What's New/Version History

Tuesday December 14, 2004:

Just continuing a bit more on the walkthrough with Brett's story. Nothing major
aside from going up to "Playing Doubles". Updates will eventually become more
regular, just need to get a paper done for school and I'll be able to finish
Brett's Story for the walkthrough (within the week).

Friday December 10, 2004:

The creation of the FAQ itself! Updates should come by frequently in the next
few days so don't worry too much and if something isn't there yet, wait a while.

Introduction
-----------------

Sprung is a game for the DS and is one of the only dating sims you'll find in
the US. And no, I don't mean that stuff you can find online (like online flash
games), but I mean commercial games. And I also don't mean Hentai games either
(although some mix dating and the hentai together, ala Seasons of Sakura), as
we have had a few of those come to us. Rarely do we ever get a dating sim
because... well, they aren't deemed the most popular games outside of Japan.
Oddly enough, this game isn't a Japanese game and that means that no, the girls
in it are not anime babes. Don't fret though, they're still pretty damn cute
and hot ^_~. So with that premise alone it was one of two games which sealed
the deal for my getting a DS as hey, I'm a fan of the genre.

Controls
------------

Well, as a DS game the controls play a larger role than not, if you want them
to at least. You can play the entire game strictly by using the D-Pad and A and
B, X and Y aren't even used. The D-Pad functions as... well, a D-Pad does in a
game (Up, Down, Left, Right), A is used to confirm and continue the discussion,
B is used to cancel, and either A or B will speed the text up (it all appears
at once as opposed to scrolling). SELECT is used to see your items at anytime.
START is used to pause the game.

Or you can use the touch screen alone. Tap the screen on the choices you make,
to speed up dialogue you can tap the screen while person is talking. In order
to pick choice and see the other person's reaction to it, if any, you tap that
choice once. To confirm it you tap it again (amazingly complicated ain't it?).
If you tap the top of your screen you'll see a small bar show up where on the
left is items, the right is pause (SELECT and START respectively). Click the
screen while someone is talking so you can speed it up as if you were pressing
"A" or "B"

Glitches
------------

1) Well, in my first runthrough I found a few glitches. The first I found in
the Music section of the Extras, sometimes if you go too fast down the list for
the music the game freezes. It only happened once to me and is pretty rare.

2) In a scene where you have to talk to an old woman, do NOT pick the Raw Fish
item ever. The game freezes. At least, it did with me.

Walkthrough
-------------------

Ah, the game itself. First time I played the game I went through the entire
story, and a LOT of restarting scenes. Luckily, you're reading this to avoid
that. Note: I won't include the dialogue that the two people say in this
section. Later on I'll have a part of the FAQ devoted to it, for now, it won't
have anything except for the choices. Also to note, I'll say what option to
take as in what I did, sometimes the option doesn't matter or leads to
different dialogue and events. So for the sake of argument I'll only go with
the branches I've done, the rest will eventually be completed.
