Hi, my name is Ben Rosenstock, and I am writing a guide to Mario Party 4. If you have any other questions, e-mail me. My e-mail address is [email protected]. In this guide, I will give you tips on the separate boards, like good ways of getting the star, getting coins, etc. Toad's Midway Madness You want to start out by getting high numbers on the Dice Block if you can. If 2 or more people are near the star, and you aren't, don't even bother going the way with the star. Either go to a Boo house so you can steal their star, or go a separate way. If you go a separate way, the next star might appear near you. Boo House Once you're at the Boo House, try to steal a star. Only steal coins if you have tons more stars than everyone else. Remember: if you have a ton of coins, you can get the bonus Coin Star at the end of the game. Happening Spaces A few of the happening spaces make you run from the rollercoaster. Try to land on these happening spaces if they take you near the star. Items In Toad's Midway Madness, focus on getting Mega or Super Mega Mushrooms. They help a lot if you're trying to get close to the star. They can take coins away from other people, causing them to not have enough coins to get the star. A lot of Coms stay with low coins (50 coins or below). Once you take ten coins away from them with your Mega or Super Mega Mushroom, they might not have enough coins to get the star. Coms love and want to get Magic Lamps all the time. Goomba's Greedy Gala You don't have to get high numbers at the start. Just focus on landing on blue spaces. Get at least 150 coins by landing on blue spaces and winning mini-games (particularly 4-Player mini-games), then spend 20 coins on the Roulette, so you will probably go near the star. If you're in the wrong corner of the board, a corner without the star, then once you reach Goomba's Dice Game, try to lose. If you lose, you can go back to the Start Space and get to go to the Roulette again, giving you a chance to go the right way this time. Boo Houses Boo Houses in Goomba's Greedy Gala are hard to reach. Don't try to get to Boo Houses. Just focus on getting coins. Happening Spaces In Goomba's Greedy Gala, there is only one type of Happening Space. If you land on it, you have to go on a small car and slide it down this narrow passageway, bouncing off the walls and getting coins. These spaces are mainly recommended if you don't have a lot of coins or if you have only a few less coins than someone else, because then you have better chances of getting the Coin Star. Items The key item in Goomba's Greedy Gala is Warp Pipe. You can switch places with somebody else if you're not in the corner with the star. Also, Magic Lamps help, because sometimes it is annoying if you're stuck in the wrong corner. Koopa's Seaside Soiree In Koopa's Seaside Soiree, there is a place where you have to invest coins for the Kabana. If you're near this place, you should use a Mega Mushroom. If you pass the investing place while you're mega, you won't have to invest any coins. Boo Houses to be continued... Happening Spaces In Koopa's Seaside Soiree, if you land on the Happening Space by the Kabana, you'll waste coins and the Kabana will get hit by a giant tidal wave. Try not to land on these spaces. The other Happening Spaces make you ride a dolphin. Don't land on these, because they'll usually take you farther away from the star; lots of Happening Spaces like this are guarding the Star Spaces. Items The best item in Koopa's Seaside Soiree is either Mega Mushroom or Mini Mushroom. There is one annoying place in this party; Ukiki's Banana Game. Ukiki says the bananas are to blame, but I think Ukiki curses them or something. There is a small mini place by the banana game, where you can escape and go closer to the star. Mega Mushrooms keep you from investing coins in the Kabana. Shy Guy's Jungle Jam The raft is highly recommended for this place. It is an extreme shortcut to the star sometimes. Also, you should find Klepto and fly him across the river. It's a good bargain. You can pay 5 coins, and, if you're skilled at using the Control Stick, you can get all the coins, ending up with 10 or more coins. Also, sometimes, when you fly Klepto, the volcano erupts and gives you a shower of coins. If you get to the part with the stone wish Shy Guy, and you want to close off the river, say, 'a fun wish'. Usually, a fun wish makes the Shy Guy mad, and he covers the river. If you want the river to remain crossable, say, 'a sad wish'. Boo Houses to be continued... Happening Spaces to be continued... Items Find as many Mega Mushrooms as you can here. At the start of the game, get a Mini Mushroom, because the first star is always right in front of one of the Mini Mushroom shortcuts. If you don't have any Mini Mushrooms, use Mega Mushrooms, because the stars are hard to get to here. Boo's Haunted Bash At the start of the game, make sure that the Pink Boos are out so you can cross the pink bridge. If the Pink Boos aren't out, there is no bridge and it takes a much longer time to find the Star Space. Boo Houses The Boo House is fairy easy to get to here. Just get the first star, and only a few more spaces in front of it is a Boo House. However, there is a Warp Space on the space right behind it, so make sure you don't land on that. If you land on that, you will go to someone else's space and usually far away from the Boo House. Happening Spaces One Happening Space in here is the one that makes Big Boo come out in two minutes. I don't understand that one. to be continued... Items Use Super Mega Mushrooms, Swap Cards, and Gaddlights here. Since the Boo House is easy to get to, you'll always nead a Gaddlight. Coms like to steal stars from you. Gaddlights are highly recommended, because once they pay 50 coins to steal a star from you just to find out you have a Gaddlight, they'll waste 50 coins for nothing. Well, that's my walkthrough. I still have a few areas to finish, but I'll be done with those soon. Enjoy!
