01. ABOUT LINK
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
Link is a character that you start with in the game. You have to do absolutely
nothing to earn him. In my opinion he is the best character in this game and yet he
isn’t a secret character. Weird isn’t it, but it makes it easier to get good with
him right away.

-----------------------
02. WHAT LINK’S LIKE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
I love to use link in any battle and here’s why. He is good in any type of
situation, for example: He’s got 3 long-range attacks, all good ones too, and
amazing close combat moves which will scare any opponent.

He is a very good ONE-ON-ONE opponent because if they get far way he keeps them on
their toes constantly with long range attacks and no one likes to have to keep
dodging. If they get near him he’s got very powerful smash attacks, and lots of them
too, and small moves that quickly rack up the damage.

In FREE-FOR-ALL he is amazing because if he gets surrounded then he hits them with a
very powerful special upward B attack that sends everyone to their doom. Instead of
going in close combat he also can sit far away and shoot everyone with his arrows,
boomerang, or my personal favorite bombs. (Bombs can hit more people than one)

He’s great to have as a TEAMMATE because he can back any close-combat teammate up
with long range attacks, DON’T USE BOMBS, they can hit your teammate and if he’s a
person really annoy him. (Sometimes it’s funny though) If you don’t want to just sit
there and rack up the damage against you opponents, you can go in for the kill in
close combat by using all his most powerful finishing attacks.

03.	A-ATTACKS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
[Neutral-A]
Link will perform two small attacks with his sword. If you keep pressing it
repeatedly, very fast, he will do a special combo of small attacks that ring up the
damage.
Try to get your opponents against a wall and do that to keep them from getting away
and do as mush damage as you’d like. There are a few downsides to this move, one of
them is that if you do it, it leaves your character very vulnerable to any other
opponent around you. It’s best to do if there is only one opponent. Another downside
is that you have to press is very, very fast and I personally get tired hands if I
do it for too long.

[Slightly Forward-A]
You do a bit more of a powerful slash, with your sword, then the neutral-A

[Slightly Down-A]
He does a downward slice with his sword. Semi- powerful and good to use against
small opponents. It knocks them pretty high up.

[Slightly Up-A]
It’s a small upward slash. Quick but not so powerful.

04.	SMASH A-ATTACKS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
[Forward-A]
Link will do a very powerful sword slash, but what makes it even better is that
right after he does it press a just A again to make it a two slash combo. The second
one is even more powerful than the first.

[Downward-A]
He does a very nice downward slash in front of him, and then behind him. Good for if
you are surrounded.

[Upward-A]
Link will perform a 3 combo slash that does massive damage. First he knocks his
opponents up just a little, enough for him to juggle them with the second part of
the combo. The second part does the same as the first, but he third sends them
flying high.

-----------------------
.05	SWEET B-ATTACKS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
[Neutral B-Arrow]
A great long range move that can be made more powerful and have a bigger distance of
flight by holding B. The best part about it is that you can hold it in your bow for
as long as you want and wait for the easy shot. The only thing is that you can’t
move when your charging it.

[Forward B-Boomerang]
A very tricky long range attack that can hit an opponent just about where ever he is
on the battle stage. If you hold forward when he’s throwing in he will give it a
bigger distance to attack. If you hold diagonal up right as he’s about to throw it
then you throw it diagonal up, same as for diagonal down except for that it goes
down. This move is great for bouncy opponents.

[Downward B-Bomb]
Link pulls out a bomb which you can throw hard at your opponent by pressing down B
while holding it. A nice little thing about it is that you can move around with it
while it’s in you hand, just don’t hold it too long or it’ll blow up in your face
and hurt yourself. The only bad thing about it is you can hurt yourself and your
teammates, so be careful when using it.

[Upward B-Spin Attack]
This move is my personal favorite move that Link’s got for a few reasons. It kills
people at even low health, it hits on both sides of him at the same time, it lasts a
while, it doesn’t just knock people far away but also a little downward which makes
it harder for most characters to make it back to the battle stage, and the best part
is that it’s a little different in the air. In the air it hits people on every side
of link except for below him. It gets them stuck in the spinning then at the end of
the move in nails them far, far away.

-----------------------
06.	OPPONENTS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
[Swordsmen: Link, Young Link, Marth, Roy]
Against Swordsmen, you want to be the first to act. Start juggling combos from above
and below, and then try to trap them in your multi-hitting sword slashes (done by
pressing A quickly). Throws are handy to keep them out of commission for a moment or
two. Just don't give them a chance to hit you, and they're putty in your hands.

[Speedsters: Fox, Pikachu, Falco, Pichu, Captain Falcon]
When facing other speedsters, it's a race to be the first to entrap the other in a
series of quick hits. Be the first, and you're fine. You can damage your opponent a
ton and then finish them. If you get caught, dodge, jump, do whatever it takes to
get out of your opponent's grip so you can try to get back at your foe.

[Close Range: Dr. Mario, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Mr. Game & Watch, Ice Climbers]
You want to treat these guys like Swordsmen. Toss them around and entrap them in
multiple back and forth hits with the arrows. It's also a good idea to use bombs and
the forward smash attack.

[Long Range: Ness, Samus, Mewtwo]
Get close to these guys other wise you maght as well just keep killing yourself,
these guys love to just keep pounding at you so attack their weakpoint, close
combat. Otherwise, treat these guys like Close Ranges, and juggle more than you
normally would, since that's their weak point. [Lightweights: Kirby, Jigglypuff,
Peach, Zelda] Don't let these guys touch the ground, and they'll have a lot more
trouble. Since Links smash attacks tend to send enemies high in the air, use them a
lot. Edge-guard like crazy, and long range guys shouldn't be able to harm you badly.

[Heavyweights: Donkey Kong, Bowser, Ganondorf]
Heavyweights are the difficult ones for Link. Basically, do what you usually do and
don't give them breathing room. You'll want to rely more on arrow, bombs, and the
boomerang, since these guys have mostly close-up attacks. Also, be sure to blast at
them with finishing attacks.

07. SECRETS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
Link has a few things that not many people know about him. First or all if you press
the Z button in mid air you will use the hookshot as an attack, but you can also use
it to hang from the edge if you hit it right. It is very tricky to use but it has
saved me many a battles. What you do is first your midair jump and then you dodge
toward the edge you can surprisingly still use your hookshot to hook the edge, be
sure not to be too close or you wont hook the edge, when you are hanging there with
your hookshot press Z again to pull yourself up and then press upward-B. It all
sounds like a lot but you will get it down after a few tries. Only do this if you
don’t think your upward-B will allow you to make it back to the battle stage.

If you have a teammate and they grab the opponent tell whom ever is on your team to
keep hitting them while holding them. The reason is if you get close to the opponent
you can do your neutral A repeatedly and there is no way for them to escape. I love
to sometimes get the opponent to 999%.
