Similar to its predecessors, Grand Theft Auto V is easily worth ten times the
price of admission. Since this game is so new and I just got the game myself,
this guide is still a work in progress. It's from my first playthrough,
after all, and written without much sleep. Check back here later for updates
on the walkthrough, revisions to the text, and appendixes.

\/ YOUR LIFE OF CRIME BEGINS HERE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Welcome to Grand Theft Auto V! This first mission functions as a prologue to
frame the story and also acts as a tutorial; as such, it is extremely easy
and basically holds your hand all the way through. You are often directed to
do basic tasks like get in cover or fire a gun - these are the types of
things that you'll be doing throughout the game, so get used to things like
the cover mechanic and the aiming system.

To begin, walk into the next room with the hostages. While one of your
friends sets up the explosives, your job is simply to aim at the hostages to
herd them into the storage room. Press the aim button to "lock on" to a
target and move the right stick to switch between targets. The hostages, as
it were, are happy to oblige and frantically cower into the room.

Now that you're set with the explosives, you need to "call it in." :) Press
Up on the d-pad and X/A to view the contact list. Select "detonate" to blow
up the vault. With the vault now open, it's time to raid it. Head through the
double doors in front of you and make down the hall to the vault. Go inside
and pick up all the cash on the ground, then walk over to the corner of the
room and grab the non-sequential cash on the tray (GTA teaches us the darnest
things...)

\/ MAKE YOUR GETAWAY
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Exit the vault and a security cop tries to play hero. For this, you need to
switch to another character since you are currently controlling the character
being held by gunpoint. To do this, press Down and switch with the right
stick to the other character. From there, aim at the guard's head and pull
the trigger to kill him and end the threat. He has a big forehead that makes
it pretty easy to headshot him.

Run with your crew down the hall and press the appropriate button to take
cover behind the crate. When the door blows open, run inside and you'll
automatically open the next door. This leads outside to a whole lotta angry
cops. This is your first firefight with the police. The general strategy is
to take cover and pick them off as they pop out of cover behind their police
cars.

With this in mind, take cover behind the pillar to the left and pop out of
cover when you see cops open to kill. There are several cops here, but they
have notoriously bad aim, especially if you are properly in cover. You can
additionally hit the cops through the car windows if they stay in cover too
long or go back into cover while you are firing at them.

If you take too long, the cops will start to swarm to the sides of you, but
you should be able to gun them down even if they have a clear shot at you.
After you take out the initial wave, you a prompted to "move up" and it's
definitely a good idea. Run over to the cop car that is farthest away and
take cover behind it.

You are prompted to run and gun it, but it's safest to pick off at least one
of the cops from the safe cover of the car. When they're defeated, move up
with your crew and take cover behind the next car. Again, the game prompts
you to perhaps switch characters right now, but if you've been keeping up,
you shouldn't need to do this. From the cover of the car, take out the
policemen who arrive from further down the street.

Move up to the next cop car and repeat the process. After that, you are
finally given the OK to go to the getaway car. Note that if you tried to run
to it while you were supposed to be killing cops, nothing will happen because
your friends (which you can control) are still hung up. It's also MUCH slower
to walk in the snow, so run on the road to the getaway car and press
Y/Triangle to get inside.

\/ GET TO DA CHOPPA!
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

After the scene, you are finally in control of the car. As you can clearly
see by the yellow line on your map, you must drive straight for a while and
then take a right turn to the chopper area. STAY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE
ROAD and ignore the policemen that whiz by; incidentally, they do not know
that this is the car they're after, so they'll just go on by without a clue.

At the road block, brake a little and turn right. Accelerate to the train
tracks and watch the dramatic scene that ensues. After the scene, you only
have control of one of the characters; from the safety of the cover, take out
all of the policemen Rambo-style. You can basically just alternate between
the cover button and the fire button and you'll take them out quickly. Just
remember to stay in cover when you're reloading.

I don't know whether you have to kill a certain number of cops or just wait a
certain period of time, but after around fifteen seconds you'll complete this
starting mission and the prologue. I did not fully comprehend the funeral
scene at first (I thought we were retreating to a funeral), but the
Psychologist Office scene is really funny!

After the Psychologist Office cutscene, Michael takes a little walk on the
beach and happens upon Franklin and Lamar. They ask where a house is; Michael
initially declines, but then tells them. The twosome makes their way to the
alleyway and you're left controlling Franklin for the first time.

\/ CHOOSE ONE OF THE CARS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Head down the path to Franklin and you're prompted to choose a car. I don't
think it really matters which one you choose, because Lamar chooses the other
and they are pretty much the same aside from color. I personally chose the
red one, but only because it was closer. ;) However, you might consider
choosing the white one because then Lamar's car will be more visible.

\/ BABY'S FIRST JOYRIDE!
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

After a little scene in which you are introduced to car hood mechanics, Lamar
zooms off and tells you to chase after him. Accelerate out of the small
driveway and turn left on the correct side of the road. You can target
Lamar's car by pressing B/Circle, and then you are given the option to chase
him free of the zoom.

Follow Lamar as he makes a sharp right turn. You are then told how to do
special abilities, and for Franklin, it's a car ability, but we don't need to
do it right now. Continue following Lamar through the city - there are not
many cars on the road right now, and the cars at intersections gladly stop
for you.

Soon you'll reach a studio. Follow Lamar as he rams through the gate and
speeds through the studio. You might hit a few people working on a movie, but
it's no big deal. Out of the studio, follow Lamar as he weaves through the
city. When prompted, follow him through the alley and then get some air on
the bumps in the road.

Lamar actually gives you directions, which helps a little so you know when to
turn. However, the path is very straightforward and he doesn't drive too
fast. He'll start to drive on the wrong side of the road, but you shouldn't
have any trouble following him because the cars pull over once they see him.

Head into the parking garage and turn on your headlights as prompted. Go in
and out of two more parking garages and you'll have a small cutscene which
ends with the cops out to get you.

\/ LOSE THE BLUES
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

In vintage Grand Theft Auto style, you must lose a two-star wanted level. The
police are conveniently denoted on the mini-map, and it also shows their
field of vision on the map. You must simply stay out of their vision for long
enough to lose your wanted stars.

Just as the game prompts, it's easy to do this in an alley or some type of
lot-structure. You can also just zoom away and dodge the police that are
looking for you. Note that you cannot just outrun them as more policeman will
come in a new area. Just stay out of line of sight long enough to lose them.

When you've lost them, you must now take the car back to the dealership. This
is really simple because the yellow line on the minimap shows you the
shortest route to the dealership. Just follow the yellow brick road and
you'll be there in no time. At the dealership, walk into the showcase room
and watch the small cutscene.

\/ GO TO FRANKLIN'S HOUSE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Afterward, walk with Lamar back over to your car (your *real* car, not the
one you stole) and drive to Franklin's house. Again, follow the yellow line
and you'll be there in no time. At his house, park the car in his garage -
the one with the blue garage door.

The next cutscene introduces a lot of game mechanics: barbershops,
television, saving, sleeping in your bed, and changing your wardrobe. After
that, you'll get a mission passed sign and a look at how you did - if you won
the race, "winner," if you didn't hit anyone, "we come in peace," and if you
didn't destroy the car, "not a scratch."

Leave the house and you'll get a call from Simeon. He has some work for you,
and an "S" icon shows up on your map. However, for the first time, you can
finally free roam a little, so you might want to do that since I know ya'll
been itchin' for it. To continue the story, drive over to Simeon's icon.

After you are awarded Employee of the Month and discuss in typical GTA
protagonist-style how you want to be the boss, you have some Repossessin' to
do with Lamar. Head over to the white car in the back and get going! The way
to Vespucci Beach is denoted by the yellow line on the mini-map. It's a
fairly straightforward ride with no hiccups or bumps. When you get there,
park the car at the yellow circle and exit the vehicle.

Jump over the gate by pressing Square/X and follow Lamar as the two of you
mosey on down the alley. Franklin comments that it's sketchy, but Lamar
doesn't seem to care. When you get to the end, you need to check the garages
for the bike. After checking all three, the Vagos show up to fight and Lamar
shoots one of them down.

\/ TAKE OUT THE VAGOS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Grab the gun on the ground and take cover behind the wall in the garage. From
the safe cover (and with Lamar in front of you), take down each of the Vagos.
They like to randomly walk between covers, so get them while they are walking
back and forth.

When you've taken them down, move up with Lamar. Just as he tells you, take
cover behind the orange truck. From here, you must shoot the white gas can
because there is an enemy next to it that has got Lamar pinned down. Merely
aim at the white gas can above Lamar and shoot it a few times to blow it up.

More enemies decide to show up; shoot them from the safety of the orange
truck. There are a few down in the alley and two on the balconies. After
clearing them, a blue car drives in and leaves a gas trail. Fire at the gas
trail to light them up in flames.

Once you've cleared them all, you see the bike you need to repo drive off
with its owner. Run after him and climb the fence as you did before. Get in
your car and start pursuing him.

\/ GET THE BIKE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

You must catch up to the bike and shoot down the rider. The game directs you
on how to shoot, but you should focus on pursuing him so he doesn't get too
far away. He goes through a few alleys, but after a little while he just
stays on an open road and becomes a very easy target. When you get close to
him, fire at his back a few times and you should kill him. The bike skids to
the ground and you can now pick it up.

\/ GO TO THE CAR WASH
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Simply drive the bike over to the car wash. The route varies a little
depending on when you got the bike in the chase, but it's pretty easy to get
there. When you get to the car wash, watch the cutscene and the mission will
end. Your mission time, accuracy, and number of headshots determines your
score, and you can always repeat the mission if you don't like your score.

Since you're so close, you might as well do the first Strangers and Freaks
mission.

This mission is located directly behind the car wash; just walk over from it
if you've just completed Repossession. After the cutscene, your first task is
to simply go to the tow truck. Hijack a car if you don't have one, wait for
Tonya to get in, and drive over to the tow truck yard. The gate opens for
your car, so park it inside and then get in the tow truck.

\/ GO TO THE ABANDONED CAR N' TOW IT!
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The tow truck is very slow and has bad handle, but all you have to do is
drive over to the abandoned car, which is pretty close. When you get there,
the game tells you how to tow the car. You must line up with it and make sure
the crane is down, then target the car and carefully back up into it.

Simply drive back to the tow lot with the abandoned car hooked behind you.
When you get there, drive in the proper gate and drop the car off at the drop
zone. When you've done that, the mission ends and you'll see how you did. As
you can see, time is important here.

After passing the mission, Lamar texts you and the "F" icon shows up on the
map. Head back to your house (the "F" icon) to begin the next mission.

After the cutscene, follow Lamar and Chop as they walk down the street. When
prompted, get in the white van and drive to Vinewood Boulevard. It's across
town, but you basically just need to drive down one long road. When you get
to the location, watch the cutscene and run back to the van. Time for another
chase!

\/ THE CHASE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Don't waste any bullets trying to gun him down; just follow him as he goes
through the city. He doesn't drive very fast for having a motorcycle, and
your van can keep up with him rather easily. Soon he'll go into an alleyway;
follow him and watch as he gets run over by a bus.

Franklin lets Chop loose but you still need to run after him. Just follow
Chop as he leads you to him. Climb the fence and jump down the roof onto the
orange storage unit and finally the ground. From here, follow Chop to the
wall and in a cutscene Franklin destroys it so Chop can run through. Continue
pursuing him through the trains and another cutscene ensues.

After the cutscene, switch to Chop (use the character menu like in the
prologue) and watch as Chop "sniffs him out." When prompted, switch back to
Franklin and open the boxcar doors. He's not in either of them, so continue
to follow Chop when he... erm... runs off to hump another dog. Run after Chop
and Franklin will get him off. (For now...)

Back at the train, open the first boxcar door to finally find him. He'll
start to run again, but Chop thankfully catches up to him and tackles him to
the ground. Run over to them for another cutscene, then drive to the
indicated location. When you get there, Franklin just throws him out of the
car, and then you have to drop off Lamar at the rec center. The mission ends
when you drop him off.

Head over to Simeon's dealership; to start the mission, walk out front in the
parking lot (unlike before where you went inside the back). During the
cutscene, Simeon explains that we need to repo another vehicle for him. Find
a car and head over to the house. Simeon calls you half-way and tells you
that he knows you took the bike in the last mission for yourself, but he
still wants you to do this mission anyway it seems.

\/ STEALTH TO THE CAR
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

When you get to the house, you figure out it isn't as clear-cut as you
thought: you must find a way to get in! I personally went around the side of
the house and jumped on the short wall, then the pillar, and finally jumped
into the pool area of the house. There might be a more creative way, but that
worked fine for me. Head from the pool patio to the car (dot on mini-map) and
your new object will be to take out the gardener.

Note that you cannot get too close to the gardener or the mission will fail.
You also cannot shoot the gardener or the mission will fail. With this in
mind, go back to the pool area and try to go the long way around. When you
get through the patio, the game prompts you to jump on the white truck and
then the roof to get to the window.

Before you go through the window jump down on the other side of the house to
reach the driveway and the garage. Sneak up on the gardener and perform a
stealth attack to knock him out. Backtrack to the roof and enter through the
window this time.

Wait in the room until both of the siblings are in their rooms. Once you've
waited, SLOWLY walk to the stairs and descend to the first floor. From here,
turn to the kitchen to see the wife messing around with a golf instructor.
You *do not* need to go into the kitchen at all; the door to the garage is
*before* the kitchen. Turn left at the first available opportunity and sneak
into the garage.

\/ DRIVE BACK TO SIMEON'S
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

You don't need to worry about opening the garage door manually. Simply get
inside the car and the garage door opens for you. Drive out to the street and
start driving back to the dealership when a familiar face pops up out of the
backseat. Listen to their conversation as you drive back to Simeon's
dealership.

When you get there, you are ordered to drive through the window of the
building. Just do as he says - you can use the zoom function in the game to
figure out exactly what you need to drive through. It's the clear glass
window next to the big bulletin of a red car.

\/ BEAT UP SIMEON
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

After you drive in, a cutscene occurs and you have control of Michael. You
need to beat up Simeon in hand-to-hand combat. It's an easy fight that
doesn't need much explaining: press the punch button over and over until a
cutscene.

The mission is passed after you've beaten up Simeon. More importantly, you
now have control of Michael! You actually have control of BOTH Michael and
Franklin now; switch to Franklin to get the lowdown on him and Lamar. The
game prompt tells you that some missions are only for Franklin and some only
for Michael; Franklin is the green letters and Michael is the blue letters.
For now, control Franklin and Drive to the green "M" on the map. You don't
need to hop a fence anymore; you can actually drive into his driveway.

Franklin and Michael "shoot the breeze" a little by the pool before Michael's
son calls up all distressed. It seems we got ourselves a little mission here:
get the boat back. Run through the house (or go around the side) and hop in
the red shiny car.

\/ GET THAT BOAT!
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Follow the yellow brick line to the boat, which is definitely "in a hurry."
Chase after it at full speed and get up behind it so Franklin can jump on.
This is much easier than it sounds because both your vehicle and the boat's
vehicle top off at around the same speed.

After Franklin jumps on the boat, tail him in the car. Soon one of the bad
guys has Franklin pinned down, so you need to shoot at the bad guy from your
car. This is kinda difficult, but if you just shoot wildly while up against
the back of the boat, you should kill him.

Once you've done that, watch Franklin with the cinematic button if you want.
It ends with Michael's son, Jimmy, hanging from the sail in the highway. You
need to drive up under Jimmy so he falls into the car. Just put the pedal to
the metal and drive on the yellow circle.

After you've got Jimmy, follow the boat for a little bit. Soon, Franklin
wants to get off of the boat - accelerate hard and get up behind the boat.
Once Franklin's back in the car, continue your pursuit and then the engine
will go all wonky in your own car.

\/ GO TO LOS SANTOS CUSTOMS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Franklin suggests going to Los Santos Customs to get the car fixed. Make a U-
turn and follow the yellow line to the shop. Along the way, hilarious
conversation between Michael and Jimmy ensues, and it ends with Franklin
calling a taxi for Michael.

When you get to the shop, Michael gets in the cab and Franklin is left to
take care of the car. Drive through the purple garage door to reach the shop
itself. Repair the car (it should be FREE) and leave the garage with spending
any money.

Now you just need to drive Jimmy back home. Follow the yellow line back to
Michael's place. You'll get some more funny dialogue along the way. Is it
just me, or is Franklin - CJ from San Andreas, Michael - Tommy Vercetti from
Vice City, and Jimmy - Jimmy Hopkins from Bully kinda? Sure seems like a
match made in heaven. And the first "couple" Righteous Slaughters? Sounds
like a GTA reference!

After you've driven Jimmy home, you have another hilarious cutscene and the
mission ends. "Not A Scratch" and a good time is needed for a perfect score.
After an angry Simeon calls, head to the next Franklin mission ("F" in green
on the map).

After the long reunion cutscene, get in the car and drive to Ammu-Nation.
It's pretty close - when you get there, you can park wherever you like.
Inside the store, browse a little if you want, but your mission objective is
to buy a Pump Shotgun and a flashlight mod. The shotgun is located in the
top-left of the wall.

After purchasing the shotgun, head back to the car and drive to the recycling
plant. Once you get there, drive around back and park next to the green
double-doors. Go inside and head up the stairs. The cutscene reveals that
Lamar is a complete dodo brain and you've been set up.

\/ ESCAPIN' THE PLANT
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Immediately get into cover behind the crates and take down the enemies in
front of you. They hide behind the crates themselves, but they love to
stupidly run to different cover positions for no apparent reason. There are a
lot of them, so take them down one-by-one as you duck in and out of cover.

When you've cleared the area, pick up all the items that the enemies have
dropped, then follow your friends through the door and into a locker room.
Watch as Lamar goes down the hall and gets slightly ambushed; kill the two
men that run into the room and grab the health pack on the ground next to the
white shelf.

In the adjacent room, take cover behind the center crate as you clear the
area. You can also use your friends as "meat shields" of sort. When you've
cleared the area, pick up anything that they have dropped and continue
through the plant.

Descend the stairwell with Lamar in front - he'll take down the one enemy
that tries to come up. At the bottom of the stairs, head through the door and
immediately take cover behind the crate. Try to fire at the enemies as they
come into the room, but value cover over killing as they aren't that much
harder to kill when they get set up.

Grab the ammo and head to the next room. This is a very large room with
crates and piles of white sacks that make walls. Immediately take cover
behind the crate and take out the closest enemies. You should wait until your
friends get set up before you start picking people off, but soon an enemy
puts the white sacks on fire.

Stay away from the fire because it WILL hurt. If you do get caught on fire,
just stay in cover and you will recover your health to 50%. Stay on the LEFT
SIDE as you take down the remaining enemies in the room. The most problematic
is the enemy on the second floor balcony, so take him down first.

Move up the room and kill any remaining enemies. When the room is clear, grab
all the ammo from the dead enemies, but skip the corpses that are near the
fire unless you want to get burned. There is a conveniently located health
pack near the door that I recommend you use right now. Go through the yellow
doors and take down the two enemies that you encounter in the hall.

Exit the building through the fire escape door and you'll encounter a
helicopter outside. While this may seem like a suicide moment, you can easily
kill the pilot with your gun and force the chopper to bail. When you've taken
care of the chopper, follow your friends up the ladder and run across the
catwalk to a rooftop. Jump over the wall and get inside the first car you
come across; if you have to restart here because someone died, there is
usually a car that spawns right in front of you.

From here, it's the normal process of lowering your wanted level. Drive off
to evade the current cops on the street, then find a good alley to stay in
while you let your heat die down. You have a three star wanted level this
time, so it will be a bit tougher.

The first thing you're going to want to do is drive under something like an
overpass to get out of the helicopter's sight. Once that happens, the
helicopter pretty much permanently goes away and you just need to evade the
police cars. If you simply drive really fast through half the city, you'll
outrun them and get out of sight. From there, evade the patrolling cop cars
by using your mini-map. You can easily drive around the same street and stay
unseen.

When you lose your wanted level, head back to Franklin's house to complete
the mission. Headshot, accuracy, unmarked, and time count here if you want
the gold. Head over to Michael's house for the next mission.

found out about the tennis coach and wants payback.

\/ CHASE THE TENNIS COACH
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The truck that you're driving ain't all that fast or good at handling, but
you should have no problem keeping up with the tennis coach. Just use the red
dot on the screen if you have any problems. He doesn't drive very fast and
doesn't make any quick turns. Soon, he'll go up a small road and be saved by
a van that pulls out right in front of you.

\/ DRIVE TO THE CANYON
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Follow the yellow line to the coach's surprisingly expensive house. It is a
dirt road, so the traction from your vehicle will be a little different.
Instead of getting out of the car when you first see the coach on the
balcony, continue driving to the yellow circle to reach a cutscene.

\/ BRINGIN' DOWN THE HOUSE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Watch the cutscene as Franklin ties up the support beam of the house to the
car. Get in the car and hold down the accelerate button. You won't get
anywhere, but the house slowly falls apart the longer you hold down the
button until the whole thing goes down the cliff.

Start to drive back when you get a call from the tennis coach. It seems that
that wasn't his house, and instead it was the house of someone who knows a
person named Madrazo...

\/ LOSE MADRAZO'S MEN
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Franklin fills in Michael on Madrazo, and your job now is to lose his men.
There are just two cars, but they do a good job (better than the police) at
staying on you. A great way to get rid of them is to do a jump from one road
to another road. The men will have to take the road all the way around, but
you'll be able to drive off. I personally did this at the freeway on the
other side of the city.

Note: you can switch between Michael and Franklin here; the game even
suggests it. However, I found it best to just focus on driving through the
city and losing them.

After you've lost them, drive back to Michael's house. Hopefully your truck
is still able to run after all that! When you get to his house, watch the
cutscene to find out who Martin Madrazo really is and why Michael must get
out of his retirement.

When you have control again, grab a car and head over to Lester's icon. It's
a long way from your current locations, so pick a fast car and take the
highway. Lester's house is in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
You'll need to go up and knock on his door to start things back up.

With the backpack in hand, return to your vehicle and drive to the suburban
store in Vinewood. It's a very hip, black-and-white store on the side of the
street. Inside the store, buy a gilet and some shorts. It doesn't matter
which you choose, and they are all the same price, so just choose the one
that you think looks best on an old geeky man like Michael.

Get back in your car and drive over to the Lifeinvader office. Park at the
yellow circle and walk up to the door. After the cutscene, follow the
Facebook Employee (I mean Lifeinvader programmer) through the office and up
the stairs.

Get on his computer and "fix it." You must first close all the NSFW pop-ups,
some of which pop up again if you take too long. It's a rather funny scene,
but when you finally get to the desktop, run the antivirus. Note that all
pop-ups must be closed for it to run!

After cleaning his computer, walk over to the room with the prototype.
Michael does his thing with the prototype, and then you have to exit the
building. Just exit the way you came - walk over to the opposite side of the
building, head down the stairs, and walk to the back exit. Get back in your
car and drive to Michael's house as he talks with Lester on the cell phone.

You can actually park in the garage and go through the door in the garage!
Yay for realism! In the house, walk over to the television room and hijack
the television from Michael's daughter. Change the station on the television
to get the keynote. When Norris gets out the cell phone, whip out your own
cell phone and give him a call. It's under "Jay Norris." Watch the hilarity
(or horror) that ensues. You get a better grade if you clear the pop-ups fast
and if you quickly complete the mission as a whole.

Go upstairs to Michael's room and head to the wardrobe. Get out of this
ridiculous outfit and put on a suit. We're doing Lester's next mission!

...only halfway to Lester's house, you get a call from Amanda, and she needs
your help. You have a choice of whether to help her or not, and in this
walkthrough, we are the good husband and help her. I think if you ignore her,
you can just proceed to the mission after this one.

This mission is a breeze, but it *does* have a countdown clock. You have
three minutes to get to Amanda or you will fail the mission. It should only
take like 30 seconds to get there, unless you have a slow car or you were out
in the middle of nowhere when you got the call.

When you get to her, you'll see the policeman and the store owner talking out
in front of the police car. Amanda's in the police car, so hop on in (hijack
the police car) and accelerate forward. You'll get a three star wanted level,
which you'll need to shake off, but you've been getting used to doing that.
Just speed away and when everyone's out of the area, cruise around slowly and
dodge any patrollers.

After you lose the wanted level, drive Amanda back home. Oh, and ditch the
police car - the neighbors might start talking! After that quickie mission,
Lester texts you about the Stock Market, and if you want, you can do some
investments right now and try to make some money if that's your thing. Buy
low, sell high, as always!

Rickie will also be unlocked as a heist crew member if he hasn't been
unlocked already.

Anyway, drive over to Lester's icon as originally planned. Drive into the
side-street and go through the green double-doors.

After the funny cutscene, get in the car with Lester and drive to the store.
On the way, Lester brings up some interesting points about Michael's past.
When you get to the store, park at the yellow circle and walk around to the
"alley" on the map, which is actually the storefront.

\/ TAKE A PICTURE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Head inside the store and change to hidden camera mode. You must snap a
picture of each of these things: (a) a camera, (b) an air vent, and (c) the
alarm keypad. The camera is in the corner of the room by the entrance door;
the air vent is in the opposite corner of the room; and the keypad is by a
luxurious brown door on the left side of the room.

When you've taken pictures of all three, you are asked to talk to the shop
assistant. Michael does his usual charm routine, and then you are asked to go
back to the car and drive around the block. Just take the first right and
drive around the building.

\/ ROOFTOPS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Soon you'll find a construction site; get out of the car and go inside.
Ascend the wooden stairs and head outside to find a ladder. After climbing
it, walk out to the roof and Lester talks about how he needs some pictures of
the air vents. Walk across the roof and go up the ladder to reach the vantage
point.

This is actually where the unit is *at* but we can't take a picture of the
fence. Go around it and jump up on the adjacent high ground. From here, turn
around and take a picture of the air conditioning unit that is fenced in with
barbed wire. Lester helps you find it if you are having trouble.

When you've taken the last picture, Lester pesters you to get back to the
car. Just go the same way you came for safety - you won't be seen even though
Lester states that you might be. When you get to the car, drive back to the
garment factory.

\/ THE PLAN
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Lester goes over the mission. You'll have quite a few choices as to how you
want to rob the store. The big choice is whether you want to go Loud (Rambo)
or Smart (Stealth). The other choice is of your crew members - the better the
crew member, the more money they'll want, and vice versa.

Your crew members should partially be determined by what route you choose to
go. If you want to go stealth, you don't need very good guns, and if you
choose to go Rambo, you need very good guns. The Getaway man determines the
type of vehicle you have, and the hacker determines how long it will take to
open the system, meaning how long you'll have to wait while in the store.

It's really up to you here: you can get more money if you choose worse crew
members, but you might get frustrated if things don't go as well as expected.
I recommend that you choose bad crew members if you haven't had any
difficulty at all in this game (firefights, chases, losing heat) and good
crew members if you've died and had to restart missions a few times. Overall,
though, it's entirely your choice.

After selecting your crew, you have to confirm the option, then Lester says
he'll call when everything's ready. With that done, the mission is finally
passed. You get a better score if you did this mission quickly, and you get a
"picture perfect" if you took good pictures I assume.

Head back to Michael's house for the next mission.

Despite the title, the start of this mission concerns Jimmy and not his
daughter. Or, maybe it was supposed to be that way? :P Anyway, get in the car
and drive to the bike rental area. It's a long drive, and you'll have a few
father-son moments along the way.

\/ RACE JIMMY TO THE PIER
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Stop the car at the yellow circle and grab any of the bikes. Apparently if
Jimmy beats you in the bike race you have to buy him a new television, but
he's so slow you can almost walk to the pier. There are no difficult turns
along the way; it's a fairly linear route with few pedestrians. The main
hiccup is you might decide to go up the stairs to the pier on your bike, but
you're completely capable of doing that.

When you get to the finish line, you have another cutscene in which Michael
finds out his good little daughter's about to do porn apparently. Right away
Michael rips his shirt and is ready to swim to the huge ship. Run to the edge
of the dock and press the indicated button to dive in the water.

Swim in the water all the way to the ship. Tap X/A repeatedly to swim faster
and go underwater if you like. When you get to the ship, climb the ladder and
then go up the stairs. An hilarious (or not so hilarious, if you're a father)
cutscene ensues, and then you're on one of those speedophile (appropriate
name) vehicles that you saw earlier.

\/ LOSE THE DUDES
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Ride into the "outlet" at full speed while Michael's daughter's pedophiles
pursue you. You must "lose the pursuers" now in this water tunnel, but you
don't have any of those tricks that you do in a car. You just basically need
to speed really fast through the river. Just stay in the middle so you don't
crash into any piers or anything.

After you lose them, you need to get back to Jimmy. Just ride back on the
speedophile because Jimmy's on the beach by the pier. When you get back,
there is a funny cutscene and then the mission is passed. You get more points
if you have a good top speed and lose them fast. You will unlock the
Triathlon after completing the mission.

Lester calls and tells you that he found what was needed for the heist. What
you need depends on which style of entry you chose (Loud v Quiet). This guide
chose Quiet, and so we will be doing the Quiet mission here. I'm sure that
the Loud heist setup mission is mostly identical, so don't fret if you chose
Loud. (Loud looked a lot more straightforward and like it didn't a
walkthrough.)

This is a simple snatch and grab mission. Drive to the H on the map to reach
the warehouse where they are keeping the Bugstar Vehicles. There will be
workers around that are annoyed of your presence, but they won't call the
police until you hijack the van.

In the van, speed off and *go on the railroad tracks* to easily lose all of
the police. Drive on the railroad tracks until you reach where the tracks
bridge over the river. When you're on the bridge over the river, the cops
can't find you or get to you. When you've lost the heat, deliver the vehicle
to Lester.

If you do this using stealth and you don't alert any of the workers, you get
the "Sneaky Pest" goal and get a better score.

The gas grenades are in an armored van that drives around the city. Your job
is to get the gas grenades from the van and lose any cops you might have on
you as a result.

The way that I personally did this - and it might not be best way - is to
hijack the van. Catch up to it in a fast car, block the van's path, and
hijack it. You'll get two wanted stars as a result, but you can shake them
off if you find an alley. It is a little difficult because the van is so
slow, but it's basically indestructible, so all you need to do is drive
around until the cops aren't looking for you anymore.

Also, you can shoot the tires to make the van stop, but then you'd have to
drive the van with horrid handling. There is probably a much easier way to do
this, and if you have one, please email me. This way gets the job done,
though, and I think the two star wanted level is unavoidable.

Drive the van back to the garment factory to complete the mission.

This covers the "Quiet" version of this mission, but I'm sure the "Loud"
version does not deviate *that* much from it. (I assume the loud version is
exactly as it is described: go all Rambo on the place.)

Listen to Michael's speech and then enter the car with Franklin. Drive to the
construction site adjacent to the Jewel Store, the same place where you took
the picture of the air vents. Michael drops Franklin off and you have control
of the latter now.

\/ BZ GAS THE STORE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Ascend the stairs and climb the ladder to reach the roof. From here, jump
over the small barriers between the buildings as you make your way to the
yellow marker. Climb the ladder and jump across to the small building incline
adjacent to the air vent fence. This is the same place where you took the
pictures from an earlier mission. Select the BZ Gas from the weapons menu and
throw it into the circle in the middle of the fence. If you just put your aim
pointer so it's in the middle of the circle, they'll go in just fine.

\/ SMASH AND GRAB
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

You automatically change characters to Michael, who is now infiltrating the
building. Since everyone in the building is sleeping because of the gas, you
are free to smash all of the counters and take the jewels. If you got a good
hacker, you'll have more than enough time to completely clean the place out.

Stand next to a counter and press the appropriate button to smash it and take
the jewels. You will see how much money you've gotten on the lower-right hand
corner of the screen. Your crew will also do some smashing and grabbing, so
don't try to smash a counter that they've already looted!

If you loot all of the counters, Michael indicates that you did so. You
should try to smash the counters around the register first, as those seems to
be counters that your crew neglects. When you've smashed all the registers,
or your time is up, leave the store and get on the bike.

\/ MAKE YOUR GETAWAY
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

You control Franklin now, which means that you can use his special ability to
slow time while driving. This is particular useful in this chase, where you
need to make some tight turns and some quick decisions. If you hired the
better getaway man, you'll have relatively fast bikes and an easy route.

Follow your crew as they make their way through the city. When they make a
sharp turn or you are about to run into something, use your special ability
to slow time and realign yourself. Soon you'll be on a bridge over a highway
and you'll have to drive through the open barricade to the highway itself.
From here, you must drive into the tunnel ahead of you.

The path is fairly linear in the tunnel. You'll go inside a circular tunnel
and then the path will split in two (but it makes no difference which you
choose). When you reach the tracks, go up the ramps and start following your
fellow crew member.

Continue following him and listen to his directions - he knows where he's
going. When you reach the end of the tunnel, things didn't turn out like you
all had hoped. The police are waiting at the end of the tunnel! Thankfully,
Michael's here with his indestructible vehicle.

You have control of Michael's vehicle. Your objective here is to bash into
all of the cop cars to put them out of commission. They are not as resilient
as normal and they can be stopped with just a big bash into them. You will
have to do this for a few waves, but it should not be all that difficult.
Note that if you have a red dot far back, it doesn't matter as you have
wasted the car enough so it's not following you.

When you've lost the police, drive the vehicle back to Lester. After the
cutscene, you'll get the statistics for how much money you earned and how you
did on the heist overall. Note that if any of the crew members die, they lose
their cut. :)

The next scene is Franklin in a strip club. Exit the strip club and get in
Franklin's white car parked outside. Make a waypoint on the map for Michael's
icon and drive to him.

After the two key cutscenes, you control Trevor now. Finally! Finally we get
to control a *complete* psychopath and not a Tommy Vercetti or CJ! :) Get in
the red truck on the other side of the road and drive to your destination,
Grapeseed. When you get there, Trevor pisses off some bikers and they get in
their van and run away.

\/ CHASE THE VAN
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Pursue them in your truck. This might seem counterintuitive, but don't shoot
at the van. What you need to do is follow the van to the biker's hangout. The
two bikers on motorcycles are fair game, though. At any rate, the chase of
the van is rather easy. At one point, you have the option to jump a canyon
instead of going over a bridge. You don't need *that* much speed to do it,
and if you do you get a stunt jump.

Continue following the van until you reach the hangout. Get out of the truck
and take cover behind the trailer. You're made aware of Trevor's special
ability, and it can come in handy here. Either way, it's safest to use cover
to take out the bikers.

\/ CLEAR THE BIKERS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This can be a difficult battle if you give in to Trevor's bravado and try to
go all Rambo on them. Some of these bikers have Assault Rifles that can kill
you pretty quickly if you stay out in the open. There are several flame
barrels around the property that you can fire at to burn people who are in
cover.

For the most part, stick between a few cover positions while you take them
down. If you fall below 25% health, stay in cover so it regenerates to 50%.
If you are low and want to get back to full health, there is a toilet in the
center of the area that has a health pack on top of it.

Stick to the walls and fire away. Use your Pistol instead of your shotgun if
you want to be more accurate at longer range. There are around three waves of
bikers, and some try to do some interesting things, like drive a truck over
to you to get slaughtered, or drive a bike over to you to get slaughtered.

After you've killed seemingly dozens of tweekers, Trevor indicates that we're
done here (even though you might have not killed everyone in the current
wave) and tells the crew to get back in the truck. Drive the truck to the
riverside trailer and then, yes, drive the truck *into* the riverside
trailer.

Push the trailer down into the river and "threaten" (or kill) the guy in it.
After that, drive all the way to Ron's place - the mission ends after you
drop him off. You now have access to Ron's safehouse (read: trailer) and you
can free roam a bit if you want. You can't switch back to Michael or Franklin
for now: the game tells you that they are lying low after the jewelry heist.

Head over to the "?" to do a Strangers and Freaks mission.

Ain't the internet a beautiful thing? Add me on Lifeinvaders! And the head
guy, high as a kite? Classic! Anyway, drive to the meth lab - along the way,
Trevor calls Chef and it seems Ortega's men want some payback. When you get
to the lab, Trevor stashes his guests in the storage for safe keeping, then
heads into the house to fend off Ortega's men.

\/ TAKE OUT ORTEGA'S MEN
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This is much easier than the biker mission. You have the high ground and an
automatic weapon with a ton of ammo. Use the window as cover while you take
down Ortega's men below. They come in cars, and you can additionally fire at
the cars to blow them up.

More men arrive at the gate. Switch to the other corner of the house and fire
down at them. Again, you have the high ground and a great weapon, so they
shouldn't be a problem. If you take too long, they might get up the stairs to
the house - if this happens, aid Chef while you two take down the invaders.

Follow Chef to the roof on the opposite end of the building and take down the
men who drive in. Chef hands you a stickybomb launcher - ala Team Fortress 2
- and you can use it to blow up the cars and the enemies inside. It makes
this fight much easier, but you shouldn't have much trouble using your gun to
kill them, either. Again, use cover and high ground to your advantage - the
air condition unit on the roof makes for great cover.

After clearing the waves while you are on the rooftop, Chef states that
they're trying to infiltrate the store now. Follow Chef downstairs to the
store and take cover behind the counter. For this fight, it's better to use
blind fire from cover than to pop up and try to shoot at them. They blob up
quite nicely at the door, so you shouldn't have much trouble. In my game,
some of the enemies glitched if I killed them while they were in the doorway
- they got knocked upward instead of backward. Kill them as they enter the
store and put a priority on the enemies that get inside. Use the counter as
cover - it should make you practically invulnerable.

You'll cause them to flee after you've killed most of them, and the threat
will be eliminated. Before you check on your guests in the "storage" you
should walk around and pick up all the guns and cash that the enemies
dropped. There is a lot of guns and money to be had here, so don't miss out
and go straight to the ice box.

The mission ends after you get them out of the ice box. Your body count makes
a difference for the score here.

Head to the "?" (question mark) on the map for your next mission.

Trevor gets in a fight with some "rednecks" and you have a classic rampage
mission in which you must kill at least 25 rednecks during the allotted time
period. They drive from all sides and have guns, so it's best to find cover
somewhere that's boxed in a few sides. There is a house in front of you with
a patio and a screen that makes good cover.

Shoot down the rednecks as they drive in to you. They love to bunch up around
the house and they make really easy targets. Do not worry about the kill
count if you get below 25% health; stay in cover until your health
regenerates before you continue your killing spree.

You get a better score if you kill 45+ enemies, destroy 2 vehicles, and get 3
headshots. The enemy goal is just sheer rampage and the 2 vehicles should be
easy if you fire at the trucks as they drive in. For the 3 headshots, you
might consider not auto-locking onto a few targets, and instead aiming at
head-height when they are in a blob.

Drive back to your safehouse ("T" on the map) for the next mission.

Trevor's really mad now: they've wasted his manufactured home and he hasn't
gotten any info on Michael. After the cutscene, get on the ATV parked outside
the house and drive over to Ammu-Nation. The door to the store is red and
kinda blends in. In the store, you get the sniper rifle for free. Upgrade the
scope and suppressor after you select the sniper rifle.

Now that you have the proper weapon for this mission, hop back on your ATV
and drive over to Ron at the water tower. Climb up both ladders to reach the
very top of the tower. Ron rides on the ATV to the air strip - your job, as
you might expect, is to cover him by killing all of the patrolling bikers.

\/ SNIPE THE BIKER GUARDS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Ron does a good job directing you on who to kill. You have a good amount of
time to kill each of the target that Ron calls out, despite him saying that
you need to hurry hurry hurry. If you have trouble seeing the enemies because
it is night, you can use the red dots on your mini-map to get the general
location of all of them.

You need to take out the guards at the bottom of the tower, the two lights
above him, the lone guy in the van, and the enemy that comes out of the top
of the tower. You must put your sights on Ron again (Trevor's dialogue here
is hilarious) and then get back to killing.

There is a guy on the far side of the building (use your mini-map). Right
after you kill him, another enemy comes out, so just keep your sights around
there to kill the second guy quickly. Ron comes to their position and starts
to rig the white tank.

While he's working, another biker drives in and stops at the far right side.
He'll get off his bike and start creeping over to Ron; he has a flashlight,
though, and this makes him easy to spot and kill. After that, a frickin'
chopper shows up. Wait for the OK from Ron before you try to shoot the pilot.
You merely need to wait for the helicopter to get steady before you shoot the
pilot, who is an easy target that practically begs you to shoot him.

\/ CLEAR THE ENEMIES
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The plan of pretending that the chopper just crashed does not work, and you
will have alerted the area that you're on the attack. Drive over to the watch
tower and take cover behind the white planks next to it. From this cover
position, take down the enemies that try to hide behind the broken bus.

When you've cleared the area, head inside the hangar to the plane. The
entrance is on the far side of where you were shooting from the water tower.
Trevor gets on a wing of the plane, and now we must fire at all of the
enemies while Ron drives the plane around the runway.

Just HOLD DOWN the fire button the entire time as you don't need to reload
here. Detonate the explosives when prompted, and get ready for the two black
vans that show up. There are A LOT of men in both of them (some in the back
of the van, too) and the best strategy is to fire at the VAN to blow up all
the enemies. Even if they get out of the van, they will still get killed if
they are close to it.

\/ FLY LIKE AN EAGLE, BUT NOT INTO THE SEA!
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

After you've cleared the area, Trevor gets his own plane to fly. You now have
to get accustomed to the plane controls. For now, forget the enemy on the
wing and accelerate. When you've gotten some speed, lift off and into the
air.

When you get high enough so you don't crash, flip the plane around to drop
your enemy passenger. Afterward, follow Ron as he flies to your destination.
You can fly higher than him if you want; it's better than crashing into
something stupid like a mountain. You get a better score if you fly under all
of the bridges, however.

Follow Ron's plan to the dropoff point. When he says to fly low, you don't
have to fly EXTREMELY low, just a little lower than he's flying. Soon, you'll
reach the blue area on the map, which is where you need to drop off the
cargo. Press X/A to drop it off.

After that, it's a race back to the airstrip. Well, it's not much of a race,
because Trevor threatens to kill Ron if he gets there first. Initially,
follow Ron so you don't accidentally fly into the fort. Afterward, fly back
to the yellow dot on the map, and stay low (but not too low!) when Ron tells
you to do so. You don't need to fly as low the trees!

\/ LANDING, OR HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE GROUND
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Now you might be asking: "how do I land this blasted thing?" Well, the game
(and me!) are here to help. It's not that difficult, actually. When the game
prompts you, press the appropriate button to zoom in on the airstrip. From
here, start to lower your speed (but not too much!) and even out with the
land.

You should try to land as close to the beginning of the airstrip as possible,
because you fail the mission if you are landed and run into something ahead
of the airstrip. You must press the left stick button to open the landing
wheels, and then stick the landing.

If you are having trouble, I think you can "skip" the mission if you keep
dying. It's not that difficult, though, if you slow down before and land as
close to the beginning of the airstrip as possible. When you've landed, you
need to taxi the plane to the hangar. This is pretty simple, but note that
you need to press the shoulder buttons to turn the plane.

When you complete this mission, you will unlock the ability to buy property.
This is important if you want a good cash flow. For what? The strip club,
obviously! This is GTA after all!

Drive over to the "C" on the map to start the next mission. It seems that the
O'Neil brothers have cut into your business, and so you need to go teach them
a lesson. Drive over to the farm; on the way there, one of the O'Neils tries
to reason with Trevor, but he'll have none of it.

\/ CLEAR THE GUARDS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

When you get to your destination, get out of your vehicle and run over to the
vantage point. After the cutscene, get out your sniper rifle and start
thinning the herd. There are several guards in the house off to the distance,
but the red dots on the map should tell you where each of them are and
basically how to go about killing them.

First, the guards on the driveway shooting beer bottles must be taken out
together. After you kill one, quickly cycle to the other and take him out.
Once you've taken them out, start on the enemies outside the house. There are
two pairs of enemies on the balcony floor, so take them out in quick
succession so you don't have a runner alert the whole place.

After you've taken out the guards that are standing outside, more guards walk
out of the house to the white van. Take the three of them out quickly. Wait
for them to bunch up by the van before you start shooting. From there, you
generally need to continue your sniper spree from the vantage point. Use your
scope to find any new enemies hiding around before you move in.

\/ CLEAR THE HOUSE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

When you get to the house, you will still need to clear enemies inside. It's
best to stay outside and use the van or fences as cover while you take out
the enemies through the windows. You can also back out a bit and get out your
sniper rifle again.

It takes quite a while, but when you've gotten most of the enemies, switch to
your shotgun and head inside the house. Slowly go from room to room while you
clear the enemies and collect the ammo and guns that they dropped. When
you've cleared the house, head to the left end with the long room. At the end
of the room, you'll find a door and stairs that lead to the basement. Kill
the enemy that is unsuccessfully trying to reason with Trevor, then pick up
the gasoline can.

\/ POUR A GASOLINE TRAIL
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

With the gasoline canister equipped, hold the fire button and follow the
dotted yellow trail on the map. Just hold down the button; you should have
more than enough gas by the time you reach the end. Try to follow the trail
closely and do not stop pouring the gas for any reason.

When you've gotten to the end, the objective switches to shooting the
gasoline trail. Get out your trusty pistol and do the honors. After the cool
slo-mo cutscene, get on the ATV and drive off to complete the mission. You
get a better score if you shoot two guys with one bullet (easy with the
guards on the upper floor talking to each other) and if you get headshots
(easy with the sniper rifle).

Head back to Trevor's safehouse for the next mission.

We're finally off to Los Santos with Trevor! Yay! First, we need to drive
over to the trailer park where you killed all those bikers way back when.
It's pretty far away, so get a fast car. When you get there, you'll see that
the bikers are still mad at you, but that they are unaware of your presence.

Your job is to plant sticky bombs all around the area. You do *not* need ammo
for the stickybomb launcher, so don't go back to Ammu-Nation or anything.
That is, when you first get out of the car, you will get some sticky bombs
and be prompted to switch to them in the weapon menu.

\/ PLANT THE STICKY BOMBS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Despite the fact you have a pistol with a silencer, it's best not to kill
anyone during the first part of this mission. You can easily walk around the
trailer park and plant the bombs. If you come close to any patrolling bikers,
they will show up on the map and you just need to stay out of their line of
sight to not be caught.

Also, the game tells you that you must be near the trailer, but you can
actually throw the sticky bombs from a surprisingly long distance away. You
should start by going around the left side and tagging all of the marks. You
can hop the chain-link fence to stay out of sight, too.

For the other side, you just have to stay on the perimeter of the property so
the bikers don't see you. For the middle trailer, you can actually throw a
sticky bomb from the road and it will register as planted if you have a good
aim. You have a lot of sticky bombs so it doesn't matter if you waste a few.

When you've set up all the sticky bombs, detonate the bombs and watch the
fireworks. In the frantic terror that follows, run to your car to finish this
part of the mission.

\/ GO TO LOS SANTOS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

It's a long ride south, so I recommend you find a fast car if you're not in
one right now. There aren't many decent cars in the desert, though, so you're
truck might just have to do. The drive is long, but Trevor fills it up with
stories and you get to play car games!

Anyway, when you reach the city lights, you should consider stealing a better
car because you should start seeing normal cars now. At the yellow mark, park
the car and walk up the slope to the yellow circle. After Trevor's monologue,
get back in the car and drive to Wade's cousin's apartment, which is clearly
denoted on the mini-map. Wade even gives you directions when you start to get
close to the apartment.

Walk up the stairs and after the cutscene you'll pass the mission. You get
the full score if you got in some headshots while you were planting the bomb.
You unlock Floyd's apartment as a safehouse and you can now switch between
all three characters!

To continue the story, head over to Michael's house as Trevor.

After the awkward reunion, you have to save little Tracey from an almost-
familiar television show. It might seem like overkill, but Trevor decides to
go along with Michael for the mission. Get in the car and drive to the Maze
Bank Arena. It's the big stadium on the other side of town that you've
probably seen before.

Park in the yellow circle and walk inside the arena itself. After the
hilarious cutscene in which Ryan Seacrest--I mean Lazlow-- tries to hump up
on Tracey, Michael gets him off and Trevor bashes a security guard in the
head with a folding chair. Just like old times, I see.

Follow Michael as he runs back upstairs after Lazlow, who escapes in a red
car. Hijack the semi-truck and detach the back of it so you can go faster.
Afterward, pursue Lazlow in the semi. He makes a few sharp turns, but you
don't really have to stay close to pass the mission. He'll go on some train
tracks and back on the road. Continue following him until he goes down into
the river canyon. His car will run out of power then, and you are free to
stop and get outside of the semi.

After the hilarious cutscene, you will have passed the mission. You now
control Michael, which is who we need to continue the story. Grab a car and
head to the "B" on the map - the Federal Investigation Bureau. It's in the
observatory, and you drive up the mountain if you find yourself on the wrong
side. You can park in the lawn if you want; the guy you need to see is on a
balcony that circles around the observatory.

After the cutscene, you'll end up in a body bag at the coronary's office.
Seriously. You can move your head, though, and if you press X/A, Michael will
wake up and strangle one of the coroners. After the ensuing cutscene, sneak
up behind the cop and do a stealth takedown on him.

Grab his weapon and check both of the bodies in this room. The second body is
your man - or woman, I should say. Michael calls it in, but it seems we don't
have a get-out-of-jail-free-card even though we're friend with this fed. Take
down the security guard that runs to the room and head down the hallway.

\/ ESCAPE FROM THE BUILDING
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Use the FIRST corner you see as cover. There is an enemy hiding on the corner
down the hall. If you can see his leg, blast that; if not, wait until he
comes out before you shoot him. Go down to the corner and take cover behind
this corner now. There will be enemies that come down the hall and also an
enemy in the adjacent room.

The enemy in the room takes priority because he can actually shoot at you.
The two guys that come running down the hall, however, have armor and hit
hard, so watch out for them and slow time with Michael's special ability if
you get in trouble.

Continue down the hall and kill the man hiding behind the wooden counter. You
can use the pillar by the wall as cover. Move up a little and take cover
behind the front of the counter as you take down the guys at the end of the
hall.

Move to the end of the hall and shoot through the glass windows at the guard
in the room to the right. Continue through the double-doors and kill the
enemy that comes out of the elevator. Unfortunately, the place is locked down
and you can't use the elevator, so you must take the stairs.

The stairs are right next to the elevator. When you ascend to the top, an
enemy pops out of the door - you can accidentally shoot at the rail, so make
sure you have a clear shot. Out into the hall on this floor, kill the enemies
that come out of the door across from you.

You get a text stating that you can find your weapons in a black bag on the
top floor. Head through the door opposite the stairs to reach another set of
stairs. Head up the first flight and turn around with your aim on. Let the
guy run down the stairs and get past the railing before you start to fire at
him.

Ascend to the top floor. The window is to the right, but I suggest going left
and running down to the two vending machines. The enemies on this level have
a lot of trouble dealing with you here (amazingly). Fire at them as they come
out into the hall, and take down the two enemies that come from the stairs.
Once you've cleared them, walk toward the window (yellow dot) and kill the
enemy that comes out of the door on the left. Use your special to slow time
if you want to make it a little easier.

With the whole building clear, you can safely get your weapons before you
break open the window to leave. Outside, hijack the fast car parked in front
of you and lose the cops. This is just a normal three star wanted level, so
drive fast to get out of their line of sight, then cruise around dodging cop
triangles on the map until you're clear.

Michael calls Franklin to meet at the oil derricks. Once you drive there,
Michael fills in Franklin on everything. And by everything, I mean
practically... everything.

As Michael, drive to the "M" icon on the map for the next mission.

This is a pretty funny mission. Amanda's Yoga Instructor gets Michael to try
out Yoga. For the Yoga tasks, you must hold down both the joysticks in the
indicated location and hold/release both of the shoulder buttons to breathe.
It's all very basic and you don't have to be quick about it. If you fail, you
just start that one pose over again, and not the whole thing. Just remember
to hold both joysticks in *some* location at all time; you fail if you let go
of them at any time.

These are actually Yoga poses in real life, by the way! At any rate, Michael
doesn't like the way the Yoga Instructor is getting up in his wife's grill,
and he has a scuffle which ends with Michael swimming in the pool. Your next
task is to head to Jimmy's room.

\/ TAKE A TRIP, NO REALLY!
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

After prying Jimmy away from the latest Call of Duty installment, head back
downstairs and get into the car. Drive to the Burger Shot and watch the funny
drug deal. Afterward, head back home. Only, Jimmy lets Michael have some of
his drink... and things start to get weird. Really weird.

Just continue to drive through the drug-induced mayhem. After a little while,
Jimmy pushes Michael out of the car and Michael's left in real lala land.
Seriously, this guy's trippin' like balls man. Hallucinations to the next
level. After he gets abducted by aliens (yes, really), you have some control
while he skydives to the ground, but it doesn't make a difference what you do
in the dive. (If I had to guess, this was a very high dosage of LSD aka
"acid" that his son gave him.)

After the fall, Michael vomits and your screen sobers up. Grab a car in the
parking lot near you and drive back home. Read the letter in the kitchen to
complete the mission. You get a better score if you do all the poses
correctly on the first try.

You'll get a few calls/texts from your family members. It seems Jimmy has
taken your car, so grab another. Once you've got wheels, head to the "B"
(FBI) on the map.

After the cutscene, walk with Dave to his car and drive to the meeting point.
You meet both Trevor and Franklin there, and after things get straightened
away, you control a helicopter with Trevor. The controls on the helicopter
are pretty similar to the plane mission. Just fly to the yellow dot on the
map without crashing into any buildings.

When you get to the building, you'll need to accelerate so you're over it,
then fly to the edge of the building to drop Michael off. As Michael, rappel
downward and switch to the movie cam when prompted. After the little
interrogation scene, smash the window open.

From there, you'll need to switch to Franklin to give Michael some backup. As
Franklin, zoom in on the sniper rifle and snipe out all of the enemies in the
room. They'll try to duck and cover but they should still be visible. After
clearing them, switch back to Michael when you are prompted and use your
pistol to take out any remaining enemies on the floor.

With the room clear, a cutscene occurs in which Michael get back on the
helicopter. Unfortunately, you've got enemy helicopters to deal with now.
Switch back to Franklin and take out the chopper that's flying to him. The
pilot gives you a nice, clear shot when he idles in the air.

When you've killed the pilot and downed the first chopper, switch back to
Michael and machine gun the other choppers. (Franklin cannot touch the other
choppers because they are going too fast.) As Michael, you'll have a side
view of the chopper. Just hold down the trigger button as you aim at the
helicopters to blow them up or knock them out of the air.

After clearing the sky of the choppers, you can just enjoy the ride back to
base as Michael. That is to say, you don't need to fly the helicopter and you
can just sit back and relax as computer-Trevor lands the plane. After the
cutscene, the mission ends; you get a better score for headshots, accuracy,
and time, as per the usual.

With the Michael story missions on hold for now, switch to Franklin, who we
haven't played in quite a while. Head back to his house (the "F" on the map)
for the next mission.

After the hilarious cutscene, drive over to Grove Street (a very familiar
name:). Get out of the car and watch the drug deal gone bad. Thankfully, we
brought along Trevor for the ride. He's a much better killing machine than
Franklin, so switch to him, put on his special, and massacre the Grove Street
population.

You can also use your Sniper Rifle with Franklin and snipe them out from a
distance. Just be mindful of the character panel in the bottom-right corner
of the screen; when it flashes red, you need to switch to the other
character.

This is a really long firefight and there are a few BIG waves. They both
drive in and come out of houses. It's best to move up SLOWLY while you take
them down. The best strategy that I found was to control Franklin at first -
snipe some people out - and then Trevor flashes red, switch to him and
destroy everyone. He should be behind a trash bin, and that's good enough
cover to clear the entire area.

When the police arrive, follow Lamar as he goes down to the river -- err,
sewer. You'll steal the three ski boats and be off and running. It's advised
to switch back to Franklin now because he's better at handling vehicles than
Trevor.

Just follow Lamar as you all ride through the sewer system. Don't try to
shoot at the car following you on the side, as it will eventually run into a
wall. When you reach a large opening with a shipyard on the right, Lamar
tells you all to split up.

Even though you probably have a chopper right in front of you, this is
actually pretty easy. I went out to open sea - far, far out - and the chopper
didn't follow me. From there, it's just dodging police boats, which is fairly
easy with your speedophile. After you've lost the police, the mission ends.
You get a better score for accuracy and headshots.

As Franklin, go to the "T" next to his safehouse. It's actually Tonya and not
Trevor.

This mission plays *exactly* the same as the first tow truck mission: get the
tow truck and tow the vehicle back to the lot. There is absolutely no
difference except it's a little farther. Although it might seem like you may
have some confrontation because you are not towing an abandoned car, there is
absolutely no confrontation whatsoever. The general gist of the mission:

 1. Grab a car, wait for Tonya to get in, and drive to the lot
 2. Get in the tow truck, wait for Tonya to get in, drive to the destination
 3. Back in to hook the car and take it back to the lot

That's it. You get a better score if you do it really fast.

Lester calls and has a mission for Franklin. Head over to the pier ("L") to

Lester fills in Franklin on the details at the pier. It seems you need to
assassinate some guy trying to manipulate the Viagra market. At any rate,
drive to the hotel. Lester said that we can use either sticky bombs or the
sniper rifle. I personally prefer the latter, but the former shouldn't be any
difficult, either.

Note that you need to buy sticky bombs if you want to complete the mission
that way. I assume you just run over to the car, stealthily plant a bomb, and
run back, but it might take a little more stealth and finesse.

At any rate, the destination is the parking garage across from the hotel. You
have a minute and a half to get set up. If you're doing sticky bombs, you'll
need to plant them, and if you're sniping, you can just wait the time out.

The target is the guy in the RED SHIRT. You can't miss him. Well, you *can*
miss him, but you shouldn't really. It's best to wait until he's just sat in
the car before you snipe him; he might be a little more difficult to shoot
while he's walking to the car.

After you've done the assassination, you'll need to shake off your two star
wanted level. Just drive out of the parking garage, get on a long road with
no cops, and evade the cops that spawn around the area. You pass the mission
when you've evaded the cops. You get a perfect score if you snipe the target
down.

After the mission, Lester calls and tells you that he bought a house for you.
An actual house, without your aunt and everything!

Your celebration is short-lived, as Tonya calls and needs help again...

Yes, another tow truck mission. It's not *exactly* the same, though. Zoom
over to the lot and drive the tow truck to the break-down. You have a time
limit when you get close, because a train is about to come and smash the car.
The quickest way to tow it is to go past it and back up into it. This way,
you don't have to worry about making a U-turn.

When you have the car safely out of the tracks, wait for the car owner to
enter the tow truck and drive to the auto repair shop. It's a fairly self-
explanatory drive, but in the end you need to drop the car off at the drop
zone and *not* go into the garage.

After completing this mission, head to Lester (the "L" on the map) as
Franklin again.

Answer the phone at the gas station to get the details from Lester. You need
to kill four corrupt juror members in just nine minutes. Get a fast car and
race to the first target, a bodybuilder on the beach. It really helps to
choose a fast car for this mission.

As far as the bodybuilder, you can just stop the car a block away and snipe
him out. He leans on the blue fence and makes an easy target. After killing
him, hurry to the next target. He's on the opposite side of town on his yacht
getting a lap dance. Park in the parking lot and snipe him out from there.
Remember, it's the guy you want to kill, not the stripper!

Hop back in your car and drive to the opposite end of town. This target
confused the hell out of me at first because I could not find out where he
was at or how to shoot him. However, after walking around enough, I realized
that there is a yellow construction tower across from the target with a very
long ladder. Climb up and take out the target, who is currently on a window
rafter most of the way up the tallest building.

After that, slide back down and hop back in your car. Follow the curvy road
out to the hills and take out the last target. He always seems to hop on his
bike and speed away when you get there, so just pursue him and either drive
him off the road or shoot him while driving in your car. Or both, really.

When you've assassinated the last target, the mission ends. Your score is
mostly dependent on the time it took you to complete the mission. *Note that
if you die during this mission, you start after your last assassination, so
don't ragequit and turn off the console if you get lost or something.

Not too long after you complete the mission, Tonya calls again...

Get to the car and tow it. Jeez. Again? Well, you're waaay out in the middle
of nowhere from the assassination mission, so make your way as fast as you
can ALL THE WAY back to the tow truck yard. Get in the tow truck and
basically head back to where you were... a long, long way off. You have a
time limit to get there, but you should not have any problems if you just
take the route given to you on the mini-map.

When you get there, hook the care and listen to the angry customer go on and
on about his complaints not getting any views. Your drive back to the auto
repair shop is straight - just stay on the same road all of the way to the
shop - but you might have trouble unhooking it in the right place. This is
because the yellow circle is pretty close to the building and you can't just
drive alongside. Instead, you should just ram the tow truck into the corner
and unhook the car when it gets into the yellow circle - it's messy, but it
will get the job done fast.

You have now completed all of Franklin's missions, so hop back onto Trevor
and drive around for a little bit until someone calls. It's another mission!

When you start to drive to the destination, the game flashes a character
switch to Michael. Do this and you'll all automatically be there without all
that driving fuss! After the cutscene, get in Dave's car and drive to the
house all the way on the other side of town.

After arriving, Dave calls and states that this isn't the house we're looking
for. You then control Trevor, who is the main surgeon in the torture room.
You get to choose which weapon you'd like to use to torture him, but you
can't kill him. I used the pliers first to take out one of his teeth - to do
this, you need to hold the right trigger and repeatedly rotate the right
stick. He talks after that, and Michael has a new place to drive.

\/ SO WHO DO I KILL AGAIN?
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

When you get there, Michael and Dave need information on what the guy looks
like. Back to Trevor, you have your choice of torture device again. I chose
the wrench, but he only said that he was of "average height, average build."
Back at Michael, zoom in and you'll see a party in the building - and
absolutely no one that fits the vague description.

\/ TORTURE, THE FINEST FORM OF TREVOR
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Back at Trevor, you need to do some more torturing to get the information out
of him. In my playthrough, I was a little mad at him after that "average
build" baloney, so I went straight to the electricity. Press X/A to spark
them, then press both shoulder buttons to give him the shock of a lifetime.
He finally spills out that the guy has a bushy beard, but is that enough to
go on?

It's not, and you need to torture for one last time. Because I'm a
completionist, I decided to go with the bucket of gas - the last torture tool
in Trevor's arsenal. He goes down for a second, but Trevor injects him back
to life and you get more information: he's left-handed and chain smokes
cigarettes.

This is actually enough to go on: there is a guy in the bottom-right part of
the party that fits the build. He's in a red shirt, chain smoking on the
balcony with his left hand. He's the correct guy, so snipe him down. The head
or the body will do.

\/ TREVOR THE MERCIFUL
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Afterward, we have a cutscene and Trevor seems to have some humanity left in
him. We need to drive the guy that Trevor just tortured to the airport. Drive
there to end the mission.

Now that we've done this mission, hop on Trevor and head to the "T" on the
map, which is the apartment where he is staying. In the apartment, you'll
catch two people arguing about Trevor.

It's a fairly long drive to the port. When you get there, head through the
gate and park next to the dispatch. Follow Floyd as he takes you through the
port and points things out.

\/ HANDLING THE HANDLER
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Soon, you'll reach a boss that wants you to get on a handler. Your drop is to
do the driving. The Handler is very slow, but it has a decent turning radius
and you don't need to be that fast for this job. Drive over to the containers
- they are the rectangular blue ones.

Position yourself to the side of one of the containers and have the crane so
it is above the containers. Move in to a container and attach it on with the
attach button. Hoist it up and drive over to the loading area. It's basically
the same area, but empty. Drop it off on the far side and repeat the process
once more.

\/ CRANING THE CRANE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

After that, get off the Handler and run over to the crane. Climb the small
ladder behind it, and ascend the stairs to reach the top of the crane. The
guy up top thinks you're permitted to use cranes, and doesn't care if you
aren't. Hop up to his level and then take the ladder down to the crane
controls.

Crane operation is similar to Handler operation except you have two camera
angles. You can press select to change between cameras; the overhead camera
is used to attach the crate and the third person camera is used to move the
whole crane.

First, line up the crane so it is over the crate. Afterward, bring it down
and attach it. Lift it back up so it clears the crates behind it and then
switch the camera to the third person mode. From here, drive the crane
backwards to the dropoff point behind you. Lower the crate and drop it in the
outlined location. Repeat the process and you're done.

\/ GET A PHOTOGRAPH, PICTURE OF...
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Afterward, climb up the small ladder and walk on the crane catwalk that has
the yellow circle. Get out your camera and take a picture of: (a) the front
of the ship, (b) any guard, and (c) the back of the ship. You can't really
mess up on taking the shots.

When you've gotten all the pictures, send them to Ron (you have to move down
in the Contacts list to his name; the game does not automatically do it) and
get back down to the ground via all the ladders and stairs. Afterward, get in
the semi with Floyd and drive to the next pier. *Note that the gate will open
for you when you get close to it.

The drive to the other pier is rather short, but you might have to cut off
some other semis on the way there. When you arrive, head into the hangar and
up to the gate. After the cruel and funny cutscene, run back out of the
hangar and head back to Floyd's apartment. You can use the dirt truck out
front to get you to the highway.

When you get back to the apartment, Trevor draws up the plans and you have a
choice of two plans: (a) Freighter or (b) Offshore. I chose Offshore because
it sounded more complex - freighter sounds like a blow up and grab thing.
Either way, this guide will only cover Offshore for now. I'd think, though,
that Freighter plays out similarly.

You'll complete the mission after the plan cutscene. Time is not a factor,
but the quality of your mini-game work is definitely the winning ingredient.
Before you can actually do the heist, you need to bring Michael to flight
school.

"Learning to Fly" - Pink Floyd

Flight School is on the far side of town. Use your map to cycle to it. When
you get there, you'll need to complete a series of tests to become a full
blown maverick. Here are all of the lessons:

button) and fly through both of the checkpoints. You should get a Gold Medal
on your first try.

\/ RUNWAY LANDING
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

When you see the title of this lesson, you might get horrible thoughts from
that mission with Trevor where you had to land the plane. Well, this is MUCH
easier. For this lesson, you should *not* press the accelerate button at all
while you are in the air. Instead, glide over to the runway and put out your
landing gear. You will land somewhat away from the marker, but that's fine;
you can accelerate on the ground to the marker quick enough. After the first
marker, you need to *STOP* the plane at the second marker, which means brake
before you get to the marker. My first time I thought I just had to go
through it and so I didn't get a gold until the second time.

\/ INVERTED FLYING
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

As you might guess by the 1:40 Gold Medal time, this lesson is a bit tougher.
Mostly, this mission gets longer if the game doesn't register your barrel
rolls or inverted flying. At any rate, start by lifting off and flying
through the first checkpoint. On the __instructor's mark__, do a barrel roll.
Remember, do his directions *on his mark* or it won't register. After you do
a simple barrel roll, he orders you to steady out and then do three barrel
rolls. The same thing applies here: wait for him to tell you that you've
steadied out *and* that you can do the barrel rolls. Finally, he asks for
inverted flying. First, you must level out. Then, you simply tilt the plane
upside down and keep it that way until the red bar on the side is full. It is
best to do this one high in the air. Also, wait until it registers with him
before you stop inverting, or he might not count it.

\/ KNIFE FIGHT
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The key to this lesson is to use your rudders to maintain altitude. Lift off
and fly through the first checkpoint. When the instructor gives his cue, fly
on the side. Again, use your rudders to maintain altitude so you don't crash.
When you've done one side, level out and do the other. Remember, he won't
start until you've leveled out first. After you do the other side, you must
level out again to stop the time and end the lesson.

\/ FLAT HATTING
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This lesson is actually much easier than you might expect. The first part of
the lesson is especially easy: just stay at low altitude while you hit each
of the checkpoints. Things start to get dicey halfway through when the
checkpoints go over a pier. You can, however, fly higher and then swoop down
and hit the checkpoints if you think you're going to crash. As the instructor
stated, using your rudders to turn is important here. It's still a fairly
straightforward lesson. *Note that you don't need to hit the checkpoints with
the very center of your plane; a wing can hit them and it will suffice.

\/ TOUCH DOWN
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Another lesson that has to do with landing; this time, emergency landing.
Thankfully, the game sets up the "emergency" for you, so all you have to do
is go down and land. The most important thing here is staying straight the
entire way through. Don't go left or right at all - just descend and slow
down to the bridge. If you touch down really straight, you'll have no problem
getting the needed distance for a gold.

\/ LOOP THE LOOP
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Despite the instructor's warning, this lesson is actually not very difficult.
All you need to do is hold the left stick down when he tells you to, and have
faith that you won't crash. ;) You should try to get some more altitude while
he's blabbering on about the trick. Remember to do the trick *on his mark* or
it will not register. You also need to steady out quickly. You will have to
do two inside loops, and then the instructor wants you to do a half inside
loop and a barrel roll to straighten out. This is exactly as it sounds; do a
half loop - use the red bar to gauge how far you've gone - and when you've
completed that, do a simple barrel roll to level out.

\/ HELICOPTER COURSE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This lesson absolutely infuriated me until I found out that you have to point
the helicopter down a little to get it moving fast. Once that happened, I had
no problem completing it. The lesson starts out very innocent - go through a
few checkpoint above ground - but then it has you going under bridges and
near power poles. The lesson actually lightens up a little when the
instructor states you're going in the city; just don't crash into any of the
buildings and remember to get higher for the checkpoint on top of the
building. From there, you have to speed through a few checkpoints and land
the helicopter. Landing the helicopter was slightly more difficult for me,
but the key is to not overshoot the landing pad and to go down slowly at
first. All in all, the biggest problem that you'll have here is not hitting
the landing pad.

\/ HELICOPTER SPEED RUN
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This lesson is actually easier than the last course. It's a sheer speed run
until about 3/4 of the way through when you have to navigate the helicopter
through bridge towers. You might want to go a little slower at the bridge.
Please note, though, that lightly hitting something won't end the lesson, and
that you can continue and successfully complete the lesson even if you nicked
a few things. The landing pad at the end is the exact same routine as the
previous lesson.

\/ SKYDIVING
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This lesson is a breeze. Jump out of the plane and free fall for most of the
time. Eventually, you'll see the yellow circle, which is where you need to
land. When you get close, pull your parachute to save your descent, and
slowly glide to the circle.

\/ DROP ZONE
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This lesson is exactly the same as the last, but now you need to land on a
moving target. Fortunately, it is a VERY slow moving truck. Skydive downward
and pull your chute at a good distance from the ground. Afterward, maneuver
the chute around as you descend to the truck. You might have to make a few
passes back and forth before you can land.

\/ EARN YOUR WINGS
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This is it! The last lesson! This one is actually a breeze compared to the
helicopter lessons. And no, in this lesson you DO NOT have to land! Yay!
Anyway, you basically need to follow the instructor's directions as you go
through each checkpoint. Through green checkpoints you have to do a "knife"
and through blue checkpoints you must be inverted. This might sound
difficult, but the knifes are usually in the direction you're going to need
to steer anyway, and the inversions are high in the air. As before, remember
that you do not need to go through the exact center of the checkpoint circle;
rather, you can hit it with your wing and you'll still get credit. The
instructor allows one or two messups I believe, so don't ragequit after just
one bad checkpoint.

After completing flight school, switch to Franklin and drive to the "T" on
the map - yep, it's Tonya again.

Hopefully this is truly the last time. Hopefully... anyway, it's your typical
tow truck mission. There's nothing out of ordinary about this one - even the
unhooking is easy. The hardest part of the mission is navigating the road
when you have the car attached, but you shouldn't have much of a problem
since you've done this a thousand times already.

As Franklin, head to the most southern green "?". It's Strangers and Freaks.
You might have done it already, but we're covering it now.

This is your basic street race. And by "basic," I mean really easy. The best
way to win is by preparation: get a fast car beforehand. Where do you get a
car? Those cars around Michael's neighborhood should be fast enough.

The race itself is a breeze - no hard turns, no much of turning at all, and
mostly straight roads with not many cars or things to run into. Just remember
to stay *on the road* or at least the sidewalk because you'll probably hit a
tree if you venture too far off. The riders actually *slow down* at points
for you to make the race even easier.

Drive over to the next Strangers and Freaks mission for Franklin. It's in the
center of the city near a clothing store.

This is a hilarious mission. You basically have to help a crazy paparazzi as
he takes pictures of a celebrity in a limo. Hop on the bike and get going!
All you have to do is ride alongside the limo and allow Beverly to snap
pictures. It's really quite simple. You can even bash into the limo a few
times, although Beverly gets annoyed when you do.

Soon one of Beverly's rivals swoops in and takes some pictures. Your task now
is to catch up to the rival on the bike so Beverly can smack him to the road.
Pursue him as you would anyone else, and drive alongside him for Beverly to
knock him down. You don't need to be alongside for very long before the deed
is done. After you've had a little picture mayhem, drop Beverly off at his
next stakeout to end the mission.

This is another hilarious hallucination mission. Whereas the marijuana had no
effect on Franklin, it pretty much levels Trevor. After he smokes Barry's
weed, Trevor starts tripping out almost as bad as Michael's LSD trip.
Apparently, Trevor has a weak spot: he's not too fond of clowns. ;)

For this battle, you need fight about four waves of clowns. They go down in
one hit, but they keep spawning if you don't destroy the vehicles, so make
the vehicles your priority. All in all, the key to victory is shooting at the
vehicles to make them explode and stop the spawning.

There are two vehicles on each side of the park. You might have more trouble
with the vehicles behind you during the last two waves because you have to
travel up far enough to hit them. Just remember to take cover behind the
walls around here and you should be fine. Remember, take out the vehicles
first and then the clowns. You can probably farm skill level ups here, but I
don't recommend it because of the disorientation of the area.

Switch to Michael and come back to Barry to do his Grass Roots mission.

It looks like Michael's a total lightweight, too. This mission is similar to
Trevor's mission, except Michael gets paranoid about Aliens. I guess the LSD
trip was not an isolated instance after all! These aliens can hurt you with
lasers and, if they get close enough, they will try to "abduct" you. If that
happens, just shake the left stick back and forth and they'll blow up.

You should find a nice corner for this mission and wait for the aliens to
come to you. This mission can be annoying if you stay out in the open. You
don't need to worry at all about the abductions because you always shake them
off. However, I'm pretty sure they can kill you with their lasers if you just
stand around and get hit.

They come from all sides and some aliens spawn on the upper rafters of the
area. Take out the aliens on higher ground first, as they automatically shoot
lasers as soon as they spawn. You complete the mission after fighting off a
few waves. A gold medal is easy here: just hold down the trigger and get a
good kill streak.

Now that we've gotten most of the optional missions complete, you should be
ready to get the heist equipment with Trevor.

Head to the north "H" on the map with Trevor. It's in the boonies where you
controlled Trevor when he was a meth-maker and bike-breaker. Specifically,
you'll be driving to Fort Zancudo, which you might remember as the no-fly
zone military base.

You need to simply go through the gate of the Fort to get inside. There is no
other entrance around the perimeter from as far as I can tell - I drove all
around it. It's a road called "Fort Zancudo Approach," you can't miss it. If
you don't have one, get a fast car for this part of the mission; any of those
sports cars driving around Michael's area should do.

Drive through the gate and you'll get a four star wanted level and one missed
off military. There are TANKS in this area that can blow you up, but they are
really slow and take time between each fire. You should just put the pedal to
the metal and outrun the tanks. I suppose you *might* also be able to hijack
one, but I haven't tried that.

The best way is to just speed over to the Cargobob and not initiate any
fights with the military. When you get to the helicopter, ignore the two men
right outside and hijack the chopper. Ascend really quickly and head back
toward Los Santos.

There will be another chopper that you need to lose, but once you go south
enough you'll automatically lose all your heat. With this in mind, do not
engage the other chopper - just fly south. When you're in the clear, fly over
to the airstrip and land in the marked location to complete the mission. A
fast time gets you the gold medal, and you'll definitely get it if you went
straight to the chopper after entering the fort.

For the other Offshore heist mission, you must acquire a minisub. It's at the
docks in south Los Santos.

At the docks, walk up the stairs to the ship that is holding the sub. You
will probably alert a guard, but you can use your suppressed pistol to kill
him. Even if he alerts the police, it takes a LONG time for them to show up,
and you only get a one star level.

The controls to drop the minisub are located on the building closest to it.
They're on the wall, and the game prompts you to release the sub when you get
close to the controls. After dropping the minisub, jump in the water and
climb on top of it.

Drive the minisub to the designated location. You can easily evade the police
and lose the heat if you simply submerge the sub. The port that you must
drive to (sail to? propel to?) is pretty far away, so take this opportunity
to accustom yourself to the minisub controls. It drives very similar to car,
but you are better off submerging it and not trying to keep it at sea level.

When you get to the extraction point, the minisub gets pulled up by a crane
and onto a semi-truck. You have to drive to the warehouse now, but it's not
very far away and you won't get tailed or anything.

Switch to Michael and you'll get another Federal Investigation Bureau mission
that you'll want to do quickly before the heist.

Trevor fills in Michael and Franklin on his submarine heist, and then you're
off to the airstrip. All. The. Way. Across. The. Map. You also need a four
seat vehicle, which means you're limited in what you can drive. Oh great! I
chose Trevor's classic red truck, but you might have found something better.

Drive to the airstrip - it's a long distance, and you can save some time if
you go offroad. When you get there, get on the Cargobob and ascend into the
air. Drop the hook and hover over the minisub to attach it to the Cargobob.
Head over to the test site, which is marked on the map.

When you get to the site, drop the minisub into the water and you'll
automatically be in control of Trevor. Submerge into the water and follow the
red dot on your phone. It's pretty far away from here, so just keep moving
until you come across a big canyon in the water.

From there, submerge to the floor and head over to the yellow dot. The device
that you need to get has a flashing red light - you've can't miss it. When
you find it, land on top of the device to latch it onto your minisub, then
ascend to the surface.

It doesn't matter where you surface - just surface and you'll switch back to
Michael. With Michael, you need to hover over the minisub and attach it to
the Cargobob. This might be difficult if you're not used to the chopper
controls - the key is to not descend too far. Also note that you only fail if
your chopper blades submerge into the water; if you just touch the water with
the bottom of the chopper, you will not fail the mission.

When you've got it attached, head back to the airstrip. Soon you'll encounter
the inevitable heat and have to switch to Franklin to fend them off. As
Franklin, your job is to fire at the helicopters and the boats. Don't worry
about any boats after you've destroyed the one on the water.

For the helicopters, the key is to aim at the pilot; when you've killed the
pilot, the helicopter is immediately not a threat anymore. Also, it is
important that you switch sides on the helicopter constantly - they come from
all sides and you can't just stay on one side and defeat them.

After you've destroyed the helicopter, you have to switch back to Michael and
fly the helicopter back to the airstrip. When you arrive, slowly descend
until you're a little above ground, then drop the minisub. You'll pass the
mission after the ensuing cutscene.

Switch to Franklin and hijack one of those sports cars that you always see
driving around his house. This is a fast car that will make a good getaway
vehicle. You want to stash the car in the area above the square pier in south
Los Santos. Pick an alley or a vacant piece of land. Exit the car and phone
Michael; choose the mark getaway option after selecting his name in the
Contacts list. After you've called him, you'll pass the mission.

Go to one of the "H" icons on the map (I chose the top-right) to find the
trash truck that you need for the FIB heist. The trash truck takes a lot of
stops, so just wait for it to stop at a house before you hijack it.
Unfortunately, your grand theft auto is called in, and you have to lose a two
star wanted level. You've been doing things like this the whole game - just
speed out of sight and cruise until you've lost them. Afterward, drive the
truck to the FIB lot to pass the mission. Mission Time, Undented, In the

You must simply buy three boiler suits at an Ammu-Nation. You should probably
use the character with the most money to buy them, but they aren't expensive
really. Just buy the top three boiler suits - it will make a note of which
one you bought for each character, but the only difference is color. They
cost $105 each.

I don't fully understand why we have to *steal* a tow truck after we did all
those missions for Tonya, but head on over to the "H" icon and hijack the tow

After the cutscene in which Michael explains the plan, get in the truck and
drive to Cypress Flats. When you arrive, Trevor tells you that the target is
approaching; from here, you have to position the truck so it is blocking the
road ahead of you. Drive the truck in so it extends from sidewalk to
sidewalk.

You switch to Franklin, who is in the tow truck down the alley. All you need
to do here is hold down the accelerate button to ram into the target. From
here, get out of the tow truck and plant the sticky bombs on the door in the
back of the van.

\/ MAKING WAVES, CLEARING WAVES
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Back up to Michael and detonate the bomb to blow open the door. Hold the two
men at gunpoint as Michael searches the van. Afterward, you'll have half of
the LSPD coming after you. Retreat toward the blue dot and switch to Trevor
for a second. As Trevor, use the rocket launcher to take out the cop cars -
you can take out more than one if you aim between the cars and use the splash
of the explosion.

The game prompts you to switch between characters when you've completed a
goal, so just keep killing until you have to switch. First, switch to Michael
and head to the alley behind you. You need to take out all the enemies in
this area - they like to hide behind the pillars and up on the rafters. After
you've cleared them, switch to Franklin and clear the cops on the road ahead
of you.

Now switch to Trevor and take out all the snipers on the rooftops. Michael
and Franklin tell you where they are at, but they don't explain very well.
The first is on the high roof to the left of you and all of the remaining are
on the low-ish building across from the road where you parked the garbage
truck and hit the van with the tow truck. One is to the left on the building,
the next is to the right, and the last one is on top of the higher floor.

Afterward, switch to Trevor and take down the helicopter with your rocket
launcher. The helicopter flies over and basically hovers in the same place,
making him a very easy target.

\/ GET-A-WAY!
/\¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Switch back to Franklin now and run to the truck. You now have to drive to
the getaway car, and I hope you did as I advised in the getaway car mission
and stashed it somewhere near here. If you did not stash it close, you'll
lose your one star wanted level after a little bit anyway, but you still need
to drive all the way to getaway car in a slow truck.

When you arrive at the getaway car, park the garbage truck away from the
getaway car! This is because you have to blow up the garbage truck when you
exit it. Use your grenades to blow it up quickly - you only need one grenade
to do the job. With the truck out of commission, get in the getaway car as
planned. Drive away and Franklin phones Michael.

After the call, we control Michael again. Drive down the road to Devin's
house and drive up to the gate. Michael drops off the package and Devin gives
him an offer he can't refuse - a date with his favorite movie star. Wait, who
is Solomon Richards? Head to the "S" on the map as Michael to find out. It's
in the movie studio that you drove through at the beginning of the game.

After the cutscene, grab a car and drive all the way to East Los Santos. Your
targets are about to fly away on a helicopter, but luckily one of them still
needs to get something inside the building. Your job is to get to that
helicopter without being noticed by anyone.

Climb over the chain-link fence in front of you and stealth to the ladder. Up
the ladder, knock out the guy blabbing on his cell phone. You can wait until
he finishes talking and starts to work on an air conditioning unit.
Afterward, climb the *left* ladder on the opposite side of the roof.

Hide behind the air conditioning unit while the enemy inspects it; or, you
can just knock him out right away. Even if he sees you, it still takes him
around five seconds to call Rocco anyway. You can easily knock him out in
that time period.

Hop on the big white air conditioning unit next to the wall and climb up to
the next story. Here, stealth and take down the enemy that comes out of the
door in front of you. Afterward, head up the stairs to finally reach the same
level as the helicopter.

After the cutscene, you have to beat Rocco in a fist fight. This fight is
exactly the same as Simeon at the beginning of the game; mash the punch
button and he'll be down in no time. With Rocco softened up, get in the
chopper and work on the actors.

For this part of the mission, you have to fly erratically to scare them. This
is really easy - just fly low to the ground and around buildings. Soon,
they'll change their tune, and you now have to fly back to the studio. When
you get there, park in the marked location. You can miss the spot by a
little, and you can land nearby and readjust if you want. When you get to the
studio, run over to Solomon's building to end the mission.

Head over to Devin for the next mission.

Get in the marked car and drive to the gas station. It's a LONG way from
here, but you can practice your driving skills with this car on the way
there. When you arrive, Franklin coaxes the twosome into a race.

You don't have any indication of where to go aside from following them.
Really, though, you just need to stay on this highway as you speed through
half the state. You can perhaps knock both of them off the side of the road
if you want to be first, but it doesn't really matter.

When you go passed Grapeseed, you'll switch characters to Michael, who plays
cop with Trevor. You need to catch up to the boys now on your police
motorcycle. Put on your sirens with the honk button and get rolling. You
basically tail them through the half the state again. Just keep up with
Trevor and eventually traffic slows them down. Your biggest worry should be
cars and not trying to overtake them.

They finally pull over after Trevor threatens them on the loudspeaker for the
tenth time, and we have another cutscene. After the shake down, you must
drive the cars to the garage back in south LS... yes, we have to drive down
half the state again.

Switch to Franklin and start driving down the highway. The three of you make
it a little "race," so just follow the yellow line and try not to crash into
any cars on the road. When you arrive at the garage, you discover that you
need to do some more work for Devin before you can get paid.

Since Michael's not in on this job, switch to Franklin and drive over to
Devin's icon for the next mission.

As Trevor, use the camera to zoom in on Franklin. Once you've zoomed in, hold
the right trigger (fire button) to "scan" him. Public exposure? LOL! At any
rate, you fly over to scan people just as you scanned Franklin. You are
looking for a man named Chad Mulligan. Scan all of the people that are in the
blue squares. On the second look, you will find him.

Follow him with the camera as he walks around and inside of building. Soon
he'll come to his garage, but Franklin instigates incorrectly and he drives
off. From here, you need to follow Chad on the camera as he speeds around
town. This can be kinda dizzy, but soon he'll go into a parking garage. From
here, turn on your thermal vision when prompted and first find Franklin, who
is not in a car and instead waving. Afterward, call out targets for Franklin
to inspect.

The target is in the car on the left corner of the garage. When you've called
him out, you switch over to Franklin, who has Chad at gunpoint. If you shoot
him, you don't have to deal with him calling the police I believe. I
personally did not shoot him - I drove away in the car, evaded the police,
and headed to Devin's location, which is the airport. Stop at the airport
gate and drive to the hangar. After Devin's pep talk, leave the airport to
complete the mission.

Michael texts you that Martin Madrazo's got a mission for you all. Before you
tackle that, head over to Lester's icon as Franklin to do another
assassination mission.

After the payphone call with Lester (they still have those?) head over to the
prostitute's location to stake her out. Don't get too close when you see her.
Instead, get out of the car at the end of the street and go over to the
grassy hill on the opposite side of the road.

Watch as she turns down a few guys before your target rides up in a silver
car with its top off. Using your sniper rifle, take down the guy in the car

Isaac Penny, ruthless vulture capitalist. Likes buses. Drive to the bus
station and grab one of the red buses. I don't think it matters which one you
choose, but you do have to turn one around the one facing opposite the exit.
When you've stolen the bus, drive to the first bus stop and let in the
passengers.

First bus stop - no target. Second bus stop - no cigar. Third stop - no dice.
Fourth stop? Yep, that's the guy! He's in a suit, and runs off as soon as he
starts to talk to Franklin. Thankfully, the dumb dude gets a normal bicycle
and starts riding away.

Get out of the bus and grab a car. All you need to do is run over him to end

Meet up at Madrazo's estate to get the info: another assassination, this type
one of Madrazo's former friends. Grab a car and get to the observatory. It's
much faster to drive up the hills straight to the observatory if you have a
fast car. The alternative is going around all those long loops.

When you get to the observatory, get in the van off the road. Even though you
get in the driver's seat, Michael starts to man the sniper rifle. Your job
here is to shoot down the jet. The red square is where you need to shoot
because the jet is traveling fast and you are far away. You must shoot within
the red square three times.

Each time you shoot in it, there will be a small cutscene and you will have
to aim again. It's best to do this as quick as possible, because the jet
really starts speeding up and it becomes almost impossible to shoot the red
square. The key is to zoom in all the way and do the three shots quickly.

After you've shot down the plane, you switch characters to Trevor, who is
following the crashing plane on a dirt bike. Follow the dirt path as you
trail the plane's course. Don't run into the white fences or you will crash
and perhaps get killed by wild animals.

Soon the plane veers off and you can't stay on the dirt path. Thankfully, the
hill has a slope down that's rather clear. When you reach the bottom, you'll
have to jump over two lanes of traffic to get further down. Continue racing
down the hill - you now have a distinct trail - and go through the tunnel
under the little bridge.

You must cross the road (with traffic) and jump over the small hill. Continue
following the plane as it starts to veer right. When it does, you should meet
a real paved road - get on it while you follow the plane. After a little bit,
the plane turns left, but there is another adequate dirt path that you can
use to traverse the land.

Continue pursuing the plane as you ride across barren desert. There are not
much rocks or cactuses to run into, so punch it while you continue your
pursuit. Soon, you'll come across a train, but there is another hill that you
can use to jump over it.

You should remember this area well now - it's meth county, I mean Trevor
Philips' county. From this point on, you should just take the roads while
following the plane. It will crash soon right near a farm. When you get
close, get off your bike and take out Javier, who is the only guy standing
with a gun. After taking him down, walk up to the plane and Trevor will grab
the files.

You will switch back to Michael in the van. If you missed it, your current
objective is to merely leave the area. Once you've gotten some distance from
the observatory, your objective changes to destroying the van. Park it on the
side of the road and blow it up by any means. In my game, I had some gas in
my inventory - I put a small trail of gas around one side of the van and
fired my pistol at it to start a fire and blow it up. You can also park the
van in the middle of the road to stop traffic. After you blow it up, you'll
have a selection of cars to choose from!

Afterward, grab a car - there should be several sports cars driving by, so
just pick one and try to slow down the driver. When you've got the wheels,
follow the yellow line to the next destination, the cement works. After you
arrive, watch the cutscene and you'll complete the mission.

You can now only control Franklin because Michael and Trevor are lying low.
As Franklin, head over to Devin's next mission.

For this mission, you must first infiltrate the studio. Climb over the fence
in front of you - the door is easy to climb - and head over to the actor.
He's complaining about his food. Take cover behind the white storage unit
until he's alone.

Stealth up behind him and knock him out. After Franklin changes, head over to
the studio set and the car. I just drove out of there - I had to run over a
security cop and a few assistants, but I got out of the studio. From there,
you'll have a little trouble with the actress in the car as you try to lose
the guards tailing you. You can use spikes by pressing the left stick to ruin
their tires.

Even after you've lost the cars pursuing you, the actress continues to talk
and talk. More importantly, she takes the wheel every now and then and tries
to steer you off the road. Thankfully, Franklin finds a new button that
ejects her from the car! :)

With all threats taken care of, Franklin calls Molly to get the location of
the dropoff. Drive to the location and park the car in the garage to complete
the mission.

After that mission, head to the "M" on the map and try to get inside
Michael's place.

Get in Trevor's red truck and drive to the airstrip. The plane is in the
small hangar. Drive the plane out to the runway and take off - at this point,
you're very used to piloting a plane. Just like before, you have to stay
close to the ground so you don't get on the military's radar.

Fly to the blue marker and continue pursuing the plane when it flies off.
Remember, stay low to the ground but not TOO low; you don't want to crash.
Soon you'll be at Fort Zanucado - just like before, you don't want to fly
over it at all, so stay low and in the swamplands to the south of the fort.

You have to follow the plane as it goes all around the northern part of the
state. Just stay low and you'll be fine - you get warned if you start to fly
too high. After an exceedingly long amount of time, you will finally be able
to fly high in the air and get near the plane.

As you get closer and closer to the plane, you will be repeatedly warned to
back off. Ignore the warnings and continue your pursuit. When you get really
close, they are free to engage and start firing guns and rockets at you. Just
keep the plane steady and fly into the cargo hold in the back of the plane.
You do not need to slow down or anything; if you just hit the back of the
plane at the right spot, you'll get in.

This level is positively full of enemies. First, switch to your shotgun so
you can one-shot them. Afterward, take out the closest enemies first before
moving up. When you've cleared them, climb the ladder and take out the pilot,
who gladly lets Greedo shoot first.

With control of plane, try to fly it back to the airstrip. Soon, you'll have
enemy jets on you. Ron suggests that you fly high, so try to gain some
altitude. It takes the jet pilots a little while, but they finally receive
authorization to shoot you down. After your plane gets hit, Trevor decides to
bail. Run to the opposite side of the ship and jump out. Deploy your
parachute at an adequate distance above ground and try to land on a safe
place like a road.

After completing the mission, another FIB mission pops up. The meeting is
upstairs in the building that was Trevor's old meth lab.

After the cutscene, drive *all the way* to Paleto Bay. It's a looong way, but
you got hipster conversations to keep you busy. When you arrive, you'll have
a cutscene in which you pick up Lester. Afterward, you need to drive to the
bank.

After driving in front of the bank, you'll need to go inside an empty lot to
the left. In the lot, someone gets the bright idea to trigger the alarm. As
Michael, shoot at the small greenish alarm in front of you. Afterward, drive
to the marked location - across the street to the gas station.

Once you've gauged the response time of the police, Trevor kinda freaks and
hops on a motorcycle. Switch to Trevor and drive back to his office. It's a
"race" against Michael again. You should easily be able to beat him on the
bike; the only problem that can arise is if you crash. You'll lose A LOT of
time. Taking shortcuts doesn't seem to make much of a difference here; follow
the yellow trail to the office.

When you get to the office, Lester goes over the plan. Your only choice here
is your crew, and you only need one crew member this time. I personally chose
Chef because he is Trevor's friend and is about as good as the best guy but
wants less money. The mission ends after the plan cutscene.

Franklin calls up and tells Trevor that there are some rednecks looking for
him. Well, we'll just have to change that, now won't we?
