Welcome to my walkthrough for this game.Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green is a new 
game.The graphics are
good but the pokemon are same.Be warned for this is a long game but very 
exciting.

Walkthrough

The game starts and the buttons and their functions are displayed.Then Prof. 
Oak gives his long
and boring speech.Then he asks for your's and your rival's name.I KEPT MY NAME 
AS MAANU AND MY RIVAL'S NAME AS GARY.
After this you are transported                                  ---------------

to pallet town.

First go to your PC and withdraw the potion.Trust me you are going to need 
it.Then go downstairs 
and talk to your mother.Exit the house and then go to the patch of grass in 
the north.Then
Prof.Oak will come and tell you that it is dangerous in the grass because of 
the wild pokemon.

Then he will take you to his lab and you will see your rival making a 
fuss.Prof.Oak will ask you to choose
your starting pokemon.

Your starting pokemon

--Bulbasaur  Level 5--
Evolving level:Lv 16-Ivysaur,Lv 34-Venasaur

Bulbasaur is a grass/poison type pokemon and should be chosen by beginners as 
it is the easiest pokemon to 
raise.It only has weaknesses to Gym no.5 and Gym.no7.

--Squirtle  Level 5--
Evolving level:Lv 16-Wartortle,Lv 36-Blastoise

Squirtle is a water type pokemon and should be chosen by players who have 
intermediate experience.It has weaknesses
against Gym no.2,3,4 and 6.

--Charmander Level 5--
Evolving level:Lv 16-Charmaleon,Lv 36-Charizard

Charmander is a fire type pokemon and should be chosen by experienced 
players.It only has an advantage against
Gym no.4.bit gets powerful afterwards.

I chose Squirtle because I just like using it.Your rival will choose the 
pokemon with an elemental
advantage.

Now as you attempt to leave the lab your rival will challenge you to a battle.

RIVAL BATTLE NO.1

Your rival's pokemon depend on the one which you chose.


This battle is not very tough.If your pokemon's HP gets too low use the potion 
I told you to withdraw from your PC.
After winning your pokemon goes to the next level and you get cash.
After this your rival will leave,and you should follow suit.Go to the area 
where Prof.Oak had stopped you and continue
onwards with your new pokemon.

Here you can get another potion.Just talk to the only guy there and he will 
give you a potion.As you do not have
any pokeballs you cannot capture any pokemon,but it would be good if you 
battled them for the EXP(experience).
Try to train it till at least Lv.8. You can see that they are ledges here but 
you cannot jump over them while
going up,but only while coming down.Keep going north until you reach Viridian 
City.

Well, first thing that you should do is go to the Pokemon Center.It is the 
white building with the red roof.
Go inside and talk to the pink-haired lady and she will heal your pokemon's 
HP,PP and status problems all for free!!
If you go to the top floor you can do stuff like trading and battling.You need 
a wireless adaptor for this.
On the bottom floor on the top right hand corner you will see a PC.In this you 
can store and withdraw items and
pokemon.

Exit the pokemon center after healing your pokemon and go to the north-eastern 
corner of the city to the mart.
The salesman will talk to you and tell you to deliver a parcel to Prof.Oak.Now 
dont think you can scam this parcel 
because you have to deliver it.Go back to Pallet Town.For a faster route jump 
over the ledges if you want to
or continue to train your pokemon.

Here go to the lab and deliver Oak's parcel.Then your rival will come and 
Prof.Oak will give you your pokedex.A device
that records information about pokemon.Oak will also give you 5 pokeballs.
Now head back to Viridian City and on your way capture some pokemon.

Pokemart Items |   North of this city was an old dude blocking your path who 
has moved now and that is Route 2.
               |   But now you should buy some items from the mart.Buy some 
antidotes and parlyz heals.You can
Pokeball       |   also buy some more pokeballs.After this go west of this 
town to Route 22.You cannot access
Antidote       |   the gym in this city right now.

On this route you get some interesting pokemon like Spearow and Mankey.But 
firdt as you enter this route go up the narrow
path and get the potion.Go to the tall grass and then head west and then you 
will be greeted by an unpleasant person,
your rival.He will talk to you for some time and then battle you.

RIVAL BATTLE NO.2

Pidgey lv.9                 Squirtle lv.9
Starter lv.9                Mankey lv.8


This battle is tougher than the last one and his starter has learnt the move 
which has an advantage against your starter.
Use your potion if you have to because if you lose,you will lose a lot of your 
money.
You can fight him over and over again for EXP.
After this heal at the pokemon center in Viridian City and head north towards 
Route 2.

Route 2 is not very interesting.You might capture some more bug pokemon here 
but they are not easy to find.If you
want them very badly then no need to worry you will get lots ahead.You will 
see pokeballs here but you cannot get
the right now.Just go into the building in the north.Talk to the people if you 
want to and continue north.

                                                  Viridian Forest

In this area you can catch a lot of bug pokemon like Weedle and Caterpie.If 
you started with Charmander or Squirtle
then in my opinion you should catch a Pikachu which is a rare pokemon.You will 
also find cocoon pokemon
like Kakuna and Metapod which are the best for training weak pokemon as they 
cannot attack.

This forest is kinda like a maze and is not very tough.You will face 3 
trainers in this forest and you can avoid 2
of them but I reckon you should battle them for the EXP.The last one is not 
very easy as he has a Weedle at Level 9
which can poison your pokemon.If this happens then you can use your 
antidotes.Overall this is a not a very tough battle.
Now exit the forest by going north into the building.You should have at least 
5 pokemon by now.

Pokemart items|        You will find new stuff here like the Escape Rope which 
is a very handy thing if you want to
              |        escape from a cave.Awakening is a thing which awakens a 
sleeping pokemon.Duh.You should buy 
Pokeball      |        an Escape Rope,a few potions and more pokeballs if you 
can afford it.
Potion        |        Now what should we do?Battle the Gym Leader?No way!!You 
should first heal at the Pokemon Center.  
Escape Rope   |        You will see there is a big building at the top of the 
city.This is the museum and you do not 
Antidote      |        need to visit it right now.Just go to the Gym.
Parlyz Heal   |
Burn Heal     |
Awakening     |

As you enter the place you will see a person standing there,he mostly gives 
you advice.You can skip the other 
trainer standing there if you want to and battle Gym Leader Brock!!!

This battle mainly depends on your starting pokemon.If you chose a Bulbasaur 
or a Squirtle you can whopp him 
by using your elemental attacks like water gun or vine whip.
If you chose Charmander the you might have a problem.
The best solution is to evolve it into a Charmaleon and use Metal Claw which 
is quite effective.Watch out for Onix's
Rock Tomb which is super effective!!If it takes you more than once to defeat 
him with a Charmander,dont feel guilty but
if it takes you more than once with the others,you are a complete DODO!!!  
After you defeat him you get the BOULDER BADGE.

Now prepare to head to Mt.Moon and make sure you have a lot of items with you 
unless you want to become dead meat.

                                                    Route 3

-------------------------------------------

Now time for some new pokemon!You can get Nidoran and Jigglypuff here.Nidoran 
is pretty good and Jigglypuff is okay.
You can also get a Spearow here.Do not train your bug and grass pokemon here 
as the pokemon here have an advantage
against yours.Route 3 leads to Mt.Moon.As you enter this route you meet one of 
Prof.Oak aides who gives you the 
important running shoes which help you to run fast by pressing 'B'.To pass 
this route you need to battle some trainers.
You can avoid these trainers but I think you should battle them for EXP.

Route 3 leads on to Route 4.Go north and you will find a Pokemon Center.Heal 
your pokemon here.There is a man in the 
north-western corner of the room who will sell you a Magikarp for 500$.Not a 
very good deal,but you can get tons more
afterwards.Exit the center and go right into the cave.

                                                    Mt.Moon

There are new pokemon here and a lot of trainer battles.You get a lot of 
Zubats and other pokemon like Geodude and 
Sandshrew.If you are lucky you can get your hands on a Clefairy.Here is the 
shortest and fastest way to get through the
cave.
Go north and then right.Do not go into the ladder.Battle with the lass and 
then go north battle with another lass and
continue west and then south.Do not go into the ladder but battle the bug 
catcher.After this go north and into the ladder 
you will see a Team Rocket Grunt,battle him and then go up the other 
staircase.Then go down,left and then top.Here 
you will battle another Grunt.After him go north and battle the freak to get a 
fossil.He has a Grimer,a Voltorb and 
a Koffing all at Lv.12.After this he will let you choose a fossil.You should 
choose the Dome Fossil  as it will get you
a Kabuto.After this go west and then south,go through the ladders to exit the 
cave.
