This guide was not copied nor was the information stolen. This is my second
walkthrough on cheatcodes for Resident Evil Outbreak, the first was under a
different member name. If you want to copy any part of this guide, e-mail me asking
permission and as long as you don't copy this guide to a different website and
personally take credit for it I won't care.If You have any questions about any of
the other scenarios feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]. Also for
those of you that have a network adapter and would like to play online with me, my
AOL Instant Messenger screen name is ZombieKiller122 and my RE name is ZombieKiller2.
- NOTE: If you have any suggestions/corrections or things you think should be added
to thisguide as long as you are polite and don't say my guide totally sucks or
anything I would appreciate your opinions. E-mail me, my e-mail adress can be found
above and if you don't use the cheatcodes member contact please make the subject of
the e-mail say something about RE. (DO NOT send me viruses, adware, trojans, or
anything else not involving Resident Evil) I am currently making a walkthrough for
RE 4 that should be done within the next two or three days, if you want/need help or

*~* Edit Dates *~*
- Wednesday, January 19, 2005 - It's been a while since I made this guide. I added
the passcode section, the checklists, and the hints & tips sections. Also I changed
the old herb chart to my newest made herb chart, changed a few things in the
characters section, and read over the guide to correct spelling/spacing errors.

- 2. CHARACTERS -
=================
==================
- A. Kevin Ryman -
==================
- OCCUPATION: Police Officer
- STARTING ITEM: .45 Automatic Handgun
- SPECIAL ACTION: Kick (Press O while holding R1)
- INFORMATION: Kevin Ryman is a good all around character and is great
for beginners. He has strength, speed and his own gun. Being a police
officer he shoots everything very accurately and can deal with monsters
quite well. He has no major disadvantages.
- RECOMMENDATION FOR SCENARIO: 4/5
===================
- B. Mark Wilkins -
===================
- OCCUPATION: Security Guard
- STARTING ITEM: Standard Handgun
- SPECIAL ACTION: Block (Press O while holding R1)
- INFORMATION: Mark is a big guy so he is a bit slow, but his size
gives him an advantage because he is very strong with melee weapons. He also fires
with good accuracy. His major disadvantage is running slow as mentioned above, so
it's not wise to use him in a scenario where you have to keep moving at a fast pace,
especially in Decisions, Decisions. He's alright for the first scenario.
- RECOMMENDATION FOR SCENARIO: 1/4
======================
- C. Alyssa Ashcroft -
======================
- OCCUPATION: Journalist
- STARTING ITEM: Lockpick
- SPECIAL ACTION: Backstep (Press O while holding R1)
- INFORMATION: Alyssa is the best female you can have in the game. Her
lockpick helps eliminate the need for some keys, she also runs fast and
fires somewhat accurately.
- RECOMMENDATON FOR SCENARIO: 4/5
=================
- D. David King -
=================
- OCCUPATION: Plumber
- STARTING ITEM: Tool Box
- SPECIAL ACTION: Wrench Throw (Press O while holding R1)
- INFORMATION: David can repair broken items with his toolbox function.
This is helpful in situations where a gun might break and he can create new weapons
by combining things in his tool box with other items. He can run at a fast pace and
he shoots accurately. He's not nearly as combative as Kevin or Mark, but his special
abilities help.
- RECOMMENDATION FOR SCENARIO: 4/5
===================
- E. Cindy Lennox -
===================
- OCCUPATION: Waitress
- STARTING ITEM: Herb Case
- SPECIAL ACTION: Duck (Press O while holding R1)
- INFORMATION: She's actually tougher than she looks. She's not
particularly good at shooting, but she can heal her partners among other
things. Her Duck ability helps her elude attacks from certain enemies. She's pretty
average overall.
- RECOMMENDATION FOR SCENARIO: 3/5
==================
- F. Jim Chapman -
==================
- OCCUPATION: Train Company Employee
- STARTING ITEM: Coin
- SPECIAL ACTION: Playing dead (Press O while holding R1)
- INFORMATION: He's annoying, he constantly whines but he's a good
character because he can play dead which helps to conserve ammo. Also this
special action can help not get attacked, the zombies wont even acknowledge him. He
runs fast, shoots well and is pretty good overall but if you use his special
abillity to much the virus meter will go up very quickly.
- RECOMMENDATION FOR SCENARIO: 4/5
==================
- G. Yoko Suzuki -
==================
- OCCUPATION: University Student
- STARTING ITEM: Backpack
- SPECIAL ACTION: Escape (Press O while holding R1)
- INFORMATION: She's slow, has a hard time aiming a gun, and is rather
weak in terms of strength. But her most redeeming factor is that she
has a backpack which helps her carry twice the amount of items. This alone helps her
avoid constant trading and backtracking.
~ Highly recommended as a partner character whenever possible. ~
- RECOMMENDATION FOR SCENARIO: 4/5
======================
- H. George Hamilton -
======================
- OCCUPATION: Doctor
- STARTING ITEM: Medical Kit
- SPECIAL ACTION: (Press O while holding or pressing R1)
- INFORMATION: George is a semi-frightened doctor, and being a doctor he
takes aim with his medical knowledge to mix up herbs and medicines and
such. He's a bit slow, and his shooting's not as good as it should be,
but he's recommended for health freaks out there.
- RECOMMENDATION FOR SCENARIO: 3/5

- 4. Walkthrough -
==================
You begin in a tunnel, you can find an herb nearby on the left. After the cutscene
pick up an iron pipe on the left side. Move through the open door onto the platform.
Climb up on the ledge towards the bottom of the screen. Walk forward until the
gunshot triggers yet another video.
Follow the narrow corridor around the left corner to the stairs. Ascend them until
you reach the ventilation shaft, jump up and crawl through. At this point the level
splits depending on which character you picked. You might be sent to B6F and you
might be sent to B7F.
Since characters can start on entirely different floors, the order of tasks below
will differ between the floor you are sent to. Characters starting on B6F will
obtain the valve handle first and use it to get to B7F to collect the chemicals.
Characters starting on B7F will obtain the chemicals first, use the chemicals to
kill the giant plant so they can reach B6F and obtain the valve handle.
I'll explain B6F first, if you start on B7F then skip ahead for now. If you start in
the East passge exit through the door into the B6F Security Center before the
zombies in the passage get up. Once in the Security Center use the door at the other
end of the room.
Now you are in the South passage, get the handgun but don't even bother picking up
the wrench and if you do beware of the zombie. Turn down the left hall and open the
door at the end leading to the B6F security center. Check the room for an herb and
first aid spray, and check the map on the left side. when you entered this room you
should have saw a maintence panel on the left side of the wall in front of the door,
use tackle or any other way you feel is neccesary to open the panel, take the valve
handle and use it on the nearby ladder. Pick up the ammo in front of you and descend
the ladder.
If you began on B7F then make your way through the B7F hallway into the B7F
laboratory to begin your walkthrough at this point. Once you have completed these
tasks and killed the infected plant, enter the B6F level and complete the
walkthrough at the beginning of this section to obtain the valve handle.
Once down the ladder search the lab for a variety of items: a file on the cabinet
ahead of you, some ammo for Kevins .45, a file near the computer (note the code),
an herb, and the chemical bottle which is used to throw at an opponet. Move left
from the ladder entrance to find the second door in the corner. Move into the B7F
east passage. Follow the passage to the door at the end and enter the B7F chemical
storage.
Beware of the zombies in here. Search the room for some items (a handgun, a chemical
bottle, and an herb) then move to the computer in the back right corner. Use the
computer and enter the passcode retrieved from the file in the laboratory. The code
possibilities are 0634, 4509, and 9741. This moves the storage units on the other
side of the room. Walk against the moved storage unit and pick up the VP-017.
Exit into the B7F east passage and return to the B7F laboratory. Move through the
first door on your left and into the B7F south passage. Follow the hallway to the
intersection and turn. Open the door and enter the B7F chemical disposal room.
Once inside walk to your characters right, you will see a stack of barrels and a red
light behind them, search that bright red spot to find a possible SP item. Cross the
chemical disposal room and approach the door to the left of the large window.
Sometimes you will see one of your partners being attacked by a zombie and sometimes
it will not come alive until you enter, either way just splatter his brains on the
wall. Inside the room, grab the UMB No. 3 and mix it with the VP-017 to create the V-
Jolt, used to kill the giant plant. Return to the B7F south passage and turn left at
the intersection. Open the door into the Duct.
Examine the wounded man in the corner. Give him a first aid spray and he will give
you a shotgun. Stand against the plant and use the V-Jolt to kill the over grown
dandelion. Climb the ladder to the first catwalk. here you can find a typewriter for
saving your game.
Use the valve handle on the hole to the right of the ladder. This raises the ladder
to the next floor of the duct. If you were on B7F or B6F either way you will meet
with your partners at this point or the level.
Enter the door on this second level catwalk and find yourself in the B5F area C
passage. Round the corner and beware of the crawling zombie. Pick up the file next
to the zombie to recover two passcodes: one for the B5F computer room and another
for the B4F east area passage.
Return to the duct and descend the ladder to the B6F catwalk. Open the door and
enter the B6F south passage. Follow the hall back into the B6F security center.
Approach the center of the security console and enter the two passcodes revealed on
the memo. The code combination possibilities are C582 and A194, A375 and B482, and
J126 and D580.
Return to the B6F south passage and the Duct. Go up the ladder to the next catwalk.
Open the door into the B5F area C passage. Enter the small crawlspace into the B5F
emergency passage. Traverse the path; grab the memo inside the emergency passage to
learn guest access on the computer terminal. Exit the emergency passage through the
other side and into the B5F area B passage.
Search the room for an herb (if youre Yoko, talk with the man). Cross the room to
the big bay door and use the console to its right. Avoid the larvae in the next
room. Open the next door into the B5F computer room (which you unlocked from the
security room). Investigate the computer room for some handgun ammo and health
items. Check out the computer in the corner. Use it to scan your fingerprint as a
guest. If the computer doesnt work, return to the B5F emergency passage and read
the memo there.
Return through area B, the emergency passage, area C, and back into the Duct. Climb
the ladder to the third catwalk. Open the door into the B4F west area passage. Enter
the door at the intersection into the main shaft. At this point, a gigantic mutant
insect snatches your character and places you inside a cocoon back in the B5F
computer room.
Struggle out of the cocoon and retrace your steps back to the B4F Duct and the main
shaft. Avoid the giant moth and enter the center intersection. The doorways are
color-coded. You arrived from the red one. Enter the blue one; this passage was
previously unlocked so enter the B4F east area passage.
Turn right at the intersection and move past the frozen enemy. Use the console on
the left. It requires a fingerprint, which you have previously entered into the
system. Enter the open door into the B4F culture room. Search the room for first
aid, ammo, chemical bottles, and a file.
The most important item is the blowtorch on the ground near the zombie. Once you
pick the blowtorch up the zombie will wake up and not be too happy, so try not to be
his snack. With blowtorch in hand, exit to the B4F east area passage. Follow the
hall past the intersection into the B4F low temperature laboratory.
Search the misty ground for first aid, a file, and a broken shotgun (which if
youre David, you can fix). Theres also a typewriter for saving your position.
Approach the corpse on the console. You cant operate the lever with the corpse
frozen to the console. Use the blowtorch to melt the frozen corpse. He automatically
pulls the lever.
Return to the main shaft but watch out for the huners, when you used the blowtorch
and that switch was pulled down to unfreeze the train these guys were thawed out
too. Follow the white area and enter the B4F turn table. Avoid the zombie and
approach the vehicle. The hunters will soon be coming through the door after they
followed you in the main shaft so try to avoid them also. Go to its left side and
pick up the turn table key nearby the counsel and use it on that councel to begin a
countdown. All of your living partners should reach the train. Climb up the ledge on
the back of the train to avoid hunters in the area, some may jump onto the ledge and
you will have to shoot them.
Ride the vehicle to the marshaling yard. Move forward to trigger the cut scene. Now
you must battle the Mutated G. Lure the creature onto the tracks. Move around to the
opposite side of the train and use the console when the Mutated G is standing on the
tracks. Perform this action twice to kill the monster. Or you can just make him
suffer and shoot him until he dies, but you might run out of ammunation and have to
use the train to kill him towards the end.
- NOTE: using the computer in the B6F security center is the quicker of the two
ways to unlock the doors, if you want to do it the longer way go to B4F right after
you see the video of Monica using the keycard to get onto the turn table. You will
find the keycard by side of the train when you enter the room, using the keycard is
part of your checklist so you might want to do it the long way at least once.

============
- 7. Tips -
============
A. You should always keep your partners around, they can help you carry more items
and kill more enemies. It's hard to keep them around sometimes because you cannot
controll them but when they are around they will be a big help. When playing online,
before the game starts it's usually best to talk about pairing up in groups of twos,
unless you are good enough to survive by yourself.
==================================================================================
B. Watch your virus gauge, using healing items will stop your virus gauge for a
short time. There are no ways to get the percentage to go back down so once it
starts going
up hurry to the end of the scenario before it reaches 100% or you will die and
become a
zombie. Your virus gauge usually isn't too important because it rarely reaches 100%,
unless you are continuously getting attacked and not using any items to stop it. The
virus
gauge never really has enough TIME to reach 100% except in Decisions, Decisions and
once
you use the Daylight Serum you're good to go.
=================================================================================
C. Conserve of ammo, like most Resident Evil games zombies will fall on the ground
but not die just yet(in this game it's much easier to take them down than in past RE
games)so just run passed them before they get back up. Also remember, these zombies
are idiots. If you are standing still sometimes they won't notice you, and if they
have their back to you walk on one side of the hall towards them and then go to
their other side and they will turn the wrong way, allowing you an easy pass to just
run by them. 90% of the time you can just run from an enemy and save the ammo (Hard
or Very Hard hellfire you definitally need to conserve of ammo because it is very
scarce and the Regis Licker requires quite a few bullets).
=================================================================================
D. Distribute items evenly, even your CPU partners need a weapon and healing item if
you want them to help you. Make sure you use the item menu quickly though because
unlike the past games going to the item menu will not pause game play and you will
get attacked by ememies.
=================================================================================
E. Watch your partners even though you might think they can't be very much help
they can very easily help you out, you have to study their actions. If your partner
is looking to his side instead of forward, there is probably an enemy off-screen
in that direction.If you search a room and don't find anything but the CPU keeps
entering that room and exiting again, there is probably an item in that room that
just isn't in plain sight (they will pick up anything in plain sight if they want it
but they won't search for hidden items).
=================================================================================
F. If you are having a hard time finding a key or perhapse you are in a hurry and
don't want to search for it, just use your physical attacks and break the door open
(like with Kevin when you hold R2 and press O he will do a kick, that kick works
wonders for kicking doors open).

G. This is along the line of conservation of ammo and using your physical attacks to
open doors, if there is a zombie coming towards you in an open area, why waste ammo
on it? If you use a physical attack and knock them backwards for a second you can
run right passed them and be gone before they even realize what happened.
George's "charged" tackle and Kevin's kick work for longer distances then the
regular tackles, and David's monkey wrenches are better than anything else but you
have a limited supply.

H. If you have one first aid spray left and you are in yellow caution, what do you
do? DON'T USE IT! You should always wait until you are in danger before using a full
healing item, only use healing items when you need them. Sometimes on Easy mode
healing items are plentiful and if you are worried about getting hurt too bad then
sure, go ahead and waste some health if you have more but on Hard/Very Hard you have
to be very careful with health, and definitally ammo.
