> When a coin is synthesized and added to a weapon, an icon appears in the Weapon
  Status screen.
  + Some icons are the same as the coin, others are different.

**   NEGATIVE SPECIAL EFFECTS  **
*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*

> There are several negative effects:
  + One is 'Fragile' and this causes WHP to reduce more quickly.
    - Can't be added; comes 'built-in'.
    - Looks like a blue and white eyeball.
    - Use an 'Indestructible Coin' to cancel this effect.
  + The other is 'Poverty' because the enemies give very few gilda. 
    - Also can't be added; comes 'built-in'.
    - Icon is a grey and white (empty?) coin bag.
    - A wealth coin cancels this effect.
  + 'Dark' is both good and bad.
    - Hits are harder against enemies.
    - But some of your HP is used to make the hits.
      # Your HP slowly decreases even if the monsters DON'T hit you.
      # If this icon remains in later, stronger weapons, the reduction in your
        health is speeded up.
    - Cancel this effect with a 'Bull's Eye' Coin.


> When a negative effect is cancelled, the opposite (positive) effect is NOT 
added.
  + For example:
    - 'Fragile' is cancelled when an 'Indestructible Coin' is added.
      # To make the weapon's WHP reduce more slowly, a second Indestructible Coin
        must be added.
    - 'Poverty' is cancelled by adding a wealth Coin.
      # To increase the amount of gilda dropped by monsters, a second Wealth Coin
        must be added.
    - To increase critical damage after cancelling Dark, a second Bull's Eye Coin
      must be added.

**  SIMILAR EFFECTS  **
*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*

> There are two effects that are very similar.
  + One is 'Absorption' (the yellow spiral on green).
    - When you hit an enemy, some of the damage that would have been done is
      converted into one or two HP points for your character.
  + The second is 'Heal' (the blue star agains a dark blue background).
  + You could add a synthesized 'Healing' Coin to cancel the 'Absorption' effect,
    but it isn't really necessary.
  + YOU CAN'T HAVE BOTH THESE EFFECTS AT THE SAME TIME.

> Differences between these two effects:
  + 'Absorption' only heals when the weapon is used.
    - But not every time it's used.
  + 'Healing' is preferable because healing takes place (one point every few
    steps):
    - While the weapon is equipped.
   AND
    - While the character walks the floor.

**   POSITIVE EFFECTS  **

> The rest of the coins add the following special effects:
  + Bull's Eye ....... Increases the damage done.
  + Indestructible ... The weapon is more durable (WHP drops more slowly).
  + Wealth ........... Increases the Gilda dropped by enemies.
  + Experience ....... Speeds the experience (ABS) gained from blue Synth Drops.
  + Bandit ........... Sometimes an item carried by an enemy is stolen from them.
  + Time ............. Sometimes the enemy is put into the 'Stopped' state.
                       - For a few moments, they cannot move or hit back.

> You can add a total of 8 different special effects.
  + Each coin needs one Synthesis Point.
    - Only one of each type of effect may be added.
  + They show in the Weapon Status Screen above the WHP Gauge and below the
    picture of the weapon.
    - In this order across the screen:

> Chapter 4 (Ocean's Roar Cave) gave you opportunity to build up certain weapons.

**   RECOMMENDED BUILD-UPS ~~ CHP 4  **

> During Chapter 4, you were recommended to continue to build (-->) weapons for
  both Max and Monica (choose among them or do them all).

  + Max's:
    - Stinger Wrench --> Poison Wrench.
    - Cubic Hammer   --> Digi Hammer.
    - Wild Cat       --> Sexy Panther.
    - Jurak Gun      --> Question Shooter.
    - Build up Dark Viper.

  + Build up Monica's Armbands:
    - Platinum Brassard     --> Athena's Armlet (Fire emphasis).
    - 2nd Platinum Brassard --> Destruction Brassard (Lightning emphasis).
    - Pocklekul             --> Spirit Brassard (Cyclone emphasis).
    - Thorn Armlet          --> Moon Armlet (Chill emphasis).

  + Build Monica's Swords:
    - Serpent Slicer --> Tsukikage
    - Claymore       --> Cross Heinder.
    - Antique Sword  --> Halloween Blade.
    - Brave Ark      --> Ruler's Sword.
    - Wise Owl Sword --> Lamb's Sword (alternating Light and Dark Sword).
    - Drain Seeker   --> Sargatanas.
    - Build up Small Sword.

NOTE:  You can build these weapons to the point where the new weapon's name is
       displayed and the wavery blue lines show in the Weapon Status Screen.
       BUT:
       + The build-up will NOT be possible until certain monsters are defeated.


  HOWEVER...


> Attribute buildup:
  + You CAN build attributes to 110 points (Durable is less) and in some cases
    (indicated below) to 125.
  + The box charts below give the MINIMUM values needed for the listed attribute.
    - The '-->' (followed by values) are those NEEDED for the FINAL upgrade of
      these weapons.
    - 'Attack' values are not included since these automatically increase every
      time the weapon levels up.
    - If you have 'spare' Synthesis Points, build up any of the other attributes.

> General rules for building attributes (synthesize the crystals first):
  + Power Crystals (Attack) and Destruction Crystals (Smash) make weapons 
stronger.
  + For the following monster types:
    - Beast ............. Hunter Crystals (Beast attribute).
    - Reptile ........... Sea Dragon Crystals (Scale).
    - Aquatic ........... Sea Dragon Crystals (Scale).
    - Undead ............ Holy Crystals (Exorcism).
    - Flying Critters ... Wind Crystals (Cyclone).
  + For the others, one of the four magics (as indicated in the blue Monster Note
    Book in your Item Bag):
      Flame (Fl.), Chill (Ch.), Lightning (Li.), or Cyclone (Cy.)

  + Check your blue Monster Note Book.
    - As soon as you have defeated at least one critter, you can find their
      weakness(es).
    - You can also find out how many you have defeated (the book keeps a running
      total).

NOTE: If you didn't take advantage of Lin in Chapter 4, you should raise at
      least the following armbands:
         # Destruction Brassard.
         # Spirit Brassard.

**  SHORT-CUT TO BUILDING WEAPONS  **

> If you have enough medals, you can buy a 'Name-Change Ticket' from Mayor Need
  (on the train) for 40 medals each.
  + When you have a Name-Change Ticket in your item Bag, there is an addition to
    the menu for all weapons.
    - Change Name ..... Choose this if you want to change a weapon.
  + Name-Change Tickets not only change a weapon's name but also change the weapon
    itself.
    - For example.
      # Suppose you have a 'Digi Hammer'.
        * The build up to Heavy Hammer requires that the Digi Hammer defeat two
          monsters: An 'Iron Mask' and a 'Pirate Eye'.
        * With a Name-Change Ticket in the Item Bag, put the indicator on the Digi
          Hammer and press [X].
        * Choose 'Change Name' and the screen of the 'Name Change Menu' is
          displayed.
        * By:
          1) Backspacing (<) to the first character in 'Digi'
          2) Pressing 'DEL' four times (to delete the word 'Digi').
          3) Pressing 'INS' five times (to insert five spaces).
          4) Selecting the characters to spell 'Heavy' (not all capitals).
         NOTE: you MUST spell the name exactly as it would appear on the 'real'
               weapon.
        * The weapon becomes the '[Heavy Hammer]'
          NOTE: The game adds the square brackets to distinguish the renamed
                Hammer from one that has been built up from scratch.
      # The new weapon has the appearance AND the attributes of the Heavy Hammer.
      NOTE: You could sell the [Heavy Hammer] for 800 G!

  + ANY WEAPON CAN BE CHANGED TO ANY OTHER WEAPON WITH THIS METHOD.
    - For example: You can change a sword into a Heavy Hammer.

> WARNING:
  + THE NEWLY NAMED WEAPON HOLDS THE *MINIMUM* ATTRIBUTE VALUES OF THE HEAVY
    HAMMER NOT...
    ...REPEAT, NOT THE VALUES YOU MAY HAVE BUILT UP.

    - For example a Digi Hammer which had a high Smash attribute (say 125), when
      the name change takes effect, has the reduced value of that attribute, 110.

> BENEFIT:
  + Suppose you take a weapon that has had NO build-up such as a 'Broad Sword' or
    a 'Battle Wrench' and change its name to 'Heavy Hammer'.
    - Here are the changes in Attribute values:

  + Buy the least expensive weapons (Classic Gun at 150 G) to be renamed.

  + Change the name to 'LEGEND' (yes all capitals).
    - This weapon builds up levels quickly.
      # It starts with two Synthesis Points and adds 6 every Level-Up.
    - You can use the Synthesis points to build attributes to 250 points.
      # Start with Smash.
      # Add coins as you can.
  + In the examples below, I used a Battle Wrench.
    - You can just as easily and more cheaply use a Classic Gun.

  + The dungeon is Ocean's Roar Cave.
  + The Georama is Veniccio, used to restore the Luna Lab (otherwise known as
    'Lunatic Wisdom Laboratory').

> The first major task of the chapter:
  + Max and Monica must remove the controlling device off the head of Shingala.
    - Shingala is the Shigura (Sea Dragon) child rescued by Pau.
    - Shingala is injured, so the two must go to the Shigura Village for Sea
      Dragon Medicine.

> Second major task:
  + After healing Shingala, they see Gaspard's Battleship heading for the Shigura
    Village.
    - When they get there, they find the adult Shigura have been enslaved by Dr.
      Jaming with the same device.
    - They use the Shigura's heads to defeat Dr. Jaming by knocking over his 
craft.
      # The last view of Dr. Jaming is with a Shigura touching him with its 
tongue.

> With the rescue of the Shigura, Luna Lab is completely restored.
  + Entering the Central Lab you get a long video which gives explanation of the
    importance of the Atlamillia Stones.
  + There are three:
    - Orange = Sun Stone, in the hands of Emperor Griffon.
    - Red    = Earth Stone, in Max's hands.
    - Blue   = Moon Stone, held by Monica.
  + Max meets his mother (through a holographic communicator) who gives the
    explanation.
    - They find that Emperor Griffon is now 10,000 years in the past.

> They are surprised to find Dr. Jaming's grandson (also Dr. Jaming) in the
  Central Lab.
  + The younger Dr. Jaming is using his grandfathers invention (the floating
    vehicle) which is based on 'Aeroharmonics'.
    - His own invention is in space/time and results in the train called Ixion.
      # Ixion can be used to travel 10,000 years to the past.
    - They are told that it will take time to build the train.
  + The rebel forces (which include Max's mother) who are fighting against Griffon
    are in trouble.
    - Emperor Griffon has destroyed the origin point of Paznos, the mobile
      stronghold for the rebel army.
    - The origin point of Paznos is the Gundorada Workshop.

      # Max's guns with Gerald in the party.
      # Monica's swords with Milane in the party.

NOTE 2:
  + With Pau in your party, and the Propellor Blades or Buggy for Steve's
    transport, you may want to fill the Time goals on earlier floors.
    - With Pau, review the map to see if there is a locked area.

    - IF, yes, IF there are no locked rooms AND no mimics on the floor:
      # Do a speedy fly through with Steve to get all the monsters.
      # You should do most floors fast enough to get the Time Goal.
    - Time Goals in the Underground Channel are very short.
      # If there is no locked room you MIGHT be able to fill a time goal if you:
        * Use Steve.
        * Don't stop to pick up Gilda or Synth Drops.
        * I decided it wasn't worth the time spent (I'd rather put that time to

    - As they do, a large shadow flows across them.

  + They see Gaspard's Battleship going toward Mt. Gundor.

    - Max:     Gaspard must be hopping mad because we've been restoring all the

    - Monica:  There's no way we're going to let him stop us, right?

    - The clue is that Monica says you can't build houses of wood and straw as

  + 'kursaal' suggested a Straw House, but the straw Shed works as well and uses

**   MOUNT GUNDOR DUNGEON  **

> The dungeon in this chapter is Mt. Gundor (called MG in the Walkthrough).
  + You have to climb to the Peak of the mountain, then climb back down inside the
    volcano.
  + Gate Key:
    - On the way up ..... Magma Rock.
    - On the way down ... Rope.

  + Dungeon Key (locked areas):
    - On the way Up ..... Stone T (a 'T'-shaped magma stone)
    - On the way down ... White Wind Vase.

  + On the way up, the locked area's 'gate' is a tiny fumerole just in front of a
    passage blocked by several magma rocks.
    - Use the 'Stone T' there (red exclamation point).

  + On the way down, there are vertical red-hot lava streams blocking the room.
    - Use the White Wind Vase to cool and solidify the lava.

> Georama.
  + For several floors you get few things to make.
  + Even when you do get items, you cannot build anything until you get mud to
    close off the steam geysers.
    - Have to block the geysers to make a stable foundation for the Georama.
  + A number of conditions will be 'made clear'.
    - These are in preparation for other Georama activities.

> TIME LIMITS on dungeon floors.
  + With Pau and the 'Propellor' blades (or the 'Buggy') on Steve:
    - You may want to challenge those Time Limits in the Underground Channel!
      + But the times are very short and the floor may be large.
      + I didn't find the activity of enough value.
    - Also any other floors in the other dungeons you haven't yet filled a Time
      Limit for.

> SPHEDA in this dungeon:
  + Along the walls of the upward path dungeon are long steam vents.
    - Try not to lose the Sphere down these vents.
  + The downward side of Mount Gundor is inside the volcano.
    - There are narrow lava streams along the wall.
    - Although they appear to be solid, if the Sphere goes onto them, it is out
      of bounds.

    - If you don't have this third level of the Badge, go back to Ocean's Roar
      Cave:
      # Floor 11. Banquet of the Dead is a good one to upgrade the Badge.
    - If you don't have this Badge at all, go back to Starlight Canyon:
      # Floor 4 is where you get the Badge :
      # How to get and upgrade it:
        * Use the Dark Cloud 2 Walkthrough: Chapter 3.
        * When this Badge is at level 20, you can fill the 'Wipe-Out with Monster
          Transformation' goals in Starlight Canyon.
  NOTE: You can raise other Badges, but it's very, very slow (time spent may not
        be worth it).
        + As far as I can see, the only reason to do so is because you get a
          'Monster Drop' each time a badge has and evolutionary upgrade.
        + These Drops when spectrumized give at least +4 for each weapon 
attribute.

  + Once to fill the 'Max's Gun' Wipe-Out Goal.
    - BE CAREFUL:
      # If you accidently swing your hammer at the 'breath' attack of any Gundron,
        you'll hit the breath-ball back at the monster.
        * This will hit and damage the monster, disqualifying you from filling the
          Wipe-Out Goal!
      # If you are holding [X] to fire, and then get hit, that stops Max from
        firing from a moment.
        * This causes Max to do the Power Attack with the Hammer.
        * If it hits the monster, the Wipe-Out goal is NOT filled.
        * Release [X] as soon as he gets hit.

  + You may need a third time to fill the Time Goal (use Ridepod).

       field.

**   BUILDING THE GEORAMA  **

> Prepare the ground:
  + Make:
    - 15x Hardened Mud Piles, one for each geyser.
  + First place a single mud pile on the ground and away from any geyser.
    - Go down and take a photo (title: Mud).
  + Next use clean-up to pick up the mud pile (it will be returned to the 'Place'
    list).
    - Now place a Hardened Mud Pile on each steam vent in the Georama field.
    - There are exactly 15.
    - The geysers will disappear and the ground will be smooth.


> Decide how you want to build the georama.
  You will, before the georama is finalized, place:
  + Four brick houses.
    - One will be on a three-block high platform.
    - Another will be surrounded by a fence with a gate.
  + One Windmill.
  + One Generator.
  + The Work Arm.
  + The Great Crane.
  + A number of items such as Pots and Chimney.

NOTE: There are many ways to build the Heim Rada Village, but the following works.

      + I built and placed the houses one at a time because it seemed to build the
        needed culture points faster:

      + I finished the Georama as far as possible at this point in the game (80%)
        before going to the future:
        - It saved time over going to the Workshop in the future every time I got
          the 'Change in the Future' message.
        - I have done it both ways and it made no difference in the Mini-Chests
          that became available.

 First House:
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

> The platform and first house.
  + Make 18x Blocks:
    - Place the first six in a rectangle of 2 x 3 blocks not too close to the edge
      of the field.
    - Then stack the rest onto the rectangular base so the blocks are three levels
      high.

  + Make one Brick House and one Brick Chimney:
    - Place it on the stack of blocks.
    - Just wiggle it until it goes blue (it DOES fit).
    - Add the Brick Chimney to the roof.
  
  + Make:
    - 3x Blocks AND 3x Stair Blocks (so Max/Monica can climb up to the house 
door).
    - Place two blocks two high in front of the steps from the front door and
      against the block in the three-level stack.
      # If the first of these blocks stays red move it to the other end of the
        house, but you'll have to turn the house around.
      # Place one Stair block on these two.
    - Place one more block in front of that set.
      # Place a second Stair Block on that one.
      # Place the third Stair Block in front of them (they don't have to be
        perfectly aligned) to make a long stair/ramp.


> Windmill and second house:
  + Make the Windmill and place it anywhere convenient.
  + Make the Brick House and place it near the Windmill.

> Third House.
  + Make a third Brick House and place it anywhere convenient.

> Fourth House.
  + Make and place a Brick House so there is room around it for the fence (Gerald
    won't like the house unless it is fenced in).
  + Make 29x Iron Fence and place them around the house (they click into place).
    - I put 25 around the house leaving a single gap in front of the stairs to
      the house.
      # Two at the front, starting level with the edge of the stairs.
      # 7 along the side of the house.
      # Six along the back.
      # 7 along the other side of the house.
      # Three along the front, leaving a gap in front of the stairs.
    - Then I placed the other four to make an 'avenue' to the gap.
      # If the fence parts want to click to the wrong place, turn them around 180
        degrees.
  + Make and place an Iron Gate in the opening of the avenue.


NOTE: Ignore any 'Change in the future' messages for the time being.

> Placing people in the Houses.
  + Put Cedric in the house that's 3-stories high.
    - Go inside and talk to him.
  + Place Erik in the house beside the Windmill.
    - Talk to him if you want to.
  + Place Gerald in the house with the fence.
    - Talk to him too.
  + Place Borneo in the last house.
    - Talk to him.


> Culture additions:
  + Make and place 10 pots as follows:
    - One on each side of the door to Erik's house.
    - One on each side of the door to Borneo's house.
    - One on each side of the bottom of the stairs to Cedric's house.
    - One on each side of the gate to Gerald's house.
    - And one on each side of the entry to the windmill.
  + Make 10 more pots and place them in various places INSIDE the fence.


> Power Equipment:
  + Make and place:
    - The Great Crane on the roof of Erik's house (the one near the Windmill).
    - The Power Arm on the roof of Borneo's House.
    - Place the Power Generator anywhere it is convenient.


> Bring Culture up to at least 100:
  + Make the following one at a time, then check 'Culture'
    - Stop as soon as you have passed 100.
      # Add a Brick Chimney to Erik's, Borneo's and Gerald's Houses.
  + If it is still less than 100:
    - Place Iron Lamp 2 at the back of Gerald's house.
    - If necessary, you can add Iron Lamp 2 to Erik's and/or Borneo's houses.

  NOTE: 'Setback' refers to an indented area into one of the buildings and
        sometimes bordered by a low fence.

    - At the Time Gate, face the center of the area (a deep pit).
      # Go right toward the first of the buildings (the high fence should be on
        your right).
        * About three-fourths of the distance to the first building and beside the
          outer fence is a mini-chest with a 'Fruit of Eden'.
      # Continue to the first building.
        * In the first setback into the building and in the far corner near the
          fence, there is a chest with 'Potato Pie'.
      # Keep walking in the same direction.
        * Just before the next setback is another chest (second 'Fruit of Eden').
      # This setback (deeper than the first) has three large yellow arrowheads
        pointing in to the first elevator.
        * Don't go up yet.
      # Continue past the elevator to the next setback.

              using that device.
    - Monica: The workshop itself?!
    - Garek:  The Fire Squall is a terrifying device that takes energy from the
              volcano and turns it into a boiling hot rain...
              + They tried to use it to destroy the Workshop.
  + The Fire Squall was destroyed here in the future.
    - Monica guesses they have set it up in the past to destroy the Origin Point
      to prevent the Workshop from ever existing. there.
    - Garek:  Yeah, I guess that's what happened.
    - Max:    So we have to take out the Fire Squall in the past as well, right?
    - Garek:  That's right! I think the device is near the crater at the top of 
the
              volcano.

  + When you go to the Main Menu, the battle stops.
  + Make sure Steve is equipped with the Nova Cannon ~~ the only weapon that
    reaches that far.


> Strategy:
  + Keep firing.
    - Move to one side of the arena as far as you can while firing.
    - Then move back as far as you can in the opposite direction still firing.
    - Repeat until the Battleship is defeated.
  + Moving from side to side as you fire will keep damage down while still hitting
    the Battleship.
  + You should be able to finish this fight without having to restore the gun
    with Repair Powder.
    - And without having to refuel the Ridepod. 


> When the Battleship is damaged enough:

    - Monica runs closer to it.

  + But before he can do anything more to Monica, he realizes the ship is falling.

    - The ship begins to slide down the inside crater wall and down into the
      crater.
    - Max runs to the edge of the crater as the ship begins to slide down more
      steeply and much faster.

           Volcano.
           - I'm heading out to save her!
  + Galen: Is that right? Then take this.

> Max is given the Fire Horn by Galen who tells him:
  + The bottom of Mt. Gundor is a dangerous place with a flowing river of lava.
    - The going is very rough.
    - Use that when flames block your path. The same flames will become your
      servants.
    - You should be able to make your way across the lava. That's the legendary
      instrument: Fire Horn.
    - It's one of my family's greatest treasures. It will come in handy.
  + Max thanks Galen, telling him he'll do his best.

> Galen walks away from Max, saying:

      # But go around the side to hit it again, or Max will kick it.

  + King Mimic (there are 4!):
    - You'll also have to dodge the King Mimic.
    - If you have Pau in your party, he'll warn you about mimics.
    - Get behind and keep hitting.
      # But it will try to turn on you to clap hands, so be careful.

  + Mimics (there are 8!).
    - Power-Up hit first, move to the side (so you don't kick), then just keep
      hitting.

  + Lava Bat:
    - Use the Power-Up hit for the Lava Bat.
    - Be prepared to do it several times.
    - Carry an Antidote Amulet in a Active Item Slot.
      # It has poison in its bite.

  + Alexander:
    - It spits out a fireball, so be prepared to dodge.

NOTE: There are two ways you can defeat Gaspard.

> If you REALLY want to slash and hack at him (the Dark Assassin) here is the
  best method BUT...
  + Firing from a distance doesn't work very well.
    - Monica is incapacitated so Max must fight alone.
    - You cannot Lock-On so it is no use using Bombs.
    - Use your best Hammer/Wrench (LEGEND if you have it).
      # If necessary go to other floors and raise the weapon first.
      # LEGEND's Smash Attribute can be raised to 198 in just a SHORT TIME (you
        need 16 Synthesis Points or 3 Levels Up).

  + One of Gaspard's attacks is similar to the Bone Lord's (magic flashes across
    the ground).
    - BUT it is MUCH MORE DANGEROUS.
    - Goes in two directions (V-shaped).
  + Another attack is circling flames with Gaspard as the center of the circle.
    - Watch Max's HP and get in close to use his Hammer.
    - The worst is that he leaps over Max's head and comes in from behind.

 + WATCH MAX'S HP AND HEAL SOONER THAN TOO LATE!!!

 + NOTE: If Gaspard defeats Max: he'll say: You should have surrendered.
          You can't beat me.
         - Then the game is over.


> OR YOU CAN USE THE RIDEPOD:
  + Much faster and less dangerous, though dangerous enough.
    - You can't simply run away (nothing happens if you do).
    - Keep Locking On and firing at Gaspard, but move away at the same time.
      # Turn fast if Gaspard leaps.
    - Each time you hit him, he pauses for a moment.
  + Repeat until he is defeated.
    - The screen will go black for a moment or two.

> When defeated, Gaspard kneels.
  + Gaspard:  Hah... Once again... Why don't you give up boy?
  + Max:      I won't forgive what you've done.
  + Gaspard:  You say you won't forgive what I've done... But Why?

> Switch to the Ridepod (the Nova Cannon is best).

  + Lock-on and fire at Gaspard as quickly as possible, moving around to the 
right.

  + When Gaspard leaps into the air:
    - He's about to send a huge ball of fire at you.
    - Move rapidly away from him but continue to fire the Nova Cannons at him.
    - It shouldn't take long to defeat him.


> When defeated, the demon form disappears in a flash of light as Monica and Max
  shield their eyes.
  + When the light clears, Gaspard is lying on the ground in his natural form.
    - They run toward him and kneel beside him.
  + Monica:  (tearfully) Gaspard...
  + Gaspard: How sad...
             - (his body jerks) Unh... guess I won't be able... see your journey
               to its end...
             - When I see my mother again I'll tell her...
             - That at the end... I finally met you two...


> Gaspard turns his head and looks at Monica, then his head falls to the side
  and he closes his eyes.
  + Monica:  (sadly) Gaspard...


> Sparkling lights stream up from his body and the scene dissolves into light.
  + Suddenly the inside of the hut appears.
    - Gaspard, a child again, runs in through the door.
    - His mother is sitting beside the table.
  + Child Gaspard:  Hello, Mother! I'm home! (He sits at the table.)
                    Sorry, Mother... I... I couldn't find what you asked me to...
                    But guess what... I found these really weird guys...

> His voice and the picture fades. You hear his mother's voice say:

**   THE BRIDGE OF PAZNOS  **

> Walk down the ramp and step on the third floor Transmission Device (its the 
final
  piece of the Workshop).
  + Press [X] to go to Paznos Bridge.
  + Talk to Galen.
    - He tells you the counterattack should be starting soon.
    - He asks: Are you prepared?

> VIDEO: You see the bridge (this VIDEO is worth watching).
  + All hands on deck!! Preparing Paznos launch.
  + There are warning signals and the clamps holding Paznos retract.
  + Galen:  Paznos launch.

> You see the lift off, then a view through the forward screens.
  + Thousands of Golems are pounding toward you but they are on a level
    beneath Paznos.
  + Monica, Max and Galen gaze at the screen.
  + Monica:  What are those things?
  + Galen:   Those are the Golems in Griffon's control.
  + Max:     They're huge!
  + Galen:   Yes. Griffon destroyed a mountain and created a whole army of Golems.
             - They're a magical force to be reckoned with...
  + Monica:  What should we do?
  + Galen:   Don't worry. We'll make them taste the power of Paznos.

> Galen yells:
  + Ready the weapons!!
  + You see the outside of the ship.
    - Another view of the herds of Golem.
  + Monica:  Here they come!
  + One of the men say: Lord Agaris?
  + Galen:   Not yet. We have to lure them closer.

> Outside the ship again, you see the Golems climbing up to the floating Paznos.
  + Galen:   Now! FIRE!!!

> You see Paznos with blue flames coming out of its guns.
  + The herds of Golem are being pounded.

> One of the Men run up to Galen.
  + Man:     Lord Agaris! Elena has arrived.
  + Galen:   (walking up to a group of people including Elena) I hope you weren't
             hurt.
  + Elena:   No. It was tough going but the bombardment from Paznos saved us.

> Elena looks at Max who looks at her.
  + Max runs to his mother and hugs her.
  + She tells him: He's gotten so big and she is so happy to see him again.
    - "Me too," says Max.

> VIDEO continues: Max and his mother are on the top of Paznos looking at the 
moon.
  + She asks how is his father.
  + He tells her, he's fine and is sure he'd like to see her too.
  + When he asks her if she could come back, she says: Listen Max. This is the
    place where I have to be.
    - I'm from this time, not yours.
  + Max:    (indignant) But... even so, that's... That's... That's just selfish!
            - That's just.. so...
  + Elena:  Max...
  + Max:    (almost crying) If that's the case...I mean, if that's how things are
            then you shouldn't have come to my time in the first place!

> Max runs away and Elena says sadly: Max, I'm sorry... No one can exist in two
  separate times...


> Back on Paznos Bridge (still VIDEO):
  + Galen:   So you're both going?
  + Monica:  Yes. We got word from Luna Lab that Ixion was finished.
             - We're going to ride it to the distant past.
             - And we're going to find Griffon and do what needs to be done!

> Galen asks Max if he doesn't want to talk to Elena (NO).
  Galen tells them: We're counting on you to bring back the light to our world.

> VIDEO ends with Max at the train in Heim Rada Stop.

  + There is one picture (you can get it anytime) inside Paznos.
    - Go onto the Bridge (third floor).
    - Focus on a flower-like device in the top center of the window above the
      controls on the Bridge.

> Dr. Jaming (grandson) tells Max and Monica that they did have a little bit of
  trouble but Dr Nobb says they are rather proud of the end results.
  + Max:     (jumping up and down) This is so cool!
  + Monica:  Um... isn't it a little uh... gaudy?
  + Dr. Nobb: Well, now that you mention it... I guess you could say that.

> Professor Osmond comes up.
  + Osmond:  Hey, are you picking holes in my design? You just don't get it, do
             you?
  + Jaming:  He's in charge of design.
  + Osmond:  Listen. This train can travel through space and time. I just figured
             it should have a look that sets it apart, and matches its abilities,
             y'know.
  + Dr. Nobb: (sighs).
  + Max:     I think it looks cool.
  + Osmond:  Exactly. At least you understand.
  + Monica:  ... If it gets us ten thousand years in the past, that's all that
             matters.
  + Dr. Nobb: That won't be a problem.
  + Max:     Well then, let's go.
  + Jaming:  Be careful out there. He's a formidable enemy, that Griffon.

> When Max says it could be tough to operate the thing, Dr Nobb, says not to worry
  as Osmond will handle Ixion's controls.

> Max and Monica are inside the train amid all the bright colors.
  + Max is impressed but Monica thinks the inside is just as bad as the outside!
  + They arrive at the front of the train and sit down in seats behind Professor
    Osmond's.
  + Osmond:  All systems go.
  + Monica:  Well, I know there isn't a whole lot you can do about it now, but I
    don't think much of the design.
  + Osmond:  (a little annoyed) Hmm!
  + Monica:  (laughing) ...Ha Ha Ha! Just kidding! How about we get going?
  + Max:     (acting as if he's driving the train) Right. Let's go!
  + Osmond:  (raising his right hand) Get ready. To ten thousand years in the 
past!
             (He brings his hand down onto the controls).

> You see an outside view of the Lab (its colors are similar to those of the
  train ~~ You can see where Professor Osmond got his color scheme from!).
  + Wide doors open on the ocean side of the lab...
    - A piece of track appears on the water...
    - Another appears and joins with the first, but it slants upwards...
    - Then another extends the second...
  + There is a closeup of Ixion coming out onto the track.
    - It quickly gathers speed, speeds up the ramp and into the air...
    - A blue Time Gate appears in the sky and Ixion enters it...
    - Inside the engine, the seats are trembling...
    - All three of them groan loudly...
    - The whole scene shimmers then...
    - The screen is filled with waves of reds and blues, some mixing to purple,
      and forming a tunnel.
    - Ixion flashes through...
