Goku's Walkthrough - Guide for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3

Phrase 1:  Saiyan Saga
--------------------------
Goku's House (C3R3)
There will be a couple of cutscenes at Goku's house and you will get
Kamehameha capsule on your 1st play!

Do the following first:-

                Dragon Ball Locations (find them first!)

   Dragon Radar (C3R2)
   It is located somewhere in the plains that is northeast off the
   red marker. Search for a ??? marker

   1st Dragonball (C4R1)
   Within the snowy continent, you will find a ??? marker near the
   forest located near Muscle Tower. Make use of the radar to aid
   you.

   2nd Dragonball (C1R2)
   Within the hilly region of main continent, search the northwest
   region & there is an island off the mountains. You will find a
   ??? marker. Use your Dragon Radar to aid you.

Equip the capsule for for Goku and place on a slot. If you forget to
access it, hit the START button to access it again)
 
Battle Point (C3R2)
(Battle Point locations will change after you have defeat a boss.)
Northeast off Goku's house is a red-coloured spot. It is a battle point
where you get to fight...

 Kame House (C4R3)
 Head southwest from Goku's house to southern islands. There is a
 house isolated on an island. Enter it there & Goku will talk to
 Krillin & Bulma. 

 You will be at the world. Visit it a 2nd time & Goku will meet
 Master Roshi.

 World Tournament (Grid C3R4)
 Head towards west from Kame House & you will see the World
 Tournament. Enter the marker & Goku will battle Tien!

   Basic Attacks: Dodompa, Ki Blast Cannon
   You will win by Ring-Out or KO

 Baba's Palace (C1R4)
 Head further west from the World Tournament and move towards
 the west continent. There will be a palace isolated in the
 desert. Enter it and Goku will meet Baba.

 ??? (C1R3)
 In the northwest region of this grid, there is ??? marker there.
 Hit X to check it out and you will get random equipment capsule.

 Korin's Tower (C1R2)
 Move north from there and you will see a "bowl structure"
 suspended in the mid-air. Goku will meet up with Yajirobe.

 Kami's Lookout (C1R2)
 Once you are back at the world map, use Ki Search (R1). You will
 see Kami's Lookout selectable. Select it. Goku will undergo some
 training and thus gaining a level. This works ONLY for your first
 play

 ??? (C1R1)
 It is located in the isolated hilly continent on the northwest of the
 map. You will get 8000 zenie!

 ??? (C2R2)
 On this island in between the two largest continents, you will find
 another ??? region. You should get a random Membership Card capsule.
 - It will varies as it depends on Goku's current level. Please refer
   to Membership Card notes at Section 7.4 for more details.

 Still within the same grid, head northeast from the island till you
 reach the mountains. You will find another ??? region. You will find
 another 5000 zenie!

 Again within the same region, SE off the long bridge, there is a
 curving river. Somewhere on the mountains, you will find another ???.
 It is more money! 5,000 zenie!

 North City (C2R1)
 Goku will meet up with Yamcha who seems to be flirting with another
 lady...

 West City (C2R2)
 It is located at the SW region of grid. Goku will meet Bulma. She
 will give Goku a random vest capsule and asks about Yamcha (!).

 North City (C2R1)
 Return back to North City. Yamcha will attempt to flirt again and
 Goku will be given a random item capsule so that the latter could
 stop disturbing him ^_^

 East City (C3R2)
 The city is located in middle of axis or northeast off the red
 marker. Visit it and Goku will meet Oolong who is attempting to bully
 a kid...

 ??? (C3R1)
 It is located in the plains north off the Dragon Radar, you will find
 another random equipment capsule.

Red Marker "Plains"
Head for the red marker to continue with the story. Make sure that you
have equip Kamehameha capsule for Goku prior to start fighting this
match...

After the battle, Goku will be at the region where you find Korin's
Tower.

Battle Point (C3R3)
The battle point has been relocated to the mountains region southwest
off Goku's house and Goku will fight...

 Korin's Tower & Kami Lookout (C1R2)
 Enter Korin's Tower & Goku will talk to Korin. You will be back at
 the world map again. Use Ki Search and you will be able to access
 Kami's Lookout. Goku will meet up with Kami where the latter gives
 you a random item capsule.

 Kame House (C4R3)
 Visit the Kame House & Master Roshi will give a random item capsule!

 Goku's House (C3R4)
 Chi-Chi will tell Goku that Piccolo has took Gohan away. Chi-Chi
 will get you a random item capsule after the chat.

 Sky (C2R2)
 Fly over to West City. Now use Ki Search and rotate your camera 
 angles so that you will be able to view the skies. You will see a
 region labelled "Sky". It will trigger a cutscene...

Red Marker "Plains"
Goku will talk with King Kai & you will recieve the Kaioken Capsule!
Equip it and re-enter the marker. This time, Goku will face...

After the battle with Nappa, you will meet up with Krillin about the
current situation as Piccolo is gone..

Battle Point (C2R2)

   When it gets in self-destruct mode, get away from it as it

The red marker has been shifted to the mountains area that is southwest
off Goku's house.

 Goku's House (C3R3)
 Head back home to Goku's house. There will be a cutscene between
 Goku and Gohan.

 Forest (C1R2)
 It is located in one of the forests that is north off Korin's Tower.
 Visit it. Goku will meet up Yajirobe who seems to make fun of Korin
 by placing his walking stick there...

 Korin's Tower (C2R2)
 Goku returns the walking stick and Korin gives you a common item
 capsule for finding back his stick.

 Desert (C3R3)
 Fly around this area and it will trigger a cutscene of Yajirobe
 will coming near the area...

Plains (C3R1) - Spirit Bomb
Fly around the region here and eventually Goku will automatically
drop off into the region there. He meet up with Krillin, Gohan & King
Kai. King Kai will give you the "Spirit Bomb" capsule. Make sure you
equip it!

Mountains (Red Marker)
This is the name for the red marker. Head there and you will fight
the prince of Saiyan, Vegeta!

   Power-up to Kaikoken (P+K+G) and this battle seems easy as
   Vegeta has only his Galick gun attack...

Phrase 2:  Namek Saga
--------------------------

Start Off Point (C4R2)
Well, it is a brand new world with new enemies. The world is split in
five major islands. You will be at the area where Goku's spaceship (the
capsule-like spaceship)

Do the following first:-

                Dragon Ball Locations (find them first!)

   Dragon Radar (C4R2)
   If you haven't gotten the Dragon Radar in the previous saga. You
   can find it at in the area near southmost tip of continent.

   3rd Dragonball (Between C3R1 & C4R1)
   The dragonball can found on island north off the northeast
   continent where you find the red marker. Use the radar to aid you.

   4th Dragonball (C1R2)
   Within the region, you will find a couple of small islands.
   Within one of them has a ??? marker. It is located on an island 
   southwest off Northwest continent. Use the radar to aid you

 Side Quests (optional)

 Capsule House (C4R3)
 Fly over the region and you find one of the hills there with a crater
 on the top. It is the Capsule House. Visit it twice and you will get
 Turtle Shell capsule from Bulma on your second try.

Battle Point (Between C1R2 or C2R2)

It is located in the northwest continent. You will find 3 blinking
spots on the continent.

Spot on the left:   Krillin & Gohan (you can visit it twice)
Spot in the middle: Vegeta

Visit the one on the right and you will face...
(Note: You turn to the one that is on the right, you will fight
       Recoome straightway.)

 The Namekian Village is located north off the red marker and it is
 in the middle continent. Goku will meet up with Niru who challenges
 him for a sparring match...
 - You will gain a level there!

 Guru's House (C1R1)
 Guru's House is located on isloated strip of land. It is a very
 distinctive object, thus you cannot miss it. Head there.
 - You will gain a level there!

Planet Namek (C3R2) *red marker*
Head for the red marker and you will meet Recoome and says something
about Ginyu. Now the red marker shift position to 2C2R. Look for
another "Planet Namek" marker and Goku will fight...

   Captain Ginyu              | Base Exp: 1152  |Health LV: 4.00
   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Milky Cannon, Strong Jersey, Special Fighting
                  Pose 1, Special Fighting Pose 2
   Ultimate:      Body Change
   Strong Jersey is a short-range attack while Milky Cannon
   deals long-range damage. Watch out for Body change as you
   will swap your HP and movelist with Ginyu...

Goku sustains serious injuries due to the Ginyu's body teleportation
and recovers thanks to Vegeta's help. There is no change to the
battle points.

"Planet Namek (C1R2) *red marker*
Head there and Goku will meet up with Frieza who is in his final
form...

   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Death Beam, Death Wave
   Ultimate:      Death Ball
   Death Beam & Death Wave are long-range attacks while Death

Battle Point (Between C1R2 or C2R2)
After the battle, the red marker moves towards in the region where
you find the southestern continent of islands. The battle point
locations remains unchanged but...

 Look out for the Namekian Spaceship that Bulma and Co used to take
 them to Planet Namek. You will get a special random equipment
 (Wishes) capsule!

Planet Namek (C3R4) *red marker*
Head for the red marker and Krillin will get killed by Frieza. Goku
will get Goku's Super Saiyan capsule and it will trigger the fight
automatically!

   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Death Beam, Death Wave
   Ultimate:      Death Ball
   Death Beam & Death Wave are long-range attacks while Death
   Ball is his ultimates. You will start off the battle in SSJ
   while Frieza in 100% full power. Goku will be able to execute
   Dragon Fist (back + E) even if you do not equip the Dragon
   Fist capsule.

   Dragon Radar (C2R2, West City)
   Goku will meet up Bulma and will talk about Android #16. You will
   receives the Dragon Radar.

   5th Dragonball (C4R4)
   Proceed to the ocean where the compass is located on the World Map.
   You will be able to find your fifth Dragonball! Use your radar
   to aid you!

Battle Point (C3R3)
The battle point is located near Goku's house and you will fight...

   I would recommend to train here a bit till you reach level 15
   before fighting Cell...

 called "Muscle Tower". Goku will be talking with King Kai...

 It is located near a forest that is surrounded by the mountains.
 Search for a ??? region where you can get 2000 zenie!

 Time Machine (C1R2)
 There is a Time Machine in the middle of the forest north off
 Korin's Tower. Head there and Goku will fight...

   Ultimate:      Supernova
   Sauzer Blade is a close-combat attack while Destructive Ray

 Turn around and face south towards Korin's Tower. You will find
 another area marked "Forest" where it will trigger a cutscene...

 Kami's Lookout (C1R2)
 Head for Korin's Tower and you will be accessing Kami's Lookout
 automatically. You will automatically gain 2 levels!

 Once back on the World Map, use your Ki Search (R1) & you will be
 able to access Korin's Tower. Goku will meet Korin. Upon exit,
 you will be able to access Kami's Lookout again. Goku will meet Mr.
 Popo and you will get a random equipment (vest) capsule!

 Mountains (C3R3)
 There will be a cutscene...

 ??? (C1R3)
 The house located northeast off Baba's Palace. It is not hard to
 locate since the western location is so deserted. There is a small
 town. Head there and you get the Viral Heart Disease capsule!

 ??? (C2R2)
 It is located somewhere in plains near the mountains where you find
 the West City. It will be another "???" marker and you can retrieve
 a random ability capsule.

 ??? (C2R4)
 It is located somewhere in the beach off South City. You will get
 8000 zenie!

 Head for South City and there will be a cutscene between Goku & Oolong

 Plains (C3R2) - Warp Kamehameha
 This place is located northeast off the Cell Game Ring. Fly over it
 and access it. Goku will have a chat with Krillin. You will acquire
 Warp Kamehameha capsule. Equip it!

 Cell Game Ring *red marker*
 Once you are done, head there...

   Cell (perfect form)        | Base Exp: 3872  |Health LV: 4.00
   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Kamehameha, Energy Field
   Ultimate:      Spirit Bomb
   Energy Field is meant for close-combat and makes Cell
   invisible against ki attacks (which includes death-moves).
   Kamehameha works in the same principle as Goku's.

Phrase 4:  Buu Saga
----------------------

There will be story flashbacks and you will obtain Goku's Super
Saiyan 2 capsule. You will start at the sea near Babidi's Spaceship.
Make sure you equip the Super Saiyan 2 capsule

Do the following first:-

                Dragon Ball Locations (find them first!)

   Dragon Radar (C3R1)
   It is located within the mountains area in NW region of the main
   continent, you can find a ???? region. Search it to get your radar

   6th Dragonball (C3R4)
   There is a small patch of island that is located east from the
   World Tournament Stage. Use your radar to assist you.

   7th Dragonball (C2R1)
   Proceed northeast from North City and search the mountains area.
   You will find the 7th and last Dragonball here! Use the radar to
   assist you.

Battle Point (C3R2)
In the middle of the vast desert, you will find the battle point. You
will battle...

 Babidi's Spaceship (C1R3)
 Make your way to Babidi's Spaceship.  There will be a cutscene with
 the Supreme Kai.

 ??? (C1R3)
 Head north off Babidi's Spaceship, you will see a ??? region where you
 find a random abiliy (death-move) capsule. You will get Dragon Fist
 if you haven't get it earlier.

 ??? (C1R2)
 In the forest located northwest off Korin's Tower, there is another
 ??? region where you will get 10,000 zenie!

 There is another ??? marker within this grid. The forest is located
 northeast from the town located in the west continent. Search it and
 you will get a random equipment capsule.

 North City (C2R1)
 In North City, Goku will meet up Yamcha and you will get Yakon
 capsule!

 Search for another ??? marker, located near the SW region of the
 grid. You can find another common ability capsule

 ??? (C4R1)
 On a small green island near the snowy continent, there is a ???
 marker where you can find 5,000 zenie from it.

 Hercule City (C4R2)
 The city is inaccessible for the first few sagas turns out be
 Hercule City. Goku will meet up with Great Saiyaman (Gohan)

 Head eastwards off Hercule City, you will find another ??? marker
 where you can find another random equipment capsule.

 Goku's House (C3R3)
 Head back to Goku's house and he will meet up Chi-Chi & meet
 Goten... Chi-Chi will give Goku a random common item capsule.

 Forest (C2R2)
 You should see the word "Forest" on the area maker. Enter it. Goku
 will meet up with Videl. After the conversation, you will get the
 Angel's Halo capsule!

   BOSS

   Majin Vegeta               | Base Exp: 5000  |Health LV: 4.00
   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Atomic Blast, Final impact
   Ultimate:      Final Explosion*
   I doubt Vegeta will use the Final Explosion as it will kill
   him off if he fails. Vegeta starts off in Majin Vegeta form.

Battle Point (C4R2)
After the battle, the red marker has moved to somewhere near Kami's
Lookout. The Battle Point have also moved its location to the island
in the northwestern region.

   Basic Attacks: Destructive Ray, Sauzer Blade
   Ultimate:      Supernova
   Sauzer Blade is a close-combat attack while Destructive Ray

Kami's Lookout (C1R2)
Proceed to Korin's Tower and you will be heading to Kami's Lookout
directly where Goku will be talking to his allies. There will be
some cutscenes...

There is nothing much to do other than heading for the red marker

??? (C2R3) *red marker*
Flying to the red spot and Goku will meet Majin Buu. Goku morphs in
all Saiyans and ultimately... Super Saiyan 3 and you get the
capsule!

   BOSS

   Majin Buu                  | Base Exp: 7200  |Health LV: 3.75
   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Innocence Cannon, Innocence Express
   Ultimate:      Angry Explosion*
   Goku will starts off the battle in SSJ3 form. Innocence
   Cannon is a long-range attack while Innocence Express is
   meant for close combat...

Goku will be back at Kami's Lookout and this is followed by more
cutscenes. You will be back on Earth...

   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Destructive Ray, Sauzer Blade
   Ultimate:      Supernova
   Sauzer Blade is a close-combat attack while Destructive Ray

At the southern most of grid, you will find Babidi's Spaceship and
that is the red marker. Goku will meet up Gohan and Super Buu
(Gotenks form) Super Buu absorbs Gohan...

??? (C1R3)
Once you are out in the world, use sense (R1) and Goku will think of
merging with Hercule (^_^) but he senses...

??? (C3R2)
Head for the red marker and there will be some more cutscenes... Goku
will meet up with Vegeta. They form Vegito! You will get the Potara
 capsule for Goku!

   BOSS

   Super Buu (Gohan)          | Base Exp: 9248  |Health LV: 3.75
   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Kamehameha, Ill Ball Attack
   Ultimate:      Super Kamehameha

   You start off the battle as Super Vegito while Super Buu
   starts off in Gohan absorption form. Vegito has some attack
   changes from Goku's moveset. Pause the game to view Vegito's
   moveset...

There will be some more cutscenes...

   BOSS
   =============================================================
   Super Buu                  | Base Exp: 10368 |Health LV: 3.75
   =============================================================

   Ultimate:      Absorpiton*
   Battle Condition: Health is dropping and you need to defeat
   the enemy before your's got fully depleted.

   - Absorption (ability capsule for Super Buu)
   =============================================================

After the cutscenes and you will be back at Earth.

   Equip the following capsules:
   - Kaioken
   - Super Saiyan
   - Spirit Bomb
   - Kamehameha
   - Angel's Halo
   - good defensive armor

There are no more battle points, thus head for the red marker. Earth
got destroyed by Kid Buu and some cutscenes and you will be brought
to the Supreme Kai Planet where Goku will fight...

   FINAL BOSS

   Kid Buu                    | Base Exp: 12800 |Health LV: 4.25
   =============================================================
   Basic Attacks: Vanishing Ball, Kamehameha
   Ultimate:      Warp Kamehameha
   This is probably Goku's toughest battle, that you have to
   play so far. Kid Buu is fast and has a high affinity for
   pursue, teleport, dragon rush and ultimates. Do not power-up
   Goku to Super Saiyan. Power up him to Kaioken at most.
   Weaken Buu till his life gauge is half orange. Have your ki
   at max. Activate Hyper Mode and use the Ultimate. Goku will
   use Super Spirit Bomb. You do not need to win the struggle

   make your wish from Shenlong if you have 7 dragonballs.

   (I repeat "SUCCESS"), you will get to do the following special

 Fly over the islands over this region. There is an island with ???
 region. The island is located just north off the compass. Examine it
 and there will be a cutscene of Goku begin SSJ4! You get the Super
 Saiyan 4 capusle! When in Super Saiyan 4, Goku will have new moves
 too. Please check the movelist for details.

 World Tournament (C3R4)
 Fly to World Tournament Stage which is indicated by the red marker.
 Goku will meet up with his friends and he will fight...
