be his children and they stop at a cliff to look at a ruined Midgar, covered in moss and shrubbery. Congratulations! You've beaten Final Fantasy 7! You didn't think that was the end, did you? What kind of RPG player are you?! You've still got a lot to do before you can truly say you've beaten this game. Continue on and see what else this game has to offer. Note - It's best to be on Disc 3 by the time you start these side-quests. In fact, most of these can only be done on Disc 3 anyway... =============================================================================================== II. Chocobo Raising Guide =============================================================================================== This will tell you how to get the fabled Gold Chocobo. It takes a while to get, but it's well worth the time. With the Gold Chocobo, you'll be able to get some great, hard-to-get materia. (This guide assumes you know how to catch and race chocobos. ~Wolf) The only useful Chocobos you can catch are the following: Good Chocobos - Just Southeast of Gold Saucer Great Chocobos - Just West of Mideel (Southeast island) Wonderful Chocobos - On the West side of the snowy northern continent. First, you'll need a Blue and Green Chocobo. To get them you need a Good and a Great Chocobo of the opposite sex, plus a supply of Carob nuts, which you can steal or win from the red monsters South of Bone Village. Race them up to at least Class B at the Gold Saucer and feed them a lot of high-cost greens. The best ones can be found at the Chocobo Sage's place in the northern mountains. Racing Chocobos up to higher classes and/or feeding them greens isn't required, but it can significantly increase your chances of getting the Chocobos you want. Be sure to save before breeding your Chocobos, so you can go back and try again if you fail. Good+Great using a Carob nut can produce: 1) another Yellow (Useless) Chocobo 2) a Green (mountain-climbing) Chocobo 3) a Blue (river-crossing) Chocobo To get a Black Chocobo, you need to mate a Blue with a Green. They should both be A class if possible. Blue+Green using a Carob nut can produce: 1) another Blue Chocobo 2) another Green Chocobo 3) a Black (river and mountain) Chocobo To get a Gold Chocobo, you need to mate a Black Chocobo to a Wonderful Chocobo. This time, racing is required. You'll have to race both up to S class, and make sure to feed them as much as possible with the best greens. You can steal or win the necessary Zeio nut from the Goblins on the small northeasternmost island on the map. Black+Wonderful using a Zeio nut can produce: 1) a Yellow Chocobo 2) a Black Chocobo 3) a Gold (mountain, river, and ocean crossing) Chocobo =============================================================================================== III. Getting the Final Weapons =============================================================================================== 1. Cloud Strife - (Ultima Weapon) Defeat the Ultimate Weapon. 2. Aeris Gainsborough - (Princess Guard) In the Clock Room in the Temple of the Ancients. (Does it really matter, though? ;) ) 3. Tifa Lockheart - (Premium Heart) Midgar Wall Market, Item Shop (With broken machine gun) on Disc 3. First, you'll have to go to Bone Village and dig up the Key to Sector 5. It's in the same spot you found the Lunar Harp. 4. Barret Wallace - (Missing Score) During Midgar Raid on Disc 2. After defeating Proud Clod, have Barret in your party while going up the staircase to Hojo. It's in a green chest. 5. Red XIII (Nanaki) - (Limited Moon) Visit Cosmo Canyon on Disc 3 and talk to Bugenhagen in the observatory. 6. Cid Highwind - (Venus Gospel) In Rocket Town, talk to the old man after the rocket is launched. 7. Cait Sith - (HP Shout) 64th floor in a locker in Shinra Tower. Can only get during Midgar Raid on Disc 2. 8. Yuffie Kisaragi - (Conformer) In the sunken Gelnika airship. In the research room in the corner opposite the Double Cut materia. 9. Vincent Valentine - (Death Penalty) In the waterfall on Disc 3. Found with level 4 limit break Chaos. =============================================================================================== IV. Defeating the Weapons =============================================================================================== ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Ultimate Weapon ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We'll start with the Ultimate Weapon, since it's the easiest one to kill. Fly around on the World Map. You'll find him hovering over a crater filled with water near Junon. When you're ready, run into him with the Highwind and you'll fight him. Ultimate Weapon HP: ???? Be careful of his Ultima Beam. It can deal up to 1700+ damage to your whole party. Use high-damage magic until he flies away. Ultima and any Contain materia magic works extremely well. He should go down in one round. Follow him after the battle. He'll eventually stop above Gongaga. This is your chance to attack. You'll only be able to fight him when he's not flying around. Heal your party and fight him again! Use the same strategy for each fight. You won't be able to see him right away afterward, but keep flying around until you spot him. He'll stop above Corel next. After that is Nibelheim, then Cosmo Canyon. This is when he'll get serious and use Ultima Beam more often. When you kill him, he'll use Shadow Flare enemy skill as a final attack, which does 6000+ damage to one character. He/she likely won't survive, unless they have more than 6000 HP. After the battle, you'll get the Ultima Weapon, Cloud's final weapon. While you're there, stop by Cosmo Canyon and talk to Bugenhagen and he'll give Nanaki his final weapon, the Limited Moon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Emerald Weapon ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For this and the Ruby Weapon, it's wise to raise your party to lvl 99. The easiest way to do this is to go to the Northern Crater and fight Movers and Magic Pots. Here's a recommended setup for your party. (This is what I had when I killed it. ~Wolf) Nanaki: Weapon - Limited Moon. Armor - Crystal Bangle. Materia - Mastered HP Absorb + Master Summon, Mime, Double Cut, Sense, Magic Plus, Mastered Restore + Mastered All, HP Plus, Mastered Contain + Mastered MP Turbo, Mastered Revive + Mastered All, Long Range Cloud: Weapon - Ultima Weapon. Armor - Mystile. Materia - Mastered HP Plus, Mime, Mastered Final Attack + Phoenix, Mastered HP Plus, Mastered Double Cut, Mastered Long Range, W-Item Enemy Skill Cid: Weapon - Venus Gospel. Armor - Ziedrich. Materia - Mastered HP Plus, Mime, Mastered Double Cut, Long Range, Underwater, Final Attack + Knights of the Round Do NOT have Counter Attack on anyone, or you're screwed. Once you're ready, go into the submarine and dive underwater. Find him and run into him to start the battle. Emerald Weapon HP: ???? If you follow these instructions exactly, this fight should be a breeze. Immediately have Nanaki cast Knights of the Round. Since it's paired with HP Absorb, it'll absorb 9000+ HP, so any damage you take from Emerald Weapon will be healed completely. After the first cast, have everyone use Mime for the whole battle. Eventually, Emerald Weapon will use Aire Tam Storm, which will wipe out your whole party. (If you have no materia equipped, this move doesn't hurt you. Look at the name of the move. Aire Tam Storm. Reverse the first two words. maT eriA. Truly evil, isn't it? ~Wolf) This is where the Phoenix comes in. Cloud will use that as his final attack and revive everyone. Then Cid will cast KOTR as his final attack. After Cid's casting, manually select KOTR with Nanaki, instead of using Mime, so you can start absorbing HP again. Then continue using Mime. By the 10th casting of KOTR, Emerald Weapon should die. Commence weeping over the wasted Exp. you get afterward, then bring the Earth Harp to the old man in Kalm to get three Master Materia, Command, Magic and Summon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Ruby Weapon ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For this battle, you want to have the same setup as above, but give Cloud a Master Summon and pair it with HP Absorb and put a Ribbon on him if he doesn't already have one. Before going into battle, kill two of your party members, leaving Cloud remaining. Yes, it sounds crazy to go into battle alone, but this is the best way to win. (If you start the fight with everyone, Ruby Weapon will use Whirlsand and eventually kill your whole party. ~Wolf) Ruby Weapon HP: ???? Since you start the battle alone, Ruby Weapon will shove his fingers into the ground, leaving him open to attack. (He can't be hurt otherwise. ~Wolf) Ignore his fingers and just attack his body. The fingers usually cause status ailments like Frog and Petrify, but the Ribbon will prevent that. Summon Knights of the Round. Afterward, Ruby Weapon will counter with Ultima, but with HP Absorb, you'll be able to heal completely. Mime until he dies. Bring the Desert Rose to the old man in Kalm and he'll give you a Gold Chocobo. Congratulations! Now you can brag to all your friends that you slew the legendary Ruby and Emerald Weapons! =============================================================================================== V. Hidden Materia =============================================================================================== 1. Underwater materia - In the Underwater Reactor, morph a Ghost Ship into a Guidebook and go to Kalm. Go to the house to the far right and go upstairs. Talk to the old man and give him the Guidebook. He'll give you the Underwater Materia in return. Equip this to remove the timer in the Emerald Weapon battle. 2. Hades Summon materia - In the wrecked Gelnika airship. You can get it once you have the submarine. It's in the wrecked helicopter in the cargo room. 3. Double Cut materia - In the wrecked Gelnika airship. It's in the upper-right corner of the room, hidden under the chest. 3. Quadra Magic materia - Gold Chocobo required. Fly to the southeastern continent and ride your Gold Chocobo to the cave to the far north of the continent. 4. HP<->MP materia - Gold Chocobo required. In the cave just north of Corel. This materia is very dangerous to use, especially near the end of the game, where most enemies hit for over 1000 damage. It's good when used with Quadra Magic, MP Turbo and any high-cost, high-damage magic or summons, though. Just hope that it takes only one turn to defeat your enemy and you get the first turn. 5. Mime materia - Black Chocobo or higher required. In the cave south of Wutai, just past the bridge leading to it. This materia is extremely useful for defeating the Weapons and clearing the Battle Square with ease. It repeats the last command that was chosen in battle. ie, If Cloud uses Omnislash, as long as no one else attacks, he can use Mime and use Omnislash as many times as you want. 5. Knights of the Round Summon materia - Gold Chocobo required. In the northeast corner of the world map. It's a large island with a heavily wooded area in the center. 6. Final Attack materia - Gold Saucer. Beat the Special Match in the Battle Square. 7. Master Summon - Master every Summon materia and check the red huge materia in the observatory. Can also be recieved from the old man in Kalm after defeating Emerald Weapon. 8. Master Command - Master every Command materia and check the yellow huge materia in the observatory. Can also be recieved from the old man in Kalm after defeating Emerald Weapon. 9. Master Magic - Master every Magic materia and check the green huge materia in the observatory. Can also be recieved from the old man in Kalm after defeating Emerald Weapon. =============================================================================================== VI.
