THIS VERSION: FINAL: Added tips, re-did introduction
Added location of card #6 & #81! Also some extra sickles I
missed out and a FWAWC. Also a couple of tips. Plus
probably the last GS codes youll get for a long time, at
last, I have the spell level-up codes.
Version 3.8 : Added un-related section to Contact Me section.
New GS Codes: Lighting Effects and Quest Modifiers! Yes,
you read right, Quest Modifiers!
Version 3.6 : Added amendment to Email Policy. Added FWAWC locations I
forgot to do before. Fixed a smiley face bug (dont
ask). Added Map IDs for Teleport Code and One-hit-kill GS
code. Added purple toads into the item list and the spell
level up stats. Minor formatting changes.
Version 3.4 : Added About this Guide. Added Gameshark Codes (Teleport
09/02/02 and Folio Bruti). Finished Bruti records, added card
Rarity to FWAWC Section and re-did Introduction, Credits
and formatting in the Walkthrough section.
Version 3.2 : Added Math Lesson in CAC cheats section, Last Words
27/01/03 and completed hacking item IDs. Minor Change in the
Walkthrough. Changed section titles. Added info from
Cara Diehm of Griptonite Games about missing items
into the new Tips, Tricks and Glitches Section.
Version 3.0 : Hacked the GS Cheats for all the Equip Items and in
the process added all the Equip Items. Got a new
ASCII Art Title (Thanks ASCII Generator!). Transferred
Everything into a Word Document and did a Spell Check
(I was surprised at how many mistakes there were).
Version 2.8 : Added Maps and Finished CAC Locations. Added 'Weird'
16/01/2002 : Cheats.
Version 2.6 : Added Card Locations for Xavier Rastrick, Roland
14/01/2002 Kegg, Gweong Jones and Justus Pilliwickle. Added some
more Gameshark Codes. Started working on CAC locations
(from quests) though not included. Minor Formatting
changes (betchya can't find them).
Version 2.4 : A monster of an update. Changed 'Duelling Club' into
'Side-quests' and added necessary information. Added
Shop Guide and 'Equip' Items. Added GS codes for CACs
fr. Lord Ardhamon. Re-did Folio Bruti. Added Hermiones
Lecture Attacks.
Version 2.2 : I've cracked the gameshark codes for the card
modifiers! No more looking for cards (unless you
don't have a GS! :) )
Version 2.0 : 6/1/2003 Totally re-did the Folio Magi Section. Plan
to do the same to the Bruti sometime... Added the
awful ASCII Art (by me naturally) and made formatting
changes.
Version 1.8 : 5/1/2003 Completed Folio Triplicus. Added Boss Guide
and Ron info. Enhanced Items.
Version 1.6 : Added most of the Bruti. Added Tips & Tricks and made
minor corrections and additions. Enhanced spells and
Minigames.
Version 1.4 : Christmas Eve Version. Complete Walkthrough for both
decks. Added most of the Triplicus and the FAQ section
Version 1.2 : Complete Walkthrough and Folio Magi. Yet to complete
other Folios and do chests. I will now attempt to
play the game yet again using the Merlin Deck to find
any differences or items I have missed.
Version 1.0 : Total revision (I'm playing the game again). Added
Sections 7-13
Version 0.3 : (14/12/2002) Full Walkthrough though VERY incomplete.
If I were you I would wait for the next version...
Version 0.2 : Walkthrough up to Use the Invisibility Cloak to Visit
Hagrid. Un released.
Version 0.1 : (9/12/2002) First Version. Walkthrough up to 'Ask
Hagrid to Cure Ron's Curse'. Added Walkthrough
Overview, Controls, Intro, and Copyright Notice
-=-=To do=-=-
Well, theres not a lot left to do. Ill have to finish the Folio
Bruti. Maybe hack some more cheats. Also get the location for
Orsino Thurston and the rest of the CACs.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is the second of a series by EA Games based on the Harry Potter
series of books by JK Rowling. The release has coincided with the
release of the movies and the games on the other platforms. This FAQ
is meant to be as complete and concise as possible, with locations of
all known items and secrets. Due to the difficulty of this, it is
highly probable that things have been left out. If you know something
that isn't listed, please contact me by email at [email protected]
If there is something that Ive missed out, or something that you would
Like to see here, please email me at the address below.
15/03/03 - Well, its been exactly 100 days since work began on this
guide. And now, its coming to an end. Well, not quite. Im
moving on to bigger things, e.g. Pokemon R/S and school
work is weighing me down. The beast location guide has been
temporarily suspended. I say temporarily because there is
still a chance it might be completed.
As for your requests for help, contributions, corrections,
etc. I will still be taking these, its just that I wont
be taking an active role in finding out new stuff, or
hacking too many codes.
So, this isnt really the Final Version, it all depends on
you.
-=-= About this Guide =-=-
What will you find in this guide? Well, first of all, it includes the
most complete Walkthrough available on the internet. This states the
location for almost all the items available and tells you where to get
those rare Famous Witch and Wizard Cards! Secondly, this is one of the
only places you will find all the best Gameshark Codes for this guide.
This is because theyve been hacked by either me, the author, or Lord
Ardhamon, who contributes to this guide. Thirdly, it contains the most
concise item lists, card lists, combo lists and enemy lists available.
We have lists for almost everything! And lastly, you will find all
those extras like tips, chest contents, mini game guides and game help,
plus much, much more! That will hopefully explain the size of this
document, as it contains A LOT of extra info.
You will not find a better guide than this. Period.

-=-=Differences between Chamber of Secrets and Sorcerers Stone=-=-
Ive played both games and Id say this one is a large improvement on
the first. To start off with, there is a new multi-person battle
system, which allows you to have Ron, Hermione, Lockhart and Fawkes
in your party. The second big difference is the addition of the Folio
Bruti. Coupled with your Informous spell, it will record information
on all monsters you have encountered. Other less noticeable changes
have occurred, including changing the cost of spells, added items,
a couple of changes to Hogwarts (including the addition of maps) and
changes to the CACs.
-=-=About the Author=-=-
If you are reading this then you have too much time on your hands.
Anyway, Im a 14 year old and live in New Zealand. Thats near
Australia for those of you who arent familiar with South-Western-
Pacific Geography. I enjoy using computers and am especially into
video games (who isnt?) Apart from gaming I maintain my own
website, write computer programs (yup, including games) and do a bit
of 3d-modelling/image manipulation. Im also developing a CCG with
my friend and Im using DirectX and C++ to write a PC version. Then
theres school and I enjoy playing cricket and soccer.
-=-=Apologies=-=-
I would like to apologise for:
- Mis-information (unintentionally of course) given here. Especially
when people contribute tips etc, I dont have time to check up on
all of them
- Other mistakes
- Dull attempts at humour in the walkthrough commentary
- My poor artistic talents
- The graphical incapabilities of text files
- Anything I have forgotten to apologise for
I would like to thank here everybody on the GameFAQ board, for
contributing to this FAQ. They are a great bunch of guys and have
been both helpful and tolerant with my constant questioning.
Now might be a good time to sneak in a little confession and hope
you dont notice it :). I have used an emulator to play this game,
for the sole reason that emulators are a lot easier to use. For
example I can make as many save states as I like and I dont have to
reload the game every time I stuff up. It also makes Gameshark
Code Hacking a lot easier as you can actually search for values,
not just do comparisons. Using an emu is exactly the same as using,
the real thing, just that its not :) Dont call me a cheapo because
of this, it just makes things a lot easier.

The below review is by Golden Goldeen and is published here by
permission and has only been modified to adhere to formatting
constraints. The views expressed below are not necessarily those of
me (although they mostly are).
_____________________________________________________________________
I didn't buy this - for some strange reason I haven't yet grasped,
my mum did. Upon playing this I was instantly hooked. When I was half
way through the game I stopped and re-started, deleting my save file.
I had made a rubbish job because I was rushing. And that's the only
problem with this game - to play through it properly, the time
consumed is endless.
GRAPHICS - 9/10
The graphics are excellent. I can tell what, who and where everything
and everyone is, and as well as that there are a few occasions where
3D graphics penetrate the 2D Game Boy Colour world (such as a certain
spiral staircase). Excellent graphics in general.
MUSIC - 5/10
Not nearly so good music as the previous Harry Potter game. I said
the same at the film - the music just isn't catchy any more. I
generally play Red Hot Chili Peppers when I play.
SOUND - 6/10
There are a few good sound effects, but aside from that, they're all
pretty rubbish. Again I listen to music - sound doesn't really matter
at all.
STORY - 8/10
The game does follow the story but there are quite a few occasions
where a 'major' book event is missed (I'm an avid Harry Potter reader
so I notice every little thing) but generally you can refer to the
book and see what you do next. Obviously to make it more interesting
there are extra things not included in the book.
GAMEPLAY - 10/10
The game's real forte is its addictiveness and no matter how many
times I fight a gnome, I enjoy it. The only tiresome thing I have yet
found in Gameplay is Ron's lack of MP. In Chamber of Secrets there
are multiple players, a new system to record magical beasts' strengths
and weaknesses, and at long last, Quidditch is available to play as
both a mini-game and an in-game event.
REPLAY VALUE - 10/10
Like I said, gnome-pummelling never loses its charm. I will play this
game for years. Also, there are a lot of little side-quests which you
can never tire of, as well as the great mini-games.
MINI-GAMES - 9/10
There are eight mini-games, quite enough for me, all of them
excellent. Of course the Quidditch game is best, but Gnome-throwing
will always have a spot in my heart.
OVERALL - 8/10
I strongly recommend buying this game. It has cute aspects as well
as the fearsome battle aspects, and there are some really good
side-quests. The excellent Mini-Games top it off with an everlasting
boredom-consumer. This game's mark is 8/10.

-=-=Abbreviations used in this Walkthrough=-=-
APP: Anti-Paralysis Potion
CAC: Card Attack Combo
CCC: Card Collector's Club
EFB: Every Flavour Beans
FWAWC: Famous Witch and Wizard Card
GPUP: Grand Pepper Up Potion
PP: Pumpkin Pasty
PUP: Pepper Up Potion
RP: Revive Potion
WP: Wiggenweld Potion
WGP: Wiggenweld Grand Potion
-=-=Directions=-=-
Directions such as 'top left corner' or 'bottom of the room' refer
to the part of the current map. Words such as 'left' or 'top' refer
to the part of the map as if you are looking at it as you are when
you play i.e. at the screen.
If you lose yourself, (in the music, the moment, you want... -ahem-)
i.e. you don't know where you are there are several things you can
do to help. First, press which will tell you where you are.
Then, if you're in Hogwarts, go look for the map, which is a box with
a question mark (' ? ') on it. This is usually located near the top
of the map.
-=-=Arrangement=-=-
The walkthrough is arranged by quests, with the name of the quest
at the top. You can see what is the current quest by pressing START.
If the quest is very short, e.g. 'Go to your dorm' and you get
stopped as soon as you leave the class, these aren't mentioned.
Subquests/plots are signalled by inverted borders eg. =-=-Quest-=-=
I've also divided it into larger sections indicated by:
__ __
_/ _|__________________________________________________________|_ \_
| | NAME OF SECTION HERE _| |
¯\ ¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|__/¯
¯¯
This divides the game into six major sections.
-=-='Dying'=-=-
Dying isn't a very nice word, it's more like you're being knocked out.
If you are unfortunate enough to have your entire party on 0 SP, i.e
you've been knocked out, you will be taken to a hospital of some
sort in your area, e.g. the Hospital Wing. However, if you 'die'
battling a special boss or while completing a special quest, you
may be taken to a previous point, e.g. if you lose to Aragog you're
taken back to Hagrid's hut.
If one member of your party is on 0 SP but you have at least one
other person above that, that/those member(s) will start with 1 SP every
battle until he is healed.
-=-=Items and their locations=-=-
Sometimes, I skip out items and mention them later in the FAQ, this
shouldn't be so in this, and further revisions, but it is possible.
Also I have found that items are only found where there are objects,
e.g. paintings, books, trees. Items aren't usually found on bare
wall and usually have something indicating them. This is handy in
places like Hagrid's Garden. It is also possible that if I say
you get a certain amount of Sickles or a particular card, you'll
get another one instead. This is probably because you're using a
different deck.
If I say you get a FWAWC and I've given two names, the first is what
you get when you play Morgan le Fay, the second is Merlin.
Occasionally I might have found a card while replaying with Merlin
and the Morgan le Fay one is missed out; if this is the case, contact
me.

Meet Dobby
==========
After looking at your room inspect your bed. Dobby appears and warns
you not to go Hogwarts. After he disappears, Ron arrives outside
your window.
Gather School Supplies
======================
When you pick up your Folio you have a choice between
two decks. Here are the differences:
Merlin Deck:
Cards - Merlin, Burdock Muldoon, Artemisia Luftkin, Bridget Wenlock.
Leopoldina Smethwyck, Roderick Plumpton
Combos - Broom Doom, Replenish Magic
Morgan Le Fay Deck:
Cards - Paracelsus, Gaspard Shingleton, Laverne DeMontmorency,
Perpetua Fancourt, Montague Knightley, Beaumont Marjoribanks
Combos - Create Potion, Healing Balm
Just out of interest - Morgan le Fay is Merlins worst enemy (according
to the Folio Magi)
It doesnt really matter which deck you choose, youll find the game
equally
Now pick up Hedwig and your Suitcase then get into the car.
Fly to Ron's House
==================
Once you arrive at Ron's house go to your left and you'll see a crate
and some barrels. Inspect the crate for a WP and the barrel for a
FWAWC (Hesper Starkey) Now go to Ron. You'll meet Ron's family. Before
you follow the Weasleys into the Burrow, check out the crate by the
window for some EFBs. Then go in for some breakfast.
Find Ron's Room
===============
Look inside the fireplace to get a PP. There is a FWAWC (Gifford
Ollerton) on the table on your left and a PUP on the shelf at the
bottom of the room. Now go to your right and into the kitchen. Talk
to Ron's mum to make her go to bed. Now go outside through the back
door and walk into a 'Magical Encounter'. Your Gameboy will give you
some quick tips on this and then you'll launch into battle.
Remember: The more you battle the better, because you will increase
your level, your spells and get money, items and even Famous
Witch and Wizard Cards! You'll need to be at pretty high levels
to beat the enemies in store for you.
Go back inside to the living room and up the stairs. Look at the
book on the table to get a FWAWC (Greta Catchlove). Now go left into
Percy's room and look on his desk to get (Yardley Platt OR Gunhilda
of Gorsemoor). There's also a WP at the top of his bed. Exit and go
up the next set of stairs. There's a FWAWC (Wendelin the Weird) on
the drawers on your right. Now go through the doors on your right to
Ron's parents room. Look in the drawers at the top for some EFBs.
Then go to the table above the bed for a CAC (Conjure Snack OR Healing
Attack). Now go into the room on your left where you'll find Ginny.
The left table has a CAC (Dancing Flames) and the right has some EFBs.
Now go up the next set of stairs. On your left is the twins room.
There's a PP on the drawers and a FWAWC (Paracelsus OR Carlotta
Pinkstone) with the socks. Go back to the landing and there's a FWAWC
(Tilly Toke) on the drawers. Now go up the stairs into the attic.
There's a FWAWC (Gideon Crumb) on the purple box. There's also one
(Cassandra Vablatsky) on the blue box. Finally there's a PP in the
chest on the right. Now go out and into Ron's room on your right.
There's a PUP in his clothing pile and a FWAWC (Archibald Alderton
OR Mirabella Plunkett) in the drawers and another (Adalbert Waffling
OR Gaspard Shingleton) in the sockpile on the right. Talk to Ron and
he'll give you a CAC (White Light OR Regeneration) then you'll go to
sleep.
Degnome the Garden
==================
Go down all the stairs and into the kitchen. Go out the back to the
garden and talk to Ron.
***Minigame*** - De-gnome the Garden
In this minigame just use your control pad to go to the hole with
the gnome. Press A to pick them up. Collect more gnomes than Ron to
win.
***Minigame*** - Throw the Gnomes
This game's a little more complicated than the previous one. The
instructions you'll receive are probably better than any I can give
you.
Once you've finished, Mr Weasley will teach you the Informous spell,
which gives you info on the enemies you battle. You'll also receive
a Folio Bruti to store the info you get with Informous in.
Learn to Use Floo Powder
========================
Before you leave the Weasleys there's another item that you can get.
Go inside and all the way up to the attic and talk to the ghoul there.
Now go down to the kitchen and inspect the oven (the green thing).
Take the chains back up to the Ghoul now. He'll give you a FWAWC
(Cliodne). Now go back to the living room and to the fireplace. You'll
get to use Floo powder to get to Diagon Alley but...

Escape Knockturn Alley
======================
Take a couple of steps forward and you'll see someone coming. Once
they've left check out the book case behind Mr Borgin for a FWAWC
(Uric the Oddball OR Beatrix Bloxam). Be careful not to die here
or else this quest will automatically end. Go through the hidden
door on your left and the bookcase has a FWAWC (Merwyn the
Malicious) Exit the shop and go into the alley on your left for a PUP.
Go into the shop on your left and look at the case on your left for a
RP. Then go to the back of the shop and look at the case behind the man
for a FWAWC (Cyprian Youdle OR Herpo the Foul). Leave the shop and go
into the next one on your left. The cabinet in the top left and bottom
right both hold FWAWCs (Archibald Alderton OR Mirabella Plunkett &
Miranda Goshawk). Exit this shop and go into the alley on your left.
The crate holds a FWAWC (Morgan le Fay OR Mopsus). On your way out of
the alley talk to the woman wearing green 3 times and she'll give you
16 Sickles. Now go to the bottom left of the map and you'll run into
Hagrid.
Get Money for School Supplies
=============================
Hagrid will take you back to Diagon Alley and then you'll receive your
Gringotts vault key. Ron will join your party here. You can now control
his attacks in battle (like a really RPG). He also has 'Scabbers
Attacks' instead of Card Attacks.
Now walk into Gringotts (the big building on your right) and grab some
sickles from the table on your left. Then go up the hall to Griphook,
who'll take you into your vault. Here you get left behind (just like last
year, kinda suspicious huh?) First go to that bluish on the wall to your
left and you'll get an Antidote. Go down back to your right, past the
path you came in by to the next path. Down here in the yellow thing
there's a FWAWC (Edgar Stroulger). Go back out and follow the path to the
right until you reach a blue thing. Search this for a WGP.
Continue round past the golden vault and you'll see a 'big' Magical
Encounter, which is kinda like a boss. Here you'll have to fight a
Footman. Hopefully you should've levelled up your Verdimillious spell
and you'll be able to beat him down easily. At the fork talk to
Griphook then go left into Ron's vault. Get the money then go to your
vault. On the way there check out the golden thingy for a FWAWC (Norvel
Twonk OR Leopoldina Smethwyck). When you get back to the fork Griphook
will've gone but you can get back easily, just follow the instructions
above in reverse :D
Explore Diagon Alley
====================
First go into the alley on your left and the right crate has a FWAWC
(Kirley Duke). Then go into the shop on your left, Mullpepper's
Apothecary. Inspect the shelf behind Mullpepper to get and Antidote.
Then look on the bottom left shelf for a FWAWC (Devlin Whitehorn OR
Alberta Toothill). Now go into the alley on your left and there's a WP
in the crate. In the next shop you'll meet the guy who runs the FWAWC
Collectors Club at Hogwarts. Once he's finished you can buy stuff off
the guy on your left. Then go to the case at the side for a FWAWC
(Alberic Grunnion OR Joscelind Wadcock). Once you're done go into the
broomstick shop. Walk straight into the broom in front of you for 137
sickles. Then go to the lady on the left. Buy a Chudley Cannons Jersey
and anything else you want. Then give the jersey to Ron. Now go back to
the Collectors Club guy and give him the Football Card. He'll give you
a Misprinted Wendolyn Card.
Leave him then go into the Owl Shop. The grey owl (top right) has a FWAWC
(Derwent Shimpling). Now go back to Gringotts and down. On your left will
be the healing shop. You might already have been here if you got knocked
out. Go inside and get healed. Then get a WP from the shelf. Go into the
next shop and talk to the lady there. Go out to the back of her shop.
Here you'll have to fight all the purple toads (use Verdimillious).
First go to the back row of tables and there's a FWAWC in the middle of
the most left one (Montague Knightley OR Grogan Stump). Go into the next
part of the shop on the right and get a PP from the crate in the corner.
To catch the toads just run into them. Once you've caught all five go
back to the lady and she'll give you a FWAWC (Morgan le Fay). In the next
shop there's a FWAWC (Helga Hufflepuff) on the shelf. At the back of the
shop go into the little room on the left and the right chest has a CAC
(Alter Enemy) and the left a FWAWC (Perpetua Fancourt OR Bridget Wenlock).
Exit and go into the next alley where there's a CAC (Weakpoint OR
Blasting Curse). Now go into the bookshop. Inside go to the counter and
purchase your 2nd year books. Behind the counter on the bookshelf are
some EFBs. Now go to your left and the bookcase here has a FWAWC
(Laverne DeMontmorency OR Artemisia Lufkin). Go up and you'll run into
Hagrid again and Gilderoy Lockhart. Once that scene's over go to the
pile of books in front of Lockhart for a FWAWC (Beaumont Marjoribanks OR
Roderick Plumpton). Go back down to the front of the shop and you'll see
Mr Malfoy and Mr Weasley go at each other. Once that's finished, and if
you've bought everything you wanted, talk to Mr Weasley.
Subtle way to hint at future plot twists: 'My cauldron feels heavier'
'Your arms are probably just
getting tired'.
Travel to Hogwarts
==================
After you fail to catch the Hogwarts Express exit the platform then go
round to the left side of the building and get into Mr Weasley's
Anglia.
***Minigame*** - The Flying Anglia
Now you get to fly the Anglia to Hogwarts.
A score of around 3100-3200 is very good (but not impossible)

Escape the Whomping Willow
==========================
From now on Ron's wand occasionally backfires, watch out.
You now have to get down a rather shoddily drawn Whomping Willow.
You'll encounter willow branches in your battles here. Use your
Vermillious spell against these. Once you're near the end you'll have
to fight a boss, which is just a bigger, tougher Willow Branch.
Find Hogwarts
=============
Go down into the next area and to your left and to the second blue
patch for a WP. There is also a FWAWC (Godric Gryffindor) by the base
of the tree inside the bottom right corner of the map. Now go back to
the path and down to the next area. In this area go straight down into
the tree (not the pointy one). At the base of this there's a FWAWC
(Lord Stoddard Withers). Go across to the left and up to the greenhouse
and the flower patch on the right has a PUP. Now go into the castle and
you'll get yourself in trouble with Snape.

Attend Herbology Class
======================
Before you go to class there are a couple of 'side-quests, which we'll
start on.
=-=-Get Katie's Book-=-=
Go down to the 4th floor and into the Hospital Wing. Katie Bell will
be lying in a bed on your left. Go talk to her and she'll ask you to
get her book... You'll be able to retrieve it soon. Or you can skip
through a bit and do it now.
=-=-'Trading Sequence'-=-=
Go down to the ground floor and out of the castle. Go down the path,
left then down and into Hagrid's Hut. Give him the baby spider and
you'll receive a spiked collar. Go back to the castle and into Filch's
office. Give him the collar and he'll give you a picture of Lockhart.
Now you'll have to find the girl. Sometimes she's on the 3rd floor,
sometimes she's on the fifth - she could be anywhere. If you can't find
her give up for a while and look later. Once you've found her trade
then go up to the fifth floor and into the Non-magical Studies Class.
Talk to the guy there. Once you've traded go across the hall to the
music class and talk to the guy there. Now go to the History of magic
Class and talk to Binns. He'll give you a Dragon Skin Cloak. It's
quite good as a cloak but you can sell it for 15,000 sickles!
Go down to the Ground Floor and into the sweet shop. There's a FWAWC
(Elfrida Clagg) on the bookshelf. Now go into the Great Hall, which isn't
so great after all...
-Bottom Right Table, Right Side: FWAWC, Yardley Platt OR Gunhilda
of Gorsemoor
-Top Right Table, Left Side: WGP
You can go through the door and to back and have fun talking to the
paintings. Now to get to Herbology.
Exit the castle and go to your left to Greenhouse II.
Capture the Escaped Mandrakes
=============================
Go to those plant boxes behind you for a FWAWC (Almerick Sawbridge). Go
through the door at the back into the next area. Go forward and there's
a FWAWC (Mungo Boham) in with the flowers. Go down and right then up
near the dead end. Go a bit left then up straight into the wall for an
APP. There's also a WP right at the back to the left of the final
Mandrake. Now go around battling the mandrakes. They look like a pile of
leaves on the floor. Once you've go all three (the last is behind the
boss) go back to Pr. Sprout.
Attend Defence Against the Dark Arts Class
==========================================
First go into Greenhouse I. The drawers in front of you have a FWAWC
(Wilfred Elphick) as well as the table (Merwyn the Malicious). The
middle section of plants also has 161 sickles. Now go up to the third
floor and to Defence Against the Dark Arts. Once Lockhart's finished...
***Minigame*** - Capture the Pixies
Personally I don't like this Minigame much, but I guess it might be
fun for some people.
Once you've finished Lockhart will congratulate you then you can leave
(sigh).
=-=-Get Katie's Book-=-=
Back to work on this little prob. Go up to the Gryffindor Common Room
and the guy there will tell you Ginny's on the third floor. Go down
and you'll see her next to that cabinet by the stairs. Once you've
talked to her go up to the 5th floor and talk to Colin who's sitting
on the couch. Go back down to Ginny and give her the photo. Once she
gives you the book go up to the Hospital Wing and return the book.
She'll teach you Petrificus Totalus!
Now go down to the Ground Floor and into the grounds. Take the path
down and go down the second on your right. Go up and to the left to
that tree right at the top for a FWAWC (Elfrida Clagg). Go diagonally
down and to the right and the tree on the other side of the circle has
an Antidote. Now go down into the next area.
Go over to your left and there's a tree that has an APP. Now go down
and to your left and into the Quidditch Stadium.
Once Woods finished, you get to play some Quidditch!, kinda.
***Minigame*** - Quidditch
What's there to say? Just read the instructions.
Once you're done Malfoy will appear.
Ask Hagrid to Cure Ron's Curse
==============================
Exit the stadium and take the path going left into the next area.
Go left then left and up to Hagrid's Hut. By the gate to Hagrid's hut
there's a FWAWC in the tree on the right (Gifford Ollerton). Now go
through the gate and into the hut.
Gather Ingredients from Hagrid's Garden
=======================================
Before you get the ingredients look in Hagrid's wardrobe for a RP and
also his bed for a FWAWC (Quong Po). Now go into Hagrid's garden on your
left. The items here are all in holes in the hedge. Go forward and you'll
see one. Got your Cocoa Beans! Follow the path then go up and you'll see
another hole. There's a CAC here (Sickle Seek OR Extra Credit). Now go to
your right past the intersection and up to a rectangular area above you
here there's some Germander. Go back to the crossroads and take the path
going up. Take the first right and over a bit more to get the Wormseed.
Go back to your left, up, left then up for the Valerian. Now go down and
all the way across to the right and battle the boss. Try using your
Incendio to start levelling it up. Once you beat him you'll get some
Tentacula Sap. Now go back to Hagrids Hut.
Return to Gryffindor Dormitory
==============================
Exit Hagrid's Hut and go out through the gate at the top. Go right
then up and back into the castle. When you go up the stairs McGonagall
will accost you.
Meet at Lockhart's Office for Detention
=======================================
Instead of going straight up to Lockhart's office go to the 5th floor
and to the Card Collectors Club. Talk to guy there and you'll receive
your CACs for completing the quests. See those chests up there? When
you collect all of the FWAWCs of a set you'll be able to unlock the
corresponding chest. Now go down to Lockharts office on the 3rd floor
for detention. He'll tell you about the duelling club. You can do this
whenever you like but after a certain point (once you have to fight
Malfoy I think) you won't be able to.
Go to Second Quidditch Practice
===============================
Go down to the Ground floor. Nearly Headless Nick will ask you to go
to his 500th Deathday party. Now go to your right and up the hall and
you'll be in the duelling club room. There's a WP in the cupboard on
your left and a FWAWC (Helga Hufflepuff) in the one on the right. Now
go to the Quidditch Pitch and talk to Wood.
Attend Nick's Deathday Party
============================
Go back to the castle. Ron and Hermione will be by the entrance of the
Dungeons. Go down into the dungeons and follow the path until you near
the end where you can turn left and go down the stairs to the party.
After getting introduced you can walk around and talk. Then talk
to the ghost on the right.
***MINIGAME*** - Ghost Head Bowling
This is a fun Minigame, a score of around 150 is good (my best is 199).
Once you're done - feel free to leave!

Now go up to History of Magic. After a while Binns will send you to get
a book.
Fetch the History Book for Prof. Binns

Hermione into the toilets then go talk to Myrtle.

without any questions... idiot.

Go down to the Quidditch Pitch and talk to Wood.
Even if you catch the Snitch here nothing happens. You'll then get
knocked off your broom by the rogue bludger. Lockhart will try to mend
your arm with disastrous effects and you'll be taken to the Hospital
Wing. After Dobby comes and disappears Colin Creevey will be brought
in after being petrified. After a day you'll be healed. Ron and
Hermione learn Fumos at this point (I think).
Attend Potions Class
====================
Go down to Potions in the dungeon. Once the fireworks go off sneak
into the Storeroom.
Get Potions Ingredients from the Store Room
===========================================
The Bicorn horn is on the middle of the shelf at the start. The
Boomslang skin is right at the back. Go up and left then follow the
path to the back right of the room. Quickly get back to class.
Snape will have a talk to you before you leave.
Challenge Draco Malfoy at the Duelling Club
===========================================
Hopefully by now you've already defeated all of your opponents at the
Duelling Club. Anyway, get to the Duelling Club and you'll be facing
Malfoy.
Start of with Petrificus Totalus and Mucus Adnauseam. Then just beat
him down with Flipendo. Don't bother using any of your other spells
because they'll do minimal damage. Apparently you don't have to beat
Malfoy but if you do you'll get a FWAWC (Herman Wintringham). Then
he'll send out a Snake. You'll learn Expelliarmus and everyone will
find out you're a Parse mouth.
Find Justin and Explain About Parselmouth
=========================================
Once you leave the room you'll see Justin. However, he'll run away.
Chase him up the stairs to the third floor, where you'll see him and
Nearly Headless Nick petrified. McGonagall will come and take you up
to Dumbledore's office.
Find Dumbledore's Office
========================
Go to your left and follow the path to the U-bend part and there's a
FWAWC (Dunbar Oglethorpe OR Dymphna Furmage) on the right painting.
Go all the way across to the right, up a bit then right and up for a
PP on the painting. Go back to the left and up and follow the path to
the end and go through the door. You'll see Fawkes then after you talk
to Dumbledore you can go back to your Common Room. First go look at
the sorting hat to get a CAC (Blasting Curse) and the bookcase for a
FWAWC (Godric Gryffindor). There's also a RP on his desk. Now go out
of Dumbledore's Office.

Have a Duel with Crabbe and Goyle
=================================
Go down to the Ground Floor and you'll meet Crabbe and Goyle outside
the door to the Dungeons. Once you've talked to them go to the
Duelling Club. Use Ron's Fumos spell, Mucus Adnauseam, Expelliarmus
and Flipendo. Once you're done you'll get their hair and leave them in
the broom cupboard by Filch's Office.
Meet Hermione to Finish the Polyjuice Potion
============================================
Go up to Myrtle's Bathroom on the 2nd floor where Hermione is and take
the Polyjuice Potion.
Go to Slytherin Common Room and Find Draco
==========================================
Go down into the dungeon and you'll run into Snape. Once he's finished
go straight ahead and you'll find Malfoy outside the Common Room. Go
to the back of the room and there's a RP in the alcove and a FWAWC
(Queen Maeve OR Musidora Barkwith, I think this is the only place you can
find it) at the bottom right of the table. Then talk to Malfoy.
Meet Hermione at Myrtle's Bathroom
==================================
Go back up to Myrtle's Bathroom and you'll turn back to your normal
selves. You'll find Tom Riddle's diary and then take Hermione up to
the Hospital Wing.
Attend Lockhart's Valentine's Day Party
=======================================
Once Hermione's better it's ... Valentine's Day. Quickly try
and leave and you'll receive an embarrassing poem. Now leave. Once
out you'll be accosted by the Weasley twins.
Go to Gryffindor Dormitory and Study the Diary
==============================================
Go up to the Gryffindor Common Room. Don't forget to stop by at the
CCC. Go up to your Dormitory. After writing in Riddle's diary you'll
be taken to a scene and you'll see some interesting things... (why
would Hagrid hide a giant spider in Snape's Office?)
Go to Your Second Quidditch Game
================================
After Hermione rushes off to the Library go down to the Quidditch
Pitch. However, McGonagall comes and cancels the game. Then she tells
you Hermione and Penelope Clearwater have been attacked.
Return to Gryffindor Common Room
================================
Go back up to the Common Room and talk to McGonagall.
Find Your Invisibility Cloak
============================
Go up to your dorm and get the invisibility cloak from the chest at
the foot of your bed.
Use the Invisibility Cloak to Visit Hagrid
==========================================
Go down into the Common Room and you'll see McGonagall standing by
the door. Ignore her and walk out. Now make your way down to the
Ground Floor and exit the castle. Walk down to Hagrid's House and go
inside and talk to him. Then Dumbledore and Fudge will come followed
by Lucius Malfoy. Once they're finished exit the cabin.
Follow the Trail of Spiders
===========================
Exit Hagrid's place by the lower gate and follow the trail of spiders
into the forest. Eventually you'll reach Aragog.
**Fighting Aragog**
After Aragog's finished you'll have to fight him. Use your Incendio,
Vermillious Tria and Ron's Fumos and Incendio. Don't be afraid to use
some of those items you've collected - you'll probably need them.
Once you've defeated Aragog go back out. Go down, right, up, right then
up and the spider web above you has a CAC (Remove Curse). Go right
and up and the blue web has a RP. Go up, left, up then left a bit and
the greenish web has a FWAWC (Queen Maeve OR Musidora Barkwith).
Continue left then down, then left and down then left a bit and
the green web has a GPUP. Go down, right, down and exit.
The Anglia will meet you here and take you out of the forest to
the Northern Entrance.

Ask Myrtle About the Chamber of Streets
=======================================
Go up to Myrtle's bathroom. When you try to go in McGonagall snaps
you. However, your lame excuse works. You'll find Hermione's Note
then McGonagall tells you Ginny's been taken.
Ask Lockhart to Help You Rescue Ginny
=====================================
Go down to Lockhart's office and you'll have to fight him. Use
Expelliarmus, Fumos and Mucus Adnauseam. You'll steal Lockhart's wand
and he'll join your party.
Ask Myrtle About the Chamber of Secrets
=======================================
Go down to the next floor and talk to Myrtle. Once she's finished
examine the lower side of the sink and you'll see a snake.
Harry speaking Parseltongue: 'Hisssss-open-hissss'
Rescue Ginny from the Chamber of Secrets
========================================
Take a deep breath and jump in. Go forward a bit and Lockhart will
Obliviate himself. You and Ron'll get separated. Go forward into the
next area. Go down the first path and on your right the torch has
a FWAWC (Cornelius Agrippa OR Merlin). Go left and follow the path all
the way down. When you reach the bottom path the second torch on your
right has a GPUP. Go to your right up, left and up and the torch near the
corner has a CAC (Healing Attack OR Conjure Snack). Go right then down
and the torch on your right has a FWAWC (Glanmore Peakes). Now MIGHT be a
good time to save your game, if you're brave (or foolish) you won't. Go
up the path and go over to Ginny. Tom will appear and talk to you for a
while. Now you will have to battle the Basilisk.
***Battling the Basilisk***
Now's the time to use up all those items, CACs etc that you've been
saving up. If you die, you'll be taken back to where Ron was so try
not to, although it might take up a while to get your strategy right.
It's impossible for me to give you a good strategy here as the items
you have will differ. You'll have Fawkes by your side to aid you,
but he doesn't help much.
Once you beat it you'll get poisoned while striking through its jaw. Now
Fawkes will heal you with it's tears. Now you'll destroy the diary, destroying
Riddle.
Ending
======
You'll be taken back up to the Bathroom. After some idle chit chat
McGonagall will come and tell you to see Dumbledore. After being
re united with her family Ginny and the rest of the Weasleys will be
sent to the Hospital Wing. You'll receive the same award Riddle did
years ago then Lucius Malfoy will appear with Dobby. Then you'll
free Dobby and receive a FWAWC: You!
Yay! You beat the game! Roll on the Credits!

As said above these codes have been hacked by me. Feel free to use
them in your site/walkthrough/guide etc. but please credit me
appropriately.
Replace 'xx' with the no. of cards you want of that type (as a hex
no. of course)
WARNING: If you use a value of xx larger than 09 then your game will
act oddly. Text will be disfigured and other graphical errors occur.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I take no responsibility for games damaged if
you ignore this warning.

-=-=CAC Modifiers=-=-
The basis for these were submitted by Lord Ardhamon. These are a bit
different because they go by rows, but not quite...
** A bit of a Math Lesson **
I know Im not much in a position to teach anybody about Maths (as
Ive only just completed 4th Form Maths) but here it is:
The xx part represents the permutation of the CACs you have for that
area. Think of it as a binary number when a 1 is you have that
combo and 0 is you dont. Then you have to flip that number
(write it backwards) Then convert that binary number into a
hex number. Dont know how to convert BIN to HEX? Easy! Start up
the Calculator program that ships with Windows then set it to
Scientific. Then set it to BIN and type in the no. Then set it
To HEX. Done!
e.g.:
10110001 - (Have first, third, fourth and eighth)
Flipped : 10001101
Converted to HEX is: 8D
OR
11110110 - (All but fifth and eighth)
Flipped: 01101111
Converted to HEX is: 6F
Then just substitute the HEX no. into the code, so if you wanted
the 18th, 20th, 21st, 23rd and 24th you would have:
01011011
Flipped: 11011010
Converted to HEX is: DA
Substituted in 17-24 code is: 01DAB5DC
Of course you can use as many codes as you want.
Hope youve learnt something :)
If you want that in techno-programmers-jumbo, Folio Triplicus is
represented by five, eight bit arrays, all that crap up there is
basically explaining the process of changing the arrays into hex
values.
** End Math Lesson **
Anyway, here are the codes:
01xxB3DC: Permutation for the first eight (Cure Poisson to Dancing
Flames) (1-8)
01xxB4DC: Permutation for the next eight (Distract to Healing Balm)
(9-16)
01xxB5DC: Intimidate to Remove Curse (17-24)
01xxB6DC: Regeneration to Slow (26-32)
01xxB7DC: Snitch Strike to Cure Poison. (33-40)
Basically, to have all the CACs enter in the above 5 codes replacing
xx with FF.
-=-=Folio Bruti=-=-
Thanks to Cara Diehm and Mike Dorgan (Lead Developer, Griptonite)
I am able to present the Gameshark Codes for the Folio Bruti. These are
even more complicated than the CAC ones. I will spare you the explanation
apart from saying that the monsters are split up into 12 Groups. There
are two variables for each group, one for whether youve seen it, and the
other for if youve Informousd it.
Below are the groups and codes. They work on a similar principle to the
CACs. Basically, to have a full Bruti, with all info you will need 12
codes:
01FF4BCE
01FF4CCE
01FF4DCE
01FF4ECE
01FF4FCE
01FF50CE
01FF51CE
01FF52CE
01FF53CE
01FF54CE
01FF55CE
01FF56CE
The first number in brackets is a reference to the has seen variable
and the second is the Informousd variable. Dont ask me what the gaps
are, because I dont know.

These were hacked by me and define the item that a character is
wearing in that particular slot. Replace the xx with the id code of
the item you want.
WARNING: If you give a character an item they usually wouldn't
be able to wear your game will act strangely. You can
also use the item codes in places where they shouldnt
be, e.g. a Quidditch Helmet in the Boots Slot. If you
wanted to you could put ANY item in there but its not
a good idea.

Walk through Walls: 01009DCD
This ones pretty cool: if you find any secret areas with this, plz
send them to me. NOTE: You cant walk through people though.
Change Harry: 01xxC7DD
This ones pretty interesting. Just replace the xx with the variable
you want. You can make yourself look like whatever you like. Note:
this doesnt change your in-battle picture. Also, sometimes you need
to go into another room for it to take effect. If you know what 5,6 & 7
do, please email me.
00: Harry, Black Robe
01: Harry, Red Shirt
02: Invisibility Cloak
03: Goyle (or is it Crabbe?)
04: This is funny. It looks like a normal Harry but then when you
go into battle you can only swing your sword. And if you only have
yourself in the party you get Fawkes. Then when you attack you turn
into a poor looking Ron and the game freezes.
05: Harry. Not sure of effect.
06: Harry. Not sure of effect.
07: Harry. Not sure of effect.
08: Red Invisibility Cloak??
09: Harry on a Broomstick. Take the cheat off before you go through
doors or else it stuffs your game.
0A: I have no idea what this one is. Send in your suggestions!
All higher values will crash your game.
Lighting Effects: 01xxC0DD
00: Normal, daytime light.
01: Put simply, this turns all the lights off. It makes the maps seem
darker, or Night Time like.
02: This gives the maps a yellow tinge.
For these cheats to take effect you have to press twice.
One-Hit-Kills: 950050D0
950051D0
950069D0
95006AD0
950082D0
950083D0
DO NOT use Flipendo Tria or your game will freeze.
Teleport: Okay, its not really teleporting, just changing your X,Y
position on the map.
Think of the map as a grid of pixels. 0,0 is the top left and as the
x values get bigger you move further to the left and the y values put
you further down the map.
X value: 01xxD5C2

NOTE: youll probably have to put the Walk Through Walls code on
because you often land on buildings/ trees etc.
Thanks to Lord Ardhamon (with a few additions of my own) I now have the
Map IDs to put into the Teleport code.

\_\----/ /==============================\ \----/_/
|/ \ / \ / \|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯\/ \/¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are a total of 8 Minigames which can be accessed from the main
menu when you unlock to them. Some of them are unlocked during the
course of the game but others require you to open chests in the CCC.
These two are the Transfiguration Challenge and Flitwick Boogaloo.
I've stated my own personal rating and have been quite conservative,
just 3s or 4s. None of them really stands out but most of them are
really fun.
-=-=Quidditch=-=-
My Rating: 4/5
Description: A 2D 'capture the snitch' game.
Where You Get It: After completion of your first Quidditch Practice
-=-=The Flying Anglia=-=-
My Rating: 3/5
Description: Top view scroller - fly the car to Hogwarts
collecting coins on the way.
Where You Get It: After arriving at Hogwarts in the Anglia
-=-=De-gnome The Garden=-=-
My Rating: 4/5
Description: Capture more gnomes than Ron by going to their
holes when they pop out and yanking them out.
Where You Get It: At the Weasley's after you de-gnome their
garden
-=-=Transfiguration Challenge=-=-
My Rating: 3/5
Description: Kind of like one of those old Brickgame games.
Transfigure the objects falling down into birds
before they hit the ground.
Where You Get It: Unlock the Transfiguration Chest at the CCC.
-=-=Throw the Gnomes=-=-
My Rating: 4/5 - Golden Goldeen would give it 10
Description: Try to throw the gnomes over the fence and
further than Ron. A bit of a key basher.
Where You Get It: After you De-gnome the Garden.
-=-=Flitwick Boogaloo=-=-
My Rating: 3/5
Description: Copy Flitwick's wand movements by pressing the
correct keys on your Gameboy to make your feather
rise.
Where You Get It: Unlock the Charms Chest at the CCC.
-=-=Grab the Pixies=-=-
My Rating: 3/5
Description: Capture the escaped pixies by charging your wand
and 'capturing' them inside the spell.
Where You Get It: After Defence Against the Dark Arts Class.
-=-=Bowling=-=-
My Rating: 4/5
Description: Just like 10 pin bowling, except you can control
the ball as it rolls (and it's someone's head).
I wonder where the holes for your fingers are...
Where You Get It: At Nick's 500th Deathday Party.

\ \ /__ / 16 SIDE QUESTS 16 \ __\ / /
\_\----/ /==============================\ \----/_/
|/ \ / \ / \|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯\/ \/¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Side quests by definition are sub plots which are not necessary to
completion of the game. The most obvious one would be collecting
the FWAWCs but there are others. Most of these have been listed
within the Walkthrough itself.
-=-=Retrieve Ghoul's Chains=-=-
This is the first side quest and rather simple. Talk to the Ghoul
in the Weasley's attic. Then go down to the kitchen and get his
chains from the oven. Take them up to him and he'll reward you with
a FWAWC - Cliodne.
-=-=Duelling Club=-=-
The Duelling Club is a side quest that is available for completion
between the time you have to serve detention with Lockhart and when
you duel Malfoy. Beat a student from each year level to earn a prize
and eventually the Duelling Trophy from the 7th Year.
1st Year: FWAWC, Rowena Ravenclaw
2nd Year: FWAWC, Honouria Nutcombe
3rd Year: CAC, Replenish Magic OR Create Potion
4th Year: Steel Mesh Gloves
5th Year: Dragon Skin Boots
6th Year: Rabbits Foot
7th Year: Duelling Trophy
-=-=Get Katie's Book=-=-
This is available from after you complete the 'Find your bed in
Gryffindors' Boys' Dormitory' quest. To complete go see Katie
Bell in the Hospital Wing. Then go up to your Common Room and
talk to the guy there. Then go down to the 3rd floor and talk
to Ginny. She'll ask for a photo of you so go up to Colin and
he'll take your photo. Take it back down to Ginny then take the
book back to Katie who'll teach you Petrificus Totalus.
-=-=Trading Sequence=-=-
This is like those trading sequences in those old FF games. It
runs like this.
-Buy Ron Chudley Cannons Jersey
- Ron gives you a Football Card
-Give Football Card to guy from CCC
- Guy gives you a Misprinted Wendolyn Card
-Give Painting of Wendolyn (in the Writing Supplies room) the
Misprinted Wendolyn Card
- Painting gives you a Baby Spider
-Give Baby Spider to Hagrid
- Hagrid gives you a Spiked Collar
-Give Spiked Collar to Filch
- Filch gives you painting of Lockhart
-Give Painting of Lockhart to girl (3rd-5th floor)
- Girl gives you a Torch
-Give Torch to guy in Muggle Studies Class
- Guy gives you a Harmonica
-Give Harmonica to guy in Music Class
- Guy gives you a Magic Whistle
-Give Magic Whistle to Prof. Binns
- Prof. Binns gives you a Dragon Skin Cloak
The cloak is worth 15,000 sickles, but only sell it if you're
desperate for cash.
-=-=Learn Skurge=-=-
This is not really a side quest but isn't necessary.
After the Chamber has been opened go to Filch's office. Look
at the book on his table. You'll learn Skurge then Filch will
snap you. Go out then go back to Filch twice and he'll give
you a pair of Leather Gloves.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯\/ \/¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This probably won't help you much, beating the bosses is just a matter
of using your common sense and training a lot. But it's here anyway.
-=-=Footman=-=-
Location: Gringotts Vaults (before the fork by your vaults)
Strategy: Hopefully you'll have levelled up your Verdimillious spell
by now so this shouldn't be a problem. Don't forget about
Ron's Scabbers Attacks.
-=-=Whomping Willow=-=-
Location: At the bottom of the Whomping Willow
Strategy: If you use your common sense you realise fire works against
wood: Vermillious!
-=-=Ruby Firecrab=-=-
Location: Herbology Class before the final Mandrake.
Strategy: Verdimillious Tria. Anything else is largely in effective.
-=-=Venomous Tentacular=-=-
Location: Hagrid's Garden (to get the Tentacula Sap)
Strategy: If you've got your Vermillious up to Tria you might find
that more effective than Incendio.
-=-=Draco Malfoy=-=-
Location: After you steal the potions ingredients from Snape.
Strategy: You don't actually have to beat him but if you do you'll
probably have to use Flipendo.
-=-=Crabbe & Goyle=-=-
Location: Before you use the Polyjuice Potion
Strategy: Just like Malfoy, except now you've got Expelliarmus! (not
that it's much good).
-=-=Aragog=-=-
Location: In the Forbidden Forest
Strategy: Aragog is probably the hardest enemy you'll face. Don't be
afraid to use your items here and Fumos. Start of with
a couple of Mucus Adnauseams.
-=-=Lockhart=-=-
Location: Before you enter the Chamber of Secrets
Strategy: Start of with Fumos, Mucus Adnauseam and Petrificus Totalus
then beat him down with your strongest spells.
-=-=Basilisk=-=-
Location: In the Chamber
Strategy: The key to this is exploiting Fawkes and having lots of
potions (and SP). See the 'tips' section for a good
strategy.

\ \ /__ / 18 RON & HERMIONE 18 \ __\ / /
\_\----/ /==============================\ \----/_/
|/ \ / \ / \|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯\/ \/¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Ron and Hermione are an important part of the game. Apart from
giving Harry psychological help they come with some pretty snazzy
attacks of their own.
-=-=Scabbers Attacks=-=-
These are what Ron has instead of Card Attacks. There are 5 of them
which become available as he levels up. These can only be used once
per Magical Encounter.
1. Packrat - Guarantees items are won after a Magical Encounter.
2. Ratnip - Inflicts a small amount of damage and stuns one enemy.
3. Cut the Cheese - Distracts one enemy, lowering its attack's damage.
4. Black Death - Distracts all enemies, lowering their attack damages.
5. Gnaw - Inflicts a small amount of damage to all enemies and stuns
them.
-=-=Lecture Attacks=-=-
These work in the same way as Ron's do.
1. Be careful! - Increases one character's defence.
2. You should know better! - The party gains more experience from the
Magical Encounter.
3. Proper Want Techniques - Increases one character's Magic Power.
4. Be even more careful! - Increases all character's defence.
-=-=Fawkes=-=-
You have Fawkes in the final battle vs. the Basilisk and hes definitely
a big help (especially if you use Weak Point). He (or she) just pecks
away at the Basilisk, and can do mega damage with Weak Point.
-=-= Lockhart=-=-
There is one more character that you could possibly have in your
party - Lockhart. His special attack is 'Give Autograph' which acts
a bit like a stun. He can do all the normal spells, except you took
his wand away :).

Diagon Alley is very simple, so this map just shows the position of
the shops. It's not very accurate :)

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯\/ \/¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
These are questions that people have asked me or have appeared
frequently on the GameFAQ boards.
Q: Can I print this guide out?
A: What are you crazy?! I guess if you could afford to do that then
maybe, but
Q: I've completed the game but I don't have all the items.
A: You have to Replay the game (reload it from the menu once you're
done) using a different deck to be able to get all the cards and
Combinations. You lose all your other items when you restart
anyway.
Q: Help! I'm stuck. What do I do now?
A: First press to see your current quest. Now there's a few
things you can do - consult the Walkthrough
- think. A lot of hints are given away during
the game so its pretty easy to work out what
to do next.
- give up and do something else (not advisable)
Q: I've played both decks but I still don't have all the items.
A: MOST of the items are listed by name in the Walkthrough, only
a couple of items have been missed out. If you know where
these are please contact me.
Q: How come I don't have two of the Minigames?
A: You have to unlock the Charms and Transfiguration Chests to get
these.
Q: What's the point of the Duelling Trophy?
A: I don't know.
Q: How long does it take to beat the game?
A: Well, to complete beat the game you'd gave to play it twice. The
first time might take a day or two but if you've done a good job
with that the next go will take you half a day to a day. If you've
done complete jobs with both of them you'll've clocked the game in
two days. But you'll probably have to replay the game a couple more
times.
Q: Are there any alternative endings to the game?
A: Not that Im aware of.
Q: There's a mistake in your FAQ.
A: Dang! Email me about it.
Q: I can't beat .
A: Level up a bit and don't forget to use your Informous spell and/or
your CACs and items.
Q: Where can I find ?
A: Search for the name in the Walkthrough. If its an equip item, keep
going to the shop on the 7th floor and itll be there one day. (Not
including the Dragon items.
Q: Where do you learn Fumos?
A: You don't.
Q: Im also writing a walkthrough for this game, can you give me
Griptonites email address?
A: Get real!
Q: Where can I find the ROM for this game?
A: I shouldn't really tell you here but if you email me...
Q: What Emulator to you use?
A: VisualBoyAdvance! Used for GB, GBC, GBA and any other GB you can
think of!
Q: I have a question that isn't here.
A: What! Email me or jump onto the GameFAQ boards at www.gamefaqs.com
The guys on the board for this game are really helpful...

This is where I'll put tips, trick and glitches that have been sent
to me. If you have a tip, trick, glitch or any other interesting
piece of information, email me.
* The best way to beat the Basilisk is to start with the Morgan Le
Fay Deck and use the CAC Weak Point on the Basilisk. It increases
the damage done by Fawkes from 20+ to 90+
- Tan Yi Jun
[ Actually, Weak Point can be found with the Merlin deck as well
in the Forbidden Forest ]
* I have a good combo for taking on the basilisk. Use the poison
immunity CAC then swing your sword. When you get knocked below
100 SP, use a Wiggenweld Grand Potion to get you in the 'safe'
range.
- Devon
* There are two secret passages: Dungeon to 6th Floor
1st Floor to 4th Floor
- Gamewinners.com
* In the Trading Sequence, instead of paying for a Chudley Cannons
Jersey for Ron, you can steal it from the chest at the end of his
bed for free (When you get to Hogwarts).
On the Get Katies Book Side quest, if you wait until Colin has
been petrified, Ginny will give you the book straight away.
- Steve
* The Portrait Checklist was going to be used for a side quest where
you went around Hogwarts and talked with all of the portraits named
on the list. The Nimbus 2000 was most like left over from when we did
the Philosophers Stone game. Since there were never any debug items
in the game, any other items that you may find that arent used most
likely were just cut from the game, but did not get removed from the
list.
- Cara Diehm, Producer, Griptonite Games
* I have two things you can do with the Walk Through Walls cheat.
First of all, you can skip the part in the Forbidden Forest where Ron
gets jumped by the spider by walking through the wall near that place
and walking up. You will see the exit to the maze and then the screen
moves to where Aragog and Harry and Ron are. This doesn't affect the
fight in any way. You can also skip the part where Ron is separated
from you when Lockhart Obliviates himself by walking along the wall.
This can help in the battle against the Basilisk because you get to use
Ron too! Fawkes replaces Lockhart in the battle screen.
- Jeff Shao

Well, Id like to thank my producer, director, and of course my make-up
artist, without whom I would never be here...
A lot of people have contributed to this guide in some way or another,
and this is where I wish to acknowledge them and thank them for their
contributions. I might not have been able to get your name right, because
sometimes I have to deduce it from your email address or from the From
field in the email so if its not right, Im sorry.
Thanks to:
* CjayC for creating GameFAQs
* CoolChrisMiller for hacking the 'Character Status' Gameshark Codes
* ArchAngel for most of the Folio Bruti and the CACs I missed.
* Tan Yi Jun for the Basilisk Tip and Lockhart and Fawkes's attacks.
* Dark Magician 2000 for part of the Bruti
* Dark Twilkitri for writing his Folio Triplicus Guide.
* Lady Death for CACs and Walkthrough Items
* Devon Vaughan Miller for Basilisk Tip.
* Steve for the two side quest tips.
* Didron for info on the 'Dragon Skin Cloak' side-quest.
* Mr 'Wizard Poo' for info on the secret passages.
* Horklumps for who can level up what spells.
* Jeff Shao, for the location of card #6 and a couple of things to do
with WTWs.
* CWL, for the extra sickles I missed out, plus a FWAWC in Hagrids
Hut.
* gamejunkie2 (lol) for giving me (lol) an incentive to work harder
(lol) on this, lol. - sorry 'bout the lols, lol :) Also notified me of
some mistakes Id made :)
* Brett 'Nemesis' Franklin and Schlave for writing totally un-related
FAQs but giving me formatting and presentation inspiration.
* Jonathon Mathews for writing ASCII Generator, an awesome program
for making ASCII Art.
* Everyone on the GameFAQ Boards for being tolerant, patient and
answering my endless questions.
* Linkin Park, because they rock.
* JK Rowling for writing such an awesome series.
* Warner Brothers for having the vision to turn the series into a
series of movies.
* EA Games for transforming the movies into games.
Apart from them, there are some people who have made a huge contribution
to this, and I will eternally be grateful for.
Special thanks go out to:
Golden Goldeen, who actually started a Walkthrough, but never got round
to finishing it. It was REALLY complete, she even had the monsters you
could encounter in each area and the items you could win. But anyway, she
let me borrow her Review and stick it in as well as contributing stuff
to the Walkthrough and the Ron & Hermione section. She also forced me
into sticking in an amendment on my email policy :). Look out for her
Philosophers Stone Guide coming soon!
Lord Ardhamon, who has done a lot of work concerning Gameshark Codes
and has contributed a lot of the codes here. He has also supported
this document continually on the GameFAQs boards. Hes also got a
remarkable talent for coming up with long lists, which I, frankly,
dont have the patience for. Thanks for all your hard work!
Cara Diehm, from Griptonite Games, who bothered to reply to my email,
(I was surprised) and gave me a lot of useful information. Also from
Griptonite, Mike Dorgan, Lead Programmer who gave away the info that
allowed me to hack the Bruti codes. Big thanks to you guys! Good work
on the game!
My family, for putting up with me on the computer all day and not
making me eat too many vegetables. ^_^
If I've left you out (accidentally of course :) ) then email me and
I'll put you in.
I am happy to answer any question or receive comments, but please
check out the latest version of this document and make sure I haven't
already answered it in there.
If you find this guide on any site except GameFAQs email me with the
subject line 'Plagiarism' or something similar.
-=-=Wanted=-=-
This guide still is far from complete. Here's a list of the things
I still need.
- CAC Locations
- Bruti Locations
- Strategy for beating the bosses
- Tip or Tricks
- Additional Cheats
- Someone to do a Beast Location guide.
Contact me at: [email protected]
You can also IM me on MSN: [email protected]
Im not on that often, but on Saturday mornings I usually am (thats
Saturday morning NZ time, which works out about 4 oclock Friday
afternoon in the States. Also, Wednesday afternoons (US time Midnight
Tuesday)
Or you can snail mail me, my address is... just kidding.
-=-=Email Policy=-=-
These are the guidelines to follow when emailing me. If not adhered
to you risk being blocked.
- Contribution are welcome, check out the wanted list. Make sure you
state the source and try not to re-submit information already
included.
- ROM Requests. I will still accept these for a while and you will
receive a pre-written reply. Be sure to state the word ROM some
where in the subject line. Remember, ROMS are illegal and if anyone
asks, Microsoft gave it to you. (Im joking)
- Questions. Please check the latest version of the guide before
emailing me. If the answer is easily found in here you will be
ignored.
- Corrections. Definitely Welcome. Please state the version in
which the error was and what it is. Once again having the word
'Correction' or something similar in the subject line would help.
- Requests. Request anything! I dont guarantee Ill be able to put it
in but Ill definitely try.
- Criticism. Sure, as long as its constructive.
- Atrocious Spelling. Anything like Hez, Wazzup cuz, ah gottsa cupla
qs will be put in a special Laugh at this guy section. Oh yeah,
it will be ignored too.
- Death Threats. As long as you give me a 24 hour warning to settle
my affairs these are permissible.
- Spam/Chain Letters/Advertising. I will not accept any on this and
you will be blocked instantly. I dont believe that if I dont send
this on my house will suddenly collapse nor do I think that the
WonderVac will clean better than what I already have (despite the
fact I dont do any cleaning).
- Hosting. If you want to host this guide I may consider it. Send
the address of the site and I might get back to you.
- Due to a complaint I have received I have been bullied into adding
one more thing here, to quote the complainant a praise is welcome
notice. Of course, you dont have to, but it would be nice.
-=-=Approved Sites=-=-
These sites are the ONLY sites allowed to use this guide. If you
would like to host this guide email me. Failure to comply with the
terms stated in the Copyright Notice will result in action taken
out against you.

-=-=Un-related=-=-
As mentioned in the About me section, I do more than just write
walkthroughs (its called Having a Life).
My Website: I have a website called The LAB. It runs on PHP scripts and
all pages are dynamically generated. If you have experience
in PHP Programming or mySQL database Administration, do not
hesitate to contact me. Once Ive secured a web-server Ill
have the address here, and youll be able to join. If you are
interested in writing reviews etc... or becoming a forum
moderator, contact me also.
I also need a reliable web server, preferably with lots of
space and bandwidth (PHP and mySQL not necessary, as Ill
have my scripts on a separate server). If you know where I
can get one FREE, ads dont matter, please email me.
Programming: Wanted: People with programming experience in C/++ and
DirectX (though not necessary). If youre interested in
on a Card Game (its not a normal card game but I cant
divulge too many details at the moment, except, think
MTG crossed with Yu-gi-oh crossed with Advance Wars (GBA)
crossed with Chess (yes, the board game).
ASCII Art: Writing a Walkthrough and cant come up with a good banner
or ASCII name? Email me with the details and Ill see if
I can hook you up with one for free.

Hopefully you have found this document helpful. Thats what these
things are here for, arent they? I am sure you will have enjoyed the
game and, like me, will eagerly await the release of Harry Potter and
the Prisoner of Azkaban. You can be sure that come the end of this
year youll be seeing yet another guide by me, for an even better
game than this.
If youre at a loss and dont know what to do, here are a couple of
games you may enjoy (or at least I did):
GBA:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Golden Sun (watch out for GS 2, The Lost Age coming out soon)
V-Rally 3
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers
Mario Kart Super Circuit
Advance Wars
New!: Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby
GT3 Advance Pro Concept Racing (check out my guide at GameFAQs)
New!: 007 Nightfire (also check out my guide on GameFAQs)
Gamecube:
Medal of Honour: Frontline (awesome multiplayer)
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Legends of Zelda (okay, its got cell-shading but its still Zelda, isnt
it)
Sorry, but I couldnt come up with any GBC games. As a reviewer
on GameFAQs put it - The last great GBC game, Harry Potter.
Or you could jump on the ol internet. Get on the GameFAQ boards.
We wont give you too hard a time...
Whatever you do, dont stand still - time doesnt.
