1. INTRODUCTION
Hi. I wrote this Guide to help fellow Need for Speed freaks like myself
understand what cars are in the game, and which ones are the best. This Guide
will also show you what prize money you will win for each Event, which tracks
those Events are raced on, the difficulty of each, and a strategy for each
Event.
Need for Speed: High Stakes is a wonderful arcade racer with all the trimmings.
It's one of the many Need for Speed games from Electronic Arts, and so far it's
the best one, with Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit following close behind. :)

so hard? Oh well. Got everything that I want in this Guide, so there shouldn't

4. Cars
Terminology:
----------------
///.............. Rankings for each aspect of a vehicle. 10 of these
"///" means that that aspect of the car is the best,
while 1 of these "///" means that that aspect of the
car stinks. It's on a scale of 1-10.
Acceleration..... Determines how fast a car can gain speed, or
"accelerate".
Top Speed........ The Top Speed of a car tells how fast the car is
capable of going in MPH.
Brakes........... The Brakes are what causes the car to stop, and the
better the brakes, the easier and faster your car
will stop or slow down.
Handling......... This aspect of a car tells you how well the car can
handle while racing. The better a car handles, the
easier it is to win races.
Overall.......... This ranking shows you how good the car is in all aspects,
and how well it performs against other cars.

1) Q: How many cars are there in NFS: High Stakes?
A: There are about 14 cars, NOT including hidden ones?
2) Q: Ok then, how many hidden ones are there?
A: There are three hidden cars to race with, and one helicopter. :)
3) Q: How many tracks are there in NFS: High Stakes?
A: There are around 10 tracks in the game.
4) Q: What is the best car in the game?
A: Either the McLaren or the Mercedes CLK-GTR. Those are the best.
5) Q: Why is this game so HARD?
A: I dunno. Maybe EA wanted to make it more...um...challenging.
6) Q: Why can't I use in
?
A: Because there are rules that apply for almost every race where only
certain cars can enter. Sorry.
7. Secrets
-Activate Horn
To toggle the horn, hold R1 and press Up while driving.
-Activate Lights
To toggle lights, press the corresponding buttons while driving.
-Hazard lights -- hold L1 and press Down
-Head lights -- hold L1 and press Up
-Left turn signal -- hold L1 and press Left
-Right turn signal -- hold L1 and press Right
-Siren * -- hold L1 and press Up
* Pursuit vehicles only.

-Bonus Music Tracks
First, go to the audio options from the main menu. Then go to the cd player and
select it. Go all the way to the bottom, and there are two music tracks that are
turned off. Just turn them on, and you can listen to them while your driving.

At the Loading screen, press and hold Up + L2 + R1

-Easier Tickets
Enter Pursuit Mode and choose a cop car. When the game starts, hold L1 and press
UP to turn off your sirens. The person running will slow down. When you've
caught up to him, press L1 + UP to turn your sirens back on, then pull him over.

To unlock the helicopter, you must arrest 10 speeders using every police vehicle
in Hot Pursuit mode.
