01. - INTRODUCTION
Hey gang! Back again from my last attempt with the FAQ on GT2 to
do some damage with Polyphony's latest creation GT3 A-Spec. Hopefully I
won't get burnt out as bad as I did on the last one seeing how I've yet
to touch the Japanese version. Translating everything quite pretty
tiresome. Besides, only a few insane few would rather talk ABOUT the
game than play it.
As of this time and date, 11:03pm on 07.10.01 I've only played the
demo and gotten a bronze medal on the first B-License test. I figure
this would be the best time of any to start this thing. So, thanks
again for checking this thing out and remember you can always make sure
you have the latest version by going to www.FFRacing.com and/or
www.GameFAQS.com. Let's get this show on the road shall we?

Finished section 3 and started the others listed
in the Table of Contents and most importantly, uploaded it
to GameFAQS.com for the first time. Fun stuff.

Finished section 9. Added the first IN GAME code! w00t!
Thanks to Chris Sicilia for that one!! Finished a few of the

This is your home and garage for all your cars.
Here you can save your game and check your
progressin the game. Your garage can hold up
to 200 cars.
4b.) Go Race
Races are being held in various categories.
Some races require a license to enter.
Set up a car to meet the race regulations and
try entering an event! To make progress in the
game, beginers need to try to win all the races
in the Beginer League, while more advanced
drivers need to conqeur all rounds in the
Amateur League.

License Center
We are now accepting applications for Gran
Turismo driving license tests. Beginers can
learn the basics of driving techniques. We
also offer tests for more advanced drivers
licenses for rally events.
Machine Test
Here you can check out the dynamic performance
of your car. Try out your car on the 0-400
meter (1/4 mile) acceleration test or measure
its top speed. Power up your car and then check
it out here.

The following options will affect various aspects of gameplay.
Each change will be saved to your game data for future use.
09a.) Screen Size
If you have a television that supports a 16:9 ratio,
you can change the screen to match the proportions.
If not, 4:3 is recommended.
09b.) Sound Options
In this selection you can adjust the audio on/off of
the following:
Menu BGM : Background music during navigation
menu
Menu SE : Menu screen sound effects
Race BGM : Background music during gameplay
Race SE : Gameplay sound effects
Replay BGM: Background music during replays
Replay SE : Vehicle sound diring replays
09c.) Music List
Customize the selection or play order of your favorite
songs. To remove a song from the playlist, highlight the
song and press the X button. To move a song in a different
location in the playlist, highlight the song, press the
right directional button and move the selection up or down
to the location desired and press the X button.
09d.) Vibration
Here you can enable or disable the vibration function on the
Dualshock 2 anaong controller.
09e.) Key Configuration
Key Configuration allows you to customize the racing
controls. To alter button assignments, select a control
function and press left/right on the directional buttons
/left analog stick to re-assign. You can also assign the
left or right analog sticks to perform control functions.
09f.) Arcade Race Options
The following options affect Arcade Mode race settings:
Transmission : Selects the default transmission type.
Driving Assist ASM (Active Stability Management):
When activated, reduces car spin.
Driving Assist TCS (Traction Control Systems):
When activated, reduces wheel slip in
high-powered cars.
09g.) 2 Player Battle Options
The following options affect 2 player battle event races in
Arcade Mode.
Race Laps : Sets the number of laps needed to
complete a single race.
Tire Damage : If enabled, tire damage occurs on all
vehicles, requiring occassional pit stops
when tire ttaction and handling response
deteriorates.
Handicap : Alters the starting positions of the two
drivers to give the advantage to one
vehicle.
Slow Car Boost : Provides the slower vehicle with an
additional speed boost to simulate a
competitive spirit.
09h.) Ghost Settings
Ghost settings allow you to choose to update Ghost data
automatically with the best times from Ghost data.
09i.) GT Force Settings (1 and 2
Adjusts the sensivity of the GT Force steering wheel.
There are several pre-calculated settings to choose from.
09j.) Default
Selecting Default restores all option settings to the
original configurations.

10. - THE LICENSE TESTS
This is definitely the most difficult part of the Gran Turismo

I remember when I used to work at a Babbages/Software Etc and I
talked with many, many people that had just given up on the tests.
"NO! This is the MAIN part of the game! You haven't played Gran
Turismo until you've played the All Nighter!" I would tell them. Some
of them listened, some of them didn't. The ones that did though
thanked me. I would always point them towards the demos, and in GT2
they've made it SO much easier to view the "masters" at work. To view
these simply select "Demonstration" from the tests menu. Watch these
guys very closely. Where they brake, when they turn, how much they
turn, their speed through the corners, their speed on the
straight-aways and anything else you may find that helps you. When
you think you're ready select "Start" and prepare for a long
frustrating battle.

I thought the number of cars in the first Gran Turismo was amazing
but a game of this magnitude in the hands of Sony can only get better.

PROFESSIONAL MODE
While in Arcade Mode when selecting the difficulty level arrow
down and highlight hard. Now hold down R1 and L1 and hit X and
you will be able to play in professional mode. This mode offers
a 10 lap race with no hadicaps and tire damage.
