For all it's positive and negative aspects, I believe that Resident
Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is an absolutely great game. I haven't even
played the co-op mode yet and I'm having a blast! Rail shooters are a rare
breed and it's good to see them getting more and more attention lately.
While this certainly has lead to some critics to call the Wii a one-trick
pony, it doesn't diminish the fact that the console is absolutely flawless
in it's execution of this genre.

	Umbrella Chronicles is Capcom's first attempt at a Resident Evil on
the Wii and their latest rail shooter. While the past shooters haven't seen
much attention in the public spotlight, Umbrella Chronicles hopes to change
this by including the more popular characters and storylines in past Resident
Evil games. Sure, there's lots of plot inconsistency and the story creates
more plot holes than it fills in (WHERE'S BARRY!!), but the gameplay is
superb. Reviews have criticizes the lag of the crosshairs and the sluggish
reload controls, but I, personally, have barely noticed any problems with
either of these issues. They certainly haven't stopped me from enjoying
the game.

	Anyways, I was perrusing the Umbrella Chronicles board here at good
ol' GameFAQs when I notice the overwhelming number of boss topics. I think
tomyself, "Aren't there any FAQs on this matter?"

	The answer is: No! No one has written such a guide for this game.
I figure I might as well and write my first-ever FAQ for a site that I've
been visiting for well over six years.

	I hope this'll help you in all your boss-slaying endeavors. If you
have any questions, comments, or advice, you can find my contact information
at the end of this document.

	Happy hunting!

First draft. Added the Introduction, Table of Contects, Version History,
Boss Tactics, Frequently Asked Questions, and Legal Stuff, Credits, and

The FAQ section is empty and I apologize if I spelled any of the boss' names
incorrectly (or if the entire name is wrong). I'll add the correct names in
a later version if enough people bug me about it.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

General Strategies: First of all, the suggested weapon is what I recommend
you select at the Weapon Selection screen before the start of each mission.
I'll usually only recommend a shotgun-type or submachine gun-type, so feel
free to pick any of the three weapons in that class. They all basically do
the same thing, so just pick which one you like best or that you've upgraded
the most. Myself? I prefer the Assault Shotgun and the Submachine Gun HP.

	The reason I recommend the Submachine Gun so often is because it's a
terrific learner's weapon. You don't need precise aim. Just fire wildly in
the general direction of any boss' weak point and you'll usually make him
flinch. It's a piece of cake. It's also extremely easy to take down rocks,
rockets, tentacles, maggots and anything else a boss will throw at you.
Shotguns pack more power, but bosses rarely get close enough to let you
unload on them and, when they do, you should be more concerned with getting
them away from you.

	I won't recommend rocket or grenade launchers. These weapons are for
a last resort and it doesn't take a guide to point at a boss and shoot a
missile at it. I also won't recommend any of the magnums. While powerful,
they take quite a bit of consistent, steady aim and, if you're that good,
you probably don't need a guide. Hell, you can probably just take a boss
down with the handgun.

	The weak point is, obviously, the spot on the enemy that causes the
most damage and makes it flinch. You'll want to shoot this spot as often
as you possibly can. All fights are about getting the boss down to zero
faster than he can kill you, so the weak point is cruical.

	With that said, let's get started!

+=================+

    Stinger

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point: Head/Face and Stinger Bulb.

Tactic: For a first boss, this guy is typically easy. This is also a good
time to practice your dodging. If you can nail each dodge command when it
pops up, then you'll be practically invincible. I say practically because
the scorpion will often cover his face, then slowly back up. When he does
this, it means he's about to lunge forward and strike with his stinger.
When this happens, start shooting that stinger. It'll make him flinch and
the attack will be aborted. Simply keep the fire on his face (when it's
uncovered), the stinger, and dodge when you can. It'll fall in no time.

+=================+

   Giant Bat

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Head.

Tactic: Another easy boss. Apparently, Capcom thinks we need practice.
Anyways, this guy pretty much just flies around and periodically swoops in to
hit you. When it does this, shoot it in the head. It'll flinch and fly off,
leaving you unharmed. The camera doesn't focus on it very often and little
bats will come at you in packs. If you're not very good at shooting them
with a handgun, then get your submachine gun out and mow them down. Just
watch your ammo. Once you get onto the roof, you'll have far more
opportunities to shoot the big guy. Take him down!

Train Derailment Three

+=================+

  Queen Leech
(First Form)

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Head.

Tactic: No matter what weapon you enter the level with, there will always be
grenade launcher ammo lying on the floor during this fight. Don't use it
on this boss! Trust me, this guy is easy enough and you can use that ammo
later.

	This boss fight is fairly uniform. It'll simply walk toward you and
attempt to strike you with it's tentacle. However, it'll ALWAYS throw
leeches at your face first. Swipe them off quickly with your knife and then
shoot the boss in the head to make him flinch. If you're too slow, he'll
whip you. It can get kinda tough to aim with the leech slime blurring the
screen, so try and place the crosshairs on his head before the leeches come.
When you move back to the door, it'll stop throwing leeches and just try to
whip you. Focus on the head and it'll fall soon.

+=================+

  Queen Leech
(Second Form)

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Mouth.

Tactic: The first part of this battle takes place on an ascending elevator
with the Queen Leech chasing after you. The key here is to shoot it's weak
point, which is a small, circular mouth at the front of it's boss, which
causes it to pause and fall back before resuming the chase. This can be
difficult because the tiny weak point flails back and forth wildly. You'll
most likely waste too much submachine gun ammo trying to hit that spot, so
use the grenade launcher. Each shot guarantees it'll hit that weak point and
slow him down.

	On the second part, the trick is to make him move into the sunlight.
This makes him extremely vulnerable. Shoot his weak point til it starts
flailing, then just shoot in the general area of it's mouth. It'll start to
move backward. Keep this up until he steps into the sunlight, then unload
with your submachine gun and any grenades/grenade launcher ammo you have left.
If you don't dodge his attacks, you can get pushed back further from the
sunlight. Just keep shooting him til he falls back and then
move forward when the Z prompt comes up. Be persistent!

+=================+

Proto-Tyrant

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Shotgun.

Weak Point:  Heart.

Tactic: This guy can barely be considered a boss! But he DOES have a health
meter. Oh well. When you fight him on the elevator, the health meter won't
be shown, but it is there. Use your favorite weapon to shoot his heart from
afar and dodge when the prompts appear. He'll die in no time.

	Except that he isn't dead! When he gets back up after the elevator
stops, shoot his weak point to make him flinch. When he does, get out your
shotgun and shoot him point-blank in the heart. He'll collapse faster than
you can say "Jill sandwich."

Beginnings Two
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

+=================+

     Ivan

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Head.

Tactic: Ivan's protective coat is... well... protective, but you can still
damage him by shooting there. Of course, the fight will pass quickly if you
shoot his head and you'll get more efficiency out of you ammo. Shooting his
head will cause him to flinch when he runs and jumps at you, so that'll
limit the amount of damage you take. Other than that, dodge well and use the
rocket launcher you picked up during the level. If you didn't pick it up or
used it already, there's another refill near the green herb.

     Yawn

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Inside Mouth.

Tactic: Yawn will make you yawn. Meaning, it's a long and boring fight.
It can get quite tedious, since it doesn't open it's mouth very often or for
very long, but stick with it. Keep the crosshairs on his head and shoot
every time his big maw opens up. Not only does this do lots of damage, but
this also causes it's attacks against you to fail. He'll try and fake you
out by moving his head back and forth, but just follow and be ready. When
you get on top of the second floor, shoot the chandelier like Chris tells
you to. The fight's almost over!

+=================+

   Plant 42

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Shotgun

Weak Point:  Hanging Sac

Tactic: Plant 42 can get confusing. With all the tentacles flailing around,
if can be hard to tell where to aim. Never fear! It's actually not that
bad. When you're on the ground, two vines will wildly wave in your face.
Shoot them both to prevent their attack. You don't have to hit directly on
the tip of the vine, but anyone on it will do. When it spits poison at you,
shoot them all down. Afterward, you'll move upstairs and this is when the
weak point opens up. Lay into it with your shotgun and pay attention to
when the dodge command pop up. You'll end up back on the ground, whether
you're successful or not. Wash, rinse, and repeat til it dies!

Mansion Incident Three

+=================+

    Tyrant

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Heart.

Tactic: The big, bad Tyrant is pissed. He'll basically just run at you
constantly. When he does, unload onto his heart with your submachine gun.
Do the same thing for when he jumps into the air. Hopefully, you'll make
him flinch when he gets close enough. If he grabs you, then aim either at
his face or his heart and he'll drop you. Other than that, just shoot and
dodge. It's not terribly complicated. Also, if you take too long, then
Brad will drop down a rocket launcher for you to use. Make some fireworks!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Nightmare Two
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

+=================+

     Yawn

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Inside Mouth.

Tactic: This is the exact same fight as before. Lazy Capcom. There is one
difference and that's when Yawn goes on the second floor. He'll swoop down
from above and try to strike you. Just shoot his mouth when he appears.
Use the submachine gun if your aim is terrible. Other than that, just
unload with your weapon of choice when his mouth opens. Use the magnum to
win with style!

^^^^^^^^^^^^
Rebirth Two
^^^^^^^^^^^^

+=================+

  Lisa Trevor

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Shotgun.

Weak Point:  Face... err, Faces?

Tactic: They couldn't have made this battle easier if they wanted to!
Lisa will sit right in front of you throughout the entire battle, so unload
onto her with your favorite shotgun. Jump when the command appears and
you'll avoid her attacks. Also, shooting her will make her flinch, as long
as you aim in the area around her head. Lisa regenerates health fairly
quickly and sometimes the battle won't end even if you deplete all her
health. I think the game waits til she's empty on life and right below
the center chandelier, so keep shooting until it ends.

Grave Digger

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Shotgun

Weak Point:  Mouth.

Tactic: I bet his mouth isn't so tough! This boss shares many similarities
with Yawn, but is still unique. When he pops up, shoot him in the mouth.
That'll stop him from lashing at you. However, even though his mouth is his
weak point, you won't get many opportunities to exploit it. You mainly just
want to shoot him there to halt his attacks, then shoot the rest of his body
with your shotgun of choice. Attacking the body is the best way to kill
him, unlike with Yawn. If you keep waiting for a chance to shoot his mouth,
it's gonna be a very long fight. Other than that, use the dodge commands
when he burrows toward you or tries to fall onto you. Use a submachine gun
if you're having trouble with the rocks.

   Nemesis

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun

Weak Point:  Head.

Tactic: S.T.A.R.S.!!! Sorry, I couldn't resist. Good ol' Nemmy is ready
for his final showdown. Too bad we don't have a Paracelsius gun to help us
out. But we don't need it! Nemesis basically just runs around and tries to
grab you like the pervert he is. When he does grab you, shot his head to
make him drop you. Then load into him. When he jumps into the roof, fire
at him as much as you can until his tentacles burrow underground. You can
try to shoot them when they pop up to prevent damage, but they're usually too
fast and numerous for it to do any good. Just take the damage, it's not a
whole lot. When he leaps at you from above, dodge out of the way and enjoy
your free potshots.

     Mr. X

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Head.

Tactic: If you let this guy get out of control, he can hurt you. A LOT.
So, the key here is getting him to flinch, because all he does it run at you
through the entire fight. However, sometimes he'll stop and slowly walk
toward you. Get ready to dodge. Other than that, just shoot at him
whenever he charges. He won't flinch until he gets real close, so just let
loose with the submachine gun to ensure your safety. Whenever you get the
chance, shoot him in the head!

     Talos
  (First Form)

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  None!

Tactic: Unlike other bosses so far, Talos has no apparent weak point.
Instead, your objective will be to strip the white armor off his body. He'll
then be extra vulnerable to your attacks, but you won't be able to make him
flinch. To keep yourself safe, you'll have to counter all of his attacks.
Dodge behind the walls when the commands come up. When the wall is
destroyed, that's your opportunity to each shoot his armor off or, if it's
already gone, shooting his exposed areas. Throw a grenade for extra damage!

	Use the button commands when he gets close to run away from him.
When he starts running in circles around you, use your submachine gun to
destroy the rockets with ease. Preserve your ammo, though. That submachine
gun is gonna be real handy during his second form. When he fires a cluster
of rockets are you, get out your shotgun and shoot them down all at once. If
you're real good, you can make him flinch from afar before he can fire them
all.

     Talos
(Second Form)

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:

Weak Point:

Tactic: Here he is! Umbrella's most perfect bio-weapon! Is this the best
they can do? Your priority is to take out the three red, glowing spots on
both his arms and his chest. Once you do that, he'll fall to the ground
and expose his weak area. Shoot that flashing red thing! After a few
seconds, he'll get up and crawl toward you. Dodge his attacks. He'll then
grab you, so shoot both tentacles on either side of his head, then fire into
his mouth. He'll let go and the weak point will be exposed once more.

	If you take too long when he's hanging from the ceiling, he'll
throw several attacks at you. The first are his laser beams. There will be
three dodge prompts in a row, each faster than the last. Nail them all and
you'll emerge unscathed. Second, his tentacles will emerge from the wall.
Shoot each one as come at you to prevent damage. After six attempts, the
tentacles will receed. Lastly, his tentacles will also burst from the
ceiling. Rocks will fall down on you, so shoot those and then hit the
accompanying tentacle. He'll do this four times. He'll also periodically
swipe at you with a gigantic claw. Don't let that stop you! Defeat him
and end Umbrella's reign of terror!

+=================+

  Twin Ivans

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun.

Weak Point:  Heads.

Tactic: Think of this as a repeat of the Ivan fight in Beginnings Two,
except now there are two of them and they shoot rockets. This fight is
actually very easy as long as you keep your cool. Just shoot their heads,
which are easy targets, whenever they charge you and they'll flinch.
Shoot the rockets they fire at you (with a handgun or submachine gun,
depending on your accuracy). When all three of you leap into mid-air, just
try and cover their whole body with submachine gun damage to make them
flinch. It can get tricky there.

	Don't try and rush yourself. It may seem better to burn one down as
fast as you can so there's only one left, but that can leave you open to
their attacks if you don't concentrate well enough. You can, once again,
shoot their coats to deal some damage, but shooting the head is far more
efficient. Stay in control and they'll fall in no time.

+=================+

    Sergei

+=================+

Suggested Weapon:  Submachine Gun

Weak Point:  Orb on Back.

Tactic: Finally, we get to kick this smug, Russian fiend's ass! He looks
tough, but it's really just a show. He'll often stop and launch a giant sac
at you. Sometimes it'll be empty, but other times there will be maggots
inside. Shoot both it and the maggots, which take multiple shots, to stay
safe. Try and shoot the giant, spiked appendage to avoid getting hit and use
the Jump prompt when it appears. Not only does this avoid damage, but it
puts you in position right behind him. Put your crosshairs over the weak
point and fire!

	When he gets low on health, he'll attach himself to the central
pillar. Keep your eyes on the two tentacles on the far left and right. When
they move forward, shoot them to drive them back. He'll keep shooting red
sacs at you, but there won't be maggots in them. Concentrate on shooting
his chest area, which is challenging because the spiked appendage will be
swaying back and forth. Keep at it and the end credits are yours!
