MisSion # 1

The Game, is going to show you 2 important items,
red orbs and white orbs. White orbs can be spent for
upgrades at the upgrade shop.Red orbs are used,
To buy consumables Health upgrades and more.

Your also going to be introduced to basic and
heavy attacks.Press appropriate buttons depending on
which console your playing on.These attacks will be
shown inputs on screen, just follow the prompts.

After taking out a bunch of the Lesser Stygian enemies.
A woman will call out to Dante, Run north and jump you will
see your guns.The world around Dante will begin to collapse.
Press the appropriate button to jump dodge and more.

Jump into your trusty guns to unlock them. Ebony & Ivory.
Use the X button or Square button to shoot them.
Take out the remaining Less Stygian's around Dante with
Both Rebellion & Ebony & Ivory !

Watch the cutscene, you will meet a psyhic named Kat.
After the Cut scene you will be playing again.
Run up ahead and encounter a LOST SOUL.Use melee attacks
on them to free them.They will increase your games
completion bonus.

Run Towards the ferris wheel of death, meet more Lesser
Stygian's.Learn to tap the B or X button to launch enemies
into the air.You Will probably gain an upgrade point here.
When the bar is full,you gain an upgrade point. These can
be used to unlock new moves and ablities.

Kill all of the lesser Stygian enemies,this will open up
the path way.Run straight ahead and collect a Gold orb,
which is an extra life.See ORBS section of this guide
for complete location list and more information.

After collecting the gold orb,run up ahead and watch the
cut scene of a giant gross monster, grab your coat back.
Do battle with some more Lesser Stygians.
Then get ready For battle with the beast.

Fire like mad at him with ebony and ivory. Kat comes to
show you an escape route. In the escape route, run ahead
breaking pots and dodge hands along the way. You may come
across a copper key door, but we will save that for later.

Keep running through until you literally see a sign that
says STOP.You will fight some more puppet enemies.
After they are done the path will open.Avoid the spining
bladed cogs. Then go through the EXIT and watch the cutscene.

After cut scene, head for the rift. Keep running until Kat
appears again. Get ready to battle a HUNTER.

                        BoSS # 1 HuNTeR
                      +++++++++++++++++++

In MisSioN # 1 you will have Rebellion and ebony and ivory only.
You must attack the Hunter's face to do damage.
Hack at him with Rebellion. When he climbs,
shoot him down with Ebony & Ivory. Once he falls to the ground
use a stinger strike on him, hacker combo and especially
DEATH COIL.

. Get The Arbiter .
-------------------

Start off heading directly straight all the way down
the hallway.

After the cut scene, break some flesh piles, for some
red orbs. Head up the stairway, then head right. You
will see a divinity statue.

From the statue,head left and you will encounter a
break in the action. Watch the cut scene or if this
is your second play-through skip it and move on.

After the cut scene will be a battle.

After the battle, look at the picture of Sparda. Dante
will acquire the ARBITER the Ax weapon.

.   Ghost Children   .
----------------------

Head LEFT of the picture of Sparda and go through the
doorway. The floor will move and reveal two openings.

For now, drop down the hole. Jump up high and smash
the flesh pods for some red orbs. Run straight ahead
past a red glowing orb on the ground, go through the
door on the right.

You will pass a some spiders on
the ground, kill them. Jump up past the broken platforms
that have formed a stairway, then do battle.

In this center ball like hall room. Make your first
right up the stairs. You should see a glowing red
demonic door. Use the newly acquired ARBITER Ax
on the door to open it up.

In this hall way, you will see some ghost like kids.
Follow them and once they dissappear, hook to the
room on the left. This will be another battle room.

After the battle, will be a cut scene.

.Memory Sequence 1.
-------------------

Once inside the sequence, head straight, then
jump across the platform. You will acquire the
Ophion whip.

Dante will latch onto the first floating piece
of ruin via cinematic.

Head straight ahead to a broken roundabout stairway
and latch onto the 2nd piece of ruin using the whip.
Bring it towards Dante then jump on top of it. Jump
two more pieces of ruin, then reach a much larger
area, of brownish red color and design.

Latch onto the next glowing red orb to drag the
ruin to Dante, then the next. Run a bit more and
pull the next piece of path out of the building
on the RIGHT.

Platform or double jump across two more gaps.
You will do some battle here.

Finally platform over 3 more path stones. You
will then reach the giant statue and its stone.
Break the stone to end the memory sequence.

-------------------------
. Back to Limbo Mansion .
-------------------------

You come back in control of Dante in the mansion.
exit the room and jump down to the lower floor below.
Head straight into the only availible passage.

The area will begin to shift. There seems to be
no available path for Dante.

Take out the Ophion whip and latch onto the
red orbs, like in the memory seqeunce. This
will form paths of blockage for Dante to cross.

At the end of the hallway you will come to a red
door. Use the ARBITER and break open the door.

Go inside and listen to the sound, follow her voice.
You will be back in the center roundabout room
from earlier. Have another battle sequence here.

Continue to follow the women's voice and her
ghost figure. Go up the now broken stairway then
break open another red door with the ARBITER.
You will then reach a divinity statue.

From the divinity statue head straight then
make your first left to a large show room of
sorts. It has a red carpet and a large painting
of a women on the LEFT side of the wall.

Go inside and walk near the picture for a
cutscene. A Battle will begin.

After the fight, run back from where we came in
past the divinity statue. Once your back outside
you will see the ghost. The building will shift
and you must traverse the platforms.

Latch onto the red orbs with the whip until
you reach the red Arbiter door, Break it
with the Arbiter. Run ahead and enter the
library room. On the floor will be  a shiny
blue object, go near it and pick it up.

. Memory Sequence 2.
--------------------

Walk into the sequence and you will gain the
ANGEL-LIFT ability. - see opihion whip -

Begin latching on the BLUE orbs on the walls.
You can now pull Dante towards them. Do this
across 5 platforms.

Once you reach the other stairway, use it
again to latch Dante towards an enemy. Latch
onto the enemies here to test it out. Then
destroy them all.

Continue onward latching onto the blue orbs in
the sequence. After the last one, break the stone
that the statue is chained too. You will then wake
out of the sequence.

After the sequence will be a nice battle scene.
After the battle take the center door way path.
Dante will pick up a picture of his family.

After the cut scene, head down the stairs. Latch
and ANGEL-LIFT accross the gaps. Make your way
to a long hallway that is started to collapse in.
Head for the door way and there will be a cut scene.
Shortly after the mission will end.

 MisSion  # 3

Nasty Chainsaw Demon
----------------------
This bad boy will literally cut through the wall then go for Dante's
head.Be careful,but be cool most importantly.He is suceptible to
Hightime/Rebellion basic combos.Don't worry to much as his HP is low
at this part of the game as well.

After chainsaw is done,Kat will come up from the real world.The path
will be broken and more Stygians will appear.Take them down using known
tactics for now.Once they are all taken care of make your way through
the Black oze door.

Start grappling and platforming your way across until you see a blue light.
It is another Blue Rose,go towards it.Enter the dream world again.Air
dash across each platform.

Continue onward using all known platforming abilities to perfect them.
Cross the gaps.Once you reach the breakable stone you will wake up.

Take care of the Shielded Bathos enemies.Then drop to the ground for
more battle.Once all enemies are defeated the door will open.

Go through the passageway.Use your newly acquired air boost ability.
Cross the gaps and you will come to another cut scene.

 MiSSion # 4

Start off following Kat and grapple the giant eye ball.Battle
with the stygians.Latch and air lift your way across. Watch the
cut scene.

Run through the alley ways.You will come across a demonic shard
eventually.Shoot them, then take the short stairway down.Encounter
A new enemy,the SHIELDED PATHOS.

Shielded Pathos
---------------
These Shielded Pathos,have much more HP then thier demonic brethern.
Thier shields are stronger,they can shoot unholy light beams
at Dante and they are hard in general.

                                FROST KNIGHT
                                ------------

First off,these guys can FREZZE Dante.They also have light physics
and can be tossed around easily.This leaves them open to chains
with EBONY & IVORY.HIGHTIME attacks followed up by HACKER or light
ARBITER power attacks also work well.

After the battle make your way to another blue door.
Go through it.Dante will run into a copper key door nearby.
Use your copper key and complete the mission.See Copper key
section for more deatils in this FAQ/Strategy Guide.

After the copper door make your way through the city grappling.
Destroy the cameras along the way.Press RT + X.To destroy cameras.

Once KAT pops back up watch the cut scene.Continue platforming and
taking out the cameras with the OPHION WHIP until the next battle.

KILL DANTE,will appear on the city walls.Time for more trouble.
BATHOS,PATHOS,STYGIAN'S and more await Dante.Take them down.
Keep heading straight ahead until the world begins to shift.

What these guys have in power they lack in speed and hit points.
Rebellion works good enough VS these guys.Defeat the Tyrant.Kat,
appears again,the path way is now open. Control Dante through the
grappling sections and escape.

 MiSsiOn # 5

Follow Kat.Once she places the glyph you will be back in Limbo.
Start platforming across the signs and grates.Do so until you
reach the HELL KNIGHT.

HELL KNIGHT
-----------
Hell Knights,will explode fire around a large radius.This can
do a nice amount of damage to Dante.Although they are taken out
very much like there cousins.The Arbiter works great here as
most usual for breaking shield defenses of the Hell Knight.

2x Tyrant
-----------
After the Hell Knight,Two Tyrant will appear.Use the same tactics
as last time.Once defeated the path will open.Hit some breakables
for some green orbs much needed at this point.

Frost Knight + Hell Knight
--------------------------
Some enemies can hurt each other.Such as the latter enemy types.
Hell knights fire attack can do massive damage to ice knight.
Just know this especially at the games harder diffculties.
After you take out the 2 knights demonic Shards will begin to appear.
Once again shoot at them with Ebony & Ivory to take them out.

Make your way to the blue door.Melee attack it with OSIRIS.
Go through and break the skin for some red orbs.
Then continue down the hallways.

Make your first right.You should see some yellow growth or vines.
Follow them into another knight enemy and take him down.
Keep following the Oozing yellow lines.You will come to An Arbiter door.
Use the Arbiter to open it then take out the nearby knight enemy.

Continue down the ooze infested hallways.You should reach a divinity
statue.Upgrade your weapons and items here or buy some consumables.
Shortly after you will find the virility core area.
Watch the cut scene.

After the cut scene, there will be a HUGE battle.Just about every
dangerous enemy from Mission 4 until now.If you are having a hard
time with an enemy. Refer to the ENEMY section of this guide/FAQ.
After the battles, Mission 5 will get a COMPLETE.

MiSsiOn # 6

After the cutscene Dante will fall down a huge hole.A timer will
be at 1:45 seconds or close to it.You have to make your way to
the end before the timer hits zero.This section will have us
using the following skills we learned earlier.

- Angel Lift
- Angel Boost
- Ophion Whip

Another Cut scene after the platforming area.Dante is now in a much
smaller area.Use the Divinity statue for SURE.Also be aware of
the doors that need keys in this area for later.The 2nd boss is
comming up finally.

Go for her hands/ nails.Avoid Vomit attack by using grappling
points/angel boost.The Vomit attack covers a huge area and is
probably the most dangerous move she has.

She also has a nasty tremor move that can be dodged by jumping.
Her Claw swipe is quick and can put out some Dante Damage.
After each health bar is gone,your going to have to grapple.
Grapple on to her and rip off a part of her body.

Use rebellion as it is probably the quickest weapon at this
point and you will need to be fast.Note this tactic may change
for harder modes or in the futre.

Near the end of the battle, The Succubus will do a massive vomit
attack that will auto kill dante.You must get her with a grapple
from OPHION WHIP or you will die.After the battle you will unlock
A new weapon so enjoy !

Mission # 7
*********************************************

Jump the platforms,Then equip ERYX.These are the fist weapons.
Use them to break through the red door.Follow on screen button
information for proper usage.ERYX can break through certain floors.

Take out the Tyrants and Hell Knights to open up the door.
You will see a sign that says Central Penetential.

Grapple across the platforms until you reach the next cut scene.
You will now be able to ANGEL BOOST!BOOST through rings with,
the Angel- booost ability.Do so to reach the next area.

Continue doing this until you get to the next battle scene.
Complete the battle.Then work your way foward.The checkpoint
for this guide will be the next new enemy.

: NEW ENEMY :

                        --------------
                             RAGE
                        --------------

These are some bad demons.They remind me of the Shadow Cat's In DMC.
They are actually quite similar to them in combat as well.At this point
in the game they are easy enough to deal with due to their low energy or
hit points.

Smash through the next red crystal on the floor.This will let you
know your in the right area.Down under the floor will be another
key door,access it if you have the key.If not continue to do
battle with Some more RAGE enemies.

Shortly after there will be a divinity statue.Use it,then grapple
out of the room to a bridge area.Try and cross the bridge and a cut
scene will ensue.

HARPY
-------------
You will see an old man fighting off some Harpy's.Go to the
location and do battle with the new enemy.Harpy's get hurt,
and stunned constantly if you continue firing Ebony & Ivory
at them.

The Ophion whip is useless as the Harpy will dodge it due to,
their quick evasive manuevers.Best advice is to stick with Ebony & Ivory
to stun them.Then use a weapon throw to finish them off.After they are gone,
watch the cut scene with the old man.This will complete the mission.

MisSioN # 8

Start the mission, and grapple everything to find a wall
that moves so you can reach the next passage. COME CLOSER
sounds and signs will appear so you know your going the right way.

Follow them and dodge the nasty train often. After the train
comes at Dante in the subway railroad a bigger battle will begin.
Frost knights, Hell knights will be here so take them out. See
enemy section for details.

Make your way through the subway, once you start seeing some
red lights continue to follow them all the way to the divinity
statue.

Continue on straight ahead from here, and pick up the eye relic.
You will be ambushed by Mostly Harpy's. Take them down using enemy
tactics. Remember thier long range attacks must be evaded, as Harpy's
are very powerful.

Now begin to work your way to the other half of the sub way. Look
for GREEN lights. There will be a few rage enemies and then after
those guys a Tyrant or two. Killing the Tyrant horde will open the
pathway. Use Osiris to smash open the blue door.

Tricky blue door
----------------

There is a grappling point nearby this blue Osiris crystal door.
If your having trouble, use grapple/ angel boost then start
attacking the door in mid air with Osiris.

Go through the Blue door and give the eye to the man. He will be
able to see again. Listen to the conversation/ cut scene. This
will complete the mission # 8.

MiSSiON # 9
*************************************************
*****************

Cut through the red and blue doors with the appropriate weaponry.
Afterwards you will run into the demon man again. Listen to the
conversation, then continue onward.

Jump down from where the demon is standing, then land on each
platform until you get to a new enemy.

: NEW ENEMY :

WITCH
---------

+ First I would like to say, they did a great graphical
and sound effect job on this enemy. +

++ The Witches forcefield can NOT be penetrarted By Eryx.
Although Osiris will work, so you know what to do. ++

+++ Witches, will launch lances at Dante for low damage.
they also will cause earth quakes that release spiked debris
from the ground. +++

After the Witch battle, fly through the air and pick up a
mysterious item via Angel boost. This will bring you back
to the dream area from earlier missions. Go ahead and break
the stone. Watch the cut scene. After it you will have gained
the Devil Trigger Ability.

Try out your new ability, then come back to Limbo. Do battle
with some nasties. Witches, rages and chain saws. See enemy
section for tactics on each.

Once you reach the end of the level, meet the Demon Man again.
He has some interesting news.

Make your way along the long tracking, until the next cut scene.
Use the grapple points and continue dodging the giant beams all
the while.

Dante will end up on the news channel and meet with Bob Barbas
the news caster.

This BosS, shoots out crazy energy fields of all types at Dante.
It is a wild graphical battle, and an overall classic boss battle
if there ever was one.

Bob Barbas:+

Warp - This will bring Dante into battle with other enemies.
Defeat all of the enemies to escape.

Energy Fields - Getting hit by these will cause at least 1 health
bar of damage on normal. Bob Barbas shoots a ton of these early on
and they are difficult to dodge.

To Dodge the fields, make sure to go through the YELLOW box or
portal it is the only safe escape.

Light Blast - Blue lines of energy and sound will come from the
mouth of Barbas, doing MASSIVE damage to Dante. Avoid them by
dodge/ jump at all costs.

*** After Each energy bar,Bob Barbas uses he will throw the
"warp"The warp bring's you to TV as a wanted terrorist.
Once again escape the warp by defeating all of the enemies,
or surviving the allotted  time limit.

() Doing Damage to Bob Barbas is difficult with
all that is going on in the battle. ()

() Although, it is a simplfied concept. Bust all the crystals with
the Eryx fist weapons. This will lower his defenses. Then go up
to the Holographic face and attack. Once his bar is fully down,
he will "warp" Dante. ()

() At the End of the battle Dante, will shoot Bob Barbas with Ebony
and Ivory killing him ()

() Dante will also gain the Aquila weapons. A Shiruken. ()

MiSsiOn # 11

: NEW ENEMY :

----------------
BUTCHER
----------------

Take out the Butcher enemies among the others. After the battle
we will learn how to launch our Aquilla weapon at distant crystal
doors to open them. The first one is right after this Butcher enemy.
Stand on the ledge across and toss the Aquilla's.

ROUND TRIP :

A Chrage move with the Aquilla's Use it to take down Witches shields.
Afterward follow up with a series of attacks like HACKER.

Wait for the "police" to open up doors. We are continuing our
search for Kat. Follow the voices and signs along the way destroying
the demons that inhabit this Limbo of the Order.

Move Dante all along the way until you reach a room or library.
There will be a ton of books and book shelves. Head for the door
but it will be closed or locked, due to enemies.

-------------------
Enemy Name : UNKNOWN
--------------------

These enemies phase through dimensions. They are extremeley fast
and pack a punch as well. They dual wield Katanas and they are
out for Dante.

Eryx works nice against them due to its brute force that can
break through there sword block, which is not as defensive as
a shield. This is probably the only if not one of weaknesses
of this enemy.

After the battle, the unknown enemy will phase out. The Door
will be open and you will talk to Kat. This will compete the
mission.

MisSion # 12
*************
********************************

Take Kat's advice and bring the roof down. Every where she
sprays use the Ophion whip on it.

The Trick is your going to have to use TIMING often. Make
sure you drop your attacks at the right time, or you will
die or fail the mission.

After several scenes in black and white, you will see Vergil.
Your going to also encounter a Bladed Butcher. Take him down.

------------
Breaking through
-----------------

As the name implies, we have to stop the enemy attack. So
once again destroy all with Dante.

- Butchers
- Bladed Butchers
- Chainsaws

Your going to be dealing with these enemies all at once. Use
all your abilities and hopefully if your still having trouble,
You may want to pick up more life meter. Also vital stars could
be very useful here too.

-------------
RAGE SPAWN
-------------

This enemy is a rage spawn, best taken out with the sweet quick
multi attacking Aquilla's. Use them fast and take out the
rage spawn.

 a New Gun... ! FINALLY !
=========================

After the rage spawn is gone, Vergil will pass onto dante via slide
the REVENANT shotgun. SEE weapons/guns section for details and
in-depth tactics on the weapon.

Shortly after you will be TRAPPED. Ample time to test out the
new shotgun though. Use it as it has nice spread damage.
Works good againstRage spawns.
and pushes and knocks back enemies. A Great Crowd
controller when combined with the Scythe or Osiris.

Finally after 2 more RAGE enemies and not the normal kind these
will be HUGE rage enemies. After taking them down, watch the cutscene
which is very emotional. This will complete the mission.

MisSion # 13
*************
********************************

This is a strong battle area. Just about the entire mission is
battling with a big catch. The Floor will change from demonic
to Angelic. Your going to have to HOLD bumper buttons and alternate
between them, to not take damage or die.

Lilth is the objective here. She is going to constantly throw
enemies at Dante. There will be 5 rounds of surviving enemy
encounters to go through. Round 5 will bring back the UNKNOWN
enemies from the previous mission.

After Round 5 things ease up a bit, at the very end you will
do battle with some Rage enemies, just Aquilla them to death.

+ This is actually Lilth. This enemy has 2 bars. To actually

This is a really short mission, most of it is cut scenes.
Main objective is to keep moving the car Vergil and kat are in.
The Vehicle will stop in time, but Dante has to pave ways for it.

If your good with the Ophion whip and grappling/platforming aspects
of the game, you should have no problem. There are also very few
battles and nothing to difficult. The mission will end after the
highway is taken down by Dante.

This is a pure battle level, compared to the previous platforming one.
A nice switch up. Your going to be doing battle with everything we faced
earlier and more of them.

The good thing is, we have more health now and a much larger arsenal
of moves,combos,skills,devil trigger,guns,weapons, you get the point?
So its going to be FUN !

Just work your way all the way up the building, cleaning out floor
after floor. Towards the End you will Pick up the Kablooey ! Another
new gun which fires explosive needles. They can also be manually
detonated. See guns section for tactics and in depth details.

Note that towards the end of this level will be some HUGE bad guys.
An advanced tip given in the game is that using 4 needles with
Kablooey you can STOP enemy ENRAGE states. This is very useful to
keeping Dante alive in the last few battles of this stage.

Platforming/Battle combined level. With a new twist. There will be
platforms to traverse, the problem ? Fire will be rising from them
so your going to have to be patient and time your jumps.

devil trigger.

At the End of the level is a very rough long stretch, of platform
elements to take down. Just a heads up, that you may fall and die
here often. The flames will still be rising as well.

Best advice for first playthrough : Have the Following

=3x Vital Stars
=Have collected at least 3 Crosses to increase life gauge of
=Dante.
=Use Devil trigger as MUCH as possible.
=Have plenty of practice with the Whip/ grapple.

This is a rough battle even on the games normal mode. So you can always
go back to other levels and collect red orbs. This will give you the time
to collect more items, such as vital stars to heal/power up Dante.
This will increase odds of success vs the evil yet mighty Mundus.

 Death Knights are shielded demons, as they carry a large rounded gold
shield. This deflects many of Dante's attacks. It can NOT even be
penetrated with STINGER. Although if you get under them using a skill
such as HIGHTIME, you can then break thier defense and chain attacks
on Death Knights, in the air. Finish them off with HELMBREAKER.

*Death Knights are also susceptible to thier shields being SMASHED
by the Arbiter Axe.

**The Ophion Whip, can stun Death Knight shield blocks, leaving them
open to be grappled toward Dante, then chain attacked.

 You can break thier shields with the Arbiter, although it is more
challenging because they are airborne. Latch onto them first with

 Dante, can also reflect back the shielded bathos, projectile
attacks with OSIRIS. Press and hold LT + B at the proper time.

and can be tossed around easily. This leaves them open to chains
with Ebony & Ivory, HIGHTIME attacks followed up by hacker or Light

Hell Knights, will explode fire around a large radius. This can
do a nice amount of damage to Dante. Although they are taken out
very much like thier brethern. The Arbiter works great here as

Hunter holds, a very large dagger in his right hand.
He will leap into the air, and swipe it down with a

The ground slam is your cliche earthquake move. Hunter

or area of effect damage.

This is the hardest attack to dodge, and in Nephilim

Your going to have to get used to timing and evading.
That is about the best advice, is practice.
It stops after about 4-5 turns of spinining wildly

- After Each health bar is gone, your going to have to

point and you will need to be fast. Note this tactic may change
for harder modes or in the futre.

- Near the end of the battle, she will do a massive vomit
attack that will auto kill dante. You must get her with a grapple
from ophion whip or you will die.
