Not-so-hot electronica music instead of progressive rock music 2. Doubles partner A.I. does not always want to win 3. Lob shots [X Button] are rather useless 4. Unable to change apparel/rackets for Tournament and Exhibition games 5. Unable to play against King/Queen if playing as King and/or Queen ______________________________ |\_____________________________\ | | Asked Questions: | |/¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Q. ARE MASTER AND KING IN THE GAME? A. MASTER is not, but King sure is, and so is his lover, Queen. Both of them are extremely brutal (and quick). To play against them, you must go through every round without losing a match (losing a game is okay). To put it simply, you can only get up to them if you win every match without continuing at all. As you may have guessed, doing so with a male, single player will put you up against King, and doing so with a female, single player will put you up against Queen. Q. I BEAT THE GAME AND GOT KING AND QUEEN, BUT THEY SUCK! WHY? A. Upon first beating the them, you acquire them as secret characters: King and Queen. However, both characters will be on LV. 1. Every time you beat King and/or Queen after that, their level will go up by one (no matter what difficulty level). Q. ARE THERE HIDDEN RACKETS LIKE THE BOWLING PIN FROM VIRTUA TENNIS? A. Yes, actually, the bowling pin is one of them! All you need to do is play a training mode until you run out of vomit (might take all day) and you'll eventually be rewarded for selling your soul. Q. WHAT ARE ANNA KOURNIKOVA'S STATS? I WANT TO CREATE HER AS A PLAYER. A. You're not alone. (NOTE: This is from Anna Kournikova's OFFICIAL Web site): · Birthdate: June 7, 1981 · Birthplace: Moscow, Russia · Residence: Miami, Florida, USA · Height: 5'8¼" (1.73 m) · Weight: 123lbs (56kg) · Plays: Right-handed (two-handed backhand) · Status: Pro (October 1995) No, she's not married. Q. Asked first by James: WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO TO GET MORE STUFF IN THE SHOP OR OPEN UP OTHER SHOPS? A. All you need to do is play more matches. You dont even need to buy everything in an existing tennis shop to open a new one. From my experience, Ive always found shops to open after winning some matches LV. 2 and higher. Unfortunately, shops don't alter their inventories as you progress, so keep an eye out for new locations. There are five shops total: CARIBOU, EQUATOR, ICEBERG, NOMAD, and STATUE. The rackets listed from the above section are categorized in shop order from top to bottom. Q. Asked first by actor317: WHAT TIME DO I NEED TO CLEAR A TRAINING EXERCISE TO GET ITS HIDDEN RACKET? A. I don't have an absolute answer for this one; however, I know it's different from VIRTUA TENNIS (before the time limit numbers turn red). Of course, not every Training Mode has a time limit. For the ones that do, you may have to complete the exercise with over five (I had no idea what times I got since I was aiming for building levels, not for getting rackets.), and if not five, then ten seconds remaining. Keep in mind that the Training Mode must be on LV. 4 in order to get its hidden racket. So basically, my guesses are: · DISC SHOOTER: Finish with five or more balls remaining · PIN CRASHER: Finish with a score of 110 · STOMP MAN: Get all cans · ALIEN FORCE: Finish with five or more seconds remaining · PRIZE SNIPER: Finish with a score of 10,000 points or more · DANGER FLAGS: Get all flags without getting hit · TANK ATTACK: Finish with five or more seconds remaining · BULL'S EYE: Finish with a score of 12,000 points or more Q. Asked first by Fuchs ([email protected]): DOES IT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE IF I WEAR A SHOE THAT IS GOOD FOR CARPET WHILE PLAYING ON A CARPET COURT? IS IT BAD IF I WEAR A SHOE THAT'S GOOD FOR CARPET WHILE PLAYING ON A GRASS COURT? A. I have yet to notice a significant difference with the surface-specific shoes. I usually keep the FOR CARPET shoes on just for playing against King and Queen in EXHIBITION mode. Again, I don't see how it helps, but if it's "FOR CARPET," then it's for carpet; and neither of my created players have broken ankles from wearing FOR CARPET shoes on a clay surface, so whatever. Q. Asked first by Dan "TO THE MAX!!!" Smafield ([email protected]): WHAT DOES YOUR SECTION 'NO THANKS' MEAN? THAT IS CONFUSING TO SOMEONE WITH AS LOW OF AN INTELLIGENCE AS I. A. Uh, thanks... The NO THANKS section is for the people who I would rather not give thanks to regarding TENNIS 2K2. Pieter Tinbergen, quite possibly the worst player from VIRTUA TENNIS, gets no thanks just because he was the worst player in VIRTUA TENNIS. No thanks to the people that tested this game. They obviously didnt spend enough time doing so. Whats with not always being able to play with both VMU players in a doubles match? Theres often a players cursor that just moves past the VMU icon. So, you have to sometimes start a doubles game with computers using your VMU characters, and have the other player(s) JUMP INTO THE GAME. Why didnt those damn game testers figure that out? And how the hell could they have told the programmers theyre happy with the way lobs work? And... no thanks to Hitmaker for listening to the game testers. Q. Asked first by Paul Hayat: ARE YOU PLANNING TO PUT A GAME SAVE ON gamefaqs.com WITH EVERYTHING UNLOCKED, AND POSSIBLY SOME REAL TENNIS PLAYER CREATIONS? A. I never plan on anything. Sadly, I have a modemless, Asian Dreamcast (HKT-3010), so I'd have to coerce my friend into letting me use his Dreamcast for a second or two (which wouldn't be difficult). I'll say I don't have the time to create a slew of real tennis players, but I wouldn't upload a save anyway. I'd rather not be responsible for people not getting their $39.99 (read: eternal frustration) of smashing (their heads from failed trainings) tennis balls, leading to victory. ==================================================================================== = If you would like to have your question(s) answered, just e-mail [email protected] with your question!
