To this end, a powerful group of demon lords known as the Lesser Evils exiled their brethren, the Prime Evils, from the Hells and sent them to the human world of Sanctuary. War came with them. The Prime Evils â Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal â began corrupting humans, twisting them into dark servants, and poisoning their minds with false promises of power and wealth. They planned to use these souls in their ongoing battle against the angels of the High Heavens. Brave heroes banded together and managed to slay the Prime Evils, though the demonsâ influence left parts of the world scarred and broken. Thousands of people perished, towns were burned to ash, and an entire nation fell to ruin when the Worldstone was destroyed. This ancient relic once kept Sanctuary safe from the armies of demons and angels, but it has been shattered, and its protection is no more. Today, few survivors tell tales of the Prime Evils, and many people on Sanctuary are unaware that the Worldstone ever existed. They remain ignorant of the growing danger that the Worldstoneâs absence places them in, content to till their fields and sell their wares in relative peace. But those who saw the Prime Evilsâ devastation firsthand remember that two of the Lesser Evils yet live in the Burning Hellsâ¦Azmodan, the Lord of Sin, and Belial, the Lord of Lies. These great demons have not forgotten the world of Sanctuaryâindeed, they see a chance to seize it for themselves. Now, a star has fallen from the heavensâa grim omen that heralds the End of Days. Sanctuaryâs frightened inhabitants are turning to abandoned legends and prophecies for answers. They have no hope against a full onslaught from the Burning Hells. The heroes of the past are gone or dead. A new champion must rise⦠________________________________ |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| =======================| |======================= | Basics | [0200] =======================| |======================= |________________________________| ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Controls ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| | Default Key | Command | |=============|====================| | Left Mouse | Move | | | Primary Skill | | Right Mouse | Secondary Skill | | Shift | Stand Still | | 1 | Action Bar Skill 1 | | 2 | Action Bar Skill 2 | | 3 | Action Bar Skill 3 | | 4 | Action Bar Skill 4 | | Q | Potion | | G | Banner | | T | Summon Town Portal | | I | Inventory | | S | Skills | | J | Quests | | L | Journal | | F | Follower | | Y | Achievements | | Tab | Map | | Z | Zoom | | V | Show Monster HP | | D | Show Player HP | | Alt | Show Dropped Items | | Ctrl | Show Tooltips | |_____________|____________________| Checkpoints and Dying ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Diablo III doesn't save the game when you exit. Instead it relies on crucial checkpoints of the quest that you are on. You'll notice often that you reach a checkpoint, and the game "saves" your progress. When you die you will have the option to return to revive at your most recent checkpoint and receive a 10% durability hit. Health Globes and Potions ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Like many other games you can heal your Hero with Potions. There is 30 second cooldown on their use but they are immediate and good for pulling out of a tough situation. Health Globes drop when enemies are defeated and will restore health based on their size. Common enemies generally drop small globes that restore only 20% of your health, Champions may drop up to two 35% globes, and Rare monsters will always drop four 35% globes. The globes restore health to the entire party so a follower or companion in multiplayer can heal you by picking up a globe. Experience and Level Up ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Killing monsters, completing quests, and reading lore will yield experience points (displayed as XP in game). All Heros begin at level one and will rapidly level up at the beginning of the game. This slows down as you reach higher levels significantly, thus requiring more time and more monster slaying in order to gain a level. Most players will reach level 30 by the end of Normal, level 50 by Nightmare, and upon the completion of Hell level 60. As you level your Hero acquires more stats and unlocks more skills. The stat increase will vary but the Hero's primary stat will increase by the maximum, 3, every level up. Difficulty Levels ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ All Heros start on Normal but upon completion of the game you gain access to Nightmare. Beating this difficulty unlocks Hell, and beating Hell unlocks the final and most challenging difficulty, Inferno. Elite monsters gain more affixes in each difficulty (1 for Normal, 2 for Nightmare, 3 for Hell, and 4 for Inferno). All monsters have increased levels to correspond to the increase in difficulty as well -- Nightmare monsters start at level 31, Hell monsters start at level 51, and Inferno monsters start at level 61. Multi-Player ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ While you can play the game alone, the game is built for grouping. The maximum amount of players is four. Followers cannot be used when in a party. You can join public games, or play in private with your friends. Banners of each player are placed at the Waypoints of the cities. They allow you to teleport the corresponding player. While in multi-player drops remain exclusive to each player; that is, Player 1 can only see Player 1's loot, Player 2 can only see Player 2's loot, and so on and so forth. The difficulty increases as more players join. Monsters gain bonuses per player joined: Normal: +75% Health Nightmare: +85% Health, +5% Damage Hell: +95% Health, +10% Damage Inferno: +110% Health, +15% Damage Skills ¯¯¯¯¯¯ In Diablo III, skills are acquired as you level your character and are given to you freely -- no longer will you acquire Skill Points. Up to six skills can be used at a time, bound to Left-Click, Right-Click, and 1-4. Skill are broken down in six separate categories and each type is assigned to a slot. By enabling Elective Mode (Options -> Gameplay) this is lifted and skills can be set to any slot. Runes ¯¯¯¯¯ To accompany Skills and allow for customization, Runes are acquired as you level. Each skill allows for five different Runes, but only one can be used for each skill. The Runes augment the skills power, such as adding elemental damage or increasing the effects. Magic Find ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Magic find helps increase the probability that a higher quality item will drop from monsters and is measured in percentage. You only receive 20% of the Magic Find that your follower has. Likewise, in a party the Magic Find for all players is equally divided. An example from Blizzard: "The group consists of four players. In total, their stats are 50% MF, +20% GF and 10% XP, each of these players will have a 12.5% ??MF, 5% GF and 2.5% XP being in such a group." Nephalem Valor ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This is a buff that increases a player's Magic Find and the amount of loot dropped from a boss. The buff is available once a character reaches level 60. The buff is activated when an Elite monster is slain and can stack. The buff is lost if you change a skill, rune, or leave the game but will remain through death. ________________________________ |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| =======================| |======================= | Act I | [0300] =======================| |======================= |________________________________| ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > The Fallen Star < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Kill the risen dead attacking the gates. - Talk to Leah in the Slaughtered Calf Inn - Talk to Captain Rumford at the gate to New Tristram - Kill the Wretched Queen in the Old Ruins - Wretched Mothers Killed: 0/3 - Use the Old Ruins Waypoint - Talk to Captain Rumford in New Tristram Reward New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 1,125 XP - Crawling Torso - 370 Gold - Quill Fiend - Risen Items - Walking Corpse ¯¯¯¯¯ - Wretched Mother - Cain's Old Journal, Part 1 - Wretched Queen - Cain's Old Journal, Part 2 - Deckard Cain's Journal, Part 1 - Despina's Journal - Gillian's Diary, Part 1 - Gillian's Diary, Part 2 - Leah's Journal, Part 1 - New Tristram - Old Diary - Old Tristram Journal - Traveler's Journal - Warriv's Journal _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ First Steps ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ After choosing your class and entering the game, move along the road slaying the Risen. Speak with Captain Rumford then slay a few more Risen. Enter the Slaughtered Calf Inn and speak with Leah then kill a few more Risen that turn in the Inn. Talk to Leah once more then check the entrance of the Inn for a book called [NEW TRISTRAM]. Enter Leah's Room to find [LEAH'S JOURNAL, PART 1] then head to Cain's House to find [DECKARD CAIN'S JOURNAL, PART 1]. Old Tristram Road ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Musty Cellar - Damp Cellar - The Cave Under the Well Return to Captain Rumford and fight off the attackers. Keep an eye out for an Old Keepsake Box, it drops [CAIN'S OLD JOURNAL, PART 1] or [GILLIAN'S DIARY, PART 1]. You may also find a Dead Adventurer with the [TRAVELER'S JOURNAL] on him. As you enter Old Tristram more enemies await you. Eventually, you'll move up towards the Wretched Queen, an Elite monster that must be slain. Use the Waypoint and talk to Captain Rumford to complete the quest. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > The Legacy of Cain < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Use the New Tristram Waypoint to go to the Old Ruins - Go to the Old Tristram Gate - Find Adria's Hut - Search Adria's Hut - Enter the Hidden Cellar in Adria's Hut - Explore the Hidden Cellar - Kill Captain Daltyn and the Risen - Talk to Leah in the Hidden Cellar - Go to the Cathedral - Enter Cathedral Level 1 - Search for signs of Deckard Cain in the Cathedral - Kill the skeletons attacking Deckard Cain - Talk to Deckard Cain in Leoric's Passage - Talk to Leah in New Tristram Reward New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 3630 XP - Captain Daltyn - 190 Gold - Carrion Bat - Grotesque Items - Ravenous Dead ¯¯¯¯¯ - Treasure Goblin - Lachdanan's Scroll, Part 1 - Leah's Journal, Part 2 - Black Mushroom _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ On the Road Again ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - The Hidden Cellar Talk to Leah then enter her room to find [LEAH'S JOURNAL, PART 2]. Return to the Old Ruins. Leah opens the gate so you may continue up the road. Enter Adria's Hut and move down into the Hidden Cellar. Defeat Captain Daltyn and the Risen then look for a [CHEST]. Talk to Leah to complete the first half of this quest then leave the Hidden Cellar. As you emerge Risen crawl up from the ground. The Mass Grave up the road is short and usually contains a [CHEST]. Into the Cathedral ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Further along you'll enter the Cathedral. Use the Chandelier Chains to drop the Chandeliers on enemies as you move through, dealing decent damage and possibly triggering extra XP gain. As you move through the area look for book stands that might drop [LACHDANAN'S SCROLL, PART 1] and a [BLACK MUSHROOM]. Eventually, you reach Leoric's Passage where Deckard Cain can be found. Save him and fight off the monsters then move to the next Waypoint, returning to Tristram. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > A Shattered Crown < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Talk to the blacksmith Haedrig Eamon - Kill the Ravenous Dead in the Cellar of the Damned - Kill Mira Eamon - Talk to Haedrig Eamon in the Cellar of the Damned - Open the Northwest Gate - Find the Cemetery of the Forsaken in the Weeping Hollow - Search the Chancellor's Altar beneath the Cemetery of the Forsaken - Kill Chancellor Eamon - Take the Skeleton King's crown from the Chancellor's Altar - Use the Town Portal to return to New Tristram - Talk to Haedrig Eamon Reward New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 900 XP - Scavenger - 195 Gold - Carrion Nest - Skeleton Items - Imp ¯¯¯¯¯ - Ghostly Murderer - Gravedigger's Log - Ghastly Gravedigger - Leah's Journal, Part 3 - Harvester - Mira's Letter to Haedrig - Tomb Guardian - Retching Cadaver _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Blacksmith's Wife ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Start the quest by talking to Deckard Cain. Head back to Leah's room to find another entry, [LEAH'S JOURNAL, PART 3]. Talk to Haedrig on the west side of town then follow him into the cellar. Defeat the large number of Ravenous Dead then approach and defeat Mira Eamon. Head back up and defend the northwest gate then enter the Weeping Hollow. Search the fields for a shack where you'll find Haedrig's Apprentice, unfortunately slain and being feasted on by Ravenous Dead and Retching Cadavers. This will prompt an additional speech with Haedrig next time you talk to him. The Weeping Hollow ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Den of the Fallen - Defiled Crypt You can follow the road to reach the Cemetery of the Fallen the fastest but it's worth searching the Den of the Fallen, where you can find [WIRT'S ORIGINAL LEG]. It has decent Magical affixes for early game, not to mention the nostalgia factor. When you reach the Cemetery you'll notice there are a few entrances. One of the crypts can lead to the Jar of Souls event. Releasing the Jar of Souls will continuously summon Skeletons until the timer (60 seconds) is up. Afterward you can destroy the Jar of Souls and collect 975 XP and 200 Gold. Another crypt might have you meet Lady Dunhyld and start "The Matriarch's Bones" quest. This quest requires you to find the missing remains and place them in the Sarcophagus. Lord Dunhyld will try to stop you and summon Skeletons, but he can be defeated as you move around the crypt. This side quest will yield 1370 XP and 360 Gold. Once you find the correct crypt you will reach the Defiled Crypt 2 instead of a Portal Stone. Defiled Crypt 2 is a linear path takes you to fight the monster Manglemaw. This is a Unique Unburied monster but it's large appearance is deceiving as it lacks any special skills. Simply tear into Manglemaw then enter the Chancellor's Tomb and approach the Chancellor's Altar. Slay Chancellor Eamon then acquire the crown. Town Portals are now unlocked, so summon one and return to Haedrig. Haedrig repairs the crown and offers his services as a Blacksmith to you. An additional conversation is brought up if you found his Apprentice. Before moving on, check out the Blacksmith's Belongings nearby to find [MIRA'S LETTER TO HAEDRIG]. Be sure to look into Blacksmithing. Any unwanted magical items can be salvaged for us in creation of new items with potentially greater magical properties. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > Reign of the Black King < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Use the New Tristram Waypoint to return to the Cathedral Garden - Enter Leoric's Passage - Go to the Cathedral Level 2 through the Ornate Door - Descend through the Cathedral - Give aid to the Warrior - Find the Warrior's Stolen Items - Find and Kill Jondar - Join the Templar - Search for the Royal Crypts - Find the Crypt of the Skeleton King - Enter the Crypt of the Skeleton King - Kill the Returned - Place Leoric's crown on the Skeleton King - Kill the Skeleton King - Enter the Desolate Chamber - Talk to the Stranger in the Desolate Chamber - Return to New Tristram - Talk to Deckard Cain Rewards New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 5,250 XP - Dark Cultist - 840 Gold - Fiend - Forgotten Soldier Items - Forgotten Warrior ¯¯¯¯¯ - Necromantic Minion - Lachdanan's Scroll, Part 2 - Returned - Lachdanan's Scroll, Part 3 - Servant of Jondar - Lachdanan's Scroll, Part 4 - Skeletal Archer - Lachdanan's Scroll, Part 5 - Skeletal Guardian - Leoric's Journal, Part 1 - Skeletal Shieldbearer - Unburied _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Cathedral ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Return to the Cathedral Garden and enter Leoric's Passage. Open the Ornate Door to reach the Cathedral Level 2. As you move through this area you will surely encounter the new Skeletal monsters. Their shields can block some attacks but an area of effect skill will guarantee an easy kill. You will also encounter the Tomb Guardians again, just be sure to kill them first or be faced with an infinite amount of Skeletons. Keep an eye out for the Scribe's Lecterns that populate as they hold [LACHDANAN'S SCROLLS] -- there are 5 parts in total. Descend to level 3 where you will save the Templar from the torture of the Dark Cultists. Aid the warrior in finding his equipment, it's in a chest labeled "Warrior's Stolen Items" just around the corner. With his armor restored the Templar will seek vengeance against Jondar and requests your aid in doing so. Move down the stairs to Jondar, a necromancer that will summon countless Skeletons to combat you. Jondar can also shoot poison but it doesn't do much damage. With Jondar now slain, the Templar becomes your first follower. You can choose to have him tag along or send him back to New Tristram. - Note - ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Followers cannot be used when playing cooperatively, but they are very useful and there is no downside to having one while playing alone. Don't forget to equip him and set his skills if you plan on using the Templar! _______________________________________________________________________________ To the Royal Crypt ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Descend deeper to the Cathedral Level 4. This is the largest level of the Cathedral and undoubtedly has the highest concentration of monsters. Continue to search for Scribe's Lecterns to find more Lore Books while looking for the entrance to the Royal Crypt. Once in the Royal Crypts you will immediately find a sword. Interacting with it will play a short scene with Lachdanan and King Leoric. Just a bit down the path you'll reach four Activated Pillars that will continuously summon Skeletons. AOE attacks are recommended to clear out the masses. Destroy the Pillars and move on through the rest of the short floor. Utilize the Waypoint to return to town and empty your bags then head back, entering the Crypt of the Skeleton King. The undead King Leoric will attempt to heed your progress with several Returned. Simply defeat them on the narrow path to the Skeleton King, then place the crown on his head to summon the first boss. _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ - Skeleton King - Normal - 1,800 HP 187 XP Nightmare - 123,250 HP 525 XP Hell - 2,471,100 HP 737 XP Inferno - 15,717,300 HP 850 XP Attacks - Cleave, Summon Skeletons, Teleport Attack, Whirlwind Resistance - Poison The Skeleton King likes to focus on melee attacks. If you aren't in range he will charge up a Teleport Attack or Whirlwind toward you and if you are in range he will attempt to Cleave. He also summons upto eight additional enemies, four Returned and four Forgotten. You don't necessarily have to take them out yourself if you are clever. The Whirlwind and Cleave of the Skeleton King will actually kill the monsters and let you focus on killing him (there's even an achievement for doing this!). When the Skeleton is going to Teleport be ready for it and immediately counter, or draw some separation if you are a ranged fighter. Overall, the fight shouldn't be too difficult. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Fallen Star At Last ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Enter the Desolate Chamber to discover that the fallen star you've been searching for is actually a man. Progressing through the Fields of Misery is quite simple, just follow the road to the Khazra Den. Along the way you may reach the Forlorn Farm, an abandoned farm with a large carcass of a beast. Inspect it to trigger an attack by Burrowing Leapers and an Elite leader. Once they are defeated a farmer will exit the cellar and let you down to the basement where you can find a [RESPLENDENT CHEST]. The Family Rathe ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ During your travels in the Field of Misery you may also encounter the Decaying Crypt. Reach the second level of this crypt to find Willa Rathe. This starts the quest to kill her family member's ghosts. Father Rathe is a Rancid Stumbler with the Knockback affix, Mother Rathe is a Spewing Horror with the Cold Aura affix, and Little Jebby Rather is a Decayer with Extra Health and Fast affixes. Once they are all defeated Willa rewards you with a [RESPLENDENT CHEST]. The Precious Ores ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Lost Mine is yet another randomly appearing dungeon in the Fields of Misery. Reach the second level of the dungeon to find Tashun the Miner. Escort him through the cave to the Pure Gemstone and Vein of Metals. A group of Champion Burrowing Leapers will attack before you can leave. Slaying them ends the quest and receive access to Tashun's wares. Pillaged Home and Scavenger's Den ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ There is a chance to find a Pillaged Home or Sheltered Cottage randomly in this zone. A [CHEST] is usually inside them and sometimes merchants who sell wares. The Scavenger's Den is a short dungeon filled with Deathspitters, Leapers, and Quill Demons but if you can slay them you will reach another [RESPLENDENT CHEST]. Carrion Farm ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The last event that you can encounter is a farm where four Carrion Nests have infected the Beleaguered Farmer's territory. Simply march in and fight your way to the nests and destroy them. Return to the Farmer for some Gold and XP. The Fields of Misery ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ There are plenty of Wood Wraiths and Plague Carriers throughout this area to deal enough poison damage for a life time. Be mindful of your surroundings as Wood Wraiths will randomly awaken, such as a secluded and seemingly empty area that spawns "The Old Man." This Unique Wood Wraith will spawn others and chase you down for attempting to loot the [RESPLENDENT CHEST] it guards. The other monster you will encounter is the Moon Clan. They will rush in groups and are often accompanied by Savage Beasts who charge to knock you down. The Khazra Den is often in the center of the Fields of Misery, so make your way there once you're satisfied with the side quests you've completed. Khazra Den ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ You'll need to fight through this cave filled with Dark Cultists. At the back end of the cave you'll find Urik the Seer and his minions attempting to summon something. Urik is Electrified and can toss Fireballs at you, in addition to summoning Dark Hellions. Keep your distance if you are ranged and pick off the Seer. Melee should wipe out the Dark Cultists first. When you approach the Glowing Shard, Maghda will appear and summon another horde of Dark Cultists, but they are easily dispatched. Claim your prize then return to Deckard Cain to complete the quest. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > The Broken Blade < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Go to the Drowned Temple - Follow the Scoundrel - Talk to the Brigand - Kill the Brigands - Speak with the Scoundrel - Take the Scoundrel north to the Waypoint - Talk to Alaric - Go to the Festering Woods - Retrieve the Beacon of Light from the Crypt of the Ancients - Retrieve the Beacon of Honor from Warrior's Rest - Place the Beacons on the Pedestals - Enter the Drowned Temple - Explore the Temple - Kill Ezek the Prophet and the skeletons - Talk to Alaric in the Drowned Temple - Secure the Glowing Sword Shard - Return the Glowing Sword Shard to New Tristram Rewards New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 4,675 XP - Dark Skeletal Archer - 660 Gold - Enraged Phantom - Ghost Items - Ghoul ¯¯¯¯¯ - Returned Archer - Leah's Journal, Part 5 - Returned Summoner - Scoundrel's Journal - The Drowned Temple - The Last Stand of the Ancients - Tristram Fields - Wandering Tinker's Diary - Warrior's Rest _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Old Mill and a Scoundrel ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ From the Waypoint in the Fields of Misery, head northeast past the Old Mill to find the Scoundrel and possibly a Stolen Sack containing the [SCOUNDREL'S JOURNAL]. Help the Scoundrel and follow him into the mill. Defeat the Brigands that attack and more come, this time led by Nigel Cutthroat. With the group defeated the Scoundrel will join your party. Lead him to the Waypoint just up the road then approach the Drowned Temple. The Guardian ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ At the center of the Drowned Temple you will find Alaric the Guardian. In order to prove yourself worthy of entrance Alaric wants you to retrieve two Beacons. Follow Alaric across the bridge to reach the Festering Woods. Last Stand of the Ancients ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ In the southern end of the Festering Woods you can find a monument raised high above the others. Interact with the memorial to trigger a quest where Ghouls, Ghosts, and Ancient Heroes rush up the steps trying to defeat you. Towards the end of the rush an Elite Ancient Hero will rush with a horde of minions. The Scoundrel and Leah benefit from being ranged fighters so bring them along if you have trouble. When all is clear you receive 1200 XP and 90 Gold. The Festering Woods ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Start by looking for the Waypoint in the center of the zone. To the east and west you will find the two crypts. Enter the Crypt of the Ancients and fight through the Returned Summoners until you reach the [BEACON OF LIGHT]. Leave the crypt and head to the Warrior's Rest. This is another short cave that has an Elite Dark Skeletal Archer with plenty of it's minions. Simply rush in and claim the [BEACON OF HONOR] as your own. Into the Drowned Temple ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ With both Beacons in hand, return to the Drowned Temple and place them. Speak with Alaric then enter the temple, grabbing the contents of the nearby [ANCIENT CHEST]. At the end of the watery pathway is Ezek the Prophet. Once he is slain his three brothers -- Larel, Karel, and Moek -- appear. Larel has the Molten affix, Karel has Knockback, and Moek is Fast so plan your strategy around that. It's recommended to deal with Larel first since the Molten affix can be deadly in a hurry. Speak with Alaric after defeating the enemies and claim the Glowing Sword Shard after dealing with Maghda and her Dark Zealots. A man will rush to you and ask you to save the villagers at the chapel. As you approach there will be more Dark Evokers, simply destroy them then wait for Maghda to call upon a Unique Dark Summoner named Urzel Mordreg. This enemy has the Molten affix, can cast Fireballs, and summon Dark Hellions so strike swiftly to avoid unneccessary damage. After Urzel falls, four Dark Berserker Champions will rush you and attempt to end the battle. Pick them off one at a time then speak with the Priest. Enter the Southern Highlands and speak with Karyna to get some information about the Stranger, who was apparently drug into Leoric's Manor to the north. You need to locate the Khazra Staff in this area to reach the Northern Highlands and it can be found on a wagon not far from the Cavern exit. Before venturing to the Northern Highlands, take some time to explore for a few caves and events in the South. Cave of the Moon Clan ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This cave is full of Dark Moon Clan and Spiders. The cave will have a [RESPLENDENT CHEST] will be at the back of the second level as usual, but you can also find the [NOTES OF URIK THE SEER] for some easy additional experience. You can also find the camp of Skehlinrath in the Southern Highlands where you can find [CHESTS], Dark Moon Clan, and their leader Rambolt the Lunatic. Tower and a Pyre ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ You can find the Watch Tower along the western edge of the Southern Highlands. It is filled with Dark Cultists and Returned, but holds no significant Lore or items. The Ancient Pyre is guarded by Gharbad, a Dark Moon Clan member that wants you to retrieve the Shard of Resurrection from the pyre. An army of Khazra will attack as you approach, so beware. Return to Gharbad who then immediately strikes at you. The completion of this quest unlocks an achievement. The King in the North ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ With the Khazra Staff in hand, head to the north east to find the Khazra barricade. Open the gate and make your way through the narrow path. Keep on the watch for numerous tripwires and surprise attacks from the Dark Moon Clan. Keep in mind that you likely have skills that can reach different elevations, so use them to clear the path ahead instead of fighting head on. As you reach the Northern Highlands you'll note that it's similar to the Southern Highlands with the exception of being much smaller. Head to the north once again to find steps up towards Leoric's Hunting Ground. In this area you may find the Highlands Cave where Rike the Apothecary is trying to free his brother from the Dark Moon Clan that has kidnapped him. Defeat the Dark Cultists enroute to Rike's brother then collect your reward before exiting the cave. Back in the Hunting Grounds, head to the north west to find Leoric's Manor. Leoric's Manor ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This area is quite short but filled with Dark Cultists. Area of effect attacks will serve you best in this large room. The room to the north east has a fire place where you may find [LEORIC'S SHINBONE] amongst the logs. Note that it's a somewhat rare spawn, so it isn't always there. Move to the back of the manor to find Maghda preparing your demise. Interrupt her and the Cultists attack, leaving you to tend to the Wounded Man. The door opens as you reach the Waypoint and the conclusion of the quest. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > The Imprisoned Angel < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Enter Halls of Agony Level 1 - Enter Halls of Agony Level 2 - Go to the Highlands Passage - Enter the Cursed Hold - Talk to Queen Asylla - Free the six Prisoner's Remains - Kill the Warden - Search for the Chamber of Suffering - Kill the Butcher - Find the Stranger - Kill the Cultists surrounding the Stranger - Talk to the Stranger Rewards New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 7,700 XP - Bloated Corpse - 980 Gold - Disentombed Hulk - Horror Items - Hungry Corpse ¯¯¯¯¯ - Inferno Zombie - A Page from Lazarus's Grimoire - Savage Fiend - A Prisoner's Journal - Tortured Summoner - Leoric's Journal 2-5 - Vicious Hellion - Queen Asylla's Journal - Voracious Zombie - Zap Worm _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Halls of Agony ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ As you descend through the first two floors of the Halls of Agony you will encounter Inferno Zombies that crawl from the fire pits. Be on the look out for them as they are easily passed up but then amass behind you, possibly foiling your masterpiece of an attack. The Cultist Grand Inquisitor can be found on the first level and it has Extra Health as well as summons Vicious Hellions to strike at you. You'll find much of the same in the second level. There is a man named Merhan that is trapped in an iron maiden. Attempting to free him causes all kinds of enemies to strike. You receive some XP and Gold as a reward, as well as obtain [A PRISONER'S JOURNAL]. The Cursed Hold ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ As you reach the Highlands Passage you'll likely encounter Kyr. He wants you to slay Dargon and restore his reputation, in return he'll sell you his wares. Follow him along the path and defeat Dargon to complete the short quest. Enter the Cursed Hold and speak with Queen Asylla to start a quest. Grab [QUEEN ASYLLA'S JOURNAL] in the nearby [CHEST] then progress into the dungeon. You're objective is to free the six Forgotten Prisoner's souls. There are quite a few monsters lurking the area around, namely Returned and Shieldbearers. Take your time as you locate all six Prisoner's Remains. Once you've got them all head to the center of the Hold to find the Warden, ready to mete out his justice. Several fiends will fight along side him and they can become trouble- some if you succumb to the Jailer effect of the Warden. The best way to avoid taking too much damage is to keep him at bay, then hit him quickly and back off again. Getting hit by the Warden will launch you back and create distance as he has the Knockback affix as well. Once defeated, head to the south west to reach The Halls of Agony Level 3. To the Chamber of Suffering ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Trudge through the final level of the Halls of Agony. You'll find much of the same, just remember to keep an eye out for the Musty Lecterns that hold pieces of [LEORIC'S JOURNAL]. Just before you head to the Chamber of Suffering, stop by the final room to witness the execution of Asylla and receive [A PAGE FROM LAZARUS'S GRIMOIRE]. Skills that do either will make the fight significantly less painful. The Butcher hits rather hard, likely killing your Hero in a few hits so keep on your toes. There are two Healing Wells in the back corners if you start to get too low. The attacks to watch out for are a Charge, that if dodged leaves The Butcher open for a few hits, and the Grappling Hook. The Hook can either be used spread out to deal a cone-effect of damage, easily dodged, or it can be used to pull you in for a quick follow-up melee strike. The other thing to watch out for during this fight is the fire. There are nine tiles and up to six can be lit with deadly fire at any point. Follow them into the Caldeum Bazaar to find Asheara, the commander of the Iron Wolves. Follow up with Leah before heading out to get some information on Belial. Just outside the gates you run into an Enchantress, follow her through the narrow canyon and keep an eye out on the new enemies that strike from above. At the end of the canyon a bunch of Deranged Cultists appear to try and ambush you. Talk with the Enchantress after defeating them to reveal the mirage then move ahead to find several Iron Wolf members approaching. Iron Wolves and Black Canyon Bridge ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Defeat the Lacuni Warriors that attack the Iron Wolves then speak with Jarulf. You discover that magic is being cast over the Black Canyong Bridge and is preventing you and Eirena from progressing further. Your next task is to disrupt the spellcasters, but first seek out the Sirocco Caverns. This cavern is a great place to AoE farm enemies for experience and get a decent amount of Gold and items quickly. A Miner and Frightened Girl ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Traveling around this area you may find a Miner near a [RESPLENDENT CHEST]. Protect him from the Fallen as he lifts it up to receive XP and Gold in addition to the chest. There is also a chance to find a Frightened Girl in the center of the desert area. Talking to her reveals it to be an illusion as several enemies strike at you. Back out of the circle and funnel the Berserkers and Hellions for a much easier battle. - Note - ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Much like the single miner with the Resplendent Chest, you can find other places to pull chests up for easy gold and items. This will start to become a recurring thing through Act II and III. _______________________________________________________________________________ Disrupting the Spell ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Head to the northwest where the Enchantress should point out hidden tracks left by the Cultists. Eventually you'll reach the Hidden Conclave, guarded by a Vicious Mangler and several Dark Cultists. Once all enemies have been defeated, return once more to the outside. Another set of tracks should be found that lead south to the Secret Altar. Much like the Hidden Conclave, there Dark Cultists channelling a spell. Disrupt them and defeat the Pain Mongers and Frenzied Hellions that attack. There isn't much to do in this area so simply head to the west and enter the next area, the Stinging Winds, if you don't want to explore the dungeons. Blood Cellar and Deserted Cellars ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Inside the Blood Cellar you will find some Fallen Hounds that you can easily get a jump on. A man will run out after you've dispatched the foul beasts and reward you. There are two types of Deserted Cellars, one leads to a bunch of Stingers and Hurax, a Unique monster, and eventually a [RESPLEDENT CHEST]. The other one leads to Graveljaw the Devourer, a Unique Rockworm. Slay this beast then enter it's vacated hole, the Tunnels of the Rockworm to acquire some loot for your hard work. Stinging Winds ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ There is plenty to do in this area, events, dungeons, and quite the variety of enemies. You can reach the Khasim Outpost relatively quick but it's recommended to explore the dungeons and do a few events before moving on. Venture to the northwest to reach the Outpost when you are ready. Ruins and The Idol of Rygnar ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Ruins are a dangerous area to explore but inside you can find multiple [RESPLENDENT CHESTS] so it might be worth your time to undergo the challenge. The Idol of Rygnar is a quest that starts in the Chamber of the Lost Idol when you speak with Poltahr. Explore the ruins until you find the Rygnar Idol, but beware the Frost and Fire Guardians that protect it. The Crumbling Vault ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Crumbling Vault is a timed event where you have 2 minutes to reach the Treasure Room. The key to this is to move quickly and avoid enemies that are impeding your progress. Skills that let you dash past enemies are great. The Treasure Room has a few chests and even a [RESPLENDENT]. Once looted, you can use the portal to return to the Stinging Winds. The Restless Sands and Lost Caravan ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ To the west of the entrance of the Stinging Winds you'll find either Mehtan or the Lost Caravan. If you meet the Necromancer you'll start an event to defeat a bunch of Deathyl Haunts. Afterwards, a bunch of Coven members will appear with Vicious Manglers. Defeating this group will complete the event. If you find the Lost Caravan you'll likely encounter Beyatt the Reviver, a Fast Electrified Teleporter, that guards the treasures of the caravan. Khasim Outpost ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Venture past the guards in this area to find Lieutenant Vachem. Enter the Command Post and defeat the Writhing Deceivers. Release the guards, to include Captain Davyd, then return outside to deal with the snake-like monsters. Watch out for the Serpent Magus when it starts a lightning-based area of effect attack. Talk to Captain Davyd to open the way to Alcarnus and complete the quest. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > City of Blood < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Travel through Khasim Outpost's east gate - Find Alcarnus - Find the Lair of the Witch in Alcarnus - Kill Maghda - Return to the Hidden Camp Rewards New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Corrupt Vessel - Deranged Cultist - Soul Conjurer - Tormented Thrall _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Road to Alcarnus ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Along the way to Alcarnus you may encounter Hadi's Claim Mine. Inside is a Unique enemy named the Dervish Lord. Defeat the monster and use the lift to find a chest. This is an excellent place to farm as the dungeon spawns about 50% of the time and is only a short trek from the Waypoint. As you move to enter the decrepit city, you will encounter Shatterbone, a menacing Unique Berserker. Dodge the huge overhead attack then take your shots. Ranged characters have the benefit of simply kiting this foe back and taking small chunks at a time until it falls. Alcarnus ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ As you enter Alcarnus you'll acquire a side quest to free eight prisoners. This is easily done as you move along the path to Maghda and nets some extra Gold and XP. It's also worth noting the cellars (Alcarnus Cellar, Town Cellar, and Sandy Cellar) as they are small and contain chests with few enemies. Defeat the Cultists before they turn to make life a little easier as you progress to the Lair of the Witch. _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ - Maghda - Normal - 3,312 HP 2,400 XP Nightmare - 101,233 HP 9,200 XP Hell - 1,472,000 HP 26,000 XP Inferno - 8,852,580 HP 32,000 XP Attacks - Forcefield, Maghda's Mask, Moth Dust, Punish, Summon Allies The battle against Maghda is about managing your resources and attacking at the right times. Continue to press on, defeating the enemies as they impede your progress until you reach the Caldeum Sewers and end the quest. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > Unexpected Allies < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Find the Wretched Pit - Kill the snakemen guarding Adria - Talk to Adria in the Wretched Pit - Talk to Adria in the Hidden Camp Rewards New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 5,200 XP - Betrayed - 530 Gold - Diseased Bodies - Eletric Eel - Sandling - Skeletal Sentry _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Sewers of Caldeum ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ As you arrive, speak with Leah to discover her mother Adria is alive and being held in the Wretched Pit. The corridors are narrow and filled with Diseased Bodies that spawn Betrayed, enemies that explode with poisonous gas when they are laid to rest. Sandlings pop out of sewer drains and Skeletons drop down from above (you'll see the ceiling fall before the Skeletons). Eventually, you reach the Wretched Pit to find Adria. The Wretched Pit ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This area is large and open, allowing you to fight Goz'turr the Torturer and the Writhing Deceivers. Keep your spacing and pick off the lesser enemies first, then focus on the Unique with the aid of the NPCs. Talk to Adria then return to the Hidden Camp, speaking with her once more to end the quest. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > Betrayer of the Horadrim < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Find the oasis gate in the Flooded Causeway - Talk to Emperor Hakan II in the Flooded Causeway - Find Dahlgur Oasis - Enter the Forgotten Ruins in Dahlgur Oasis - Find Zoltun Kulle' head - Pick up Zoltun Kulle's head - Talk to Adria in the Hidden Camp Rewards New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 7,425 XP - Blazing Guardian - 810 Gold - Chilling Construct - Deathly Haunt - Dune Dervish - Dust Imp - Gore Harrier - Rockworm - Shocked Guardian - Skeletal Ranger - Vile Swarm - Webspitter Spider - Winged Molok _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Flooded Causeway ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Head into the Caldeum Bazaar and enter the Flooded Causeway. Speak with the Emperor to eventually reach the Ruined Cistern. This sewer is one of the larger ones but is filled with the same enemies and loot as the previous ones. When you reach the exit you'll be on the Path to the Oasis, which conveniently has a Waypoint and leads to the Dahlgur Oasis. Search for Liquid Rainbow ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ One of the components for crafting the Staff of Herding can be found in the Mysterious Cave that randomly appears in the southern portion of the Dahlgur Oasis. Save Zaven the Alchemist then venture into the cave in hopes of finding the [MYSTERIOUS CHEST] with [LIQUID RAINBOW] inside. Fezuul Guards the Pool ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Towards the center of the Oasis you might find some bones lying around a small pool of water, your character likely comments on it. Approach the piles will cause them to awaken into Bone Warriors, led by a Horror called Fezuul. Defeat the enemies for good loot, Gold, and XP. Another such encounter can occur at a nearby caravan where your Hero may comment on how suspicious it is. Another Unique enemy will spring out of the ground, but you hunt the Beast not the other way around. Ancient Cave and Cellars ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Ancient Cave is a relatively rare spawning dungeon filled with plenty of spider creatures. As always, on the second floor you'll encounter a Rare group and a [RESPLENDENT CHEST]. There is also a Flooded Cave that is similar to the Ancient Cave, often taking it's place. The cellars (Rotting, Swampy, and Storm) have Writhing Deceivers. You will save villagers, Javad the Merchant, and/or Lugo the Miner depending on which cellar you enter, receiving an award for your bravery. The Lost Treasure of Khan Dakab ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ You can find a spring with a stone temple built around it, a lever on each side. Hit the levers to open the entrance to the temple and likely spring a Rare monster. Move to the central area to find a [RESPLENDENT CHEST] guareded by the Spirit of Khan Dakab and some Grim Wraiths. The Dahlgur Oasis ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This area is pretty open and has clusters of enemies. Check for the above events and dungeons for extra items/Gold/XP. Be on the look out for poisonous flowers that explode when you get near them. This is a great place to farm some XP if you need to level up as you can AoE large groups of enemies and you are sure to encounter several Champion packs and Elite monsters. Your ultimate goal is to reach the Forgotten Ruins, so enter the area once you're ready. The Forgotten Ruins ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The ruins are the same as all the others and are filled with Guardian Towers and Guardians. Most side areas won't take you too far in the wrong direction so it's somewhat linear. When you reach Zoltun Kulle's head you'll encounter an Ancient Guardian. Slow-moving and hard hitting, so keep your distance and pick your time to strike. Afterwards, return to Adria in the Hidden Camp to finish the quest. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > Blood and Sand < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Enter the Ancient Waterway in the Dahlgur Oasis - Pull the Western Flow Control lever - Pull the Eastern Flow Control lever - Open the entrance to the Waterlogged Passage - Enter the Waterlogged Passage from the Ancient Waterway - Kill the Betrayed - Break the Talking Barrel - Talk to Covetous Shen - Find the Crucible in the Hidden Aqueducts - Kill Gavin the Thief - Pick up the Crucible - Go to the Ancient Path - Get the Blood of Zoltun Kulle from the Cave of the Betrayer - Get the Blood of Zoltun Kulle from the Vault of the Assassin Rewards New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 7,700 XP - Accursed - 825 Gold - Blood Nest - Charged Construct - Charged Stinger - Desert Hornet - Desiccated Imp - Dust Biter - Dust Eater - Dust Shambler - Fallen Cur - Hungerer - Lacuni Slasher - Lacuni Stalker - Reaper - Sand Dweller - Scorching Creeper - Smoldering Construct - Vicious Ghoul - Winged Molok _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Ancient Waterway ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This area is reached by moving through the Dahlgur Oasis to the northeast end and defeating an Elite Unique monster. Zoltun Kulle will open the gate to the waterway where Emperor Hakan meets with you. You need to move through the western channel to the Western Flow Control. The path is much like any other sewer you've been through and doesn't have anything new. Move from here to the Eastern Flow Control to complete the mini-quest and enter the Waterlogged Passage. Hidden Aqueducts ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ As you enter the Waterlogged Passage you'll come across a Talking Barrel. Defeat the Betrayed that attack then free Covetous Shen, leading him to the Hidden Aqueducts. The guide he hired, Gavin the Thief, apparently has the Jeweler's Crucible he was looking for and it corrupted him. Move through the sewers and kill Gavin then retrieve the Crucible as you move to the Desolate Sands. Covetous Shen will return to the Hidden Camp and serves as the Jewel Crafter. Desolate Sands ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Desolate Sands are massive and contain tons of new enemies. Ultimately, you are looking for the Cave of the Betrayer and the Vault of the Assassin where you'll find Zoltun Kulle's blood. Keep on your toes for the Bloodhawks and Imps that randomly emerge. Cave of Burrowing Horrow ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This cave is interesting in that you need to kill a Unique Rockworm near a circle of Ancient Bones and enter via the hole it leaves. The cave can be tough as it contains deadly Reapers. Undoubtedly, you'll find at least a few chests and a [RESPLENDENT CHEST]. You may also encounter the simpler Vile Cavern during your search for Zoltun Kulle's Blood. This cave is filled with Spiders and Rockworms, as well as riches. Blood of the Betrayer ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Cave of the Betrayer has two floors and can be found almost anywhere in the Desolate Sands. Much like the other caverns, you'll need to fight your way past the monsters to reach the prize, the Blood of Zoltun Kulle. You also need to find the Vault of the Assassin and perform the same act. The quest ends when you have acquired the blood from both locations. \¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯/ > The Black Soulstone < /_____________________________________________________________________________\ Objectives ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - Search for the Archives of Zoltun Kulle in the Desolate Sands - Go to the Terminus - Open the Shadow Lock in the Unknown Depths - Open the Shadow Lock in the Storm Halls - Enter the Realm of Shadow through the Terminus - Find Zoltun Kulle's Body - Talk to Leah in the Terminus - Enter the Soulstone Chamber through the Terminus - Talk to Zoltun Kulle - Kill Zoltun Kulle - Get the Black Soulstone - Talk to Adria in the Hidden Camp Rewards New Enemies ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - 10,150 XP - Charged Sentinel - 1,120 Gold - Fallen Conjurer - Fallen Master - Fallen Peon - Frost Sentinel - Molten Sentinel - Rock Giant - Sand Behemoth - Shade Stalker - Shocking Crawler - Skeletal Bowmaster - Skeletal Raider - Skeletal Warrior - Toxic Construct - Venomous Spinner - Vile Revenant - Vile Sentinel _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Terminus ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Terminus is always in the north west of the Desolate Sands, simply warp to the area and follow the long path to the end where Zoltun Kulle tells of the two Shadow Locks that must be released in the Unknown Depths and the Storm Halls in order to enter the Realm of Shadow. Many of the enemies here are variants of everything you've already faced. Watch out for the seemingly free-to-open chests as Constructs often appear to surround and decimate you in ambush. The main goal in each ruin is find the Shadow Lock. Once found, one of the other three paths will contain a portal back to the Terminus (the Shadow Lock is always in the middle of a four-way crossroads). Once both locks have been removed, enter the Realm of Shadow. This ruin is smaller than the previous ones but is a little more compact and contains tougher groups of enemies. When you find Zoltun Kulle's Body you'll be attacked by Sentinels that are worth killing Head back to Leah to perform the ritual and bring Zoltun Kulle back to life. Follow him to the Black Soulstone in the Soulstone Chamber. _______________________________________________________________________________ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ - Zoltun Kulle - Normal - 9,867 HP 1,350 XP Nightmare - 242,121 HP 5,000 XP Hell - 3,198,294 HP 13,500 XP Inferno - 16,229,730 HP 16,000 XP Attacks - Collapse, Energy Twister, Fireball, Time Bubble The battle starts off with two Unique Eternal Guardians moving at you and Zoltun Kulle usually taking a ranged position. Zoltun Kulle will often spawn Energy Twisters around the battlefield then attempt to Collapse the ceiling on your head. Stay on your toes when he uses Time Bubble to slow you down as he follows up with a Fireball that is hard to dodge when you aren't moving that fast. The first phase consists of a couple waves of Veiled Sentinels and Veiled Evokers. Fight these foes just like their weaker counterparts and you'll be fine. Belial will join the fray after a short scene. Watch out for the triple Fireballs, being at distance makes them easier to dodge but you can always let your Follower take the hit in your stead. This phase doesn't last very long with decent attack damage, just make sure you can catch up to Belial and avoid reinforcements he summons (or take them out). Ground Pound is telegraphed with a green circle, Lightning Breath is coming when Belial thrusts his arms way back so use a skill like Diamond Skin or Smoke Screen to dodge the damage if you aren't in the corners. The Lightning Strikes attack is the most deadly as it creates explosions on the green circles and their are quite a few of them so you'll have to stay mobile. Initial release. Act I completed. I have a lot of information typed up just not ready for release. Completed the game on Hell so I figure it's sufficient to write thuroughly on the game. I will need assistance with Lore items, they are pretty hard to keep of track of. I'll gladly accept valid contributions. Version 0.25 - Added upto Act III and all Lore Locations. ________________________________ |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| =======================| |======================= | Outro | [1300] =======================| |======================= |________________________________| ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Thanks! ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ - GameFAQs - Ramza - Hitlord - Brady Games Official Guide - DomZNinja Legal ¯¯¯¯¯ This document is Copyright ©2012 Greg Boccia (noz3r0) and is the intellectual property of the author.
