All signs point to Reshef the Dark Being, and Ishizu Ishtar predicts that the world will be engulfed in darkness if nothing is done soon Someones got to embark on a dangerous mission to find Yami Yugi and save the world from destruction - and all eyes on you! This story takes place after the events of Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Scared Cards, even though the manual doesnt inform you of this. ############################################################################### 4) Characters ############################################################################### Main Character: You, the player, are the main character in the game and a good friend of Yugi and Joey. Its up to you, Yugi and friends to stop Reshef the Dark Being and save the world! Yugi Muto: When Yugi solved the Millennium Puzzle, he gained dark and mysterious powers. Hes got a big heart and is always genuine in his efforts to help others. Yami Yugi: Yami Yugi is Yugis alter ego. He used to be locked inside the Millennium Puzzle. Tea Gardner: Tea is a childhood friend of Yugis. Although Yugi doesnt realise it, Tea has a crush on him and always tries to help him when she can. Joey Wheeler: Joey comes off as a tough kid from the street, but really he has a heart of gold. Hes short-tempered and extremely protective of his friends. He is also one of Yugis most trusted partners. Serenity Wheeler: Serenity is Joeys younger sister. Although they were separated when their parents separated, the two relatives reunited when Joey entered the Duellist Kingdom Tournament to pay for Serenitys eye operation. Seto Kaiba: After taking over his stepfathers empire, Seto became the president of the Kaiba Corporation. He is one of the best, and probably the most aloof, of all Duel Monsters players in the world. Mokuba Kaiba: Mokuba idolises his big brother Seto, as Seto was his only friend when they grew up in an orphanage. After they were adopted by the notorious Gozaboro Kaiba, the two brothers eventually turned the tables on Gozaboro and took over the Kaiba Corporation. Ishizu Ishtar: Ishizu is the owner of the Millennium Necklace, priestess and guardian of the Pharaohs Memory, and seer who predicts the coming darkness. She is the first to sense the threat posed by the resurrection of Reshef the Dark Being and asks the player, Yugi and friends for help. Marik Ishtar: Marik was the leader of the Ghouls and the villain of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Scared Cards, but Bandit Keith and Sol Chevalsky have now taken over his respective positions. Marik lives a normal live in Egypt, and is one of the only duellists who knows the secret of The Winged Dragon of Ra. The Big Five: The Big Five are the former directors of the Kaiba Corporation. After attempting to trap Seto Kaiba in the Virtual World, Seto himself trapped them there, but it seems that they have somehow returned to the real world and now want their old jobs back Sol Chevalsky: Sol Chevalsky is actively planning the destruction of the world. He sends assassins and disciples to stop the main character and friends everywhere they go. No one seems to know anything about Sol Chevalsky, but there is something awfully familiar about him Neo Ghouls/Bandit Keith: This feared group of hunters who steal rare cards from other duellists has been reborn as the Neo Ghouls. After the loss of Marik, Bandit Keith took over the group, but their actions and their true objectives are still a closely guarded secret ############################################################################### 5) Game Controls ############################################################################### =============================================================================== A. Maps ******************************************************************************* There are two different kinds of Map Screens in the game. Use the Local Map when walking around the city and the World Map to get an overall view of both Domino Town and the rest of the game world. You can walk around, talk to other characters and duel on the local map. The size of the map changes depending on your location. For maps that are two or more screens wide, move to the edge of one screen to display the next page of the map. To enter a building, simply walk right up to the entrance. You can use the World Map to move to various locations inside Domino Town and around the world. As the story unfolds, you will be able to go to more and more places. Select the location you want to go to with the Control Pad and press the A Button. ******************************************************************************* B. Actions ******************************************************************************* Move the main character with the Control Pad. Hold down the B Button when moving to make the character move twice as fast. Press the A Button when another character is standing directly in front of you to talk to that character. You never know which character will share an important piece of information, so try to talk to as many people as possible. To challenge another duellist to a duel, press the R Button when that character is standing directly in front of you. Press Start or Select on the Map Screen to display the menu. Use this menu to view information about the main character or check the cards in your Trunk and Deck. Press Up or Down on the Control Pad to select a menu item and then press the A Button to enter your selection. Press the B Button to return to the Map Screen. ******************************************************************************* C. Main Characters Room ******************************************************************************* You can recover Life Points and save game data in the Main Characters Room. Stand in front of the computer and press the A Button. The screen will flash as you recover Life Points. After you recover Life Points, you will be asked if you want to save game data or not. Select Yes and press the A Button to save game data. Select No and press the A Button if you decide not to save game data. ******************************************************************************* D. Grandpas Game Shop ******************************************************************************* You can buy or sell cards here. You cannot sell a card when you only have one copy in your Trunk. Enter the shop and talk to Grandpa. Select Buy Cards or Sell Cards with the Control Pad and press the A Button. The more powerful the card, the higher the price. If a shop has a very limited number of copies of a particular card, the price of that card will be higher. The price you get for a card will decrease if the shop already has several copies of the card. Each time you win a duel, dozens of cards are delivered to the shop at random. If you correctly enter the 8-digit numerical password printed on the bottom left of each Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game card into the Password Machine located inside Grandpas Game Shop, the shop will receive one copy of that card. Note that it costs 1,000 Domino to use the machine. ############################################################################### 7) Duelling Cards ############################################################################### ******************************************************************************* A. Monster Cards ******************************************************************************* Monster Cards are the basic cards used to attack an opponent. Monster Cards must be set in the Monster Card Zone before you can give commands to monsters. First, lets take a look at the Type, Summon and Level information for Monster Cards. There are 20 different monster types. Type affects the ATK and DEF Points of a monster when in different types of terrain. For example, sea creatures are at a distinct disadvantage when fighting in the middle of a wasteland. When a monster is well-suited to the terrain, there is a positive Terrain Effect that increases both ATK and DEF Points (eg. 1000 < 1300). When a monster is ill-suited to the terrain, there is a negative Terrain Effect that decreases both ATK and DEF Points (eg. 1000 < 700). There are 11 different Summons that can effect the outcome of a duel. Some Summons are superior to others. When a monster with a superior Summon attacks one with an inferior Summon (or a monster with an inferior Summon attacks one with a superior Summon), the monster with the superior Summon will always win, regardless of ATK and DEF strengths. Divine is the only Summon which is exempt from this rule. The following chart shows the icons used to represent Summons in the game as well as their hierarchical relationships. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pyro < Forest < Wind < Earth < Thunder < Aqua ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shadow < Light < Fiend < Dreams < Shadow < Light ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Each Monster Card has a set Level which corresponds to the overall strength of the card and is indicated by the number of stars (from 1 to 12) shown on the card. To summon a monster of Level 5 or higher, you will need to offer the required number of Tributes for that Monster Level. In addition to Normal Monster Cards, there are also Effect Monster Cards that have some kind of special effect and Ritual Monster Cards that can only be summoned onto the field with a special summon. The special effects of Effect Monster Cards can only be activated after you have summoned them and placed them face-down on the field. The five Monster Cards that are immune to the effects of these cards are as follows: 1. Obelisk the Tormentor 2. Slifer the Sky Dragon 3. The Winged Dragon of Ra (Battle Mode) 4. The Winged Dragon of Ra (Sphere Mode) 5. The Winged Dragon of Ra (Phoenix Mode) The basic abilities of Ritual Monster Cards are no different from those of other Monster Cards, but they can be summoned in two ways. One way is to place the card in your Deck and summon the Ritual Monster Card just as you would a Normal Monster Card. The other way allows you to summon a Ritual Monster Card even when it is not in your Deck. By using a Ritual Card and offering three monsters as Tributes, you can summon a Ritual Monster Card. ******************************************************************************* B. Special Cards ******************************************************************************* There are a variety of Special Cards with many different effects. When used wisely, they can help keep you in the lead during a duel or turn the tables on your opponent. Special Cards should be placed face-down in the Special Card Zone on the field. Special Cards can be divided into three different categories based on their effects. These are Magic Cards, Trap Cards and Ritual Cards. There are three different types of Magic Cards: Normal Magic Cards affect players or cards, Field Magic Cards change the terrain of the field, and Power-Up Magic Cards increase the abilities of certain Monster Cards. Magic Cards affect players or cards as soon as they are used. Trap Cards all have a set of conditions which, when met, activate the trap. When an opponent performs an action such as attacking or summoning and that action meets the conditions on the Trap Card, the Trap Card effect is activated. There are many different types of activation conditions. Trap Cards placed face-down in the Special Card Zone during your turn may be activated automatically during your opponents next turn. They remain on the field until they are activated and are destroyed after activation. Ritual Cards are used to summon a monster onto the field with a Ritual Summon. Each Ritual Card can only be used to summon the monster indicated on the card. To summon a specific Ritual Monster (indicated on the Ritual Card) to the field, you need to have two monsters (it doesnt matter what kind) on the field to use as tributes. Activate the Ritual Card, which should be facedown in the Special Card Zone, to complete the Ritual Summon. ############################################################################### 8) Deck Building ############################################################################### ******************************************************************************* A. Deck Building Rules ******************************************************************************* In order to create a deck, you must comply with the rules as follows: 1. A deck must consist of 40 cards. 2. You cannot use a card with a cost higher than your own Duellist Level. 3. The total cost of the 40 cards in your deck cannot exceed your Deck Capacity. 4. You can have up to three copies of the same card in your deck. Building Your Deck ******************************************************************************* Use the Deck Screen Controls and the Trunk Screen Controls to build your Deck. Remember that a deck can only contain 40 cards, so when you want to re-build your deck, you will need to remove any unwanted extra cards from your deck before adding new cards from the Trunk. Press Up or Down on the Control Pad to scroll through the card list and select a card. Press the A Button to display the Deck Menu. Select Details and press the A Button to view detailed data for the selected card. Select Add to Trunk and press the A Button to return the selected card to the Trunk. ############################################################################### 9) Duelling Duellists ############################################################################### ******************************************************************************* A. Duel Flow ******************************************************************************* You can challenge any of the characters on the map to a duel. Stand directly in front of the character you wish to duel and press the R Button to challenge him/her to a duel. The duel starts immediately. Select a card to bet on the duel. This card is called the Ante Card. The winner receives one card from the loser. If you lose the duel, you will lose your Ante Card. However, it is not necessary to bet a card in order to participate in a duel. When you win cards from an opponent you have defeated, the card you receive will depend greatly on the card you selected as your Ante Card. If you bet a high-level card, then you will receive a high-level card from your opponent. If you bet a low-level card, then you will receive a low-level card. If you have only one copy of a card in your Trunk, you may not use that card as your Ante Card. ******************************************************************************* B. Duel Rules ******************************************************************************* A duel ends when either player meets the following conditions: 1. The first player to reduce his/her opponents Life Points to 0 is declared the winner. 2. If a player runs out of cards and cannot refill his/her hand, that player loses. 3. A player who holds the five Exodia Series cards in his/her hand at any time during a duel is declared the winner. 4. A player with the Destiny Board card and all four Spirit Message cards in the Special Card Zone is automatically declared the winner. *Duellists begin with 8000 Life Points each. *Attack order is determined randomly at the beginning of a duel. *Only one duellist at a time can attack. The right to attack passes back and forth each turn. *At the beginning of each turn, you may draw one card from the deck to put in your hand. If you already have five cards in your hand, you may not draw any more cards. *Cards are always placed on the field in face-down position. You may issue commands to or use cards after they are placed on the field. *Your turn ends when you have finished taking action (select the Turn End command from the Sub-Menu). *It is not necessary to place cards on the field or issue commands to cards on the field each and every turn. You may end your turn without taking any action. *You may place only one Monster Card on the field from your hand per turn. *You can place up to five Monster Cards on the field at one time. However, if there are already five Monster Cards on the field, you cannot place any new Monster Cards on the field from your hand (use the Discard command from the Sub-Menu to discard Monster Cards on the field). *You may only give one command to each Monster Card on the field per turn. *Monster Cards are placed on the field in face-down position. They are changed to face-up position when you give them commands, unless you command the monster to Defend, in which case it remains in face-down position. If you place a monster on the field, fail to give it a command and end your turn, the monster automatically switches to face-up Attack position. *Monster Cards in face-down position change to face-up position when they are attacked. *Once a Monster Card is placed in face-up position, it remains in that position until the end of the duel. *Monster Cards that are destroyed in battle or by spell effects are sent to the Graveyard, and as a general rule cannot be used again in the same duel. *You can place as many Special Cards from your hand on the field as you wish during a turn. *You can place up to five Special Cards on the field at once. However, if there are already five Special Cards on the field, you cannot place any new Special Cards on the field from your hand (use the Discard command from the Sub-Menu to discard Special Cards on the field). *You can use as many of the Special Cards on the field as you like during a turn. *Special Cards are placed on the field in face-down position and must remain so until they are used. *Special Cards that have been used or destroyed cannot be played again during the same duel. ############################################################################### 10) Link Play ############################################################################### ******************************************************************************* A. Link Duel ******************************************************************************* Connect 2 Game Boy Advance systems with the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable to play a Link Duel by doing the following steps: 1. Link up the two Game Boy Advance systems. 2. Select Continue at the Title Screen. 3. Select Link Duel from the Game Menu and press the A Button. The following rules apply to Link Duels: *Deck Building and Duel rules are the same as the main game. *Both players begin with 8,000 Life Points. *Your Deck Capacity increases each time you play a Link Duel. It increases [+10] if you win the Duel and [+5] if you lose. This is an excellent way to increase your Deck Capacity since your opponent can lose on purpose to give you [+10] Deck Capacity. *You cannot bet cards in Link Duels and you do not earn any Money if you win the Duel. Select Link Duel from the Game Menu and press the A Button to display the Link Duel Menu. Press Up or Down on the Control Pad to select menu items. Trunk displays the Trunk Screen, while Deck displays the Deck Screen. Deck Capacity shows the upper limit of your DC. Both players should set Deck Capacity to the same number. Press Up or Down on the Control Pad to increase/decrease the Deck Capacity limit in increments of 100. Press Start to set the Deck Capacity limit to the maX (65000). Press the A Button to set the Deck Capacity limit to the minimum required value. The minimum required value is the smallest Deck Capacity limit that will allow you to duel based on the cost of the cards currently in your deck. For example, if the total card cost of your deck is 1513, then the minimum required value is 1600. After setting the Deck Capacity limit, do the following steps: 1. Use the Trunk and Deck Menus to build a deck. Follow the Deck Building Rules to build a deck of 40 cards, but make sure that the total card cost is not greater than the Deck Capacity limit. 2. When the decks are ready, both players select Start and press the A Button. 3. Attack order is determined randomly as the duel begins. 4. When the duel is over, the Deck Capacity of each player increases based on the outcome of the duel. Players are returned to the Link Menu. ******************************************************************************* B. Duelling Tips ******************************************************************************* This section contains tips on how to defeat your opponents by using clever and sneaky strategies. Read the following tips if you want to counter every possible deck that can be made by duellists. The majority of duellists will use their Egyptian God Cards against you, most notably Slifer the Sky Dragon due to its unique special ability. Fortunately, there is one way to destroy this powerful beast. Place a Dragon Capture Jar on the field and Slifer won't be able to attack, making it useless. If your opponent has already used up his/her Harpie's Feather Duster, you won't have to worry about Slifer being able to attack again. However, Slifer is probably still too powerful to destroy by using brute force, but there is a solution. Summon Obelisk the Tormentor or The Winged Dragon of Ra (Phoenix Mode) to the field and use their special abilities to destroy the God Card once and for all. If you have Monster Reborn in your hand, use it to bring back Slifer under your control. Since you and your opponent begin with 8,000 Life Points, there is a sneaky way to win the duel in your first turn. If you're lucky enough to have The Winged Dragon of Ra (Phoenix Mode) and Dian Keto the Cure Master in your opening hand, discard Ra's Phoenix Mode to summon Ra's Battle Mode and activate the Cure Master. Since your Life Points are now 13000, you can use Ra's special ability to decrease your opponent's Life Points to zero. The Destiny Board is an excellent card to end a difficult duel in five turns. If your opponent has used up his/her Harpie's Feather Duster, he/she will have a hard time trying to defeat you. If your opponent also has a Destiny Board in his/her deck, I advise destroying it with Harpie's Feather Duster before the final Spirit Messenge appears on your Destiny Board to prevent him/her from placing any Magic or Trap Cards on the field. If your opponent has a Castle of Dark Illusions in his/her deck, he/she will probably use the Obelisk the Tormentor/Castle of Dark Illusions combo on you. Make sure you have some Magic Cards ready to destroy the Castle or you'll be in trouble. Since Obelisk's special ability can decrease your Life Points by 4,000, all it takes is two attacks to defeat you. Even Swords of Revealing Light can't stop the attacks, so make sure you're prepared. If you're having trouble summoning your Egyptian God Cards in a duel, there are three cards that can help you summon them in one turn. These cards are Monster Reborn, Brain Control and Change of Heart. Use them to steal three of your opponent's monsters, and you'll be able to sacrifice them to summon Slifer the Sky Dragon or Obelisk the Tormentor. This strategy can turn the tables on your opponent in a flash. Unlike the Hall of Eternity duellists, your opponent will only have one copy of the resticted cards in his/her deck. If you can trick him/her into using them all up, you won't have to worry about them again. If your opponent has been training a lot in the Hall of Eternity, he/she will probably have loads of restricted cards, such as Jinzo, Castle of Dark Illusions, Dark Flare Knight, Relinquished and Thousand-Eyes Restrict, in his/her deck. Have some Magic Cards ready to destroy them before your opponent can use their special abilities to turn the tide in his/her favour. If your opponent's deck is based on summoning the Egyptian God Cards, he/she will probably have monsters with multiplying special abilities in his/her deck. Ancient Lamp, Revival Jam, Doron and Toad Master are the most commonly used multiplying monsters in a duel. Fortunately, three of them can be easily taken down by Thunder-type monsters. Ancient Lamp is the strongest multiplying monster as it can summon La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp which can be powered up the Yami field if your opponent has a Castle of Dark Illusions on the field. If a Gernia is in your opponent's Graveyard, he/she is probably planning to summon Puppet Master and use its unique special ability. If your opponent uses monsters, such as Big Shield Gardna and Millennium Shield, to protect his/her Life Points, I advise putting 3 Stop Defence cards in your deck. Although these monsters are excel in defence, their ATK Points are low. Tricking your opponent into attacking is the key to defeating him/her. Use Beckon to Darkness to destroy the monsters. ******************************************************************************* C. Card Trade ******************************************************************************* Connect 2 Game Boy Advance systems with the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable to trade cards by doing the following steps: 1. Link up the two Game Boy Advance systems. 2. Select Continue at the Title Screen. 3. Select Card Trade from the Game Menu and press the A Button. The following rules apply to Card Trades: *You can trade cards in your Trunk. You cannot trade any of the cards in your Deck. *You cannot trade a card if there is only 1 copy of that card in your Trunk. *Players do not need to trade the same number of cards. In fact, a trade can occur even if one of the players doesn't select any cards to trade. *Your Deck Capacity increases each time you trade cards. It increases [+2] for both players. Select Card Trade from the Game Menu and press the A Button to display the Trade Menu. Press Up or Down on the Control Pad to select menu items. Select displays the Trunk Screen. The trade Trunk Screen is basically the same as the Trunk Screen in the main game except for some differences on the right side. Use the Trunk Screen to select cards to trade. Press the B Button to return to the Trade Menu. After selecting the cards, do the following steps: 1. Select [Select] and press the A Button to display the Trunk Screen. 2. Select a card and press the A Button to display the Deck Menu. Select a menu item and press the A Button to enter your selection. Select [Details] to display detailed data for the selected card. Select [Select] to add one copy of the card to the Trade List. Select [Select All] to keep only 1 copy in your Trunk and add all of the remaining copies of that card to the Trade List. Chapter 1: A New Evil Arises ******************************************************************************* After youve named the main character, youll start the game inside your house. Joey is examining your deck for the new Duel Monsters Tournament when Yugi arrives on the scene, explaining that Yami Yugi and the Millennium Puzzle are missing. Since you and Joey are his friends, both of you agree to help him find it. Head south to Clock Tower Square to meet Tea, who is shocked to hear about the disappearance of the Millennium Puzzle. Ishizu Ishtar arrives on the scene, and informs you that the seven Millennium Items have vanished and that the three Egyptian God Cards - Silfer the Sky Dragon, Obelisk the Tormentor and The Winged Dragon of Ra - have been turned to stone. Ishizu predicts that the world will be engulfed in darkness if nothing is done soon, so you must recover the Millennium Items to return the God Cards to normal. At this point in the game, your deck probably isnt the greatest in the world. Since your Duellist Level is low, you wont be able to use powerful monsters for a long time yet. For now, I advise challenging the duellists around the Clock Tower Square. Once youre defeated them, duel Duke Devlin and Tristan Taylor at the Card Shop. While Tristans monsters arent anything to brag about, you can still increase your Deck Capacity and receive money from him. Dukes monsters are more useful, so keep duelling him until you have ten monsters with 700+ Attack. Purchase some Trap Cards from Yugis Grandpa, but dont buy any monster cards. Theyre too expensive at the moment, and you should save your money for monsters with 1000+ Attack anyway. Challenge Yugi in the Game Shop to obtain his Spellbinding Circle Trap Cards. Although you cant use them at this point in the game, you can sell them to Grandpa to receive some money. Yugi also has the Exodia Series cards as ante prizes, so sell them as well. If you visit the Kaiba Corporation, youll find Rebecca arguing with Mokuba. She wants Seto to duel her because he tore up her grandfathers Blue-Eyes White Dragon card. Seto agrees to duel her - provided she can defeat you first. Since Rebecca has monsters with 900 ATK Points, she is probably too difficult to beat at the moment. I suggest challenging her before you retrieve the first Millennium Item, as she will leave after you have collected the Item. ******************************************************************************* B. Chapter 2: The Search for the Millennium Items, Part 1 ******************************************************************************* The first Millennium Item is located at the Egyptian Exhibition, so you must go to the Domino Station and travel there by boarding the Duel Express. Talk to the employees, and one of them will ask you if youre a duellist. Choose the yes option to challenge them to a duel. With the employees defeated, continue onward. Panik, a cowardly bully and one of the former Duellist Kingdom Eliminators, makes his dramatic entrance. There are four duellists in this area. Duel them to get their cards. After that, talk to the employee nearby. After boarding the Duel Express, attempt to fight the duellists inside. They wont challenge you until the train starts moving, so talk to the employee to the left to start the tournament. Once you defeat the three duellists, board the next train. As the train enters a tunnel, Panik arrives on the scene and challenges you to a duel. Once you defeat Panik, youll arrive at the Egyptian Exhibition. Chase after the cowardly bully to find a door blocked by a boy. After talking to him, hell allow you to pass. When you enter the hidden room, youll find Panik knocked out. One of the seven Millennium Item Keepers is here, and he is willing to hand over the Millennium Necklace - provided you can defeat him in a duel. After the duel, youll receive the Millennium Necklace which shows you a vision of the future. As you leave the Egyptian Exhibition, Seto Kaiba and his brother Mokuba appear to talk to you. While Mokuba thinks his brother is offering to help you, Seto announces that he will save the world on his own. Although Mokuba is disappointed about this, he supports his brothers decision. As the two Kaiba brothers leave, Seto laughs that the three Egyptian God Cards will soon belong to him. Return to the Clock Tower Square and save your game at your house. When youre ready, talk to Ishizu to start a duel with the Puppeteer of Doom. Once you defeat him, hell hand you an invitation from Sol Chevalsky. After seeing the holographic image, Ishizu will inform you that the second Millennium Item is located at the Domino Pier. After challenging the duellist outside, enter the ship and youll see Jean-Claude Magnum asking Mai to marry him (again). Mai asks you to duel Magnum in her place, so use monsters that have 1000+ ATK Points to easily defeat him. After the duel, speak with Mai to discover that there is a mysterious cargo onboard the ship. When you enter the eastern room, youll see a Millennium Item Keeper. After defeating him, youll receive the Millennium Key which houses Shadis memories. Show Ishizu the Millennium Key to revive Slifer the Sky Dragon. Since Yami Yugi earned this Egyptian God Card, Yugi refuses to take it. Instead, Ishizu hands over the God Card to you. Before you get too excited about Slifer, remember that you must sacrifice three monsters in order to summon this powerful beast. After placing it in your deck, head for Italy to find the third Millennium Item. When you arrive in Italy, explore the Catacombs to find Bonz, who is now a tour guide for this place. Once you defeat him in a duel, Bandit Keith makes an appearance. After mocking Bonzs duelling deck, Keith informs you that he is the new leader of the Ghouls, who are now called the Neo Ghouls. Once Keith and his followers leave, Bonz reveals that there is a hidden room behind him. The third Millennium Item Keeper is here, so duel him to receive the Millennium Ring which houses Yami Bakuras memories. Yami Bakura laughs that the world will soon be engulfed in darkness. Once he disappears, talk to Ishizu to learn that the fourth Millennium Item is located in China. Once you arrive at your destination, speak with the two people in the area. The second person is guarding the entrance to a secret room, so head back to the first person. Challenge him to a duel, and hell introduce himself as Para, one of the two Paradox brothers. If hes too difficult to defeat, duel Joey Wheeler at the Game Shop until you receive three Baby Dragons and three Time Wizards. Use the Baby Dragon/Time Wizard combo to summon a Thousand Dragon without having to sacrifice two monsters. Once you defeat Para, the Paradox brothers decide to duel you together. Fortunately for you, Seto Kaiba arrives on the scene and offers to help you to defeat the Paradox brothers. Choose either Para or Dox as your duelling opponent, although I found that Dox was easier to defeat than Para. Once you and Seto defeat the Paradox brothers, they will retreat. Now enter the secret room to find the fourth Millennium Item Keeper, who has the Millennium Eye in his possession. After winning the duel, youll receive the Millennium Eye which houses Maximillion Pegasus memories. Show the Millennium Eye to Ishizu to revive Obelisk the Tormentor. However, this Egyptian God Card doesnt consider you to be worthy of being its master, so the powerful beast chooses Seto Kaiba as its master (for now anyway). Once Seto and Mokuba leave, Tristan will ask you to take Serenity to the Kaibaman Show. ******************************************************************************* C. Chapter 3: The Detour, Part 1 ******************************************************************************* The Kaibaman Show is being held at the Kaiba Corporation, so make your way there. When you arrive at Kaiba Corp, the Big Five will be asking Mokuba to rehire them. After Mokuba tells them to put on some costumes, enter the building to find Serenity, who is an actress on the Kaibaman Show. The Big Bad Five, who are really the Big Five themselves, walk onto the stage dressed as the Deck Masters they chose in the Virtual World. After Joey rescues Serenity from them, challenge the leader of the Big Five to a duel. Once you defeat him, theyll summon the Five God Dragon immediately. Roland, dressed as Kaibaman, appears on the stage and fuses the Black Luster Soldier and the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon to form the Master of Dragon Soldier. When the show finishes, head for Italy. Go east to find Bonz, who is doing a fortune-telling reading for Jean-Claude Magnum. Bonz predicts that he will be able to marry Mai if he can defeat three duellists in a row. Armed with this information, Magnum challenges you to a duel. Once you defeat him, hell leave to battle other duellists. Now return to the Clock Tower Square. Take the eastern route to find a sad Tea, who has just had her fortune read by Bonz. As she plucks up the courage to tell you, the ignorant Johnny Steps appears to greet Tea. Defeat Steps in a duel, and Cruck, one of the members of the Big Five, starts annoying Tea. Once you defeat him, Tea will thank you. ******************************************************************************* D. Chapter 4: The Search for the Millennium Items, Part 2 ******************************************************************************* Once youve completed the side quests, talk to Ishizu to learn that the fifth Millennium Item is located in Canada. Challenge the two duellists here to increase your Deck Capacity and improve your deck. Explore the cave nearby to find Rex Raptor, who challenges you to a duel. Once you defeat him, continue onward to find the fifth Millennium Item Keeper, who has the Millennium Rod in his possession. After the duel, youll learn that Marik is now living a normal live in Egypt. Talk to Ishizu to discover that the sixth Millennium Item is located at the Galappagos Islands. When you arrive at the Islands, inform Mako of the present situation. Next duel him a few times to get some cards with 1200+ Attack. As you explore the islands, youll notice Weevil Underwood. Ignore him for now, and enter the building nearby to find Yami Yugi, who has found the Millennium Scale. It turns out that he isnt Yami at all! Hes actually the dark personality of Seto Kaiba. Once you defeat him, youll receive the Millennium Scale. Show Ishizu the Millennium Items, and she will attempt to revive The Winged Dragon of Ra, but things go wrong. Slifer the Sky Dragon and Obelisk The Tormentor are turned back to stone! Ishizu realises that the seven Millennium Items must be gathered together in order to revive the three Egyptian God Cards. She instructs you to find Seto Kaiba immediately. ******************************************************************************* E. Chapter 5: The Detour, Part 2 ******************************************************************************* If you want to start another side quest, head for the Game Shop. Read Chapter 6 if you want to continue the story. TCG Master informed me of this side quest that takes place at this point in the game, so thanks for telling me about it. This side quest is optional and doesn't affect the game's ending if you complete it. You can, however, increase your Deck Capacity and Duellist Level by fighting the optional duellists. Head for the Game Shop, and the dog nearby will start barking. Tristan has gone missing, and Joey wonders if something has happened to him. Walk into the Game Shop, and Duke and Serenity will inform you that they think Tristan has been turned into a robotic monkey (again). It seems Tristan is at the Galappagos Islands. When you arrive at the Islands, you'll see four robotic monkeys enter the old building where you recently duelled Mimic of Doom. Defeat all the monkeys to save Tristan. Return to the Game Shop, and watch the scene. You can now duel Monkey Tristan in the Game Shop. ******************************************************************************* F. Chapter 6: The Neo Ghouls Strike ******************************************************************************* Head for the Kaiba Corporation, and talk to Seto. Seto decides to leave Kaiba Corp under Mokubas control, while he investigates how his God Card could be turned to stone. When you leave Kaiba Corp, youll notice that Clock Tower Square has been invaded by the evil Neo Ghouls. If you are low on money for purchasing some powerful cards from Grandpas Game Shop, you will now get the opportunity to receive about 300 Domino for each Ghoul you defeat. When the Ghouls leave the scene, go to another area and theyll appear there again. By using this tactic, you will eventually have enough money to buy useful Trap Cards such as Acid Trap Hole and Spellbinding Circle. I advise saving your game now, so head for your house. When you arrive near your house, youll see Rare Hunter summoning Exodia the Forbidden One to end a duel with one of Espa Robas brothers. Defeat the Rare Hunter to get to your house. Aside from his powerful defence monsters, he doesnt have any useful cards in his deck. Use your Trap Cards to take his defence monsters out before attacking his Exodia cards and his Life Points. If you head for the Game Shop, youll see Tristan and Duke save Serenity from a Ghoul. They wont duel you at the moment, so keep duelling the Ghouls again and again. It will make the game easier to beat. If you enter the north-eastern part of Clock Tower Square, youll see a duellist dressed up as a superhero. After he faints, examine him to trigger a duel with a Ghoul. If youre having problems defeating the Ghouls, its probably because you can no longer use Slifer the Sky Dragon. I suggest spending your money on three Infinite Dismissals, one Dark Flare Knight, three Beckon to Darkness, three Acid Trap Holes, one Invisible Wire, three Dorons, three Witty Phantoms and three Fiends Hands. Infinite Dismissals are superb when you realise that you pay 0 Deck Capacity for using them, one Dark Flare Knight can be discarded to summon Mirage Knight which in turn can summon the Dark Magician and Flame Swordsman, one Invisible Wire is good for destroying powerful monsters, three Dorons can help you with their special ability, three Witty Phantoms power up on the Yami Field, and three Fiends Hands can destroy any monster card in play. Unfortunately, these cards cost loads of Domino to purchase. However, once you have all these cards in your possession, your Deck Capacity will be really high and youll have access to powerful cards. With Ishizu kidnapped by the Ghouls and the town of Domino taken over by them, youll have to find five duellists to get rid of them. Fortunately, Mai can be found at Domino Pier, Weevil in China, Rex in Canada, Mako in the Galappagos Islands, and Bonz in Italy. However, youll have to defeat the Neo Ghouls in their way first. Head for Italy first, as the Ghouls there arent too difficult to defeat in my opinion. When you find Bonz, a Neo Ghoul will be asking him to join them to serve Bandit Keith. Bonz refuses to co-operate with them, as Keith stole his Star Chips at Duellist Kingdom. Challenge the Ghoul to save Bonz, who will agree to help you. Next head for the Islands to find Mako, who has noticed Strings. He asks you to investigate, so challenge Strings to a duel. Strings Revival Jam can cause you problems, but if you can summon a powerful monster, you can wipe out his Life Points before he can benefit from its special ability. Once you defeat Strings, Mako will make his way to the town of Domino. Now travel to China to find Weevil, who has been asked to join the Neo Ghouls by Lumis and Umbra. When Weevil tricks them into thinking that he wanted to join, the two duellists challenge you to a duel. Choose Lumis as your opponent, as I think he relies more on magic cards than monster cards to win a duel. Go to Canada to find Rex, who has been ambushed by the Neo Ghouls. Choose a Ghoul to duel, and defeat them to save Rex. Rex will leave for Domino, so head for Domino Pier to find Mai. After seeing Toseshi give up his rare cards to protect his girlfriend, enter the ship to see Mai using her Harpie Ladies to defeat a Neo Ghoul. Arkana sends more Ghouls to attack her, so you must defeat him to save her. Thanks to the Yami Field, Arkanas monsters are stronger than they normally are. For example, his Witty Phantom now has about 1800 Attack Points. Try to summon your own Witty Phantoms, or hope you draw Dark Flare Knight, so that you can summon Mirage Knight to end this duel immediately. Also, make sure you have a Stop Defence magic card in your deck. This card will prevent Arkana from placing his monsters in defence mode for one turn. With Clock Tower Square liberated from the Neo Ghouls, you must now find Ishizu. Head for Kaiba Corp to see Rare Hunter walking into the building. When you enter the building, youll see Ronald defeat the Big Bad Five once again. However, Rare Hunter gatecrashes the show and summons Exodia the Forbidden One to defeat him. The Big Five, amazed by this, decide to turn on Mokuba and join the Neo Ghouls. Espa Roba will walk in and duel the Big Five, while you have to duel Rare Hunter. His deck has improved since you last fought him, but your deck has improved as well. Use Stop Defence to prevent him from placing his monsters in defence mode and youll win the duel. Watch out for his powerful monsters though. Place some Trap Cards on the field to take them out. You now have to travel to the Egyptian Exhibition to rescue Ishizu, but its still being guarded by the Neo Ghouls. Fortunately, the Ghouls that were guarding the Domino Station are gone, so you can take the Duel Express to get there. However, the Ghouls have taken over the train, so youll have to duel three of them to make it to the Egyptian Exhibition. Once the train arrives at its destination, exit it and challenge the Ghouls nearby to get past them. Your Life Points are probably low by now, so head left to end up back at the World Map. Save your game at your house before returning to the Egyptian Exhibition. Take the eastern route to find Seto Kaiba, who has just used his Blue-Eyes White Dragon to defeat a Neo Ghouls. As Seto taunts them, he tells you to continue onward to find Ishizu. As you enter the next room, youll find Ishizu, who is being held hostage by Bandit Keith. Ishizu tries to convince Keith to help them save the world from Reshef the Dark Being, but Keith is abrupt in his demands - he wants the six Millennium Items that are currently in your possession. When you hand them over, Keith will show you the Millennium Puzzle. With seven Millennium Items, Keith succeeds in reviving The Winged Dragon of Ra. Fortunately, he only succeeds in reviving The Winged Dragon of Ras Sphere Mode, while Slifer the Sky Dragon is revived once again. Yugi transforms into Yami Yugi, as Keith challenges you to a duel. Keith is a fan of powerful machine monsters, so try to get Dark Flare Knight in your hand. Alternatively, summon Dark Magician Girl. With 2000 ATK Points, Magician Girl can take out most of Keiths monsters, but beware of Change of Heart. Keith will usually use this card to summon his Machine King. If you can take it out, the rest of his monsters should be easy to defeat with Magician Girl. After the duel, Keith faces the consequences of reviving an Egyptian God Card. Yami Yugi warns him that he about to receive Ras judgement, as he is struck down by lightning. Reshef the Dark Being takes control of Keith and forces him to smash the Millennium Puzzle to pieces. Yugi is devastated by this, especially when Para steals one piece of the Puzzle. As you leave the Egyptian Exhibition, youll see Seto Kaiba wondering how his Egyptian God Card could be back to normal. As Mokuba arrives to tell him that Domino Town has been liberated from the Ghouls, the Paradox brothers kidnap Mokuba and challenge Seto to follow them to Pegasus Castle. Determined to crush Pegasus and rescue his brother, Seto ignores Ishizus advice and heads for the castle. ******************************************************************************* G. Chapter 7: The Secret of the Winged Dragon of Ra ******************************************************************************* Since the Winged Dragon of Ras Sphere Mode is useless in a duel, speak with Simon in China to discover that Ras Battle Mode can be activated by people who can read the ancient Egyptian scriptures. Talk to Ishizu to learn that Seto Kaiba and her brother Marik are the only duellists who can awaken Ras Battle Mode. Since Seto is on a mission to rescue his brother, Marik is the only person you can talk to. After talking to Ishizu, youll notice that Egypt can now be selected as a destination on the world map. Once you travel there, youll meet Odion, who is glad to see you. However, Odion refuses to allow you to pass. You can either decide to come back later, or challenge Odion to a duel. I advise choosing the first option since you have to duel Marik afterwards. Once thats done, Marik tells Odion to let you pass. After praying to his parents and the people that he harmed, Marik is intrigued to learn that you have revived The Winged Dragon of Ra. Joey insists that Marik awaken Ras Battle Mode, but Marik reminds you that Ra is the most powerful of the three Egyptian God Cards as seen in the flashback. Marik agrees to help you - provided you can defeat him in a duel. Marik is the toughest opponent that youve had to face so far. His deck contains powerful cards including two Revival Jams, two Humanoid Slimes, three Swords of Revealing Light, two Harpie's Feather Dusters, two Monster Reborn and two Widespread Ruin. If you suspect that Widespread Ruin is on the field, attack with a weak monster to activate it. Mariks Swords of Revealing Light cards can prevent you from attacking for three turns, and you cant destroy them by using Harpie's Feather Duster. Beware of Monster Reborn, especially if you sent a powerful monster to the Graveyard like Dark Flare Knight. Youll have to depend on Slifer the Sky Dragon, or Dark Flare Knight and your Trap Cards to win this duel. After the duel, Marik will awaken The Winged Dragon of Ras Battle Mode. If you have The Winged Dragon of Ra in your deck, you will be prompted to place a card in it. Once you place Ras Battle Mode in your deck, Marik will inform you that the Winged Dragon of Ra has three forms - the Sphere Mode, the Battle Mode and the Phoenix Mode. Unfortunately, Marik cant awaken Ras Phoenix Mode at the moment, as Yami Marik is the only one who can unlock it. When you have completed Chapter 8, input 51404976 into the Password Machine at Grandpas Game Shop. Although you dont receive a card, you hear the familiar jingle. The battles at Duellist Kingdom are going to be difficult, especially when the duellists there have a ridiculous number of Life Points. The Winged Dragon of Ras Phoenix Mode guarantees victory in these battles, if you can get it in your hand. Once youve entered the password, travel to Egypt to inform Marik that you have learnt the secret of Ras Phoenix Mode. Marik successfully unlocks Ras Phoenix Mode and hands the card back to you. The Winged Dragon of Ras Phoenix Mode has two unique special abilities. The first ability can destroy all your opponent's monsters, even if they're Egyptian God Cards, for 1,000 Life Points, while the second ability can summon Ras Battle Mode when it is sent to the Graveyard. The best way to use Ras Phoenix Mode is to discard it once you draw it. Ras Battle Mode will automatically appear on the field, meaning you dont need Ras Battle Mode card in your deck and you dont have to summon Ras Phoenix Mode to the field at all. Your battle strategy should now revolve around getting Ras Phoenix Mode and Dark Flare Knight into your hand as soon as possible. ******************************************************************************* H. Chapter 8: Locate Pegasus Castle ******************************************************************************* Head back to China, and Simon will ask you to play a game. Once he runs off, follow him to find a Millennium Item Keeper guarding the entrance to the next room. You must duel five of them in a row to collect a Kuriboh, a Time Wizard, a Giant Soldier of Stone, a Celtic Guardian and a Curse of Dragon. The Keepers start with 3,000 Life Points, so try using Restructer Revolution to decrease their Life Points. Use your Trap Cards to take out their monsters and attack with your monsters to win the duels. Once you obtain the five cards, tell Simon which one you got first and which one you got last. After that, hell challenge you to a duel. His deck contains a lot of powerful four star monsters, so youll have to depend on your Trap Cards, Slifer the Sky Dragon and Dark Flare Knight to defeat him. If youre finding it difficult to keep three monsters on the field to summon Slifer, I suggest placing a Kuriboh and Multiply card in your deck. When you use the Kuriboh/Multiply combo, your side of the field will be covered with Kuriboh. Even if your opponent destroys some of them, youre probably still have enough Kuriboh to sacrifice to summon Slifer. This strategy has helped me win important duels in this game. Once you defeat Simon, he will remove the force-field surrounding Pegasus Castle. When youve unlocked the Winged Dragon of Ras Phoenix Mode, head for Pegasus Island to continue the story. If you think your deck needs some powerful monsters and you dont want to spend any Domino, I suggest duelling the Duel Computer at Kaiba Corp to receive divine monster cards. They can be sold for about 2,000 Domino, so keep duelling the Computer until you have enough money to buy the cards you need to beat the game. I advise saving your game after each duel with the Duel Computer since you need to be lucky to beat it with your Dark Flare Knight and Winged Dragon of Ra. When youve made your preparations, head for Pegasus Island. ******************************************************************************* I. Chapter 9: Back to Duellist Kingdom ******************************************************************************* When you arrive at Duellist Kingdom, Ishizu will inform you that Pegasus island has undergone a transformation and that it has been taken over by Reshef the Dark Beings disciples. Seto Kaiba is nowhere to be found, so Ishizu asks you to take the cable car to find him. When you enter the cable car, Joey will start questioning why Pegasus has been doing these acts of aggression. However, he is interrupted by Pegasus disciples, who decide to duel you. Although each disciple has 10,000 Life Points, they wont be able to touch yours if you can summon Slifer the Sky Dragon or The Winged Dragon of Ra onto the playing field. Once the cable car arrives at its destination, Panik and Mimic of Doom appear to duel you. Choose to duel Panik, as I think he is easier than Mimic to beat. Panik/Mimic has 15,000 Life Points, but thats nothing once you summon one of your two Egyptian God Cards. After the duel, the two villains will challenge you again, but Joey will push them away while you and Yugi escape. Now save your game before travelling to the Dungeon. As you arrive in the Dungeon, youll see Pegasus ordering his disciples to stop you from moving any further. It seems Reshef the Dark Being has been committing these acts of aggression under the guise of Sol Chevalsky and has taken control of Pegasus body. Walk past Pegasus disciples and follow the path until you come across a bridge. A disciple is guarding it, so defeat it in a duel to continue onward. When you enter the dark room, the Paradox brothers will appear and inform you that the pieces of the Millennium Puzzle are at the top of the building. Choose either Dox or Para to duel, although I found that Dox was easier to defeat than Para. Dox/Para has 15,000 Life Points, but their monsters will still fall to your Egyptian God Cards. Once you and Yugi defeat the duo, they will challenge you again. Yugi decides to take them on his own, so you automatically leave the Dungeon. Since Joey and Yugi are no longer following you now, you wont be able to duel them at the Game Shop anymore, but you can still challenge the Duel Computer to win powerful cards. You can also challenge Duke and Tristan at the Game Shop to receive some rare cards such as Monster Reborn from them. After saving your game, travel to Pegasus Castle. Simon appears in front of you and informs you that you need five spirit cards from your fellow duellists in order for you to get past the impostors disguised as them. Bonz can be found in Italy, Rex in Canada, Weevil and Mako in the Galappagos Islands, Espa at Clock Tower Square and Mai at Domino Pier. Once you defeat them, they will hand over the cards that best resemble themselves - Pumpkin the King of Ghosts, Two-Headed King Rex, Insect Queen, The Legendary Fisherman, Jinzo and Harpie Lady - to help you save the world from Reshef the Dark Being. I suggest placing Jinzo in your deck since it can destroy any Trap Card on the field when it is summoned. When you explore Pegasus Castle, you will be challenged to a duel by the impostors disguised as Bonz, Rex, Weevil, Mako, Espa and Mai. Since you have their spirit cards, the impostors will disappear after you defeat them. Once you defeat Mai, ignore the northern entrance and head west four times to discover a hidden room. Inside this room, youll see a picture of Shadi. Look at the picture to start a conversation with Shadi himself. Shadi tells you to save Pegasus or Sol Chevalsky, as he now calls himself. Shadi will ask you whether you want to listen to the tale of how Reshef the Dark Being took control of Pegasus body. I suggest saying yes if you want to find out how Pegasus mysteriously disappeared after Yami Bakura defeated him in a Shadow Game and stole his Millennium Eye. If you dont want to know this information, I advise that you ignore the next paragraph, as it contains spoilers. Time passed since the Duellist Kingdom Tournament, and Pegasus awoke from his long dream. He wandered the globe, drawn by an unseen power. He visited many ancient ruins until his journey led him to Egypt. By chance, he found a stone tablet. Sealed within it was Reshef the Dark Being, and thus began Pegasus tragedy. He slowly deciphered the stone tablet and realised the calamity it could unleash. It could bring eternal darkness to the world, so Pegasus was determined to prevent Reshefs escape. As he further studied the stone tablet, he was unaware that he was falling under Reshefs spell. The Egyptian God Cards are needed to seal the stone tablet, but they can also be used to resurrect Reshef. Pegasus sought the Egyptian God Cards to seal Reshef forever but, under Reshefs spell, he did the exact opposite. He used the Egyptian God Cards in a resurrection ritual which freed Reshef and turned the Egyptian God Cards to stone. The Millennium Items were also scattered across the globe. Pegasus is now fully under Reshefs control. After talking to Shadi, leave the room and take the northern route to see Seto Kaiba order his Blue-Eyes White Dragon to defeat a disciple. After the duel, Seto smugly tells you that he has assembled the perfect deck to defeat Pegasus. Ishizu arrives on the scene, and warns Seto that he cannot defeat Pegasus and Reshef the Dark Being on his own. Mokuba, possessed by Reshef, appears and asks Seto to prove his statement by duelling him. Seto refuses to duel against Mokuba. Ishizu asks you to duel Mokuba in Setos place, so agree to duel him. Although Mokuba requests that you ante one of your two Egyptian God Cards, you wont lose them if Mokuba defeats you. You will lose your ante card though. Although Mokuba appears to be an average duellist, he actually has some rare cards in his deck, most notably three Swords of Revealing Light, Darkfire Soldier #1, Dark Zebra and Witty Phantom. He has 10,000 Life Points, so purchase three Revival Jams to give you a better chance of summoning your Egyptian God Cards. After the duel, Mokuba asks Seto to help him as he is freed from Reshefs control. Although Seto reluctantly thanks you for saving his brother, he says he will only give you his Egyptian God Card if you can defeat him in a duel. Like the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series, Setos deck contains powerful cards including his Blue-Eyes White Dragons, three Swords of Revealing Light, and one Vorse Raider. Beware of his X-Head Cannon, Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank cards. If you leave one of them on the field, Seto will have a chance to fuse the three cards together. When Seto plays one of his three Blue-Eyes White Dragons, youll hear him commanding it to attack. In my opinion, this is impressive, considering that the Game Boy Advance is a portable game system. If youre having problems defeating Seto, I advise raising your Duellist Level until you can use cards such as Swords of Revealing Light and Monster Reborn in your deck. After the duel, Seto will hand over his Egyptian God Card to you. For the first time in a Yu-Gi-Oh game, you finally have all three Egyptian God Cards. I advise saving your game and increasing your Deck Capacity, as you are about to face Pegasus, who uses Level 999 monsters. ******************************************************************************* J. Chapter 10: The Showdown ******************************************************************************* Sol Chevalsky welcomes you to his castle and congratulates you on defeating all the duellists. Ishizu demands that Pegasus stops this madness at once, but Sol declares that his past means nothing to him and that he is no longer called Pegasus. Ishizu tries to convince Sol/Pegasus to return Reshef the Dark Being to its prison, but Sol/Pegasus believes that Reshef will create a wonderful world. To complete the resurrection of Reshef the Dark Being, Sol/Pegasus requires the soul of a defeated duellist. Ishizu realises that Sol/Pegasus has the pieces of the Millennium Puzzle and plans to sacrifice you to resurrect Reshef, so you must duel Sol/Pegasus to free him from Reshefs control. Sol/Pegasus has an extremely powerful deck. One could say that his deck is illegal, considering that his Duellist Level is 999 and even his weak monsters can take out your Dark Magician and Flame Swordsman due to their attributes. With three Swords of Revealing Light, three Harpies Feather Duster, three Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon, three Thousand-Eyes Restrict, three Change of Hearts, three Rogue Doll, three Toon Dark Magician Girl, three Relinquished and three Torrential Tribute, Sol/Pegasus is impossible to defeat without your Egyptian God Cards. If that wasnt bad enough, he also has 20,000 Life Points! Slifer the Sky Dragon is the most useful God Card for this duel since it can decrease Pegasus Life Points easily. Your only problem is getting it onto the field. Use the special abilities of Doron, Revival Jam and Ancient Lamp to gather enough monsters to sacrifice to summon Silfer. If youre planning to use the Kuriboh/Multiply combo, wait until you have both Kuriboh and Multiply in your hand. Sol/Pegasus can easily use Harpies Feather Duster to destroy your Multiply card. The special ability of The Winged Dragon of Ras Battle Mode is not a good way to win this duel. Although Pegasus Life Points will decrease, your Life Points will be reduced to 1, meaning you will only have 1 Life Point when you face Reshef after you defeat Sol/Pegasus. Pegasus Red Archery Girls can decrease Silfers ATK Points and prevent you from attacking with it for one turn. Watch out for Dragon Capture Jar, as it can stop Slifer from attacking. Use Harpies Feather Duster to destroy it. Once you defeat Sol/Pegasus, the three Egyptian God Cards send him crashing into the stone tablet. The tablet starts to glow, as Pegasus remembers his true identity. Pegasus informs Ishizu that Reshef has absorbed the power of all the defeated duellists, as Reshef himself appears in the background. Yugi, Joey and Seto arrive on the scene to help you, but its too late - Reshef has been released from its prison. Pegasus hands over the pieces of the Millennium Puzzle to Yugi, and Yugi transforms into Yami Yugi. Yami, Joey and Seto summon the Dark Magician, the Red-Eyes Black Dragon and the Blue-Eyes White Dragon to attack Reshef, while you must seal Reshef forever. Reshef has the most powerful deck in any Yu-Gi-Oh! game. With 40,000 Life Points, Reshef is the hardest duellist in the game. His deck contains mainly the same cards as Pegasus, so your own hope is to somehow summon your Egyptian God Cards. Your Winged Dragon of Ra is the only card that can win you this duel. Use your Monster Cards and Trap Cards to stall for time until you draw Ra. Unfortunately, Reshef has somehow obtained three copies of the Egyptian God Cards, so you must prevent him from sacrificing three monsters to summon them. Reshef will usually play three Swords of Revealing Light to give himself enough turns to sacrifice three monsters. The Winged Dragon of Ra is the one God Card you should watch out for. By using its special ability, it can decrease your Life Points to zero in a flash. Try to summon Slifer the Sky Dragon to be able to half Reshefs Life Points before Reshef has a chance to play Swords of Revealing Light. If Reshef manages to summon Obelisk the Tormentor and Castle of Dark Illusions at the same time, he'll activate Obelisk's special ability first and then he'll wait until his next turn to activate it again when his Castle of Dark Illusions switches all of his cards to face-down position. This combo can easily turn the tide in his favour since you lose 4,000 Life Points each time Obelisk's special ability is activated. Use some Goblin Fans and Reflect Bounders to strike back. Messenger of Peace can protect your monsters and can also prevent Reshef from sacrificing his monsters to summon his Egyptian God Cards. Use Dian Keto the Cure Master to restore your Life Points as you must pay 1,000 Life Points to keep Messenger of Peace on the field. Since your deck contains monsters, such as Doron and Toad Master, they won't be affected by Messenger of Peace and you'll be able to sacrifice them to summon your Egyptian God Cards on your next turn. When you manage to summon your God Card, I advise discarding Messenger of Peace from the field immediately to protect yourself from losing any more Life Points. When you finally defeat Reshef, Pegasus will realise that his heart is still full of darkness. He asks you to trap Reshef and himself in the stone tablet to prevent Reshef from escaping, so the main character carries out Pegasus request. Suddenly, Pegasus castle starts to collapse and everyone runs out of the place. Mokuba appears in his helicopter and takes the heroes back to Domino Town. Congratulations! You have completed Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef of Destruction! Now enjoy the ending. ******************************************************************************* K. Chapter 11: The Hall of Eternity ******************************************************************************* When you complete the game, watch the credits roll and youll eventually see THE END on the screen. Turn off your Game Boy Advance and continue your game. Go to the world map to discover a new destination called the Hall of Eternity. It is situated in the south-eastern corner of the map. There are nine duellists waiting to challenge you there if you want to. If you can defeat them, your Duellist Level and Deck Capacity will rise. The nine duellists at the Hall of Eternity are as follows: 1. Maximillion Pegasus 2. Seto Kaiba 3. Joey Wheeler 4. Yami Bakura 5. Yami Yugi 6. Yami Marik 7. Noah Kaiba 8. Simon 9. Shadi Pegasus, Joey, Shadi, and Simon start with 30,000 Life Points. After you defeat one of them, your Deck Capacity will increase by 10 and youll receive 2,500 Domino. Seto Kaiba, Yami Yugi, Yami Marik, Noah Kaiba, and Yami Bakura start with 60,000 Life Points! If you can defeat one of them, your Deck Capacity will increase by 20 and youll receive 5,000 Domino. Although the nine duellists each use different decks, they all have three Swords of Revealing Light, three Monster Reborn, three Pot of Greed, three Megamorph, three Harpie's Feather Duster, three Change of Heart and three Torrential Tributes. They will usually play their three Swords of Revealing Light after every three turns, they will play Monster Reborn to sacrifice one of your monsters to summon a powerful monster, Pot of Greed is used to draw their most powerful cards, Megamorph powers up their monsters, Harpie's Feather Duster is usually played at the start, Change of Heart is played to sacrifice or take control of your most powerful monster, and Torrential Tribute destroys all your monsters. Fortunately for you, the majority of duellists dont have any Egyptian God Cards in their possession. The only exceptions are Seto Kaiba, Yami Yugi and Yami Marik. This means if you can summon The Winged Dragon of Ra, the chances of you winning the duel will increase. Since it is immune to Trap and Magic Cards, few duellists will be able to take it down. Jinzo is the perfect monster for destroying Trap Cards, most notably Torrential Tribute. Using the special abilities of monsters such as Newdoria and Dark Jeroid can help you as well, considering that they power up on the Yami Field. The Obelisk the Tormentor/Castle of Dark Illusions combo is another good way to defeat the Hall of Eternity duellists. When the two monsters are played together, Obelisk's special ability will activate after every turn since the Castle switches all cards to face-down position. When the duellists play Swords of Revealing Light, use Obelisk's ability to continue decreasing their Life Points. The creator of Duel Monsters and President of Industrial Illusions, Maximillion Pegasus, is your first opponent in the Hall of Eternity. Pegasus duelling strategy depends on you sending out your most powerful monsters to attack his Life Points. With three Change of Heart, three Relinquished and three Thousand-Eyes Restrict in his deck, Pegasus can easily take control of your monsters in a flash. If youre sure that Pegasus has these cards on the field, play a weak monster in defence mode and place a Torrential Tribute on the field. As a result, Pegasus monsters will be destroyed and hell be wide open for a direct attack, if he has no Trap Cards on the field. Watch out if Pegasus steals one of your monsters and uses its special ability after his Castle of Dark Illusions switches all his cards to face-down position. The former Duel Monsters Champion and President of the Kaiba Corporation, Seto Kaiba, is your second opponent in the Hall of Eternity. His deck is based on the one he uses during the Battle City saga of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series. His X-Head Cannon, Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank can form a powerful monster if youre not careful. When he plays Swords of Revealing Light, hell usually sacrifice three monsters to summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Master of Dragon Knight, or Obelisk the Tormentor. With 4500 ATK Points, Setos Ultimate Dragon can destroy your Winged Dragon of Ra in one attack. Try to use your Magic Cards to take out his monsters to prevent him from sacrificing them until Swords of Revealing Light is no longer in effect. Obelisk the Tormentor's special ability can wipe out all your monsters including your Egyptian God Cards and decrease your Life Points by 4,000 so try to get Slifer the Sky Dragon onto the field first to counter it. A semi-finalist at the Duellist Kingdom and Battle City Tournament, Joey Wheeler, is your third opponent in the Hall of Eternity. Like Setos deck, his deck is based on the one he uses in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series. One of his most powerful cards is Jinzo which can destroy all Trap Cards on the field when it is summoned. Hell try using Change of Heart or Monster Reborn to take one of your monsters to use as a sacrifice to summon it. When he plays Swords of Revealing Light, Joey will sacrifice two monsters to summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon, Black Skull Dragon, or Gilford the Lightning. Red-Eyes Black Dragon has the same ATK as Jinzo, but Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon has 2800 ATK. I advise having some Magic and Trap Cards ready to destroy it when Joey summons it. Alternatively, place a Dragon Capture Jar on the field to stop the Dragons from attacking. While they are unable to attack, Joey won't be able to sacrifice them until he can destroy your Dragon Capture Jar. This can prevent him from summoning his stronger monsters to the field. Black Skull Dragon and Gilford the Lightning are the strongest monsters in Joey's deck. Gilford the Lightning's special ability can destroy all your monsters (excluding your Egyptian God Cards), while Black Skull Dragon is immune to Acid Trap Hole due to its 3200 ATK Points. The evil spirit of the Millennium Ring and collector of the seven Millennium Items, Yami Bakura, is your fourth opponent in the Hall of Eternity. Bakuras duelling strategy revolves around summoning powerful monsters to the field and playing Destiny Board to automatically win the duel in five turns. His three Dark Elf have 2600 ATK Points, so place some Trap Cards on the field once Bakura has used up his three Harpie's Feather Dusters. Watch out for Dark Necrofear, as Bakura can power it up with Megamorph. This can make his monsters DEF Points greater than your monsters ATK Points. Dark Necrofear's special ability can steal one of your monsters (excluding your Egyptian God Cards). If Bakura manages to play Destiny Board, I suggest destroying it with Harpie's Feather Duster a few turns later to prevent him from placing his Trap Cards on the field. The Destiny Board is an excellent card to recieve from Bakura since it can end any difficult duel in five turns. Unfortunately, it costs 500 of your Deck Capacity and your Duellist Level, so you probably won't be able to use it for a LONG time. I advise using it against your opponent once he/she uses up all of her/his Harpie's Feather Dusters. The spirit of the Millennium Puzzle and the King of Games, Yami Yugi, is your fifth opponent in the Hall of Eternity. Slifer the Sky Dragon is the most powerful card in Yugis deck. If he gets a chance, hell summon it to the field once he draws it. Use a Dragon Capture Jar to stop Slifer in its tracks, until you can use the Winged Dragon of Ra's Phoenix Mode to destroy it. The trio of monsters to watch out for are Jacks Knight, Queens Knight and Kings Knight. Thanks to Queen and Kings special ability, they can summon Jacks Knight to the field. Yugi also has a Dark Flare Knight and a Mirage Knight in his deck. If he manages to summon Flare Knight, youll have to attack it to destroy it. Unfortunately, its special ability can summon Mirage Knight which in turn can summon Dark Magician and Flame Swordsman. Try to destroy Mirage Knight as quickly as possible, unless you have an Egyptian God Card on the field. The dark side of Marik Ishtar, Yami Marik, is your sixth opponent in the Hall of Eternity. Although he has the Winged Dragon of Ras Phoenix Mode in his deck, Marik always sacrifices three monsters to summon it and never discards it from his hand. If Marik does manage to summon Ra, hell pay 1,000 Life Points to destroy all of your monsters including your Egyptian God Cards. Try to prevent him from sacrificing three monsters to summon Ra, or use Amazon Archers to weaken it. If you have two monsters on the field, they might be sacrificed to summon Mariks Lava Golem on your side of the field. Although you now control this monster, Marik can easily get it back by using Change of Heart. I advise discarding it or sacrificing it since you lose 700 Life Points after every turn. Marik's effect monsters - Newdoria, Dark Jeriod, Viser Des and Helpoemer - can turn the tide in his favour since they are powered up by the Yami Field. Newdoria can destroy the strongest monster on the field when it is sent to the Graveyard, Dark Jeriod and Viser Des both decrease the ATK of your strongest monster, and Helpoemer forces you to discard one card from your hand after every turn when it is sent to the Graveyard. The only son of Gozaboro Kaiba and one of the villains of the Virtual World saga of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime, Noah Kaiba, is your seventh opponent in the Hall of Eternity. His most powerful monsters are Perfect Machine King and Five God Dragon. Perfect Machine King powers up when the Winged Dragon of Ra is on the field, so I advise having some Trap and Magic Cards ready to destroy it. If you have Monster Reborn in your hand, you could resurrect Perfect Machine King from Noah's Graveyard. However, make sure it doesn't get destroyed since Noah might use his own Monster Reborn to bring it back from your Graveyard. Five God Dragon has 5,000 ATK Points and its special ability can destroy all your normal Monster, Magic and Trap Cards. Use Beckon to Darkness to destroy it. His other monsters arent as powerful since the Yami Field decreases their ATK and DEF Points. Like the other Hall of Eternity duellists, Noah will use his Trap and Magic Cards to turn the tables. Make sure he doesnt have three monsters on the field at any time - hell probably sacrifice them to summon his Five God Dragon. Watch for Shinato, King of a Higher Plane since it only requires two monsters to sacrifice to summon it and with 3200 ATK Points it is even more powerful than a Blue-Eyes White Dragon. The mysterious duellist, Simon, is your eighth opponent in the Hall of Eternity. His deck contains powerful monsters including Zera the Mant, Black Luster Soldier and Gemini Elf. Since Zera the Mant and Luster Soldier are divine monsters, you can only destroy them with magic cards and stronger monsters. Summon your Egyptian God Cards to give yourself an advantage. Attack all his monsters during every turn to stop him from sacrificing them. The holder of the Millennium Key and the Millennium Scale, Shadi, is your final opponent in the Hall of Eternity. Like Simon, Shadi uses divine monsters that power up on the Yami Field. Dont use Raigeki on his monsters - hell activate his Anti-Raigeki to destroy your monsters instead! The only way to defeat him easily is to summon your Egyptian God Cards. Your Winged Dragon of Ra is perfect for winning this duel, but dont use its special ability in case Shadi uses his three Megamorph to power up his monsters to take down Ra and your Life Points. Congratulations! You have defeated the nine Hall of Eternity duellists! Now increase your Duellist Level and Deck Capacity to fill your deck with powerful cards. Challenge the duellists again to get their favourite monsters. You can also challenge Pegasus and Reshef the Dark Being again if you want their cards. Buy the powerful cards such as Swords of Revealing Light and Change of Heart to strengthen your deck. ############################################################################### 12) Summarised Decklist of the Duellists ############################################################################### This section contains the decklists of most of the duellists. Yugi Muto, Joey Wheeler, Para/Dox, Panik, Mimic of Doom, Puppetter of Doom, the Paradox brothers, Rare Hunter, the Neo Ghouls, Bandit Keith, Simon and Seto Kaiba are excluded from this decklist because you cannot challenge them after you defeat them once or twice. Although Joey Wheeler, Seto Kaiba, and Simon can be found at the Hall of Eternity, they use different decks there. Thus this decklist covers the decks of the duellists that you can still challenge after completing this game. The Hall of Eternity duellists are excluded from this decklist. Duel Computer (Novice Level) =============================================================================== When you first start this game, the Duel Computer (Novice Level) is probably one of the only duellists you can beat easily. All of its cards have ATK Points less than 500, so defeating it should be a simple task. The only thing to watch out for is monsters that can wipe you out due to their attributes. Fill your deck full of cards with 500 ATK Points and purchase 3 Infinite Dismissal and 3 Eatgaboon Trap Cards to give yourself an advantage. The Duel Computer doesn't use any Magic or Trap Cards, so winning should be simple. =============================================================================== B. Tristan Taylor =============================================================================== Tristan's deck contains mostly the same monsters as the Duel Computer (Novice Level). His cards have ATK Points less than 500, but he does give you some rare ante cards as prizes sometimes. I think you can get Monster Reborn and Spellbinding Circle from him. Tristan's deck contains no Magic or Trap Cards, so this is basically a repeat of the battle with the Duel Computer. With that deck, it's no wonder that Tristan lost to Nesbitt of the Big Five in the Virtual World. =============================================================================== C. Duke Devlin =============================================================================== Tristan's rival, Duke Devlin, has a strong deck (if you just started the game). He also has Magic and Trap Cards in his deck, so you know the duels aren't going to be so easy to beat now. Hourglass of Life and The Statue of Easter Island are the two monsters you should watch out for. By giving up 1,000 Life Points, Duke can increase the ATK of his Hourglass of Life. Use your Magic or Trap Cards to destroy it. The Statue of Easter Island has a high DEF, so use Stop Defence to switch it to attack mode. You'll then have a chance to attack it. Soul of the Pure can give Duke 2,000 Life Points, Spellbinding Circle decreases your monsters' ATK and DEF Points by two levels, Beckon to Darkness can destroy any monster, Raigeki can destroy all monsters on the field, and the special ability of Fiend's Hand can send any monster to the Graveyard. Duke will also use Machine Conversation Factory and Cyclon Laser to power up his monsters, so make sure you have at least two Trap Cards on the field at all times. Hourglass of Life, Soul of the Pure, Fiend's Hand and Beckon to Darkness are the cards I advise you to use after you recieve them from Duke Devlin as ante card prizes. =============================================================================== D. Odion =============================================================================== Odion is a difficult duellist to defeat when you first get a chance to duel him, so I advise challenging him before you head for Pegasus' Island. Like the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series, Odion depends on his Trap Cards to win duels. Failing that, he can summon powerful monsters such as Mystical Beast Serket by using Swords of Revealing Light to stall for time. Raigeki, Swords of Revealing Light, Final Destiny, Heavy Storm, Dark Hole, Monster Reborn, and Harpie's Feather Duster are the cards that Odion tends to use to turn the tide in his favour. Final Destiny destroys every Monster, Trap and Magic Card in each player's hand, Heavy Storm destroys all Magic and Trap Cards, Dark Hole wipes out every monster on the field, Monster Reborn resurrects a monster from your Graveyard, and Harpie's Feather Duster destroys all Magic and Trap Cards. With rare and powerful Trap and Magic Cards in his deck, Odion can be a hard duellist to defeat if you don't use your Egyptian God Cards. Only attack his monsters if you can summon your God Cards to the field. Use your Magic and Trap Cards to take them out as well. The special ability of Fiend's Hand can destroy any of Odion's monsters. =============================================================================== E. Marik Ishtar =============================================================================== Marik Ishtar's deck isn't as powerful as his evil counterpart's, but it can still catch you by surprise. With three Swords of Revealing Light in his deck, Marik can easily summon strong monsters to the field. His Revival Jam's special ability can help him gather enough monsters to sacrifice. Humanoid Slime has a strong DEF, so use Stop Defence to switch it to attack mode. Newdoria's special ability can destroy your strongest monster when it is send to the Graveyard, while Viser Des's special ability decreases your monster's DEF and ATK Points after every turn. Marik has some useful Magic Cards in his deck, most notably Swords of Revealing Light, Monster Reborn, Harpie's Feather Duster, Soul of the Pure and Spellbinding Circle. Marik has three Monster Reborn cards in his deck, so I advise discarding weak monsters to your Graveyard to prevent him from resurrecting your stronger ones. When you first duel Marik, you probably won't have Swords of Revealing Light, Harpie's Feather Duster, Monster Reborn and Spellbinding Circle in your deck. Summoning stronger monsters such as Summoned Skull is too risky at this point in the game since Marik can activate his face-down Trap or Magic Cards to destroy or weaken it. Spend your money on Acid Trap Holes, Infinite Dismissals, Widespread Ruins, Invisible Wire Trap, Dark Flare Knight, Dark Magician Girl, Dorons, Fiend's Hands, Toad Masters, Kuribohs and Multiply. Use your Trap Cards and Dark Flare Knight to stall for time until you can summon Slifer the Sky Dragon by using the Kuriboh/Multiply combo. =============================================================================== F. Bonz =============================================================================== Bonz might seem to be an average duellist, but his deck improves as you progress through the game. He has Swords of Revealing Light, Monster Reborn, Ancient Lamp, Acid Trap Hole, Violet Crystal and Fiend's Hand in his deck. Bonz is lucky sometimes, as he play Monster Reborn and Swords of Revealing Light at the same time. Ancient Lamp may only have 1200 ATK Points, but its special ability allows Bonz to summon La Jinn, the Mystical Genie of the Lamp to the field. Acid Trap Hole destroys any monster with 3,000 ATK Points or less, so I advise using your Egyptian God Cards for this duel. If you leave one of his monsters on the field for one turn, he'll probably summon Great Mammoth of Goldfine. Violet Crystal can power it up, so place a Trap Card on the field to counter it. I advise getting Acid Trap Hole, Fiend's Hand and Ancient Lamp from Bonz as ante card prizes since they are good cards to have in your deck. =============================================================================== G. Weevil Underwood =============================================================================== Like Bonz, Weevil also has Swords of Revealing Light and Monster Reborn in his deck. After you complete the game, Weevil's most powerful monsters will be Great Moth and Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth. He has two sneaky ways of summoning these monsters to the field. Most of the time, he'll protect his Larvae Moth for four turns until it evolves into Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth. He can also use the special ability of Pinch Hopper to summon it directly to the field. Weevil's monsters are also powered up by the Forest Field, meaning that Slifer the Sky Dragon is the only Egyptian God Card you can depend on to win the duel. The Winged Dragon of Ra and Obelisk the Tormentor will be taken down by Weevil's Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth, unless you have some Trap Cards on the field to destroy it. Weevil's Infinite Dismissal cards can block Slifer the Sky Dragon's attack for one turn, so make sure Slifer's ATK Points are 6,000 or more in case Weevil summons his Ultimate Moth. =============================================================================== H. Mako Tsunami =============================================================================== Mako specialises in using a water themed deck, so using Electric monsters would be a good idea to take down most of his monsters. Surprisingly, Mako has Pyro monsters in his deck such as Fire Kraken, but you should be able to stall for time using your Trap and Magic Cards. Fortress Whale is the most powerful monster in Mako's deck since it is powered up by the Umi Field. Giant Red Seasnake can also be hard to destroy, but it's still a normal monster so use Beckon to Darkness to destroy it. Swords of Revealing Light can protect Mako's monsters for three turns, so I advise summoning Slifer the Sky Dragon or Obelisk the Tormentor to give yourself an advantage. Thanks to the Umi Field, the Winged Dragon of Ra's ATK Points are decreased to 2,800, so I advise not using it in this duel. =============================================================================== I. Espa Roba =============================================================================== Espa can be a tough duellist when you first challenge him, especially since he has Jinzo in his deck. With the ability to destroy all Trap Cards, this monster could turn the tables on you if you don't have a plan to destroy it. When you defeat Espa two times, he'll hand over Jinzo to you, so you won't have to face it again. Swords of Revealing Light, Reflect Bounder, Mechanicalchaser, Machine Conversation Factory, Cyclon Laser, and Guardian of the Throne Room are the cards to watch out for in Espa's deck. Reflect Bounder's special ability can reduce your Life Points, Conversation Factory and Cyclon Laser power up Espa's monsters, Mechanicalchaser has 1800 ATK Points, and Guardian of the Throne Room has 1600 ATK Points. These monsters are powered up by the field. Espa can also use Brain Control to steal one of your monsters for one turn. He'll probably sacrifice it to summon The Fiend Megacyber, or he'll probably attack with it. I advise getting Reflect Bounder and Brain Control as ante card prizes from Espa, as they are good cards and they can be sold at the Game Shop. =============================================================================== J. Mai Valentine =============================================================================== Mai's deck is full of strong monsters, along with Magic and Trap Cards. Powered by the Field, her monsters are impossible to destroy by using brute force. Mai powers up her Harpie Lady cards by using Cyber Shield and Electro-Whip. Harpie's Feather Duster, Amazon Archers, Harpie's Brother, Harpie Lady Sisters, Cyber Harpie and Skull Red Bird are the cards to watch out for in Mai's deck. Swords of Revealing Light can prevent you from attacking, while Mai sacrifices two monsters to summon her Harpie's Pet Dragon which is powered up by every Harpie Lady on the field. Mai tends to use Amazon Archers to weaken your Obelisk the Tormentor and Winged Dragon of Ra so that her powered up Harpie's Pet Dragon can easily destroy them. Elegant Egotist transforms one Harpie Lady into Harpie Lady Sisters, while the Spirit of the Books' special ability can summon Boo Koo to the field. The best way to defeat Mai is to use the special abilities of Dorons and Toad Masters to gather enough monsters to summon Slifer the Sky Dragon. Once you succeed in summoning Slifer, this duel will be over since Slifer is powered up by the Field. I advise getting Harpie's Feather Duster and Amazon Archers from Mai as ante card prizes since they don't use up too much Deck Capacity. =============================================================================== K. Rex Raptor =============================================================================== Like Mai, Rex uses strong monsters and likes to power them up by using his Magic Cards. If that strategy fails, Rex will use Swords of Revealing Light to stall for time until he can summon powerful monsters such as Serpent Night Dragon. With two Harpie's Feather Dusters in his deck, Rex can take out your Trap and Magic Cards on the field and prevent you from protecting your monsters from his attacks. Raise Body Heat and Megamorph power up his monsters, so watch out if he manages to use two of them on one monster. If you manage to get Rex to use up all his Magic and Trap Cards, you'll have the advantage. Summon your Egyptian God Cards once you draw them to end this duel. If you summon the Winged Dragon of Ra, I suggest using the Dian Keto the Cure Master card to increase your Life Points by 5,000 so that you can use Ra's special ability to decrease Rex's Life Points to zero. =============================================================================== L. Duel Computer (Standard Level) =============================================================================== Quite a change from the previous Duel Computer. By now, you should be able to defeat this Duel Computer. The Computer uses a beatdown deck like Mai and Rex. Its monsters all have high ATK, and it even has some rare divine monsters, such as Sengenjin and Cosmo Queen, in its deck. However, the Computer hardly has any Trap and Magic Cards in its deck, so if you can destroy its monsters with your Egyptian God Cards you'll eventually win the duel when its Life Points drop to zero or when it runs out of cards to draw. Watch out for the divine monsters, as only stronger monsters, Magic and Trap Cards can destroy them. I advise getting these monsters as ante card prizes since they can be sold for about 2,000 Domino at the Game Shop. =============================================================================== M. Duel Computer (Expert Level) =============================================================================== Finally, a real challenge from the Duel Computer. It seems Seto Kaiba programmed the Expert Level of the Duel Computer to use his deck, meaning this will be your hardest duel yet. Cards to be aware of include Crush Card, Change of Heart, Brain Control, Final Destiny, Amazon Archers, Widespread Ruin, Shadow Spell, Gemini Elf, Castle of Dark Illusions, Vorse Raider, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Reflect Bounder, Dark Elf, Flash Assailant, Torrential Tribute, Ancient Lamp, and Blue-Eyes White Dragon. With powerful cards in its deck, the Duel Computer is difficult to defeat but you can still win with your Egyptian God Cards. If you planning to use Slifer the Sky Dragon, try to summon it before the Computer plays Final Destiny. Watch out for the Change of Heart/Brain Control combo as well. =============================================================================== N. Maximillion Pegasus/Sol Chevalsky =============================================================================== Sol/Pegasus has an extremely powerful deck. Illusionist Faceless Mage's special ability can prevent all of your monsters from attacking for one turn. Watch out for Dragon Capture Jar, as it can stop Slifer from attacking. Use Harpies Feather Duster to destroy it. =============================================================================== O. Reshef the Dark Being =============================================================================== Reshef has the most powerful deck in any Yu-Gi-Oh! ############################################################################### 14) My Decks ############################################################################### If you are having trouble beating this game, you can use my decks instead. My duelling strategy is to summon my Egyptian God Cards by stalling for time using my monster, trap and magic cards. My deck capacity is 1863 and my duellist level is 159. I would like to know what cards i can use to put together a decent deck to get passed this part. I also have 16153 domino. A: Check my walkthrough. Q: Are there are any codes that can give you more money? A: No, there arent any codes that can give you more money. Q: I am at the part where you have to get rid of the Neo Ghouls by finding more duellists. I can't beat them and my deck is really weak. Please help! A: I suggest putting one Dark Flare Knight, three Fiends Hands, one Dark Magician Girl, three Dorons and three Infinite Dismissals in your deck. Use the special ability of Fiends Hand and Doron to stall for time until you draw Dark Flare Knight. Next discard Flare Knight to the Graveyard to summon Mirage Knight to the field. On your opponents turn, Mirage Knight will separate into Dark Magician and Flame Swordsman. Watch out for any Trap Cards on your field as well. Attack with your weak monsters to activate them. Q: Can I attack with a monster after I use its special ability? A: No, you must wait until your next turn to attack with it. Q: What card should I use as an ante for battling Yugi to get Spellbinding Circle? A: Use any strong monsters as ante cards. However, you have a random chance of obtaining a Spellbinding Circle, so keep duelling Yugi until you eventually get one. Q: There are two Neo Ghouls to beat at the Egyptian Exhibition. How can I defeat them? A: Make sure you have Dark Flare Knight, Dark Magician Girl, three Fiend's Hand, three Infinite Dismissals, three Acid Trap Holes and three Dorons in your deck. The Neo Ghouls duel on a Yami Field, so Dark Magician Girl will be powered up. Use Dark Flare Knight's special ability to summon Mirage Knight to the field. If you don't have enough money to purchase these cards, duel Yugi and Joey at the Game Shop and sell their ante cards. Q: What are the passwords for #645 Dark Flare Knight, #760 Dark Magician Girl and #135 Fiend's Hand? A: Dark Flare Knight's password is 13722870, Dark Magician Girl's password is 38033121, and the password of Fiend's Hand is 52800428. Q: I am currently stuck in liberating the town. I have Mako and Bonz at the Town of Domino but can't save the others. I am desperately trying the cards you mentioned that will help me. I have 1 Doron, 1 Fiend's Hand, and 1 Beckon to Darkness. I can't get the other cards in the shop. How do i get them in the shop so I can buy them? A: If you can't get Dorons, Fiend's Hands and Beckon to Darkness from the Game Shop, you'll need to input their passwords into the Password Machine for the cost of 1,000 Domino. #195 Doron's password is 00756652, the password of #135 Fiend's Hand is 52800428, and #693 Beckon to Darkness' password is 08065530. In addition, #645 Dark Flare Knight's password is 13722870, and #760 Dark Magician Girl's password is 38033121. Q: I can't find Yami Marik in the Hall of Eternity. Where is he? A: If you haven't unlocked the Winged Dragon of Ra's Phoenix Mode, Yami Marik won't be in the Hall of Eternity. Read Chapter 7 of the Walkthrough to find out how to unlock it. Q: After defeating all the Hall of Eternity duellists, do I unlock any secrets in the game? A: No, you won't unlock any secrets after defeating the Hall of Eternity duellists. However, you can find a secret room in Pegasus' Castle prior to or after you defeat Reshef the Dark Being. Q: Can I input passwords for the same card more than once? A: Yes, you can do this as long as you pay 1,000 Domino each time you input the passwords. Q: What cards can use their special ability to come back from the Graveyard? A: Vampire Lord, Different Dimension Dragon and The Winged Dragon of Ra (Phoenix Mode) can do this. Q: What should my Duellist Level and Deck Capacity be when I have completed Chapter 8? A: It depends on the cards in your duelling deck. Put monsters such as Doron, Ancient Lamp and Toad Master in your deck. I also advise having Kuriboh and Multiply in your deck. Have all the Egyptian God Cards in your deck. Use some of the monsters in my deck as an example. Q: How can I get rare cards from the duellists? A: Ante your strongest cards to get their ante cards as prizes. Generally, you should ante cards that have a high deck capacity to receive rare ones. Q: How can I beat Bonz? A: Spend your money on Magic and Trap Cards. Take out monsters such as Summoned Skull and Baby Dragon in your deck, they're taking up too much Deck Capacity. Use Dorons and Toad Masters to help summon Slifer the Sky Dragon. Use your Trap and Magic Cards to stall for time. Q: How can I obtain the three Egyptian God Cards? A: Ishizu gives you Slifer the Sky Dragon, The Winged Dragon of Ra is taken from Bandit Keith, and Seto Kaiba hands over Obelisk the Tormentor to you after you defeat him at Pegasus' Castle. Q: How long does it take to complete the game? A: It depends on your own deck. Generally, it could take up to 10 hours. This is mainly because of the difficult final battles at Duellist Kingdom. Q: What are the passwords for Reflect Bounder and Ancient Lamp? A: Reflect Bounder's password is 02851070, and Ancient Lamp's password is 54912977. Q: What are the passwords for Amazon Archers, Infinite Dismissal and Acid Trap Hole? A: Amazon Archers' password is 67987611, Infinite Dismissal's password is 54109233, and Acid Trap Hole's password is 41356845. Q: How do I summon Exodia Necross? A: In order to summon Exodia Necross you must send one of the Exodia Series cards to the Graveyard and you'll be able to summon it - provided that you don't send another monster to the Graveyard. If you do send another monster to the Graveyard, Exodia Necross will be destroyed instantly. Q: What is the highest Duel Capacity I can get? A: The maximum Duel Capacity you can get is 9999. Q: What monsters can I only summon after sacrificing a monster? A: Generally, 5-6 Star monsters require one sacrifice, 7-8 Star monsters require two sacrifices, and 9-12 Star monsters require three sacrifices. Q: Should I play the prequel to this game, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Sacred Cards, before purchasing this game? A: In my opinion, The Sacred Cards is easier to complete than this game, but Reshef of Destruction rewards your efforts with the Hall of Eternity. Q: What Trap Cards can prevent an Egyptian God Card from attacking? A: Infinite Dismissal and Amazon Archers can prevent an Egyptian God Card from attacking. Dragon Capture Jar can stop Slifer the Sky Dragon from attacking as long as it remains on the field. Q: What Magic Cards can prevent an Egyptian God Card from attacking? A: Swords of Revealing Light can prevent an Egyptian God Card from attacking. Q: What Magic Cards can decrease the ATK and DEF of an Egyptian God Card? A: Spellbinding Circle and Shadow Spell can do this. Q: What Trap Cards can decrease the ATK and DEF of an Egyptian God Card? A: Amazon Archers can do this. Q: What monsters can decrease the ATK and DEF of an Egyptian God Card? A: Viser Des, Red Archery Girl and Dark Jeroid can do this. Q: What cards can destroy the monsters in my opponent's hand? A: Helpomer and Final Destiny can do this. Q: Why does the cursor flash during every duel? A: The cursor flashes because the game is checking if your monster has a special effect. For example, Slifer the Sky Dragon's ATK and DEF increases as you draw more cards, so the game explains this after every move you and your opponent make during every turn. If your monster doesn't have a special effect, the cursor will still flash. Q: What monsters can destroy an Egyptian God Card? A: Monsters, such as Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Master of Dragon Soldier and Five God Dragon, can destroy an Egyptian God Card in one attack. Slifer the Sky Dragon is the only God Card that cannot be destroyed, unless your opponent also has Slifer in his/her deck. Although Obelisk the Tormentor and The Winged Dragon of Ra (Phoenix Mode) have less ATK and DEF Points than Slifer does, their special abilities can destroy the powerful God Card instantly. Q: Can Master of Dragon Soldier and Five God Dragon be affected by Magic and Trap Cards? A: Yes, they are affected by Magic and Trap Cards. Magic Cards, such as Beckon to Darkness and Raigeki, work on them. Trap Cards, such as Torrential Tribute and Widespread Ruin, work on them. Your opponent can also steal them from you by using Brain Control/Change of Heart, so I advise not using them in duels. Q: How do I use the Destiny Board card? A: To activate Destiny Board, simply place it on the field and wait for the four remaining Spirit Messages to appear and spell "FINAL". After five turns, you'll automatically win the duel. If you don't have any Spirit Message cards in your deck, they'll still appear and spell "FINAL". Q: If Yami Yugi, Yami Marik or Seto Kaiba resurrects an Egyptian God Card from my Graveyard, will they sacrifice it to summon their Egyptian God Card? A: No, they won't do this. Even if they have three monsters on the field, they won't sacrifice them to summon their Egyptian God Card since they want to keep your God Card in their possession. Q: Can the special abilities of normal monsters, such as Fiend's Hand and Zombyra the Dark, destroy an Egyptian God Card? A: No, they can't do this. Q: Can I use the Polymerization card in this game? A: No, you can't use it despite the fact that Kaibaman uses it during Chapter 3. Q: Can I sacrifice a monster after summoning it? A: No, you can't do this. You can, however, sacrifice monsters that are obtained by using Brain Control, Change of Heart or Monster Reborn. Q: What cards can take control of my opponent's monster? A: Brain Control, Change of Heart, Dark Necrofear, Relinquished and Thousand-Eyes Restrict can do this. Q: Why does the screen flash sometimes after my opponent's turn? A: The screen does this when your opponent sends a monster to the Graveyard. I advise checking your opponent's Graveyard after every turn to see if he/she has discarded a powerful monster, such as Five God Dragon and Perfect Machine King, to the Graveyard. You can then use Monster Reborn to bring it back to the field under your control. Q: Can Monster Reborn revive an Egyptian God Card from my opponent's Graveyard for more than one turn? A: Unlike the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, Monster Reborn can revive it for more than one turn, so make sure you don't discard your Egyptian God Card by mistake or your opponent may revive it. Q: When should I save my progress in this game? A: I advise saving your progress after every duel. Q: What are the passwords for Destiny Board, Messenger of Peace, and Widespread Ruin? A: Destiny Board's password is 94212438, Messenger of Peace's password is 44656491, and Widespread Ruin's password is 77754944. Q: How can I increase my Duellist Level? A: To increase your Duellist Level, you must challenge a duellist three times in a row. For example, if you challenge Tristan three times in a row, your Duellist Level will go up by one. Q: What cards should I use at the start of the game? A: Generally, you should use Trap Cards, such as Invisible Wire and Infinite Dismissal, and Magic Cards, such as Beckon to Darkness, to give yourself an advantage. Use monsters with 700+ ATK to defeat your first opponents and switch the monsters with multiplying special abilities, such as Doron and Toad Master, to get a chance to summon your most powerful monsters, namely the Egyptian God Cards. Q: How do I enter the Duel Express? A: Go right half-way across the screen to appear on the Duel Express. Q: I inputed a card password into the Password Machine, but I didn't recieve the card. How come? A: After you enter a card password, you must buy it from Grandpa before you can use it. Q: When does Bonz give me 3 Deck Capacity? A: Bonz gives you 3 Deck Capacity after you liberate the Town of Domino from the Neo Ghouls, but he'll only give you 1 Deck Capacity if you challenge him after you complete the game. I'm not sure about this though. Q: How do I use Ritual Cards, such as Black Luster Ritual and Dark Magic Ritual, in this game? A: 1) Place the Ritual Card on the field. 2) Summon the monster needed to start the Ritual. For example, Gaia the Fierce Knight is summoned to start the Black Luster Ritual. 3) Sacrifice two other monsters and activate the Ritual Card. Q: What are the special abilities of the Egyptian God Cards? A: The Winged Dragon of Ra (Sphere Mode) has no special ability. The Winged Dragon of Ra (Battle Mode) can reduce your opponent's Life Points by how much Life Points you have. The Winged Dragon of Ra (Phoenix Mode) can destroy every monster, including the Egyptian God Cards, on the field in exchange for 1,000 Life Points and can also summon Ra's Battle Mode when it is sent to the Graveyard. Obelisk the Tormentor can destroy every monster, including the Egyptian God Cards, and can also decrease your Life Points by 4,000. Slifer the Sky Dragon's special ability powers up its ATK and DEF by three for every card in your hand. Q: What is the password for #645 Dark Flare Knight? A: This question has already been answered in the FAQ. Q: What monsters can summon other monsters? A: Ancient Lamp, Toad Master, Doron, Revival Jam, Dark Flare Knight, Mirage Knight, and Spirit of the Books can summon other monsters by using their multiplying special abilities. Puppet Master can summon three monsters to the field in exchange for 1,000 Life Points if you have sent Gernia to the Graveyard. King's Knight can summon Jack's Knight to the field if Queen's Knight is on the field. Q: How do I use Puppet Master to summon three monsters to the field? A: In order to use Puppet Master to do this you must have sent Gernia to the Graveyard before summoning it. Since you must sacrifice a monster to summon Puppet Master itself, I advice waiting until you have the two monsters in your hand. Summon Gernia to the field and protect it until your next turn. Then sacrifice Gernia to summon Puppet Master and use its special ability to summon three monsters to the field. Q: How do I beat the monkeys at the Galappagos Islands? A: Use the cards in my deck to defeat them. If you don't have enough Deck Capacity to use all of them, I suggest placing 3 Infinite Dismissals, 3 Beckon to Darkness, 1 Dark Flare Knight, 3 Dorons, 3 Toad Masters, 3 Ancient Lamps, and 3 Acid Trap Holes in your deck. These cards should easily turn the tables on the monkeys. Q: What are the special abilities of The Winged Dragon of Ra in the anime? A: The Winged Dragon of Ra (Battle Mode) is unlocked by reading the ancient Egyptian text on the card. The Winged Dragon of Ra (Battle Mode) has the combined ATK and DEF Points of the monsters sacrificed to summon it. The Winged Dragon of Ra can transform into Egyptian God Phoenix when it is brought back from the Graveyard. After reviving The Winged Dragon of Ra, duellists can use the Instant Attack and Point-to-Point Transfer special abilities. Instant Attack allows The Winged Dragon of Ra to attack immediately, even if Swords of Revealing Light is in play, and Point-to-Point Transfer reduces a duellist's Life Points to 1 and uses the Life Points to power up Ra. Q: What are the special abilities of Slifer the Sky Dragon in the anime? A: Slifer the Sky Dragon powers up by 1,000 ATK and DEF Points for every card in a duellist's hand. Slifer's second special ability inflicts 2,000 ATK Points of damage to any monster that is played after the God Card is summoned. Q: What are the special abilities of Obelisk the Tormentor in the anime? A: Two monsters can be sacrificed to increase Obelisk's ATK and DEF to infinity and inflict an ATK of 4,000 on your opponent's Life Points. This lasts until the end of the turn. Q: When can I activate a monster's special ability? A: You can only activate a monster's special ability when it is face-down. Q: How do I challenge duellists? A: Check the Game Controls section. Q: Where do I input the card passwords? A: Check the Game Flow section. Q: What monsters are Effect Monsters? A: Check the Card Information section. ############################################################################## 20) Credits ############################################################################## Me: For writing this FAQ/Walkthrough You: For reading this FAQ/Walkthrough Konami: For developing a good Yu-Gi-Oh game GameFAQs: For hosting this FAQ/Walkthrough Deffkryz: For information on the games storyline and the card passwords Instruction Manual: For information MCG Master: For the side quest information ############################################################################## 21) Contact Information ############################################################################## If you have any questions about my FAQ/Walkthrough, you Email me at [email protected] ############################################################################## 22) Copyright Information ############################################################################## This may not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use.
