======================================================================== GRAND THEFT AUTO IV "THE BALLAD OF GAY TONY" SPECIAL VEHICLE FAQ ======================================================================== Author: Johnny H. H. the 4th (Lancet Jades) Author's Homepage: http://www.evermoreforums.com/forums/index.php Version: 1.51 (completed September 26th, 2011) Sites with permission to post this FAQ: GameFAQs.com Neoseeker.com Gamesradar.com Gamershell.com Supercheats.com ======================================================== ABOUT ======================================================== This guide is to assist those players who enjoy collecting rare or unique vehicles. This guide lists all known proofed, special property, unique, and even rare vehicles (which often have to be unlocked). This is NOT a "rare car" guide. Vehicles that appear rarely, but DO appear in free roam (such as the Comet) do NOT qualify for the scope of this guide. Only cars that have something special about them that is normally unavailable are included. This includes special features, paintjobs, proofings, or being unavailable outside of missions entirely. Vehicles such as these are a staple of the GTA series, and this entry is no exception. I wrote this guide with the Xbox 360 DLC version, not the PS3, PC, or Episodes from Liberty City version. I have since checked it in the 360 EfLC version as well, but if you notice a difference, such as a particular strategy or glitch not working, contact me and let me know (be sure to mention which version you're playing). Saves are fully compatible between both the DLC and EfLC versions of TBoGT. CAUTION! This guide may inadvertently contain spoilers of story missions! While this guide's scope does not really involve spoiling anything, due to what is required of it, it does possess a list of mission names at the very minimum, which may have the potential to spoil parts of the game. NOTE: This guide is written without the mission replay feature in mind. As many definitions used depend on whether a vehicle is available at the end of the game, this would result in categories being rendered useless. I will make a note of which vehicles may be infinitely obtained via mission replaying. ======================================================== TABLE OF CONTENTS ======================================================== 1: Glossary of terms 1.1 - Using cops to transport unjackable cars 2: Safehouses and Parking Spots 3: Unique vehicles 3.1 - Swift w/ side door open (1st of 2) 3.2 - Caddy 3.3 - Caged Caddy 3.4 - Swift w/ side door closed (1st of 2) 3.5 - Skylift (1st of 2) 3.6 - Lustered Stretch E 3.7 - Black Slamvan 3.8 - Swift w/ side door open (2nd of 2) 3.9 - Hexer 3.10- Skylift (2nd of 2) 3.11- Bati Custom 3.12- Swift w/ side door closed (2nd of 2) 3.13- Schafter (redesign) 4: Specially colored/featured vehicles 4.1 - Bright Red Buffalo (1st of 3) 4.2 - Pink Feltzer 4.3 - Bright Blue Buffalo 4.4 - Black "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill (1st of 2) 4.5 - Solid Black Sanchez 4.6 - Black "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill (2nd of 2) 4.7 - White "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill 4.8 - Bright Red Buffalo (2nd of 3) 4.9 - Dark Red Buffalo 4.10- Bright Red Buffalo (3rd of 3) 4.11- White Bullet GT w/ red racing stripes 4.12- Bright Blue F620 4.13- Solid Black Maverick (1st of 2) 4.14- Bright Red Comet 4.15- Bright Red Oracle 4.16- Solid Black Maverick (2nd of 2) 4.17- Gold Manana w/ maroon roof 4.18- Bright Red F620 4.19- Silver Habanero (1st of 2) 4.20- Silver PCJ 600 (1st of 2) 4.21- Silver Habanero (2nd of 2) 4.22- Silver PCJ 600 (2nd of 2) 5: Lustered vehicles 5.1 - Black Cavalcade FXT 5.2 - Black Landstakler 5.3 - Black Oracle 5.4 - Silver PMP 600 5.5 - Black PMP 600 5.6 - Red Peyote w/ black roof 5.7 - Black Stretch 6: Unobtainable special vehicles 6.1 - Black Lycan with Flames (1st of 3) 6.2 - BP/FP/EP Serrano 6.3 - BP/FP/EP Beater Vigero 6.4 - UJ Black Reefer 6.5 - Black Lycan with Flames (2nd of 3) 6.6 - Black Lycan with Flames (3rd of 3) 6.7 - Solid Black Maverick 6.8 - Skylift w/ subway car 6.9 - Dark Green Vincent 7: Rare vehicles 7.1 - Black Cavalcade w/ dark rims 7.2 - Police Maverick 7.3 - Tuner Serrano 7.4 - Smuggler 7.5 - Buzzard 7.6 - Super Drop Diamond 7.7 - APC 7.8 - Green Bullet GT w/ black stripe 7.9 - Bright Yellow Comet 7.10- Dark Red F620 7.11- Lustered Silver Comet 7.12- Pink Flatbed 7.13- White and Orange Sanchez 7.14- Annihilator 7.15- Akuma 7.16- Black Buzzard 8: Multiplayer-only vehicles 8.1 - Police Bike 8.2 - Police Patrol 8.3 - Police Stinger 8.4 - Brickade 9: Drug Wars vehicles Vehicle possibilities: Banshee Blade Blista Compact Buffalo Bullet GT Comet Dinghy F620 Huntley Sport Maverick Presidente Primo Sabre GT Sentinel Sultan Sultan RS Super Diamond Tampa Uranus (Tuner) Voodoo Color possibilities: Black w/ green luster and dark gray stripe Black w/ white luster and green stripe Blue and black w/ red luster Dark red and greenish-yellow White w/ light gray stripe 10: Vehicles not present in TBoGT Motorcycles - Choppers: Angel Daemon Diabolus Innovation Lycan Nightblade Revenant Wayfarer Wolfsbane Motorcycles - Sport: Bati 800 Double T Custom Hakuchou Custom Other vehicles: Gang Burrito Laundromat Police Stockade Prison Bus Regina Rhapsody Roman's Taxi Romero Towtruck 11: Vehicles added in TBoGT, and redesigned vehicles 12: Mission list 13: Frequently Asked Questions 14: Contact info 15: Credits 16: Version history 17: Boilerplate ======================================================== *1* GLOSSARY OF TERMS ======================================================== This is a glossary of all the special terms used in this guide. BP - Bulletproof. This vehicle will not take damage from bullets. Windows cannot be damaged, and shots will not count towards the car being destroyed. Unlike the previous GTAs, tires are apparently also immune to being popped by gunfire. FP - Fireproof. This vehicle will not catch fire or otherwise take damage from molotovs. Tires can still catch fire unfortunately. EP - Explosionproof. This car is immune to explosive damage, such as from grenades, rocket launchers, or exploding cars. Does not stop the car itself from exploding if somehow critically damaged. DP - Damageproof. This car cannot be damaged by bashing it around (into other cars, walls, etc.) or by melee attacks (unproven). The car will still take cosmetic damage, such as dents and scrapes (even to the point of impeding functions, such as a wheel well being destroyed). CP - Comprehensiveproof. This combines the qualities of bulletproof, fireproof, explosionproof, and damageproof. UJ - Unjackable. Now that even locked cars can be jacked by breaking the windows, UJ means that Luis will simply refuse to break the windows and get in. Even breaking the windows anyways, he still refuses to open the doors. Beater - A rustbucket. One of the rusty, falling-apart cars that occasionally spawn. Used in the first nine levels of the Little Jacob's drug delivery missions. Confirm - To "confirm" a car is to return to the parking spot where it was left BEFORE continuing with the game (most notably saving and loading). Cars parked during missions are retained, but only during that game session, as parking spots are "turned off" during missions (to prevent abuse to repair your car). Confirming it causes the game to recall the car, and as a result, store it properly next time it is removed (when you save and load, or drive away again). Failure to do this will lead to the car vanishing, even though it was in a parking spot. Description - A description of unique color/feature vehicles and WHY they are unique. Discovered by - This is not necessarily the first person to discover a vehicle, but rather the first person to report it to me. I will add the original discoverer if I'm able to determine who originally found it, however. Double-drive - Double-driving is used in some vehicle strategies. It involves driving two vehicles at once back to your safehouse. One is the special vehicle you're trying to obtain, the other is a vehicle some important person from the mission is in, and if you go too far away, you will fail. You essentially drive one car partway towards the destination (usually a parking spot), then get out and drive the other a bit farther, and repeat ad nauseum. Slow, but guaranteed to work, as long as you don't put too much distance between them. You don't risk failing the mission, but rather the vehicle you're trying for may vanish. If one vehicle is powerful enough to push the other, you can do that instead to expedite the process. EfLC - "Episodes from Liberty City." This term refers to the compilation of both the TLAD and TBoGT DLC episodes in disc form, available as a stand-alone game. These are specifically NOT DLC, do NOT require the GTAIV disc, and cannot "blend" the radio content from GTAIV with their own. EfLC's TLAD contains map upgrades added in TBoGT, and is incompatible with the DLC version's multiplayer. Fire Truck Trick - This is simpler than it may sound. The Fire Truck's water stream is able to not only push small vehicle, but put out any fire that starts. This allows rapid pushing of motorcycles and other such vehicles without concern for their damage, as if they catch fire, it will put it out, restoring it back to simply heavily smoking. This is a much, much quicker and more effective strategy than it sounds. Formulated by - This is who informed me of the strategy to obtain the vehicle. Vehicles that were pointed out to be, but where I was given no strategy to obtain it often lead to me developing the strategy, although most will have the same entry for Discovered and Formulated by. NOTE: Vehicles that are given to you (such as the Caddy) have no strategy credits listed, as it is too simple to warrant credit. In addition to this, I no longer list who created strategies when a vehicle is easy to see and is made clear to you, such as if a target in a mission drives it, meaning you must shoot them out. If anything more is needed, including mission failure, credit will be mentioned however. GTAIV - References to GTAIV refer specifically to the main game and storyline of GTAIV itself, e.g. the game with Niko as the player character. For the purposes of this guide, it is considered a completely separate game from both the TLAD and TBoGT DLC episodes. Hybrid Grill - This is a rather specialized term. Some PMP 600s in a few missions (check the vehicle list for which have it) have a special "hybrid" style grill not seen with other PMP 600s. It is called hybrid because it's a cross between the normal grill (a lot of vertical bars), and the "Mafia" PMP 600 grill (a few vertical bars with a mesh backing). The hybrid grill has a lot of vertical bars and the mesh backing. So far, the PMP 600 is the only vehicle known to have a completely different grill used only in story mission vehicles (with no pattern at that). Jack - To jack a vehicle means to steal it. This is probably not a necessary entry, but I figured I'd add it just in case. Rare - This is used in the guide as an "unlockable" vehicle, unavailable until the condition to unlock it has been met, but infinitely available thereafter. Tuner - A "tuner" car is a special modified version of the vehicle, usually adding spoilers and other modifications. These often come in only one color. They still have the same name as the base vehicle, so a tuner Sentinel is still labeled "Sentinel" in the game. A lot of tuner cars in this game are NOT "unique," but found randomly on the street (albeit rare at times), and thus will not be included in this guide unless otherwise warranted. Unique - This vehicle is unique and found in story missions only, or other limited-time availability missions, and thus can be missed altogether. If missed, it cannot be seen again unless the game is restarted, Unlockable - This term in my guide denotes a vehicle that is only infinitely available either through story missions and/or by unlocking it at some point through the story, whether by completing a mission, finishing a side mission, or even a vehicle that is only available during a side mission, but is repeatedly available by doing the mission over and over at your leisure. Unobtainable - A vehicle that, for whatever reason, cannot be obtained and/or stored with its properties. NOTE: During some missions, AI drivers that you chase are given "super" stats: speed, acceleration, turning, etc, designed to ensure that you cannot catch up to them until the game deems it okay (usually involves the target reaching their destination intact). If you are in danger of catching up or passing them (or if you take a shortcut to do so), they hyper-accelerate to stay in the lead. They also tend to slow down and "wait" for you if you fall too far behind, although they never stop completely. This goes along with the fact such chases are usually scripted. --------------------------- 1.1 - USING COPS TO TRANSPORT UNJACKABLE CARS --------------------------- This strategy is courtesy of GTA Phreak. It gives a strategy to get cops to jack UJ vehicles and "transport" them for you. Cops aren't bound by the unjackable attribute some special vehicles have, making them a good method to get difficult vehicles long distances. He writes the following: USING COPS TO DRIVE UNJACKABLE CARS In general the cops will chase your vehicle on foot as long as you're very close. When you get a certain distance away from the cop he will stop chasing you and head for the nearest vehicle (the effect is clearly visible if you observe him while slowly pulling away). They don't seem to prefer parked cars over stopped and still occupied cars, but they will backtrack away from you if there's a car behind them. Cops in cars will chase your vehicle and try to ram you regardless of what their car (or bike) is. Beware that only real police cars are marked on radar. They will leave their car if it gets flipped, catches fire or gets stuck for a prolonged time. They will also exit their car if you exit your vehicle near them or you get stuck for a prolonged time near them. Their car will not disappear as long as there are cops in it, even if left out of sight. There's a more general police unspawning effect that can remove them if you move very far away (several blocks). Getting your unjackable car transported by the cops is all about manipulating the above to your advantage. To get cops into the vehicle, get a wanted level (or dial 911-1) and preferably jack the first police car that arrives at the scene. That will leave cops on foot and you will be driving a vehicle. Drive back and forth past the vehicle you want transported, - just beyond the distance where they'll give up chasing you on foot, while keeping the target vehicle in sight. Once they're in the vehicle lead them away, they will chase you relentlessly. In this phase you cannot leave your vehicle or get stuck near the vehicle being transported, if you do the cops will abandon their vehicle. If you have to change car you need to do it far enough away so that they'll still prefer driving after you (I'm not sure how far that is, I never had to swap vehicle). You can't really control if they flip the vehicle or damage it so much that it catches fire. But avoid starting fires they can get caught in. If they get stuck, double back, and if possible lead them off in a different direction (use the situation to temporarily lose as many of the other pursuers as possible). Once you're getting close to your parking space allow the transported vehicle to close up and to start ramming you. You want it to ram you from within your parking space, with your own vehicle blocking right next to the space. Once the target vehicle is within the space, exit. That will cause the cop driving the transported vehicle to exit as well and start chasing you on foot. The reaction is almost instant, so it isn't difficult to achieve. Although your target vehicle most likely isn't equipped with a shotgun, all other cops you dragged along will also exit their police cars, and they will have shotguns, so don't linger. Either sprint inside your safehouse and save/sleep off the wanted level or sprint down the street and grab a different vehicle (possibly one you had parked earlier and rammed a bit down the street). You need it to be a bit down the street, otherwise you could get the target vehicle re-jacked. Leave the area as fast as possible, allowing the parking space to store the target vehicle before the cops can mess with it. Executing a mission replay might also work, but using the phone under fire is difficult. Although you only need a 1 star wanted level to do all this, it will eventually escalate to 2 stars because you'll be evading arrest (by the cop driving your target vehicle). It is however much easier to make progress at 1 star, so get as much distance as possible before the wanted level rises. Keep in mind, the mission must NOT be active to accomplish this! Cops won't touch cars "marked" as part of the mission, so the mission must be inactive (pass or fail) to pull this off. Following is a list of vehicles this strategy may be effective for obtaining. They are rated with one to five stars, based on the theoretical value of this trick vs. simply pushing the car, based on factors such as distance to travel, and the weight of the vehicle that must be pushed. -3.3: Caged Caddy (****) -4.2: Pink Feltzer (****) -4.6: Black "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill (*) -4.7: White "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill (*) -4.12: Bright Blue F620 (***) -4.14: Bright Red Comet (****) -5.1: Lustered Cavalcade FXT (*****) ======================================================== *2* SAFEHOUSES AND PARKING SPOTS ======================================================== These are places to store your vehicles. Whenever a parking spot is loaded into the game's memory, the vehicles therein are restored to top condition and health. Even destroyed vehicles will be repaired, so long as you get the carcass of the vehicle into the spot. Even helicopters and boats may be saved in parking spots. Each spot can hold two vehicles maximum. More than two cars CAN be stored in a parking spot on a temporary basis, however. It will retain 3+ cars normally, however whenever you save and reload the game, you will find only two cars remaining, chosen randomly from any that were "in the space" at the time of saving. Parking spots are ALWAYS available, even if you do not own the safehouse yet, or have lost it via story progression. This includes Niko's old parking spots from safehouses in GTAIV, as well as Johnny's parking spots from TLAD. It was brought to my attention by Matt J that a viable strategy for obtaining most special vehicles in missions is to park it in a parking spot, then commit suicide. This will fail the mission, and upon return to the parking spot, the vehicle will still be there. The total amount of vehicle storage available is 16 (8 parking spots). Luis' Apartment, Galveston Ave., North Holland (Algonquin) -Unlocked after I luv LC "The Lost" Clubhouse, Berners Rd., Acter (Alderney) -Parking Spot ONLY Brian's Apartment, Hardtack Ave., Tudor (Alderney) -Parking Spot ONLY Roman's Apartment, Mohawk Ave., Hove Beach (Broker) -Parking Spot ONLY Mallorie's Apartment, Joliet St., South Bohan (Bohan) -Parking Spot ONLY Roman's New Apartment, Albany Ave., Middle Park East (Algonquin) -Parking Spot ONLY Playboy X's Mansion, Xenotime St., Northwood (Algonquin) -Parking Spot ONLY Ray's Apartment, Mahesh Ave., Alderney City (Alderney) -Parking Spot ONLY NOTE: Motorcycles in parking spots have a particular behavior which can be troublesome for extended storage. Every time the motorcycle is "loaded" into the game world, it repositions it based on the "center" of the vehicle's actual position, NOT on where it touches the ground. This means that every time it is loaded, it spawns a little bit farther in whichever direction it is leaning. If leaning towards the curb, it will eventually reach the curb, and from then on simply load while sitting against it. This is the position you want the motorcycle to be in, as it will last indefinitely. However, if it leans towards the street, it will continue creeping closer and closer, until it finally is spawned IN the street, outside of the parking spot, and thus will vanish for good once you leave the area. Always make sure motorcycles lean towards the curb. Some quirks parking spots have: South Bohan: If an obstacle is placed correctly on the road near the parking spot, cars driving down the road often swerve directly into the spot, displacing any vehicles there. This can get so bad that you cannot leave without losing a car, because anytime you re-park the cars, another will knock them out before you can leave. Be very careful about this! Middle Park East: If you take a taxi to either the safehouse's icon, or to a waypoint set to the icon, it will park in the middle of the parking spot, displacing your existing cars. This is especially bad if you trip skip. ======================================================== *3* UNIQUE VEHICLES ======================================================== These vehicles only appear during story missions, and once the game is completed, cannot be acquired without cheating. Or so it went in the past. These may still be obtained by replaying the mission at the end of the game (and replays don't count towards "Missions Attempted/Failed/Passed," which makes it even easier! NOTE: The above ONLY applies to story missions. Side missions (random encounters and club management) are once-off, and very missable! --------- 3.1 - Swift w/ side door open (1st of 2) --------- Mission: Free roam Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Da Blazian, confirmed by SketchySpider Description: A large white helicopter with stiffer controls than a Maverick, but much sturdier. This particular one has the side doors open, like a Maverick's. This version is obtainable any time after finishing the storyline, by replaying the mission "...Blog This!" Strategy: This is parked at Yusuf's helipad in Westminster, Algonquin from the very start of the game. At the end, however, it is replaced with the gold Buzzard, and therefore is unavailable at that point. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 3.2 - Caddy --------- Mission: Practice Swing (Tony Prince) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A basic golf cart. Not much else to say. Strategy: One of these is used later in the mission. It is kept even after finishing the mission, so just drive it to a parking spot afterwards. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 3.3 - Caged Caddy --------- Mission: Practice Swing (Tony Prince) Difficulty: **** Required: Mission failure and a Fire Truck Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: This Caddy has a cage surrounding the inside of the cart. This is a unique feature that can only be found on the one Rocco drives. Despite the cage, Luis will get in and out just like a normal Caddy, seemingly ignoring that the cage exists at all. Strategy 1: This is the Caddy driven by Rocco. There is only one way to get this: first, complete the mission up until Rocco parks his Caddy a ways away from the golf course. Don't enter the marker! Instead, get out of your own Caddy, then plant a sticky bomb on it. Shoot Rocco until he dies, then quickly detonate the bomb; Tony will die too, and there will be no post-mission cutscene. Call Henrique and order a vehicle (a Buffalo is a good option, but the Bullet GT is superior if this is via replay). Push the car out into the street, then call 911 and the Fire Department. Use the Fire Truck to push it all the way to Luis' apartment. Along the way, the Fire Truck's water stream should knock the body out of the Caddy. This is important! If this fails to happen, it will not save properly. Once the body is gone and the Caddy is in a parking spot, save the game, and it should save properly. To be sure, drive around the block once it is in the parking spot. Formulated by: adamcs Strategy 2: Instead of the above, play the mission until Rocco parks the Caddy, then call Henrique for a Bullet GT. Use the Bullet to push the Caddy over, and Rocco should get out in protest. Quickly kill Rocco and Tony to prevent the mission over cutscene, then push the caged Caddy to a parking spot at your leisure. This eliminates the need to use the Firetruck to knock Rocco's body out (so it will save properly), and avoids most of the hassle of a potential wanted level. Pushing it too violently may still cause one, though, so be careful. Formulated by: minczgamers Strategy 3: Proceed as usual until Rocco parks the Caddy. Call Henrique for a Bullet GT, get in, and Tony will also get in. Begin pushing the caged Caddy to a parking spot (Rocco is still in it at this point). Be careful not to push it over, or Rocco will get out and the mission will fail! If it goes on its side, back up and let it correct itself. The Caddy will skid the entire way, but this won't affect anything. Once in a parking spot, ram it to tip it over until Rocco gets out. Quickly correct it (or let it correct itself) or it'll blow up. Push it into the parking spot, then use the Bullet GT to gently push Rocco away. Get out, get Tony near him, then kill them both quickly (a rocket or sticky bomb may work). If done properly, the mission will fail, and the Caddy will be sitting in the parking spot! The reason for this strategy is the roads will have no traffic, making the push much easier. Formulated by: aftica --------- 3.4 - Swift w/ side door closed (1st of 2) --------- Mission: Caught With Your Pants Down (Yusuf Amir) Difficulty: * Required: Suicide and mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A large white helicopter with stiffer controls than a Maverick, but much sturdier. This particular one has the side doors closed, unlike the Maverick's (which are always open). Strategy: Fly to a parking spot after you get in the Swift. Kill Yusuf, then quickly kill yourself, before the mission over cutscene plays. If done correctly, when you return, the Swift should be there waiting. To quickly kill yourself, walk away from the Swift, snipe Yusuf, then blow yourself up with rockets or maybe a sticky bomb. Formulated by: GTA Wiki --------- 3.5 - Skylift (1st of 2) --------- Mission: For the Man Who Has Everything (Yusuf Amir) Difficulty: ***** Required: Weapons to shoot it down (Shotgun w/ exploding shells recommended) Discovered by: -MB- Description: A large, oddly-shaped blue helicopter designed for aerial transport of vehicles. This is the normal version, with just the helicopter itself. This helicopter is over twice the size of the Annihilator, making it the biggest helicopter in GTA history. Strategy: This is not terribly difficult to get, but requires precision. This is best done via mission replay, as the explosive shotgun is the best weapon to get this with. Any can work, but it is much simpler with it. Proceed with the mission until you get in the Swift with Yusuf. Instead of heading to the Skylift, fly to the Broker Bridge and land on the western tower (the large, flat bridge supports). Once here, arm your weapon and wait for the Skylift to appear. Once it does, you need to hit it with four explosive shells to bring it down. Make sure the last one connects when it is directly over the middle of the platform you are on! It is critical to bring it down at that EXACT moment, and no sooner or later. If done correctly, it will head towards the Pier 45 building as it crashes. The game will then shift to the mission failure cutscene. If the Skylift was shot down correctly, you should see it crashing at Pier 45 as soon as the cutscene starts. Immediately skip the cutscene, and once back in control of Luis, turn the camera to look to Pier 45. The destroyed Skylift should be visible in the distance. If so, success! Run to it, keeping it in view at all times. Now comes the annoying part. Use the APC cheat (272-555-8265) to call an APC, then use the cannon to push the Skylift along the road until you reach Niko's Middle Park East safehouse parking spot. The Remove Wanted Level cheat will also be necessary (267-555-0100), and the Health cheat (362-555-0100) will help if the APC takes too much damage. Once the Skylift is at the parking spot, push it in, and quickly drive away! With a large amount of luck, when you return, the Skylift will be fully repaired and ready for flying. If so, get in and reposition it to better situated. Park the Skylift so that the front wheel and right-rear wheel are within the yellow parking zone. This will allow you to keep the Skylift! Other positions won't store it properly, and other safehouses don't allow enough room to safely store it. There is a chance the Skylift will vanish once it is pushed into the parking spot, since this game seems to often delete destroyed vehicles within the parking spots. If so, just try again. Although not very reliable, it's better than nothing, especially if you are unable to get it from the other mission, due to playing on a PS3, or having too many cheats stored in your cellphone. Formulated by: -MB- --------- 3.6 - Lustered Stretch E --------- Mission: Frosting on the Cake (Tony Prince) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: This is much shorter than the normal Stretch, and looks a bit less fancy. It also has a luster, making it rather unique. The only non-lustered Stretch E available in the game is if one is found randomly on the streets while driving one. Strategy: This is the car you drive for most of the mission. After passing, you get to keep it, so park it and save the game. The one used during the first part of the mission is the same one used at the end, so there's no concern over losing whatever luster you may start with. NOTE: This vehicle can appear randomly on the streets, but ONLY if you are driving one yourself, or much less likely, if one was recently in the game's memory (such as after a mission featuring it). It is thus still unique, as unless you obtain it in or after a mission where it is used, you won't see one elsewhere. --------- 3.7 - Black Slamvan --------- Mission: Frosting on the Cake (Tony Prince) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Mrlampswitchable Description: A special van with an oddly curved body and unique-looking wheels. Altohugh all Slamvans are unique, the ones found in this mission (also the only place to obtain it) are black, with magenta upholstery. This seems to be a color scheme favored by The Lost. Strategy: These only appear during the chase sequence in the Stretch E, with Luis locked into tossing sticky bombs. To obtain one, as soon as the sequence begins, press buttons frantically, and Luis will "get out" of the car. He'll still be stuck in the sticky bomb targeting mode, but this will end once the mission fails for abandoning the car. Proceed to find a nearby Slamvan and jack it. Drive back to a parking spot at your leisure. Formulated by: Mrlampswitchable NOTE: A more reliable method of executing this trick is under development. Until then, your best hope is simply tenacity and patience. --------- 3.7 - Swift w/ side door open (2nd of 2) --------- Mission: ...Blog This! (Tony Prince) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A large white helicopter with stiffer controls than a Maverick, but much sturdier. This particular one has the side doors open, like a Maverick's. This version is obtainable any time after finishing the storyline, by replaying the mission "...Blog This!" Strategy: To keep this after the mission, don't bother taking off, but instead shoot Tony dead, then quickly afterwards, kill the Celebinator. Tony has much more health than the Celebinator, hence why you should go for him first. After this, get back in via the passenger door (to pull Tony's body out, this is important), and fly it to a parking spot. If Tony's body isn't removed, it won't store properly. Formulated by: Lancet Jades w/ adamcs revelation --------- 3.8 - Hexer --------- Mission: Not So Fast (Tony Prince) Difficulty: *** Required: Mission failure, and a Fire Truck Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: This is Johnny's trademark motorcycle from TLAD, a chopper- style silver bike with blue lines on the tank. Strategy: After landing the Buzzard near the Hexer (which is behind the museum on the north side), call 911 and request a Fire Truck. The problem here is after the mission fails (which will happen if the Hexer is pushed into the street), it automatically catches fire and soon explodes. Use the Fire Truck trick to push the Hexer to the Middle Park East parking spot, then quickly start a mission replay. If for some reason this is done before the end of the game, just drive away quickly so the Hexer doesn't explode before you leave the area. Formulated by: thekosmicfool and fiis NOTE: This vehicle may spawn on the streets when driving one, however it is not certain. I have never seen one. If you do see one and wish to inform me, please include WHERE you saw it, down to the street name itself. Even then, this won't appear on its own, only when driving one. --------- 3.9 - Skylift (2nd of 2) --------- Mission: For the Man Who Has Everything (Yusuf Amir) Difficulty: ***** Required: !!!CHEATS!!!, Sniper rifle Discovered by: XTREME0235 and takadox Description: A large, oddly-shaped blue helicopter designed for aerial transport of vehicles. This is the normal version, with just the helicopter itself. This helicopter is over twice the size of the Annihilator, making it the biggest helicopter in GTA history. Strategy: This is a rare step-by-step strategy listing, due to how long it is. As difficult as it all sounds, it's actually quite simple and easy. The problem is that screwing up means replaying the entire mission again, and there's NO way to shorten it. You must drive Yusuf's car to the marker, then follow the entire train sequence, then NOT skip the final cutscene on every single attempt. 1: Before attempting this, use the Annihilator cheat (359-555-0100). This is important as it needs to be in your cell phone's cheat list. For those who dislike cheating and only want one cheat on their record, do this in Luis' house. The cheat will be added but your official count will still be at zero. 2: During the final cutscene, Yusuf drops Luis off. Luis waves at Yusuf and then makes a comment. During this comment, open up your cellphone and quickly use the Annihilator cheat (should be on the bottom of your phone list, and at the top of the cheat list). As soon as this happens, exit out of the phone, run to the Annihilator, and get inside. You MUST do this as fast as possible; any delay will likely cause you to be too slow to catch up in time. 3: Hold down on the stick as the Annihilator takes off, to tilt the heli backwards. Keep going like this, turning when you get a chance to face the direction he took off in. 4: Yusuf and the Skylift should be in the distance. Chances are he's flashing, as though the game is deciding whether or not to delete the helicopter. If you cannot see the Skylift at this point, or if it vanishes for more than a second or two, retry, because it's already lost. 5: Once he stops flashing, you're safe, so long as he isn't out of sight for too long. He should be, by default, heading south along the water east of the highway along the east coast of Broker. To the south should be a section of raised highway (the east-west highway which leads to the Broker Bridge). Slowly and carefully fly and land your Annihilator here (keep it intact though!), making sure the Skylift doesn't leave your view (a moment should be okay, but if given a couple of seconds off-camera, it will vanish). 6: Once on the highway, land, and keep watching the Skylift. It will stop about halfway to the highway, then start moving slowly backwards. Don't worry, as it will soon stop again, and begin slowly moving forward. Once this happens, and it approaches the highway, run south to the southeastern corner of the raised highway (the part that runs north-south). 7: After reaching the corner, watch the Skylift, and prepare to snipe. When it begins hovering over the highway itself, aim at the cockpit and snipe Yusuf. There should be a small beige-colored ball inside; that is the target. One shot should to it. With any luck, it'll drop onto the highway, a short enough drop it won't explode, and with the highway walls (the edges and middle) so low, neither the blades nor tail should snap. 8: Once it is safely on the highway, run over to it and get inside. There should be no impediment to taking off immediately. Do whatever you want with it. 9: After doing all of this, saving it requires heading to Niko's Middle Park East parking spot. Park the Skylift so that the front wheel and right-rear wheel are within the yellow parking zone. This will allow you to keep the Skylift! Other positions won't store it properly, and other safehouses don't allow enough room to safely store it. Some other tips: -If the blades snap after Luis is in the Skylift, inputting the health cheat (362-555-0100) will fully repair the helicopter. -Turning around quicker (by doing a 180 as soon as you take off) will let the Skylift retain the subway car, however this is of little use as it vanishes when saved in a parking spot. The subway car is intangible anyways. -In my experience, using the Advanced MG to "break open" the cockpit and make Yusuf snipeable is not necessary. One shot at his head will kill him and cause the Skylift to descend. Although the MG may destroy the cockpit windshield, this is not necessary to hit him with a sniper rifle. -"Guiding" Yusuf to other places (such as the airport) is also not necessary, as the default AI for how he acts is sufficient to shoot him down and (hopefully) keep it. -TURN OFF AUTOSAVE! If autosave is on when the mission is completed, the autosave will cause Yusuf to vanish! It makes obtaining the Skylift quite impossible. Formulated by: takadox NOTE 1: This method apparently does not work on the PS3 version. The game has been patched to make the Skylift disappear soon after the mission ends, even if you spawn an Annihilator and catch up to it in time. NOTE 2: If you have too many cheats recorded in the phone, the Skylift may be impossible to acquire using this method, as it requires incredibly fast timing to work. Without the Annihilator cheat readily accessible on the list, it is simply impossible to spawn it in time to catch the Skylift before it vanishes. --------- 3.10 - Bati Custom --------- Mission: Departure Time (Tony Prince) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A red and white sport bike caked with advertisements on the side. Strategy: This motorcycle is provided after destroying all the heroin vans. You can easily get it by waiting until Timur appears, then rushing for the motorcycle. You'll fail the mission for letting Timur get away, so just take it to a parking spot and save. Formulated by: Lancet Jades NOTE: This vehicle can appear randomly on the streets, but ONLY if you are driving one yourself, or much less likely, if one was recently in the game's memory (such as after a mission featuring it). It is thus still unique, as unless you obtain it in or after a mission where it is used, you won't see one elsewhere. --------- 3.11 - Swift w/ side door closed (2nd of 2) --------- Mission: Bruce Spade (Club Management) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A large white helicopter with stiffer controls than a Maverick, but much sturdier. This particular one has the side doors closed, unlike the Maverick's (which are always open). Strategy: This is the helicopter used to pick up the target. It normally vanishes after dropping him off at the club, so you must park it in a parking spot, then shoot it until it catches fire. Drive away before it explodes and return to confirm it. Formulated by: Lancet Jades NOTE: This is the only obtainable Swift with the side doors closed! This makes it unique, compared to the normal ones with them open. --------- 3.12 - Schafter (redesign) --------- Mission: Many story missions; all Club Management missions Difficulty: What's the sound of one hand clapping? Required: Feels like I'm requiring nothing at all! Nothing at all! Discovered by: lol Description: This is the Schafter's redesign. It looks a bit better, and a bit bigger, too. Wheels look drastically different. A black version (which is not unique in and of itself) is Tony's trademark car. Strategy: In many of the missions where you use this car, you keep it afterwards, so just take it to a parking spot. Some that give it to you like this are I Luv L.C., Chinese Takeout, and Practice Swing. All Club Management missions have it appear, and it may be taken to a parking spot before finishing the mission. Really, if you have trouble getting this car, you have problems. BIG problems. NOTE: This is only included because technically (VERY technically) it's a unique car according to the parameters I set at the start of the guide. Enjoy your damn car, punks. ======================================================== *4* SPECIALLY COLORED/FEATURED VEHICLES ======================================================== These vehicles all have some special color of feature that the vehicle usually does not have. For possible luster colors of lustered vehicles, consult the luster table in the terms section. Normally these are also unavailable at the end of the game (as was in ancient times), but with the mission replay feature, may be acquired at anytime. Mission failures on replays don't count towards the "Missions Failed" stat, either, if you're someone who cares. NOTE: The above ONLY applies to story missions. Side missions (random encounters and club management) are once-off, and very missable! --------- 4.1 - Bright Red Buffalo (1st of 3) --------- Mission: Kibbutz Number One (Mori Kibbutz) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A Buffalo that is brighter red than the normal red for the car. Strategy: This vehicle is driven to the docks. To keep it, park it and then shoot Mori dead. The mission will fail and it'll be waiting in the parking spot. Alternatively, bash around or shoot the car until the mission fails for destroying it. Mori will get out, and the car will hopefully work after trying to call someone. Do this in a parking spot in case it catches fire, then leave and return to claim the car. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.2 - Pink Feltzer --------- Mission: Blog This! (Tony Prince) Difficulty: *** Required: A helicopter, and a pushing vehicle Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A bright pink Feltzer, like the one in GTAIV. This one, however, can have the roof up, or be a convertible. Which one you find is random, so replay until the desired variety appears. Strategy: This is parked in Gracie's driveway during the mission. The only way to keep it is to push it to a parking spot (preferably the Lost Clubhouse spot, as it is closest). Unfortunately, its UJ and in her driveway, to the point it can't be pushed out. Fortunately, the solution is much easier than previous versions said. Drive to Gracie's house and drop off Tony and Gracie, THEN go to the heliport over the Booth Tunnel and fly the heli back to the house. The pink Feltzer should still be there (although Tony and Gracie will have vanished). Carefully hit it with the helicopter's blades to "throw" it out of the driveway, then call 911 and request a Fire Truck. Jack the Fire Truck, and push it to the nearby Lost Clubhouse's parking spot. Afterwards, go finish the mission, then return to confirm the car. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.3 - Bright Blue Buffalo --------- Mission: Bang Bang (Tony Prince) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing (or mission failure) Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A Buffalo with a slightly different blue color than normal. Strategy: This car is provided for Luis at the start of the mission. Just drive it to a parking spot right away, complete the mission, then return to confirm it. Alternatively, just get to the train, and fail the mission. Either way is just as easy. Formulated by: Claude4Catalina --------- 4.4 - Black "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill (1st of 2) --------- Mission: Clocking Off (Armando Torres) Difficulty: ***** or * Required: Nothing or mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: This is a normal looking Mafia PMP 600 (gloss black coloring, and a small spoiler on the rear), except that it has a hybrid grill. The description of the hybrid grill can be found in the list of terms in an earlier section. Strategy 1: Several of these are sitting near the docks, on the upper-most level. Getting one is more difficult, however. Before finishing the battle, drive one out into the street and onto the bridge into Algonquin (right side!). Once the transportation part of the mission comes up, push the car with your Cavalcade towards the mission end marker! The mission fails if you go too far from Armando's vehicle, so speedy pushing is a necessity. Formulated by: Lancet Jades Strategy 2: Just fail the mission and park this at the Bohan parking spot. There's no cutscene if you fail for leaving the scene of the mission. NOTE: The first strategy is purely theory. Don't blame me if you attempt it and the car vanishes after the final cutscene. --------- 4.5 - Solid Black Sanchez --------- Mission: Clocking Off (Armando Torres) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing (mission failure if not using replay) Discovered by: Claude4Catalina Description: This is a black Sanchez. What makes it unique is even the fuel tank is black. Usually it is silver, no matter the color Strategy: Play the mission up until the rival gang attacks. After dispatching as many as is needed to be safe, check the uppermost tier of the battle. This bike is sitting between two stacks of large metal shipping crates. One stack has a red one on bottom and a white one on tip, the other stack are both blue. Drive away to a parking spot, failing the mission for going too far from the battle zone. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.6 - Black "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill (2nd of 2) --------- Mission: Not So Fast (Tony Prince) Difficulty: ** Required: Mission failure and a pushing vehicle Discovered by: Lancet Jades (via Swift) Description: This is a normal looking Mafia PMP 600 (gloss black coloring, and a small spoiler on the rear), except that it has a hybrid grill. The description of the hybrid grill can be found in the list of terms in an earlier section. Strategy: Once again, these are outside the museum in the diamond mission. Except this time, they are all UJ. To keep it requires failing the mission. Push it to a parking spot, then get far enough away from the Buzzard that the mission fails, then simply save the game. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.7 - White "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill --------- Mission: Not So Fast (Tony Prince) Difficulty: ** Required: Mission failure and a pushing vehicle Discovered by: Lancet Jades (via Swift) Description: This is the same as the Black "Mafia" PMP 600 with hybrid grill, except that it is gloss white instead of black. This makes it an all-around better prize. Strategy: Once again, these are outside the museum in the diamond mission. Except this time, they are all UJ. To keep it requires failing the mission. Push it to a parking spot, then get far enough away from the Buzzard that the mission fails, then simply save the game. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.8 - Bright Red Buffalo (2nd of 3) --------- Mission: This Ain't Checkers (Mori Kibbutz) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A Buffalo that is brighter red than the normal red for the car. Strategy: Again, this is the vehicle used by Luis and Mori. Once the mission starts, just shoot Mori dead, then drive this to a parking spot at your leisure. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.9 - Dark Red Buffalo --------- Mission: This Ain't Checkers (Mori Kibbutz) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: timAJH Description: A Buffalo that is a darker red than usual. Resembles the dark red F620 used in Triathlons. Strategy: This is one of the vehicles used in the Triathlon's land portion. Choose this after disembarking the boat, and finish the mission. Then just drive it to a parking spot. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.10 - Bright Red Buffalo (3rd of 3) --------- Mission: No. 3 (Mori Kibbutz) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A Buffalo that is brighter red than the normal red for the car. Strategy: Luis, Mori, and Brucie drive this to the car pickup. To keep it, get out at the start and shoot Brucie dead, then get back in. Luis will still be driving it after the mission failure cutscene. Proceed to a parking spot. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.11 - White Bullet GT w/ red racing stripes --------- Mission: No. 3 (Mori Kibbutz) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A white Bullet GT with red racing stripes along the side. Strategy: This is the vehicle used by Luis during the main part of the mission, and is easy to keep. Start the racing portion of the mission, then drive it to a parking spot. You'll fail for not keeping up with Mori, and can park the car in a parking spot. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.12 - Bright Blue F620 --------- Mission: No. 3 (Mori Kibbutz) Difficulty: ** Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: An F620 with a more vibrant blue paintjob than the normal blues in the palette. Strategy: This is quite simple. Proceed with the mission until you reach the part where you earn a wanted level (once in the proper cars). Follow Mori and Brucie until you reach the area in front of the Angels of Death clubhouse. For those who have not played TLAD, this is where you turn off of the road into a dirt alley of sorts, with a highway above you. Once here, just park, not following them. Eventually the mission will fail for abandoning Mori. The wanted level will also vanish. After this happens, both Brucie and Mori will eventually be found driving back towards you! Just park in front of the blue F620, point a gun a Brucie, and he'll get out. Then, push the car to Luis' apartment at your leisure, using your superior white and red Bullet GT. Formulated by: minczgamers --------- 4.13 - Solid Black Maverick (1st of 2) --------- Mission: Ladies' Night (Tony Prince) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: This Maverick is solid black, without the white bottom Mavericks usually have. Strategy: This is the chopper used in the mission. It sits on the helipad after finishing the mission, so just fly it to a parking spot. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.14 - Bright Red Comet --------- Mission: Ladies' Night (Tony Prince) Difficulty: *** Required: Mission failure and a pushing vehicle Discovered by: Floris Ferwerda Description: A red Comet that is brighter than the normal red for this vehicle. Strategy: Packie drives this during the mission. To obtain it, wait for him to get out at the end of the chase, then land and shoot Tony to fail. Get another vehicle (to push the Comet with, since it's UJ), and push it to Niko's Alderney parking spot. Formulated by: Floris Ferwerda --------- 4.15 - Bright Red Oracle --------- Mission: Going Deep (Ray Bulgarin) Difficulty: ** Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A bright red-colored Oracle. Strategy: This is the vehicle you and Bulgarin hide behind while observing the NOOSE team in the underground car park. When leaving the car park, take this car and use it to escape the NOOSE, then after finishing the mission, park it somewhere. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.16 - Solid Black Maverick (2nd of 2) --------- Mission: Dropping In (Ray Bulgarin) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: This Maverick is solid black, without the white bottom Mavericks usually have. Strategy: This is the chopper used in the mission. Keeping it is easy; just get in and fly off before Timur can get in. The mission will fail for abandoning Timur, and you'll be flying the chopper. Park it and save. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.17 - Gold Manana w/ maroon roof --------- Mission: Arnaud random encounter #2 Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A Manana with a gold-colored body and a maroon roof. Strategy: This is driven by the pimp. Shoot him dead in the car, collect the money, then get in this car and proceed to finish the mission. Park it afterwards. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.18 - Bright Red F620 --------- Mission: Daisy random encounter Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A bright red F620, different from the normal reds in its palette. Strategy: This car is parked across the street at the start of the mission. It is kept even after finishing the random encounter, so just go through and complete the mission, parking it afterwards. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.19 - Silver Habanero (1st of 2) --------- Mission: Clay PG Jackson (Club Management) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A bright silver Habanero. Different from the usual white, silver, and gray colors for this vehicle. Strategy: One of these is parked across the street from Hercules. Get in and drive to a parking spot, as completing the mission normally won't allow obtaining it, and pushing it there will result in failure for taking too long. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.20 - Silver PCJ 600 (1st of 2) --------- Mission: Clay PG Jackson (Club Management) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A bright silver PCJ 600. Different from the usual white, silver, and gray colors for this vehicle. Strategy: Two of these are parked around the entrance to Hercules. Get in and drive to a parking spot, as completing the mission normally won't allow obtaining it, and pushing it there will result in failure for taking too long. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.21 - Silver Habanero (2nd of 2) --------- Mission: Poppy Mitchell (Club Management) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A bright silver Habanero. Different from the usual white, silver, and gray colors for this vehicle. Strategy: One of these is parked across near the entrance to Maisonette 9. Obtaining this AND the silver PCJ 600 is easy; drive them to a parking spot at your leisure. A good strategy is to park one somewhere en route to get the Fire Truck, and drop Poppy off at her destination in the other, then take it to a parking spot afterwards. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 4.22 - Silver PCJ 600 (2nd of 2) --------- Mission: Poppy Mitchell (Club Management) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A bright silver PCJ 600. Different from the usual white, silver, and gray colors for this vehicle. Strategy: Two of these are parked around the entrance to Maisonette 9. Obtaining this AND the silver Habanero is easy; drive them to a parking spot at your leisure. A good strategy is to park one somewhere en route to get the Fire Truck, and drop Poppy off at her destination in the other, then take it to a parking spot afterwards. Formulated by: Lancet Jades ======================================================== *5* LUSTERED VEHICLES ======================================================== Lustered vehicles are vehicles with a "luster" to them. A luster is a secondary color that can only be seen well in certain light (try direct sunlight from 12 PM to 4 PM). The vehicles with lusters are predominantly black. There are six known luster colors at this time: red, blue, green, yellow, purple, and orange. Of these, orange, purple, and red are the most visible, although luster visibility depends on time of day, base car color (usually black), and the vehicle itself (the luster on Cavalcade FXT is easier to see than on the PMP 600, for example). It is not known yet whether all vehicles that can be lustered can have all known colors. Orange is especially unknown, as it often looks like either red or yellow, depending on the vehicle. Some lustered vehicles seem to also be found in traffic, including vehicles that cannot be found lustered in missions. So far, the only colors seen in traffic are green and purple, but blue and possibly red may also be. Despite this, I have yet to physically match up a luster vehicle found in traffic directly aside one from a mission, so there may be differences anyways I can't see at the moment. All in all, it seems like even if some lustered vehicles are found in traffic, the selection is very small, and few if any may actually be the same as ones from missions. These can be obtained even at the end of the game via mission replay, but ONLY for main story missions. Random encounters and club management missions are still once-off! --------- 5.1 - Lustered Black Cavalcade FXT --------- Mission: Practice Swing (Tony Prince) Difficulty: ***** Required: Mission failure, sticky bombs, and a pushing vehicle Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: These are black Cavalcade FXTs with a luster. Strategy: Three of these sit in the golfing area after the golfing segment is finished. Unfortunately, they are UJ. To obtain one, play through the mission until you kill the three Cavalcade FXTs of goons. Once this is done, set a sticky bomb on both Caddys. Blow up the two Cavalcades that you don't want (leaving the lustered one). Start the chase, and once they have been lured outside of the golf course area (near the parking lot), quickly exit your Caddy and move away, then detonate the bombs. The Cavalcades will stop giving chase, and drive away slowly. If this happens near the parking lot south of the golf course, this is good. It will endlessly circle inside! Call Henrique for an APC, or phone for a Fire Truck. Stand in front of the truck, and the three passengers will get out. Now the driver. If shot dead, he will prevent the vehicle from saving properly on a parking spot. The only alternative is to get him out before, which involves one of two strategies. ade2 suggests holding him up (pointing a gun at him), but this didn't work. I pushed the Cavalcade onto its side (or back) with the APC (or Fire Truck). The driver will get out and wander off. Now, begin slowly pushing the Cavalcade FXT towards Luis' parking spot, which is the closest one. It is a very long push, but shouldn't be too difficult with the APC or Fire Truck. The advantage to a Fire Truck is if the target accumulates too much damage, the water stream can put out the fire. The downside to a Fire Truck is getting one can easily cause a wanted level, as can using the water cannon. Formulated by: Lancet Jades and ade2 NOTE: For some reason, the pursuers don't use the first Cavalcade to appear (the southern-most one, which is closest to Rocco's Caddy). Hope the luster you want doesn't appear on this one. This occurs even if the other two are destroyed before the chase. --------- 5.2 - Lustered Black Landstalker --------- Mission: Going Deep (Ray Bulgarin) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: This is a black Landstalker with a luster. Strategy: This vehicle is the one driven at the start. Keeping it is a simple matter of driving to the destination, letting Bulgarin and Timur get out, then driving off until the mission fails for abandoning them. Park the car and save the game. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 5.3 - Lustered Black Oracle --------- Mission: In the Crosshairs (Ray Bulgarin) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A normal black Oracle with a luster. Strategy: This car is provided for you after the opening cutscene, parked nearby. Take it to a parking spot, then finish the mission. Return afterwards to confirm it! Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 5.4 - Lustered Silver PMP 600 --------- Mission: Margot random encounter #1 Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A normal silver PMP 600 with a luster. Not the mafia version or the hybrid grill variety. Strategy: This car is parked across the street from where the random encounter begins, obviously provided as transport in the mission. Finish the mission and drive it to a parking spot. Doesn't get easier than that. --------- 5.5 - Lustered Black PMP 600 --------- Mission: Clay PG Jackson (Club Management) Difficulty: * Required: Mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A normal black PMP 600 with a luster. Not the mafia version or the hybrid grill variety. Strategy: This is the car Clay is in at the start of the mission. Normally, it would be driven throughout the chase and vanish at the end, so the only way to keep it is to fail the mission. The easiest way is to attack and injure one of the paparazzi members AFTER getting inside. If this is done before entering the car, it becomes UJ, and that much harder to park. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 5.6 - Lustered Red Peyote w/ black roof --------- Mission: Cloe Parker (Club Management) Difficulty: * Required: Nothing Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A pinkish-red Peyote with a black roof. The luster applies to both the body and roof, however it is only really noticeable on the roof. Strategy: This is Cloe's car, parked beside the club after meeting her in the bathroom. Just drive her home to finish the mission, and the car will be sitting in the driveway right behind Luis after it ends. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- 5.7 - Lustered Black Stretch --------- Mission: Bruce Spade (Club Management) Difficulty: *** or * Required: Nothing or mission failure Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A normal black Stretch with a luster. Strategy 1: Two of these are parked near the club, blocking the street to create a makeshift landing pad for the helicopter. Both these AND the helicopter vanish after delivering the celebrity, so you must double-drive the helicopter and Stretch to a parking spot before finishing! Formulated by: Lancet Jades Strategy 2: Same as Strategy 1 except just fail the mission to keep the stretch, instead of bothering double-driving. Formulated by: Lancet Jades --------- LUSTER TABLE --------- This is a list of all known lusters of all known lustered vehicles. It is very possibly that many, if not all of these vehicles are available in more colors. These are simply all that have been observed, and on cars that are not black, some lusters may be difficult or almost impossible to see. Cavalcade FXT - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow Comet - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow Landstalker - Red, Blue, Green Oracle - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow Peyote - Yellow PMP 600 - Blue, Green, Yellow Stretch - Blue, Green, Yellow ======================================================== *6* UNOBTAINABLE SPECIAL VEHICLES ======================================================== These vehicles are unobtainable for whatever reason is listed. This can include any vehicle type from the previous three sections, but as they cannot be acquired permanently, there is no need to put them in those sections. --------- 6.1 - Black Lycan with Flames (1st of 3) --------- Mission: Sexy Time (Yusuf Amir) Discovered by: Coen91 Description: A black Lycan motorcycle with flame decals on the side. The paintjob is exactly like that of a Daemon, although the motorcycle itself is clearly a Lycan. Unobtainable: This appears in the opening cutscene of the mission, in Yusuf's condo. Neither the Lycan nor Daemon motorcycles are actually in TBoGT however, and are only found in TLAD. This is purely in a cutscene, with no way to access it in any way, shape, or form in-game. --------- 6.2 - BP/FP/EP Serrano --------- Mission: Corner Kids (Armando Torres) Discovered by: aftica Description: The Serrano, a new vehicle in TBoGT, in an exciting BP/FP/EP variety! Also UJ, so no taking it right away. Unobtainable: This sits at the battle site in East Hook from the start of the mission, but is UJ and BP/FP/EP until you start the battle. Unfortunately, even if pushed to a parking spot, failing the mission in any way will remove the proofings. --------- 6.3 - BP/FP/EP Beater Vigero --------- Mission: Corner Kids (Armando Torres) Discovered by: aftica / Lancet Jades Description: Dilapadated and broken, this Vigero is still somehow BP/FP/EP. Plot armor, indeed. Unobtainable: Several of these (four, to be exact) sit around the battle site, silently standing watch over the similarly-proofed Serrano. As with the Serrano, these are proofed for all but damage, and are UJ. They will also lose the proofings when the mission is failed, or the battle is started. --------- 6.4 - UJ Black Reefer --------- Mission: Clocking Off (Armando Torres) Discovered by: ps3_owner22 Description: A medium-sized boat. It is usually only found in white, making this black one quite unique. Unobtainable: This boat is UJ, so Luis can't sail it. Although theoretically, a boat can be kept in a parking spot (if beached and pushed there), the fact this is UJ means getting it out of the water will be impossible, let alone into the Bohan parking spot without destroying it. --------- 6.5 - Black Lycan with Flames (2nd of 3) --------- Mission: High Dive (Yusuf Amir) Discovered by: Coen91 Description: A black Lycan motorcycle with flame decals on the side. --------- 6.6 - Black Lycan with Flames (3rd of 3) --------- Mission: Caught With Your Pants Down (Yusuf Amir) Discovered by: Coen91 Description: A black Lycan motorcycle with flame decals on the side. --------- 6.7 - Solid Black Maverick --------- Mission: In the Crosshairs (Ray Bulgarin) Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: This Maverick is solid black, without the white bottom Mavericks usually have. Unobtainable: This helicopter attacks you after the duel with the four snipers. It is unobtainable as it never lands, so all that can be done is to snipe the pilot, causing it to crash. If it crashes on the rooftops, the blades and/or tail will snap, rendering it impossible to keep (no way to push it off the roof), and if it falls over the street, it will explode on impact. --------- 6.8 - Skylift w/ subway car --------- Mission: For the Man Who Has Everything (Yusuf Amir) Discovered by: XTREME0235 and takadox Description: A large, oddly-shaped blue helicopter designed for aerial transport of vehicles. This is the version with the subway car attached, as occurs in the mission in which its found. This helicopter is over twice the size of the Annihilator, making it the biggest helicopter in GTA history. Unobtainable: If the Skylift w/ the subway car is saved in a parking spot, it loses the subway car when reloaded. --------- 6.9 - Dark Green Vincent --------- Mission: Ladies Half Price (Tony Prince) Discovered by: Lancet Jades Description: A dark green Vincent. The green color is not in the vehicle's usual palette. May possibly be lustered, like the one in Niko's storyline (for what little it matters). Unobtainable: This car sits at the site of the exchange, as it did in Niko's story. Unfortunately, it is UJ, and although it can be pushed, going too far from the boat fails the mission, triggering a cutscene regardless of HOW it was failed. Pushing the car anywhere and returning to the boat to move it closer results in the car vanishing. Thus, it's impossible to keep, as it cannot be pushed to any parking spots. ======================================================== *7* RARE VEHICLES ======================================================== These vehicles aren't anything inherently special, but are nonetheless unique for various reasons, often requiring completion of a mission or side mission to unlock. These can all be obtained at the end of the game without any problem. --------- 7.1 - Black Cavalcade w/ dark rims --------- Unlocked (1): When Armando's Gun Van service is available. Found (1): Armando drives this when delivering gun after you call him for the Gun Van service. To keep this, one must push it back to a parking spot, as it is UJ. Attack and kill (run over, to avoid attention) Armando before approaching him to buy guns, and it can be leisurely pushed back with no penalty to his friendship level. Unlocked (2): When Drug Wars are available. Found (2): Each Drug War starts with Luis and Co. inside the black-rimmed Cavalcade. Drive it to a parking spot, find a new car (preferably four door, so neither of your allies jacks a car from your parking spot to follow in), and finish the battle. Confirm afterwards. Description: A black Cavalcade with black rims on the wheels, unlike the usual silver or gold. Missions this car may also be found in: Corner Kids, Clocking Off, used on each Drug War mission --------- 7.2 - Police Maverick --------- Unlocked (1): Not unlocked, just very difficult to obtain. Found (1): Shows up as chopper support at 3-4 stars (5-6 has Annihilators appear). Getting it can be difficult. Strategy (1): Climb onto the rooftop of the Libertonian Museum via the scaffolding round the back of the building. Once on the top, shoot at the police and get a wanted level. When the chopper comes, position yourself near the edge of the roof so the chopper hovers low over rooftop. When it is low enough, snipe the pilot and if done right it will crash, spin a little but remain there. Kill the NOOSE and take the chopper! Much easier than forcing it to crash, and does much less damage with a higher rate of success. Formulated by: Pepe Strategy 2: Sniping the pilot of the helicopter causes it to fall to the ground. This will often result in the chopper being available to jack without much trouble, as it often won't knock the tail or blades off. Formulated by: spnosrs Description: A police version of the normal Maverick. White and blue paintjob, and no radio. NOTE: As listed, this appears in Not So Fast. This is actually a good way to obtain this! It lands on the roof, and if you kill the nearby cops, you're free to fly off with it. Only problem is it requires failing the mission, but that's not a big deal if done via mission replays. Missions this vehicle may also be found in: Not So Fast, For The Man Who Has Everything --------- 7.3 - Tuner Serrano --------- Unlocked: When Henrique's car delivery service is available. Found: Call Henrique and order a Serrano. He will deliver this vehicle to you. Description: This unique Serrano has a different grill and different wheels when compared to the normal version. It never spawns normally, so Henrique is the only way to get one. Once driving one, though, more will spawn on the streets. --------- 7.4 - Smuggler --------- Unlocked: When races are unlocked. Found: Appears as a boat in races. Start the race, take the Smuggler, then destroy another boat to end the race, or just lose altogether. Description: A speedboat similar to the Jetmax, but much longer. Has very good speed, acceleration, and turning, making it an excellent boat, although a bit on the large side. This one apparently doesn't appear randomly, unlike the Floater and Blade. Missions this vehicle may also be found in: Sexy Time, This Ain't Checkers --------- 7.5 - Buzzard --------- Unlocked: Finish all story missions. Found: Yusuf Amir's helipad on the west river in Westminster. Description: A golden yellow-colored attack helicopter, resembling the Sparrow of past GTA fame. Armed with rocket launchers and a Vulcan cannon. Lacks the Annihilator's explosive bullets, however. NOTE: The Buzzard cannot be stored in a parking spot. If left in one, it will simply disappear next time you return, or load your game. This was probably done to prevent obtaining one earlier than intended. This means that only the gold Buzzard is readily available post-game, since the black Buzzard (in Sexy Time) cannot be saved. Missions this vehicle may also be found in: Sexy Time, Not So Fast --------- 7.6 - Super Drop Diamond --------- Unlocked: After "For the Man Who Has Everything" (Yusif Amir). Found: In front of Yusuf's apartment in Middle Park East. Description: A golden yellow-colored car, available in either convertible or roof style. Yusuf's personal car. Missions this vehicle may also be found in: High Dive, Caught With Your Pants Down --------- 7.7 - APC --------- Unlocked (1): After "For the Man Who Has Everything" AND all 50 seagulls shot. Found (1): In the eastern side of Yusuf's construction site. Unlocked (2): After "TBoGT Complete" (End of the game). Found (2): Call Henrique for his Vehicle Delivery service and request an APC. Description: An armored personnel carrier (APC) with a cannon. Unlike previous GTA tanks, this one does not instantly blow up vehicles, but one or two shots will seriously wreck the frame of any vehicle it hits. Unfortunately, this one seems to lack the vitality of other tanks, and does not appear to be EP. NOTE: The APC cannot be stored in a parking spot. If left in one, it will simply disappear next time you return, or load your game. This was probably done to prevent obtaining one earlier than intended. Missions this car may also be found in: Caught With Your Pants Down, Frosting on the Cake --------- 7.8 - Green Bullet GT w/ black stripe --------- Unlocked: When Triathlons are available. Found: This is one of four available cars. Drive it to a parking spot after finishing the Triathlon. Description: A green Bullet GT. It also has a black stripe along the side, making it more unique. I never could find a normal green Bullet GT on the street or in the PnS, so this probably is. Missions this car may also be found in: This Ain't Checkers --------- 7.9 - Bright Yellow Comet --------- Unlocked: When Triathlons are available. Found: This is one of four available cars. Drive it to a parking spot after finishing the Triathlon. Description: A bright yellow-colored Comet. Seems very similar to the one obtained in No. 1 in GTAIV, however I lack the ability to make a side-by- side comparison. --------- 7.10 - Dark Red F620 --------- Unlocked: When Triathlons are available. Found: This is one of four available cars. Drive it to a parking spot after finishing the Triathlon. Description: A dark red F620. The red seems somewhat purple-red, as opposed to a true darker red. Not quite crimson, maroon, or other such colors. --------- 7.11 - Lustered Silver Comet --------- Unlocked: When Triathlons are available. Found: This is one of four available cars. Drive it to a parking spot after finishing the Triathlon. Description: A silver Comet with a random luster. Missions this car may also be found in: This Ain't Checkers --------- 7.12 - Pink Flatbed --------- Unlocked: When base jumping is available. Found: On some jumps, you are asked to land on a flatbed truck. Do the jump, land on the truck, and the driver should get out. Get in and take it to a parking spot. Description: A Flatbed who's color is somewhere between red and pink. This is actually a unique color for this vehicle. --------- 7.13 - White and Orange Sanchez --------- Unlocked: When base jumping is available. Found: On two jumps, you're asked to jump off the building using a Sanchez. Instead of completing the jump, just fall to the ground on the Sanchez, fail the jump, and drive it to a parking spot. Description: This is a uniquely colored white and orange Sanchez. It looks very nice. --------- 7.14 - Annihilator --------- Unlocked: Use the Annihilator spawn cheat (call 359-555-0100). Found: Right next to you after using the cheat. This, of course, counts as a cheat and increments your "Times cheated" stat by 1. Strategy 1: Courtesy of EKGene, a way to obtain an Annihilator at any time! This requires a lot of luck, and can be irritating, though it is not terribly difficult if luck is on your side, and impossible if it is not. First of all, head to a helipad with a Maverick (atop the Booth Tunnel is recommended). Once there, start building up a wanted level. Five stars is the goal, and try to do it in relative safety, away from the north side of Alderney (north of the highway). Once you have five stars, fly the helicopter to the parking garage in the north of Alderney (it is slightly northwest of the police station. After reaching the garage, land on the roof and prepare for the moment. First, take out any Police Mavericks bothering you by either sniping the pilot, rocket launcher, or killing the gunmen on each side. Now is the moment of truth. Run around the garage's roof, trying to lure one of the two Annihilators that will pursue close to the ground. This may require making a circuit around both levels of the roof to get the Annihilators into the proper formation. Keep in mind you are also on a timer, since cops on the ground will be ascending the garage to get to you. Although they can be fought off, letting them gather will deplete your armor and health quickly. Once an Annihilator is close enough, and the pilot is in view, take out a sniper rifle and snipe him. The heli will spin down to the ground. If it was too high, it will explode in impact. If that happens, try again with future Annihilators. If it doesn't explode, it will continue to spin on the ground. Normally this makes obtaining it impossible, as you cannot get close enough to the door before it swipes you with the tail, but this time it is different. Eventually, the tail will catch on the wall of the roof. If you're lucky (and it does happen fairly often), this will bring it to a stop without breaking the tail or rotors. Be prepared! The two SWAT guys in the back will get out and begin shooting. Kill them, and get in. Congratulations on obtaining the Annihilator! To keep it, fly to your safehouse and land on the nearby street. Rush inside the building and save to remove your wanted level. Be careful when leaving the Annihilator: it may fly up for a few seconds! If this happens, you will fall and take a little damage, and it will come back down and probably lose the blades or tail. No problem, because you should call a Firetruck and push it into the parking spot after saving. Just remember to re-save afterwards, or else it'll vanish. Once it is repaired, it should last long enough to take off without snapping the blades again. If it's positioned such that it is impossible, just call another Firetruck and reposition it until it works. As long as a save file has it in the spot, you can get it flying eventually. Here is the video of the GTAIV version of this trick. The important part is once he is on the parking garage roof, which is what matters in TLAD and TBoGT as well. The driving there part can be ignored. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHHumUqbfWg Formulated by: EKGene Strategy 2: After finishing the game, replay the mission "Caught With Your Pants Down." Once in the Swift with Yusuf, fly to the police station helipad in Lower Easton, Algonquin. An Annihilator should be parked there. Land the Swift, get in the Annihilator, and quickly fly to the Helitours station. Land and stop the helicopter moving ASAP. The mission will fail, and it will plop you down at the Helitours location. The Annihilator should be waiting nearby if everything went smoothly. Fly it to a parking spot. Description: A large black attack helicopter, equipped with an automatic gun which, unfortunately, lacks any automatic aim. The TLAD version of this helicopter, however, features explosive bullets that make it a hundredfold more effective than the GTAIV version. Missions this vehicle may also be found in: Corner Kids, High Dive, For the Man Who Has Everything NOTE: To store the Annihilator, I recommend the parking space outside Brian's apartment in Tudor. No other parking space gives this enough space to properly land. The best bet is to snap the blades, then get a truck (call a Firetrick if you need one) and push it onto the space. When you come back to the area, it will be repaired, and should still be far enough away from the building to take off without snapping the blades again. Doing it without snapping the blades is difficult since if you move an inch too close, the building will repel it and force you to reposition the heli to try again. --------- 7.15 - Akuma --------- Unlocked: Use the Akuma spawn cheat (call 625-555-0200). Found: Right next to you after using the cheat. This, of course, counts as a cheat and increments your "Times cheated" stat by 1. Description: A sports bike, resembling the Double T's frame. NOTE: This vehicle does not seem to appear anywhere in the game normally, thus the cheat is required. After spawning one, however, more will appear on the streets. It may be theoretically possible for it to spawn randomly, however I have yet to hear of it happening. --------- 7.16 - Black Buzzard --------- Unlocked: Use the Buzzard spawn cheat (call 359-555-2899). Found: Right next to you after using the cheat. This, of course, counts as a cheat and increments your "Times cheated" stat by 1. Description: A black attack helicopter, resembling the Sparrow of past GTA fame. Armed with rocket launchers and a Vulcan cannon. Lacks the Annihilator's explosive bullets, however. Missions this vehicle may also be found in: Sexy Time NOTE: The only Buzzard available in normal gameplay with the previous entry is the golden yellow color Yusuf painted it. The black version is more unique. Buzzards cannot be kept in parking spots, as they always vanish (even Yusuf's golden Buzzard he gives as a reward for finishing the storyline). At the least, anytime you may want a black Buzzard without cheats, replay Sexy Time and fail (in a way that keeps the chopper, such as driving a distance away - it fails while still in eyesight). ======================================================== *8* MULTIPLAYER-ONLY VEHICLES ======================================================== These vehicles appear only in TBoGT's multiplayer modes. All locations are police stations in the indicated region. --------- 8.1 - Police Bike --------- Description: A motorcycle very similar to the HPV police bike in San Andreas, except it is white and blue, like the normal LCPD cars. Locations: Northern Alderney, Western Dukes, Southern Broker --------- 8.2 - Police Cruiser --------- Description: A Buffalo with the colors and features of the Police Cruiser (the normal, ubiquitous police car). Apparently handles a bit worse than a normal Buffalo. Locations: Northern Alderney, East Algonquin, South Algonquin, East Bohan --------- 8.3 - Police Stinger --------- Description: A blue Presidente with a red/purple luster, modified front grill, stars and stripes lightly printed on the side, and a twin exhaust at the rear which spits flames from time to time. Locations: North Alderney, Western Dukes, Southern Broker --------- 8.4 - Brickade --------- Description: Apparently a very large and long RV-style van with what seems to be makeshift armor covering it. The textures appear rather primitive compared to most in the game. Locations: Supposedly was meant to only spawn in multiplayer, however it was dummied out entirely. The code still exists in the game, and is possibly accessible via modding. ======================================================== *9* DRUG WARS VEHICLES ======================================================== Various vehicles in drug wars are special colors. These are randomized every time a particular mission is attempted, so they can all be obtained at any time, but may take a while for a particular one to appear. Note that finishing a drug war in a particular vehicle will usually delete it! Get out of the car first, THEN enter the mission end marker. There are two major issues: the vehicle type, and the color. Both draw from what seems like a universal pool. For color possibilities, the first listed color is the main color, with the second being used for extra features, such as the Banshee's stripe down the middle and the Primo's bottom half. Some cars (such as the Buffalo and Comet) only use the first color. Some vehicle/color combinations are NOT unique, such as the white F620. The vast majority are special, though. Some combinations may also be impossible, but with so many possibilities, it's difficult to know which aren't. Vehicle possibilities: -Banshee -Blade -Blista Compact -Buffalo -Bullet GT -Comet -Dinghy -F620 -Huntley Sport -Maverick -Presidente -Primo -Sabre GT -Sentinel -Sultan -Sultan RS -Super Diamond -Tampa -Uranus (Tuner) -Voodoo The following are the color possibilities for the drug war vehicles: Primary: Blue w/ red luster. Secondary: Black w/ red luster stripe. Notes: Colors switched on the Huntley Sport. Banshee has a striped and stripeless version. Stripeless is extremely rare. Primary: Black w/ white luster. Secondary: Green stripe. Notes: Tertiary color is a gold roof used only by Sultan RS, Huntley Sport, and Dinghy. Colors switched on the Maverick. Primary: White. Secondary: Light gray stripe. Notes: Colors switched on Huntley Sport. Entire roof is white, not just a stripe. Primary: Black w/ green luster. Secondary: Dark gray stripe. Notes: None. Primary: Very dark red. Secondary: Greenish-yellow (looks gold under some lighting). Notes: Colors may be switched on vehicles. Vehicle-specific notes: -Very dark green body, no secondary color (Sultan RS only) -Very dark purple body, no secondary color (Sultan RS only) -Black w/ red luster body, green hood and roof (Huntley Sport only) -Light gray body, sometimes w/ gray stripe (Tampa only) -Secondary color used on rims (Sentinel only) ======================================================== *10* VEHICLES NOT PRESENT IN TBoGT ======================================================== These are vehicles that exist within the game's code, but do not appear in any way in TBoGT. While vehicle discrepancies between GTA titles is hardly a unique occurrence, since TBoGT is more of an expansion pack then its own game, vehicles not appearing in it I feel are worthy of note. All vehicles from both GTAIV and TLAD that are not listed DO appear in TBoGT. Motorcycles - Choppers: -Angel -Daemon -Diabolus -Innovation -Lycan -Nightblade -Revenant -Wayfarer -Wolfsbane Motorcycles - Sport: -Bati 800 -Double T Custom -Hakuchou Custom Other vehicles: -Gang Burrito -Laundromat -Police Stockade -Prison Bus -Regina -Rhapsody -Roman's Taxi -Romero -Towtruck NOTE: A Lycan with a Daemon's paintjob appears in a cutscene, however it is purely graphical and is not an actual vehicle in TBoGT's programming whatsoever. ======================================================== *11* VEHICLES ADDED IN TBoGT, AND REDESIGNED VEHICLES ======================================================== This is a list of vehicles added in TBoGT that are not present in GTAIV and TLAD. Whether these are special or not can be found elsewhere in the guide. This is intended as a simple, brief list, and as such will not have descriptions of what each vehicle is or looks like. This also includes a small list of vehicles added in TLAD that are still present for TBoGT. Additionally, a list of redesigned vehicles (vehicles with a new graphic) has been provided, the most notable one being the Schafter in the first mission. These are separate from the normal version of the vehicle (most notable with the Schafter - the original version still appears in Hove Beach). Cars and Motorcycles: -Akuma (Motorcycle) -Brickade (Car) -Buffalo (Car) -Bullet GT (Car) -Caddy (Car...sort of) -F620 (Car) -Police Bike (Motorcycle) -Police Cruiser (Car) -Police Stinger (Car) -Serrano (Car) -Stretch E (Car) -Super Diamond (Car) -Super Drop Diamond (Car) -Tampa (Car) -Vader (Motorcycle) Other Vehicles: -APC (Tank) -Blade (Boat) -Buzzard (Helicopter) -Floater (Boat) -Skylift (Helicopter) -Smuggler (Boat) -Swift (Helicopter) TLAD Vehicles: -Bati Custom (Motorcycle - Sport) -Double T (Motorcycle - Sport -Hakuchou (Motorcycle - Sport) -Hexer (Motorcycle - Chopper) -Slamvan (Car) Redesigned Vehicles: -Faggio -Schafter Spawn points: -Buffalo, Bullet GT, Double T, F620, Faggio redesign, Serrano, Super Diamond, Tampa, and Vader all spawn normally on the streets. -Blade and Floater should spawn normally on the water and at docks. This is not guaranteed 100%, however. They may also be found in drug wars, and in races. -Smuggler only seems to appear in races and a couple of missions. It won't spawn normally on the water. -APC, Caddy, Hexer, and Super Drop Diamond do not appear while driving one. According to the game code, they are programmed to only appear in their "native zone," which unfortunately is unknown. It is likely the "native zone" for these vehicles was never set, causing them to only occur in missions. -Bati Custom, Schafter redesign, and Stretch E both spawn normally on the streets, but only if you're driving one yourself. -Akuma and Hakuchou are supposed to appear in traffic as normal, however I have yet to see one. Will move this entry if/when I do. Some people have apparently seen the Hakuchou, but no such reports about the Akuma, without cheating for one first. -Buzzard, Skylift, and Swift only appear in certain places or missions, as detailed in this guide. -Slamvan only appears in one mission. There is a trick to obtaining it. The strategy is found in the unique vehicles section. -Police Bike, Police Cruiser, and Police Stinger only appear in multiplayer games. -The Brickade was dummied out and does not appear, but even then should only appear in multiplayer. ======================================================== *12* MISSION LIST ======================================================== A list of all missions in the game, along with what vehicles are available in those missions. XTREME0235 ~Helping discover a method to obtain the Skylift!!!!! ======================================================== *16* VERSION HISTORY ======================================================== 0.90 Completed November 6th, 2009. Almost complete. All missions done, cursory glance has revealed the vehicles listed. Some side missions complete. Numbering wrong due to confusion over best order to complete missions. Except a much more complete guide when 1.00 hits. 1.00 Completed November 11th, 2009. Mission order partially revised and incorrect numbering corrected. Added a section for drug wars vehicles, finished the new vehicle list, added vehicles no longer present, and finished many more side missions. 1.05 Completed November 12th, 2009. A few new vehicles added and more info on existing ones (especially ones where the strategy was purely theory). Hexer is, apparently, unobtainable. Very sad. 1.10 Completed November 16th, 2009. Ignore my last update; the Hexer IS obtainable! Difficult and random, though. Although thanks to thekosmicfool, an even easier way has been found! Also a couple other changes I forgot to list here when I made them and have since forgotten entirely. 1.12 Completed November 24th, 2009. More changes, notes about some vehicles. Hexer possibly not unique, and thanks to adamcs, a method to obtain the Caddy w/ cage! 1.15 Completed November 30th, 2009. Some more vehicle additions and alterations, mainly based on the discovery of how to avoid cutscenes after mission failures! Also checked a few other previously-unobtainable vehicles to see if dying would allow them to be kept. Alphabetized the list of terms, and added the "Fire Truck Trick," courtesy of fiis. SKYLIFT IS OBTAINABLE! However, there will not be much info on this until a later update, until then only a link. 1.20 Completed December 2nd, 2009. Revised some things, including spawn points for new vehicles. Skylift strategy complete! I took the strategy currently available and reworded it, slightly modifying it to work much better. Should be flawless now. I know there are other sources (especially youtube walkthroughs) for it, but now this guide officially has one. Enjoy! 1.21 Completed December 3rd, 2009. Added some notes to some vehicles, such as Skylift and Swift (both versions). 1.22 Completed December 4th, 2009. More revisions, tested the Cavalcade FXT.
