Golden Scarab & Crystal Skull Locations Guide

Introduction:

The following guide was created to help people find the Golden Scarabs &
Crystal Skulls. Please note that while the aomunt of Scarabs in each level
differs, there is always one (and only one) Crystal Skull each Day. Also, 
Crystal Skulls can't be used on Hero Mode, only Normal Mode or higher, and
you must also clear any enemies from the immediate area. Lastly, when playing
on a difficulty you can use the Skulls on, they make a distinct sound not
heard elsewhere in the game, so you can tell if they are nearby.


Golden Scarab & Crystal Skull Locations:

Day 1 (6 Scarabs In Total):

#1: After you run from the spidertank the first time, you must slide under 
two low gaps & jump over another. Instead of jumping over it, jump in it.

#2: After the part where you Falcon Dive down after stealth killing a guard
(the guard is missing in chapter challenge), backtrack towards the bottom
of the area you jumped from.

#3: During the part where the helicopter attacks the missile shooting enemies
in the distance, check behind the last car on the right.

#4: After defeating the Spiderbot and using the save point, look at the left
side of the path. There is part of a building jutting out, check behind it.

Skull: After the first Kunai Climb wall, head to the right and slide under
the gap. Head around the bend for the skull.

#5: After you kick down the first door, you will eventually reach a spiraling
staircase. Instead of descending it, check to left of where you entered the
room.

#6: Right after you exit a room and get a QTE where you dodge and use Steel
On Bone on an enemy, it's on your left.


Day 2 (10 Scarabs In Total):

#7: At the start of the level, head to the right end of the area.

#8: After the first wall jump area, you will see a save point. It's to the
left of it.

#9: After you scale the first Kunai Climb wall, it's on your right.

#10: After the previous one, you will jump down into an arena and fight a
bunch of enemies. After the fight, you will have to wall jump to move on.
Immediately after wall jumping, turn around, jump back into the wall, and
wall jump to an even higher platform.

#11: After fighting the Alchemists, climb the Kunai Wall. You will see a
save point. Head to the right around the wooden construction.

#12: You will eventually come across a bar with a jukebox (with Muramasa's
shop theme from NG1 playing, no less). It's in plain site there.

#13: After leaving the bar, you will have to wall run to get across a gap.
Do so, and it is on your left afterwards.

#14: After the first fight with the helicopter, check behind the golden
statue you come across.

#15: After the second fight with the helicopter, slide under the gap to move
on, then check behind the far pillar.

Skull: After you slide under the wreckage of the helicopter (and the pilot
tries to kill you in Story Mode), look to the right for some ledges you can
climb up. Swing on the pole, and wall run to get on top of the train to find
it.

#16: After you deal with the Grip of Murder and take the elevator up, you
will see a save point. Check behind it.


Day 2 - Ayane (3 Scarabs In Total):

#17: At the start, head to the left to find it.

Skull: After the first wall jump across a gap, turn around and look a pole
you can wall run to (it looks like a lamp post). Swing off it and wall run
to reach the platform, then wall run again to reach the next platform. Use
the Kunai Climb wall, and drop down the hole to find it.

#18: After the first wall jump across a gap, move down the path & you will
find yourself outside again. Look to the left to find a wall you can run on
to get to the opposite balcony. Do so, and head down the path to find it.

#19: Back on the main path, you will reach a point where you have to jump
down. Instead of doing so, look to the right to see a platform you can wall
run to (You can also jump down, kill the enemies, and then use a Kunai Climb
wall to reach the platform. Just be aware there are two Kunai climb walls,
the other one leads to a save point).


Day 3 (5 Scarabs In Total):

#20: After scaling the first Kunai Climb wall, look to the left.

#21: Eventually you will reach a point where you are supposed to jump off a
ledge onto a truck. Instead, look to your right (There is a radio nearby,
which has a voice talking if you are on story mode).

Skull: After the cave section, you will find yourself in a missile silo.
Fight your way up it, but instead of wall jumping through the shaft you
find, look to the left for a spot you can wall run on. Do so, and you'll
find the skull at the end.

#22: After dealing with the Grip of Murder segment, approach the facility
doors and look to the right.

#23: When you enter the facility, ascend the right stairs and make your way
to where the left stairs would lead if they weren't barricaded (if on story,
you'll have to deal with an enemy ambush first).

#24: As you approach the exit of the room with all the display cases &
dinosaurs, it's on the right (simply turn around if you've reached the exit
doors).


Day 4 (4 Scarabs In Total):

#25: When you reach the simulation of Day 1, head up the stairs & look to
your right.

#26: After escaping the simulation system, you will eventually reach a fight
with two white armored guards. Kill them and exit out into the hallway. The
scarab is to the right down said hallway.

#27: When you reach the exit of the acid pit, don't drop down. Instead,
turn around and use the post to jump to the platform, then use wall run to
reach the next platform, and wall running & the poles to reach the platform
after that. Check inside the pipe the lone chimera comes out from for the
scarab.

Skull: When you reach the exit of the acid pit, don't drop down. Instead,
turn around and use the post to jump to the platform, then use wall run to
reach the next platform, and wall running & the poles to reach the platform
after that. The skull is at the end of the platform.

#28: After the next save point, you will find yourself back in the hallway
that led to the chimera room. Instead of heading straight, turn left and go
back into the chimera room. In the back right, a door that was previously
locked is open. Grab the scarab inside.


Day 5 (5 Scarabs In Total):

#29: At the start of the level, turn around & follow the path as it curves
to the right.

Skull: After the part with the long bridge that turns into a Kunai Climb
wall, head to the left. Keep an eye on the right side of your screen for a
low gap in the rock wall. Slide under it, follow the path, and wall jump up
to reach it.

#30: After the save point in the high grass area, continue on until you find
a patch of land with no grass (it has wooden planks on the ground that form
stairs). The scarab is to the right of it.

#31: You'll reach a point where you have to dodge a boulder & fight some
enemies. Defeat them all, the continue on and look past the boulder on the
left for it.

#32: After the scene at Kurenai's grave, you are moved to a new location.
Turn around grab the scarab (this is the same scarab you can see if you look
under the wooden doors in the village slightly before you see the grave
scene).

#33: After Momoji burns the webbing follow the path until you reach a large
battlefield. Look to the left just as the path you are on ends.


Day 6 (4 Scarabs In Total):

#34: Move back & to the left at the start of the level to find this one.

#35: After the part where you have to get off the breaking ice by using a
Kunai climb wall, head to the left when you reach the top for this one.

#36: You will reach a point where you have to shoot down one of those bug
nests to destroy an icicle blocking your path. Defeat the enemies that
spawn, than wall run to the Kunai climb wall. The scarab is on the right
side of the wall as you climb.

#37: When you reach the second floor of the room with the stained glass
window, look to your left as you exit from the hallway.

Skull: You'll eventually reach an area filled with test tubes that is almost
like a miniature maze. When you reach the exit (it'll be on your left),
ignore it and slide under the gap in the wooden boards. Head right & then
left to find it.

#38: After exiting the area with all the test tubes, head through the cave
tunnel. When you reach the hall, go left for the scarab.


Day 6 - Ayane (4 Scarabs In Total):

#39: After you kill the enemies on the pier at the start of the level, move
foward and check behind the truck on your left.

#40: When you reach the first staircase of the level, don't go up it.
Instead, head to the right of where they start for another scarab.

#41: After you ascend the staircase, you'll reach a ledge you will eagle
dive off from. Kill all the enemies, then check behind the bags that are
below where you dove from.

Skull: You will reach a point where a container suddenly falls and releases
some chimera. Kill them, go through the container, wall run to get across
the gap, and jump down. You will see another container you must walk
through. Do so, and when you exit, look at the containers that make up the
wall. You will see they are designed to wall run on. You will reach the top
of the container you just went through after you wall run, the skull is up
there.

#42: After the fight with the 3 sword wielding Alchemists, open the gate
and look to your right.


Day 7 (4 Scarabs In Total):

#43: As you approach the second machine gun turret, it is on your left.

#44: After you Falcon Dive to second ship and destory a turret, search
straight ahead for this one.

Skull: After you destroy the second turret on the second ship (it's the
first turret if you don't count the one you destroyed via Falcon Dive), you
will head down some stairs. You are supposed to go through the door ahead,
but ignore it and use the Kunai Climb wall to your left. Slide under the
gap, and you'll find the Crystal Skull on the catwalk.

#45: After climbing the first Kunai Climb wall on the mast of the second
ship, you will reach a save point and see another Kunai Climb wall. Ignore
it and circle around to the front of the platform.

#46: After beating Ashtear, you will find yourself in the ship's hold. You
will see a little yellow car to the left, check beside it.


Day 8 (4 Scarabs In Total):

#47: After the part where you Falcon Dive down to take out the missile
launching enemy who destroyed the bridge, you will have to kill some
enemies. Do so, and then keep an eye out for the scarab on the right side of
the road, behind some debris & poles.

#48: After Falcon Diving down to the first Chimera enemy area, look on the
right side of the street for this one (if you look up, there's a sign that
reads "LOA Cute," the scarab is right beneath this.

Skull: After Falcon Diving down to the first Chimera enemy area, look down
the left side of the street. You'll see a gap you can slide under.
Afterwards, wall jump up and you will find the skull.

#49: After Theodore partners up with you, move ahead and fight some enemies.
You will go up a makeshift ramp (it's a big Japanese sign). Before you go up
the next makeshift ramp, look to the right.

#50: Still with Theodore, when you see the Kunai Climb wall, look to your
right, it's hidden behind the side of the building with the door.
