WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 2.5:

-Target areas for each movement have now been included in the moves lists.
On
each
 of the several Japanese moves lists I used to create this FAQ, there were
 annotations after each and every move that specified what part of your
opponent's
 body the particu in Manual" parts were removed from the 
 moves lists to keep things more basic (and easier to read and recognize).

ZERO DIVIDE STORY:

Zero Divide takes place in the near future. One day, a mysterious data
library 
known as "XTAL TOWER" surfaced on the Internet. Collected within this
library
were 
every nation of the world's most important national security secrets. The
hackers 
who accomplished this feat threatened to release these secrets to the
public
in a 
matter of days. The world was stunned that these supposedly impossible to
access 
secrets were acquired by these brilliant hackers. The military and
economic 
balances of the entire world could be destroyed...

Hours later, each of the world's countries received an invitation from a
being 
known only as "XTAL". The invitation stated that before the XTAL TOWER
library was 
made public, each nation would be given a chance to fight against the
library's 
security units, as well as each other. "If any challenger can defeat every
other 
unit within the alotted time, and find their way to the location of the
host,
then 
they can stop the secrets from being released and destroy the XTAL
TOWER..."

The battle begins...

THE CONTROLLER:

D-Pad:                          Used to MOVE the characters.
TRIANGLE, SQUARE buttons:       Used to GUARD.
X button:                       The PUNCH button.
CIRCLE button:                  The KICK button.
START button:                   The PAUSE button. (Access EXIT screen as
well)
L1, L2, R1, R2, SELECT:         Not used.

SPECIAL CONTROLLER COMMANDS:

-Press GUARD + PUNCH together to execute a throw.
-Tap FORWARD, FORWARD to leap forward, or BACK, BACK to leap backwards.
-Tap FORWARD, FORWARD (and hold) to dash forward.
-Tap DOWN, DOWN, or UP, UP and then GUARD to dodge by leaping into the
foreground 
 or background.
-When hanging off of the edge:
	Press UP to jump attack back into the ring.
	Press DOWN to climb back in without jumping.
-When you are down:
	Press BACK to get up by rolling away from your opponent.
	Press DOWN + GUARD to roll to the side.
	Press UP + KICK to do a mid kick as you get up.
	Press DOWN + KICK to do a low kick as you get up.
-In the middle of a back roll or side roll, press KICK to turn it into an
attack.

OPTIONS SCREEN:

COM LEVEL: Choose between EASY, NORMAL, or HARD.

MATCH POINT: Select how many matches are necessary for victory.

TIME LIMIT: Select the time limit for each round.

VIEW MODE: Choose between NORMAL (Normal, mainly side-view perspective),
SWITCH 
(Rapidly switches between viewpoints), ROLLING (Constantly rotating 360
degrees 
around the ring), and PLAYER (First person view, right behind player's
shoulder).

VS HANDI: Handicap settings for VS. Play mode.

D.J. ON/OFF: Allows you to turn the D.J.'s annoying commentary on or off.

UNIT BREAK: Turn this off to prevent units from breaking body parts.

RECORD: Shows best Time, Score, and Unit (VS. Play Mode).

CARD SAVE/LOAD: Saves all your options, records, and progress status
(whether
or 
not you beat it on HARD without continuing). Save at any time before
turning
off 
s the camera angles on the replays. Choose between NORMAL 
    (Normal perspective), AUTO (Randomly changes viewpoints), PLAYER
(First
person 
    view, right behind player's shoulder), and FREE (Control the views
with
the 
    controller).
    REPLAY SAVE: Saves data to your memory card.
    DATA COPY: Copy data from one memory card to another.
    DATA DELETE: Delete a file.
    DATA LOCK: Makes the file undeletable.
    DATA UNLOCK: Reverses the DATA LOCK (making file deletable once
again).
    
    While watching the replays, SQUARE slows down the replay, CIRCLE skips
to
the 
    next replay, and X ends the replay.

TOP-SECRET TRICKS

-To gain control of ZULU, simply beat the game with all 8 characters,
regardless
 of the chosen difficulty level. The popular "cheat" method of doing this
is
to
 set the game difficulty to "EASY" and the timer to "30". Then, hit your
opponent
 once and just avois him thereafter until the timer runs out, giving you
the
 victory. Remember to save once you get him!

-To play as XTAL, finish the game as ZULU without continuing (not sure if
the
 difficulty level is important - Anyone who can help will be given the
appropriate
 credit).

-To play as NECO, finish the game as XTAL wit game-within-a-game, "Tiny
Phalanx", simply hold down "SELECT"
 and "START" on Controller 2 while the game is loading up. After the Zoom
logo
 comes on, you'll see the words "BONUS GAME". You can even save your high
scores
 to the memory card. It's unknown (so far) if beating the game with 100%
hit
rate
 opens up any secrets in the regular Zero Divide.
