(5)Walkthrough I beat the game with a white mage, black mage, and 2 warriors so this guide will act like you started with them. The beginning #A1 You start off at the gates of Cornelia. Walk into the town and talk to the solder behind you. He'll say, "The king is looking for the Warriors of Light, those crystals you must see the king at once!" He takes you to the king. The king tells you that Garland the kingdom's finest knight has stolen his daughter Sarah. He'll make a deal with you. if you rescue his daughter he'll repair the broken bridge. Now leave the castle and go to the shops. Weapon Shop Nunchaku 8 gil Knive 4 gil Staff 4 gil Rapier 8 gil Hammer 8 gil Armor Shop Clothes 8 gil Leather Armor 40 gil Chain Mail 65 gil White Magic Shop Cure Lv 1 50 gil Dia lv 1 50 gil Protect Lv 1 50 gil Blink Lv 1 50 gil I suggest you buy Cure, Dia, Protect. Black Magic Shop Fire Lv 1 50 gil Sleep Lv 1 50 gil Focus Lv 1 50 gil Thunder Lv 1 50 gil I suggest you get Fire, Sleep, Thunder. Once you get the stuff you need, it's time to level up. Just get your characters past level 3. I beat Garland with all my characters at Level 4. If you need to heal go to the Inn. It's only 30 gil no matter what. The fall of Garland #A2 Go north and you'll reach a fork and go left and keep going up until reach a building that is called the Chaos Shrine, go in there and up you'll see Garland standing with Sarah, talk with him and the battle begins. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Boss Battle Garland Hp: 212 Attack: 15 Accuracy: 27 Defense: 8 Agillity: 6 Intelligence: 12 (Ha Ha, he is stupid!!!) Evasion: 12 Magic Defense: 64 Gil: 250 EXP: 130 Treasure: Longsword (you might not get this item) =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Just keep attacking with everything you got, it should do around 20 damage. With your Black Mage use Thunder it should do damage around 40. His attacks are weak they don't do more than 20 damage, and heal if needed, the only one you need to worry about is your Black Mage. Just attack and heal and you'll be fine. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== The bridge is repaired #A3 Sarah will get up and talk to you and you will automaticaly escort her to castle. The king is happy and in return he will have the bridge fixed. It will show workers fixing the bridge, then a guy comes and says something like the warriors of light need to cross the bridge. Then the workers start working really fast soon the bridge is fixed, and the workers leave and now you can cross the bridge. I suggest leveling up first get to a level past 10 because enemies can cause problems if you're ill prepared. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== The other side of the bridge #A4 Cross the bridge when your ready. Once you're on the bridge you will stop. It shows ther warriors of light looking back at Castle Cornelia then some text words come up(I forgot what it says)then the old screen comes up and you can leave. From the the bridge go up and go to the right side of the mountain range the go right til you hit the ocean and head south into a town called Provoka. If you need help you can look on your map (Select+B) red dot, that is right of Cornelia =============================================================================== Provoka Hit the Shops to get ready for next the Boss battle. Head to the Northwest corner of the town(West means left, and East means right) and talk to the pirate in the middle and he'll yap about something and his crew will fight you. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Mini Boss Pirate(s) Hp: 24 Attack: 10 Accuracy: 2 Defense: 0 Agility: 6 Intelligence: 3 Evasion: 12 Magic Defense: 35 Gil: 40 EXP: 40 Treasure: Leather Shield =============================================================================== =============================================================================== You fight 9 of these guys! They are really easy, have your Black Mage cast sleep, then attack!!!!!! Have your Black Mage use Thunder. You should beat them without much trouble. =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Bikke, the pirate will beg for mercy and then give you his ship Woo Hoo!!!!:) Remember Matoya's Cave go there now and speak with her. She won't say anything useful, but you hear say that someone stole her "Magical Eye". Hmmm. Keep that in mind for now. =============================================================================== To Elfheim #A5 Get your party past Level 13 and once you do that get on your ship and go to the Cornelia harbor. From the harbor go STRAIGHT down then go left and should see a harbor, dock there. From the dock go straight down and you should see a town and a castle, go into the castle. =============================================================================== Elven Castle Go in and talk to the elves and go into a room and you'll see a Elven doctor and the Elven Prince lying in the bed. Talk to the doctor and he'll tell you that Astos, king of the Dark Elves put a spell on the Prince to make him fall alseepforever. Go into the the town. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elfheim Now hit the shops, here are the prices. Inn 100 Gil Sanctuary 200 Gil Weapon Shop Crosier 160 Gil Dagger 140 Gil Iron Nunchaku 160 Gil Saber 360 Gil Armor Shop Copper Armlet 800 Gil Helmet 80 Gil Iron Armor 640 Gil Iron Shield 80 Gil Leather cap 65 Gil Item Shop Antidote 50 Gil Echo Grass 50 Gil Gold Needle 500 Gil Potion 40 Gil Tent 160 Gil White Magic Shop Cura Lv 3 1,000 Gil Diara Lv 3 1,000 Gil Heal Lv 3 1,000 Gil NulBlaze Lv 3 1,000 Gil Black Magic Shop Fira Lv 3 1,000 Gil Focara Lv 3 1,000 Gil Hold Lv 3 1,000 Gil Thundara Lv 3 1,000 Gil White Magic Shop Fear Lv 4 2,500 Gil NulFrost Lv 4 2,500 Gil Poisona Lv 4 2,500 Gil Vox Lv 4 2,500 Gil Black Magic Shop Blizzara Lv 4 2,500 Gil Confuse Lv 4 2,500 Gil Haste Lv 4 2,500 Gil Sleepra Lv 4 2,500 Gil I suggest that you get Cura and Fira first then buy Poisona for the Poison inflicting enemies. Buy some Potions, Tents, and Antidotes for the next dungeon. =============================================================================== The Crown #A6 Once you have bought your items and equipment head west until you reach a range of mountains. Go up until you reach an abandoned castle called the Western Keep and go in. Head straight up to the throne room and talk to the King. He'll tell that the King of the Dark Elves, Astos tricked him and he lost his kingdom. Next, he will tell you that he can restore his kingdom if you bring him the Crown. Go back to Elfheim and heal and level up if needed. =============================================================================== Marsh Cave & the Crown #A7 From Elfheim go west to the range of mountains then go up, STICK to the range until you see a opening in the range. Go through it and head south until you see a hole into the ground. Walk in and you're now in Marsh Cave. There 2 paths you can take. The lower path will take you to the Crown and the upper path will score you some treasure, you take your pick. I'll start with the treasure path. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Treasure Path The first room you enter there will be a Dagger. 620 gil, 680 gil, a Broadsword. WARNING: There's a little trick, there is about three or four Broadsword and 680 gil items, the trick is the "other" Broadswords, and 680 gil will disappear if you get anyone of the items. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crown Path Head straight down from the entrace, and go through the door. In this room there is 680 gil, and two Broadswords. If you already went through the treasure path don't mind the items. If not read my WARNING up above. The next door is on the southeast part of the room. This room is a little tricky. There are 4x4 rooms that have treasure, nothing, or the crown. Just so you don't confused, Columms means UP and DOWN and Rows means LEFT and RIGHT. The FIRST room closest to the door has a Phoenix Down, this is one of the WARNING items. The room in the FIRST row and FOUR columms to the LEFT is 295 gil. The room in the SECOND row DOWN has a Copper Armlet (YES, just go TWO rooms down from the entrace). The room in the SECOND row down and TWO columms to the right has a Cottage and a *Phoenix Down* (SEE WARNING). The room in the THIRD row down and THREE columms to the right has 385 gil. The room in the THIRD row down and FOUR columms to the right has a *Phoenix Down*. You can't get the items in the fourth row down. The Crown is THREE columms down from the entrace and ONE Row to the RIGHT. I'am really sorry for the confusion:(. In the room where The Crown is at you'll fight one or a group of Piscodemon(s). =============================================================================== Mini Boss(es) Piscodemon(s) HP: 84 Attack: 30 Accuracy: 21 Defense: 16 Agility: 33 Intelligence: 18 Evasion: 66 Magic Defense: 98 Gil: 300 Exp: 276 Treasure: - =============================================================================== =============================================================================== As you can see magic attacks won't do anything to them. Save your magic for healing. Hit them with strong physical attacks. They should fall easy. Note: Rooms that have tombstones have Piscodemons. Nearly every step you take will trigger an encounter. =============================================================================== The Dark Elf #A8 Once you get out heal and head back to Elfheim. You should have tons of gil! Buy any magic or items for the upcoming Boss Battle, save and head to the Western Keep. Talk to the king to trigger a battle. =============================================================================== Boss Astos HP: 420 Attack: 30 Accuracy: 42 Defense: 18 Agility: 39 Intelligence: 24 Evasion: 78 Magic Defense: 170 Gil: 2000 Exp: 2250 Treasure: Mythril Sword =============================================================================== =============================================================================== Hit this guy with physical attacks his magic defense is to high. He knows a powerful spell called Death. Your MP should be spent on healing and using defensive magic as Haste and Invis. Silence will take away his spells. He will probably kill one of your mages so protect them. Hit him hard and heal and you should be fine. =============================================================================== Reviving the prince and so on #A9 Once you have defeated Astos go back to Matoya's cave. Its northeast of Cornelia. After talking to Matoya she gives you the Jolt Tonic. Head back to Elfheim and into the castle go to the prince's chamber. After awakening the prince he will give the Mystic Key. Go back to the Western Keep, in the southwest corner there is a room that has a Falchion, Power Staff, and Steel Gloves. =============================================================================== Marsh Cave In the lower level of Marsh Cave, the bottom rooms have a Silver Armlet, Antidote, and 1020 Gil. The third room is a dud so watch out. To be continued...
