This is a FAQ/Move List for Lucha Libre: AAA Heroes del Ring. This guide
covers all aspects of the game and hopefully will be useful to a few people.
I have not written any kind of a guide in ages. Every once in a while, I get
an urge to write one, but never follow through with it. After playing through
this game and seeing that it did not have a guide, the guide writing craving
got the best of me.
In June 2011, Steve Mcfadden, better known as Psycho Penguin, passed away. We
would often discuss wrestling and wrestling related games. I would like to
dedicate this guide to him, even though he would probably be very upset with
the game itself since it is not very good. God bless you man! I really
wish we had been in better contact the past couple of years.

--- Attack ---
----------------
Use weak punches (X) and kick attacks (Y) to slowly wear down your opponent.
This will allow you a better opportunity to land successfully grapple your
opponent and land more powerful moves. You can also use strong attacks (B)
to help wear down your opponent, but these are very often reversed by the CPU,
especially on higher difficulty levels.
There are also specific attacks that can be executed by running before
pressing an attack button.

--- Grappling ---
-------------------
Grappling is essentially grabbing your opponent to perform a maneuver. There
are two types of grapples that can be initiated: weak (RT) and strong (LT).
After successfully grappling an opponent, you will be able to perform a
maneuver by pressing either A, X, Y, or B. Most weak grapples require very
little popularity, which means you can perform these moves almost no matter
what your popularity is. Strong grapples require various popularity ratings,
ranging from a 2 star rating to a 4 star rating. If you attempt to perform
one of these moves and your popularity level is not high enough, the move will
not be executed.
There are also specific grapples that can be executed by running before
pressing the weak or strong grapple button.

--- Special Moves ---
-----------------------
Each luchador has one special move, which is their most powerful maneuver.
Special moves are performed from a grapple. To successfully execute a special
move, your luchador's popularity meter will need to be completely full (5
stars). Once this has occurred, press RT and LT at the same time to "ignite"
your special meter. From here, you will have a limited amount of time to
perform the special move. While the special meter is ignited, press either
LT or RT to execute the move. You do not have to be grappling do to this,
only have a standing opponent within reach.

--- Downed Opponent ---
-------------------------
When an opponent is down, there are several options at hand. You can either
attack, grapple, pick up, or pin the opponent. You can attack the opponent by
pressing either X or Y. Pressing RT will do a grapple move to the opponent.
There are three different grapples depending on where you are relative to the
opponent (i.e. head, midbody, or feet). The opposing luchador will be picked
up by pressing B. Finally, you can pin your opponent by pressing LT.
Successfully pinning an opponent will require you do repeatedly press a
specific button. There is a gauge that will appear when you pin someone or
you are being pinned and the goal is to prevent your opponent from filling the
gauge.

--- Stun Gauge ---
--------------------
There is a stun gauge that will appear once you have inflicted enough damage
to an opponent. This typically occurs after knocking down the enemy. This
gauge will fill and indicates when your opponent will be able to freely move
around again.
This gauge will also appear once you have received enough damage. You will
not be able to get up or move until this gauge is full. To fill the gauge
faster, you can repeatedly press A.

--- Counter ---
-----------------
Countering is a very important aspect of Lucha Libre: AAA, especially on
higher difficulty levels. To counter an opponent's attack or grapple, press
the RB button. There is an indicator that will appear to help assist you in
countering. Timing is everything when it comes to countering. It is best to
have countering nearly perfected before tackling the Hard difficulty.

--- Aerial Attacks ---
------------------------
Aerial attacks consist of attacks from the turnbuckle and attacks to the
outside of the ring. First, you can climb the turnbuckle by pressing A in
the corner. From here, you can press either X or Y to attack your opponent.
There are different moves that will performed depending on whether your
opponent is standing or laying down. You can do this when your opponent is
inside or outside of the ring. If you have knocked your opponent into the
corner, you can also press RT or LT to grapple and execute a different move.
You can also perform an aerial attack when your opponent is outside the ring.
If you are inside the ring, run towards the ropes nearest your opponent. When
you get near the ropes, press B to perform an aerial attack from the ring to
the outside. This quickly fills your popularity meter.

--- Weapons ---
-----------------
Weapons are scattered around the outside of the ring. To pick up a weapon,
walk to it and press A. Use X or Y to attack an opponent with the weapon.
Pressing A again will drop said weapon.
If disqualification is turned off, you will be able to unlimitedly use
weapons. However, if you have disqualification turned on, you will only be
able to occasionally use a weapon. With disqualification turned on, you can
use a weapon once, but then the referee will give you a warning. This is
indicated with a red exclamation mark near your popularity meter. If you use
a weapon again while this warning is still in place, you will be disqualified
and lose the match. However, if you wait a little while, the warning will
disappear, which means you can use a weapon again without being disqualified.

--- Popularity Meter ---
--------------------------
The popularity meter is a unique feature in this game. It is a five star
popularity rating, which indicates the support a luchador currently has with
the fans. The higher the popularity, the more powerful moves a luchador can
execute. Many moves require a minimum popularity level before that move can
be performed. To execute a luchador's special move, all five stars will need
to be filled.
There are various ways to fill the popularity meter. Performing attacks,
grapple moves, counters, aerial moves, and taunts will increase a luchador's
popularity meter. Depending on a luchador's affiliation, some of these
factors will be more influential. For instance, a Tecnico will quickly gain
popularity by succesfully performing aerial attacks; whereas a Rudos will
quickly gain popularity by wrestling outside the ring. The easiest and
quickest way for me to fill the popularity meter, no matter if I am a Tecnico
or Rudo, is to use aerial attacks, counter, and taunt when my opponent is far
enough away.

Pride Battle is the quick match or exhibition mode of this game. From here,
you can wrestle in one of various different match types using any of the AAA
luchadores and your created luchadores.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Story Mode enables you to take a created luchador through either a Tecnico's
(good guys) or Rudo's (bad guys) campaign. There are 22 separate matches
(chapters) for each campaign, for a total of 44.

-=- King of Kings -=-
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
King of Kings is an 8 man, single elimination tournament. You can have up to
8 human characters wrestle or as many as 7 CPU opponents. When wrestling
against the CPU, the difficult progressively increases the further in the
tournament you make it.

-=- Online Mode -=-
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Online Mode enables you to play against other players, whether it is a player,
ranked, or private match. Player and private matches have all the same match
types available as the Pride Battle mode. Ranked matches can either be a
1 vs. 1 match or a Mask vs. Hair match.

-=- Training Mode -=-
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Training Mode allows you to watch tutorial videos, practice with Apache, and
see the controls.

You can create and edit up to four different luchadores in this menu.

This menu allows you to create a custom banner that will be shown by the
crowd.

The Extras menu allows you to view the biographis of the luchadores in the
game and watch cutscenes from the story mode after you have unlocked that
particular scene. Credits can also be viewed from here.

The options menu allows you to adjust commentaries language, subtitles, sound,
and grpahics.

This is your simple singles match.

A triple threat match is you vs. opponent 1 vs. opponent 2. There are no
teams or friends, all 3 people in this match are out to get each other. You
are able to set this match as an elimination or threat. Elimination means
wrestlers will be eliminated until there is only one remainig. Threat means
the match will end after the first pinfall or submission.

-=- Fatal Facing of 4 -=-
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
A fatal facing of 4 match is you vs. opponent 1 vs. opponent 2 vs. opponent 3.
There are no teams or friends, all 4 people in this match are out to hurt one
another. You are able to set this match as an elimination or threat.
Elimination means wrestlers will be eliminated until there is only one
remainig. Threat means the match will end after the first pinfall or
submission.

-=- Mask vs. Hair -=-
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This is a special match that is only avaible in ranked online matches and in
two matches during the Story Mode. This is essentially a 1 vs. 1 match, but
your mask or hair is on the line. If you lose, then you lose your mask or
hair. To regain it, you must win 3 ranked matches in a row.

Story Mode allows you to take a created luchador through either teh Tecnicos
or Rudos path. Tecnicos are good guys, whereas Rudos are typically bad guys.
Each pathway contains 22 matches. All matches with the name Retador indicates
your created luchadore will be participating. Retador essentially means
challenger.
Most of the singles (1 vs. 1) matches are fairly easy and straight forward.
However, multiple men matches (i.e. Triple Threat, 1 vs. 2, 1 vs. 3) can be
frustrating. To make these matches easier, I suggest beating down your
opponent outside of the ring and winning by countout whenever countounts are
on. This will make many of the multi-man matches easier and less frustrating.

and Gronda.

the biggest challenge of his career.

All of the unlockables and how to unlock are listed below. There are several
luchadores, rings, and videos that can be unlocked through Story Mode and
doing specific requirements in matches.
After unlocking achievements "Flying without a ticket" and "A fly hard to
catch", said I had unlocked Abismo Negro, the Map (ring) Irapuato, and the
video "Rudos vs. Tecnicos". However, I had already unlocked that luchadore
and was playing on that map. In actuality, Jack Evans and Extreme Tiger were
unlocked, respectively.

- Dark Scoria is unlocked after "The Bet Is On" in the Tecnico's Story Mode.
- Dark Ozz is unlocked after "A Messiah Has Arrived" in the Tecnico's Story
Mode.
- Psycho Clown is unlocked after "Three Rudos, One Tecnico" in the Tecnico's
Story Mode.
- Killer Clown is unlocked after "Who Wants to Go to the Circus?" in the
Tecnico's Story Mode.
- Kenzo Suzuki is unlocked after "The Flight of the Imperial Eagle" in the
Tecnico's Story Mode.
- Konnan is unlocked after "The Fall of the Legionnaire" in the Tecnico's
Story Mode.
- Dr. Wagner Jr. is unlocked after "The Arrive of Dr. Wagner" in the Tecnico's
Story Mode.
- Zombie Clown is unlocked after "Three Clowns" in the Rudo's Story Mode.
- Alan Stone is unlocked after "Look for Me and You Shall Find Me!" in the
Rudo's Story Mode.
- Superfly is unlocked after "Killing Flies" in the Rudo's Story Mode.
- El Mesias is unlocked after "The False Messiah" in the Rudo's Story Mode.
- Abismo Negro is unlocked after "The Show Must Go On" in the Rudo's Story
Mode.
- Cibernetico is unlocked after "The Heel Couple" in the Rudo's Story Mode.
- Espectro Jr. is unlocked after completing both the Tecnico's and Rudo's
Story Modes.
- Silver King is unlocked after winning the King of Kings with Espectro Jr.
- Jack Evans is unlocked after unlocking the achievement "Flying Without a
Ticket", which requires you to connect 10 aerial attacks through the ropes
to an opponent outside.
- Extreme Tiger is unlocked after unlocking the achievement "A Fly is Hard to
Catch", which requires you to perform 5 special grapples with Superfly in a
single 1 vs. 1 match against the CPU on normal difficulty.
- Marco Corleone is unlocked after unlocking the "That's How You Dance!"
achievement, which requires you to win a 1 vs. 2 match using El Elegido on
normal difficulty.

- Megacampeonato is unlocked after "The Match for the Mega-Championship" in
either Story Mode.
- Masks vs. Hair is unlocked after "The Mask of Funcionario" in the Tecnico's
Story Mode or "The Pray of the Mantis" in the Rudo's Story Mode.
- Families is unlocked after "The Arrive of Dr. Wagner" in the Tecnico's Story

There are a total of 50 achievemnts for this game. 47 can be obtained
offline, while the other 3 are online related achievements. There are also 4
secret achievements. Many of these achievements can be obtained by playing
through both story modes. The self explanatory descriptions will not have a
strategy.
- Don't try this at home!
Make a successful aerial attack from the turnbuckle.
- He thinks he's a superhombre
Make a successful aerial attack through the ropes to outside the ring.
- A legend is born
Attack Apache 10 times in Practice mode.
- Low stakes
Free yourself from a pin count having all the disadvantage in popularity.
*Kickout of a pin when you have zero popularity and your opponent has a
nearly full popularity.
- Domination
Execute 50 weak grapples in a match.
- Strong as a toro
Execute 10 strong grapples in a match.
- Challenge to the death
Win a 1 vs. 1 match in the Pride Battle mode.
- TOMA! Y no te doy otra no mas
Defeat the CPU by submission in a 1 vs. 1 match on normal difficulty, having
dealt 100% damage.
*You need to get every body part of your opponent dark red and then make him
tap.
- What a picture!
Perform a successful special grapple in any match.
- Butter arms
Execute 500 counters in any game mode.
- Showman
Perform all different taunts of the AAA luchadores (Only standing taunts
without weapons).
- Dancing man
Execute 4 complete taunts in a row in triple threat or fatal facing of 4.
- Bunch of chickens!
Do a simultaneous elimination of all your opponents in a triple threat or
facing of 4 match.
*It is easiest to have everyone outside fighting and have them get counted
out at the same time.
- Raise ravens...
Execute an eye poke 5 times in a row.
- New Megachampion
Defeat Konnan as La Parka in the story mode.
- Extinct religion
Defeat Dark Scoria in the Tecnicos' story mode.
- Nothing lasts forever
Defeat the clowns in the Tecnicos' story mode.
- Unbeaten Honor
Win the Mask vs. Hair match on the Tecnicos' story mode.
- A real Tecnico
Complete the Tecnicos' story mode.
- Feed that bone to another dog
Defeat La Parka as Konnan in the story mode.
- Don't cry little brother
Defeat Charlie Manson in the Rudos' story mode.
- The defeated redeemer
Defeat El Mesias in the Rudos' story mode.
- No dinasty is left standing
Defeat Dr. Wagner Jr. and Silver King in the Rudos' story mode.
- The most Rudo of all
Complete the Rudos' story mode.
- El Dorado
Complete both story lines in Hard.
- Rising Star
Win 5 matches in a row online using your custom luchador or luchadores.
- You're nobody
Win a mask vs. hair match.
*This must be done as a ranked online match to unlock.
- Long live me!
Win 5 masks vs. hair matches without losing the hair or the mask of your
luchador.
*This must be done as a ranked online match to unlock.
- Slippery like soap
Execute 50 successful counters in a match.
- With a hand tied behind my back
Win a 1 vs. 2 match alone vs. CPU on normal difficulty.
- Anyone else care to join?
Win a 1 vs. 3 match alone vs. CPU on normal difficulty.
- Pero sigo siendo el Rey
Win a king of kings tournament vs. 7 CPU opponents
- Diry game
Hit an opponent 3 times with a weapon without being disqualified
(disqualification on).
*To do this, pick up a weapon and hit your opponent. A red exclamation mark
will appear besides your popularity meter, which indicates a warning.
After a while, this warning will go away and allow you to hit your opponent
with another weapon.
- Left him outside!
Win a match by your oppoennt being counted out.
- Charismatic
Keep your popularity over 3 stars for 5 mins in a 1 vs. 1 match against CPU
on normal difficulty.
*This is easiest to achieve by continually beating up your opponent and/or
taunting. Whenever your popularity meter fills up, do not activate the
meter.
- A lo mero macho
Win a fatal facing of 4 match in elimination by eliminating all the 3
opponents.
- Little ones can too
Play a match with the little ones, using the secret code.
*The secret code is Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right. Apply
this code at the character select screen of a Pride Battle, then select
your characters and wrestle.
- Untouchable
Win a 1 vs. 1 match against the CPU without taking any damage on normal
difficulty.
- Cheering him up
make your own banner and make sure the crowd shows it for 3 minutes.
- Don't hit the dog
Win a group match without letting your partner receive more than 20% damage.
*Must be done on a 2 vs. 2 match. Try to quickly end the match so your
partner does not receive much damage. Best if done using easy difficulty.
- Which one's the most special?
Perform all the special grapples of the AAA luchadores at least once.
- Where do you think you're going?
Defeat a rudo CPU enemy in normal difficulty 1 vs. 1 without letting him
leave the ring.
- I want to be a robot
While in a pin, press the indicated button 12 times per second or faster.
*To make this easier, use a turbo controller. A drum controller can also
work when wrestling against another human opponent (i.e. you use two
controllers in a 1 vs. 1 match against yourself or a friend).
- Flying without a ticket
Perform 10 aerial attacks through the ropes in a 1 vs. 1 match against the
CPU on normal difficulty.
- That's how you dance!
Win a 1 vs. 2 match fighting alone with El Elegido against 2 rivals on
normal difficulty.
- Freeze! (secret)
Stand still for five (5) minutes (Pins and submissions excluded).
*Best done with 2 controllers.
- America's father in law (secret)
Execute Apache's Special Grapple
- El Chile mas chiloso (secret)
Defeat Espectro Jr. in the tecnicos' and rudos' story mode.
- Espectro the king (secret)
Win a king of kings championship playing as Espectro Jr.
